There was still just one problem. Monty. He had stopped pacing around and was now simply standing outside their door, waiting for something to happen. Cooper saw him staring blankly at the wall just opposite to Freddy's door, like he was under the influence.
"He's just standing there... Menacingly."
"Where is Chica?" Freddy asked.
"Ummm..." He began to swipe and tap his fazwatch. "Still in the lobby."
He wished there was a window just next to the door, but unfortunately there was none. He walked back to Freddy and began talking to him.
"Right, heres what we're going to do..."
Freddy walked up to the door, chest out, ready for bear, no pun intended. The door opened with a screech and the alligator immediately turned around, and ran for Freddy, he ran straight through the gold and velvet red rope separators, making quite the racket whilst somehow not tripping.
Freddy immedietaly began backing up into his room, with the door staying open and Monty following. Freddy had almost backed himself into a corner, and Monty slowed his approach, again. He started laughing, again. By now Freddy had reached the corner of his room, but he wasn't scared, far from it actually.
Crack! Zap! Pop! The tazer violated Cooper's and Freddy's ears, as it noisily reverberated inside of the enclosed room, only ceasing because of all the carpet and soft material that lay everywhere. Monty fell to the carpet with a soft thud this time.
"He doesn't learn, that alligator. Its getting old honestly." Cooper mocked, whilst he smirked at the body that lay infront of him. It was as if confidence was written all over his face. Freddy hopped over Monty's body and walked to his door. It stayed open as Freddy looked behind him from outside his room.
"Are you coming?" He asked, growing a little frustrated of Cooper being caught up in his heroics. Cooper stopped looking at the robot body and soon came to grips with the situation he was in again.
"Oh, right. Sorry." He said apologetically as he ran through the door, with Freddy following him, but not before closing his door, which could unfortunately not be locked from the outside. The two began to make their way to Roxy Raceway to help Greg.
They both went through the same hallway Gregory had gone through. I hope he's all right. Cooper thought to himself whilst running. It was the second time he had had to think that tonight. Starting to think he's more of a liability then anything. Cooper thought to himself. What? How could I think that? He's just a child, I can't blame him, besides the animatronics are after him, not me. He's done incredibly well to stay alive for this long with them hunting him.
Cooper was snapped out of his thoughts when he and his ally reached the atrium, and saw Chica guarding the entrance to the escalator, and therefore the entrance to Roxy Raceway. Freddy and Cooper both halted their paces, and stood to watch the chicken and her actions.
Cooper armed himself with his taser, which he grabbed from his toolbelt, whilst he leaned forward ready to run at the chicken if need be. Freddy noticed this and responded.
"No need Cooper, I will distract her, whilst you run. I don't want anymore of my friends getting hurt if they don't have to." Freddy began to slowly approach the glamrock chicken. Chica stood her ground, and began to get aggressive. She looked at Freddy and began to twitch rapidly whilst she leant in.
Cooper slowly and cautiously followed Freddy.
"Chica, its me..." Freddy began to grow concern on his face, and he walked towards her again slowly. Chica looked as though she was listening, and began to stop twitching. By this point, he was probably only around 4 meters from Chica. Cooper followed but still kept his distance.
Freddy continued closing the gap. 3 meters. 2 meters. They practically stood face to face. Freddy thought as though he was getting through to her. He put his hand on her shoulder pad.
"Cooper... She's fin-" He was interpreted when Chica turned from borderline creepy to completely hostile, when she pushed Freddy's arm off of her, and she punched the bear in the side of his jaw. Freddy stumbled backwards, and readied himself.
"I take that back." He said angrily as he clenched his teeth together. He put both his fists up ready for a fight. Cooper watched the two, slightly concerned, but also slightly entertained. Chica still stood blocking the escalator, until she ran at, and tried to attack Freddy.
He backed up enough so that a punch would not land, but that he would be in a good position to retaliate. Chica did end up throwing two punches, one of which missed, the other Freddy parried. Freddy responded with a jab just under her armpit.
