In an old, seedy tavern on the polluted planet Sludge. Sludge, an appropriately named place to be sure, it's a heavily polluted, mucky, pile of waste. It's completely undesirable, the ideal place for an outlaw to be found.
The outlaw in question, Al Negator, a spy and mercenary for the Toad Empire. The purple sleazasaur often helps the Toads in their schemes in conquering the Aniverse. However, he will only do these tasks if he is paid a high fee in simoleans, the official currency of the Aniverse Al is very greedy and often makes the price extremely high, but he always makes sure to deliver.
Looking up from his drink, Al was met with a familiar figure at his side. The Toad Air Marshall had traveled all the way to sludge for a very important reason.
"Ahh, Air Marshal my favorite customer! So, what can I do to you on this lovely day." The sleazy lizard said with a knowing tone.
"Cut the theatrics Al, I have some important work for you, work of the utmost importance at that!" the toad said with a slight feeling of pride.
"Is that so? Well, if that's the case how could I possibly refuse? Of course, it will cost you extra. You know my fees" Said Al with a grin.
"Of course it does! Never mind that, have you heard of Planet Saurion?" asked the Air Marshall. "Of course, the home of the Samurai Lizards. Why do you ask?" answered an intrigued Al.
"I need your help to spring someone out of that place." Said the Air Marshall.
"Are you insane! Do you have any idea what those honor-bound nutjobs would do to me?! Who could be so important to warrant doing something like that!" exclaims an outraged Al.
"I need a particular warrior for something big! Do you want the money or not!" the Air Marshall demanded, throwing the front payment in front of the sleazasaur.
"Something like this is worth more than just money, I want in." said Al Negator.
"What!?" exclaims the Air Marshall. "I want to know what this "something big" is, and I want a part in it." He said finally.
"Fine, you want to know! Since this morning Bucky O'Hare is no longer in the Aniverse." Said the toad.
"What! That's great, without that pesky hare my business can go unhindered. So that's the job, a full-blown invasion." Cried Al in excitement.
"Not quite, the hare isn't dead, just trapped in another universe, a universe that the mighty KOMPLEX wishes to conquer. Unfortunately, we lack the numbers for a full invasion force, that someone in Saurion is our solution." The Marshall explained to the merc.
"I see, so whom do you need me to break out?" asks Al with a conniving gleam.
"His name is Sly Leezard!" said the Marshall with a grin.
Planet Saurion, a mountainous forested world covered in canyons and valleys, home to the mighty Samurai Lizards. These reptilian warriors were known across the Aniverse as conquerors and mighty warriors, the only thing that kept the rest of the other races safe being their isolationist ways and their honor-bound mentality. To the lizards, their word was their most valued possession, no one would ever dare give their word in vain, none but one.
In a cold stone cell, lay a frail lizard with scales a cerulean blue, eyes the color of sunset, and a hateful scowl on his face. This was Sly Leezard, a deceitful terrorist who briefly allied himself with Toad Air Marshall. With the Air Marshall's help, he captures the Indignation's lead engineer Willy DuWitt. With his help, he planned to create a series of satellites to help him conquer a world by evaporating all its water. He was stopped by Bucky and the rest and when his plans and deceit were discovered by the other samurai, who quickly arrested him and his men, letting them rot in prison for the rest of his days.
So here he was, sitting inside the small dim prison that he now called home, seething with hatred and a desire for revenge. He waited for his meal to be delivered, the only interaction he had with the outside world. Left with nothing but his mind, thinking of all the ways he could enact his vengeance and reclaim his pride as a warrior once more.
"What's taking those fools so long, I'm starving here!" he yelled from his cell, hoping to be heard by someone. Yet no one came, this was strange. The guards always rotated like clockwork, never taking more than a few minutes to carry out their duties. Something was wrong, the only reason he could think for this discrepancy was if they were needed for something else, but what?
Suddenly the room started to shake, the sound of an explosion carried far into the building. The sound of battle followed soon after, he could hear the screams of trained samurai in the distance and the distinctive noise of a laser rifle, just what was going on out there!?
As the noise got closer, he saw the distinctive shape of a detonator. Rapidly he ducked down as the explosive went off. Taking out more guards and covering the room in thick smoke. From this smoke, a figure appeared, a purple sleazasaur made his way closer to the cell.
"Excuse me, good sir, may you be the one they call Sly Leezard." The sleazasaur asked as he moved ever closer. "Ay, that would be me, who's asking." The ronin lizard said.
"The names Al Negator, an old friend of yours asked me to come get you, for a price of course!" Al said with a grin, as he lined his rifle at the cell and fired at the lock.
