JUST AN FYI FOR EVERYONE, I CHANGED THE CATEGORIES FOR THE STORY SO IT'S A GENERAL DC SUPERHERO CROSSOVER WITH BEN-10 INSTEAD OF JUST SUPERGIRL. IT'S NOT GOING TO CHANGE ANYTHING OF WHAT WILL HAPPEN BUT GIVEN HOW I'M IMPLEMENTING A LOT OF OTHER PLOTS AND CHARACTERS FROM OTHER DC MEDIA AND REALLY ONLY USING PARTS OF SUPERGIRL, IT MADE SENSE TO CHANGE IT. DON'T KNOW WHY IT DIDN'T OCCUR TO ME BEFORE BUT FOR THOSE THAT ARE WONDERING ABOUT THE CHANGE, HERE YOU GO.

Here is Chapter 4 of Omniverse Earth-38. Will's armored alter-ego has made his appearance in National City. While no one knows who he is, The Forever Knights have some clues and arrive in National City that put Will in a situation which nearly exposes his secret. They'll continue to be constant pains in the future. Then he teams up with Superman and the Thanagarian cop Hawkwoman when a band of alien bounty hunters arrive on earth to capture Superman. Plus, they meet the Main Man who is odd, weird, and all similar words in the dictionary. Enjoy!

Omniverse Earth-38: A prom disaster and the Main Man causes chaos.

Last time on Omniverse Earth-38

"In a shocking turn of events tonight, it would appear that National City has its own vigilante whose efforts tonight saved the lives of the hostages that Clifford Devoe was holding at the Pruitt Building. When the National City Police launched a daring raid, this mystery vigilante arrived and while many were quick to assume he was working with Devoe it would appear that he was there to save the hostages and attacked the police to prevent them from accidently shooting the hostages and falling into the trap that was set for them. Afterward, he captured and incapacitated Sportsmaster and Tigress, two wanted mercenaries who were working for Devoe and we are now getting reports that this same vigilante stopped an armored truck robbery and captured Robert DuBois also known as Bloodsport. While the identity of this vigilante is still unknown, many have been quick to call him a hero while many are just calling him a criminal. There's Captain Barnes now. Captain Barnes! Captain Barnes! Any comment on the mystery masked hero who appeared tonight?" The reporter asked National City Police Captain Nathaniel Barnes.

"Let's get one thing straight. This man, whoever he is, is not a hero but a vigilante and a criminal and he interfered and assaulted several NCPD officers tonight which is why we've just issued a warrant for his arrest." Captain Barnes stated.

"Many are saying that this man did what the police could not and stopped the NCPD from accidently killing the hostages tonight. They're saying he's a hero." The reporter said.

"This man is nothing more than a criminal and I'll say this as well. Clifford Devoe will be captured by those who are upholding the law and not some vigilante who has taken the law into his own hands. No further comment." Captain Barnes left after that. Another stilled image of the mystery vigilante was put on screen which gave the audience a better look at his appearance including the skull mask and hood on his head and the weird belt buckle which was sort of a symbol.

A click was heard as the TV was paused on the still image. The news was being recording and watching said news was Enoch and some of his Forever Knights in one of their secondary facilities. It wasn't as fancy and large as the manor they use to have but it could house over a hundred men and had plenty of weapons and allowed them to communicate with the others. Enoch looked at the screen and at the masked vigilante. If the gold mask weren't covering his face than his men would have seen him smirk.

"Gather what men we can and the best weapons we have. I want our analysts going over all the footage from the attack and scouring all the National City databases and residents against the data we have on the man who has hampered our activities for too long without consequence and I want possible matches in six hours." Enoch ordered. "Time to go hunting."

May 2008: DEO Desert Base

Will was in one of the spare rooms to get some training in. His button up was with his backpack in the corner and he had tape wrapped around his hands as he threw out punches and kicks against a punching bag. Wearing shorts and a tank top that was starting to get caked in sweat, he was focused and in the zone. Left straight, right straight, left gut shot and then a right cross before throwing up a knee. He hit with a few combinations and then a spinning elbow before doing a jumping back kick. Then a push kick, a side kick, a jumping side kick, a crescent kick, a hook kick and finished it with a classic roundhouse. Those kicks really came in handy against Sportsmaster, Tigress, and Bloodsport. He took a few deep breaths and walked away from the punching bag before he charged and did a drop kick. He hit the bag but per the course he fell to the ground on his back…and he hit hard.

"Oh…shit…" He muttered, feeling the wind knocked out of him. "Note to self. Don't do that without the armor."

"You, ok?" He heard as Max walked in with a few other DEO agents who walked in to do some training.

"Yeah…just give me a minute." Will took a deep breath and got back to his feet. "Just uh…keeping sharp."

"On the floor?" Max asked, chuckling a bit. "All right, enough with the bag. Come on. We've still got some work to do with your disarming and trapping."

Max and the others went through their training sessions to keep their hand-to-hand skills sharp and to help Will in his training. He had only been training with them for less than a year while they had years if not decades of military combat training. He still had a lot to learn but he was exceptional in the basics like boxing, MMA, and his Brazilian Jiu-jitsu. His Krav Maga, Escrima, and Muay Thai needed some work though. And now they were working on implementing some new teachings with the Marine Corp CQC system or close quarters combat system. Many of the DEO agents were former marines before they were recruited. Their past experience helped make them expert field agents. Donavan was one of them and so they began teaching Will their CQC. The Marine Corp Martial Arts Program is a combat system developed by the US Marine Corp to combine existing and new hand-to-hand combat techniques as a part of their training. It trained them in unarmed, edged weapons, weapons of opportunity, and gun techniques along with training their mental toughness as well.

Add it to the list of how the DEO agents threw Will around like a ragdoll and made him sore. The discipline drew from various martial arts for various situations which was what the DEO would find themselves in so it fit. It was tough but what Will would need going forward. If he combined this training with his Proto-tech armor then he'd be even more dangerous than he already is.

After two hours of grueling training, Will was a sweaty mess laid out on the practice mat. The other agents gathered their stuff and pat Will on the head as they walked out to get cleaned up. "You, ok?"

Will moved his head a bit to see Director Henshaw looking down at him. "Just fine, sir. Your men did a good job in making sure I'm sore. Glad they avoided my face. It'd be hard to explain a black eye to Courtney."

"That is very true." Max walked over with his bag as he and Director Henshaw looked at Will. "You need help?"

"Nah…I'm just gonna lay here for a bit." Will told him. "Can I help you, Director?"

"I just wanted drop by and see how your training was doing. Along with telling you that I'm glad I didn't wake up to news reports of another vigilante sighting since Devoe escaped us a week ago." Henshaw told him.

"Like I told my dad. Being a hero sounds fun but I've got enough to deal with. I don't plan on making that a regular thing unless there's an alien invasion, a mass prison break, someone attacks my friends, or Devoe shows his face." He listed off, managing to lift his upper body up enough so that he was sitting on the ground. "Any luck in tracking him down?"

"We've been getting scattered reports of him showing up all the way from Los Angeles to Manhattan. He's gone to ground." Henshaw told him.

"We need to find him before he decides to set up for round two. We managed to stop a bomb, the police accidently shooting hostages and the city losing millions but just barely. I hate to think what he'd like to set up for an encore." Will stated as Max helped him back to his feet. "And the sooner we find him the less likely chance he figures out how to expose me and the DEO."

"Agreed and our analysts and the algorithms Grey Matter designed are running 24/7 but Devoe is proving to be just as smart as your Galvan form. We'll find him, don't worry yourself Mr. Detmer." Henshaw assured him. "If I were you, I'd focus more on getting that car finally out of my garage and focusing on the dance you have Friday."

Henshaw left with a small smirk on his face which Will and Max noticed. "I don't think I've ever seen him smile like that before. To be honest, I don't think I've ever seen him smile."

"Guess he just likes me." Will joked as he limped over to the wall to get his bag and felt like muscles in his legs had swollen to the point where he couldn't bend his knees. When he got to the wall, he had to steady himself against it to bend down at the waist and grab his bag, towel, and water bottle.

"You ok?" Max wondered, seeing how much difficulty his son was having with just bending down and picking up his stuff.

"Other than the fact that every single muscle in my body is screaming in terror, I'm good." Will assured him as he opened his water bottle and guzzled it down as fast as he could. "This new training sucks."

Max grimaced as he knew what Will was feeling. "Trust me, you get use to it. And this training is gonna help you in the future. Add this with your armor and you'll be a force to be reckoned with."

"Whatever you say, dad." Will slowly limped out of the training room to head to the showers to get cleaned up. Granted for the first ten minutes of his shower he just sat under the water in his clothes but he did eventually manage to get cleaned up. After a long hot shower and equally long time getting dressed because of the muscle pain he was feeling, he was finally cleaned up and limped himself to the garage.

Max and some of the workers in the DEO were in the garage finishing up the work on the 1969 Chevrolet Camaro SS that Will had bought. Many of them knew a thing or two about cars and would come to help when they had some free time or needed a break. What would have taken a total of three months of repairs and work was trimmed down to only one month so looks like Will won that bet with Beth. Max finished using an electric wrench to screw in a lug nut in last tire he put on the car. After making sure everything was fine, he stepped back to look over the car as the other agents stepped back after cleaning and waxing the exterior and interior.

The 1969 Chevrolet Camaro SS that was once a rusted car frame and shambled engine was fully refurbished, cleaned, and sporting a new supercharger engine. New tires, a completely cleaned and new frame, new windows with a new luxury leather interior and all new steering wheel, peddles, and sticks and a beast of a new engine modified by Grey Matter so it was a now a 10,000 horsepower 11,000 RPM machine v12 supercharger. The only thing it needed was a paintjob since it was still in its default steel color but that would be left for Will.

"She is a thing of beauty." An agent commented.

"Glad you think so." They heard as Will slowly limped into the garage. "If any of you want the same treatment to any car you guys have, just let me know. Who knows? Maybe I'll start my own alien garage."

"If it gets me a car like this then I'm ok with that." Another agent stated.

"She's a beauty and she's ready. Want to take her for a drive?" Max held up the keys and Will nodded.

"Oh, yeah." He slowly limped over to his and by slowly, it was like glacial slow. He must have been really hurting after that training.

"Do you need some help?" An agent asked him.

"No, I got it." Will assured him, slowly limping over bit by bit until he stopped about halfway there. He bent over a bit and grimaced in pain as his legs and feet felt like hell which everyone else could see. "On second thought…I'm just gonna sit down and rest for a bit. Why don't you guys take it for a quick spin in the desert?"

"You're serious?" An agent asked him as Will limped over to a chair.

"I can barely walk five feet. I wouldn't be able to drive my car out of the garage in this shape. And I can see that some of you want to take it for a drive so might as well do it while I'm incapacitated." He told them, managing to make it over to a chair and sat down. He let out a sigh of relief and exhaustion as he rubbed his throbbing legs. "Go ahead. I'm just gonna…sit here for a while."

Everyone just stood there for a bit, not sure what they should do when Max tossed the keys up and caught them. "I think he's serious."

"Me sitting in this chair unable to move when my car is right there, finished and done should show I'm serious." Will pointed out. "Go drive my car and see how the modifications Grey Matter did to the engine came out. I'm gonna sit here and wait for the feeling to come back into my legs."

"Fine by me." Max walked over and got in the driver's seat.

"Shotgun!" An agent called to the dismay of the others who were stuck in the back. The front passenger seat was pulled forward so the others could get in the back and once they were in the seat was put back into position. Max turned the keys in the ignition with no sputtering at all and all anyone could hear was the clean roar of the engine which sounded like heaven. Max rested his hands on the steering wheel, looking at the dashboard, speedometers, and touched the stick shift and it felt good. He gave Will a smile as he shifted the car into drive and slowly began to drive the car out of the garage of the DEO and out into the surrounding desert. Will just sat there in his chair and drank plenty of water as he just rested and let his legs recover from his training. He would be sore tomorrow which would suck.

