Tenko sat quietly in the bar, Nintendo switch in hand, comforting babble of his family in the background.

Touya was trying to teach Himiko how to open her blood packets on her own because, "What if you get hungry at school? I can't come in!"

Himiko was protesting loudly, "I could just ask Izu-chan!"

"He'll be busy!" He hissed back.

Tenko tuned them out after that in favour of noting what the rest of his family were up to.

Uncle Oboro bustled around behind the bar, tidying and wiping down the counters as he bobbed his head to whatever was playing on his bluetooth headphones. Dad sat next to Tenko, reading a newspaper article on some bizarre quirks that had popped up recently.

Asuka was out on a date with Natsuo and might come back this evening, but they could never really be sure.

A knock suddenly broke through the bar, silencing Touya and Himiko's fight. A pause, and the knock came again: louder this time.

Hisashi furrowed his eyebrows and called out, "Hello?"

With a loud crash, the door flew off his hinges, a crackling green lightning filling the doorway. It looked eerie, illuminating the wooden walls.

Izuku clenched his fists as he turned his gaze towards Tenko. He looked nothing short of murderous. "How dare you," he hissed, and then louder, "How fucking dare you?"

Tenko placed his switch behind him on the counter, eyes never leaving his brother. "What?" he asked.

Izuku stepped forward. "You know what you did," he growled, stepping forward. "You invaded UA to spar with Shouta. To spar? You sent my classmates off with random people ready to kill. Most of them were injured! And as if that wasn't enough, you told the monster to kill All Might while pointing at Shouta. You left him to die. He nearly did!"

Izuku walked slowly forward with every sentence until he stood just a metre in front of Tenko who had frozen, back pressed up against the bar.

"Mum died a month ago and you're already willing to kill someone else. How dare you."

"I wasn't trying to kill my brother!" he protested, though he knew it was a weak argument. He should've been more careful.

"You say that," Izuku snapped before he turned to the others. "And you, you just let him do this?"

Dabi shook his head. "I was out. Didn't know."

Hisashi swallowed. "It was my idea but I forgot to tell Tenko not to after Inko– Inko died."

Izuku raised an eyebrow incredulously, "This was your idea, of course. I would've thought that we'd be more important to you, but then again… you are a villain. First you leave us, then after you come back, Shouta almost fucking dies!" Tears were pouring down his cheeks and Izuku was furiously blinking them away, lightning still flashing over his body.

Tenko bit his tongue, trying and failing to not start crying too. Izuku would not be saying any of this usually.

"I tried to point at All Might," he said brokenly. "I am so sorry Izuku."

His brother's lip trembled before he burst into tears. Tenko sniffled, wiping at his eyes with the back of his hand as he wrapped his free arm around Izuku.

"I'm sorry," he repeated.

"I'm sorry too," Izuku breathed.

Hisashi pulled both of them into his arms. "I apologise for making you think I felt like that, Izuku."

"I was being dramatic."

Hisashi shook his head. "No, your thoughts were completely justified. I shouldn't have left you."

Izuku looked up to give him a shaky smile, blinking very fast. "My eyes hurt," he said quietly.

Everyone laughed.

"I can imagine," Tenko giggled. "Uncle Oboro, can you get Izu some water, please?"

Himiko stood up and joined the hug. "I'm sorry." They all looked up at her strangely.

"What for?"

She paused, frowned, and replied, "I don't actually know. But sorry anyway!" Himiko smiled at all of them.

Touya snickered. "Well in that case, I humbly apologise for whatever you good Sirs and Madam have taken in a negative way." He gave them a low bow.

Himiko shoved him lightly. "Shut up, posh guy."

"Fucking vampire," Touya muttered, moving around to give the other side of the group a hug, purposely not getting anywhere close to Himiko whose eye twitched.

"Fuck you, bitch," The blond bit out, ignoring Hisashi's reprimand of, 'No swearing!'

Touya grimaced and shook his head. "Yuck. No thank you. I am completely gay-"

Izuku interrupted him with a gasp. "Gay for who?"

"The birdie-" Touya replied without thinking before cutting himself off, face going bright red

Himiko grabbed his arm, a crazed look in her eyes. "Who's the birdie? Who're you fucking?"

