Sierra glanced at all the birthday wishes on her Facebook page. Her heart was full with all the good wishes from her family and friends. She truly treasured them all and was lucky to have them in her life. But as much as she loved them there was always something missing. Or rather someone missing. The one wish she had more than anything was to meet her idol Judith Light.
In a way she felt like she had when her good friend Renata met her about a month ago and graciously shared the moment by joining a video chat that another friend Cindy had organized when they had all found out that Renata and her friend Iram were actually with Judith and Robert. To say that those who were in the chat at the time and got to say hi to Judith were overwhelmed with excitement, shock, and bewilderment was definitely an understatement. In truth it was only about ten to fifteen seconds but the memory of that moment would last a lifetime
Sierra was truly happy for Renata because she knew how much she admired her. And hey if it happened for Renata it was possible that one day it could happen for her. She then recalled the post Jami had shared yesterday highlighting her visit to Manny's Bistro along with two other Who's The Boss? Fans Barbara and Meghan. Tony Danza had been there entertaining the crowd with some singing and dancing and while Sierra had commented that she would love to meet Tony it was Judith she wanted to meet most of all.
"Well maybe someday." She mused to herself. She glanced outside. It was a beautiful day and the weather was currently 72 degrees with a slight breeze. She decided to take a quick walk before her family took her out later for her birthday dinner. She put on her shoes and grabbed her phone and headed outside. She started walking down her street to her favorite park so she could enjoy the beautiful weather. Because she knew in a day or two it could either get very hot or rain-since this was Ohio after all where the weather could and did change every five minutes!
After about ten minutes she arrived at the park and sat down at her favorite bench. It overlooked a field of sunflowers and the contrast of them against the bright blue sky was breathtaking.
She glanced at her phone and saw a few more happy birthday messages.
"Hello excuse me? Would you mind if I had a seat?" A voice asked from above.
Sierra nodded her eyes still on her phone.
"Sure that would be fine.' She glanced up and nearly dropped her phone when she saw who it was.
Judith. Judith Light was standing above her. Her smile was as bright as the sun.
"Thank you sweetheart." Judith smiled and sat down.
Sierra was flabbergasted. Was she dreaming? Did she hit her head and was hallucinating?
What in the world was going on?
"Ummm okay I know this is a dumb question but you're Judith Light right?"
Judith laughed. "I am. And what's your name honey?"
"It's Sierra."
"Sierra. That's a beautiful name"
Sierra blushed. "Thank you Ms. Light."
"Oh no, no no! None of that Ms. Light nonsense. The name is Judith."
"Okay Judith. Oh gosh I can't believe you are actually here sitting beside me! I have wanted to meet you for so long and when my friend Renata met you about a month ago…"
"Wait a minute. You're friends with Renata?"
"Yes, we are very good friends."
Judith laughed. "Well I guess it's true what they say, it's a small world after all."
Sierra smiled. "Yes, it is."
"So, just out of curiosity, are you here in Cincinnati on business?"
Judith nodded. "There's a possibility I may star in a new movie on Netflix that will take place in Cincinnati. So I thought I would fly out and check things out."
"Oh that's so cool! Can you tell me anything about the movie?"
"Oh well for now there isn't much to tell. It's still in the beginning stages. But if I do get the part I will be visiting here a lot more often."
"Oh that sounds amazing! I hope you get the part!"
"Thank you my dear. Okay now enough about me. When I approached you earlier you seemed a little distracted. Is everything okay?"
"Okay? Oh my gosh everything is wonderful! I mean sitting here and talking to you on my birthday no less…."
"It's your birthday? Oh sweetheart! Happy Birthday!"
"Oh thank you so much Judith."
"You are very welcome."
"Ummm Judith if it's not too much trouble could I have a few pictures of you and me?"
"Of course sweetheart. Anything for the birthday girl!"
Sierra took out her phone and clicked a few pictures of the two of them.
"Oh thank you so much! This was the best birthday ever and the best surprise ever!"
"Oh honey I'm so happy I could make your birthday a day you will never forget."
"Oh, I will never forget this day."
They both stood up
"Well it was so nice to meet you, Sierra. I hope you have a lovely rest of your day."
"Thank you."
"Would you mind if I gave you a birthday hug?"
Sierra was at a loss for words. Judith. Judith Light wanted to give her a birthday hug!
"Oh my God! That would be amazing! I mean I would love that! I…. oh man I'm blabbing aren't I?!"
Judith chuckled. 'Oh that's okay. I am actually quite flattered."
Before anything else was said Judith pulled her into her arms and gave her a warm and affectionate hug. After a few moments she released her.
"Happy Birthday Sierra." She smiled.
"Thank you."
With another smile and a wink Judith turned and walked the other way.
Sierra collapsed on the bench, Her heart pounding and her mind racing.
She had just met Judith Light.
On her birthday.
The one gift she wanted more than anything.
She knew she would never forget this day.
The day her fondest wish finally came true.
