Hello! So, I have a DoaS deleted scene for you all. I really am trying to finish DoaS, so I am trying to avoid 'extra' scenes as much as possible. At least scenes that do not add or take from the story.

This is one of those scene. But I wanted to share because I really love this scene.

Anĝela comes to Wisconsin to see Danny! Enjoy!

DOAS Excerpt

[A week after Chapter 64]

Down in his father's lab, Danny soberly watched the local news on one of the TV monitors. Most of it was an anchorman and anchorwoman talking about the latest news happening a state away. But what impacted him the most was the picture of Amity Park… And the pillar of smoke rising above many of its destroyed buildings.

Even when the video had been taken in the middle of the night, you could see there was major damage to the city.

Now, the next day, there was no new on-scene footage since the Ghost King had sealed any entry or exit from the area. There were only vague reports from eyewitnesses calling into the emergency phone lines and videos somehow taken from very high up. But even those were outdated since communication was now also completely gone.

Danny was not too familiar with human technology. But he knew the signs…

His father was very meticulous with his takeovers. He always started the same way. When he targeted his next city, province, or state, he monitored and gathered information as Vladimir Masters. A billionaire with so much influence and connections was the perfect way to infiltrate even government databases.

His father had explained to him a while back that money was the highest power in the Human World….

Once he got the connections and information he needed, his father would send out ghost scouts to test and locate the anti-ghosts shields and security. Some of his warriors would further get intel of the known ghost hunters in the area—that is, if Masters had not already gotten that information himself.

Next, Technus was key to a quick and smooth invasion. Once Vladimir Masters got the security information needed or would manage to implant some kind of virus, Technus easily could corrupt and disable any human systems or technology.

In fact, Technus was one of the reasons his father's takeover of Amity Park had been delayed. With Technus being badly hurt in their last attempt, it had set his father back.

Of course, Technus was now back in the game at last.

His father always targeted the electrical grids first. Humans were instinctively afraid of the dark. Danny supposed it made sense. He also felt uncomfortable when he first discovered that as a human his visual field was nearly zero at night.

Even now, it still unnerved him. He hated the uncertainty that came with being practically blinded to the possible dangers around him.

It was also part of the reason his father almost always attacked before dawn. But the other reason was due to the portals. At night, the ghost portal activity was at its highest. And because of this, the escape of ecto-energy from those portals into the Human World was at its peak.

It meant his warriors would tire and lose energy less quickly. After all, ghosts needed ecto-energy from their environment to replenish their cores…

Something he and his father didn't need because of their regenerative cores.

Well… he still technically needed ambient energy due to his damaged core. But the energy bands his father made him helped quite a bit with that.

When takeovers went as planned, it did not take more than a day to gain complete control of the city or state—depending on the size of the area.

But what came next was the most grueling part of the invasion. And… it was the hardest to witness. And now that the Ghost King had clearly taken Amity Park, they would soon start feeling that second wave…

Danny honestly had never witnessed it firsthand himself. And… he was somewhat glad because he wasn't sure if he could take it. Witnessing the initial takeover was hard enough.

But he had heard plenty of tales. And he supposed now… He would be witnessing it from a human's perspective. At least, whatever the news on TV and papers captured.

But this next part of his father's plan was all about inflicting fear. Without fear, there was no respect. And the King was very direct on one thing: any rebellion from any human or any sign of a human being a hunter ended in death.

There was no mercy.

Weeding out anyone who refused the Ghost King's rule was imperative to assure the places that were captured remained captured and under the King's control. This piece could take anywhere from several months to a couple of years.

Berlin had been the hardest takeover so far. Not just because of its vast size but also because there had been a lot of people who fought back. Danny heard their ghost hunting technology was more advance than even the States. But in the end, his father had triumph.

Amity Park and its surrounding places would surely be much easier compared to that. It also didn't seem there was a lot of pushbacks at the moment.

Danny had been surprised about that. But it seemed the Fentons were nowhere to be found. And the Guys-in-White had left before his father even attacked.

