Death Egg
Robotnik thought he had it won. Knuckles is passed out, Walters is done for, and he got the Master Emerald back immediately. Then of all people..that rodent. THAT RODENT just had to come back and curb his momentum. Because of course he did.
He always did.
First Sonic wrecked his giant robot, then the shuttle. If the doctor couldn't win this time, he'd have a breakdown!
"After I'm done you'll call me MASTER!" He yells, firing a shockwave from his body. Super Sonic just flies past that and tackles Robotnik onto the rocks below! They split in half from the sheer force! Robotnik levitates up, but gets met by a dropkick! He gets blitzed in every single way, no room to breathe for him.
"Hedge—" he coughs. "HOG!"
Sonic grabs him by the stache, and hurls him THROUGH a canyon! In one end, out the other. Sonic follows through and floats above the doctors body. "Finally, you'll give me a REAL challenge."
" hallenge THIS."
A green beam flashes for a milisecond, knocking Super Sonic back! Robotnik hurls his green bolts at the hedgehog, not just shocking him, but keeping him in place. Robotnik drives another green beam at him, launching him upwards! "How do you like THESE combos?!"
Teleport, uppercut!
Teleport, elbow to the skull!
Teleport, beam that launches Super through a canyon of his own! Robotnik flies over, grabs him by the leg, and slams him facefirst on the cold dirt! Robotnik forces him off the ground. "This is MY world." He flies up with Super Sonic, and tackles him through ANOTHER canyon! The damage to these sites can only get worse.
The Doctor smacks Super Sonic with some of the rubble. "I'VE got all the power..and luck by my side!"
Sonic chuckles. "Hehehe.."
"Cut that out!"
Robotnik tooks to impale him with a green blade, but Sonic backflips, and dumps Robotnik on his neck! "YOW!"
"That was a great stretch. But we've just hit phase two." Super Sonic summons NINE golden spheres. The first one launches Robotnik up, but the other eight literally hit every part of his body. Nowhere is safe, he's getting decimated by them! It's like he's in front of a firing squad.
"Think fast!"
Sonic flies behind Robotnik, and nails a brutal Cyclone Kick! It's like a typhoon kicking him over and over! Thirty shots in five seconds..
"Oh.." Robotnik pants. "Save me G—"
Sonic hits a NASTY Stomp, sending Robotnik into ICE CAP! Unfortunately for the doc, there's still a slope, so Super Sonic just uses him as a snowboard! He can feel the burn on his back. He tries to speak but snow keeps covering his face.
"What's that? I can't hear you!"
Robotnik flips Sonic over and does the same to him! "What's that? I CAN'T HEAR YOU!" Sonic brakes so fast it throws Robotnik off him. Super Sonic follows.
"Where ya goin?"
The two land on Mushroom Hill, close to that hotel. Robotnik uses the extra spring in those shrooms, to dodge the spheres. He crafts a comically large cannon, barreling Super, and making him bounce off the shrooms.
While he's still in midair, Robotnik crafts a green shovel. "Hedgehogs belong in the ground!" He smacks Sonic on the Shroom, like he's a ball on a paddle. One swing to the side and Super Sonic hits the ground. Robotnik holds the hard part of the shovel on his throat.
"HNGH.."
"You can fight. Believe in whatever you want." Robotnik sneers, trying to suffocate him. "But I am always ten steps ah—"
Poke to the eye! Super Sonic kicks Robotnik on a Shroom. He bounces off and eats a tornado-like headbutt from his nemesis! Robotnik looks like he has birds flying around his head. Sonic fires a yellow beam that sends Robotnik away!
He even goes through the hotel! It startles Vector, who starts playing off key: "Oh wow." Sonic comes flying in, shocking the nonexistent pants off Vector. "Sonic? The heck happened to you?"
"No time, Vec."
