Ch7: Non American Football
Hey guys, this is my first time making a fanfic so sorry if my grammar isn't that good. Feel free to correct me or point out any grammar errors.

This chapter is gonna be a little shorter this time since I've had multiple minor surgeries this month.
While this month's chapter is shorter, I plan on trying to get my chapters up to at least 4000 words each chapter.
Day 5
It's about 7 am when I wake up. The sun is shining through my window, and I can hear a bird chirping outside. I roll over and start to get out of my bed.
Recently I've been noticing that I've been getting up earlier every day. I think it has something to do with an Espeon's sleep cycle, but I've also never been an Espeon so I'm just assuming.
I walk out to the kitchen, make myself a bowl of cereal, and plop myself down on the floor in front of the TV while I grab the remote with my telekinesis.
I usually wouldn't sit on the ground and eat in front of the TV, at least before the transforming but now that it's harder to eat at the table I eat in front of the TV sometimes.
I turn on the TV and the news channel immediately comes on. There are currently two news anchors on the screen with the one on the left talking
"Recently the U.S. government sent out a statement saying that they are dropping their state of emergency. Along with this, they have stated that the U.S. hasn't been affected as heavily as most countries."
The news anchor on the left stops talking and the one on the right, who I recognize as James, starts talking. "Since things have calmed down the CDC is starting to recommend that people start to return to their normal lives even though things might not still be normal."
James stops talking and the news anchor on the left starts talking again "While the U.S. government has said that our country hasn't been affected as much, there are still some states that are struggling with this event more than others, the most noticeable ones being the west coast. "
The news anchor stops talking for a second and the camera switches to a map of the U.S. with everything west of the Rockies highlighted. "As shown here." He says while pointing at the board." Everything on the west side of the Rocky Mountains has been heavily affected by this event and has more pokemon on average."
"In response to this, the U.S. government has sent more supplies and aid to this region than any other part of the U.S."
"Luckily though things have started to calm down with the number of destructive incidents exponentially dropping."
They continue to talk about world news and some other topics but it's stuff I already know about from the internet, so I eventually change the channel to something else.
It's about 9:30 now and I'm still watching TV. Mom has already left for workand Owen is still asleep. I honestly wouldn't be surprised if he slept till 12. Currently, I'm watching some generic cooking show but I'm not really paying attention to it as my mind is wandering elsewhere. I'm mostly just thinking about all the stuff that has been going on ranging from theories on how and why this happened to the general state of the world.
Right now most of the world has started to calm down some except for a few countries, for example, France. They are still having riots but thankfully none of them have been as bad as the one I saw on the news which is now being dubbed the Midnight Crisis since the chaos ended up peaking at around midnight before it started to calm down. Even with all the riots, France is still continuing with their containment zones
The supply lines between countries and general world connectivity is kinda fucked right now
Most of Hungary's population has been turned into pokemon and is the country that has been hit the hardest. Countries near it like Romania, Bulgaria, Greece, Slovenia, and Slovakia have also been hit pretty hard but Hungy was hit the hardest.
My theories on how this all happened have been all over the place and they are all in the 'this could be why, but I doubt it's stage. The theory that I like the most so far is that this was all caused by some mad scientist who was really into pokemon but the main problem with that is the fact that all the transforming happened all at once.
As I'm thinking I slowly start to get an urge to go outside and sunbathe like I did yesterday. It almost feels like a need to go sunbathe. It's honestly freaking me out a little since I've never felt like this before.
I know that this isn't normal and initially I try to resist the urge but remembering how relaxing it was yesterday causes me to give in. I turn off the tv and grab the cereal bowl, that I have yet to put up, and take it to the kitchen. I put my bowl up into the sink and leave it there for Owen to wash since I can't really wash it. I probably have enough control with my telekinesis to be able to wash it but I can't really see over the counter to do so.
I make my way to the front door and open it before making my way out to the lawn. I go lie down in the middle of the law in roughly the same place I did yesterday and quickly start to relax as the sun's rays hit my back.
Time starts to pass as I lie there on the lawn. Every once in a while, a car will pass by and I'll watch as it passes. I don't see anyone pass by on the sidewalk though.
I sit out there for what I think is about an hour before I feel satisfied and decide to head back inside.
I do so and as I open the door, I can hear Owen in the kitchen making himself some breakfast on the stove. I close the door behind me and walk into the kitchen before saying while behind him. "Good morning Owen. "
"Oh, good morning, Josh," Owen says, a little surprised. "How was your morning?"
"Oh, it was good" I respond.
"All right uh, by the way if you don't mind me asking what were you doing outside?"
"Uh, well... I was sunbath—. You can't understand me." I say before giving a sigh and turning towards the living room.
I hear Owen give a small chuckle as I walk towards the living room. I quickly grab my phone from the couch and make my way back to the kitchen.
When I get there, I see that Owen's eggs are done and that he is moving them from the pan onto a plate. He also started cooking something on another pan of what smells like bacon.
I walk over to him and start to type my response. Once I finish it I lift up the phone for him to see. "Sunbathing?" he asks, confused. "May I ask why?"
