Chapter 9: Makeup for Valentine's (Cathy Kelley/Dakota Kai)

Cathy's POV, Philadelphia, PA, Morning After WrestleMania Part 1, 8:30 AM

Setting the small stovetop on high, I place a frying pan down with some olive oil, letting it heat up. Grabbing my dollar store knife, I cut a slit down the bacon package, the smell of it making my stomach growl.

A minute or so later, I place bacon into the pan, using my spatula to move them around. The sizzle of the bacon echoes off the small kitchen's walls. Quickly washing the knife, I go into the fridge and take out a medium fresh watermelon. Taking a moment to turn the bacon in the pan, I grab my knife and run it under the skin, then carefully cut the watermelon into triangular pieces. Placing them onto 2 plates, I go back to the bacon, making sure it's nice and juicy on both sides. I then remove it from stove, tasting a piece. The chewy and savory meat is like heaven in my mouth, the smoky aftertaste hitting the spot. Carefully moving them onto another plate, I leave the pan on the other burner to cool down.

I look behind me, staring at the bedroom door. Walking up to it, I peak inside. A ruffled white blanket covering her, I can hear my beautiful girlfriend snoring, watching her toss around in her sleep. Her 3 coloured hair- black with white and pink in the front- is all over the place. I was so proud seeing Cheree, AKA Dakota Kai, compete last night at WrestleMania Night 1. She did so well in the 8 women tag alongside her Damage CTRL teammates yesterday. Rhea and Becky gave the show a great opening, and the crowd was chanting hard for Cody and Seth when they fought the Bloodline. But not as hard as I was when I saw my King come out looking so gorgeous. Her makeup and outfit were on point, and Dakota did her very best in the match. When she came to the back, I was waiting right behind the gorilla for her. I made sure to give her the biggest hug and helped her to the trainer's room. She could not stop smiling and blushing when I gushed about how great they all were.

Tapering the door, I head back to the kitchen, spotting the bread on the counter. I grab it and open the package, pulling out 4 slices. I take a small butter knife and spoon from the drawer, then go into the cupboard. The blue and red Skippy label catches my eye immediately. I grab the jar and place it on the counter, before going through the fridge again. The strawberry jam is tucked in the door, right next to the unopened beer bottles and yogurt cups. Taking the jam and 2 yogurt cups, I put them next to the peanut butter. Opening the Skippy, I scrape some onto my knife and spread it on 2 pieces of bread, then use the spoon to pop open the jam jar. I spoon a generous amount onto the other 2 slices, then press the side with peanut butter on the others. Taking my small travel-sized pan and placing it on the burner, I put some oil on the pan and heat it up. I put the PB&Js into it, grilling them for about 4 minutes on each side, getting them nice and toasty. I place a grilled sandwich on each of our plates, then use a fork to add some bacon to them. Putting a yogurt cup on each plate, I hear a small voice call from behind me.

"Hey. What are you doing, baby cakes?" Dakota asks in her sexy Kiwi accent. Turning, I can't help smiling at her cuteness. Dakota has her blanket wrapped around her like a robe, her big brown eyes staring at me. Hair a mess and still clad in her Fallout Boy pajamas, she nibbles her bottom lip. The sunlight from the opened drapes hit her beautifully, bringing out her cheeks, golden nose ring and kissable lips.

"Hi King Kota. How did you sleep, beautiful?" I ask with a smile, making her play with her hair.

"Eh, pretty good. I missed cuddling in your arms berry, berry much." she says in the cutest little voice. Her and those damned puns. Walking up to her, I don't hesitate giving Dakota a kiss. A little moan escapes her as we do.

Pulling back, I giggle looking at her face. Eyes closed and breath ragged, she looks like she's on cloud 9. "Did that make it better?"

Opening her eyes and nodding her head, she answers. "Yes. Much better. So, what has my Queen been up to?" she asks, peaking her head past me like a little gopher.

"I was just making some breakfast for us. Why don't you take a seat? Do you want coffee or tea?"