About half an hour later, Director Henshaw walked through the base and went to the garage to see if Will listened to him and got his car out. What he wasn't expecting him to see was Will sitting there in a chair and doing some homework while his car was gone. "Hey, Director. Did you need something?"

"What happened to your car?" Henshaw asked.

"Oh. My dad and some of the others took it on a test drive. I would have gone but I'm—" Will grunted in pain and grabbed his thigh to try and ease his muscles screaming in terror. "—I'm not feeling my best."

"So, they're taking the car for a joy ride?" Henshaw asked.

"Yup." He replied.

With Max and the others…

"WOOO!" Max cheered at the tops of his lungs as he was racing the Camaro through the desert as fast as it could go and with the modifications Grey Matter made, it easily hit a hundred miles per hour in a few seconds. He shifted gears and drifted around a large sand mound which was a lot of fun and judging by the expressions on his face and the other agents, they were having a blast. "I am proud of my son for picking such a great car!"

"Come on, Max. Time to switch." An agent told him as they continued their drive through the desert plains.

Back with Will and Director Henshaw at the DEO base…

"It did get the car out of your garage." Will pointed out. "Any alien escapees we need to take down today?"

"No, not today." Henshaw told him. "Since you're free, how about we get some training with your new Kryptonian form. If he's your new heavy hitter, we'll feel more comfortable if you really know how to use him properly. Superman spent years training his powers whereas you've only been at it for a few days at a time."

"I'm not really in the best shape for training and I just got done with one already." Will pointed out.

"Changing into your Kryptonian form might help you recover from the pain in direct sunlight?" Henshaw suggested and it did make some sense.

"All right." Will put his books down and grimaced in pain as he slowly got out of his chair. "What do you need?"

"Why don't you just stay here. I'll send a technician with some sensor nodes over." Henshaw told him.

"Thank you." Will replied, sitting back down in his chair to rest his aches.

A bio-medical technician came over with a tablet and some sensor nodes for the test they would run but she first helped him to his feet and outside the bunker. It was the late afternoon so the sun was starting to set but they had about two hours of good sunlight left. Some other agents quickly came outside to set up some targets and cameras which would feed everything back to the main computer where Henshaw and the analysts would watch and record everything into a special file. When Will was recruited into the DEO as a special asset and future agent in training, he put all the information about him and the Omnitrix in a special encrypted file that would destroy itself if they were hacked and would be locked under code clearance should anyone in the government start to ask questions. Despite everything and all the red flags the Omnitrix raised, Henshaw knew Will was a good kid with a good head on his shoulders. He saw as much when the two melded minds and if the military or god forbid ARGUS should find out about him then he wouldn't want to think of what would happen.

After about thirty minutes of getting preparations, their tests were ready so Will activated the Omnitrix and turned the dial until he found the silhouette of Ultraman. One dial push and flash of green light later he had turned into a Kryptonian and like Director Henshaw suggested, the yellow sunlight charged his body and he began to feel better.

"Oh…that's feels good." Will said to himself as he stretched his arms out and closed his eyes. The sun's rays were charging his Kryptonian cells so the aches and pains he felt before were quickly fading away. It literally felt like he had slept for a week and felt refreshed and ready to go. "Is this what Superman feels like every day?"

The Omnitrix symbol on his belt blinked, indicating he was getting a call on the communicator. "Looks like I was right. How do you feel?" Henshaw asked.

"Much better." Will replied as the bio-medical technician placed the sensor nodes on his face, hands, and suit. All of Ultraman's biometric data was being fed from the sensors to the DEO system which Henshaw was able to oversee.

"All right, your data is coming in clear. Let's test your heat vision, again. You said that your eyes still hurt after what happened with the Mayan God of Death." Henshaw told him.

"Yeah. The whole vision powers are taking some getting used to." Will replied as he looked at the various sheets of metal and other materials set up around him.

He narrowed his eyes and concentrated but ocular powers were completely foreign to him. Sure, he was able to use his heat vision against that Mayan God-thing but it was more like a natural/life or death reflex kind of thing. He didn't even figure out the whole x-ray vision power yet. At the moment, the powers he was confident in were his super strength, super speed, hearing, invulnerability and flying. Granted, the invulnerability didn't really need him to do anything. Freeze breath was also absent to him at the moment so Henshaw was right in getting some practice in. To the DEO agents and analysts, it just looked like Ultraman was giving the metal boards a very stern and disapproving look and not much else.

"Son of a bitch this is hard." He muttered to himself.

"Try to remember what you were thinking when you used it before." Henshaw told him.

"Right. Getting pummeled and nearly beaten to death by an ancient Mayan god." He commented, closing his eyes, and taking a deep breath to calm down and block everything out.

Granted with his super hearing it was kind of hard but he just focused on a simple sound and that was the whooshing of the wind brushing past his skin or blowing around nearby sand. All he thought about in his head was what he felt when he was fighting against the Mayan God of Death. Adrenaline, confidence, anger, pain…and fear. Fear of dying…fear of what would have happened if the Forever Knights managed to get the sword…fear of what would happen to the DEO team…and anger. He opened his eyes again and they were glowing a bright red.

"RAHH!"

One loud ferocious shout as he unleashed a beam of heat vision from his eyes at the largest and thickest slab of metal the DEO team had set up. His heat vision managed to burn through it in a manner of seconds, leaving a giant gaping molten hole before burning through some of the surrounding sand piles and turning them into molten glass. Will managed to stop his heat vision after a few more seconds to see the giant hole he made with his eyes and there was still some burning and irritation but not like before.

"That large plate was made up of a tungsten carbine composition metal with a melting point of 4,000 kelvin and you managed to melt through it in about five seconds." Henshaw told him both impressed and worried. "How do you feel?"

"Not as bad as I did before." He replied as his eyes stopped glowing and went back to normal. Henshaw and his analysts looked at the data they got from the sensor nodes was very telling. Along with the very information data they were getting on Kryptonian biology, they were able to see how using the heat vision affected Kryptonian physiology and watched as the concentrated heat accumulated in the eyes before being released and the solar energy reading in his cells actually lessened which match with what they suspected about Superman. But his levels began going back up as his body kept absorbing yellow sun radiation.

"Ok, now try focusing your heat vision so you narrow the beams and try to adjust the intensity." Henshaw told him.

"Right." Will concentrated and his eyes began glowing red again before he fired the same burst at another metal plate and melted through it in a second. He then looked around and his heat vision followed his line of sight and scorched all the plates and targets. "Oops."

Henshaw and the others looked at the destroyed targets from Ultraman's heat vision and they were all melted into liquid metal. "Well, at least you didn't hurt anyone and can stop it. That's good enough for now I suppose." Henshaw pointed out as Will saw a few of the targets were on fire.

"Let me try something else." He motioned everyone to get out of the way before he took a deep breath and attempted to use his freeze breath. He blew out a concentrated gust of wind from his lungs with the same speed and force of a hurricane gale. While his super breath was able to extinguish the fires quickly it also blew around a massive amount off sand. It was like getting caught in the middle of a sudden sandstorm and the DEO agents and technicians were the unfortunate bystanders to Will's attempt a freeze breath and now had sand in all the wrong places. And judging by the looks on their faces, they weren't exactly happy. "Guess the freeze breath is still a work in progress. Sorry."

They just dusted themselves off, spit out any sand in their mouths and tried to get any kind of sand out of their clothing as best they could. "You still need more work with your heat vision and other abilities. Until you get more control and familiarity with them, I'd advise using Ultraman only in a life or death situation." Henshaw told him.

"That's a drag." Will remarked but seeing as how he could have accidently heat visioned some agents or sent them flying with super breath, Director Henshaw made a valid point. "But you're right. And seeing as how I've got about a few minutes left before I time out, let's get some more flying in."

"All right, let's see if your flying skills are getting better." Henshaw told him, nodding to an analyst who pressed some switches that opened up the DEO's hangar. Several DEO VTOLs and attack choppers hovered out before they flew out into the surrounding desert at top speed. "See if you can catch up."

"Sounds like fun." Will took a knee and put his fist on the ground before he closed his eyes and concentrated. Nothing seemed to happen but then the analysts and agents began to see the sand around his body slowly float up and curl around him like the gravity was being affected. He then took off like a bullet and flew straight up into the air, creating a shockwave that blew pass everyone and knocked some of their equipment over along with a cloud of sand and making a large crack in the ground.

They saw Ultraman fly straight up into the air with a jet stream trailing behind him before he swerved around and began to fly to the ground. If they could have seen him then they would have seen the smile he had as he felt the wind on his face and heard the flutter of his cape. He swerved around and flew straight up into the air, feeling the yellow sun's solar rays fill him with energy as he extended his arms out and began to approach the exosphere where he got a first class seat to the stars, moon, sun, and vastness of space.

"Enjoying yourself?" Henshaw asked as Will just looked in awe at space.

"There are people who train their entire lives to get even a glimpse of this. It's incredible." He replied as he turned to face the sun. He let the sun's ray fill him with energy before looking down at earth and flying back down at Mach 7.

Max and the others were still driving around in Will's Camaro with one of the agents now in the driver's seat. They were having fun driving around the desert when they saw a speeding blur fly by and then a sonic boom that kicked up some sand.

"What the hell was that?" An agent asked.

"Was that Superman?" Another agent asked when they saw the DEO VTOLs and attack choppers fly by soon after.

"No, that was Will." Max told them.

Will flew around the desert landscape with a smile on his face and quickly adopting the trademark Superman style of the one arm extended out and another folded at his side. Granted, it felt weird but probably looked cool. He purposely slowed down to about 300 mph to fly alongside the DEO pilots. While the VTOLs and attack choppers could go faster, it was better to play it safe for training.

One of the chopper pilots locked on to Will's heat signature and pressed the trigger, firing a pair of AGM-114 Hellfire missiles. Will heard the missiles closing in so he went supersonic, creating a small sonic boom as he flew ahead of the missiles that were locked on his heat signature. He flew up, down, left, right, and all the which ways to try and lose them but they were locked on and closing in so he dove straight down and they followed. Once he was about ten feet from crashing down, he banked up and flew along the sand. His sudden turn kicked up some sand and he was fine but the missiles weren't able to adjust as quickly and they crashed into the ground.

The VTOLs and attack choppers fired their miniguns and chains guns at him and he swerved around in the air to avoid them not because they hurt because they didn't. He did it for training to work on his evasiveness and mobility in the air. Flying at the beginning was hard but now it was like walking to him and he was excellent at it, showing incredible precision and control of his movement as he evaded swerved, and dodged the hail of bullets. A few bullets managed to hit him every now and then but they just ricocheted off.

"Ok. Let's keep this going." Will told them, flying ahead as they all locked on.

"Fire!" Henshaw ordered and every single DEO VTOL and attack chopper fired Hydra 70 rockets at Ultraman. It was like a scene out of an alien invasion movie where the world's air forces attack an alien ship with everything they have. In total there were probably about just about a hundred rockets that were on his tail. With the army of rockets closing in Will got creative with his flying and implemented sharp turns, spins, barrel rolls, dives, and liftoffs that it looks like a fancy flight show. Luckily, his creative flying all over the place caused many of the rockets to crash into one another and explode with those explosions making other rockets explode in a huge fireball with several smaller ones scattered around.