Eventually, Danny knew things would settle. Many humans would suffer before then. Because in order to assure all rebellion was cut out, the King would go to the extremes of rationing supplies and enforcing strict curfews.

Danny did not talk much with his father about his methods… But he had asked Skulker once. He remembered asking him why such cruel lengths were necessary. It just didn't seem right… even if the teen did understand that in war some things were necessary—even awful things.

But Skulker had explained to him that harsh means were to assure complete control as quickly as possible. The longer the humans were allowed to struggle, fightback or not accept the King's rule, the longer they would suffer. It was almost like ripping off a bandage. You either came at the problem full force… Or you dragged it out painfully long.

Danny understood… It did not mean that part of him was not bothered by it.

But ultimately, his father was also his King.

And Danny knew firsthand the consequences of ignoring his rule or command. Of course, he obeyed by choice. He respected his father's leadership. His father was wise and good. If anything, Danny felt he did not obey his father enough. After all, if he had listened to his father in the past… maybe his mother would still be alive.

Danny shook his head banishing that last thought.

He was conflicted enough as it was with being out here in the Human World, alone. And now with the taker over of Amity Park. He did not need his past haunting him in his waking hours, too. That came at night…

The teenager let out a long sigh.

Eventually, things would settle down. The humans would be allowed to go back to their normal lives with just a few simple rules. One: no human could be seen or suspected of carrying anti-ghost weapons or devices. Two: Ghost Hunters or anyone attempting to rebel would be executed on the spot. Three: Everyone had to be in their homes by ten at night, every night. That was when his father's guards would patrol the streets to assure everyone was remaining compliant

There were a few more other restrictions and rules but those were minor compared to the first three.

"You have been in here for hours… Might I suggest a more productive activity?"

Danny glanced at the hologram of his father nearby.

"More productive?" Danny questioned quietly.

"Yes…," the hologram answered. "There are plenty of books in the library… Or perhaps some physical activity? Horseback riding? A stroll through the greenhouse?"

"My father is out there…," Danny answered, ignoring the hologram's suggestions all together. "I should be out there, too…. Helping… Fulfilling my duties at the King's side…"

The hologram stared quietly at the boy before it seemed to focus on the news. It took it a moment to compute what the teen was watching before it finally spoke up again.

"War is not… easy to witness."

"I know that," Danny replied, a bit annoyed. "I know it's not easy. I know it's not 'nice'. You might not know this, but I've seen it!"

"You have not," his father's hologram argued back.

Danny glared at it. "Yes, I have."

The hologram raised an eyebrow and the teen had to remind himself again that this was not his actual father.

"The problem with war, Daniel, is that it is never just the enemy that suffers but the innocent, too," it said. "You might have been part of a few stakeouts or an attempt at a takeover; but you have not witnessed what comes after."

The virtual program paused before adding, "Real war is suffering and death. It is having to watch children become orphans only because their parents are too proud to submit. It means having to pull a random person to set an example. No, Daniel… You have not seen how dark war can be…"

Danny stared uncertainty at the hologram. "I… I should still be there…"

"But you are not, because I did not want you there… You might be the Ghost Prince, but you are also my son and a young boy who should not have to witness so much darkness… So, you need to trust me… Allow me to save you from witnessing such violence for as long as possible… Because I have no doubt that eventually you will see it all… You might even be forced to make your own difficult decisions one day. And all I can hope is that when that day comes you will be as ready as possible. Remember, little badger, the only thing certain in war is death."

Danny lowered his gaze. "I… I wish there was another way…" He looked back at the figure, and added sadly, "I wish you were really here."

The hologram stared for a moment, clearly trying to compute what the teen was saying and find an appropriate response. But before it could, an alarm went off in the lab.

Danny gasped and jolted. "What is…?" But he trailed off when he saw the portal doors begin to flash before they opened with a hiss.

The boy's eyes widened when…a female human walked in…

No, wait…. That face…. And gold curly locks…

"Anĝela …?"

"Oh, Danny!" she exclaimed in relief the moment she saw him, and quickly ran over to him and pulled him into a hug.

