Harvey left the condo around 4pm on Sunday to meet his mom at the train station, leaving Donna to finish getting Rosie and herself ready for the evening.

Donna dressed Rosie in a navy blue dress with a matching bow and little booties, while Donna opted for jeans and a black top.

Donna loved the time the three of them spent together, but she adored the time she and Rosie had just the two of them. Their girl time as she referred to it when Harvey would offer to get her ready for the day, or take her with him on an errand. She loved getting to know her little girl, and still couldn't believe she would get to love her for the rest of her life.

Holding Rosie up in the mirror to look at herself, Donna gave the girl a quick kiss. "Look at that cute girl! Are you ready to meet your grandma? You're about to be the most spoiled kid on the planet."

Rosie gave a happy squeal in response.

Pacing back and forth on the sidewalk outside the station, Harvey was trying to ward off the nerves that were threatening to overtake him. He always had mixed feelings about seeing his mom, and although he knew this should be a positive visit, he was still anxious about how the evening would go. Thank god Donna would be with him, he thought to himself.

Five minutes later, Lily emerged from the station, a huge smile forming on her face as she located her son.

"Hi Mom," he said, wrapping her in a hug.

"Oh, Harvey, its so good to see you!" she exclaimed, holding him tightly.

As Ray put her bags in the trunk, Harvey opened the door for her to get in the car.

Walking around to get in on the other side, he smiled over at his mom, who had a very confused expression on her face. "Harvey…" she started, "does this um, have anything to do with what you wanted to talk about?" she asked, nodding towards the car seat in between them.

Shit. He had been so focused on their dinner plans that he didn't even think about the car seat. He smiled to himself thinking about how it didn't even phase him; like he had been driving around with it in his backseat forever.

Unable to hold back a laugh at how stupid he'd been, he shook his head, "I promise I had a way better plan for introducing you to your granddaughter –"

Lily gasped, both hands covering her mouth. Tears pooled in her eyes as she struggled to find words. "Harvey…"

Harvey beamed thinking about the girls waiting for them at home, "You're going to love her."

Afternoon traffic allowed for Harvey to fill his mom in on the last week. He wanted to do it with Donna by his side, but he knew she would understand, and probably try to convince him it was better that is happened this way, with just the two of them.

"We're on our way home, traffic is pretty bad. Also, we forgot to take a certain something out of the car that kind of ruined the surprise." he texted Donna.

"Oh my god, Harvey, the car seat! How did we not think of that? Did she freak out?" she responded.

"Only a little; but needless to say, she knows why we invited her here now." he replied.

"Waaay less pressure for me then ;) See you soon."

Donna knew that Lily knew who she was, but there was a new layer to their pending relationship that there hadn't been before. It was one thing for her to know Donna as Harvey's colleague at work, or even someone that she knew held a deeper place in his heart than just that; but the abrupt step into the role of a mother figure for her grandchild, caused Donna to feel more anxious than she would have if Harvey was simply introducing her as his new girlfriend.

She wished Gordon were around to meet Rosie. She didn't know him well, but she would have loved to see Harvey show Rosie off, dad to dad.

Hearing the door open, Donna took a deep breath and scooped Rosie up from her blanket. Giving her a quick kiss, and placing her on her hip, she whispered, "showtime, babygirl."

Lily entered the apartment first, followed by Harvey carrying her bag. Upon seeing Donna and Rosie, she once again gasped, covering her mouth with both hands. Donna approached the two of them, as Lily searched for words.

"Can I…?" she questioned, cautiously reaching for Rosie.

Donna smiled as she handed the little girl over to her grandmother.

Moving to stand next to Donna, Harvey slipped his hand around her waist. "Mom, we'd like you to meet our daughter, Rosie," he said, giving her hip a knowing squeeze.

Lily was silent as she held the little girl close, taking a moment to take it all in.

"Donna," Lily started, as Donna took in a sharp breath, still close to Harvey.

Lily opened her eyes, tears threatening to fall. "Thank you."

Donna exhaled, her nerves slowly calming. "I really didn't have anything to do with –"

"Yes you did," Lily cut her off, "I wouldn't be here holding my granddaughter if it weren't for you."

Now Donna was the one with tears in her eyes. She leaned in on Harvey, who gave her a soft kiss on her forehead.

"I'll grab you guys some wine, and let the two of you relax while I start to grill," Harvey said as he moved towards the kitchen.

Lily, still holding Rosie who had happily snuggled into her chest, and Donna moved onto the couch.

As Harvey exited out onto the deck to begin cooking, Donna stared into her glass, waiting for Lily to take the lead.

"I always hoped it would be you," Lily said gently.

Donna, confused, looked up, "What do you –"

"The first time I heard about you; the way Marcus talked about you," she shook her head, "he told me everything I needed to know without even realizing it." She paused, "When Harvey came to visit me last year, I know it's because you encouraged him to. I know I made a lot of choices that hurt him, but I'll never be able to thank you enough for even suggesting to him that he come see me."

Fighting back tears, Donna replied, "Harvey is tough, but no matter what, you were still his mom. I couldn't watch him throw that away."

"I know that this one was a surprise for him, for both of you," Lily nodded at the little girl who was starting to fall asleep in her arms, "and I'd be lying if I said I wasn't worried for him when he first told me about what happened. Worried that what I did would cloud the joys and his outlook on being a parent. But when he told me the two of you were doing this together, I knew that this little girl was going to be loved beyond measure," she said, grabbing Donna's hand. "You always loved Harvey, even when he didn't make it easy. You push him to be the best version of himself. I know you would do anything for him, and I know he would do anything for both of his girls."

Donna let the tears fall from her eyes, "Thank you for saying that, Lily. I feel like the luckiest girl in the world to get to love the two of them."

Rosie let out a big yawn, and snuggled deeper into her grandma's arms.

"She looks just like Harvey when he was a baby," Lily mused, running her hand through Rosie's hair. "His hair was lighter, but those eyes…" she trailed off.

"They're killer," Donna smiled. "She's such a little stunner."

Lily laughed, "Well clearly he has the recessive hair gene, so I'm sure the next one will be a little redhead."

Donna blushed, her heart skipping a beat as an image of a little redhaired baby flashed in her mind.

Before she could respond, Harvey came in from outside with a plate of perfectly cooked steaks. "Hungry?"