"Fu-fucking?" Touya spluttered. "N-no, we're not doing that yet."

Hisashi stood up and left with a murmur of, "I did not need to know that."

Tenko followed him.

Izuku told them he couldn't stay for supper because Hizashi had cooked. Uncle Oboro nodded and gave his sort-of-nephew a cuddle.

"I want to see Hizashi again sometime," he said.

The subsequent conversation sparked more than a few tears when Uncle Oboro found out that his old best friends were coming around for dinner the next day.

The man had run out of the bar, into the pouring rain, and screamed. He refused to scream inside; 'proper manners,' he said when asked why. They all knew he just liked the rain.

Izuku gave his dad back the monster's quirks and Hisashi in return told him about the noumu experiment, officially named Project Delta: a test to see how many quirks a human could hold before they, ultimately, imploded.

Izuku raged for another thirty minutes after that, before Hisashi calmed him down long enough to tell him that the noumu they were currently using were Izuku's old bullies.

Yeah, that perhaps wasn't the best thing to say.

Another half an hour of screaming later, Izuku was situated on the sofa, where he stayed until he received a text from Shouta saying that supper was almost done.

Everyone gave him a hug, including Touya, much to Izuku's delight, as the fire-user didn't usually touch people all that much.

Izuku reminded Uncle Oboro that Hizashi would be at the bar the next day, and left through a portal to get back to the apartment just as the table was being set.

Dinner conversation was absent for once, the family choosing to just appreciate each other's company in silence. It was nice, Izuku decided, to sit and think as he ate. Despite what most people thought, he was very much an introvert like his brother.

Hizashi announced as they sat watching TV that there would be a shopping trip before lunch tomorrow so that Hitoshi and Izuku could get what they needed to move into the dorms. He insisted that they make lists of what they each needed to buy. Shouta was adamant that he would remember what to get, and that he did not need a piece of paper.

He was threatened with the couch.

Shouta made a list.

That night, Izuku slept without either dreams or nightmares for once. He woke feeling rested and excited for the day ahead.

So did he need coffee? No. Did he have two mugs of it anyway? Yes.

Surprisingly enough, their shopping trip didn't take too long. After visiting a few places in the Kiyashi Ward mall – namely a clothes store, a department store, and a hero merch store for good measure – they drove back to the apartment for lunch, after which they played Monopoly until they had to head to the bar.

The reunion was messy. Hizashi slapped Oboro lightly for not telling him that he was still alive, but he didn't say why he slapped his friend so Oboro thought they were playing the 'slap-as-hard-as-you-can' game from UA and proceeded to slap Hizashi much harder. And then they both started crying; Hizashi because he was both sad and physically hurt, and Oboro because he had made Hizashi cry.

Hisashi made them all Katsudon, letting the teenagers and young adults watch a movie in the living room of his house while the older adults ate in the dining room.

Himiko requested Captain Marvel but Touya denied it, saying that he got to choose as he was the oldest. Izuku subsequently revoked his movie picking privileges by pointing out that Touya didn't deserve movie rights after being naughty and not telling Izuku and Himiko that he was dating someone.

They all found it extremely amusing that Touya didn't say anything to that, instead choosing to eat his dinner in silence while the rest of them watched Captain Marvel.

When Shouta rounded them up to get Izuku and Hitoshi back for bed, Hizashi and Oboro took the liberty to slap each other once more before hugging. Himiko campaigned for Izuku and Hitoshi to stay the night 'pretty please with two shots of espresso on top'. Shouta laughed as he explained that Izuku and Hitoshi had to get a lot of sleep as they would be moving into the dorms the next day so that Shouta and Hizashi had a day to get settled before their classes arrived.

Himiko pouted, yet gave him a hug and smiled at Hizashi when they left.

Shouta sent Izuku and Hitoshi to bed without coffee as he left for his patrol, much to the annoyance of the two insomniacs.

Izuku begrudgingly went to sleep with a mug of hot chocolate instead.

The next morning was… hectic.

Hizashi was a frantic packer and Izuku was ADHD – not a good match.

Izuku had absolutely no motivation to do anything other than write up his notebooks and was constantly pestered by Hizashi who was playing Muse at full volume and shoving clothes into the many suitcases on the floor. Despite Izuku explaining several times that he had already packed.

