Within an unnamed big city, a retriever dog named Whopper, wearing a black jacket, red collar with a silver tag walked with his niece and his nephew on the sidewalk. The pups are curious to ask where they're going? Whopper hasn't said where they're going, just that he mentioned it's a surprise. His niece had asked if he liked the surprises when he was a pup? Whopper simply replied that all puppies love surprises.
When he finished that sentence, the kid on a skateboard swirled past them. And headed right into the crosswalk. Right when the light signal changed to red palm, which means don't walk. Seeing the danger. Whopper hurries to help the kid. "Hey, watch out!" He grabs his arm and manages to pull him out of harm's way. Resulting in the car crushing the skateboard.
"Whoa that couldn't have been me, thanks." The kid said. "That will be you if you don't start watching the lights, and wait for the light signal before you cross." Whopper said while using his paw and his two fingers to make the walk gesture. "Yay uncle whopper." His niece cheered. The kid waved before going back to listen to some tunes. Whopper waved back, and headed on their way. "Great going uncle Whopper you saved him." His nephew said.
"It's a good thing we still have puppy power. Or else I couldn't have talked to him." Whopper said. "What do you mean still have puppy power, haven't we always had it?" His niece said. "Where did it come from anyways uncle Whopper?" He asked. "I never told ya this one? He chuckles. "Wait till you hear this." Whopper stated, and then he started to narrate the story.
Pound Puppies: The Legend of big paw (remake)
"It all started back in the dark ages, back in the days of the knights. The peaceful scenery immediately changes right when the butterfly lands on the flower. Only for it to be crushed by their hoofs from the horses. "Things were a lot different back then. Knights begin to charge. Good and evil knights fought each other. For the rite to search for the mystical sword Excalibur." Whopper says as knights from both sides of the battlefield begin exchanging sword swings, many knights falling off their horses, hiding behind cover while rain of arrows came their way, and clashing weapons arranging from their swords, clubs and axes.
"Because whoever could pull the sword out of the stone it was stuck in, would become king of England." Whopper proclaimed while knights fell one by one on the battlefield. All, but one. A mysterious and threatening figure in black armor with spikes on his shoulders along with horns on his helmet. Stood standing as he lifted his visor revealing his face. He wielded a large battle axe which he lifted back up and lightly cleaned it. "Unfortunately sir the evil black knight won."
Transiting to a forest a young blonde lad playing fetch with his beagle named Digalot. "Go on, get the stick." The lad picks up the wooden stick and throws it. The dog follows the distance where the wooden stick was thrown to. Meanwhile the knights are all here, including the black knight himself Mc. Nasty. Leading the search for the mystic sword.
Suddenly he got hit in the helmet with the dog stick. Making the horse startled, and fall off. The knights watch in horror as they realize what is about to happen to the poor fellow that provoked the black knight. "Someone's gonna get it." One knight said in the background.
Mc. Nasty sees what he thought was the one responsible. A dog. Digalot finds his wooden stick, but when he sees the scary black knight. He starts to be afraid.
The black knight raises his large battle ax. The dog runs away in panic as the wooden stick is chopped in half. The young boy saw Digalot running from . "Oh no, it's the black knight. We need to run, Sir Digalot." The boy said. The boy and his dog sir Digalot run for their lives. Being chased by a knight and his horse. The chase continued on through the woods.
They kept running until he fell off the small hill. His dog made sure he is not hurt, thankfully he isn't. They thought they were safe, but they heard his evil laugh. Sensing he is close by, the lad dodged the chop of the ax. The chase came to an end thanks to the forest of thorns. The boy kept looking for any alternative safe route to go around. But it was a dead end. Realizing they are trapped. They turn around to see the black knight has caught up to them.
"Now for the pleasure of...FINISHING YOU." The black knight said threateningly as the lad tried again, desperate for a safe way out of the danger. As his eyes began to glow red. Unaware for them, a shadowy big paw. Lift the roots to make way for him. He took the opportunity to run once he figured out there's a path for them to run. The lad crawled through the root standing in his way. Going through just in time before dodging another close call from the swing of his battle ax.
Digalot tries to scare him away with a bark. Annoyed by that bark. Mc. Nasty tries to attack him. Only for the dog to run away from him. Crawling to the little gap, and got through by the time Mc. Nasty found him. He lets out a grunt in annoyance.