Henshaw and the analysts at the DEO were watching everything with their sensor data giving them biometric data on how this flying was affecting Ultraman. So far, their tests showed great data on Kryptonian genetics and abilities. They've only been able to guess and estimate with the limited data they had from Fort Rozz and Kara's escape pod that arrived on earth but with Will, they now had more comprehensive data that allowed them to better understand him and by proxy, Superman as well. Will was showing great familiarity and skill with his flying as he was easily outpacing rockets that would have hit their target by now but he was still faster and outflying them.

12 rockets were all that remained from the initial 100 and they were lucky enough to not crash or get caught up in an explosion. Will looked back and saw there were 12 rockets left following him so he shot straight up into the sky. They followed behind him as he kept flying and turned around to face them before blasting them all with his heat vision. It was the same super intense blast as before and easily vaporized the rockets but he was getting better control with it and his eyes didn't burn.

"Looks like the heat vision is starting to get easier and easier! WOO!" Will shouted as he kept flying up and soaked up the sun's rays.

"Well done, Mr. Detmer." Henshaw told him when Will heard the Omnitrix beep and saw it was flashing red.

"That's not good." One red flash later and Ultraman was replaced with regular old Will Detmer which wouldn't be an issue except for the fact that he was now about 20,000 ft off the ground. "AAAHHHHH!"

Will began to fall back to the ground and while it was initially kind of exhilarating it turned into pants wetting terrifying rather quickly as his body began to free fall to the ground and to make it worse, he was unfortunately flipping so he got queasy real fast.

"Oh my god…" one of the analysts back at the DEO said out loud as everyone was equally freaked out and shocked. Even Director Henshaw was worried.

"Pilots, plot course to intercept!" Henshaw ordered and many of the VTOLs did, gaining altitude. Problem was how they were going to help Will.

As Will continued to flip during his freefall to the ground he began to feel sick and lightheaded which is when his armor automatically activated from his belt buckle and formed around him. Once the helmet was sealed it gave him filtered oxygen and kept him from passing out and the glider wings sprouted out from underneath his arms which stabilized him and stopped his flipping. He was now essentially skydiving with his armor monitoring his vitals and ensuring his survival.

"Holy shit that was terrifying…" He muttered to himself as he continued his controlled skydive to the ground. "I'm ok, everyone. I'm all right."

All of the DEO breathed a sigh of relief at hearing Will tell them he was ok and his armor even connected to the DEO's computers to give them his helmet camera to show them he was skydiving at a more controlled pace. Will even looked around to show them he was in his armor and using his glider wings like a wingsuit.

"You gave us quite a scare, Mr. Detmer." Henshaw told him.

"I scared myself more, Director." Will admitted. "I got caught up training. Luckily, my armor's failsafe kicked in. I'm all right and if I ever do anything stupid like this again, please kick my ass."

"Noted." One pilot told him as all the DEO aerial vehicles rejoined in formation and flew back to base. Will began to head in that direction as well when a notification came across his HUD with a modification to his glider wings.

"Modification? Activate." Will commanded and his suit's nanites began reconfiguring his glider wings for their new modification. The wings underneath his arms narrowed and extended outward from his body rather than stay underneath his arms to his side. More nanites combined and extended out to form a pair of flight wings with a 20-ft wingspan and they resembled bird wings like from an eagle or falcon. More nanites formed a small propulsion system on his back or in layman's terms a jetpack which powered up along with his jet boots. He looked at his new wings and his HUD showed him the new jetpack on his back and began giving him a brief info dump on what these wings could do. They were retractable much like everything in his suit so when they weren't needed then he was fine and they were also highly articulated so he would have great maneuverability and control along with his propulsion system which could get him to just about supersonic if he wanted. And they were colored black and silver so they matched and were rather cool looking. He moved his arms a bit and saw he could control the wings physically or even just think it if he needed to. (1) "Oh, flight wings? This is gonna be good."

His jetpack and jet boots powered up and he flew through the air just like before when he was Ultraman except now, he could do it with his armor. He even flew past some of the DEO VTOLs and attack choppers on his way to the base. "Seriously? The kid nearly died and he's back to having fun. Unbelievable." One of the pilots commented and the others chuckled as they kept heading to the base.

Max and the others arrived back at the base in Will's car when heard an engine roar and saw Will flying at them in his armor but were greeted to the sight of new flight wings. Will slowed a bit as he neared the ground and landed on his feet, stumbling a bit from the sudden change in velocity but staying upright as the wings and jetpack retracted back into his armor before it all retracted back into his belt buckle. "Whew. That was fun."

"You ok, Will?" Max wondered.

"Other than that brief minute where I was freefalling uncontrollably, nearly passed out and genuinely thought I was going to die…I'm fine." Will assured him. "Now, if you'll excuse me…I need to go to the bathroom."

He walked into the base just as the aerial vehicles returned and entered the hangar. Will walked down the hall to the bathroom where he had a very urgent and necessary bathroom break along with changing his underwear. When he got out, he saw Director Henshaw waiting for him. "You ok?"

"Fine. Just uh…needed a change of clothes." Will told him and Henshaw managed a small smirk at his unfortunate accident.

"You know what you did today was very reckless. You could have been killed." Henshaw warned him before looking around and seeing they were alone with no one eavesdropping. "I know how you feel. The exhilaration you get when you transform is addicting but getting too enthralled in a single alien form like you just did today is dangerous. You were lucky to be wearing your armor otherwise we might not be having this conversation."

"I know. I'm usually smarter than this but…when I was Ultraman, I felt…powerful. I can't really explain it but it's…it's like nothing I've ever felt before and it felt great." Will admitted. "Honestly, listening to what I just said it felt like a drug."

"Which is why we—why you need to be careful, Mr. Detmer." Henshaw told him with both governmental caution and a more genuine concern. "The Omnitrix on your wrist is a powerful weapon and power so easily corrupts. You spent about ten minutes as a Kryptonian and you felt powerful. That kind of power is also incredible destructive in the wrong hands or if its abused. You remember when you first started training here and you were against the Sundown Protocol."

"The Kryptonite and weapons you have to stop a rogue Kryptonian or Superman should he go evil? Yeah I remember." He replied.

"Well, now you know why it's necessary. If someone else were to have powers like that and used them for the wrong reasons then a lot of people could get hurt." Henshaw said and Will nodded.

"I'll definitely remember this training session, Director." He replied.

"As an important reminder of why you're here at the DEO training with us. All right, that's enough for the day. Get home and get some rest." Henshaw pat him on the shoulder and walked back to the command center.

"Yes, sir."

Friday was here which was great for a lot of people. It signified the start of the weekend which got a lot of people excited for plans with friends or family and with it being May, the weather was turning warm. There was some buzz for a certain group of students and their parents as tonight was the National City High Junior Prom which thanks to certain alumni and parents was going to be held at the Markson Hotel. Normally, most Junior Proms were held at the school's gym but a lot of the parents of National City High students were connected and had pull with the school board. Plus, some work and donations from the Junior Prom Committee managed to get the location. If you think the Junior Prom is extravagant you should see the Senior Prom in a few weeks. It's like the Royal Ball in comparison.

Since it was the day of the Junior Prom, the Junior class was given a half day to get ready which was welcome news. Around 1pm, the Junior class were leaving the school and heading home. Will walked out of the school and over to the parking lot where he saw Vic and Karen acting all flirty together. Before he could walk over, Ed came over on his skateboard along with Beth, Yolanda, and Courtney.

"Aw, aren't they cute?" Beth asked.

"I think they look good together." Yolanda pointed out.

"Eh, I give it a week." Ed commented so Courtney smacked him upside the head. "Ow."

"You had that coming." Will remarked. "So, is the plan still the same? Everyone meets up at Yolanda's house at 6 for photos and then the limo?"

"Sounds right. Tonight, is going to be amazing." Yolanda said when she looked over at her boyfriend, Henry King Jr. He was on the National City High football team as the quarterback. He was good but unlike Vic who was funny, kind, and charismatic, Henry was pretty much the embodiment of the high school jock with zero regard for others outside of his social circle. In other words, an asshole. How he and Yolanda are together is a mystery. "I'll see you guys later."

"How she and Henry got together is still shocking to me. I don't get it." Will stated.

"Well, some things aren't meant to be understood, Will." Beth pointed out.

"Fair enough. Anyway, any of you need a ride home?" Will wondered and Beth, Courtney, and Ed nodded. The four walked through the school parking lot over to Will's car that had a small number of students standing around it in awe. In said parking spot was Will's 1969 Chevrolet Camarro SS with a supercharger engine and its clean and polished dark blue paint and black racing stripe down the middle. Despite the car's previous home in a junkyard and the horrendous state it was in, it now looked factory fresh. No one could tell that it was once a rusted shell of its former self in a used car lot as it looked remarkable. So much so that when Will first drove to school with it, it made a lot of the students and teachers pause. (2)

Will walked over and unlocked the car, putting his backpack in the trunk before pulling the front seat up so Beth and Courtney could get in the back. "I still can't believe that you actually managed to get this car ready in a month and I actually had to pay you ten bucks." Beth pointed out as she slunk into the back seat with Courtney. "You cheated."

"I didn't cheat. We just didn't iron out the terms of the bet. All you said was that I couldn't get the car ready in less than two months while I bet I could. We never said if I could have help and what kind." Will reminded her. "My dad just so happens to know a lot of people who are good with cars."

"Oh, Will outsmarted Beth. The world must be ending." Ed joked as Will started the engine which roared to life and he drove out of the school parking lot. "Still this car is insane."

"A far cry from the piece of junk you said it was, huh?" Will wondered as he headed down main street to drop off Ed first.

"Hey, I called it like I saw it. But still, you've really outdone yourself with this one. You've got to let me borrow this baby one day." Ed said only for Will to chuckle. "Come on, dude. This car is a definite lady magnet and with it you'll have them eating out of your hand."

"Please tell me you're not actually listening to Ed, Will." Courtney wished.

"Trust me, Courtney. I'm not. And you're not borrowing my car." Will told him. "Knowing you, you'll likely crash it and I'm not about to let you wreck it just after I put all that time in fixing it."

"Oh, come on." Ed begged but Will just ignored him as he drove through the city to drop him off and then Beth before he dropped off Courtney. He parked in the driveway of her house and got out to help her out from the backseat.

"So, I'll see you at Yolanda's house at six." He told her and she smiled. "I think tonight is going to be a night we'll never forget."

"Very cliché of you but I agree." She smiled before walking up to her house. Will watched her go in before he got into his car and drove through the city to head to the desert DEO base and check in on things. It took a bit but once he was clear of the city, he could really let his car loose on the highway before taking a road through the desert. He scanned in through the base's garage and parked his car before walking in and passing various agents who smiled and greeted him.

"Hey guys…" Will passed them with a smile on his face before he arrived at the main observation center where Director Henshaw was overlooking some reports.

"Mr. Detmer. I wasn't expecting to see you here today. Thought you'd be busy getting ready for your dance." Henshaw handed a data pad to a technician who pat Will on the shoulder as he left.

"I've still got some time before I need to get ready. Just figured I'd stop by incase there was an emergency or Fort Rozz escapee sighting." Will pointed out.

"Well, things have been quietly but we're close to a lead on Mandrax." Henshaw told him.

"The Fort Rozz escapee who started the alien crime syndicate? I'd definitely feel better with him back behind bars." He muttered.

"As would we all. I have one my agents undercover but Mandrax moves around constantly and is extremely hard to get close to. From what we can tell, he's been moving into stealing rare and expensive earth art. Apparently, earth art is big business throughout the galaxy." Henshaw explained. "Once we get solid intel on him, we'll set up an operation to take him down."

"Good. Anything else? Hopefully on the man who managed to escape our capture?" Will wondered.

"No, Devoe is still in the wind." Henshaw replied. "But lately we've been picking up bits of intel from the National City Police and FBI that could indicate that some of the Forever Knights associates are looking into something in National City."

