Author's Note: Hey everybody. Happy Valentine's to all you readers out there! Hope you've been doing well. It's a cold day in February today where I am, but that won't stop this update! I wanted to put a special ship out for the day this series revolves around, so why not mix superheroes, magic and Femslash together? This is a longer chapter, probably one of the longest I've written so far. More updates on the way for both stories and oneshots alike, so keep an eye out. As always, if you enjoy, remember to follow and favorite. And feel free to leave a review. It is always appreciated. Without further delay, enjoy!

Chapter 8: Of Love and Demons (Liv4Brutality)
Rhea's POV, 8:30 AM, Earth's Finest Headquarters, Brandelburg, February 8, 2024
BEEP BEEP! BEEP BEEP!
My phone clock sounds off. Stirring in my sleep, I shift to one side of the bed, the sheets coming with me. I grab the phone and shut it off, before softly moving back to where I was. Checking beside me, I notice the other side of the bed is empty. Craning my head around, I wonder where my girlfriend is. Shifting to a seated position, I feel a sharp pain in my right shoulder. I groan out, grabbing at it. Fuck.
"Rhea?" I hear quick footsteps echo before the bathroom door rips open. A 5ft.3 woman with piercing blue eyes, long blonde-platinum hair and beautiful pouty lips comes up to me, putting a hand on my cheek. She's wearing her favorite Chucky t-shirt I bought her, alongside some gray sweatpants, her feet with pink-painted toes on display. My girlfriend Liv Morgan, though most people know her as 'Warrior Witch'. "Are you alright? You need an aspirin? I'm sorry I left you, baby." she says apologetically.
"Don't be. This isn't your fault. Bayley was the one who shot me with that electrified harpoon a week ago." I tell her, rolling my shoulder. I lean into her palm and smile, which she returns in kind. God, she's so beautiful in the morning. "Hi, lovebug."
"Hi baby." Liv responds, before giving me a soft kiss. My eyes close and I feel myself shudder as our lips connect, my left arm instinctively wrapping around her waist. Liv moans softly, her hands tangling in my hair. Morning sex? Yes please. Perfect way to start the day. Liv deepens the kiss, her tongue tracing my bottom lip. I switch our positions, straddling her and making her giggle. "Rhea! Hahahaha! Already?" she teases, before looking up at me and biting her lip.
"You know I can't resist you, Liv." I murmur, caressing her face. Her eyes go lidded as her hands rub my exposed legs.
"God, I love that ink." she states, tracing a finger over the designs on my thigh. I bend down to kiss and lick her neck, before biting her ear.
"Want a closer look?" I whisper. Liv shudders.
"I haven't eaten yet…"
"No?" She shakes her head, giggling again. This woman and her giggle are going to kill me. I have such big plans for us on Valentine's Day next week. Fairy tale, swept-off-your-feet style plans. I'm talking horse-drawn carriage, dinner on a balcony, and moonlight walk along the river. But that's for the 14th. Right now, I'm focusing on Liv's hands playing with my bottoms. I can feel the hunger growing in me. Smiling at her, I start inching down my shorts. "Maybe we should change that. Breakfast is warm and ready for yo-"
*Intercom* "All E.F. members, to the board room. Urgent meeting in 5 minutes. Repeat, urgent meeting in the board room. 5 minutes."
Goddamn it, why?! Why now? Can't I spend one day with my girlfriend in bed? I groan out, Liv rubbing her hands on my hips.
"Shit. We need to get dressed." I groan again, clinging to her.
"Can't we stay in bed? Pretend we're sleeping?" I murmur into the sheets.
"It's urgent. It could be important."
"It's always urgent when they call us." I whine.
"Come on." Liv says, patting my ass. I, reluctantly, get off her, rolling to one side. "You need to come, too. They said all members." Liv quickly goes to our shared closet, grabbing my favorite torn jeans and shirt before tossing them to me. Catching them, I get dressed, watching my girlfriend disrobe, her curves on full display. She slowly inches her blue slacks up. Liv, you're going to kill me.
"Liv, no fair…" I whine again. Turning her head and giving me a naughty smile, she finally pulls them up, then puts on her shirt. Handing me some mouthwash, I quickly rinse up, spitting into the bathroom sink before putting on my sneakers and heading downstairs with her. My blood is boiling until Liv grabs my hand. I turn to her.
"You can destroy me later." she whispers, as we walk into the board room. I'm going to hold her to that. The E.F.C., or "Earth's Finest Coalition", is a collective for supernatural or other magical beings, such as witches, wizards, demons, etc. Our goal is to work with the armed forces and other special operatives to protect humanity from supernatural beings. We've had to deal with everything from demons, evil witches, flaming werewolves, cannibal faeries and a few deities with anger issues. Our organization, recognized by the UN, is separated into teams with a "handler" who reports to the military authorities in the country. There's at least one team for every continent, although the most powerful countries tend to have a few at their disposal. Our team, known as E.F. 2, consists of myself, or as they call me, "Winged Reaper"; my girlfriend, Liv Morgan, aka "Warrior Witch"; our cool Puerto Rican martial artist, Damian Priest, who goes by "Silver Strike"; Dragon Lee, the new recruit who has super agility and flame powers; our leader and my best friend, Bianca Belair, a half-demon hybrid with immeasurable power and speed who goes by "EST"; and our government agent, Mickie James. Mickie actually used to be leader of E.F. 2, under the codename "Agent Alexis", before getting promoted by the E.F.C. council. She's a former spy, and her methods have caused us to clash several times, now. Although, I have to admit, she looks great in spy gear. Mickie is dressed in a blue pants-suit and white blouse, her blue wedges clicking off the ground. Damian is seated at the desk with Dragon Lee, letting the kid warm up his white coffee mug. Both of them wave at us. Where is Bianca? It's not like her to be late.
"Really, Damian?" Liv asks with a chastising tone.
"What? He's got to learn how to use his powers at a lower level." Damian argues. Dragon Lee snaps his fingers, a blue flame forming under the cup. "Oh, thank you." Damian then takes a sip, lounging on his chair, his tank top showing off his huge muscular arms as he waits for Mickie to start the briefing.
"Hey Damian, you know where Bianca is?" I ask.
He shakes his head. "No idea. I saw her last night after we took down Alexa and her minions Downtown. Supposedly, it was date night with Montez." Sergeant Montez Ford was one of the special forces team members we were assigned to work with. He is also Bianca's husband. When they met on mission, it was like love at first sight. He's since retired. Such a cute family, too. Bianca was making custom made t-shirts for her stepchildren a week ago.
An intern brings in some documents to Mickie, before a group of military men, including Commander Jeffries, walk in. We've worked with his special forces group several times. If he's here, it's serious. "Alright, everyone." Mickie announces, getting everyone's attention. I notice her face is composed but twitching, as if she's got something on her mind. "I'm not going to sugar coat this. I'll come out and say it: Bianca's missing."
