Chapter 1
"July 3rd, 1988…"
Iran Air Flight 655 was shot down over the Persian Gulf…I bring this up because this is the starting point of our great journey for justice. The news had come over the radio at the office of Team Rocket's Viridian City headquarters. Inside her large office suite, it's leader listened intentionally while stroking her Persian's head. More news came in…290 people were killed and there were no survivors.
"DEATH TO SATAN! DEATH TO THE INFIDEL!" screamed the voices coming onto the radio. The leader continued to hear the screams and the more she listened, the more anger built inside of her. For you see, Team Rocket was at war, war for world domination through the exploitation of Pokemon and the training of Pokemon to become vicious killers by any means necessary.
But her solitude was interrupted by the sounds of the door being opened by a young man in his early thirties.
"Don't you know you should knock, Giovanni?" she said in a commanding voice. "And don't you have Pokemon battles to fight as Viridian City Gym Leader?"
"I'm sorry mother, it's just that there is someone here. But he isn't here for a gym battle."
This made Giovanni's mother feel curious.
"Then what does this intruder want?"
"He wants justice, mother. Justice for what happened in Iran."
Maria's eyes widened and a small smile came onto her face. But she still needed more information.
"Is he from Iran?"
"Yes, he came from the embassy there."
"Then send him in," she ordered. "It's time that you continue being prepared for taking my place one day."
Giovanni darted from the office as Maria looked at her Persian.
"You see, Persian," she said. "This is a perfect opportunity to teach my son a lesson about eyes for eyes and teeth for teeth. In other words, what better way than to send a message to the Great Satan than with the same method we did three years ago?"
At that moment, a dark skinned man of Iranian descent came into the office as Maria stood up to greet him.
"Madam Boss," he said.
"Please, sit down," gestured Madame Boss and the man sat down. "Please accept my condolences on behalf of Team Rocket."
"Yes, this is why we have a proposition for you," he said. "A proposition to strike the Great Satan at its heart."
This made Maria feel a sense of excitement at the fact that Iran would come to her for this proposal.
"290 innocent souls murdered by the Great Satan…men…women and children floating in the sea, which is why Iran comes to you on account of your history of using Pokemon to attack airplanes."
"But it isn't just aviation, Mr. Ambassador," said Maria. "Team Rocket also uses Pokemon for a variety of tasks including bombings of buildings, assassinations and a variety of other methods. However, in this case…I think we might find a way to exact revenge while also bringing on more Pokemon to use at Team Rocket."
Maria reached into her desk as the Iranian watched closely and with interest.
"You might recall that Team Rocket carried out a bombing of an airliner three years ago that killed 329 people? Among those on board were Pokemon Trainers of Indian and Canadian descent. It was an Air India flight."
Looking at pictures of the carnage caused over the Atlantic, the Iranian studied them with intent, seeing the bodies of the dead, some mutilated, floating in the water.
"Yes, I seem to recall that you have a method for stealing Pokemon," he said. "To kill the trainers by blowing the airplane out of the sky."
He then looked at pictures of submarines in the shape of the Pokemon, Gyrados, with long arms that picked intact Pokeballs off of the ocean floor.
"75 Pokemon were collected from the bottom of the Atlantic, Mr. Ambassador," Maria explained. "They were brought here and brainwashed to be used for other terrorist attacks that we have carried out since."
Giovanni continued to carefully watch his mother and the Iranian banter off of each other. To him, there seemed to be a mutual interest of Team Rocket to carry out another airliner bombing.
"But there is something you should know," Maria said.
"What is that?" the Iranian asked.
"You are not the only ones who seek to attack America," advised Maria. "One of our longest serving allies is the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine, of which we were happy to provide Pokemon for them to use in several of their past hijackings."
"Like Entebbe, mother," Giovanni remarked. "The Air France flight with all the Israelis that were on board?"
"Of course, which would have been successful if the Israelis had not interfered in our plans. But, this won't be a hijacking like Entebbe and all the others. In fact, I know of a way to attack a symbol of the Great Satan without stepping foot on their homeland as well as snatch Pokemon off of their dead trainers at the bottom of the Atlantic."
Rising to her feet, Maria walked over to a newspaper clipping that she had on the wall of her office. It was a picture that was taken at the Karachi Airport of a Pan American World Airways jet that was hijacked.
…
"Pan Am," she said, taking the newspaper clipping off the wall. "Pan Am is a symbol of the United States and the one airline that Pokemon Trainers from America will travel on because they feel safe. But, of course, Pan Am is not like El Al."
"El Al is impossible, mother," said Giovanni. "No matter how hard we try, we cannot target Pokemon trainers that fly El Al. Their security is amongst the best in the world."
"But I don't intend on attacking El Al, do I?" remarked Maria, given her son a glare. "No, I don't. Because Pan Am's attempts to be El Al…are foolish and that is what we are going to take advantage of."
"They also fly Trans World Airlines too, mother, not just Pan Am."
"Well, why not attack a TWA flight to America, as well?" Maria said. "We also seized a TWA in Europe and managed to kill a navy diver on board in Beirut, remember? TWA is a symbol of the Great Satan, too and an attack against Pan Am and TWA is an attack against the United States."
The more the Iranian listened, the more excited he became.
"What do you propose that we do, mother?" Giovanni asked, eager to get the plan in motion.
Maria smiled evilly as the wheels in her head began to turn wildly. Before the year is out, she would carry out an attack that would be the greatest attack against America at that time.
