Summary: Luz walked back to the Owl House, or home as she'll be calling it for the foreseeable future, when she felt something sharp hit the back of her neck. She passes out and when she wakes up, she's chained up in the Emperor's Castle.

The door opened and Emperor Belos entered the dungeon. He looked at the teenager chained to the wall. He walked up to her, wondering if today is the day she breaks.

"You've been gone from the public for three months, no one has come to rescue you, no one even cares that you're gone. And yet... you still remain hopeful."

"T-t-they'll come. T-t-they have too."

He stared at the girl. Here normally tan skin was almost the shade of paper, her hair growing past her shoulder's and her bangs cover her eyes, her school uniform was barely holding on to her thin frame. Her ribs were visible through her skin and you could easily see dried tears on her face.

"Unfortunately, your optimism is misplaced. No one's coming. They've all moved on." Belos said, "Just give up."

The girl looked up at him and, even though he couldn't see it past her hair, he knew she was glaring at her with bloodshot eyes.

"Never."

He knew her will was strong, be even he never imagined her making it this far. He walked out of the room and closed the door. Sending the room back into darkness. Belos looked at his guards and nodded.

"You know what to do." he said.

He walked away as they went into the room. He walked back into the throne room.

"How has the progress on the Human going?" Kikimora asked.

"Her will is strong, stronger than I could've ever imagined. But when I'm done, she'll be loyal only to the Coven." He said.

"And what do we do after that?"

"We commence with step two."

After a second, Kikimora spoke again.

"Are you sure you want her as your Heir?"

"I am certain. I chose her because I know how badly it will hurt the Owl Lady."

A few hours later, Luz was dragged back to the chains. They spent hours beating her, using lightning spells on her, and even shot an arrow into her leg. They attached her wrist's back to the chains and left. In the pitch-black room, Luz started crying. She held the pain in, but eventually, she had to let it go.

"T-t-they'll come for me... they have too." Luz cried, "T-t-they won't forget me. T-t-they can't forget me. R-r-right?"