"What?" we question immediately. "What do you mean 'missing'?" I follow up with.
"We have reason to believe she was kidnapped." Mickie asserts. My eyes shoot up, Liv covering her mouth in shock, before we stare at Mickie. Damian and I stand, Lee following suit.
"How? She's one of the strongest members of E.F. 2. She carried a bridge once." Liv exclaims.
"We don't know. All signs point to forced entry. And the emergency response signal was deactivated on her necklace." Mickie tells us.
"How long have you known?" I ask. It's not the first time Mickie didn't give us the whole picture.
"Just this morning. I didn't want to alarm anyone until I knew what was going on."
"When was she last seen?" Damian questions in a low tone, his fists clenching the table and his tight jaw showing his anger.
"After the mission. She went to a restaurant with Tez. Some place on the East Side. We believe they must have taken them last night. She never returned from last night's mission, and never sent us a message. We sent 2 agents to her and Montez's home, only to find the doors broken into, clothes and blood on the floor."
"Them?" Liv asks.
"Montez and the kids are missing, too." What? They took Liam and Morgan? I'm going to eviscerate these bastards! Bianca would have fought tooth and nail to protect them. They may be her step kids, but she is such a good Mom and loves them so much.
"Son of a bitch!" I yell, smashing the table with his fist, leaving a huge dent. "Somebody's going to die."
"Rhea, getting worked up isn't going to help. Please, sit down."
"Don't tell me to sit down, Mickie! That's my best friend and her family we're talking about!" I scream, my horns starting to extend from my forehead and markings covering my body. My pulse races and I just feel like punching something. The soldiers start staring in shock, grabbing for their weapons. Commander Jeffries tells his men to stand down, before Mickie walks up to me.
She pulls me into an embrace, hugging me and whispering. "You know how much Bianca means to me. To all of us." Her voice is full of emotion, but she's holding herself back from crying. She pulls back, looking into my eyes. "This is my failure. She told me she wanted privacy, and because she's my friend, I gave it to her. And they struck." She looks at us. "That's my failure. And Commander Jeffries is demoting me for it. But there's more to this that I didn't get to finish. Does anyone remember the artifact Alexa had last night?"
"Of course." Liv says. "The necklace of Ahm-Shere. We stopped her before she could use its full power."
"She used it to bring those feathered serpents." Lee confirms, getting nods from everyone but me.
"That's right. And just this morning, we found a portal with the same markings just 5 blocks from where she was setting up last night." Mickie tells us, pressing a button on her phone. On screen, I see a red and purple portal, various symbols painted on the ground surrounding it. Whisps of smoke and fog pass through. The camera changes, and we see a large cage housing a gray and turquoise horse surrounded by soldiers. The thing must be almost 3 meters tall, and has a broad muscular body. The horse's mane and tail hair are red and gray, as are its eyes. The beast is immaculately clean, like it's been brushed and cared for. It has 2 heads and 8 legs, with coal black hooves that emit smoke. The horse bites and neighs at the cage, smashing violently against it with its legs and shoulder.
"¿Qué carajo es eso? (What the fuck is that?)" Damian questions.
"My unit has secured the site. Our experts tell us the portal's been opened for approximately 3 hours and 17 minutes. That thing is presumed to have come from the portal. It was trying to escape, injuring 6 of my men in the process. We were hoping you could tell us." Commander Jeffries asserts, getting straight to the point.
"That must be a war horse! The portal looks like it was carved right into the rock. Talk about committing to a summon!" Liv gushes, smiling the whole time.
"Babe, you're drooling. Calm down." I murmur. She always gets like this when it has to do with forbidden magic, summoning portals or conjuring beasts. The most she's made is a small gargoyle the size of a chihuahua and portals only an arm can fit through. Despite my heart racing and my fear for Bianca, I can't help smiling at Liv's enthusiasm.
"Oh, right. Sorry…" she apologizes, playing with her hair.
"It is pretty cool." Damian whispers to her, causing Liv to smile wide again.
"Alexa's was smaller." Dragon Lee asserts, his Mexican accent cutting through. "Didn't have all that smoke coming out either."
"Was there anyone at the site? Druids, sorcerers or just random people?" Damian asks.
"No one." Commander Jeffries answers. "Our sensors picked it up while we were cleaning up last night's portal remnants."
"This is too fishy. First Alexa last night, then Bianca. Now another portal." Dragon asserts.
"I agree. That's why-" Mickie starts, before I cut her off.
"We're going to get her back. And her family. Mark my words." I assert, getting back to Bianca. "Where's Alexa?"
"She's in a holding cell here while we transfer her to Crystal complex. Why?"
"I think it's time I ask her a few questions. If anyone knows what that is," I nod to the portal and creature, "it'd be her." I state, walking towards the containment block. Mickie grabs my arm, stopping me.
"Rhea, we need to play this safe. You going in there fists up might make Alexa less cooperative. We need to use threats and promises, not just punches."
"Perfect. If she talks, I promise I won't kill her." I argue, pulling my arm away and continuing towards the cells. Jeffries makes no attempt to stop me, simply staring as I walk past him. Liv, Damian and Dragon are hot on my tail. Mickie sighs, before grabbing her tablet and following. Once Alexa talks, she won't be so pissed at what I'm about to do.
Rhea's POV, E.F. HQ, Containment cells
Walking towards the containment cells, I see Alexa sitting on a chair, her shackled hands folded in front of her. She wears a gray and orange jumpsuit, her blonde hair with blue and pink ends flowing down her back. Her blue eyes spot me through the window, raising her eyebrow. I grab a guard and ask him to open it, squeezing his shirt tightly to get my message across. He quickly fumbles the card, putting it through the key slot, the door opening with a Whizz sound. Stepping through, Alexa gives me a fake smile.
"Oh, hello Reaper. Didn't think to see you here, Rhea. I was just getting to used to-" she states sarcastically, before I grab her throat and smash her against the concrete wall, the shackles jingling. "OW! Let go of me, you psycho!" she spits, gasping for air and feet kicking in the air.
"Where's Bianca?!" I scream.
"I don't fucking know!" she strains out, clutching my hand.
"Don't lie to me! Where the fuck did you take my friend?!"
"I don't know! Let me go, please!" she begs, her chest heaving and her blue eyes showing fear.
"Rhea, enough." Mickie scolds me. Turning, I notice her glaring at me. Dragon Lee stares in shock, while Damian gives me an approving nod. Liv's mouth hangs open, before motioning me to put her down. Turning back, I sigh and drop Alexa, her body hitting the ground. She quickly scoots away, rubbing her neck. Mickie then walks into the cell, looking down at her. "Ready to talk now, biscuit butt?"