"Now, it would do you good to find a weapon and get your man, we don't have much time before the cavalry arrives!' he said with urgency. Sly paid him no attention as he walked over to a fallen guard's form, taking his weapon before testing its edge against the unconscious guard's form.
Turning back to Al he said, " Now, what the fun in a quick escape!" as he grinned a wicked smile at his companion.
Making their way deeper into the prison, the criminal reptiles made quick work of anyone on their way. Al used his superior weapons to mow down the warriors in his wake, while Sly quickly slashed at them, fueled by his sheer anger to overcome his lacking frame. Soon, a trial of destruction lay at their feet as they calmly made their way to every cell on the compound.
After all his men were free, Sly turned to Al with a conniving expression before saying, "Well my new friend, where to now?" Al looked at him before responding, "Over by the cliffs, I got my ship ready and running, we're gonna have to hoof it after our little spree here, but we can make it."
Nodding, he quickly ordered his men to charge, a dozen warriors quickly making their way toward freedom, not stopping for anyone in front of them, they swiftly made it to the cliffside, nearing ever closer to the ship.
Suddenly, an arrow was fired near them, looking behind them they saw their captors giving chase. Leading them was a muscular lizard with an ornate kabuto on his head, this was the Supreme Samurai Lizard Commander, leader of the samurai lizards, and ruler of Saurion.
"Quick! Get to the ship?" Sly called out to his men, picking up the pace toward the ship. Dodging the multitude of arrows that fell upon him and his men, they eventually made it to the ship's door. Quickly snatching Al's gun, Sly began to open fire on his former leader with reckless abandon, laughing like the madman he was.
Once they made it off the planet, Sly went to the control room to chat with his new acquaintance. "So, who exactly is this mutual friend you spoke of'; Ill like to express my gratitude." The sly lizard said with a smirk on his lips.
"You'll find out soon enough, this aint over yet!" was all Al said as he chuckled while driving the ship to a mysterious location.
A while later, the escaped samurai lizard lay in awe at what was in front of them, all but one, Sly held a sour look on his face. "Of course it was him, who else could it have been!" He thought as he stared ahead, looking at the massive toad armada before him.
As the ship made its way to the command ship, he could only wonder what scheme the old toad had in mind this time, the memory of their previous arrangement still fresh on his mind. Nevertheless, he had to admit that the toad had been helpful, so he would hear him out. For now.
As they boarded the Kruiser, he and the others were greeted by a platoon of stormtoads, the Air Marshall at their command. Making his way toward them, the old toad extended a webbed hand at the frilled lizard with a smug smile on his face.
"Sly Leezard, good to see you again old chum. Come, come, you and I have much to discuss." Said the Air Marshall.
"You can cut the theatrics, you have freed me and my men, what is it that you want?" the ex-samurai told the Marshall, eager to get things over with.
"Ungrateful much! Fine! Last time we met, you told me there was no greater honor to your people than the conquest of a world. Well, I just so happen to be short on manpower, I need your help with a mission. One that I know you won't refuse!" said the Air Marshall, looking the lizard right in the eye.
Sly began laughing, "So, you want me to help you conquer Canopus III. It's about time, those ducks won't know what hit them!" he muttered on.
"NO! Something better! How would you like to be the first of your kind to conquer a world in a completely different universe!" clarified the Marshal with gusto.
"What are you talking about?" Sly demanded to know.
"Recently the mighty KOMPLEX discovered a fragment from another universe drifting throw space, with it we have managed to build a gateway to this other world, unfortunately, we lost some men when that accursed hare tested it for use. KOMPLEX worries that the hare will complicate things there, so he wants to launch a full-blown attack to establish a base on that universe before he has the chance to." Clarified the Air Marshal in a more serious tone.
"Wait, so Bucky O'Hare is no longer in this universe, then why don't we just conquer this one instead?" Sly asks bewildered.
"He says that his sensors detect a great amount of military presence in that universe, if they are allowed time to prepare for us, we will be crushed! So, we must attack first, with full force. Unfortunately, that does leave us with many forces on this side, not to mention that Genus could send reinforcements to them if they find out what we are up to. Besides, would you really be satisfied with walking over a bunch of weak mammals, or would you rather feel the rush of conquering the unknown!" the Marshall said to the ronin in front of him, a wicked smile creeping up his worthy face.
"You cold-blooded fiend, I'm in!" he said with glee, laughing at the glorious battle to come.
An unholy alliance had been born in this universe, and another would pay the price for it.
