A/N: No matter how much I love Logan & Ororo, sadly, I don't own them, the X-Men, or any other Marvel characters!
Summary: A little Jean and Scott drama, some time skips, a few flashbacks, along with the trial of Magneto from X-Men '97.
Chapter 4
"Hank, can't you determine who the father is before the baby is born?"
The hairy blue beast sighs, shaking his head as he looks at his friend. "Sorry, my friend. I can only determine the father once Jean has the baby." Jean accepts Hank's paper towel and wipes the cold jelly from her large stomach. The past seven months were exhausting carrying her baby girl; not to mention, her relationship with Scott has been strained since she revealed that there is a fifty percent chance that he is not the father. The once-happy couple barely talk unless it's concerning the baby. They still share the same room, with Jean sleeping in the bed while Scott either goes off somewhere at night or he'll sleep on the couch in their room.
"Scott, please stop harassing Hank over this. You ask him the same question every time." Jean begs as he helps her off the table. Scott rolls his eyes under his sunglasses, mumbling, "I wouldn't have to if I knew this was my child or not." He walks out of the room as her head snaps to look at him, her anger rising quickly due to her out-of-wack hormones; however, she bites the inside of her cheek and rubs Hank on the arm. "See you next time to deliver my baby."
Hank smiles and says, "Hopefully that won't be too soon. Now remember to take it easy and relax." She nods and walks out. Scott was waiting in the hallway and walked to the elevator with her. The awkward silence between them was deafening. Jean brushes her hand against his, watching him tense up. "Jean-"
"Scott, please listen to me."
The elevator dings as the doors slide apart. Scott gets off first, then turns to her and says, "We'll talk later." He walks off with his hands in his pockets, leaving his pregnant, estranged wife alone.
"Jean, are you okay?"
She turns around slowly, seeing Logan walking up with David, who is holding a football in his hands. She blinks away the wetness trying to form in her eyes and smiles, "I'm fine."
"Logan and I are going to play football, Miss Jeanie." Jean giggles at how cute David is. She gently rubs the top of his hair, her fingers tangled up in his freshly done twists. "Give Logan a big tackle for me, okay, buddy?"
David holds out this pinky to her as Logan smirks and playfully nudges the boy's back with his foot, messing up the pinky promise. "Go on ahead, and I'll meet you out back, bud." David listens to his foster dad and runs out of the hall.
With the child away, Jean focuses on Logan, who is practically staring into her soul. "Today was your last check-up, right? How did that go?" She nods slowly and says, "It went well. I just have to take it easy and relax until it's time."
"Good, I guess... Let me know when it's time." Logan awkwardly leaves her alone, patting her on the shoulder as he walks off. Jean watches him leave and sighs loudly once he is out of her sight. It was clear Logan was only checking up on her because of the baby, which was potentially his. Like Scott, their conversations were only about the baby, but Logan wasn't hostile towards her like her husband is. She waddles her way up the hall, stopping once she reaches her destination, Ororo's room.
**Seven Months Ago**
Ororo kisses David's forehead after her singing puts him to sleep. She tucks him in and turns off the lamp on his bedside table before leaving the room. She leans on the wall and rotates an ankle in a circle, groaning at her foot's pain. With a huff, she walks to her room and unlocks it with her key. She hits the light switch, illuminating the room, and sees Logan looking disheveled in a chair.
"Ro, we need to talk."
She scoffs loudly. "Yes, we do." She sighs while walking over to the bed, throwing off her heels. Her hands began to massage her foot. Logan gets up from the chair and boldly sits next to her. Ororo tenses up and raises an eyebrow at him. "Talk."
"Jean said she might be having my baby." He blurts it out.
"I heard. She told me the great news when I went to make up with her." Her eyes cut to him, "Congratulations."
Logan lets out an annoyed growl. "I didn't cheat on you, if that's what you're thinking, Ro." Ororo lets out a sinister laugh. "I know you didn't. You slept with her the month before you asked me out, correct?"
The man was confused at this point. Was she upset or not? "Right. You shouldn't even be upset at me then! That hookup was way before we got together." He gets up, hovering over her. Ororo looks into his eyes, watching the rage dance around in his pupils. "We don't even know if this baby is mine!"
Deep down, she knew he was right, but what if it was his child? Jean is technically still attached to him. Jean will have given him his first child. Whatever milestone the baby accomplishes, Jean will be there no matter what; it drains her to know it'll be that way for eighteen years. That's where her anger lies.
She pushes him away from her face. "I need time, Logan." She starts to get up, but he grabs her arms and forces her body up against the wall. He snarls loudly as his grip on her arms gets tighter. "Listen, darling, I'm not letting you go. You don't need time! Dammit, Ro, I love you. You're my woman, and I don't care about Jean like that anymore, but if this is my baby, I will take care of it. I'm gonna make sure you're right there with me."
With her eyes shut, she felt her cheeks wet as she tried to control her emotions before her powers took over. She felt his hot lips kissing her silk-like skin. She wanted to push him away, but her arms felt limp as he whisked her back to her bed, laying her down on the satin sheets and continuing to kiss her body.