Super Sonic chases his flying foe out. Robotnik's coming towards the Rabbit family! Super Sonic moves them out of the way before he can crash into them. "Thank you mister Sonic!" Peak Sonic just keeps chasing his demolished foe.
"Have mercy!" Robotnik clasps his hands together midair. "
"You ruined your chance." Sonic says, teleporting behind the doctor. He wraps his arms around him and gives him the Rock Lee special, driving his head into the dirt! Robotnik's dizzy, and Super Sonic stands tall again. "Stay away from Mobius."
Robotnik clutches his head. "Ohhh…hedgehog.."
"You still wanna talk?"
"Have you ever heard of phase three?" A metal arm shoots out of Robotnik's back, catching Sonic and pinning him on the ground. Robotnik creates several more arms to lift him. He's a more twisted Doctor Octopus now, with a much dirtier face after everything he's been put through.
"New gadgets. Sick." Sonic rips the grip of one off, but the five squeeze the hell out of him. Sonic gets slammed into every structure possible, even the local village. Bloated Toads and Frogs normally intermingle, but today they work together in the art of RUNNING AWAY!
Sonic crawls from the rubble, but gets pancakes by four arms. Robotnik grabs his arms with two, and legs with two. He dangles him upside down. "Before you so rudely cut me off..I'm always ten steps ahead. This super form of yours couldn't thrash me forever."
Sonic's golden aura starts shining brighter.
"That's the thing about me. Contingency, a top another contingency." Robotnik grabs him by the chin. "
Sonic's aura shoots out a little light, as he breaks himself free of those metals chains! He immediately punches the Doctor across the face, and takes to the sky. He can see the Deatn Egg on a mushroom-patterned TV, and heads up there.
"NO YOU DON'T!" Master Robotnik shouts, adding more flight to himself. For once, he's failing the hedgehog. He can't see Sonic's smirk though.
"Don't sell me short, egghead."
Super Sonic forces his way inside that Death Egg! He can see Tails mashing buttons, and Knuckles starting to recover. Master Robotnik flies in from behind, and takes a swing. Super ducks, grabs a bar, and knocks him upside the head.
Robotnik stumbles into a pile of crates. "Stubborn animal.." he wants to tackle that hedgehog himself. With Super Sonic in place, the Doctor looks for a big one..but he steps to the side,revealing an IRATE Knuckles! One punch sends Robotnik through those crates!
Tails jaw drops. To him, it was like Windmill Village all over again. "Cool.."
Sonic helps Knuckles stay up. "On your feet, pal. He's almost out."
"How long has this lasted?"
"Longer than I'd love to say."
Robotnik rises from the crates. Little wood chips are stuck in his green suit. He's not even walking straight. When he sees that broken Sonic, AND Knuckles standing against him? He basically hisses at them. "Curse it all!" He pulls out two swords. "
Sonic and Knuckles give each other knowing looks, as if to say "let's crack this egg." Knuckles steps towards the Doctor, but Sonic suddenly puts a hand in front of him. "Wait.."
"Why the hesitation?"
"If I could go Super by turning my thoughts into reality. Then…" Sonic kicks the emerald out of Robotnik's body, and shoves it at Knuckles. "You can too. You gotta have a form right?"
"Oh no you don't!" Robotnik yells, taking a slice at Knuckles. The echidna catches his futile sword and snaps it in two! Robotnik goes for the gut next time, but Sonic just rips it from his hands.
"Nuh uh, Eggman. Play nice next time, and maybe we won't have to ruin you more." Sonic says, his tone dripping with condescension. After all the gloating, boasting, and roasting the Doctor has done throughout this nefarious Master Emerald plot, it felt good to turn it back on him.
"I was born to inherit this power…" Knuckles grips the emerald. "I will no longer be denied by deceptive schemers." It lets out another glow, as the echidnas skin starts changing. It goes from his Islal red color, to a pink, magenta-like one! His aura is more on the purple side, but one things for sure: this is a dangerous form.
Tails has to blink four times. "So THAT'S why everyone really wanted it.."
