"Gughk" I sit up
The hell happened?
I set my hand on my head as I get a massive headache all of a sudden "fuck" I growl before it goes away
I was trying so hard to remember who that name belonged to
But my brain it suddenly just.. shut off
"They say you're going to be like that for a couple of weeks" I hear Erwin
"Captain?" I look up at him
He sighs "it's commander and has been for a while you know"
I smile "whatever, where are we ?" I ask
"In a cabin in aTrost district" he says
"Yeah? And what you doin here then ?" I ask
"Well, just thought I'd drop by" he says
"Well… I see you lost an arm" I notice it was missing
"Oh, this is nothing… not compared to all the lives I've trampled upon" he says
"Yeah…" I sigh
"Where's Historia ?" I ask
"Oh… she's been out on her own for quite a while" he says
"A while ? How long was I out for?" I ask
"Three days" he says "two days ago she was last seen talking to Carla Yeager who was moved into trost district recently" he says
"Moved?" Why they went and do that for ? "Where's my team at then ?" I ask
"They should be back in a bit" he says
"I've been meaning to talk to you about something…" Erwin says as I put on my gear
"Yeah? And what of?" I ask
"Well… about your position as Squad Captain" he says
"Really? Think Levi is ready to come back ?" I ask
"It's not about that, rather about.."
"what?"
"Starting today you'll be discharged.. released from the Survey Corps" he says
"Wait no that's not happening" I tilt my head wondering what all this is coming from
"You are in no position to protest Kara" he says
"I don't belong anywhere but in the front lines" I argue
"Not in the state you are in, you have pushed your body far beyond its limits" he says
"So what? I'll only be getting stronger"
"It's not only that… a new era of the Kingdom inside the walls is rising you soon will appointed as Commander in chief"
My eyes widen
"What the hell happened while I was out?! The fuck is all this coming from??" I ask
"Historias true identity has been confirmed, it's only a matter of time till she rises to power and up there you'll be right beside her" he says
… Historia
Haven't heard that name in a while
"Okay me and Historia are a thing but that doesn't mean I should be appointed as King" I argue
"She already told us you've been trying to conceive a child, so there's no around that" he says
"The people of this kingdom aren't just going to let Historia reign just because we say she's of royal blood" he sighs "Kara..you are the face of the survey corps, people think of you when they imagine us going outside the walls.. you are the face of humanity's last hope there isn't a better place you belong" he says
It's way too much to take in
"I'll fill out the paperwork for you, just… let's try to have Historia back by the end of the week" he says heading over to the door
"Sure" I say before he closes the door behind himself
"Ugh man" I grab my head as it started pumping again
"King huh" definitely know I'm not ready for that
After a few minutes I finally find the strength to get out of bed
I walk around a bit dazed but I managed to find Odin outside
I took him on a little walk trying to gather my thoughts when we returned after seeing Odin began getting tired
I was in the middle of taking off my top before..
"Kara??" I hear Mikasa
"What is it ?" I ask before the door swings open behind me
"Holy shit we thought they got to you" I hear Jean
"Mgh what do you mean?" I groan as I pull my shirt over my head
"We're wanted throughout the kingdom" Connie says
"What?!"
"Yeah.. not only that the MP's kidnapped Eren" I hear Levi
"What? When?" I ask
"Just yesterday"he says
"Why didn't Erwin tell me?"
"You've seen Commander Erwin?" Connie asks
"Just this morning when I woke up" I say
"He sent us a note saying he'd be turning himself in" Levi says "we've been framed for the murder of the head of the Reeves family"
"Really? Then where's Zoe ?"I ask
"Hange?" Mikasa asks
I nod
"She went to go look for Flegel boss Reeves son who was a whiteness to his fathers murder" Levi says
"Damn.." I sigh
"What did Commander Erwin talk to you about? I figured he'd catch you up on what's going on" Levi says
"Well.. kinda, he just talked to me about some.. promotion" I lie
"Promotion? Whoa like what?!" Connie asks
"It's whatever though" I sigh
"Hell yeah this is so awesome soon you'll be commander and then-"
"Ahem" I clear my throat "Mikasa help me shave yeah ?" I take a bottle of white rum from the carriage
"Okay" she says
I had been out for so long my fur began growing back
We head over to a creek where I threw all my clothes aside
I sit down inside the water before she began shaving my back
"Ahh mann" I sigh popping open the bottle
All the soreness from my body went away by the time I drank half the bottle
"You okay?" I ask as she began shaving my inner thigh
"Y-yeah" she says
I sigh "is it Eren?" I ask
"No.. well.. I just think we should be out looking for Eren" she says
"He'll be fine.. you need to relax" I raise her chin
"You know you should be just as worried about Historia" she says
I sigh "here" I raise the white rum over her head
"What?" She asks
"Drink" I tip the rum over
She opens her mouth as I began pouring about a third of what was left into her mouth
"Mgh" she chokes
"Heh what is it?" I chuckle as I pat her back
"Ghk that's awful" she clears her throat
"So.. have you heard anything about Historia ?" She asks still trying to get the flavor out of her mouth
"Erwin said he'd last seen her with Carla" I say
"Carla?" Mikasa asks
"Yeah.."