Will thought over that idea and wondered what could drag them to National City but then remembered his last encounter with them with the whole ancient Mayan sword and then him using his armor to save the city against Devoe, Tigress, Sportsmaster, and Bloodsport. "It's me." Will told Henshaw which earned him a look. "They're in National City to look for me. When we went to get the Mayan Sword, Enoch said that he had managed to get some partial images of my face before we destroyed their manor. Not enough for a complete facial reconstruction so they don't know who I am but enough to give them possibilities. And after I used the same armor to stop Devoe and his lackeys, they must think that National City is where they'll find me."

"That's a concern." Henshaw told him. "Adams, I want someone monitoring all feeds, police transmissions, and every piece of information coming in and out of the city. If the Knights so much as sneeze I want to know where they are."

"Yes, sir." Analyst Adams replied.

"Could they track you down?" Henshaw asked Will.

"I don't see how they could. When we blew up the Forever Knights manor, we went over the security footage and none of the cameras had a clear image of my face. Just partial images so not enough for facial recognition to track me down otherwise they already would have done so. And my armor isn't exactly common so they can't track it down and Enoch or his knights never saw my face. It's like looking for a needle in a haystack." Will pointed out.

"Then we'll keep it that way." They heard as Max walked over to join them. He just got back from finishing some repairs in the aerial bay. "There's no way they could track Will down in the city. Especially since he hasn't used his armor again."

"Still, them being in the city is a concern." Henshaw pointed out when he got an idea. "But one we could use to our advantage and bring them to us."

Max understood what Director Henshaw was implicating and it sounded like a great idea. "Use what they're looking for to our advantage and trap them. Oldest trick in the book yet still affective."

"Max, get down to the engineering bay and have them begin making a copy of Will's suit. Not all its weapons and functions. We just need something physical to use in the field." Henshaw told him and Max nodded.

"How about I save you the trip and manpower." Will unclipped his armor belt buckle and pressed the hourglass emblem which glowed, signifying it was active. "Deactivate genetic lock. Authorization: William Benjamin Detmer."

They saw the emblem glow blue momentarily before it beeped and the glow faded away. "Genetic lock?" Henshaw asked.

"When I was Grey Matter and began designing my armor, it occurred to me to put in some safety functions in case something bad happened. One of them happened during my accidental freefall. The armor is designed to protect me should it sense any biological danger." He pointed out and both men nodded, finding that very smart but given it was Grey Matter who thought it up it made sense. When Will was Grey Matter, he was likely the smartest being on the planet. "The genetic lock is a safety feature in case the armor was stolen or someone got their hands on it. Only I can use it so with it deactivated you can use it to lure the Forever Knights into your trap."

Max took the armor buckle and looked at it, still finding it amazing that Grey Matter was able to design a state-of-the-art battle suit made of Nth and Promethium metal and have it compact into something so small. "Now we can use it to trap them and we'll be ready if they have any surprises."

"Exactly. Whoever wears the armor shouldn't have an issue. It's fairly simple and responds to thoughts so just think it and it can do it." He explained so Max decided to try it himself. He clipped the armor buckle onto his belt and pressed the emblem only for nothing to happen so he looked at Will. "Press it again."

Max did and the armor activated, spreading out and covering him from head to toe. The armor looked exactly same down to the boots, gauntlets, hood, mask and even the placement of the armor plates on the chest. The only visible difference was that Max was slightly taller and more built than Will. "Wow, it does feel good." Max said with the armor disguising his voice like it did Will's before the mask retracted. "While I'm glad you disguised your voice, just digitally making it darker seems weird.

"I took a page out of Batman's book and added to it but I see what you mean." Will pointed out with a shrug.

"How does it feel, Max?" Henshaw asked him. Max moved his arms around and jumped up a bit.

"Feels good. Will was right. Does feel like my favorite pair of sweatpants." Max replied. He looked down at his right arm and with a simple thought the circular shield appeared. "Looks like it's working."

"Good. You'll be in the armor for our plan to work. Get yourself acquainted with it." Henshaw told him as Will walked over and took the shield off of his dad's arm.

"Will, what are you doing?" Max asked.

"I want to see if I can actually do this or if it's the armor." He replied. After a deep breath he took a few steps forward and threw the shield at the wall where it ricocheted onto another wall and then the ceiling before heading straight at Will who managed to drop to the ground at the last second. Max ended up catching the shield before it ricocheted off something else and hit someone. Max and Director Henshaw looked at Will on the floor with amused expressions on their faces. "Ok, so it was mostly the armor."

"Yeah." Max helped him back up before making the armor retract into the buckle. "All right, that's enough of that. Let's head home because you've got to get ready. I'll be back later, Director Henshaw."

"Good luck." Henshaw bid the father and son farewell before focusing back on work.

After a drive back into the city and to their Condo, Will took a shower and got ready for the Junior Prom. A shower, shave, and a little hair gel before he slipped into his tuxedo. He walked out of the bathroom where he saw his dad using his armor and its various features. He extended out the flight wings which ended up pushing over a chair before retracting them, used the HUD to cycle through the various ammunition types available in the forearm launcher and then used some nanites to make a sword handle appear in his right hand. One flick of a switch on the handle and a single edged blade shot out similar to a katana or a ninjato sword but more tactical and modern. The fact that the blade came out of the handle showed that Max wanted the design to be collapsible. He then made a combat knife appear in his other hand and he began going through some Krav Maga and Kali flows with both weapons when he saw Will standing there in his tux.

"You know how to use a sword?" He asked as Max retracted the hood and helmet.

"A sword, no?" Max slid the knife into the right boot and then retracted the sword before putting the handle on his back. "But Kali and Krav Maga yes so I'm just applying some knife techniques with the sword. Same principle but longer reach. I am really liking this armor. Do you think I can get one for myself?"

"That can be arranged." Will walked forward in his tux and held up the bow tie. "Could you help?"

"Sure." Max retracted the armor back into the buckle and began tying the bow tie. "Bow ties are tricky. They didn't have a clip-on one?"

"It didn't feel right wearing a clip-on but I'm regretting that now." Will pointed out causing Max to laugh as he finished with the bow tie. "Thanks. So, how do I look?"

Max looked at his son and he looked good in the tux. "You look great. Of course, what do you expect since all your good looks come from my genes." Max told him, fixing his bow tie so it was straight and flattening out a wrinkle on his collar. He smiled at him before patting him on the cheek and holding him close. "But your smarts and personality come from your mother. And she would be so proud of you right now. She'd be kissing you all over, fixing your hair and gabbing all about Courtney."

"I miss her." Will said, holding his dad close. Max pat him on the head and rubbed his back.

"So, do I. But she's looking out for the both of us, I know it." Max whispered back as he wiped away a tear and check Will over once again. He smiled and patted him on the shoulders. "You're good. Ready?"

"Ready." Will took the corsage out of the fridge and the two drove to Yolanda's house in Will's car which Max would drive home. When they got to Yolanda's house there were other cars in the driveway but no limo. They parked and Will knocked on the door where Yolanda's mom answered.

"Hey, Will. Just in time. Max, good to see you. Everyone's in the backyard and the girls are getting ready." She let them in and they walked through the house to the patio in the backyard where some refreshments and snacks were set up. The parents were talking and enjoying themselves a bit so Max walked over to get a drink while Will walked over and joined Ed and Henry who were in their tuxes as well.

"Hey, guys."

"Hey, man. Nice tux." Ed told him as Henry managed a nod.

"Thanks. You too, man. Is Vic on his way?" Will asked.

"Yeah, he just texted me. The limo just picked him and Karen up and they're on their way here." Ed told him. "So, nervous?"

"A little bit." Will admitted.

"Think anything might happen between you and Courtney tonight?" Ed wondered with a not-so subtle undertone in his voice.

"We'll see where the night goes, Ed. Again, I think it's really sweet that you're going with Beth." Will told him.

"Well, Beth is actually doing me the solid and saving me the shame of going alone. I really owe her one so I shall be the best date I can be." Ed admitted with a great deal of maturity that wasn't usually around.

"Wow, Ed. That's really mature of you and I'm proud." Will told him.

"And if I do a great job, which I know I will, soon every girl at school will be eating out of the palm of my hand." Ed assured himself.

"And you're back to normal." Will muttered when he caught a camera flash out of the corner of his eye. Ed's mom was taking pictures with Max standing next to her supervising.

"Oh, you boys look so handsome. More pictures." She began taking so many pictures that the sheer number of camera flashes would likely cause temporary blindness.

"Please let the girls be ready soon…" Will muttered as he, Ed, and Henry had to endure about 10 minutes of photos before the girls were ready. That's when the limo arrived at Yolanda's house. The driver was patiently waiting outside as Vic and Karen joined them. Vic was dressed in a nice tux and Karen was wearing a lovely dark yellow dress with her matching corsage. "Wow, Karen you look great."

"Thanks, Will. A tux really suits you." Karen told him.

"Thanks." He replied. "And of course, Vic is his usual best. I'm surprised you didn't bring your Letterman jacket along with the tux."

"I tried but Karen stopped me but even without it, I'm looking amazing. Can I get a Booyah?" Vic asked.

"No." Everyone replied.

"Killjoys." Vic muttered when Yolanda's grandmother walked out to the backyard.

"Yolanda and the others are ready." She announced.

Everyone walked inside the house to the foyer and the parents got their cameras ready. Will, Ed, and Henry stood together as Yolanda's cousin Alex came down the stairs to announce the girls. "Ladies and gentlemen, they are ready. Coming down the stairs, Ms. Beth Chapel."

Alex raised his hand up and Beth came down the stairs in a dark green prom dress with her hair done up. Beth's mom and dad smiled and started to tear up as everyone took photos. Ed walked over and took out the corsage, putting it on her wrist while Beth pinned his boutonniere.

"Wow, Beth you look amazing." Will told her.

"Thank you, Will." Beth replied.

"He's right. You look incredible." Ed added.

"Thank you and you look very handsome." She told him.

"Thank you again for going with me, Beth. I promise I shall be the best junior prom date I can be." Ed swore as the two posed for pictures. It was cute and even though there likely wasn't anything romantic between Ed and Beth, it was nice. Once they had taken enough photos Ed and Beth joined Vic and Karen.

"Next up, Ms. Courtney Whitmore." Alex announced.

Courtney came down the stairs wearing a lovely strapless blue prom dress. Her hair was curled and she had on a nice matching necklace. Will was a bit awestruck seeing Courtney walking down the stairs before his dad gave him a small nudge from the back to start walking. He cleared his throat and took a deep breath before he walked over as she made it to the last step.

"You look beautiful."

"Thank you." Courtney blushed a bit as she moved some hair behind her ear. "And you look handsome."

"Thank you very much." Will smiled as he took out the corsage and put it on her wrist while she put the blue boutonniere on his jacket. "Like the color."

"I know." She smiled as the two posed for photos.

Will's dad took out his phone and snapped a few photos but the other parents would send him copies. He couldn't smile any more at the moment and he couldn't be happier for Will. Despite all the craziness that went on in their lives the past year the little moments of normalcy were much appreciated. Pat and Barbara smiled as they took pictures and Mike held onto Max so he didn't accidently rush over and slobber on Courtney's dress. After the myriad of pictures, Yolanda came down wearing a lovely black dress, her hair was straightened and she looked great. Henry put her corsage on and the two posed for pictures before some more group pictures inside and then outside before they started to head to the limo.

Will and Courtney walked out together as Pat, Barbaran and Max walked over to their kids. "Now, I know you're a good kid, Will so we're trusting you. I went to prom once when I was young so…"

"Honey, honey, it's ok." Barbara told Pat.