Super Sonic smirks at his new ally's form. "Welcome to the Super Squad."
The introduction to said Super Squad is interrupted by Robotnik's growling. That Doctor sees himself back into his human state..and starts punching the floor, like a spoiled kid who just got told "no." "Why does this always happen?! EVERY time I plan a scheme, a scheme SO flawless..you pests always move the goalpost!" He points a finger at the magenta echinda. "YOU…how could I be outdone by such a..SUCH A NAIVE BUMPKIN!"
"Your words mean nothing."
"YOU MEAN NOTHING!" Robotnik starts driving his finger onto his emerald powered body. "Knowing how gullible you are you will FAIL, YOUR TRIBE AG—"
Super Knuckles tosses him out the window. He goes flailing around in the air, all while his new allies stare at the hole he made. "Why are you staring? The enemy has been defeated. His verbal abuse is no match for my physical abuse."
"I wouldn't go makin' those comparisons." Sonic admits.
"You seem surprised. You have witnessed my sheer strength before right?"
"Wasn't expecting you to do it THAT fast. Thought you'd give him a piece of your mind first.." Super Sonic scratches his golden quills. "Guess that's out the window."
"Should we really keep this place up?" Tails asks, checking the cameras to see hostile Badniks incoming. "If they don't stop coming, this egg will go down any minute now.."
Super Sonic scoops up Tails, and drops him off at the plains below. "Sonic?.."
"Kick back. You'll get a better show this time."
The Fox watches as the man he looks up to takes his flight. "Aww..when can I do that?"
Walters walks up next to him. "Maybe it's something from the heart…or just the emeralds. Maybe there's nothing deep about it at all."
Tails looks puzzled after the Chief's second-guessing. "How did you get down here?"
Meanwhile, Super Knuckles climbs to the top of the Death Egg, putting a few holes in there. Super Sonic lands next to him. "Welcome back, overpowered hedgehog. Are you prepared to sink this beast?"
"Got the emerald?"
"Much like the fake leader, it is inside me until I deem it not. Now we will use it's energy to collapse this despicable machine." Super Knux doesn't hesitate to start blasting through one end, and going out the other. Super Sonic gets Chemical Plant flashbacks, and joins Knuckles in the takedown. Those Badniks inside have no shot, but luckily the animals inside are freed.
The fall though? Super Sonic takes care of that, bringing the critters to safe land. Knuckles does most of the brute work, relishing in the ultimate power for the first time. The face of the Death Egg gets blasted off. With all that metal flying everywhere, Knuckles lifts that WHOLE creation from the bottom, without breaking a sweat.
He spots Angel Island in the distance. He second-guesses the idea of throwing thirty tons onto a little island, so he spots an empty grassland below. "LOOK OUT FROM BENEATH ME!" He just hurls that entire shuttle at the land! No animals are in the way, but there's still plenty of damage to be done.

Metal debris goes flying, and surprisingly, no fires have started. Although, the doctors previous Death Egg has gone kaput. Have fun operating it. Super Sonic flies over, and sees the damage down to it.
"She's not waking up anytime soon."
"This machine has been terminated." Knuckles allows his red skin to start its return. Sonic's does the same, as both go back to their normal selves. Tails and Walters run in to see the remains of the Death Egg. Before they can look too deep into it, Knuckles starts stumbling around.
"I feel..fatigued. Why is this, hedgehog?" He asks.
"That happens. After one round you'll get used to it."
The Master Emerald floats to the center of their circle. Walter looks shocked at the raw sight of the gem. "I'd say we take it for safekeeping.." he catches Knuckles' glare. "But it's better off in your hands. No human can do whatever the hell I just saw up there."
"It is in better hands now." Knuckles reassures. "My island will float again. A promise to my tribe has been restored. It is all thanks to our efforts." The echinda pauses, and looks at Sonic. "I hope my new role has made up for the sins of our past. We do not have to be our ancestors.."