"So what about.. you know the throne? Are you up for it?" She asks
"Me?" I ask
"Mhmm you know.. with the baby and all" she mutters
"Baby?!" I sit up
"Relax I'm kidding" she chuckles "she did tell me you two are trying though" she says
"Oh.. right" I sigh
We continued talking for a bit
And by the time she was done helping me drink the rest of the rum she finished shaving off all the access fur from my thighs
"Hipp* so do you want to or not ?" She hiccups as I began rinsing off
"I'm not sure to be honest" I step out beside her
I hold my hand out asking for the towel as she stared blankly at my junk
"Ahem" I clear my throat
"Oh.. here" she hands me the towel
I start drying up before I began putting on my pants
"You sure you want to.. go?" She asks as she playfully tugs on my pants
I raise an eyebrow
"C'mon" I throw an arm around her neck "you're drunk"
"oh whatever" she frowns
"So what *hipp* do you mean you're not sure?" She asks
"I'm not.." I say leading her through the woods
"It's not much of a choice if your going to be with Historia you know" she says
"Yeah I know.. what if I call it quits before she gets pregnant?" I say
"... I don't think you should" she says
"Yeah I know that's messed up" I sigh
"You'll be completely fine. you know she felt the exact same way just before Levi.. well, never mind" she says
Before I could ask what happened with Levi I hear a twig snaps behind us
I turn around pulling Mikasa behind me
"D-dont moved" some kid with an ugly ass bowlcut stutters
I raise an eyebrow seeing him and the girl beside him shaking, their fingers trembling on the trigger
"A rifle huh" I smile "those things aren't for threats you know,"
"What are you talking about ?" the chick asks
"They're for action.. the fact that you've taken so long to shoot means you are willing to risk it all here and now" I step forward "tell me are you really willing to risk your life ?" I ask
He gulps nervously "what are you guys doing? Y-you're the survey corps.." he says
I sigh "you didn't answer my question" I reach for his rifle pointing the barrel upwards as I use my tail to snatch the other girls rifle
During the struggle I elbow his chin knocking him back as I manage to take his rifle
"Kara!" I hear Connie
"What's going on?!" Sasha demands as they see the two MP's standing in front of us
"These two tried running up on us" I throw the rifles aside
"MP's huh?" We hear Levi
"Names" I demand in a rather calm tone
"I-I'm Marlowe and this is my partner Hitch he introduces himself and the girl
"What's going on? did you guys really turn on the capital??" Marlowe asks
"What's it to you it's not like you'd ever believe us" Levi says
"P-please if there's anything.. I know how dirty the interior police has gotten over the years" Marlowe says
"Listen Harlowe you already fucked up pointing that thang at me don't try an play dumb now" I crouch down beside him
"I-it's Marlowe s-sir, a-and please forgive us we wouldn't have trained our weapons on you if we had known it were an an elite like yourself captain Akuma K-Kara" he nervously crawls back
"Yeah whatever" I sigh that title might be stripped away from me soon before getting back to my feet
"Please you have to believe me, I want to help I know you guys are being set up" he helps his partner Hitch up "I joined the MP's because I wanted to get rid of the corrupted system but I know now that was never possible, if I wanted to do any good I should've joined the Survey Corps" he says
"Yeah?" I ask "you know you're starting to sound like some kid I know" I mutter thinking of Eren
That kid won't stop preaching about saving humanity and whatnot
I look over at Levi
I guess they could be legit, I mean it would be nice having some MP's on our side even if they're rookies
Levi gives me a little nod
"Take care of them Jean" I finally say
It takes him a second to realize what I meant by that "yes sir"
We head back to camp where everyone was getting into gear
After a few minutes Jean came back
"Yep they pretty legit" he rubs his cheek
"So what you know about Eren?" Mikasa asks Marlowe
"Not a lot but I overheard some interiors talking about a package being delivered in a coffin.. it didn't make any sense at first, but I mean why'd they'd have so much security for such a little thing you know?" He says
"It has to be him" Mikasa says under her breath
"Okay that sounds easy enough" I stretch my arms ready to rip some heads
"You're not coming" Levi says
"What?!" I stop
"I don't think you understand our situation Kara" Levi says
"He's right Captain they're looking for you we probably shouldn't let them anywhere near you" Connie says
"The only reason they managed to take Eren was because they couldn't find you" Levi says
"Their plan now is to use Eren's power against you" Armin says "look.. you can't transform in the state you're in, its best you sit back and rest for a bit longer" he adds
"Nah I don't think you guys understand.. I turn to face my team "we not facing Titans this time"
"Wh-what do you mean?" Armin asks
I sigh "you ever take a life ?" I ask Armin
He shakes his head "how bout you Jean? Connie?" I ask
"N-no sir" they respond
"If it gets ugly.. you don't know who's neck you'll be cutting, so decide now weather or not you can take a life, cause if you can't some of us will die"
I wait for an answer
"Whatever it takes to have Eren back with us" Armin says
"Y-yeah as much as I hate that block head we need him on our side" Jean says
"R-right" Connie says nervously
"Sasha?" I asks seeing she's been pretty quiet
She gulps "I'll do what has to be done"
"Put your feelings aside they have no place in the situation we're in" they all look at eachother "c'mon let's get moving" I look at Levi
"Whatever" he sighs seeing he can't get rid of me just yet