Breathing deeply, Alexa responds. "Fine. Just keep her away from me." She points at me with her left hand.
"She's fine where she is. Now, EST and her family were kidnapped last night. You have any idea who could have taken her?"
"I already told you I don't know." she answers.
"Okay. Why did you try opening the portal last night?"
"It was a job. I don't exactly say no to money and powerful magic items." Alexa states with sarcasm.
"Who hired you?" Mickie asks, and Alexa purses her lips, shaking her head.
"Client anonymity is important in my line of work. Sorry, but no dice. I don't work for you anymore. So, you should treat your Goddess better." she says with an evil smile, giving me the same look.
"Go fuck yourself." I taunt, making her laugh.
"I'm only going to say this one more time: who hired you?" Mickie demands, inching closer. Alexa shakes her head again. "Fine. Then you can kiss your deal goodbye. No separate room. No individual served meal. Nothing. You'll spend the rest of your life at Crystal as a general inmate."
"Haha! I can handle myself, Mickie. You did train me, after all." Alexa taunts.
"Okay." Mickie turns, gesturing for me to follow. "Oh, by the way… did I tell you the best part?" Alexa stands up, dusting herself off while raising her eyebrow. The Virginia native smiles, pressing her card to the door. "You'll be rooming with Nikki and Piper."
Alexa's eyes go wide as she runs for the door. Her chain holds her back and it closes, taking away sound. She starts violently shaking her head and screaming no, getting all worked up. She tears at her chains, yanking them to no avail. I see her mouth please, before kicking her chair 6 times.
Mickie opens the cell door again, and Alexa wails.
"Please! They're fucking freaks! I was the one who put them behind bars. If I get stuck in a cell with them..."
"Give me a name." Mickie argues.
Alexa takes a deep breath, before answering. "No!"
"Then have fun with Nikki and Piper. I heard they're pretty 'loud' at night and keep the other prisoners awa-"
"Okay! Okay! His name is Baron Corbin. I was paid to set up a portal for him. In exchange, he paid me 3x more than usual, on top of gifting me the necklace."
Mickie pulls out the tablet, showing the portal and the horse. "Is this your doing?"
Alexa's eyes go wide, going closer while staring at the tablet. Her blue eyes focus on the image, her eyebrows furrowing. "No… I mean, mine was self-sustaining, but Corbin never said anything about duplicating. Those symbols are dangerous."
"You don't say." Damian retorts sarcastically.
"No, I'm serious! My portal had safety protocols. Last thing any caster wants is an army of demons or hell spawn burning your skin off. I use safety charms to contain or block anything too powerful from coming through. This one has none of those." she explains.
"Did Corbin know this?" Mickie asks.
"He should. That war horse is too clean to be wild, and it's aggressive I bet?" We all nod. "Whoever rides it has to be equally strong and sadistic." Alexa remarks, shuddering.
"What are you saying here, Alexa? Also, told you it was a war horse." Liv questions, then gloats happily.
Grabbing Mickie's tablet, she quickly goes into the Maps app and types in an address. Mickie watches on. "Where was the other portal?" Mickie points to the area and Alexa pins a few locations. She clicks through, zooming out and scanning the map. "That purple pin is where I met Corbin. So, my guess is he's somewhere here." She highlights a small area near the other portals.
"That's near the construction of the new underground metro line. Are you sure about this, Alexa?" Mickie questions. "If you fuck around, you know I'll take all your privileges away." Alexa shakes her head furiously.
"I don't do dangerous shit like this. You know me better than that. Anyone who opens a portal with no safety guards is asking for someone, or something evil, to come through. I wouldn't trade my life for another person's death wish."
"I believe her, Mick." Damian sounds out. "She never takes risks like this. Remember the Montana mission guys?"
"That's right. Alexa never even tried to touch that portal, despite there being a safeguard." Liv recalls.
Staring at Alexa, I try to see if she's lying. Looking for any sign of deceit. But the fear in her blue eyes and her hands shaking as she rubs them together shows otherwise. Mickie nods, walking out and closing the cell door. She pulls out her phone, using a secure channel. The phone is picked up immediately, Commander Jeffries's face coming on-screen. "Commander?"
"What do we know, Mickie?" his gruff voice answers.
"We have a name and area in the city to search for the culprit."
"Who and where?"
"West 2nd avenue, near the new metro line construction site. Name is Baron Corbin." She searches through records on her tablet. "Real estate tycoon, also former football and boxing champ. Contacted Alexa toe help set up the portal, and is presumed to be using them to bring in something to Brandelburg. He owns most of the land near the construction site, planning to build condos with it. He may know of EST's whereabouts."
"Metro line. 16 blocks. We can handle it."
"Already rerouting traffic. Prep the team, we're moving out now."
"Negative agent Mickie. You will remain here and perform recon with our team at the 2nd portal site. Keep one retainer excluding Winged Reaper with you. I'll be commanding this operation."
"But sir-"
"That's an order, Mickie. We'll find Bianca, and capture the suspect."
"Understood." Mickie answers coldly, before Jeffries hangs up. She turns to us, picking out Dragon Lee. "Dragon, you're with me. Damian, Liv and Rhea, saddle up. Meet the Commander in the training area in 10 minutes." she starts, reading off the screen. "Rhea, a word." She motions with her hand to follow her. Liv looks at me.
"I'll be just a minute." I tell her, giving her a quick peck. Walking with Damian and Dragon upstairs, I follow Mickie to the other side of the room. "What's up, Mickie?"
"Look, Rhea, I know we don't always see eye-to-eye. But be careful. You're not 100%, and I don't know why Jeffries chose you to join the team."
"Because I'm the strongest on the team, perhaps?" I suggest, sass in my voice.
She gives me a glare. "Would Bianca be happy to hear that?"
"Don't know. When we find her, I'll ask her." I turn, but Mickie stops me.
"Rhea, listen to me! We all know Bianca is leader."
"I never refuted that." I respond.
"Let me finish." She pauses. "We have no idea what we're walking into. I trust the team with my life, and I know the Commander means well…"
"But you think it's too early for me." I suggest.
"No. I want you on mission. I'm worried the Commander is going full force without checking the reins. Look at his plan." she argues, showing her tablet. "There's no recon. He's going to bring you 3 first, then blaze through once the target is spotted. If Corbin brought in something from the hell scape beforehand, you could all be in danger. We already have 1 friend missing. I don't want to lose anymore today." Mickie admits, sadness in her voice.
"*Sigh* Look, Mickie, you know I'm going to bring her back. No one will stop me from saving my best friend and her family. This bastard, Corbin, is going to pay. And if anyone, or anything, steps in my way or threatens my friends, I'll rip them apart." I tell her, emphasizing the last part.
