The Power of Love
Once again a fierce thunderstorm raged outside Tenjin-ya.
However, inside the Master Innkeeper's chambers, Aoi...the human woman who could only cower helplessly during such turbulent situations before...now barely registered the commotion of the current weather conditions.
Instead, she simply snuggled closer between her husband and her mate as they all fell asleep close together with limbs still so entangled after their lovemaking that it almost seemed as if they were only one being...instead of three separate individuals who shared the same bed.
In truth, Aoi's blissful union to the two very different Ayakashi men by her side was why the stormy memories of her past childhood trauma no longer held sway over her. They had simply been completely overwritten by her current happiness, instead.
Because of Oodanna and Ginji, the meteorological disturbances which had once overwhelmed and terrified her were now hardly even acknowledged...much less feared. After all, in the arms of both the bold ogre and the gentle fox spirit, her once underlying association between storms and the fear of abandonment had been replaced by the absolute certainty of everlasting safety, security, and love.
In fact, how could Aoi be afraid of mere noise and lights ever again when her Hidden Realm partners always made certain to fill such previously terror-inducing nights with all-consuming passion and pleasure, instead?
Consequently, it soon became impossible for her to summon up anything but the most pleasant and blush-worthy memories...even in the midst of the loudest and roughest tempests.
Thus, Aoi knew, without a doubt, that her current serenity was only possible because the ones who had saved her back then were the same ones who cherished her so unreservedly now.
The healing power of their love had finally allowed her to be at peace with her past.
