~~Hello, readers, welcome to my Pokémon/Hazbin Hotel crossover fanfiction.
I don't own anything from Pokémon or Hazbin Hotel.
Only my original characters belong to me.~~
This story starts out in the Sinoh Region.
It was a bright, sunny day in Sandgem Town.
The small town contained a Pokémon center, a research lab, a mart, and a few houses.
A young woman with curly, brown hair and blue eyes emerged from the Pokémon center with a fire type fox Pokémon called Flareon happily walking beside her.
Her outfit consisted of black, flat shoes, plain, black dress pants, and a white dress shirt.
She led her Flareon down the street, then into another building known as the research lab.
A man named Professor Roen greeted the woman as she approached his desk. "Good morning, ma'am, I see that you have a Flareon by your side. Are you here to receive your starter Pokémon?"
Flareon sat patiently at the woman's feet.
The young woman smiled politely and answered, "Yes, Professor, my name is Sioku Marie. I've had this Flareon since my journey in the Kantoh Region. She is my emotional support Pokémon."
"Why do you have an emotional support Pokémon?" asked Professor Roen.
"I have a mental disability called autism. This disability causes me to emotionally react to situations quicker than the average person. It also makes learning more difficult for me. I have special interests and constantly obsess over them. During my childhood, I struggled to make friends at school and other places. Most people called me weird because they didn't like my personality. They would either tease or ignore me," Sioku explained.
"That's understandable," responded Roen briefly.
Professor Roen retrieved three Pokéballs out of a drawer.
He then stepped out from behind his desk to meet Sioku.
"In these Pokéballs are three starter Pokémon: a grass type Turtwig, fire type Chimchar, and water type Piplup. Whichever starter you choose will be your partner Pokémon. That Pokémon will travel with you during your journey through the Sinoh Region," he explained.
Sioku stared at the Pokéballs curiously.
Professor Roen opened up the Pokéballs, letting each Pokémon out.
A turtle, monkey, and penguin Pokémon emerged from their Pokéballs, then surrounded Sioku happily.
Sioku grinned with admiration as she stared down at the three Pokémon.
She then looked up at Professor Roen and said, "Sir, I'll choose Piplup as my starter Pokémon."
Piplup happily jumped into Sioku's arms.
Sioku held Piplup gently as it rested against her body.
"That Piplup really seems to like you, Sioku. You've made a great choice," commented Professor Roen.
"Thank you, Professor," replied Sioku graciously.
Professor Roen handed Sioku Piplup's Pokéball along with five extras.
Sioku carefully set Piplup down, then returned the Pokémon to its Pokéball.
Lastly, Professor Roen handed Sioku a Pokédex.
Sioku pointed her newly acquired device at Turtwig and Chimchar.
The Pokédex described both Pokémon to Sioku before she stored it away in her bag.
"Thank you for everything, Professor," said Sioku politely.
"Your very welcome, Sioku, you must register for the Pokémon League at the Pokémon center before you can start challenging the eight gyms here in Sinoh. I wish you the best of luck on your journey. Travel safely," replied Professor Roen.
Sioku waved at Professor Roen before exiting the research lab with Flareon by her side.
She and Flareon exited Sandgem Town to the north on Route 202.
The warm sun shined down on them as they traveled leisurely up a grassy path.
Flareon's tail swayed gently in the breeze.
A rustling sound coming from a nearby bush suddenly stopped Sioku and Flareon in their tracks.
Sioku stood completely still, listening intently to the noise.
Flareon slowly circled her trainer while sniffing the grass.
Picking up a new scent, Flareon moved toward the bush to follow it.
"Be careful, Flareon," warned Sioku.
Flareon's ears perked back in response.
Sioku watched Flareon as she lowered herself to the ground with fighting intent.
Flareon let out a warning growl while staring at the bush.
"Flareon, what are you growling at?" asked Sioku.
The fox ignored Sioku and defensively raised her tail in the air.
A dog-like creature fiercely crawled out of the bush, then growled back at Flareon.
The hairs on its back stood straight up.
Sioku quickly pulled out her Pokédex, then pointed it at the creature.
The creature was an electric Pokémon called Shinx.
"Oh my gosh, that Pokémon is so cute! I want to catch it," she said cheerfully.
She stepped toward Flareon who stood directly in front of Shinx.
"Flareon, would you like to battle that Pokémon?" asked Sioku.
Flareon wagged her tail wildly in response.
Shinx faced Flareon with its tail sparking with determination.
Sioku smiled at Shinx in admiration.
"Okay, Flareon, use flame thrower," she commanded.
