This fanfic takes place at the end of S11. When Superintendent Hargraves is in town, it doesn't bode well. What is the purpose of his visit this time? This is something that I have thinking about. It is a different take on what could've happened after Jack saw Charles down on one knee at the school that day. I hope you like it as much as I enjoyed writing it!

Jack Thornton moves to Hamilton just before he begins his senior year in high school in this modern day story. His father, Tom, begins work for a shipping tycoon, William Thatcher. Jack meets Elizabeth before school starts. Their first meeting didn't go well. Will this drive them apart or draw them together?

Elizabeth follows Charles back to Hamilton after he proposes to her in the schoolhouse. Charles and Jack think she has accepted Charles' proposal of marriage. Is this all a misunderstanding? Can Jack and Elizabeth find their way back to each other after her indecisiveness? This story is set in the time frame of the show. However, the storyline differs from it.