"I know, sir. You have nothing to worry about." Will promised him, shaking his hand.

"You look so beautiful." Barbara hugged her daughter and Pat kissed her on the head while Will hugged his dad.

"Take care and have fun. But not too much fun." Max told him causing Will to laugh. "If there's an emergency just give me a call and I'll be there."

"I will." He replied.

"Now, go. Have fun." Pat told them as the kids got into the limo, played some music, and went to their prom. The driver put the cover up and thankfully it was soundproof as they blasted music and had fun, taking more photos, and even stood up in the sunroof of the limo. They passed other limos and cars and even some local businesses and houses had congratulation signs for their prom.

"You guys know that Cindy is going all Hollywood with the theme this year since she was the president of the Junior Prom committee. I cannot even tell you how miserable those meetings were." Beth told them. "She spent over $100,000 over budget and her mom had to write a check."

"Geez." Will muttered. "$100,000?"

"Yeah."

"Ugh, Cindy Burman is the worst. Rich bitch, one word." Yolanda said.

"Oh, hyphen?" Courtney joked as they took more photos.

They eventually arrived at the Markson hotel where there were attendees and valets there to greet the cars and limos for the Prom. There were even giant lights set up like a Hollywood premiere with parents around to take photos of the students going in.

"We're here!" Vic shouted and everyone cheered. A hotel attendant walked over and opened the door but once they got out, they could see that Beth was right and Cindy Burman really did go all Hollywood for the Junior Prom. They went inside and met some of their classmates and the teachers who were chaperoning the dance. Principal Anaya Bowin was greeting all the students before they went into the ballroom and screening them, catching bottles of alcohol they tried to sneak in.

"Hello, everyone. Gentlemen, you all look dashing and ladies you all look beautiful." She smiled as they all walked up the stairs to the ballroom.

"Cute dress, Yolanda." They heard and saw Cindy Burman in her green and black dress. She was with her two friends and her date. Some senior quarterback from Eagleton Prep, National City's most expensive, snobbish prep school and National City High's biggest rival.

"Cindy. Your dress is so…you." Yolanda muttered. "All…flair and looks with no substance."

Cindy just glared at Yolanda so Will decided to keep this from escalating. "Ok, girls. Tonight, is just for us to have fun. So, maybe we can bury the hatchet tonight and we can go back to killing each other on Monday?"

"As fellow Junior Prom Queen nominee, I want to wish you luck tonight. You too, Karen. You're gonna need all you can get." Cindy taunted before she and her friends walked away.

"Rich bitch, one word." Karen said and everyone nodded.

They all walked into the ballroom and saw how lavish and Hollywood it was set up with falling confetti, a DJ on a second floor booth, a huge dance floor, and a giant screen that was tied to a camera that showed the students coming in.

"National City High make some noise!" The DJ shouted and everyone cheered. "My name is DJ Tyler. I'm gonna be hosting the events tonight. This has to be the greatest Prom on earth brought to you also by Cindy Burman! I see you over there! It's time to get the party started! Get out there and get your party pumping! Now it's time for a little consequence!"

Everyone cheered as the DJ played the next song. "Ok, you've got to hand it to Cindy, though. This is amazing!" Courtney told them.

"Wait, does this mean we like her now?" Beth wondered as everyone shared a look.

"No." Yolanda stated as they all went to the dancefloor and had fun. Will was enjoying himself and dancing, probably making a fool of himself but having fun. No aliens or Omnitrix hassle. He got to be a regular kid again. If only he knew how this night would end.

National City, old industrial district

National City's old industrial district was a relic from the city's founding back in the 1905. It was the part of the city where a lot of the old industries had set up factories and refineries. Most of those were shut down and replaced with new ones but there were still a few old factories that hadn't been used in years and made perfect hiding places. Devoe used one for his scheme and now the Forever Knights were using one as a forward operating base in the city to track down the mystery vigilante who has been thwarting their plans so far. A total of a 40 Forever Knights were sent to National City by Enoch, who was too high and mighty to come with them but ordered that the vigilante was captured.

They brought weapons and enough high-tech equipment to conduct their search and find the vigilante. Three of the knights were at a computer bank going through information while ten more were scattered throughout the factory. Some were on guard duty while others were just lounging about. The rest of the knights had gone out to track down the vigilante and had several leads to follow with possible sightings on the eastern part of the city.

One of the knights got back from doing a perimeter sweep and sat down in a chair before taking off his helmet to eat some Big Belly Burger when he was put in a rear naked choke. He struggled to get free but went slack within a minute and passed out before his body was dragged out of sight. Two more knights were walking along a walkway on overwatch position when someone dropped down behind them and took them out with quick effective takedowns. One was kicked in the back of the leg and hit in the back of the head while the other had his left arm dislocated and put in another rear naked choke. One of the other knights on lookout heard a thud so he walked over with his assault rifle and pulled out his radio.

"We've got company. Burn everything." He ordered only for a shield to come out of nowhere and hit him right in the face knocking him on his back. "He's here! He's—"

The knight was cut off as the armored vigilante dropped down on his stomach and knocked him out with a punch to the face. He held out his arm and the shield ricocheted back into its slot. The other knights rushed down to the computer bank and quickly tried to wipe the system and delete all the information when the armored vigilante dropped down from the ceiling with a flying knee and sent one of the knights crashing into a table. Said intruder was the mystery vigilante who had been messing with them ever since the Krolotean capture. But instead of Will it was actually his father, Max. Two of the Forever knights on the walkway above rushed over so Max hurled the shield into the air. It cut through one of the cables holding the walkway up so it shook and caused the knights to stagger before it ricocheted and hit the both of them in the chest, embedding itself in the walkway. They were knocked off the walkway and hit the ground so one of the knights by the computer equipment took out his pistol and fired but the bullets bounced off the armor. Seeing his gun doing nothing he took out his knife and charged.

Max ducked and dodged all his attacks, parrying the knife before locking the knight's knife hand. The knight then dropped the knife and caught it in his other hand, trying to slash him in the knee but Max spun around and then used his knee to block the next stab, dropping to the ground so his knee kept the man's hand trapped. Max then grabbed him by the head and landed an open palm strike to his chest that sent him colliding into a support beam. Max kicked up the knight's knife and threw it to his side where it stabbed another Forever Knight in the hand before he could pull the pin on a grenade. The knight struggled to pull the pin free with one hand but Max just rushed him, vaulting over a table and drop kicking him to the ground.

The other knights in the warehouse fired at him with their assault rifles so Max activated his jet boots and jumped high into the air where he landed on the same walkway the shield was stuck in. He grabbed the shield and ran across the walkway while the Knights kept shooting at him but they either missed or their bullets just bounced off his armor like before. Max looked down below at some of the knights grouped together and the HUD showed up some possible ideas for handling them when he saw the two support cables holding up part of the walkway. He pulled out the throwing star boomerang from his belt and threw it. It spun through the air and sliced through the two support cables causing part of the walkway to drop to the ground, causing a lot of the knights to scatter. Max then slid down the partially destroyed walkway like a slide, using his shield to block some bullets and when he reached the bottom he lunged forward and barreled into another Forever Knight henchmen, sending him flying. After a roll and then a quick butterfly flip, he hurled the shield which ricocheted and struck many of the Forever knights causing them to stagger before the shield got stuck in a wall.

He pulled out the sword handle from his back and unsheathed the blade before rushing to the closest knight, sliding on the ground, and knocking him down with a leg sweep. Following that up with a spinning elbow drop to his chest which definitely cracked a few ribs. Max did a kip-up back to his feet and used his sword to block and parry one of the Forever Knight's energy spears. Despite the energy properties the spear tip had which allowed it to cut through steal and stone, the promethium-Nth metal combination of the armor and sword stood strong. Max parried the spear and pushed the knight into two others, sending them to the ground before he did a behind the back parry and elbowed a Forever Knight in the face and back kicked the knight into a wall. He hit with a thud and it shook loose the shield which hit him on the head, knocking him out.

Max parried and blocked the attacks of two knights before he slashed and kicked him in the same leg and his momentary stagger allowing him to land a rising knee to the side head. That left the other Knight open to a quick leg takedown and then a broken leg before Max threw the sword and hit the last standing knight in the leg, causing him to trip on his face. The knight struggled to get away as Max walked over and yanked out the sword causing the man to scream in pain before he stomped on his head and knocked him out. He retracted the sword and walked over to get his shield when one of the Forever Knights who had been hiding underneath the desk came out with a rocket launcher. His finger squeezed the trigger but before it could fire, he was knocked out with a gun butt to the side of head by Director Henshaw.

"You missed one." Henshaw told him as the other DEO agents began to secure the area and take the Forever Knights into custody.

"Or I knew you were there." Max replied, the armor disguising his voice before he walked over to one of the knights who was still conscious. He picked him up with one hand and held him up in the air. "Where's Enoch?"

"I'm not telling you anything." The knight spat at his face only for Max to throw him into the air so he hit the ceiling and dropped back down. This time Max caught him by the ankle so his face was just inches from the ground. "All right! All right! I'll talk!"

"Smart move. Where's Enoch?"

"I don't know but he's not here. He sent us to National City to find you. He's probably at another one of our bases that you'll never find." The knight said so Max just dropped him on his head and knocked him out. Two of the DEO agents came over and took him to the others who were already restrained and unconscious thanks to a small sedative. They'd let the police and FBI take care of them. The rest of the DEO team was going over the computer set up and the information the knights had and were copying the data. While the Knights had set the data to destroy itself, Max managed to stop them just in time and the technicians were able to recover anything that was destroyed. Max and Henshaw walked over to see the row of monitors with a lot of information.

"What am I looking at?" Henshaw asked.

"We're copying all the data the Forever Knights have on their computers. It should give us more information on their organization and possible hideouts." An analyst told him.

"Good. Make sure you triple guard everything we copy then wipe out anything sensitive before the police get here." Henshaw ordered when Max noticed that the Knights had tapped into the city's CCTV footage along with dozens of private security camera footage. The programs the knights had seemed to be tracking certain individuals throughout the city.

"What's this?" Max asked, pointing to the information and search the knights were doing so a technician ran a quick analysis.

"Looks like the Knights were plugged into various security cameras for some kind of search algorithm." The technician dug a little deeper and found a data file containing still images of Will from the time they rescued the Krolotean from Enoch's manor. Like Will and the others knew, the stills were only partial images of him and weren't enough for facial recognition or else they would have already found him but it was enough for partials and digital reconstruction of possibilities. That led to the next file which was a list of a hundred various people in National City who were possible matches to the Knight's digital reconstructions ranging from a 25% match all the way up 75%. "They were running a digital reconstruction algorithm to pull possibilities and used that as a sort of hunting list. They narrowed it down a possible 100 people in National City."

"Is he on the list?" Henshaw asked, not saying Will's name out loud but the technician knew who he meant. A quick search and technician shook his head no which made everyone breathe a sigh of relief. "Who's on it?"

"Various men residing in National City ages ranging from 21 to 45 with similar height and body dimensions. And according to this, they were already looking into abducting them for interrogation." The technician replied when one of the field agents walked over.

"Director, one of the knights spoke up in exchange for a deal. He said they came to the city with a total of 40 men. We managed to capture a team in the city on the way here and this group but that's only 30."

"That means there are still ten of them out there. Question is, where are they now?" Max wondered.

National City: Markson Hotel

The National City High junior prom was in full swing and it was a fun time. A lot of dancing, photos, and just a good time. Will was enjoying himself as it was a nice break from the government training. Everyone had a nice dinner with more dancing afterward and all in all it was a nice time. Luckily there weren't any issues between Yolanda and Cindy as the two kept a good distance from each other. Yolanda and Henry were enjoying themselves; Vic was getting all romantic with Karen and Ed was making good on his promise to make this a fun night for Beth. There likely wasn't anything romantic going on between the two but it was nice to see. Courtney was having fun and Will was being a gentleman and making sure the night was going great for her but a part of him wasn't sure if he should try and make things official. The whole dating thing never really factored into his move to National City and the Omnitrix.