A stream of fire shot from Flareon's mouth and struck Shinx in its back.
The wounded Shinx stumbled backward in pain.
Rising to its feet, Shinx released electric sparks from the end of its tail in Flareon's direction.
Flareon waved the sparks away with her fluffy tail.
"Now use iron tail, Flareon," Sioku instructed.
Flareon charged forward, then smacked Shinx with a powerful iron tail attack.
Shinx crashed to the ground with a thud.
Flareon stepped away from Shinx, allowing it to have some space.
Shinx lay motionless on the floor.
Sioku retrieved an empty Pokéball from her bag, then threw it at the defeated Pokémon.
A force of energy pulled Shinx into the Pokéball.
The ball wobbled a few times before it clicked shut.
Sioku picked up the Pokéball, then held it high in the air victoriously.
"We did it, Flareon! I just caught Shinx!" she cheered.
Flareon nuzzled Sioku's arm in return.
Sioku and Flareon then continued walking up the path that led to Jubilife City.
Sioku paused abruptly as she spotted a bird-like Pokémon flying above her head.
She pointed her Pokédex up at the flying creature.
The creature was a flying type bird Pokémon called Starly.
"I want to catch that one too," Sioku thought with an excited grin.
Sioku pressed the button on Piplup's Pokéball and said, "Piplup, I choose you!"
The water type penguin Pokémon, Piplup, emerged from its Pokéball and stood in front of Sioku.
"Piplup, it's time to battle. Use bubble on that Starly," said Sioku as she stood in place.
Piplup propelled itself into the air, then shot a stream of bubbles at Starly.
Starly descended quickly, then tackled Piplup to the ground.
"Fight back with pound," Sioku instructed.
Piplup rose to its feet and pounded its beak into Starly's back.
Starly crashed to the floor with a thud.
"Let's finish this battle with peck," she added.
Piplup repeatedly pecked at Starly with its beak.
Starly didn't move from its spot on the ground.
Sioku pulled an empty Pokéball out of her bag, then threw it at the defeated Pokémon.
The ball wobbled a few times before it clicked shut around Starly.
Sioku picked up the occupied Pokéball and held it high in the air.
"We did it, Piplup! You and I have a new friend," she said cheerfully.
Piplup posed victoriously in return.
Sioku returned Piplup to its Pokeball, then proceeded to enter Jubilife City with Flareon trotting beside her.
The city contained a Pokémon center, a mart, a set of condominiums, a Pokétch Company, and a Tv station.
A Pokémon contest was going to take place in Jubilife City very soon.
Sioku immediately entered the Pokémon center to register her Pokédex and get her team healed up.
"Good morning, Nurse Joy, my name is Sioku. I'm here to register for the Sinoh League and restore my Pokémon," said Sioku as she approached the front desk.
"Hello, Sioku, welcome to the Pokémon center. I would be glad to help you," the nurse replied with a friendly smile.
Sioku retrieved her Pokédex and handed it to Nurse Joy.
Nurse Joy placed the device on a scanner.
"Okay, Sioku, you are officially registered for the Sinoh League. I can tend to your Pokémon now," said Nurse Joy.
Sioku returned Flareon to its Pokéball before placing all four of her Pokémon into the tray on Nurse Joy's desk.
She waited patiently as Nurse Joy healed her Pokémon.
"Sioku, your Pokémon are healthy and ready to go. Please feel free to come again, Nurse Joy said as she set the tray down on her desk.
"Thank you very much," Sioku replied as she retrieved her Pokéballs.
Sioku then let Flareon out of her ball.
Flareon happily ran circles around Sioku.
Sioku giggled as she ruffled her companion's fur.
"I'm glad to see you too, Flareon," she said.
She and Flareon exited the Pokémon center, then traveled onto Route 203 to the north.
They stopped near the entrance to a cave.
A small pond sat beside the cave surrounded by a patch of grass.
Flareon calmly explored the surrounding area.
Sioku decided to train her Pokémon while the sun was still out.
She held up two of her Pokéballs.
"Piplup, Shinx, come on out!" she shouted confidently.
The two Pokémon emerged from their Pokéballs and stood in front of each other.
"Use thunder shock, Shinx," Sioku commanded.
Shinx fired an electric shock at Piplup.
"Piplup, dodge it and dive under the water," she instructed.
Piplup evaded Shinx' thunder shock by surrounding itself with bubbles, then dove into the lake.
Shinx stood intently by the water's edge and waited for piplup to come up to the surface.
"Shinx, use tackle as soon as Piplup comes up," said Sioku.
Right as Piplup reached the surface, Shinx propelled itself into the air using its hind legs and then tackled Piplup to the ground.
