Day and Night

Chapter 35

"The Quarrymen did WHAT?" Eliza Maza blinked at Matt Bluestone.

"Attacked one of Tony Dacon's gambling houses, trashed the place," Matt noted.

(YES, the cops knew about the illegal gambling house. However they couldn't prove, legally, who was running it. And shutting this one down would, at best, only slow down Tony a bit until he could set it up elsewhere.)

"Why?" a third cop asked, frowning.

Alicia frowned, "Well, word has gotten around that Demona saved Dacon from a hit, maybe the Quarrymen think he's a Gargoyle ally?"

"Which is bullshit, but if someone convinced them of it," Matt shrugged. "The Quarrymen are fanatics, in their own way."

"So we now have crazy dudes in POWERED ARMOR in the gang war," Maria Chavez noted, the police captain entering the room.

"Ma'am!" several stood at attention.

"Relax, everyone," Maria waved it off. Briskly she continued, "So, the Mayor called, he is NOT happy about the Quarrymen."

"Yet when we outlawed the Gargoyles he loved 'em," Eliza muttered.

Maria ignored that.

"We are NOT equipped to fight guys in power suits," Matt noted.

"Agreed," Maria nodded, "but we need to do SOMETHING."

"SWAT team snipers shoot at the faceplates?" a officer suggested.

"That'd be straight up murder," Maria shook her head.

Eliza sighed, "Xanatos' armored suits?"

Matt paused, "You mean ask him for help, or borrow a few suits?"

"Either one," Eliza shrugged.

Maria groaned, "The Mayor will not be happy owning him another favour."

Before anything else could be said the door to the meeting room slammed open. "The Pack have been sighed... fighting the Quarrymen!"

"WHAT?!"

Gargoyles, Alicia decided, were very, VERY attentive lovers.

Dominique brought her home with her that night, and, again, offered her a chance to leave. Gargoyles were also weirdly honorable.

Alicia kissed her in reply, with tongue, which seemed to reassure her.

Dominique shifted to Demona as the night fell, then the gorgeous Gargoyle laid her on the bed, then proceeded to ravage her tirelessly for HOURS. Alicia had never orgasmed so much in one night, and she had only stopped when Alicia collapsed, exhausted.

"There's one thing I'm a bit annoyed at," Alicia noted as they drove to work.

"Oh?" Dominique asked, giving her a smouldering look.

Alicia looked across the back seat as she purred, "You didn't let me reciprocate."

Dominique looked a bit startled, "I didn't..."

"unless you don't want me to," Alicia added.

"It's not that," Dominique admitted, "our bodies are.. different. I'm not sure you'd like it."

Alicia smiled impishly, "We'll never know until we try."

Dominique smiled back, "Fair enough."

Alicia looked out the window, seeing they were nearly at Nightstone. "How is training Chris going?" she asked.

Dominique made a face, "He's coming along."

"I can talk to him," Alicia offered.

"It's fine," Dominique smiled. She added, "I have gotten SEVERAL memos from Jessica Nicholes singing your praises."

Alicia blushed.

Dominique looked at her, amused, "What did you DO?"

Alicia shook her head, "Maxine, her last assistant, was either incompetent or was deliberately screwing with her."

"That bad?" Dominique blinked.

Alicia shrugged awkwardly.

In another city, night time, a 'businessman' was in his office.

Alphonso Roux was a powerful man, but he had crossed someone elen more powerful. Unaware, he went about his business.

"Mr Roux," the security guard radioed him, "your... guest is here."

"Send her up," Alphonso ordered.

Alphonso liked to order company from a certain high priced madam. Once or twice a week, a redhead was sent over, and arrived at about the same time.

The redhead was dressed in a trench coat, her smile cool as she emerged from the elevator and walked to the office.

"Off with the coat," Alphonso ordered.

"Hmm," the redhead agreed, dropping the coat and revealing she was nude.

"Nice," Alphonso muttered as she stalked towards him.

Now, if he had been thinking he might have wondered how a nearly naked woman had gotten there. Or why she didn't talk. Alas, at that point, it was too late.

"Hsss!" her jaw unhinged and she sprayed him with acidic venom.

"AIEEEE!" he creamed, staggering backwards.

Wordlessly she extended her finger blades and finished him off. In moments, blood painted the walls.

The hapless security guard heard the screams and yelling and rushed in, gun drawn. "Holy shit," he started weakly.

She leapt at him, too, bringing him down in a moment.

"Damn," Anton Sevarius noted, hitting the self destruct command before his new 'assassin' creature could kill anyone else.

"Messy," Fiona Canmore noted, the older woman having watched the test remotely via a secured zoom meeting.

"This was the prototype," Anton waved that off, "and I would say the test was a success. Target eliminated, and she'll be found dead with no evidence leading to you."

Fiona smirked. "But they'll trace it back to you. Your work is quite distinct," Fiona noted.

"So," Anton shrugged, clearly not caring.

"They are effective," Fiona conceded, "we'll contact you when we need a target eliminated."

Jon Canmore had seen some stuff, both as a Hunter and now leader of the Quarrymen. Still, that had NOT prepared him for the Pack.

(They're being jumped by them was inevitable, of course. To build up his group he HAD to have meetings, and they couldn't be THAT covert, or no one could learn. So the Pack had found them,. and attacked.)

"Get in the armor!" Jon ordered, "Keep firing!"

MOST of his men had just fled, damn it. But some were using the laster rifles to try to keep the Pack back. But the cyborgs and augments weren't easily stopped.

Hyena ignored being shot and grabbed a fighter. "Wait, I..." he started.

"Oops," Hyena casually killed him.

"Try to avoid killing," Wolf called, "we want to question them!"

"Ha!" Panther barked as she leaped on another guy, punching him in the face.

Coyote dodged around a attacker, then kicked his lets out from under him. "Why? It's not like we're cops," he asked.

"We need to know who sent them after Mr Dakon," Jackal noted.

Jon Canmore silently cursed that damned Charity. SHE had urged them to attack Tony Dakon, claiming he was a Gargoyle ally! Damn her!

Jon got the armor on, firing up the systems. "Withdrawl!: he yelled, "Or you will be slain!"

'\who actually uses slain in a sentence?" Hyena laughed.

"Him, apparently," Panther drawled as the three armored figured advanced.

"Take Canmore alive," Jackal ordered as they attacked, "kill the rest."

"Oh shit," one of the Quarrymen whimpered.

'We are SO fucked,' Jon thought as they tore them apart.

To be continued!

Notes: I notice this fic gets gorier over time. Huh.