A song just finished and everyone cheered as the DJ grabbed his microphone. "All right, folks! You're looking really good out there tonight! But what I'm gonna do is slow it down a bit because I don't want you to sweat out your good clothes. On your way to the dance floor though, fellas, grab your girl and thank your man Victor Stone out there! Victor Stone is sending this out to his date, Karen Beecher! So, we're gonna get that busy right now, here we go folks."

Vic led Karen onto the dance floor for the slow song and most of the real couples got on the dance floor as well. Will and Courtney were among the people that didn't so they just stayed at their table and talked.

"It looks like Vic is really pulling out all the stops for Karen." Courtney said as Will looked over and saw the two. It was puppy love and adorable.

"Vic has never been one to do something without a hundred percent effort. But maybe it's a good thing. Karen could be one of the few people to actually rein in his massive personality." Will joked, sipping some water, and subtly moving his jacket and shirt cuff to make sure it covered the Omnitrix. He was lucky to find a white shirt with a thick enough wrist section that it covered up the watch. That's when he noticed Courtney seemed a little preoccupied with something. "Everything ok?"

"Yeah, it's fine." Courtney assured him but he wasn't convinced.

"Nice try but I've known you long enough to know when you're lying. It's the crinkle from your eyebrows." He told her. "What's going on?"

"It's just…I overheard a very weird phone Pat had a few days ago and he's been acting weird ever since." She told him.

"Weird how?" Will wondered.

"I don't know. He excuses himself to take phone calls, he's been acting weird and been busier a lot more than usual." Courtney said and saw it worried her so he grabbed her hands.

"Easy, Court. Don't go worst case scenario and think Pat is having an affair. Have you seen how he and your mom are together? It's like they're two high school kids reenacting a rom-com every day." He said when they overheard an argument between Cindy Burman and her boyfriend and she wasn't particularly happy with him. "Not them, more normal high school students."

That managed to earn a chuckle from Courtney. "You have a point. They have been very public in their moments together."

"That couldn't have been fun to see." Will pointed out and she nodded. "But I wouldn't worry. What your mom and Pat has…it's something worthwhile. He could be busy with a new business opportunity or a project."

"Now that you mention it, he has been spending a lot of time at the garage working on a secret project and wanted some information on how you got your car ready so fast. I wasn't that helpful on that last part." Courtney told him.

"Well, there you go. Your mom and Pat have something special and with you and Mike…a lot of other families would want the same thing. Don't lost faith in him." Will assured her and Courtney smiled. "Now, I'll be right back after I go to the bathroom and stretch my legs but when I get back, I think it's only fair that we show everyone how good we move."

"Can't wait." She smiled as Will got up and walked through the ballroom until he walked out.

After going to the bathroom and washing up, he walked back up into the hallway and checked his phone but didn't see any breaking news alerts or DEO calls which meant that things were ok. He put his phone away and walked back to the ballroom when he heard clatter and saw a lone service cart with a metal tray that fell on the floor. Will walked over and saw it was a room service cart and there was still trays of food which meant it must not have been delivered. He did see a plate of bacon wrapped shrimp so he double checked to make sure no one was looking before he swiped one.

"Oh, that's good." He muttered, walking back to the ballroom but heard some grunts and sounds of a struggle. "Don't do it, Will. Don't do it. Don't do it."

He tightened his fists and mentally slapped himself upside the head before he followed the noises down the hall to one of the smaller ballrooms the hotel had for possible conventions or business meetings. A quick peak inside and he saw the familiar chainmail and creepy masks of the Forever Knights. About ten of them armed with assault rifles, shotguns, energy swords and lances but one of the knights was dressed in regular civilian clothing. That's when he saw a tied-up man with a gag in his mouth. He must have been a hotel worker they grabbed when he had the cart.

"Ok, this is the guy we're looking for. Just confirm he's here and then we'll separate him from everyone else." One of the knights told his friend who was wearing the civilian disguise. He showed him a data pad with a DMV photo of Duncan Rouleau who was Will's history teacher and one of the chaperones for the Junior Prom.

Seeing that the knights were here, Will quickly pulled out his phone and called his dad. "Come on, pick up. Pick up."

Back with Max and the others…

Director Henshaw was organizing the last of the cleanup at the warehouse the Forever Knights had used as their staging area. They confiscated all sensitive i.e., alien, or non-normal evidence and information from the computers before they would call the police and pose as FBI agents. The National City police would then take the knights into custody without being any the wiser to the DEO. They managed to extract some valuable intel on Enoch's organization including safehouses and resources which they'd capture later. Max was helping, still in the armor when the HUD alerted him to call from Will.

"Hey, Will? How's the dance going? What's up?" Max wondered.

"Dad, the Forever Knights are at the hotel."

"What?" Max asked as Director Henshaw and the others saw him tense up. "Will, what's going on?"

"Ten of them are here. One is disguised as a hotel employee. They're here looking for a teacher of mine. Duncan Rouleau."

"Duncan Rouleau? What for?" Max asked as one of the technicians ran a quick search for the name.

"Max, what's going on?" Henshaw asked him.

"The ten remaining Forever Knights are at the same hotel Will's dance is." Max answered. "But they're looking for a teacher. Why?"

The technician brought up the Knight's list of possible targets and Duncan Rouleau was one of the people with the highest probability of match at 75%. "That's not good. Tell Will not to engage. They're not looking for him. We're on our way." Henshaw ordered and Max nodded.

"Will, they're not there for you. They don't know you're their target. Head back to the ballroom and play like nothing's wrong. We're on our way and we'll handle them."

"Too late, they found m—"

"Will?! WILL?!" Max shouted.

"GET THE HELL OFF— [Fire alarm siren]"

"WILL!" Max activated the flight wings, jetpack, and jet boots before literally tearing a hole through the roof of the warehouse and flying straight there.

"MAX!" Henshaw shouted but he was long gone by now. "Alpha team, with me! We're leaving now!"

Back with Will…

At the hotel, Will had peaked in on the Knights in the hotel room when one of them spotted him by the door. "Hey!"

"Too late, they found me—" Will was cut off as the knight grabbed his phone and threw it on the ground. He then grabbed Will by the jacket and pulled him in. "Hey, everyone. Clearly this is a situation I don't want to involve myself in so I'm just gonna go back to my dance now."

"Sorry, kid. Not gonna happen." The knight told him before taking out a pair of zip cuffs. While a part of him was terrified and worried, his training at the DEO also kicked in and he quickly kneed the man in the groin before running out in the hall.

"Get him!" One of the knights shouted and another scrambled out of the room. They rushed into the hall and he managed to grab Will from behind.

"GET THE HELL OFF!" Will stomped on his foot which loosened his grip before he grabbed his arm and threw him over his shoulder to the ground. He saw a nearby fire alarm and quickly pulled it before being tackled to the ground.

Everyone inside the ballroom looked around in confusion when they heard the fire alarm as the DJ stopped the music. "Ok! Ok, everyone remain calm! Let's head to the exit!" Principal Bowin shouted as the students began to make their way to the exits of the ballroom. Vic, Karen, Ed, Beth, and Courtney grouped up with Yolanda and Henry as they followed the other students to the exits.

"Courtney, where's Will?" Ed asked her.

"He went to the bathroom." Courtney answered.

"Don't worry. We'll find him." Vic assured her when one of the teachers opened up the ballroom doors only to get punched across the face by a Forever Knight. Several of the female students and teachers screamed in fight as ten of the Forever Knights marched into the ballroom with their assault rifles set on their hostages as they forced them back into the room.

"No one is going anywhere." One of the Knights warned them, clearly the leader of the squad. They forced the students back into the ballroom with their guns and energy swords/lances as one of the knights pushed Will into the room to join the others. Will backed up and rejoined Courtney and his friends. "Down on your knees!"

"Oh my god, Will are you ok?" She hugged him and he rubbed her back.

"I'm fine. I saw them as I got out of the bathroom. I pulled the fire alarm but they grabbed me." He whispered as the ten Knights surrounded the crowd of students and teachers.

"Ok, now listen up! Let's keep this really simple! We're not here to hurt any of you! All we're looking for is one person in particular! Duncan Rouleau!" The leader shouted.

Everyone looked at Mr. Rouleau as he stood up to face the knights in both confusion and fear. "I'm Duncan Rouleau. Look, whatever you want with me, just don't hurt the kids." He pleaded as he walked forward when two of the Knights grabbed him by the arms and pulled him over to the leader. "Please, just let them go."

"Not yet. Search him." The leader told them and they did. Will was tempted to use the Omnitrix and go alien to take down the knights but the flash of green light would be a huge red flag not to mention that everyone would know who he is. Should he risk it?

"Nothing." The knights replied after searching Rouleau and only found a wallet, phone, and keys. "Everything looks normal."

"Look, just tell me what you want and we can work this out peacefully. If you want money, just take what I have." He told them.

"We don't want your money. We want this!" The Knight held up a data pad and showed him a freeze frame security image from the Enoch's castle that showed the Omnitrix. "Give us the watch."

"I don't have that watch!" Rouleau pleaded. The students and other teachers were cowered in fear but Vic looked up and managed to get a glimpse of the image on the data pad and recognized it. He remembered seeing it on Will's wrist once during lunch before he covered it up with his jacket sleeve. Vic looked over at Will who made sure his long sleeve and tuxedo jacket was covering it when he noticed he was looking at him. Vic nodded at him and Will smiled, happy that Vic wasn't going to rat him out. He just hoped his dad and the DEO would get here soon before the Knights began searching everyone or they did something stupid.

"He's got nothing, sir." One of his men told him only for the leader to growl before he punched Mr. Rouleau in the gut in anger. The students and teacher chaperones cowered in fear with Principal Bowin being surprisingly less scared than everyone else. "Sir, we've got to get out of here. This has gotten out of hand."

The squad leader agreed and things could get even worse. Tracking down and hunting aliens while going up against the DEO was one thing but holding an entire Junior Prom hostage would only bring unnecessary attention, notoriety, and exposure to their secret group. "Ok, let's clear out."

The men nodded and moved to the exit one by one before they were gone and shut the door behind them. "Oh, thank god that's over." Beth muttered when they heard gunfire by the door and everyone hit the ground, covering their heads.

"SHOOT HIM!"

"WATCH YOUR BACK!"

"KILL HIM!"

"GET BACK_GAHH!"

"HELP!"

The cried of pain were followed by the sound of more bullets, the grinding of something hitting metal armor, definite bone breakage and general unpleasantness that seemed to indicate a surprise attack or a one-sided fight. Everyone cowered in fear and was either on the ground or hiding behind tables and chairs.

"What the hell was that?" Ed asked out loud but no one was brave enough to go to the door and see what happened. Luckily, no one had to do anything as the police and fire department opened the door.

"Everyone ok?!" An officer asked as they began escorting the students and teachers out of the ballroom.

Will and his friends joined the traffic out of the ballroom and while he was trapped in a literal sea of bodies, he was able to see the aftermath of a fight. Bullet holes all over the walls and ceilings, burn marks from energy swords along with giant cracks in the walls likely from where bodies were thrown but no bodies. They eventually arrived outside the hotel where the guests were gathered around next to fire trucks and police cruisers with news vans having just arrived. The reporters, cameramen and bystanders had their attention focused on the hotel building and that's when everyone else saw what they were looking at.