His rough hands caressed her curves, running up and down her dress, fighting the zipper on the back. He grunts as he pulls out a claw and tears the dress in half. Even though he had seen her naked body before, it was always as if he were seeing it for the first time. A soft whimper escapes her lips as she feels him sucking against her nipple. His hand rubbed her inner thigh before spreading her legs open. She moans, feeling him touch her sensitive spots, "Logan!" She squeals as a finger slips inside of her. Her breathing increased as his fingers slipped in deeper. He moves his lips to her ear, licking against her earlobe. "You're mine, Ro." He growls, sending shivers up and down her spine. The next thing she felt was him biting against her shoulder. She realizes he is claiming her, marking his territory. Her mouth opens to gasp as she feels something hard sliding inside of her. No sounds slipped out of her mouth, but her nails digging into Logan's biceps turned him on. His eyes turn black as the beast begins to take over.
"L-Logan!"
**Present Day**
Jean lightly knocks on Ororo's door. The goddess answers the door with a light smile, allowing the pregnant woman to enter. "Jean! How are you?" Ororo returns to her balcony, using her powers to summon a rain cloud to water her plants. The telepath groans as she takes a seat in Ororo's hanging hair, stretching her legs out. "It's only noon and I am exhausted."
"How did your appointment go?"
"It went well! Hank says she is growing steadily; as you can see from my belly, she will be a big baby." She smiles while rubbing her slightly itchy belly. "Oh, Ro, I decided on a name; I think I'm in love with Rachel. What do you think?"
Ororo gasps as she turns to her friend with a large smile on her face. "Rachel? That is a gorgeous name." Jean smiles, probably larger than Ro. "Rachel Grey. The name just rolls off the tongue."
"It sure does." Ororo doesn't say anything about the child's potential surname. "It's less complex to just give her my last name for now until we get a DNA test." Ororo looks at Jean playfully, annoyed.
"Jean, you shouldn't be using your powers while pregnant."
The redhead shrugs. "I can! Hank said to not overuse it, and I didn't." She innocently smiles at the dark-skinned woman. The ladies look up over the balcony as they hear a bunch of laughs and yelling. Out on the big field, there was Logan and David playing football. Marie, Gambit, Morph, and Jubilee joined them. It looked like it was Team David, consisting of Marie and Gambit, vs Team Logan, which had Jubilee and Morph.
Morph runs after David, transforming into Quick Silver, and tackles the boy to the ground. David frowns, pushing him off and struggling to keep the tears inside. "Hey, no powers!" David stomps his foot. Ororo leans against the balcony railing and shouts, "Morph! Cheat my baby again, and you'll face someone even worse than Sinister!"
Even though David wasn't her biological son, Ororo and the boy shared a deep bond the minute they laid eyes on each other. Within the first few months of him being there, she couldn't help herself and got adoption papers, making her David's legal guardian.
The group looks up at Ororo, the girls giggling at her threat as Logan smirks at his best friend. Morph scoffs, "What are you talking about, Storm? I'm playing football!"
Her blue eyes turn completely white as the sky suddenly turns grey and thundering clouds form. Morph puts his hand up as if he is being arrested, "Alright! You got it, no powers!" The sky returns to blue, with the sun shining brightly. As the game continued, Logan was distracted by watching his ex-lover and current lover talk. It wasn't hard to hear them due to his supersonic hearing. He thought Rachel was a pretty name; "Rachel Howlett." His thoughts were interrupted by cheering and yelling. "Logan! Get your head out of your ass! Catch him!"
He looks and sees David running right past him with a concentrated face. "Damn kid," Logan mutters to himself before chasing after him. He decided not to go all out and let David score a touchdown. Marie cheers as she jogs after them and spins, giggling David around. Gambit followed right behind her, lifting the boy up and down into the air. "We won, cher!"
To me, my X-Man!
Everyone glanced at each other as Scott burst through the back door and said, "Charles' Office Now!" Everyone began rushing to the war room. Ororo tells Jean that the Professor has called a meeting, leaving her on the balcony alone. As everyone piles into the war room, Ororo peeks around, not spotting Logan just yet. Charles clears his throat, opening his mouth to talk just as Logan walks in. Ororo couldn't help but slightly blush at the sight of bulging muscles fighting against his white tank top, the shirt's fabric sticking to his sweat. As he walks to stand behind her, he lightly brushes a hand against her shoulder.
"Pardon for the sudden meeting, but this just came in." He points to the television behind him, as it wheels out of the way, turning it on."
A few gasps can be heard along with a couple of growls from Logan as they all watch the breaking news, "The Trail of Magneto."
"Good afternoon, and welcome back to Fox 5 NY! We apologize for the sudden interruption. The United Nations has taken Magneto, the mutant, into NYPD custody. After months, some might even debate years, of discussions, the UN has come to the unanimous decision to try Magneto for his crimes."