"You are the most stubborn person I know." Mickie says, shaking her head. I just give her a shrug and smile. "Just be careful, okay? Watch out for the team, like you always do."
"Okay. I promise." Stepping away, I walk up the stairs and get changed, putting on my Amazonian style black breastplate; my black shoulder, elbow and brace armor plates; dark gray tactical pants and black combat boots. I put a charm Liv made around my neck, to protect me from poisons, fire, ice and disorientation spells. I take a deep breath, letting the red and black Ibex-like horns extend from my forehead. Staring in the mirror, I feel the markings form on my arms before my black and red feathered wings extending out from my back, touching the wall and shower curtain. Taking another breath, I retract them, then rendezvous with the team.
Commander Jeffries and his men greet me, all dressed in tactical gear and carrying small sensors to determine magical activity. Damian and Liv wave, my girl smiling and giving me onceovers. Liv is dressed in a similar outfit to my own, except with silver armor and white tactical clothing. Damian has purple karate Gi pants and a black belt, and a dark purple tactical style vest on his chest. This must be new, because it emits some sort of energy off his shoulders and chest.
"New gear?" I ask.
"Kind of you to notice. And yeah, just made it a few weeks ago. It helps me deflect projectiles. Bianca helped with the design." he explains, his voice lowering on the last part.
"We're going to get her back." Liv asserts.
"Hell yeah, we are." I end with, the APC and jeeps driving up. We get on. Don't worry B, we're on our way. Same for you Tez, Liam, and Morgan. Auntie Rhea's on her way.
Rhea's POV, 1 Hour Later, Metro Line Construction Zone
Having reached the area about 20 minutes ago, Damian, Liv and I stay in the APC with Commander Jeffries and a few soldiers, as to not arouse suspicion. I'm pretty certain this vehicle already did that. Special forces search the area with handheld sensors and snake cameras. I keep ringing my hands and tapping my foot, my mind circling over Bianca and her family. I can feel Liv's eyes on me in worry, observing my antsy behaviour. I feel her hand grab mine. I turn to look at her. Grasping it tightly, she gives me a small smile. My foot tapping slows, and I take a few breaths. Turning to look at Damian, he rolls his shoulders for the tenth time, showing his anxiousness.
"3rd building check. Small office complex." we hear, before they exclaim, "located EST and 3 civilians. 1 adult male, 2 children. Repeat, located EST and 3 civilians. Scanning building now. Awaiting further instruction, Commander."
"Hold your position." Commander Jeffries orders. "We'll rendezvous with you. Where is your location?"
"3 blocks NorthWest. Attention, vehicle blocking the entrance. Yellow dump truck, contents empty. No keys and unable to hotwire it. Repeat, unable to remove vehicle." I don't even wait, immediately getting up and opening the doors. I run the 3 blocks, Damian and Liv behind me.
"Reaper! Silver Strike! Warrior Witch stop!" Jeffries yells, but I don't care. Seeing the yellow truck in front of the building, I order the other soldiers to move. Once they do, I turn to Liv. She uses her magic to peer through, searching for magic or acid traps. When she shakes her head, I go into a squat, bending my knees and grabbing the truck. Come on, Rhea, for B. Lifting it, I feel my shoulders tense up, increasing the pain on my left one. Damian comes beside me, helping me move it. Liv also uses her magic to levitate the other side, just to give me more leverage. Breathing deeply, I get a firm grip on the truck, heaving it over my head. I tell Damian to move and he backs off. Moving with slow steps, I turn and place it in the middle of the street, several feet away. The dump truck bounces a bit as it comes down. Damian pats my back while Liv cheers, wrapping her arms around me. I thank them, then turn towards the building, watching the soldiers use the snake camera to make out any explosives. Liv leads us over, scanning the building with her magic.
"I can't find anything." Liv answers.
"Clear in the front entrance. Unable to see 3rd civilian or EST due to debris." Look through the small dirty window, I can clearly see the kids. At the far end, I can make out Bianca and Montez, the latter tied to a chair.
"Breach it now! They need us! If you can't, get out of the way." I yell and point at the door, readying my foot.
"Hold on Rhea." Damian argues.
"Hold on?!"
"Just because we haven't found anything doesn't mean there isn't an ambush. Or bombs. Did you confirm if there were any detonators or traps behind them?" he asks the squad.
"Negative Silver Strike. The children are in front, but EST and the male civilian are further away. We cannot confirm if any devices are behind the furniture or attached to the floor. We need to breach slowly to avoid setting off anything."
The soldiers attempt using a lockpick, to no avail. Slowly pulling out a pry-bar, they start to gently pry open the door. Finally, the lock breaks, one soldier with an assault rifle gingerly pushing it open. The minute I walk in, Liam and Morgan start making noise, their mouths bound with a cotton gag. Bastards are going to pay for this. I walk up and take their gags off, looking for any explosives. "Auntie Rhea!"
"Babies, I'm here." I say, noticing their bound feet and arms. I start working on taking off the rope. "Are you okay?"
As I work on untying them, Damian and Liv go with the other soldiers, Liv scanning for traps once more. "No sign of any explosives." a soldier pipes up.
"Then get them out of there!" Damian bellows, the others quickly going towards them. Cutting Montez free, Damian takes him, but Bianca hasn't responded. Soldiers continue searching, while some look over her injuries.
"Clear."
"Uncle Damie!" Liam exclaims.
"Hey little man. I'm just going to help get your dad outside."
"This is Warrior Witch. Require immediate extraction of EST and civilians." she calls through the radio. Morgan calls for her, and Liv immediately turns and picks her up. "Hi beautiful. Are you hurt anywhere?"
"My hands and ankles." she admits.
"Mine too." Liam echoes, and I take him into my arms.
"Don't worry, babies. Auntie Liv and Rhea are here." she states, kissing Morgan's cheek and using magic to soothe the pain on her wrists. She does the same for Liam.
"Reaper, we need someone stronger to help free EST." one of the soldiers asserts.
"Momma B?" Morgan asks, tears in her eyes as she looks behind them. I block their view, giving Liam to Liv.
"How is she?" I ask.
"She stable, breathing and awake. But we need help removing this equipment."
"Equipment?" Liam asks, looking at his sister. I turn, bending down to look at them.
"Hey, hey. Look here Liam and Morgan. Listen to Auntie Rhea." I say softly, their worried eyes focused on me. "Auntie Liv is going to take you to go see some nice people. They're going to help you feel better. I'm going to go back there and help Momma B. When you get home, you can have hot meals and all the dessert you want, okay?"
"Will Momma B get dessert, too?" they ask sweetly. I feel my heart break as I look over their sad but hopeful eyes. I nod.