"Cooper! Go help Gregory! I'll be fine!" Chica had moved enough so that she was now no longer blocking the escalator. Cooper sprinted past the robot chicken, who had swung back to attempt to grab him, to no avail, and dashed up the elevator. Chica was about to chase him, when Freddy gave a soft uppercut to her back, more to grab her attention then damage her. The two resumed their fighting stances and continued to tumble.
He ran to the right side of the atrium, he checked back and saw only the two previous animatronics duking it out. He half expected to see Monty close behind him on his tale, but fortunately he wasn't.
Cooper continued his mad dash towards Roxy Raceway, the carpet under his feet making soft pitter-patter sounds as he ran across it. He was almost at the entrance to the hallway when he could hear go karts. He entered and continued down the designated path. He ran through the heavily decorated hallways, taking no time to admire the beauty. He ran past the golden trophies that shimmered and shined so brightly in their case, without as much as batting an eye.
He ran through the shutter door and ran to the balcony to see what the hell was going on. He looked down onto the track only to see Gregory inside of a go kart, traveling fast towards Roxy, who stood maybe 30 odd meters away from him, paws out, looking like she was going to stop the kart? Cooper could see where this was going, and was not happy about it.
The boy was driving recklessly like a true loose cannon. He jittered and jolted in his seat, he didn't even have his seatbelt on. Cooper jumped over the railing, landed on the asphalt, on all fours. He felt a sharp pain when he landed. He looked at his hands and noticed some of the skin had been torn off. He turned his attention to the wolf and the boy.
Gregory meanwhile, inside of the kart was beggining to loose control. He attempted to steer clear of the wolf, hoping to avoid an accident, but instead only managed to loose control of the kart, flipping it and sending it straight at Roxy.
Roxy stood bewildered at what just happened. She hadn't noticed the kart was coming straight for her until it was too late. She put her paws down and looked at the kart, which was barreling towards her. Her eyes were open wide, her mouth even wider. It felt to her as though everything had gone to slow motion.
Her thoughts were interrupted when she heard a loud bang, then a crash, but noticed she was completely intact and okay. She looked behind her to see the go kart coming to a screeching halt, sparks and rubble flying everywhere. The kart was knocked off of it's original trajectory somehow.
She turned her head back to face Gregory, but noticed something beneath her.
Cooper ran towards the wolf, full speed, hoping to make it to her in time. He saw as Gregory crashed the kart, it began flying at Roxy with a deadly speed, he couldn't allow it to hit her. She had saved him once, now it was time for him to return the favour.
Cooper jumped in front of Roxanne just as the kart was about to hit her. His shoulder collided with the side of the go kart, more so moving Cooper then the kart. It was enough however, and he sent it's trajectory just past Roxy, clipping her hair and saving her.
He felt so much pain, everywhere. He looked at himself. His uniform was ripped almost everywhere from the middle of his body to his right shoulder. He was bleeding and had deep and shallow cuts just about everywhere. Bruises were already beginning to form, and he felt as if his shoulder was dislocated. He began to groan quietly, and breathed heavily. If Roxy was still hostile, he'd be easy pickings.
Roxy looked down to find the seriously injured body of Cooper. All traces of Gregory almost immedietaly left her mind, and the bleeding body infront of her replaced him. Gregory stood behind a prop streetlight and railing and watched on in horror, not daring to make a sound. Seeing Cooper in a state like this immedietaly replaced her hostile, hunting nature with her caring, loving, nurturing nature.
She quickly scooped his back up slightly, and made him face her. She put her left arm around his hip and began to try to comfort him.
"Cooper! Oh my god... What did I do?" She looked down at the man and began to feel overwhelmed at the extent of his injuries.
"You did nothing." He replied, his voice had lost enthusiasm, unsurprisingly. A small smile formed on his face. Ignoring all the pain for a moment, he felt really comfortable being held by the wolf like this. Roxy held him close and began to tear up, it felt familiar to both of them. She moved her head next to Cooper's and held it there after moving his back up a bit more.
