Chapter 8: Lacie the HR Intern
In her office in the Supremacy, the director of the First Order's HR department Dolores is filling out paperwork for Captain Phasma and trooper FN-2187.
"So, due to this relationship you understand he can't be under the same regiment as you?" Dolores asks.
"I understand." Phasma says.
"And this means he will be sent to either a new regiment or a completely new assignment?" Dolores continues.
"Yes."
"Okay then, he has already signed this non-disclosure agreement. To finalize the meeting, I need you to sign it as well." Dolores holds a pad in front of Phasma for her to read and sign. "It says here you can't pull rank to give him preferential treatment, and no public displays of affection while on duty."
"Yes, Dolores." Phasma says as she signs the pad.
"Okay, you're good to go." Dolores says. As Phasma leaves, she pulls out her communicator.
"Finn, darling. When you're off duty, meet me at Oga's." She coos, much to the annoyance of Dolores.
A few minutes later, a young red haired woman wearing a yellow dress robe, red boots, and orange glasses. Her face has a strong resemblance to that of Kira Ren and she stares daggers at Dolores.
"Hello, can I help you?" Dolores asks, trying not to comment on the appearance of this creepy woman.
"Hello, I'm Lacie. I'm the new HR Intern." She answers before holding up a fist. "On god."
"Pleased to meet you, Lacie." Dolores says sarcastically before returning to her paperwork.
"Excuse me, I am here to work." 'Lacie' snaps.
"Who sent you down here?" Dolores asks, "Cuz I didn't get anything saying I was training a new intern."
"General Hux sent me here." 'Lacie' answers. "He said it's the best way to truly know the First Order. I wish to know what really happens here. And what to know your thoughts on Kira Ren."
"Know my thoughts?" Dolores asked curiously. "Kira Ren's agenda is whatever."
"Is whatEVER?" 'Lacie' is offended by Dolores' response. "She works hard to keep the First Order running since the death of Snoke!"
"Listen, I don't get into politics and Kira Ren isn't the one who signs my checks." Dolores says trying not to sound unnerved. "If you support her, power to ya. You can root for whoever you want, so long as you remain appropriate in the workplace."
"I will do my best when working here." 'Lacie' says. "I will best serve you, the First Order, and the goddess that is Kira Ren. Speaking of which, have you seen her lightsaber?"
"No, I…"
"Well let me see if I can find it." 'Lacie' walks out of the room and walks in two seconds later with a double bladed collapsible lightsaber with red blades. "Look, I found Kira Ren's lightsaber. Here look at it up close." She sticks the blade right next to Dolores' face.
"Is this really practical?" It looks cool and all, but doesn't seem like the safest for her to use."
"THEN YOU DON'T HAVE TO LOOK AT IT ANYMORE!" 'Lacie' throws the lightsaber at the wall, burning a hole into it. Dolores looks at the hole in the wall and then at an office behind her.
"Alright, you clearly need something to do. Why don't you go into that office and sort through all the files in the R section. Specifically ones named "Rebel" and "Resistance". We need a list of all Public Enemies for Hux's new speech." Dolores orders.
"Yes, man. On god." 'Lacie' holds up her fist before going into the office. As soon as she is out of sight, Dolores activates her communicator.
"Dolores from HR, calling for General Hux."
"This is Hux, Dolores."
"Hey, General. I just got to meet ya girl, Lacie."
"Ah yes, I just had recently received an order that she would be coming to. Apologies for not giving you a warning."
"That's okay, but I do have one question. She's Kira Ren isn't she?."
"Oh she's totally Kira Ren, but we can't let her know that we know that."
"Okay, so long as we're on the same page."
"Yes, indeed. And it's a good thing you called because there is someone here I want you to talk to."
"And who might that be?" Dolores asks curiously.
"He says his name is Matt and that he is meant to be a radar technician, but I have no records of it. He looks a lot like Captain Ben Solo. Would you mind helping me sort this mess out?"
"No problem, send him down." Dolores sighs.
"You're a good woman, Dolores. I foresee a good future for you."
"Thank you, sir." Dolores says before turning off her communicator, and takes a sip of her Bantha brew. "This is gonna be a long day."
I hope you enjoyed this chapter. I enjoy the SNL sketches with Kylo Ren, and I also want to give credit to sunflowerandstardust for the character of Dolores from HR. The reason I go back and forth with comedy and drama with this story is because smiles and cries are all a part of Star Wars. The chapter is a breather before me get back to the main story.