"Oh, my Prince, I am so happy to see you!"

Danny was in shock. How was Anĝela here? And how did she look human? Her wings were gone, her eyes were a soft green, and her skin pale white…But it was her same face and smile.

"Anĝela, how are you…?"

Pulling away, Anĝela smiled before she pulled out Dora's amulet. "Your father's idea! He did not want you to be completely alone; so he asked Dora and I to take turns paying short visits to make sure you are alright while he is away."

She sighed before pulling him back in her arms. "I've been so worried about you…"

Danny finally relaxed and hugged her this time. "Thank you…I have been worried about you all, too…."

He pulled away as his smile melded into a frown. "But… even with your disguise, isn't it a big risk for you and Dora to come out here? You two might have been practicing Human Speech, but you barely know anything about… humans. What if someone finds out?"

Anĝela smiled reassuringly. "Do not fear, Dora and I will be using extreme caution… And I know more about humans and their behaviors than you think, Danny. I have read many human books over the years about human anatomy, physiology and psychology in my effort to help you and your father."

Danny shook his head. "But that's not the same. How are you going blend in around here when you don't know how to act human? Heck, I barely know and do not know how I've been managing it in these past weeks!"

"I just need to pretend well enough within these walls, child," she answered. "Your father has forbidden me from stepping outside this house. He says the amulet's energy is not traceable to humans; and in turn, the amulet suppresses my powers. But it's best to use caution and remain within this home's protection… Besides, it's not the first time I have come out here. When you were ill as a small boy, I had to come out here to check on you all the time."

"Yes, but… That was at the Rockies…," Danny replied, still worried. "There are other humans here, Anĝela."

"It will be fine, Danny. Your father would not have asked Dora and I to do this if he thought it was a risk to you more than a benefit."

Danny lowered his gaze. "I saw on the news… My father has started his… invasion."

"Yes, indeed. It usually takes a few months before he can assure a complete victory; so, he has much work to do right now."

"Right," Danny answered soberly.

"My, My… You look different," Anĝela then remarked, tilting her head.

"Yes… I know, my hair," Danny said with a sigh.

"Oh, yes! Your hair!"

She tilted her head. "I think I like it."

Danny chuckled; but then, with a surrendering sigh, he said, "Come on, c. I guess I can show you around."

"My name is Angie," she replied with a wink.

Danny raised an eyebrow.

"Your father said that my human name is 'Angie'; and I am… what was that word he used… Oh, yes! I am your nanny!"

Danny slapped a hand on his face. "My father…."

"—is quite clever," Anĝela finished brightly.

"Sure…," Danny agreed sarcastically. "Come on."

Anĝela nodded happily and followed after the boy. "After this… I should probably check you… How are you feeling? Any feelings of weakness? You seem thinner? Have you been eating well? Do you need vitamins?"

Danny paused and looked back at her. "Anĝela… Angie."

The woman nodded approvingly.

"Out here, you can't be my doctor. At least not around the humans."

"Oh, yes. I apologize…. But when we get a moment, I should still check you," she insisted.

Danny sighed again, "Alright. But later."

Anĝela just smiled and followed the boy out of the lab. They walked into Vlad's study. And as the fireplace sealed behind them, Anĝela looked around. She had never come to her King's Wisconsin home. Just the one at the Rockies years ago.

It still felt odd to be out here in the Human World. But she was so happy to get to see her Prince. That, and, well, she could not deny she felt a bit of excitement at this new venture. Ever since she learned her King and Prince were part human, she had strived to read and learn as much as she could about humans. But this was the first time she would get to witness human behavior outside of books.

Right then, she noticed the large photograph of Vladimir Masters in the study, and she smiled warmly.

"Such a handsome picture."

Danny paused and raised an eyebrow at the woman. "What?"

Anĝela blinked as she realized what she said. "Oh… The picture… It is a good… representation of your father."

Danny stared at the flustered female for a moment before looking at his father's portrait. "I guess."

He shook his head and they continued on.

Anĝela frowned at herself. But she soon forgot about her blunder when Danny opened the door and sitting in front of them was Matty.