"Tea please." Dakota answers, then lets the blanket fall off her, exposing her shoulders and pink undies. She stretches out her arms above her with a little moan, showing off the muscles in her shoulders, arms and legs. I stand and watch her, getting a little heated, before turning and going to the counter again. I grab a lemon ginger tea pack for Kota and orange pekoe for me. Placing them in 2 mugs, I pour some hot water from the coffee machine into both. I grab some Splenda packs, holding them with my teeth while bringing the cups to the table. Dakota takes hers, before smiling warmly. "Thanks baby."

I drop the Splenda packs onto the table and respond. "You're welcome." I state, putting my cup next to her and moving the chair closer. I head back and grab our plates, putting them in front of her.

"Ooh! I thought I smelled bacon. Why all this, Cathy?"

"Well, yesterday you fought at Mania and did a hell of a show, so I thought I'd treat you with a special breakfast. Plus, we never really got to enjoy Valentine's Day." Long story short, I had made plans for a romantic dinner with Dakota the week after Valentine's, but those plans fell out when our flights got cancelled and we had to handle rebooking. With our work schedules being so hectic in the lead-up to Mania, and Kota rooming with Iyo while I went with Kayla, it was amazing we had any time for each other.

"Aw, babe don't beat yourself up. You don't have to do a "Makeup for Valentine's". I had all those physio rehab sessions, remember? That's what ate away all our time." She worked so hard to get back in the ring. I will never hold her accountable for that, since that was not her fault.

"You are not to blame, baby cakes. You were healing up so you could put on the spectacle of a lifetime with Iyo, Asuka, Kairi and the rest of our friends last night. The King of the women's division, Dakota Kai." I embellish.

"Stop!" she says cutely, her cheeks a bright pink.

Taking a seat, I turn to her and say "No."

She sticks her tongue out at me, and I do the same. We spend the next minute just making funny faces at each other, before giggling. "So, what do we have for Breakfast?"

"I made you some lemon ginger tea, while I have orange pekoe." I answer, tearing open a Splenda and putting it in my tea, taking a sip. "Mmm. We have Greek yogurt, freshly cut watermelon, 3 sticks of bacon each and a grilled PB&J sandwich. Basic but fun, and in line with our diets." We're allowed to splurge every once in a while, so long as we work off the bad stuff. Luckily, there's enough protein, carbs, vitamins and minerals for this to still be considered a healthy meal.

"Minus the bacon?" Dakota questions, giggling again. I laugh with her, nodding.

"Yes, minus the bacon."

She takes some of the meat with her fork and bites into it. Moaning, she wipes her mouth.

"You like?"

She nods enthusiastically. "So tasty. You do wonders, Cathy." Dakota argues, kissing my cheek. I can't help the little wave of pride come over me at her comment.

"Thanks." We spend the next few minutes eating together, enjoying our meal. The bacon is smoky and savory, without being too dry. The Greek yogurt cuts into that, while the juicy watermelon refreshens my mouth. The grilled PB&J, though, is the star of this meal. Just a hint of bitter from the black parts, the crunch of the bread pairs well with the warm mixture of Skippy and strawberry, bringing out a sweet savory sandwich that makes Dakota's eyes roll in enjoyment. We sip from our tea, talking about our food and last night. I'm looking forward to tonight as well, and I know Dakota's coming to support me and the girls from the back. "So, what do you want to do now? It's like 10 AM. We don't have to be at the arena before 2 or 3 max."

Smirking, she places her mug down and batts her eyelashes at me. "There's 1 thing I really want to do right now."

Blinking, I look at her. "You brought your toys?"

"Ah-huh. Charged and ready." she states, raising her eyebrows.

"That's what you want to do?" Dakota nods her head, playing with her hair cutely. "Okay."

She gets up giddily, running to the bedroom and going through her suitcase. I put our plates in the sink, throwing out the trash. Something tells me we'll be occupied for the next few hours…

Time skip, Living Room

"Goddamn it!" I yell, putting down the switch. Staring at the device, I see the death screen to Hades, the famous roguelike Dakota loves playing on her Nintendo.