The ten Forever Knights were strung up and hung on the side of the hotel via cables like quail or doves after a hunt. Parts of their armor were bent or completely broken apart, their faces were bloody and bruised, and two of the knights had visibly broken arms while three had broken legs. They were all unconscious, probably from the beating and their weapons were piled on the ground which were taped off and being looked at by a CSI team. "Who the hell kick their assess?" Ed asked out loud.

"Look!"

A bystander shouted and pointed to the roof of a building across the street and everyone turned their heads to try and see what he saw. One of the officers turned on the searchlight in his car and shined it on the roof which is how everyone saw the city's masked vigilante standing on the roof. It was the same person who saved the hostages and took down Sportsmaster, Bloodsport, and Tigress during the Thinker's reign of terror. He now apprehended the ten men who attacked a teacher and held an entire Junior Prom hostage. The vigilante didn't say anything until he jumped off the roof, activated his flight wings and flew away. Reporters were quick to capitalize on the sudden revelation as Vic looked over at Will who was hugging Courtney and comforting her. The two friends shared a nod as the police and teachers kept them together.

Since the hotel was now a crime scene Junior Prom was technically over. Police officers cordoned off the ballroom and hallway while CSI teams went through the area for evidence. More backup arrived to aid in investigation and situation outside the hotel. Mr. Rouleau spoke with one of the detectives since he was attacked and some other witness statements were taken while the Fire Department worked on getting the Knights down from the side of the building. With everything that happened, the teachers called the students' parents to come pick them up. Considering what happened a lot of the students were traumatized while people like Cindy Burman were more pissed that the prom was ruined before king and queen could be announced. Will stuck with his friends and while they were still reeling from what happened the fact that none of them were hurt put them in good spirits. The prom was over but they had fun while it lasted.

"I still can't believe all of this happened?" Courtney muttered.

"Not the night you expected, isn't it?" Will asked her and she shook her head no as he held her close. "But it's over now and we're all safe. That's good enough for me."

"Yeah but why did they show up here? What could they want with Mr. Rouleau?" Beth wondered.

"No idea." Vic stated looking over at Will and gave him a slight nod. "But Will's right. It's over now. And considering how this night has ended I think it's safe to say that tonight's party is kind of over. No way our parents let us stay out tonight."

"That's fine by me. I just want to go home." Yolanda said.

"Well, our parents should be here soon so we can put a pin in the festivities." Will suggested. "How about we meet up tomorrow for lunch or something?"

"Sounds good to me." Vic replied when they saw the first cars begin to arrive. The parents that arrived were quickly taken to their kids. That's when a black Sedan arrived and several men in suits showed up to talk to the police.

"Who're the Men in Black?" Ed wondered as Will recognized them from the DEO. Director Henshaw must have sent them over to go over the scene and evidence and make sure the police and FBI didn't get anything they weren't supposed to know about.

"Look like Feds." Will remarked. "Guess the Knights of the Round Table are on the FBI's most wanted list."

"Tonight, is just weird." Karen said when the roar of an engine was heard as Max arrived at the hotel in Will's Camaro.

Will gave Courtney a quick hug before heading over to the edge of the sidewalk where he and his dad embraced each other in a powerful hug. "Thanks for saving me." He whispered.

"I'm just glad you're ok." Max told him, rubbing his back before checking his face for any bruises or cuts. "They didn't hurt you, did they?"

"No, I'm good. But they're not." Will and Max looked up at one of the Knights being removed from the cable that hung him up and placed down on a gurney. "The fight sounded brutal."

"I'll admit that I got a little carried away. Director Henshaw's gonna chew my head off for that but this was the last group of the Knights that came into the city." Max told him.

"Enoch?" Will wondered but Max shook his head no.

"No, just sent his minions. They managed to compile a list of possible matches based on the partials taken from their manor. Your teacher was one of them but you weren't. Their list only had people over the age of 21." Max explained.

"Little insulted but glad things worked out." He replied, looking over at his friends and the other students. "Things could have gotten really bad but they left the second their hunch was wrong."

"Guess they really only care about aliens and now you because of the headaches you cost them but we've got plenty of intel from their base in the city so we can make this cost them." Max assured him.

"Sounds good to me because I've got plenty of anger to work out on them." Will replied. "Dad, is it all right if I stick around a bit longer?"

Max smiled and gave him a nod, putting the Camaro keys in his hand. "Sure. I'll catch a ride with the others when they're done. I probably shouldn't say this again but you're 17 and still in high school. If I hear that Courtney is pregnant then you are dead."

"Egh, dad."

"Hey, we're not in the DEO so it's fair game." Max hugged his son one more time before Will walked back to his friends. "Make smart decisions and wear protection!"

Will grimaced and hid his head in shame and embarrassment as a few students, teachers, and bystanders witnessed the little exchange and laughed. "This night cannot get any worse." Will muttered when he arrived back with his friends who all had visible smirks on their faces. "Not one word."

"Oh, come on, Will. There's nothing to be embarrassed about. I think you and Courtney would make a cute baby." Ed joked and the others chuckled while he and Courtney blushed as bright as Christmas trees.

"Really? You want to go there, Eduardo? How about I tell everyone here about your little mix-up last summer on the 4th of July parade?" Courtney suggested and Ed immediately went pale.

"You wouldn't."

"I would and you have nothing to be ashamed about. From behind he looked like a beautiful girl." She remarked and everyone chuckled.

"Ok, I'll be good." Ed replied.

"Nicely done." Will whispered and she chuckled.

For the next hour, more and more parents showed up to take their kids home. Beth's parents were the first to show up but she assured them she was ok. Ed even walked over to help explained to them and keep them from going to the worst-case scenario. Ed's mom and dad showed up followed by Yolanda's parents, Dr and Mrs. Stone, and then Karen's parents as well when Courtney's mom and stepdad showed up.

"Oh, Courtney! Courtney are you ok?!" Barbara Whitmore hugged Courtney and looked her over for any kind of scratches, cuts, or injuries.

"Mom, I'm ok. I'm fine." Courtney assured her before hugging her again with Pat doing so as well.

"What happened?" Pat asked.

"Some crazy guys in knights armor showed up at the prom. Will was the one who saw them." Courtney told them.

"I was coming back from the bathroom when they stumbled out of a room and grabbed me. They were after Mr. Rouleau for some reason. The police are looking into it and the Feds shows up a while ago." Will explained.

"We're just glad you kids are ok. I know it's not the Junior Prom you were expecting but we're just glad you're all right." Pat told them. "Let's get you home, Courtney."

"But…"

"That sounds like a good idea." Will suggested as Courtney looked at him. "We can hang out tomorrow. Promise."

"That sounds great." Barbara added. Courtney nodded as she and Will hugged each other goodbye but he gave her a kiss on the cheek which made her blush a bit.

"Good night, Courtney. Despite how this night ended…I had fun." He smiled and she smiled back, moving some hair behind her ear.

"So, did I. I'll…uh, see you tomorrow." She smiled and joined her mom and stepdad on the way to the truck. On the way to the truck Pat got a text on his phone from a Sylvester Pemberton. Pat texted back a quick response that he was busy before joining his wife and stepdaughter.

Will left the hotel and drove out of the city to the condo where he changed back to his regular clothes before using XLR8 to head to the DEO desert facility. He walked through the base and passed by the agents who looked sorry for him, probably hearing that his prom was ruined. He kept moving through the base when he saw Director Henshaw speaking with his dad in the weapon room and judging by their body language it wasn't a congratulatory one.

"Hey, Adam…" Will stopped a passing DEO agent. "What's going on with Director Henshaw and my dad?"

"Disciplinary action for Max going off on his own to save you." Adam answered.

"What? That wasn't his fault, he was protecting me."

"We know and so does everyone but…the DEO does have protocol." Adam told him before walking away.

Max and Director Henshaw continued talking for a few more minutes until they walked out and went their separate ways. Max made his way to the garage while Director Henshaw went to the command center but Will walked up to him. "Will, whatever you're going to say there's no need."

"Director Henshaw, don't take this out on my dad. He was just protecting me. This isn't his fault." Will pleaded. "He didn't nothing wrong. Please."

"I know and you're right, Will but Max also acted rashly, without backup and someone could have gotten hurt. I know he was doing the right thing and if I was in his position, I would do the same thing but he also said that if he were in mine then he'd have to adhere to DEO policy." Henshaw told him. While he had to punish Max for rushing off on his own it wasn't easy for him to do so. "What your father did for you was very brave. This isn't easy for me."

Henshaw handed Will his armor belt buckle before he continued on his way to the commander center. Will headed to the garage and saw his dad working on the repairs to a DEO jeep. "Don't bother saying anything to Director Henshaw, Will because I've taken my punishment." Max told him. "It's not that bad."

"It's not fair. You were just protecting me."

"Yeah, and in doing so I broke into a crowded and occupied hotel, started a massive and bloody fight outside a room of civilians and strung them up outside as a warning. It's those parts that Director Henshaw has issues with, not me saving you." Max stated. "I went alone without backup and I could have put people in danger. The rules are there for a reason. We can't bend them whenever we like. That's how we end up being the bad guys."

"Oh, come on, dad. You're telling me the US Government has never bent the rules for their own benefit?" Will pointed out.

"Not Director Henshaw at the DEO. He's a straight shooter and everyone here respects him for that." Max told him and while he knew that his dad didn't know Henshaw was a Martian, hearing how much he and the others respected him said a lot. "Besides, it's not that bad. Just three months stuck in the garage focused on repairs and maintenance along with working in the armory. No field work. Granted, it means we'll have to change the vacation I had planned in July to late August but I can handle that."

"It's still not fair that you're the one who got in trouble. This is on the Forever Knights." Will stated.

"True and they'll get what's coming to them. We got a lot of data on their outposts and other bases so we can make sure Enoch feels this. But all our actions have consequences. Let this be a lesson you take to heart, Will. No action is ever without a consequence whether it be miniscule or earth shattering." Max told him, walking up and patting his son on the head before giving him another hug. "I'll be fine. Why don't you go home and get some rest? I'll head there in a bit."

"Um…I'm actually gonna get some training in." Will replied, walking to the door.

"What kind of training?" Max asked him.

"The real-world kind." He answered as he walked into the hall and held up his armor buckle. "Reactivate genetic lock. Authorization: William Benjamin Detmer."

It glowed green momentarily before he clipped it on his belt and walked out of the DEO base. He used XLR8 to head back to the condo and retrieve the Proto-box which he used to look at the data the DEO got from the Forever Knights on their warehouses, outposts, and everything else. They managed to get the location of over 12 stash houses and outposts Enoch's Forever Knights had all over the country.

Secret Forever Knights Base, Colorado Mountains

Disguised as a private company's way station for natural preservation and ecological research at the base of Pikes Peak in the Colorado Mountains, it was an actually a front and an entrance for a hidden Forever Knights outpost underground. Being that it was an outpost it only had about 20 Forever Knights staying there and they were meant mainly as a scouting force for any kind of possible alien activity or artifacts in the area. Since it was the middle of the night all that could be heard was the sound of rushing river from a nearby stream, some chattering insects, and every once in a while, the howl of a wolf or hoot of an owl. A man walked out of the small single-story way station house/building to drink some coffee and take a look around. He was actually a Forever Knight but wearing regular clothes since there wasn't a need to wear his armor.

He sipped some coffee and checked his phone for news which is when he saw the breaking news story coming out of National City about an attempted hostage situation at a hotel. The man didn't bother reading the article because when he saw the two photos that were underneath the headline, he knew what happened. One photo was of the masked vigilante with the alien watch they were after but the other was of some of the Forever Knights beaten to a bloody pulp and strung up like hunted animals. The man turned to walk back inside but stopped when he heard wind rustling like something was flying through the air.