"Piplup, use bubble to free yourself," Sioku commanded.
Piplup shot a more powerful stream of bubbles upward, causing Shinx to slide off.
Sioku stared at her penguin Pokémon's move in awe and gasped.
"Wo... that almost looked like bubble beam," she thought.
She then turned back to Piplup and added, "Use pound on Shinx from behind.
Piplup slowly crept toward Shinx from behind, then struck it with a direct pound attack.
Electric sparks rapidly built up inside Shinx' body as it became startled.
Shinx released those sparks from the end of its tail.
"Look out, Piplup!" Sioku called to her Pokemon.
The sparks hit Piplup one after the other.
Piplup stumbled backward in pain.
"Nice move, Shinx," Sioku praised.
Shinx wagged its tail in return.
Sioku returned both Pokémon to their Pokéballs.
"You guys have had enough training for now. I'm really proud of your progress," she said happily.
Flareon rejoined Sioku before they reversed their rout back to Jubilife City.
The sun was just about to set in the sky.
Sioku and Flareon entered the Pokémon center once again.
Nurse Joy kindly helped the two settle into a room for the night.
Sioku closed the door behind her, then set her bag down on a wooden dresser across the room.
Flareon hopped onto the bed, then situated herself under the covers.
Sioku changed into a set of pajamas before brushing her hair in front of the mirror.
She let the rest of her Pokémon out of their Pokéballs, then settled into bed with them.
Sioku closed her eyes and slowly drifted off into the darkness.
Unfortunately, Sioku's dream was nowhere near peaceful.
~Dream~
Sioku found herself back at the trainer school in Aspertia City.
Sioku was 13 years old, and she hadn't become a Pokémon trainer yet.
The school day had just ended.
Many students ran crazily up and down the walkways.
Sioku was walking back home and minding her own business when her mother's best friend Julie came running after Her.
Sioku had been lost in her own thoughts, so she didn't notice Julie.
The broun haired girl suddenly came to a halt, then turned around to look at Julie.
"What's up, Mis Julie?" asked Sioku casually.
"Sioku, you won't be going home today. I'm bringing you to my house instead," answered the black haired woman.
Sioku was immediately surprised by the sudden change in her plans.
"Really? Why is that?" Sioku continued calmly.
"Your mother just informed me that she had left to go on a business trip for the weekend. She'll be back on Sunday," Julie explained.
Deep down, Sioku was very nervous about staying at Julie's house for the weekend.
She also wasn't happy about being in the same place as her spoiled daughter, Mira.
"All right," Sioku agreed reluctantly.
Julie led Sioku to her car which had been parked in the back of a parking lot.
Sioku climbed into the passenger side while Julie situated herself in the driver's seat.
Julie started the car's engine, then drove away.
Neither of them said a word to each other during the ride.
Twenty minutes later, Julie parked the car in front of her house.
Sioku hopped out of the car as soon as it came to a complete stop.
Once outside her car, Julie led Sioku through the gate.
Sioku admired all of the plants as she and Julie passed by them.
They then climbed up a flight of cemented stairs that led to her front porch.
Julie opened the door, then allowed Sioku to enter her house first.
Sioku cautiously stepped inside the house in fear of what to expect.
Her heart started to race with anxiety as she proceeded into the living room.
Sioku plopped down on the nearest couch and sighed heavily.
A news report was playing on the flat screen Tv.
"Sioku, the guest room is available for you to sleep in for the next two nights. Please go and put your backpack in there," said Julie.
"Yes, ma'am," replied Sioku as she stood up.
She started to walk down the hallway as quickly as possible.
Before Sioku could enter her temporary room, Mira sauntered over to the broun haired girl with an innocent grin on her face.
Seeing Mira smile like that made Sioku cringe internally.
She shoved those bad thoughts to the back of her mind and smiled back.
"Hi, Mira, what brings you here?" Sioku greeted politely.
"Hey, Sioku, I just want to hang out with you this weekend. We could have a couple of girls' nights," the black haired girl answered gleefully.
In that moment, Sioku's jaw dropped in total disbelief.
Sioku just could not believe the friendly words that she had been hearing out of that usually bratty girl.
"What in the world is going on here? Why did Mira stop calling me Sad Sioku all of a sudden?" she thought with a confused expression.
Sioku brushed those thoughts aside and finally decided to play along with Mira's little mind game.
"Okay, Mira, I'll hang out with you while I'm here. I need to drop off my backpack first," she said hesitantly.
"Come in my room when you're done," Mira replied before she skipped away.