"Meow."

Anĝela gasped. "What is that thing?"

Danny creased his eyebrows. "A cat."

"An animal!" she said excitedly bending forward to look at the creature. "I have read about them in books… I thought they lived outside."

Danny smiled. Well, at least he wasn't the only clueless one around here now.

"Most do. But Matty doesn't. She's my… pet. Companion."

"How fascinating!" she replied. "Do you have more of these pets around here?"

The teen chuckled. "Just Matty." But then he paused and said, "Actually, there's some fish around here… and horses."

"Fish? Horses?" she repeated. She did not know those words.

Danny just gestured for her to follow and they headed out back.

"Oh my… it's so… blue."

Danny looked back at the woman and saw her staring in awe at the sky. That's right. Anĝela really had never seen the Human World sky, since she had never ventured outside the walls of their Rockies' home in the past.

The teen smiled a bit. "Yeah, it's something else, right?"

"Something else, indeed. So different."

Anĝela looked out past the gardens and to the forest in the distance. In all her life of hearing about the dangers of the Human World, she had never known of its beauties. It truly left her speechless.

"Master Daniel?"

Danny looked back and saw Hobson walking over.

"Who is your guest?" he asked curiously. "I did not hear the doorbell ring."

Anĝela quickly looked at Hobson; and remembering Vlad mention to her of the human helpers in the house, she extended a hand like the older hybrid had shown her and said, "Greetings. I am Angie, Danny's nanny. And I am here to make sure he is well while Mr. Masters is away."

The butler's eyebrows creased in confusion. He had not received any notice from his boss of a 'nanny' stopping by.

But Danny was also surprised by how easily Anĝela had just jumped into her role.

"I see…," Hobson answered, unsure. "Will you be staying indefinitely…? Should we prepare you a room?"

Anĝela hesitated this time. She might have been practicing Human Speech, but there were still plenty of words she did not know.

"I will be staying for as long as needed," she replied before she turned away from the human and returned to exploring her surroundings. "Look at that pond! How grand!"

Hobson blinked as the woman walked over and stared into the pool.

"Danny, I found those horses!"

The teen's face turned bright red, and he rubbed at his neck. He glanced nervously at the confused butler and explained, "She's from Germany. She's still working on her… English…. Excuse me."

Danny walked over to Anĝela who had now sat next to the pool and ran her fingers through the water. "It's so warm!"

"Um, Mrs. Angie… the pool is heated, and you found the fishes."

Anĝela blinked up at him before she laughed. "Oh, my, yes! Oh, but look…," she reached closer and touched the glass separating the fish from the pool. "Why are they trapped behind this crystal barrier?"

Danny glanced back to Hobson who still looked really confused. The teen smiled. "Hey, will lunch be ready soon?"

The butler nodded. "Yes… is your… nanny staying?"

The boy nodded. "Yes, and maybe prepare a room for her. She will probably be a around for a few days."

"Yes, and so will Dora. Do not forget her, Danny," Anĝela jumped in. "She will be coming by for your voice and piano lessons! Very important lessons for a growing gentleman!"

"Dora, you say?" Hobson questioned, clearly still taken aback by the suddenness of these new visitors.

"She is Anĝela's sister. They will take turns… um… visiting," Danny explained with a blush.

"I see. Very well, sir. I will come fetch you both when lunch is ready."

"Thank you!"

Danny watched the man walk away, before he felt Anĝela place a hand on his shoulder. "You do not need to be so worried, my Prince. He will not think me anything else than human."

"Anĝela, shhh!" Danny quickly said, looking back at her. "You can't call me that here!"

Danny knew the castle was pretty safe, but he did not want to risk it.

"Oh, yes, right! I am sorry!" she replied. But then she turned her gaze back to the pool and said, "About your pet fish… why are they imprisoned like this?"

Danny sat beside her by the pool and reached down to also touch the water. "They need their own area to swim, I guess."

"Why? Are they poisonous?"

Danny opened his mouth, but then closed it. Were they? Also, why were they separated from the pool water?