The lad and his dog landed on the ground. "Let's get out of here." He said. They ran to get away as the black knight swung and chops through many thorns that stood in his way. The lad keeps on running, running like he has never ran before. Not paying any attention to where he was going and tripped into a puddle. Cluelessly not noticing the puddle of water in front of him which he fell into, he immediately got up and saw that the puddle was shaped like a large paw print.
They started to hear some noises. A roar, or a howl? The lad couldn't tell as a shadow suddenly stood before them. They see glowing white eyes. Showing their white and sharp teeth. Whoever it was, it showed itself. Only slightly as it was just a shadow. The large dog like figure began to speak. "Hi there." The dog greeted, but to the lad, it sounded threatening and intimidating. In his response, the lad and the dog started to run away in fear.
Both of them kept running for their lives. Not noticing their being watched by a mysterious large dog. The lad stopped to see more big paw print puddles. The sound is heard again. Getting even more scared. He ran in the other direction. While the black knight was still on their tail, chopping more roots from some thorns. Making a path for him to catch up with the two.
The lad tripped another paw print puddle. They watched in awe as the lake revealed the very one that the knights had been searching for. The sword in the stone, Excalibur. The stepping stones appeared from the bottom of the lake. Creating a path for him to jump. Looking back, has caught up to their trail. He was at his breaking point being fed up with their shenanigans. With no other option, he hops on the stones in desperation for a sword to defend himself and protect his friend.
He was able to make it, and walked up to the sword, and began to pull. has noticed the sword that he longed to claim. "The sword Excalibur. The kingdom will be mine." The black knight said devilishly. Sir Digalot attempts another bark as defense against Mc. Nasty. But he soon got scared and ran. Dodging the blow of his ax once again. The dog hopped on each stone, and noticed a glowing object on the side of the rock where the sword was. It was a bone.
He quickly walks up and uses his mouth to try and pull it out. "The bone of scone." Mc. Nasty laughs seeing their efforts of trying to pull them out of the stone. "You will never pull it out." He taunts them.
The lad and the dog kept pulling, and pulling. Until finally, they did it. Digalot pulled the bone out at the same time when the lad pulled the sword from the stone. The boy raises the sword, trying to look intimidating As his shadow changed to what looked like, a valiant knight with a crown. While Digalot growls to scare him off with a mystic bone of scone in his maw.
laughs at both of them. Seeing no reason not to be afraid of them. When the boy's shadow changed to something frightening. Like a dangerous monster that is lurking by. Never daring to challenge it, he flees. The boy puts the sword down, and lets out a sigh in relief that they're safe from the black knight's clutches. Digalot places the bone down and suddenly he starts randomly talking. "Yeah, sure scared him." Sir Digalot speaks.
"What do you mean you scared him? It was me and the sword." The lad said, trying to take all the credit. "It was me and the bone." His dog replied. Before they would argue over who scared off the black knight the most. The boy soon realized something. Something digalot has never done before. "You can talk." The lad said with shock and excitement.
"I can always talk, now you can understand me." Digalot said. "We can talk, we found puppy power!" They both said triumphantly in unison. They hugged, and laughed with each other. Happy that they discovered puppy power and can now understand each other.
With that, the boy named Arthur. Became a noble and fearless king otherwise known as king Arthur. Along with his best friend. Sir. Digalot. Digalott then tells the new king to fix his crown. The crowd cheered and began their festivities for their new king, all while the black knight stood watching with his two knights from the top floor looking down at Arthur and the crowd. "Enjoy your reign while you can, king Arthur. But I shall never rest until the bone of scone is mine. Then I…shall rule the world. And should I fail, the sons of the clan will not sleep until the bone of scone rest in hands." He vows in a threatening tone.
Back to the present day.
"Some story, huh kids?" Whopper asked his niece and nephew. "One thing I don't understand uncle Whopper. Who led them to the bone and the sword in the first place?" His niece wondered. "Yeah who?" His nephew also wondered. "Glad you asked, It was big paw, the guardian of the bone. Which brings me to another story. About how we almost lost puppy power. Well, it all started back right before our adoption bazaar. In the rockin 'fifties." Whopper said as the scene transitioned back to his childhood.