Once they'd eaten a lunch of leftovers to clear the fridge, everything was bundled into the car and they set off to UA's new dorm buildings.

Hizashi was staying in the 1-C building as opposed to the optional teachers' dorms so he was near Hitoshi who still suffered from nightmares.

Those two set off in the direction of the dorms while Izuku and Shouta opened up the door to the 1-A building. They took their shoes off by the door and set about exploring the downstairs, eventually making their way up to their own rooms.

Izuku's room was surprisingly big for a school dorm, but then again, he mused, this was UA. They certainly had both the space and materials for larger dorms than other schools.

He had great fun setting up his things, even having a spare shelf that he could use to hold his notebooks and hero merch.

Once his clothes had been put away, Izuku slid the suitcase under the bed and took the elevator down to the kitchen.

The empty kitchen, apparently.

Shouta was waiting by the door, shoes on, an impatient look in his eyes.

"Took you long enough," he drawled. "C'mon, we've got to get food."

"You have to pay for the food?" Izuku asked, incredulous.

"No, the rat does. We just have to pick it up. Stupid rat making us do all the dirty work," Shouta grumbled.

Izuku shrugged nonchalantly. "I always thought he was more of a stoat," he remarked.

The speakers crackled to life and a chipper voice rang through the downstairs area. "Right you are, Midoriya-kun. I have to say, you are one of the first to make that connection. Well done!"

Izuku grinned up at the 'security' camera above the door. "Thank you, Nedzu-sensei!"

Shouta backed away with a horrified expression as the principal spoke again. "Please drop the honorific, Midoriya-kun. Are you free tomorrow at 3PM? I'd very much like to meet you in person!"

Izuku's eyes widened. "I'll be there!" He exclaimed happily. He was meeting NEDZU!

Oh shit, he was meeting Nedzu, the smartest being on the planet.

Hopefully the principal wouldn't ask about his dad.

"What have you done?" Shouta glared at him. "Promise you won't take over the world."

Izuku smiled back. "Something," he replied and, for good measure, added, "I won't make any promises though."

Oh, Izuku had no plans of taking over the world.

The hero commission maybe, but not the world.

Izuku was glad that none of his classmates were there yet, so he got to spend time with Shouta.

They walked down to the nearest convenience store, a big one, and picked up a few bags of food to fill the kitchen cupboards. Hizashi and Hitoshi would be off to do the same later. Fortunately, UA was close to the store, as the bags were very heavy.

It took a while to organise and put away the food (Izuku and Shoua could never agree), but once they had, it was only five o'clock.

Izuku groaned at the clock, lying down on the floor. Shouta raised an eyebrow but didn't say anything.

Izuku stuck out his tongue and groaned again, flopping his limbs dramatically. "I'm bored," he complained. "Can we go see Toshi?"

Shouta sighed heavily. "I suppose…"

"Great," Izuku jumped up, grabbing his red high-tops to slip on.

He had great fun bouncing all the way to the 1-C dorms, Shouta's capture weapon flying out every now and again in a feeble attempt to calm the greenette down. Hizashi and Hitoshi already had a dinner of pizza and salad on the go, much to Shouta's exasperation.

"Oh come on, Izuku. Making me spend time with you all? I'll die," he moaned, the rest of them laughing at his exaggeration.

"You know you love us, Shou-nii," Izuku grinned.

Shouta gave him a dirty look. "Hitoshi maybe. You and Hizashi have too much energy for me."

"We love you too, Shouta," Hizashi chirped, leaning over to press a kiss to Shouta's lips. The dark-haired hero flushed and buried his head in his capture weapon with a muffled groan.

"I guess you're decent."

Izuku giggled and took a bite of his pizza, humming in appreciation.

The next morning, Shouta pulled out a pack of pastries that he'd picked up from the convenience store the day before. "Surprise!" he said in the most unenthusiastic voice possible.

Izuku ignored him, earning a hurt yelp from his brother, in favor of turning on the oven. Shouta had big mood swings in the early mornings, especially when he had to wake up before his alarm went off. (Izuku had chucked unpacked clothes at his face until he got up).

