Warning: this chapter has swearing, but it's not as bad as the last one.
"3 more? Good. We begin tonight."
Freddy walked towards lost and found, not knowing what to expect. He knew it was a small, male child who was distressed and clearly discomforted by something.
He walked up to the door of lost and found and looked through a window to the left of it. He saw a small child sitting on the ground, looking through the clothes of the lost and found bins.
The child had very messy hair, it had looked like someone had come into the room a few seconds earlier and had rubbed a balloon on his hair. He noticed the child's generally run-down appearance, from his broken shoes with holes in them to the very dark stains on his shirt and shorts.
The child's stomach began growling ferociously as if there was a beast inside of him. The child clenched his stomach and curled up into a ball from the pain, before going back to looking through the clothes.
No guest profile, dirty clothes and shoes with holes, very hungry. Freddy thought to himself. Is he... homeless?
Freddy knocked on the door. The boy jumped slightly, then turned to look at the bear. He was surprised, but in a good way.
Freddy unlocked, then opened the door. "Hello there. is your name Gregory by chance?" The bear said calmly.
"Yes." There was a tiny bit of joy that sparked in Gregory's eyes, when Freddy knew his name.
"It is nice to meet you Gregory. Tell me, have you visited the pizza Plex before? I do not believe I have your guest profile."
Gregory hesitated for a moment before answering no. I can trust him, right? He's one of the animatronics right? he would never hurt a kid, or leave them to rot on the streets... Right...? That thought scared him. But he was willing to take a chance.
"Do you know where your parents are?" Freddy asked, concerned.
"I don't have any." Gregory showed no emotion upon saying that last part. None.
"Oh, I didn-"
"Save it." Gregory turned stone-cold in an instant.
"Are you homeless?" Freddy asked slightly panicked, not knowing what to do in this situation.
"Yes." No emotion. It was like he was desensitized to the question.
"OK." Freddy was slightly panicking. His whole personality was him caring for others and being a good singer. it was in his programming, the protocols he would follow to make sure a lost child was returned home safely. This one didn't have a home.
What would he do? He couldn't just kick the kid out and leave him to rot on the street, immoral, that would be. Evil.
"Are you hungry?"
"Yes."
"OK. please come with me to the kitchen, and we can pick out your favourite meal. Free of charge, of course. From pizza to tacos, to hamburgers, we have it all here at the Freddy Fazbear's Mega Pizza Plex!" Freddy had not realised he had said that last part.
"OK then." Gregory replied. "But... I don't want that night guard to see me, I don't trust him..."
"Who? Cooper? He is a lovely guy, he will do no harm to you, why are you afraid of him?"
"I just... I don't trust him. is all."
Freddy sighed. "OK. If you wish. Climb into my stomach hatch, it is usually reserved for oversized birthday cakes and piñatas. But yours, is a... special occasion."
With that, Gregory climbed in, asking no questions. He trusted Freddy.
It was dark inside. Robotic wires hung everywhere around him, and the metallic feeling was cold on Gregory's skin. The only lights being symmetrical sets of dim orange lights surrounding his hatch. He could feel Freddy starting to move.
Cooper didn't know what to do. He hadn't been trained to deal with homeless kids before. He figured his best bet would be to call the police. He reached for his mobile at the side of his bag, turned it on and... No service? What? How? Freddy Fazbear's pizza Plex was in the centre of town! How could there be no service?
"What?" Cooper said softly to himself. "I'll just use the fazbear phone then." He walked to the nearest office, but still no reception. "Well, fine. He can stay one night. One. I'll let dayshift figure out what to do with him."
Cooper walked to lost and found, and wasn't exactly surprised to see no Gregory, and no Freddy.
"Fucking knew it." Cooper wasn't mad, he was more proud of himself for seeing this coming.
He then went back to the atrium to see Freddy and Gregory going into the kitchen. He ran towards them, but not to chase them, just to catch up to them.
"FREDDY!" Gregory whisper shouted whilst pointing out the running night guard. Freddy opened his stomach hatch and Gregory climbed inside.
Cooper saw that he had entered Freddy, and was a little surprised. "You can do that?" Cooper said when he finally caught up to Freddy.
"Uhh, I- Do what?" He was not convincing.
"Freddy, the kids in your stomach hatch. it's obvious. let him out so I can talk to him."
A small voice came from Freddy's chest.
"Only if I can stay inside here." The voice was slightly muffled, but it was still distinguishable.
"That's fine by me." Cooper said. "Hey, mate. Since you got no parents and no home, I'm going to let stay here in the pizza Plex. OK buddy?"
Gregory was happy with this news.