"Yes. Lots of pancakes, just for her. Okay?" They respond in kind, and I kiss both of their heads before Liv turns and brings them outside. Going towards Bianca's location, I walk past the sofa and finally lay eyes on her. Jesus Christ… Bianca is on her knees, stripped bare. Her usual coffee complexion pale and her hair a mess. She has these large metal tubes in her arms and chest, each end held down by large metallic weights. She's doubled over, dry blood all over her arms and mouth. They must be holding her there. Her legs have scrapes and bruises, particularly on her calves. I go down to check on her, putting my hands on her face.
"Bianca? Bianca, can you hear me?" I ask, trying to control my anger as I feel how cold she is.
"Rhea…" she goes into a coughing fit, before taking a breath, "fuck… I saw you ta-ll-lking with… the babies…"
"Yeah. Yeah, I did." I respond, breaking the weights holding her down. On any other day, she'd crush these easily. What the fuck did they do to her? She leans back, weakly moving her shoulders, before I take her into my arms. "Should I break these?" I pick her up, carrying her to the outside.
"Sto- *cough*… Rhea, you hav-e to-to stop them… *breath* Some-Something coming." Bianca tells me, her voice hoarse.
"Don't worry about that. We got it. You worry about getting better." I murmur.
"T-Took my powe-ers." Bianca explains, panting. "S-So thirs-sty."
"We're going to get you some water right now, B. Hey! I need medic and water, now!" I scream out, some soldiers quickly shuffling their way over. One of them rips a bottle open, giving some to Bianca. She drinks greedily and takes a breath.
"Medics are this way." the soldier remarks, pointing to the red ambulance at the end of the street. I double time it there, seeing another driving out of the area. That must be the one with Tez and the kids. Paramedics spot me and run over, beginning to check vitals. I help her onto the stretcher, then move it into the back of the ambulance.
"Rhea… stop them. Careful… Please, be careful." she says, grabbing my hand and squeezing lightly. I nod, letting go and looking at the paramedics.
"Should I break the wires?" I ask.
"No, not yet. We'll handle it. We need to make sure they aren't connected to any vital arteries before we remove them." the taller paramedic states, before helping me close the doors. The ambulance pulls away, the siren going off not long after.
"Winged Reaper, we're moving in on the 3rd building to the right." Commander Jeffries calls over the radio. "Acknowledge, Reaper."
Grabbing the comm, I respond. "Acknowledged, Commander. Are Witch and Silver Strike with you?"
"We're here, Reaper." Damian responds.
"Is Bianca safe?" Liv questions.
"Just saw the ambulance off."
"Holding position while you catch up." Liv says sweetly. Running with a few soldiers, I notice the sun is almost down, its pink hue across the sky fading. We make our way over to the building, a dilapidated old warehouse with rusty windows and broken glass. Going inside, we walk until we reach the freight elevator, where Jeffries, Liv, Damian and the other soldiers are waiting. I notice 2 men on their knees, bound and held at gunpoint by our guys.
"Who are they?"
"2 guards. They're wearing tactical vests and were carrying automatics. We picked them up using our sensors. Silver Strike took down the 1st while my men took out the 2nd. We also defused an IED that was near the entrance." Jeffries explains.
"Sir, we have more magical activity on the sublevel beneath us." a soldier chimes in.
"I'm detecting the same thing." Liv tells us. "Similar to last night against Alexa."
"Another portal?" I ask.
"Could be. But… it's strange. It feels way different. I've never felt anything like it. Even B's energy is among it." she explains.
"EST?" Jeffries questions.
"Bianca told me they took her power. She had tubes in her body. Corbin might have used her to power his machine." I argue, going towards the stairwell.
"Might also be the safeguard thing Alexa mentioned. We need to get down there and stop this."
"We moving? I want to kill whoever did this to my friend." I assert angrily.
"Warrior Witch, Reaper, you 2 take point. My men and I will follow. Silver Strike, watch our backs. The rest of you, keep an eye on the exits and elevator. Once we start firing, the rats will try to run. Do anything you can to apprehend them, but kill them if need be. No one leaves this place unless it's in chains or a body bag. Clear?" Jeffries orders, his men saying yes sir. Liv and I go forward, Liv checking for traps with her magic again. The soldiers use a snake cam to check for any other IEDs. Seeing it clear, I open the door slowly, our group then heading down the stairs together. We go past the floors, Liv leading us to the large magical presence in the basement level. Once the door is shown to be safe, I open it. We quietly make our way inside, the smell of fire and sulfur overtaking our nostrils. I can hear voices up ahead. Sticking close to the wall, I notice a guard not far away. Going behind him, I cover his mouth and choke him out as he kicks and tries to get free. Once he slumps down, I hide him while a soldier takes his weapons, confiscating them. Noticing another small IED, Liv and the soldiers contain it, opening and disarming the device, before placing it in a bomb bag.
Peering through a window on the next door, I see a very large room. An underground factory area, with a high roof and strobe lights set up. 2 big furnaces, with rusting metal and copper piping, draw the eye. The dull gray stone of the room looks old, several cracks visible along the walls. A dark platform has been built, and on it sits a large archway, a bunch of soldiers with automatic weapons guarding it. Next to the arch is a big machine, like a generator with wiring inside. The wires resemble the ones I saw attached to Bianca. A tall man with a bald head, dark suit and tattoos checks over the generator, shooting purple magic into the portal, the middle rippling like a puddle. Looks like Corbin with less hair.
"Move that crate over here. We need this to be perfect to bring her into our world. So don't screw it up." he commands, the soldiers moving boxes over. I crouch down when a guard passes, looking behind me and motioning with my head towards the door. Jeffries' men prepare their weapons, when suddenly Corbin starts cheering. "Yes! Yes, it works. Here you are. Come right in. Don't be shy." he asserts.
Looking into the window again, Liv and I spot multiple golems coming through the portal. Gray leathery skin with crocodile-like spikes, their heavy footsteps echo off the walls. They must be 7ft.5, with barrel chests and huge 3 fingered hands and feet. 5 golems total, with 1 holding a staff of some sort. It's long and red, with a blue gem at the end. Corbin is like a kid in a candy shop, wide grin plastered across his stupid face.
"Baron Corbin, at your service." The creatures groan in response.
"Golems." I murmur.
"We're using armor piercing bullets. Should be enough." Jeffries puts forth. I give Damian a look, and he moves forward. I turn to Liv.
"Can you take out the guard?"
"Yep." she whispers. The guard is turned away, still staring at the beasts. Opening the door slightly, I watch her shoot a small pinprick sized spell at his head. The guard clears his throat, before holding it. As he bends over to spit up, Liv goes through the door and, crouching, prepares a knockout chop. Hitting his neck hard, he drops, but she catches him before his body can collide with the ground. We drag him to the door, Jeffries's men taking him away.