I bring my phone back to myself and type out "Espeons get energy from the sun." Before I bring it back up for Owen to see.
"Wait, I thought leafeons were the ones that did that?" He asked before flipping the bacon.
"We both do." I write. "But while they do it to eat for Espeons it has to do with our psychic powers. I think."
"Oh, ok? I think I get it. Not really." Daniel responds.
I shrug and respond. "Neither do I," before typing it out for Owen.
"Well if we don't know now hopefully we should know eventually." He says. I just give him a nod back.
"Oh, by the way, may I have a piece," I say referring to the bacon.
Owen looks at the phone after I type it out. He sighs before saying. "You know what, sure. This is only because you got turned into a pokemon."
I smile and say. "Thank you brother." In an upbeat/kind of annoying tone in order to annoy him. He just rolls his eyes and says. " Don't make me take it back.
"Sorry I'm just joking." I say back." But serially thank you."
For the 3rd time this week I am making my way to the clearing. I've already passed the old rotting tree and I'm almost at the clearing now. I'm about 10 minutes later than usual due to losing track of time and Daniel texted me earlier to say that he, Shade, and Crystal were already there and to hurry up.
As I start to get close to the clearing, I start to hear voices. Quiet at first but as I get closer it starts to sound like a small crowd. I'm confused for a second before I decide to pick up the pace.
I eventually get to the edge of the clearing and look down towards the center. What I see is a wide variety of about 20 mons with the largest being a rydon and the smallest being a wurmple.
"How many people did y'all invite?" I say to myself.
After a few seconds of staring, I start to make my way down the hill towards the group of mons.
I'm maybe 100 feet away from the crowd when I hear "There you are Josh, what took you so long!" From Daniel. I look towards where I heard the voice form and see that he is currently standing with Shade, a monferno, and a azumarill.
I also see Crystal and the Anderson twins talking to another group of 7 although the twins look like they are about to explode from how energetic they are being.
"I lost track of time." I say back," and I'm only 10 minutes late."
"I'm just messing with you," Daniel says as I reach the group. "There will probably be a few other people that will be late too."
"How many people did you invite?" I ask.
"Oh, not that many." I roll my eyes. "No seriously I only invited 4 people but I also said that they could bring along whoever if they wanted to and I think it kinda spiraled."
Shade gives a small chuckle before saying "You think."
Daniel rolls his eyes and says. "All I'm trying to say is I didn't expect there to be this many people to be here."
"I don't think any of us did." The monferno says.
"Yea, when Daniel invited me here, I only expected 10 people max." Says the azumarill.
"Same, but the more the merrier I guess." The monferno says while shrugging.
"Yea, it's good that we have this many people since we will start up a game of soccer later," I say.
It's quiet for about a second before I ask, "by the way what are y'alls names."
"Well, I'm Cathrine." Says the Azumaril.
"And I'm Mathew." The monferno says.
"Well, I'm Josh just in case you didn't hear Daniel yelling my name earlier." I tease
"Hey"
"And it's nice to meet y'all" I say
"Likewise," says Mathew.
Cathrine looks like she's thinking for a second before she says. "I think I recognize you." She says." Are you the Josh that was in Ms. Owen's class last semester?"
"Yea, uh you were in the same group as me for that one project, right?" I say.
"Yes, we were." She says back.
"Nice I see you two know each other." Says Mathew.
I nod before saying "Yeah, I'm assuming that you know Daniel."
"Yes." He says back. "Daniel invited me here yesterday and since he said I could bring people along I brought my girlfriend here along."
"Oh, I didn't know you two were dating," I say to both Mathew and Cathrine.
"Yea we've been dating for a couple of months," Cathrine says as she goes to lean on Mathew's shoulder.
The conversation ended up shifting to how it happened the day of. Me and Shade had pretty similar experiences both being in our houses when it happened. Daniel explained again how he almost burned down his house. Both Cathrine and Mathew were both in a coffee shop together and about gave the barista a heart attack. They said that after things started to calm down some, they had to walk 4 hours to get back to their houses since they both couldn't drive anymore. Not that it really would have made a difference though with how bad traffic was around that time.
Eventually, I left the small group so I could go talk to other people and see who I knew. For about the next 30 minutes I conversed with people whom most of which were people I didn't know that well or people that were just acquaintances. One thing that I did find weird while I was talking to people was that there is an unproportionate amount of revolutions here. Apart from me and Crystal there are also 4 other revolutions here which doesn't sound like much initially but compared to the eeveelution lines rarity in the game it's kinda weird. I just shrugged it off as a coincidence.
Eventually, a few people decided to start setting up for the game and everyone else followed suit.
We set up the makeshift goals the same way we did yesterday and split off into 2 teams of 26. I end up on a team with Shade, Clyde, Alex, Cathrine, and a few other pokemon.
We decided on having a jolteon named Astion to be the goalie while the other team had a rydon as theirs.
After strategizing a little bit our entire team, minus the goalie, made our way to the center of the field as did the other team. Mathiew and Shade played rock-paper-scissors for the ball. Mathiew won so the other team got the ball.
We all set up and a roserade kicked the ball to start off the game.