"Do you trust him now?" Freddy asked.
"A little more."
Freddy opened his hatch and Gregory climbed outside.
"Cooper, we were just going for pizza. Care to join us?"
"Err-" Cooper replied. "This'll be coming out of MY pocket, alright? Don't go overboard."
Gregory smiled at Cooper, then he and Freddy went inside.
Nightguards were allowed to order food and drink on their shifts, they just had to pay for it as well. The bad thing was, that Chica would always help herself to pizza. Guess who's pocket that came out of? Yup. Their wage ended up balancing out for the amount it had cost to replace what Chica had eaten.
Eh, the kid is Freddy's now. Cheap babysitter. I'll just go visit the others, have a chat with them. Cooper thought.
Cooper walked back to Rockstar row and to Roxy's green room. Knock knock knock.
"You're beauti- Come in!" Roxy replied whilst nervously laughing.
Cooper walked inside and immediately noticed something was wrong. Roxy's beautiful silver had diminished to a dirty grey at best, her fur and hair had clumped together at some parts and was dirty. Her once vibrant red clothes had darkened significantly and slight cracks had begun to appear around her joints. The only thing unchanged was her glorious eyes.
"Are you feeling OK Rox?" Cooper asked hesitantly.
"Yes, why what's wro-" She paused, then looked in the mirror again, this time actually noticing herself. "-ng with me..." She said the last part with tears starting to swell up in her eyes. She was shocked. How could she have gone such a long time looking at herself in the mirror, without noticing this?
"What happened?" She started to freak out a little bit, but maintained composure.
"I'm still beautiful, I'm still beautiful, I-I just need a little work done..." She began to fret.
Cooper didn't know how to react, or respond. he felt like nothing he could do would work, except for one thing.
He walked up to her, and hugged her. The same thing he had done last night, which worked so well. He got the same result tonight.
Roxy almost immediately calmed down and joined in.
"Yeah, you are still beautiful." He told her.
"Do you know how or who did this?" Roxy asked.
"Well not exactly, but it's quite a coincidence that this would happen at the same time that kid is here..."
"What kid?" Roxy said confused.
"Oh, yeah. Remember how I told you earlier tonight that I had a bad gut feeling about something?"
"Uh huh..."
"Well, I found a child sobbing in a vent just next to your raceway."
"Is that an accusation?"
"What? No of course not."
"OK, it just felt a little passive-aggressive."
"It wasn't supposed to be. I'm sorry."
"Is he OK?"
"I don't know. When I found him he was shaken up by something. But he calmed down soon after. Freddy is taking care of him now."
"That's good." Roxanne looked away. "Is this happening to anyone else?"
"What?"
"This... Decay... If you will."
"Well, come to think of it, Freddy did look a bit dirty and broken the last time I saw him. But I haven't visited Monty or Chica yet."
Roxy was kind of flattered in the fact she was the first pick the night guard wanted to talk to out of the three.
"Since you mentioned the other animatronics, I think it would be smart to check on them."
Cooper got up, said his goodbyes and went to check on the other animatronics to see if anything was wrong with them.
He walked by Chica's green room, looked in through her window and sure enough, she looked decayed too. cracks, colour fade and dirtiness.
Cooper would've checked Monty's green room, but his curtains were closed to the public, seeing as he often got very mad, and clawed and ripped his wallpaper, and often just ruined his room.
Since he couldn't hear any grunting, yelling or shouting, Cooper assumed that Monty was at gator golf.
Time for a trek. He thought. Just as he had exited the hallway leading from Rockstar row to the atrium, he noticed something move out of the corner of his eye.
He looked to the right sharply, scanning the area for any suspicious movement or figure. Nothing. Just my imagination. He then heard chatting. Coming from around the middle of the atrium. It was Gregory and Freddy.
"Gregory, I'm sorry, but due to my accident, I am currently on a restricted power supply. I must recharge hourly. It is a safety precaution."
"But... Who is going to look after me?"
"Perhaps Cooper can. If you trust him that is. He is the night guard after all."
"Hey, what are we talking about fellas?" Cooper called out.
"Oh. Here he is now. Wonderful timing. Cooper, I am currently on a restricted power supply due to my accident. Would you be so kind as to look over Gregory for a while whilst I recharge?"
"Sure. You're safe with me little guy."
Gregory was beginning to trust Cooper slightly more.
"OK." Gregory was much less nervous when he said this.
"Catch you two later." Freddy said whilst running off to the nearest recharge station.
Hairs on the back of Cooper's neck began to raise, as he felt as though he was being watched. His visit to Monty would have to wait.