"Nice work." Damian whispers, praising Liv's skills.
"Reaper, with me. Warrior Witch and Silver Strike, the other walkway" Jeffries orders. Following, the Commander and I take some of his men to the right, while Liv and Damian take the left. I can hear Damian choking out guards left and right. I spot another one up ahead. As he turns, I clock him, and grabbing him as he falls. Taking his gun and giving it to another soldier, I lay him against the wall. He'll be out for a while. We keep going forward, descending down a ladder and landing on another guard. The old furnace provides us cover and darkness, as Corbin and the beasts discuss something.
"Where is she? It shouldn't take this long. The portal's been opened for 3 hours."
A golem roars in response, pressing against the book on the floor. Corbin picks it up. He reads through.
"At her convenience? What is that supposed to mean? I contacted her. There's absolutely no reason it should-"
The golem roars and hisses, moving his hands about.
"How was I supposed to know that? If Alexa hadn't been caught by those stupid idiots, we wouldn't have needed to wait another night. She could've brought her army before… Not that she needs one! I'm just saying." The creature roars softer, turning his back to Corbin. He shakes his head, before rubbing his face.
"Hey! What are you doing here?" a guard questions, pointing his flashlight at Liv and Damian. Shit, they saw them!
"It's Warrior Witch and Silver Strike. An EF squad, sir!" another yells.
"Shoot them now!" Corbin orders, firing spells at them.
Blue spells begin firing, bullets spraying from both sides. Corbin takes cover, the golems roaring and firing energy blasts of their own. Jeffries orders his men to engage. The gunfire makes the creatures roar, but doesn't seem to hurt them. I concentrate, my wings forming behind me. I fly forwards, knocking into a few men and tossing them at the wall. Damian, ever the fighter, roundhouse kicks and punches every man he can, before attacking a demon. The main golem shoots a blast from his staff, breaking the stairwell Liv is on. Damian begins pounding into his legs, hitting his knees multiple times. Flying to the beasts, I punch 1 in the face, then kick another into the wall. A blue energy blast blinds it, the beast swinging and hitting his friend. I turn towards Liv, who is disarming 2 of Corbin's men.
Then, as the battle continues, the portal turns gold. The main demon stands at attention, slightly hunched, Corbin yelling beside him as a figure walks through. A 5ft.7 woman, with a golden fair skin tone, saunters onto the platform. Her dark hair is pulled into a bun behind her head. She wears a black leather jacket, a black and gold breastplate with black spades on the front, black pants with armored knees and legs bracers, and a pair of armored black boots to finish it off. Damian and I exchange a look, before I watch her move. That walk. No… Not her.
Bullets bounce off her body, a look of confusion painting her features. Her brown eyes scan her surroundings, before she angrily storms up to Corbin and grabs his neck, his eyes widening in shock from being pulled from cover. "Where the fuck is my horse?"
"Concentrate fire on the Ace of Spades!" Commander Jeffries yells, the men turning their weapons and firing at the unknown woman. It does nothing to her. She barely even pays attention. Liv starts shooting energy blasts, but she dodges without a care. Given she's the daughter of a powerful demon lord, she isn't afraid of anyone. Hell, she nearly took all of South Dakota and Washington State the last time her army came through. The Ace of Spades is more strategic and skilled than most of our enemies, preferring to make people suffer than outright kill them. I'm the one who sent her back to Hell the first time, alongside Bianca.
"Please, your excellen-Argh!" Corbin starts, before she chokes him and throws him down. The golem with the staff roars and makes chirping sounds, causing her to get more aggravated.
"I hate that fucking name. Only these guardians use that name. Call me Shayna Baszler. Who took my horse?" Shayna demands. Damian and I continue beating the golems, hitting and breaking their jaws. The main golem points at us, Baszler staring right at me. Her eyes follow my moves, her eyebrows going up as she recognizing me. I fly high, picking up speed, then dive at her and punch her face. She gets knocked into the wall, her golem friend checking over her. She pushes him off, glaring at me.
"That was for EST, bitch!" I yell.
"Bitch?" she questions. "You haven't fucking changed." Shayna slowly walks along the platform. She has her hands up, protecting herself from another dive. She's no longer an open target. I know if I go head on, she'll try to counter me. I need to think of another strategy than dive attacks, and bullets aren't working. Fireballs maybe? I've never been good at these. Readying my magic, I aim for her. And then, seconds before I fire, she runs and leaps into the air, meeting me head on. I move to the other side to dodge her, but she zips through the air.
"What?" I scream, putting my arms up. She's gotten faster?
"Take this!" she screams back, punching me hard. Her fist glows red and hits my arm. The force makes me clench my fist harder, before she wails on me, hitting like a ton of bricks. I try to hit her back, but she blocks me. Breaking my defense with an arm drag, she tosses me hard and I go face first into a furnace. I fall to the ground, my head rattled and my face hurting me. My arms are scraped and I can feel her punches already leaving bruises. She lands on the ground seconds later, slowly walking up to me. "Don't think I forgot what you did?"
"Reaper!" Damian yells, a golem bearhugging him. He breaks the hold, bashing his head backwards and slamming the creature into a wall. As he gets up, Corbin hits him with a spell, then in the leg with a pipe. Damian falls to his forearms, grabbing at his thigh.
"You think you can come into my house, and disrespect me?" Corbin states in disbelief, smacking Damian again. Liv tries to come to me, but a golem blocks her path.
The soldiers continue firing at Shayna. She grabs the closest by the throat, using her other hand to turn his arm around and snapping it like a twig. As he screams, she throws him into another soldier, kicks an assault rifle up, catches it and whacks a 3rd across the face. She steps on his head for good measure, making sure to grind his face into the floor. Dropping the gun, she sweeps 2 men off their feet, pounding them into the ground with heavy knee strikes and straight fists to the jaw. Continuing to hit them until their faces are completely bloody and they stop moving. Quickly grabbing another by the balls, she squeezes hard, the man shouting in pain before she pulls him down. Holding him on the ground with her knees, she pulls his left arm back, hyperextending the elbow until it breaks, the joint popping out of place. She does the same to his right leg, his knee joint bent in the wrong direction, leaving the man moaning in pain. Jeffries fires a few pistol rounds at her face, tossing a grenade her way. She pump-kicks him, throwing the grenade behind her and killing his men, before following up with a right hook. He falls to the ground and she steps hard on his femur, breaking it in one movement. He cries out in pain, before Shayna socks him, silencing the Commander. Standing, she dusts off her jacket, then comes up to me. "Get up. We're not done."
Getting to my knees, I push myself off the ground and stand up. Wiping some blood off my lip with my hand, I glare at her. "How?"