Dakota kisses my cheek. "You did your best, Queen Cathy. Here, come. We'll beat it together." She takes the game console, restarting the game and going straight into the fray, dispatching enemies with ease. I watch, nestled to her side, as she mows down monsters and bosses. Her little cheers when she beats a level and groans when she gets swarmed making me chuckle. Every so often, she'll encourage me to press a few buttons so we can finish the boss together. God, she's so cute. I kiss her cheek, before making my way down to her neck, attacking it with wet kisses and licks. She giggles, "Babe, stahp… Hehehehe, Cathy!" she murmurs, getting tickled by my affection. I pull her into my lap and hug her, continuing to lace kisses. She hums and holds me, closing her game and placing i on the other end of the couch. Grabbing my face, she kisses me sweetly, tasting like cherry lime lip balm. She pushes me down as we make out, running her hands over my face while I run mine up and down her back. Resting my head on the couch pillow, our legs entwine and bodies press together, moans escaping from both of us as our tongues meet.

Breaking the kiss, I look up into her eyes as she giggles again. "God, why do you always taste so good?" I ask, rubbing my thumb over her bottom lip. She nibbles it playfully, then fixes her hair.

"What time is it now?"

I check my phone, Dakota bending down to lie on top of me and snuggle. "It's 11:37."

"Only? Wow, we were up early."

"We had a late night. I don't think 8:30 is that early."

"That's because you're weird. But so am I, that's why we work."

Chuckling, I rub my hands over her shoulders. "You are something else."

"And you are berry comfortable." Oh God, don't start with the puns.

"Babe…"

"I'm sorry. Okay. By the way, did you drink any Pepsi today?"

"Uh, no. Why?"

"Cause you're so-da-licious." she states, staring at me with a serious face. I can't help but cover my face. "You did walk right into that one. Oh, I've got another question!"

"Baby, no more puns." I moan, wrapping my arms around her and pulling her into my chest. She giggles, running her nose along my neck and nuzzling her head against my chest.

"Okay. I'll stop for now. I really do have a question though."

Sighing, I answer. "What's your question, Kota?"

"Can we play with the other toys? Before we head to the arena again?" Dakota's chin on my chest, she looks up at me with big eyes.

Thinking for a second, I answer, bending down to kiss her again. "Yeah sure. Which console did you bring? Xbox? PC?"

Dakota smiles and plays with my hair. "Who said anything about a console?" she states in a husky voice, her eyes lidded.

"Wait. You mean…?"

"I did say toys, didn't I?" she questions, batting her eyelashes. "Think of it as a makeup to the makeup for Valentine's Day breakfast." I can feel my whole body getting warmer from her suggestive tone and the way her eyes size me up.

"Let's go." I sit up, Dakota still in my lap, then lift her off the couch. Instinctively, she wraps her arms around my neck and legs around my waist. Carrying her over to the bedroom, she speaks once again.

"We may want to put the do not disturb sign on. Don't want the cleaning lady walking in on us. That would be berry embarrassing." Dakota states, smiling again.

"You're never going to give those up, are you?"

"Not a chance." Putting her down and giving her a chaste kiss, I head to the front and grab the sign on the doorknob. I open the door and hang it outside, then shut it.

Going back to our room, I see her looking through her luggage, trying to find her special items. Smirking, I call out. "Hey King Kota?"

"Yes, Queen Cathy?"

"If you were a fruit… you'd be a fine-apple."

Dakota gasps loudly, her eyes widening and jaw dropping at my comment. I just give her a smile and put my hands on the bed. Finally finding what she's looking for, she smirks and crooks her finger at me. I crawl to her on the bed and connect our lips, grabbing her toy as we disrobe each other, letting our passion consume us. I hope we don't get a noise complaint.

Author's Note: Hey everyone. Hope you've been doing well. A new chapter, just for you. Short but sweet. Given the sheer amount of videos these two have circulating online, I decided to put their ship out there. King Kota and Queen Cathy have a great ring to them. More chapters in the works for this and my other fics on the way. Hope you enjoyed this. If you did, feel free to leave a review. It's always appreciated. Until next time, stay safe and enjoy your day!