"I don't really know…," he admitted though he now stared thoughtfully at the fishes and the pool.

"Perhaps we can go swimming?" she suggested with a smile.

Danny shook his head. "I don't think that's a good idea." He glanced around before he whispered to her, "Humans need to breathe, and the water here is dense… I still have not figured out how to stay afloat. Also… I have this weird reaction when I'm in the water… See, the other day I took a shower and I realized my symbol briefly showed up… What if it happens here in this water, too?"

"Really?" she asked curiously. "Are you sure you are not just stressed? You know your core can react to stress."

Danny sighed. "What part of all this is not stressful?"

Anĝela frowned in sympathy. "I know you want to go home. And really, we all want you home again; but be patient, young one. Trust your father. You will see, things will return to normal soon enough."

She smiled at him before standing. "I think we should definitely go swimming. It cannot be too hard to learn how to swim in these waters. We can both learn together."

She looked at the water and added, "And maybe we can figure out how to release your pets here…."

Danny laughed. "Maybe we should just leave them where they are, but… okay about the swimming. We just… Well, we will need to change. Hobson got upset with me last time I came out here and got my pants wet. Apparently, there is specific attire for swimming."

"How strange? Humans are odd creatures, are they not?"

Danny nodded. "Would you believe me if I told you they have built these machines they use to run standing in one place?"

"You don't say?"

Danny nodded. "It literally takes you nowhere. They call it a treadmill. And then, there's another machine that you climb but it also takes you nowhere. It's the strangest thing."

"Where do they keep such bizarre things?"

"They call it a 'gym'," Danny whispered back. "I'll show you later. My father has one in the castle here. I still do not understand its purpose…"

"Very strange," Anĝela agreed before they finally headed back inside to look for appropriate clothes to go swimming.

The female then smiled and pulled the boy into a side hug. "I really cannot express how happy I am to see you."

Danny smiled. "Me, too. Thank you for coming."

They soon entered the foyer and ran into Carl who had just come in with several bags and boxes on hand.

"What's all this?" Danny asked, confused.

"Oh, kid!" he exclaimed at hearing his voice, but he didn't look at him as he walked over to the nearest decorative table to set down the boxes. He still had a few more to unload from the car.

"Just who I was going to go find," he continued. "Your father sent me a message. He told me to pick up these things at his company's mail office… Did you know he hired a nanny?" He laughed. "I guess he thinks you need a babysitter, kid!"

Danny rolled his eyes.

"He just wants to make sure his son is cared for," Anĝela jumped in. "Is that a problem?"

Carl startled and finally turned to face Danny and noticed the woman next to him.

"Oh, you're here." He quickly smiled wider at the beautiful woman. "A pleasure to meet you… My name is Carl."

Anĝela was clearly not impressed. "Angie," she answered shortly before she focused back on Danny. "Your father sent for my things, it seems."

"I see…," Danny answered. His father really did think of everything….

Right then, Hobson came in. "What's all this?"

"My things," Anĝela quickly answered.

"Oh," Hobson replied. "Well, here, I will help Carl take these to your room then. Are you both hungry? Lunch is ready?"

"Danny should eat," Anĝela replied. "Then, we will go swimming with the appropriate wardrobe."

Carl and Hobson immediately looked at each other.

Danny laughed nervously. "That sounds good, Hobson, thank you…. Let us go to the dining room for lunch…"

As the two walked off, Carl watched after them before he looked at Hobson, and asked, "Is she also from Germany?"

"Apparently so," Hobson answered with a shake of his head.

"Must be a remote part," Carl muttered, but then he smiled. "At least they have beautiful women there apparen—Ow!"

"Enough," Hobson chided after slapping him on the back of his head.

"Geez, just sayin' she's pretty. Didn't know that was a crime."

"Carl…"

"Yeah, Yeah…"

As Carl grabbed the boxes again, he headed towards the stairs, but heard 'Angie' say from down the hall, "Oh, look… There is a clock in here! I have always wanted to see one in person!"

Carl blinked but then shook his head. "Definitely an isolated part of Germany…"