"Corbin needed immortal power. He summoned me." Shayna states, shrugging.
"Does he know you can't give it to him?"
"No. But I don't give a shit. Put your arms up." she barks.
Doing so, I fly towards her, kicking her in the side. She grunts, but grabs my arms, squeezing down. I lock up with her, both of us trying to push the other.
"I hate you! Why didn't you stay in hell?!" I spit with venom.
"Fuck you, Rhea." she spits back, kneeing my stomach. The hit knocks the wind out of me and Shayna capitalizes, grabbing my arm and twisting it, before using her magic to force me down, her hands turning gold. "That's right." Shoving me on the ground, she grabs my wings and puts her foot on my back, yanking them towards her with full strength.
"Argh! GET OFF M-Ahhh!" I scream in pain, trying to shake her off. She's so damn strong, I can't-
"I'm tearing your wings off. Just like I did before. This time, it'll be a permanent fix." she argues, digging her fingers in and yanking again. I shake and pant, the pain shooting through my body. Fuck… Need to get her off. I rock back and forth, getting to my feet and causing Shayna to lose some grip. Using my strength, I pull my wing closer using my hand and elbow her, then throw her off. Shayna rolls on the ground, before ringing her hands and shoulders. "Stings huh? Guess you can't use that trick to fly away."
Retracting my wings, I stare daggers at her. "I don't need my wings to kick your arse."
"I'm waiting, Rhea." she taunts. I tackle her to the ground, both of us rolling around. Shayna grabs my hand and tries manipulating it into a hold. I turn us over and lay down punches, hitting her face and chest. She blocks some of them, then kicks me away. Getting back to our feet, we both slam into each other. Shayna tries to sweep my leg, but I elbow her throat. "Good. I felt that." Throwing another fist, she counters it, getting around my body and German suplexing me onto the hard ground. Rolling over me, she grabs my right arm and puts me in a Fujiwara armbar, pulling with enough force to snap it off. I fight with all I have, but she places her weight on me, grabbing my arm with both hands. "If I snap every limb, maybe I'll feel better." she murmurs, pulling me deeper into the hold.
Then, a blue energy blast hits her square in the chest. Baszler gets knocked off, and I roll away. Liv continues shooting spells. "Arcus! Arcus Barosh! Arcus Barosh!" she screams, the spells continuing to hit Shayna. I can see the fire in Liv's eyes as she defends me, teeth grit and scowl painted across her face. "Rhea, you okay?" she asks, then casting once again.
She went for the injured arm. I can feel my shoulder throbbing in pain. Liv stops, helping me to my feet. "She's not going to stop. Keep hitting her." I grab a damaged gun from the ground, light it aflame and throw it like a javelin, hitting Shayna's side. It breaks into sparks against her breastplate, knocking her a few feet before Liv's blasts hit her again and again. Grabbing Jeffries, she holds him up, blocking the shot. Liv hesitates. Shayna jumps high, throwing him at us. Liv uses her magic to slow him down, while Shayna jumps at me. I jump to meet her, spearing her mid-air.
"Oof!" she chokes out, before pounding my ribs on the way down. I plant her into the furnace, her body bouncing off it. I then slam her onto the ground for good measure. Pain shoots through my arm at the maneuver. Fuck… I start to stand, but 2 of those big demons come closer, twisting me off of her. Shayna wastes no time getting back up, pump kicking me in the face and kneeing me in the stomach. A 3rd one swats Liv down, his big hand hitting her in the face and chest. Shayna goes up to her, punt kicking her. I feel the rage shoot through me as she does.
"Get off me, you bastards!" I yell at the golems, who continue pressing me forward, making me fall to my knees. I look at Shayna. "Leave her alone! It's me you want, you bitch!" I scream, trying to goad her.
Stopping, Baszler comes back and grabs my chin, roughly lifting my face while her guardians hold me. "You're nothing. Nobody. A lucky one-and-done who holds back to have friends." Standing up, she walks over to Liv and grabs her by the hair, then drags her to her stomach. Grabbing her left arm, she starts twisting and turning it, manipulating her hand and wrist in different directions. Liv moans and cries out in pain, clawing at the floor with her other hand. I try to move, but it feels like my shoulders will pop out of their sockets at any moment. Fuck, let me go you freaks! Shayna continues torturing Liv, then forces her hand down, Liv's arm bent 90 degrees while she steps on her fingers. Baszler undoes her bun, tossing the hair tie away and pushing her long black hair to one side. She turns her head, staring at me.
"No, please wait! Hurt me instead! It's me you want. Please, DON'T!"
Quickly lifting her foot and slamming it down onto Liv's arm, I hear the crunch. Liv's blue eyes widen in shock and hurt, before she wails out in pain, rolling and grabbing it.
"AHHHHH! *Sobbing* My arm! Oh my God, my arm!"
My rage reaches a boiling point. You fucking whore! Shayna then lifts Liv's leg up and slams it down, her knee colliding into the cement with a thud. She cries out once more, still holding her arm.
"Rhea!" My whole body starts shaking. 1 of the guardians notices my arms twitching and tries to hold me down further. Turning my head with all the force I can muster, I start biting his arm, sinking my teeth into his rugged skin. I don't care if I lose teeth and cut my mouth, just let me the fuck go! After one large chomp, he shrieks, his grip loosening. He grabs me by the throat, lifting me up. I wrap my legs around his head, choking him. His other hand reaches up to grab my leg, but I deprive him of much needed breath, causing his eyes to bulge and face to turn purple. His friend tries to punch me, but I move over, the collision rocking the other golem and making him lose his grip on me. I get free, running and jumping to knee the golem in the back of the leg, staggering him. The bitten giant stares at me, then tries to smash me into the dirt. Rolling away, I notice my wings have not fully healed. Retracting them, I start laying into the other guardian as Baszler watches on, her face neutral and her arms crossed in front of her. The guardian and I lock up. Goddamn it, these guys are strong! I can hear Liv crying again. I need to get to her. Seeing the exposed leg, I lean to the right and bite his arm again, before kicking his knee. He groans, trying to smash me again. I attack the leg with sharp kicks, hitting the joint over and over while dodging his swipes and punches. The giant lands a punch, then grabs me around my waist. I try to break his grip as he squeezes down on my ribs and chest, making it hard to breathe. I beat down on his face, before interlocking my fingers and smashing down on his forehead with axe handles. My hands start to hurt, but eventually he lets me go, grabbing his head. I land another 2 strikes on his knee, the joint finally snapping as he growls. He falls to his back, and I follow up by knocking his lights out, punching until my arm tires.