"I think we're cool. You just gotta keep yourself in check. Don't do what I about did haha." Sonic snaps a finger. "If anyone gives ya trouble, give me a call and I'll find a way over."
"I do not possess a loud call."
"I'll help ya out if anyone messes with you."
Knuckles slowly nods. "Oh. So it just means I let you know by any means. Got it. Do you prefer pigeon or mail?"
"Do whatever you want."
Sonic and Tails give him little waves, and turn around.
"Bye, Knuckles!"
"See ya around, Knucklehead."
"I see your insults haven't aged. I will get my revenge when you least expect it. Verbal or physical."
"Hehehe. Can't wait." Sonic chuckles, heading for an exit with Tails following. Walters doesn't leave, and looks the echidna up and down.
"What is your concern? A chief like yourself shouldn't be surprised."
"Even a chief like me needs time to process."
As Sonic and Tails walk away, Tails taps his friends hip. "When can we see Knuckles again?"
"One minute away.." Sonic mutters with a snicker. It's crazy how quickly kids can get attached to the "cool" ones. "Let's give him a few days of privacy. Then we'll run over and annoy the heck outta him. How's that sound?"
"I can do that. But what do we do now?"
Sonic wipes his nose. "We can see the fish kingdom." Tails eyes light up at the mention. "What was it, Hydro-City?"
"..Hydrocity."
"You're not winnin' this one pal."
"Yes I will."
"NO YOU WON'T."
"YES I WILL."
Sonic playfully punches his buddy in the shoulder, before running off. Tails chases him as usual, putting the end to this lengthy adventure. It was a long trip through caves, mountains, oceans, and even shuttles, but Sonic defeated a more dangerous Robotnik, and even made a new friend.
Well, ally depending on how Knuckles sees it.
50 Hours Later..
Egg Bunker
Stones holding two quills in hand. Ones blue, and the others red. A new addition to the collection. He's looking at the big screen, seeing a file featuring blueprints. There's some specific parts listed on there.
"Upgrades, upgrades.."
Stone pulls up the image of a new, sleek robot. The "abilities" wishlist is scribbled, but pretty lengthy. Stone scratches his little goatee. "Is this what you wanted, Doctor?" He moves to a table, with two chips of data on it.
One labeled "Silver."
One labeled "Mecha."
There is still some free space for another. Stone has a little look of hatred in his eyes. The Doctor had yet to return TWO days after he was supposed to. This didn't just worry Stone. It ticked him off! Sonic the Hedgehog has brought he and his boss grief time and time again.
The special zone searches for those Chaos Emeralds.
Chemical Plant.
Stone could count all of his encounters on his fingers. He literally does, and adjusts his collar after. With Robotnik's disappearance, Stone has been left with all the toys. He's now the man of this twisted house. He can pitch in to tne "evolution" Robotnik always went on about. Maybe he'll upgrade the Badniks. Maybe he'll come up with better schemes.
What's his first order of business?

The Master Emerald has been sent back to Angel Island. I did some little tweaks on specifically the power of it. Because Sonic got his hands on it, he wished for his super form and got because of the whole "thoughts into reality" thing. I also wanted an explosive fight scene, that was different from the first arc, so I did "Super Sonic vs. Master Robotnik." I was interested in the green form, and wanted to do more with it, besides making a giant robot with thick thighs.
So, in another twist, Stone seems to be in charge of the Eggman Empire. Or the Robotnik Revolution. Maybe he'll call it the Stone Symphony, who knows. All we really know right now, is that he's looking to make some fixes to the doctors past designs, and carry on the legacy while he's gone. Ooooo!
Anyways, I enjoyed writing this one more than the first, and to be honest: I'll be getting more original for the third one. It does involve a couple more characters from the games, but I'll be switching up some certain plot points, locations, etc. I am not ready for time travel yet lol, so I'll be looking to get inspired from other media.