Sioku stepped into the guest room with a heavy sigh.
"What did I just get myself into?" she thought fearfully.
After placing her backpack on the desk, Sioku immediately hurried across the hall and into Mira's bedroom.
She and Mira spent the next few hours watching short videos and playing games.
~Time Skip to After Dinner~
The young girls had just settled down on a couch in Mira's bedroom.
Mira used a remote to turn on her Tv.
"Hey, Sioku, do you want to watch a movie?" she asked.
"Sure," answered Sioku briefly.
Sioku watched the screen with a mix of curiosity and anticipation in her expression.
Little did she know, her mood was about to take a turn for the worse.
That movie turned out to be a horror film.
In the movie, a person's Tv was being invaded by a malevolent spirit.
The demon had a monotonous, creepy, male computer voice.
The demon would speak as it adjust the settings at random moments.
Chills crawled up Sioku's spine every time she heard it.
Sioku attempted to suppress her fears by putting up a brave face and blocking out the voice.
However, that robotic voice was slowly beginning to sink into her mind.
Their movie had reached its climax when Sioku started to have a panic attack from all of her built up anxiety.
A wave of dizziness crashed into the frightened girl.
Sioku's heart pounded rapidly in her chest.
Sweat covered Sioku's body as she panted heavily.
She struggled to keep her breathing under control.
"Mira... I can't... stay in here any longer. I... need to go," said Sioku breathlessly.
"Sioku, don't be a sissy. It's just a movie," Mira replied with a glare.
Sioku glared back at Mira and continued roughly, "I should've known that you were up to something terrible."
"What are you talking about?" asked Mira dumbfounded.
"I am not allowed to watch horror movies yet!" Sioku yelled furiously.
"You're such a baby, Sad Sioku," Mira muttered.
Sioku only shook her head at that, not wanting to entertain Mira any further.
With all of her will power, Sioku forced herself to stand up and bolted out of Mira's bedroom.
Sioku closed the guest room door behind her, then climbed into bed.
The room was dark and silent.
Sioku's panic attack wasn't close to being finished.
That creepy, robotic voice from the movie played over and over in her head.
Thinking about her mom's Pokémon didn't help ease Sioku's mind in the slightest.
Sioku curled into a ball on her side and trembled violently under the covers.
~End Dream~
Sioku gasped deeply as she shook herself awake.
The girl's heart pounded rapidly in her chest.
Sioku struggled to control her heavy breathing as she curled up into herself.
Tears rolled down Sioku's cheeks as frightened whimpers escaped her.
A glowing, circular portal suddenly appeared beside Sioku's bed, causing her to look at the light briefly.
In the midst of Sioku's panic attack, she heard a gentle, male voice with a slight accent speak softly in her mind. "Try to calm down, mis,I'm here to help you. Please come with me."
Sioku wanted to follow the telepathic voice, but she was held in place by her fears.
The complete silence in Sioku's room only made her anxiety worse.
She remained curled up on the bed, still shivering and breathing heavily.
Beads of sweat rolled down her forehead.
The male voice spoke to Sioku again, still gentle as it was the first time. "It's okay, mis, I won't hurt you. You're going to be all right. My friends and I can save you."
"Who are you?" asked Sioku shakily.
"My name is Angel Dust, and you don't have to be afraid. I can take you to a safe place," the voice answered calmly.
Sioku thought about the mysterious voice as she tried to slow down her racing heart by breathing deeply.
She tried to let the gentle voice ease her mind.
"All you have to do is enter the portal, mis, and I'll meet you on the other side. You can do it," encouraged the telepathic voice.
Sioku looked at the portal, then back at her Pokémon.
She grabbed Flareon, then returned her other Pokémon to their Pokéballs.
Flareon nuzzled her head against Sioku's neck.
"You and I could use an adventure. Let's get out of here," she whispered to Flareon.
The fox happily shook off in agreement.
Sioku couldn't help but giggle as she petted Flareon under her ears.
Taking a deep breath, Sioku slowly moved to the edge of her bed.
Sioku held Flareon tight as she let herself slip into the glowing portal.
A force of energy quickly pulled the trainer and her Pokemon downward.
Sioku closed her eyes tightly during their descent.
As soon as they landed, Sioku slowly opened her eyes.
The girl found herself and Flareon laying on the ground.
Flareon stretched her body, then shook off with relief.
Sioku carefully pulled herself up into a sitting position, then scanned the surrounding area.
She spotted a sign nearby that read: Hazbin Hotel.
"This is strange, Flareon. I wonder why we ended up here," said Sioku out loud.
Flareon began to sniff the new area with curiosity.