The screen shows footage of Magneto walking out with his hands behind his back, tightly handcuffed with zip ties instead of metal cuffs, with dozens of police officers surrounding him.
"Mai bon Dieu!" Remy whispers in shock, along with his teammates. The news reporter continues, "As news broke out, thousands of protesters have surrounded the premises of the UN. Most are against the mutants, spewing their personal feelings while chanting with signs."
The channel cuts off as Charles turns off the TV. "As you can see, Magneto is undergoing a sudden trial. Now, it has been brought to my attention that The Brotherhood has plans to disrupt. I need some of you to go up there and ensure nothing happens if my sources are correct."
"Come on now, Chuck, you see all those people against us. Let Magneto and his team handle it." Logan says, sounding irritated.
Scott scoffs loudly and turns to Logan, "Perhaps you're slow Logan, but something bigger is happening. It's not Magneto on trial! That's a mutant, one of us! That could very well be any of us in those zip ties."
Logan bucks his chest as it fills with rage, stepping closer to Scott. "Who the fuck are you yelling at, bub?" The screech of his metal claws could be heard as the light shone against the blades. Morph and Remy quickly separate the two.
"You have a point, but Scott is right, Logan! That could be you up there on the trail, for simply being yourself this time. In good conscience, I can not allow any of those protesters or even the UN to do something harmful to one of us. Even worse, I can not allow Magneto and his crew to hurt innocents for voicing their opinions." Charles calmly explains, watching Logan retract his claws.
The Headmaster looks around the room at his team and says, "Scott, Marie, Ororo, Remy, and Morph will go." As the four teammates leave, he reminds them, "Please be careful. You're all dismissed." They nod and say their goodbyes, leaving the headmaster's office.
Logan catches up to Ororo and gently snatches her arm back. She yelps and looks at his handsome, scowling face. She didn't realize that he had her backed up against the wall. Their eyes lock as his large, manly hands rub along her sides. His face was nuzzled against her neck, sniffing her scent.
Ororo sensed something troubling him but did not press the issue. She massages his tense shoulders and gently kisses his ear, earning a hiss. "My love, I must go now."
He growls in her ear, sending shivers down her spine. His hold on her small waist gets tighter. "I don't like this." He whispers as he admires her facial features. Her smirk caused a rise in his jeans. "I'll be okay. I'm an omega." He pulls away from her, scoffing at her sudden cockiness, which she picked up from him.
"Just come back safe to me, you hear?" He kisses her hand before walking off. Ororo smiles as he watches him stuff his hands into his pockets, walking off to who knows where. "Storm! Let's go!" She jumps at the loud voice and starts jogging in its direction.
Jean walks down the stairs and enters the rec room, hearing a reporter talk about her team and Magento's trail. Her eyes landed on Logan's black hair; he was on the couch, sipping on a beer and watching the news. "Any updates?"
"Cooper's listing every nasty step. Magneto's taken from here to Asteroid M. Folks outside are pissed that he's even getting a trial." He takes another sip of his alcohol and scoffs, "Can't say I blame 'em."
"Logan, have you seen Scott?"
He uses the remote to point at the screen. "He's there, protecting and making sure Magneto doesn't pull anything." Jean rubs her belly and frowns. "Oh, he didn't tell me he was going."
Logan wanted to make a smart remark, but he did not make a comeback. He senses Jean going back upstairs and turns up the volume on the TV as he leans against the arm of the couch. He watches the screen intensely, feeling a growl come up in his throat. As much as he didn't like Magento, he could not stand politicians and their fake speeches about unity. David walks into the rec room holding up his toy truck, gasping at the image of Ororo as the camera pans over to her. "Logan! Mommy Ro is on TV!"
Logan chuckles as the child practically walks into the television. Logan swoops him into his arm, dragging him to sit on the couch. "Remember what she said about sitting too close to the screen?"
David nods slowly. "It's bad for my eyes!" His excited tone made Logan realize that the boy was just repeating the lecture and not totally aware of his surroundings, still focused on his adoptive mother on screen. He scowls as the camera focuses on Magneto and the politicians. "Where did Mommy Ro go?" His bottom lips are poking out as he turns to his father figure.
Logan rubs the top of the kid's head, his palm lightly squishing his afro. "Don't worry; they'll probably show her later." David accepts his answer and slides off the couch, playing with his truck on the wooden floor. Logan's eyelids began to get heavy as he stretched his legs out on the couch. He accepts the heaviness, shutting his eyes.
A loud boom and a shriek could be heard, causing Logan to ump out of his slumber. He rubs his eyes, his vision focusing on the little boy. "What's wrong?" He soon had an answer as he looked at the TV. Protestors had crashed the UN; the X-Men were fighting to protect the world leaders and Magneto. His eyes widen as he sees a man blast Ororo with some kind of purple laser. "Ro!"
A groan interrupts his shock, and he gets up quickly, unleashing his claws, prepared to fight any intruders. "Logan! The baby! The baby's coming!"
His eyes widen as he retracts his claws, a cold sweat traveling through his system.
Oh shit.