"Relax Rox, I'm not going to die this time." Roxy giggled at the comment. "It just... hurts alot..." He clenched his mouth at the pulsating pain he was experiencing, as if he had just sucked on a lemon.
She moved her head, and lowered his back... A little too fast. He groaned loudly and moved his body to protect his shoulder out of reflex.
"Sorry, Sorry! I didn't mean too..." She looked at the guard, worried about what she had done.
"Its fine... Just don't do that again." Roxy moved her hand from his hip and placed it on his chest. "What can I do?" She asked sincerely. Her eyes opened up wide as she showed sympathy.
"Uhhh... Nothing much right now. Just stay here with me... please." Cooper thought Roxy was back to normal, but he still thought the sight of Gregory could trigger something inside of her. And despite his pain, he enjoyed her company. She nodded and stayed where she was.
Gregory was still behind the railing and wanted to leave. Cooper jumping in front of a go kart was a pretty decent distraction Gregory thought he should take advantage of. He looked over to the two one last time, who seemed to be talking. Gregory got up and made a run for it. He ran down the track opposite of Roxy and Cooper.
He didn't get far before Roxy noticed him, and immedietaly switched from support to assault. She moved her hand and arms and jumped over Cooper to chase Gregory. She hadn't dropped Cooper too far, but the distance he did fall was enough to fill his mind with enough swear words to last a millennia. He clutched his shoulder in pain without actually touching it.
He looked over to the boy, who was running from Roxy. There was no chance in hell Gregory was getting away when Roxy had the pace she did. When Cooper saw this, he questioned how the boy got away earlier. He yelled his name. Gregory. The boy looked behind him, and saw Cooper lying on the floor, motioning for him to come towards Cooper.
Gregory thought as though that was a death sentence, given the ferocious wolf that was just meters away from him by that point, but never the less he decided to trust him.
Gregory suddenly stopped himself dead in his tracks, turned around and looked at Roxy, who had slowed down in order to not flatten the boy, or overshoot him. Just as the two were about to collide, Gregory leapt to the left of the wolf, falling into a somersault to soften the landing.
Cooper watched on in relative amazement, as he was not expecting a however year old boy such as Gregory to be capable of that. Gregory exited the roll back onto his feet rather swiftly, and continued running, only this time now in Cooper's direction.
Roxy was stunned at the boys acrobatic performance, she skidded to a halt because of her blistering speed, then slowly took off again to continue hunting Greg.
Gregory reached Cooper, and saw the wolf begin to start accelerating again. "What?" He said frantically to the crippled night guard.
Cooper responded by pulling out his taser and tossing it to the boy, not safely at all. Gregory caught it however, and quickly readied himself for the approaching Roxy.
"Pull the trigger, then touch her with the metal part." Cooper told him. He felt bad about letting the boy do this, because it was going to hurt Roxy, and what kind of adult let's children play with tasers?
Roxy approached and was quickly shut down with Gregory ducking her initial swipe at him, only to retaliate with a zap to the stomach. She fell face first into the ground, just beside Cooper.
"That was close." Cooper said, laying on the ground, still in pain, but a lot less. He noticed that he was in less pain too, and checked his shoulder. He pulled his sleeve up and found an enormous bruise beginning to form. "Ouch."
He attempted to get to his feet, and after a couple painful seconds for both him and Gregory, eventually managed to get up, with a heavy limp however.
"Thanks?" Gregory questioned, wondering why he did all that. Despite Cooper's attempts, the same outcome had taken effect. He looked behind him as he followed Gregory to leave the track, saw Roxy's motionless body and felt as though he failed.
Don't worry, we'll come back for you. You'll be okay. If you don't get up on your own and start hunting us that is. He told himself. He wasn't sure she'd be alright though.
The two made their way off of the racetrack, and through the checkered tiles of the finish line. None of them felt like winners though.