I look down at my hands, blood all over my knuckles. Catching my breath, the other giant resurfaces, coming towards me. Get out of my way, you prick. Just as he gets close, Baszler throws a makeshift spear in his back, killing him instantly. I stare at her in anger and confusion, watching Liv scooting away from the two of them. Shayna stares at me, taking off her jacket and tossing it at her feet. Cracking her neck, she lifts both hands and does the "come at me" gesture. First Bianca. Now my girlfriend. Bitch, you're dead. Running towards her, she meets me halfway, punches flying at one another.
"I'll kill you, Shayna! Ah!"
"You couldn't if you tried!" she screams hoarsely, before twisting my arm behind my back. Going down to a low squat, I roll back, getting out of her hold. I throw a few punches, which Shayna blocks, our entire bodies glowing red as we fight. She grabs both my hands, fingers locked, the two of us staring in hatred. Teeth grit and hair wild, she starts pushing me back, forcing my feet to slide against the ground. I feel drained, but I have a plan. If I get her mad, she'll make a mistake. Then I can capitalize. I let her push me, using the opportunity to get closer. I elbow her face, then grab her leg and slam my fist into her thighs. She yells and beats me away, but I headbutt her. Grabbing our faces, Shayna tries judo-throwing me, but I maneuver out of it, pick her up and slam her down once again. I grab a grenade off a dead soldier, pull the pin, shove it in her mouth and throw her towards the portal. The explosion goes off and I watch Shayna collide with the stage, part of it breaking and falling on top of her. I waste no time and go straight to Liv.
"Liv!" I yell hoarsely, sliding to check on her. Seeing the tears falling and pain in her face makes my eyes water. "Baby, I'm here."
"Ow… It hurts…"
"I know. I'm getting you out of here."
"Girls!" Damian yells, meeting up with us.
"Where the hell were you?" I question.
"Dealing with Corbin and the other golems. He got the drop on me. He's dead." he says quickly. "Fuck, Liv…"
"We need to get her out of here." I turn and notice Baszler getting up, helping the golem with the staff before opening a portal. I grab a machine gun and fire at them, but Shayna simply laughs as the golem walks through, before following him, the portal closing seconds later. "Fucking bitch!"
"Rhea! Focus." Damian scolds me, checking on Liv. I hear the Commander moaning on the ground, trying to get closer.
"Pick up Jeffries. I've got her." I tell him. Gently taking her into my arms, I stand, ignoring the pain in my shoulder. The act makes her gasp in pain. "I've got you, Liv, okay? We're getting out of here." I say through tears, noticing the blood on her leg and keeping her closer.
"S-Sorry…"
"You have nothing to be sorry about. I'm the one who should be saying that." I say, blinking away the tears as my wings form and I fly us out of the building. Taking her straight to emergency, we're brought to a private section, away from prying eyes. I pace through the halls, as doctors come to give me their prognosis. It's a clean break and she's sedated, but it'll take time to heal. They attempt to check my shoulder, but I scowl and scare them off. This happened in front of me. I did nothing to stop it. Shayna knew. She knew it'd kill me. Fucking demon bitch! I punch the wall, breaking some of the chip rock and scaring some orderlies. Mickie calls a few minutes later. I give her a briefing over the phone. She listens, never once interrupting to let me vent. She consoles me, basically ordering me to get myself checked up. She tells me to give Liv her best and to stay strong. Damian and Dragon Lee arrive later, coming to check on me. They offer me a coffee, but I push it away. Finally, I take a seat, crying into my hands, the two of them hugging me in comfort.
Rhea's POV, Hospital, Valentine's Day, Morning
Walking up to the door with a box of donuts and the largest bouquet of flowers I could find, I knock on the door. Almost a week since our encounter with Baszler. My arm is wrapped up with bandages, but I pay them no mind. I got a text from Bianca telling me she's resting at home with Tez and the kids. She's watching Kung Fu Panda with them, and told me to kiss Liv for her. Trust me, that's not going to be a problem. I hear Liv's squeaky voice say 'Come in', and I slowly twist the doorknob and open the door. "Special delivery for a 'Miss Gionna Olivia Daddio'?" I tease, smiling at her.
"Babe, you didn't."
"Of course I did." I place the flowers in her hands, giving her the donuts.
"Oh my God, gimme." she begs, grabbing the box out of my hands and looking through. "I've been on weird hospital food for a week now. Only the banana bread is good. Oh, they're all decorated!"
"Special delivery. Mickie helped get them ready made for you. The one in the middle has Nutella." I explain. Liv immediately grabs it with her good arm and starts munching, Nutella getting all over her face. I can't help laughing.
"Wha?" she asks, her mouth still full.
"Hahaha! You look so cute. Like a sexy chipmunk." She smiles and cleans her face.
"Shut up." she pouts cutely, holding out her arm. I go to her and give her the biggest kiss I can, tasting Nutella on her lips. "Mmmm." Breaking it, she looks into my eyes with her blues cutely. "Thank you. This is wonderful."
"Happy Valentine's Day, beautiful. I had a whole plan for today before, you know, things happened."
"I'm sorry-"
"Don't you say that. This is not your fault at all. It's mine. I'm supposed to protect you." I argue. Liv caresses my face, pushing my hair behind my ear.
"We were all caught by surprise. We knew it was bad, but we didn't know it was Shayna bad. Bitch."
"Total bitch." I echo.
Giggling, she nuzzles my head, kissing me some more. "I want no more self-deprecation. Today is about us. The flowers are beautiful and the donuts are super tasty. You get one, so choose wisely." I notice her using magic to put the flowers into a vase, then turn on the sink to keep them in water.
I chuckle. "Just one donut?"
"Choose wisely." she repeats, smiling. "Did you bring what I asked?" She then bites her lip, looking me over.
"Yeah, but… how I am going to use it?" I whisper, showing my bag with the small Lovense vibrator at the bottom.
"It's simple. Go to the washroom and put it in. And give me my phone." she explains.
"That's for me?" I whisper-yell.
"Yep." she says without hesitation. Liv then batts her eyelashes, showing off her blues again. "Please, Rhea?" she begs softly.
"*Sigh* Okay. Give me a seco-" I start, before she claims my mouth with a possessive kiss.
"Love you!" Liv cheers, kissing me again. Slowly grabbing my bag, I get up and turn around, before feeling a swat on my arse.
"Oh!" I turn around, Liv looking in the other direction and whistling. "What was that?"
"I didn't do anything."
"You didn't just slap my arse?"
"No. I mean, if I did, it'd be fine because that thing is huge. But… No. Wasn't me." she states innocently.
"You're lucky I love you so much." I suggest, walking away while she laughs.
"Bring that booty back here soon. We have a whole day together! The whole MCU awaits!" She's going to be blasting that thing on high for shits and giggles while we watch Thor Ragnarok again. Goddamn tease she is. There are worse ways to spend the day.