After a few mugs of coffee, they cleaned the dirty dishes before the rest of class 1-A arrived just after lunch. Izuku and Shouta made sandwiches to eat in the living room just after midday. Izuku hugged his brother for the last time in a while, and sat down in the living room, notebook in hand and news playing on the large TV.

Kirishima was the first to arrive, a Crimson Riot suitcase in tow and a few bags slung over his shoulder.

"Hey, Midoriya-san! You got here early!" He greeted cheerfully.

Izuku laughed nervously. "Actually, I got here yesterday," he said with a shrug.

Kirishima frowned. "Sorry if it comes across as insensitive, but why?"

"Ah," Izuku paused, exhaling. "My mum died recently and my brother who was looking after me was called back to work yesterday. My dad's away at the moment so he couldn't come back either. Principal Nedzu said it was okay for me to get here a day early."

The spiky-haired teen grimaced. "Sorry for asking."

Izuku shook his head. "It's alright."

"Still… Anyways, I didn't know you had a brother, Midobro! Can I call you that?"

He smiled with a small nod. "Sure! And I have two brothers and a sister, but if we're counting unofficial ones… three brothers and a sister."

Kirishima's eyes widened. "Geez, that's a lot. I'm an only child," he chuckled. "I should probably put this stuff in my room now. See you later, Midobro!"

"Bye Kirishima-san!"

After Kirishima, someone arrived every five to ten minutes, all asking how Izuku was done unpacking already. He told them that he'd arrived a day early, which stemmed into a conversation similar to the one with Kirishima every time.

Tenya arrived as one of the last, simply giving him a hug before heading up to his room. After him was Kacchan.

By that time, Kirishima, Ashido, Kaminari, and a few others were back down from their rooms. They were all sitting on the sofas watching the news and talking when Kacchan walked through the door, tugging a black suitcase behind him.

He stopped, confused, at the sight of Izuku. "Deku? Why the fuck are you here so early? Auntie must be at work still, plus you live about a thousand fucking miles away."

Kirishima interrupted, even as Izuku stood. "Bakubro? I thought you'd known Midobro for ages?"

"I have," the blond snarled. "The fuck is happening?"

Kirishima turned to Izuku. "Does Bakubro not know about your mum?"

"I thought he would," Izuku said, confused. "Kacchan, did Auntie and Uncle not tell you?"

"Tell me fucking what?"

"Mum's dead."

Kacchan froze. "What? When did this happen?"

Izuku sat back down, "About three weeks before we started here."

"The old hag never told me," Kacchan said, not shouting for once.

"Yeah, I don't know why. Maybe she didn't want you to feel too busy if you came to the funeral," Izuku mused.

A nod. "How did it happen?" The blond asked, not unkindly.

"Villain attack," Izuku answered shortly. "She was driving back from work and got hit."

Kacchan bit his lip. "Sorry," he answered gruffly, taking a few strides over to pull Izuku into an awkward hug. "Auntie was a nice lady."

"She was," Izuku agreed, feeling the familiar tears build up. He blinked them away.

Kacchan cleared his throat and pulled away. "The old fucker back from the states, then?"

Izuku giggled. "Not yet. Shou-nii's been looking after me."

"Oh," Kacchan's eyebrows raised. "Forgot he's old now. And the other one? Asu-bitch or whatever?"

"Asuka," he replied with a laugh. "She's at university."

"Right." The blond huffed and grabbed his suitcase. "I'm off, shitheads."

"Bye, Kacchan!" Izuku called after him.

"Oh. My. GOSH!" Ashido squealed, jumping up. "Best friends!"

Izuku blanched. "I'm… not so sure about that, Ashido-san."

"Nonsense!" she shouted. "And call me Mina-chan, yeah?"

"You can call me Izuku, then."

Sero grabbed the remote, turning the channel to the hero news.

It was about a new hero!

Izuku ran to the nearest sofa, grabbed his notebook and pen, and started writing.

Ashi- Mina sidled up to him to peer over his shoulder. "I didn't realise you liked hero analysis, Izu-kun."

"I love it!" he told her with a grin. Mina jumped back with a yelp, shielding her eyes.

"TOO BRIGHT!"