Sioku heard footsteps coming from behind and turned around.
She spotted a spider-like creature with white fur moving toward her.
"I found you, pretty lady," he greeted with a bright smile.
Sioku gasped as she recognized the gentle, accented voice.
She didn't seem intimidated by the spider's demonic appearance.
"Angel Dust, is that you?" she responded with a hopeful expression.
The spider demon sat down beside her and answered, "It sure is, I'm pleased to meet you. I never got your name though."
"My name is Sioku Marie, and I'm a Pokemon trainer. It's a pleasure to meet you as well. Thank you for talking to me, Angel Dust. You saved me from a panic attack," said Sioku sincerely.
Sioku shivered as she thought about the terrifying events of her previous nightmare.
Angel Dust wrapped an arm around Sioku's shoulder and replied, "You're welcome, Sioku, I couldn't let you suffer like that. My boss, Valintino, makes me suffer every day. I don't like seeing other people in pain."
Sioku immediately started to relax in his calming presence.
Her heart fluttered at Angel's close contact with her.
A blush came to Sioku's cheeks, making Angel giggle at the sight.
"You're so cute, Sioku," he complemented.
Sioku petted the demon's head in return.
Angel affectionately pulled Sioku closer to him.
The girl snuggled against Angel, accepting his kind gesture.
A brief period of silence passed by as the two relaxed together.
"Angel, how did you know I needed help?" asked Sioku curiously.
"I can sense when somebody's in danger from miles away," answered the demon.
"Hey, Sioku, why were you having a panic attack?" inquired Angel.
"I had a recurring nightmare about a traumatic event from my past. A mean girl named Mira convinced me to watch a horror movie with her when she and I were teenagers," answered Sioku quietly.
Before Angel Dust could respond, Sioku bowed her head and closed her eyes tightly.
The robotic voice from Sioku's dream echoed in her mind, causing the girl to freeze in place.
A wave of chills rapidly crawled up her spine.
Her body suddenly began to convulse uncontrollably.
Angel noticed it and became startled.
"Sioku! Are you all right? What's going on?" he shouted frantically.
There was no response from the girl.
She collapsed over Angel and slipped into the dark void of unconsciousness.
"Sioku! Sioku!" hollered Angel as he shook her gently.
Sioku lay motionless in Angel's lap.
The concerned demon wrapped Sioku up in his arms and held her close.
"Don't worry, Sioku, I'll get you some help. I promise," he assured while picking her up.
Angel stood up quickly, then bolted toward the hotel building.
Flareon trailed behind him while panting and wagging her tail.
With a determined expression, Angel burst through the hotel doors and ran inside.
Flareon rushed in behind him to catch up with her trainer.
A tall, male demon with black hair and deer antlers saw Angel running by.
He decided to follow his friend down the corridor.
"Angel! Wait up!" called the antlered demon after him.
Angel turned around as soon as he reached the elevator doors, an annoyed look on his face.
"Alastor, I'm busy at the moment. What do you want?" he responded roughly.
Alastor paused immediately when he saw Sioku lying unconscious in Angel's arms.
"Angel, where have you been? Also, how did you find this girl?" asked Alastor.
"This girl's name is Sioku, and I just met her not too long ago. She arrived here through a portal," Angel explained.
"Why is she unconscious?" Alastor inquired.
"Sioku randomly started shaking out of nowhere, then passed out on me. I rushed her here as soon as he could," answered Angel frantically.
"I'll help you get her up to your room," said Alastor as he pushed a button on the elevator door.
"Thank you, Alastor," Angel replied quietly.
Flareon pushed passed the two demons and entered the elevator before it could close.
Once inside the elevator, Angel, Flareon, and Alastor were taken up to an upper floor.
Alastor looked down at Flareon, then up at Angel.
"Who is this creature?" he asked.
"That creature probably belongs to Sioku. I don't know anything about it yet," answered Angel while staring at the girl's sleeping form.
"The creature seems harmless, and it really cares about this girl. I will allow it to stay by her side," Alastor added.
Flareon wagged her tail gently as she listened to the demons' conversation.
As soon as the door opened, Alastor led Angel down the hall and into a room.
Angel carefully laid Sioku down on his bed, then sat beside her.
He stroked her hair soothingly, hoping she would wake up soon.
"I'll be right here when you wake up," he said softly.
Flareon jumped onto the bed, then curled herself up against Sioku's back and fell asleep.
"I'll leave you two alone now," whispered Alastor as he exited Angel's room.
Angel smiled and waved back at him.
A long period of silence passed by as Angel waited patiently for Sioku to wake up.