That's when a shield came out of nowhere and hit him in the side of the head. He wobbled a bit before collapsing to the ground. The shield bounced back until it was caught and Will walked into view wearing his armor. He retracted his shield before restraining the knocked out Forever Knight and searching his body where he found and kept the phone and special keycard. His armor hacked into phone and copied all the data before he crushed it in his hand and then walked into the building to see it was set up like a small one-story business startup but knew looks were deceiving. His HUD switched through various vision and light spectrums until stopping on the X-ray mode which let him see everything including the hidden outpost underground and the elevator hidden behind a bookcase.

Said bookcase was ripped out of the wall to reveal a steel door which was pushed open to reveal an elevator. "Bad guys always like their hidden bookcases." Will remarked as he walked in and took it down.

Down in the hidden underground outpost the 19 remaining Forever Knights were lounging about with some sitting around a table and playing cards while others were sitting on a couch and watching TV. Two were at the computers lazily looking over the security cameras when one noticed someone coming down the elevator and it wasn't one of their own. He enhanced the picture and saw it was the armored vigilante that stopped Enoch from getting the Mayan Sword and was in National City. That's when he saw the vigilante look at the camera and punch it out.

"We've got unwanted company!"

Everyone scrambled to get ready as they put on their helmets and grabbed their weapons. Eight grabbed assault rifles and loaded them while the others readied energy swords, energy lances, and shields as they stacked up outside the elevator. The knights with the shields knelt on the ground as a sort of barrier with the riflemen aiming at the door and the rest behind them. A pretty good formation for ambushing an enemy…only they were the ones who were about to be ambushed.

The knights waited in anticipation and readied their weapons as they heard the elevator's continuous dings. It was like a moment in a movie all the way up to the final ding and the elevator doors opening but, in this moment, there was a flash of green light instead of the usual smoke or empty elevator. The knights opened fire and all that could be heard was the distinct sound of their bullets hitting something that made them bounce off. That's when the knights assault rifles were hit with something which turned out to be shards of green crystals that spread throughout the guns and rendered them useless. Diamondhead then walked out of the elevator and his yellow eyes and stern expression showed that he was there to hurt them.

"I'm not lie to you idiots…this is gonna hurt."

Diamondhead charged forward and barreled through the group of Forever Knights like a bull sending them all over the room. He punched one in the face which dented his metal helmet before grabbing him by the back and hurling him through the security monitors and into the wall. A push kick sent one knight into his friend and both crashed through the poker table before he fired a barrage of crystals and pinned two knights to a wall. One of the knights picked up an energy sword and charged to cleave the alien in two only to get punched in the face five times. His helmet and mask were badly broken along with some of the bones in his face. Diamondhead touched the Omnitrix and after a flash of green light a pair of orange furred legs kicked the knight through a chair.

Wildmutt jumped on the ceiling and crawled around a bit before pouncing on the back of the Forever Knight and slamming him into the ground. The Vulpimancer then jumped to avoid an energy lance where its agility and strength was on full display as it grabbed the knight with the lance and hurled him through a closet door. He then shoulder slammed a Forever Knight into the ceiling and sidestepped an energy sword before clamping his large jaw onto the knight's body and rustling him around like a dog with a chew toy. The Forever Knight who had the unfortunate experience of knowing what a chew toy felt like was thrown into his friends. The armor on his body was caved in and crushed by the teeth and covered in drool.

Another touch of the Omnitrix and he transformed into Ghostfreak where he immediately possessed one of the last standing knights. He then charged at the last three standing knights, grabbed an energy lance off the ground and attacked. He slashed one knight in the leg and then smacked him in the head with the lance before hitting the other two in the stomach. Ghostfreak then jumped out of the possessed knight and unleashed his tentacles from underneath his primary skin at the last two knights and slammed them all around the room before throwing them into the ground. It was scary, powerful and sort of out of character for Will which made sense since Ghostfreak's usual yellow eye had shifted once again to purple indicating that someone else was in temporary control.

"Not much time." Ghostfreak hovered over to the barely functioning computer system and used the Forever Knights communications system to hijack the nearest satellite and send out a quick transmission deep into space. That's when he saw the Omnitrix begin blinking red. "Soon…"

A bright flash of red light and Will reappeared back in his armor. He swayed a bit but managed to steady himself and after a quick shake of the head he was good. "Whew, that was a new kind of strange." He commented unaware of what Ghostfreak did. He cracked his neck before taking out the Proto-box and downloading all the data this base had. Since this was just a small outpost meant for observation and recon there wasn't anything new this place had that the DEO didn't already know. And after a quick check with the outpost's database there weren't any alien artifacts or weapons. The only thing of note were intercepted communications between other chapters of the Forever Knights which meant that Enoch's group was speaking to other groups around the world. Hearing a slight shuffle and metal click behind him, he quickly ducked and rolled to the side to avoid a bullet to the back of the head.

One of the Forever Knights managed to regain consciousness and tried to kill the intruder with his pistol but missed. Will slid forward and kicked out one of the knight's legs, grabbed his wrist and did a wrist lock twist making him drop the pistol before kneeing him in the side of the head. The knight fell on his back as Will then slip flipped onto his stomach and then ripped his mask off before throwing out four punches to his face. By this point thanks to the metal of the armor and enhancing his strength, the knight's face was bloody with a broken nose, two black eyes, a busted lip, and a lot of pain. "You're dead, you hear me?!" The knight shouted only to get punched one more time.

"Where's Enoch?" Will asked him.

"I'm not telling you anything and nothing you say will change my mind." The knight called his bluff. He then smirked and spit out some blood before he began speaking Russian. "You won't even be able to understand me."

Will needed to bluff harder and given what these assholes nearly did at his Junior Prom, the innocent people who could have gotten hurt and his dad getting in trouble…he decided to get some answers. He tightened his grip on the man's collar and pulled him closer before adjusting his voice modulator so the baritone was lower and had a vibration effect to it so it was intimidating. "I can…and I will make you talk." Will replied in Russian and the man started to sweat. (3)

"AAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHH!"

A few hours later…

The Forever Knights of the base were restrained and dragged back up to the surface by Will. One of the knights faces was a bloody mess and looked like the aftermath of a bad fight where he got the crap beaten out of him which is kind of what happened. Will's interrogation method was unrefined, sloppy, and filled with anger because it wasn't an actual interrogation and more just him beating the man and then breaking his wrist until the pain was too much and he started to talk.

Will finished dragging them out and dumped them on the dirt with a thud. He looked at the sorry state they were in and while he felt it was necessary…it didn't sit well in his stomach at the moment. Seeing how brutal he got with the knights gave him pause as he felt guilty now but when it was happening…it was just determination to get answers fueled by anger. Not that it did him any good since the knight didn't know where Enoch was. A small rumble was heard which knocked him out of his train of thought as the underground base imploded and was destroyed along with everything down there.

A part of him was ready to continue and head to the other bases but that's when he looked down at his hands and saw that they were still stained with a little blood from the intense beating he gave out and it scared him. They began shaking a bit before he clenched his fists and put them in his pockets. "That's enough for one night."

One quick flash of green light and he turned into XLR8 and sped away, taking the Forever Knights to a nearby police station. What he originally thought would be a night for answers turned into one of contemplation and self-reflection that would require him to ask questions repeatedly for the rest of his life if he wanted to keep the Omnitrix and working with the DEO. What is he willing to do to help people and what lines does he not cross?

The Next morning…National City

The early morning on a Saturday in National City much like it did every day but it was a big media day as the news had a field day given what happened last night. The second sighting of the mystery vigilante and his rescue of a Junior Prom and hotel from ten men dressed in knights armor. The men were taken into custody and were actually part of a larger group that was taken down earlier. The National City Police managed to identify the group as the Forever Knights who were an extremist paramilitary group obsessed with aliens. It wouldn't surprise anyone if Lex Luthor funded them. Still, it was a big news day as the arrival of a paramilitary group who hated aliens showing up in National City brought up a lot of questions which Catco media was quick to report on.

Will was jogging down the sidewalk this morning wearing athletic shorts and a tank top while listening to some calming music. What happened last night was still bothering him and it showed since he wasn't able to get a good night's sleep. When it was morning he went for a jog and a morning workout. He ran three miles and was walking his fourth when he stopped outside an electronics store and saw the TVs on display in the window were playing Catco news about the vigilante appearance last night only this time it would see that Catco head Cat Grant decided to name the vigilante. The headline for the news was Skullmaster saved hotel and its occupants.

"Skullmaster? Really?" Will muttered out loud.

"Agreed. It's a stupid name." He heard the electronic store employee remark as he was cleaning the window. "Suit's cool but the name is stupid."

"Not Cat Grant's best work." Will remarked as he continued his jog thinking to himself there was no way he was going by Skullmaster. Not even if Cat Grant paid for an endorsement of a billion dollars. He had self-respect.

After another mile he stopped at a crosswalk to catch his breath. The sun was hot so he was nice and sweaty which would make the later cold shower even better. That's when he got a phone call from Director Henshaw. "Hello?"

"Sorry to bother you, Will but we need to talk."

"It's fine, Director. I was out for a morning run. I'm guessing this has to do with the sudden data you got last night about the Forever Knights?"

"It is. How did you get this data?"

"From a Forever Knights outpost in the Colorado mountains." Will answered. "I went there last night and took it down. The Knights are in lockup by the police, the base was destroyed and all data was sent to the DEO. There weren't any alien artifacts or pieces of interest and not much new data except for some communications logs."

"You went by yourself? That was very dangerous."

"I know but I could handle it. They didn't see my face at all, I was in the armor. And none of them knew anything about Enoch."

"Will, look I get that you're upset about what happened with your dad but I hope you know I didn't do it out of spite."

"No, I know Director. It's not your fault. But the Forever Knights could have hurt a lot of people last night just to get to me and my dad stopped them. It's only fair that I continued where he left off so I took down one of their outposts." Will told him. "I had it handled, Director. I know I'm still young but the Knights aren't special forces, just idiot zealots in armor with tech too advanced for them."

"You running off on your own without backup or even telling me is the reason your father got in trouble."

"Like father like son, I guess. And I'm not DEO yet so it doesn't technically apply." Will pointed out. "Look, Director Henshaw I get that the DEO has run things a certain way and I'm still in high school but there's a lot of good I can do. I know you're looking out for me and I appreciate that. When I'm ready and legally allowed to I am more than ready to give it my all as an official DEO agent and will be the best I can but that's probably not gonna happen until I finish college. Until then I train, learn everything I can and not sit on the sidelines. There's a lot of good I can do whether it's with the DEO or as a superhero but I promise that nothing I do will ever compromise the DEO or its mission."

There was a brief moment of silence after Will's informal speech to Director Henshaw before he responded. "Guess you get your stubbornness and passion from your father as well."

"It's a trait I'm proud of and while it drove my mother insane…she loved it about him." Will muttered.

"You're technically right. You don't work for the DEO officially so I guess…so long as you keep your nose clean and not get yourself in trouble then we can't tell you to stop." Henshaw told him.

"Thank you, Director. But that doesn't mean I won't still work with the DEO on missions or for whatever you need." Will promised.

"And I appreciate that…Skullmaster." Henshaw replied and Will could tell he had a smirk on his face.

"That's definitely not sticking." Will muttered. "I'll talk to you later, Director."

"Tomorrow, meet me at the canyon. It's time for another training session with your Martian form anyways."

"Right. I'll be there." He hung up and continued on his way home where he took a nice cold shower and put on some fresh clothes. Afterward he texted Vic because he wanted to talk to him before they met up with everyone for lunch. Vic texted back that he'd meet him at JJ's Diner at 11 before everyone showed up at 12. Will walked out of his room and put on his jacket where he saw his dad reading the paper and sipping some coffee. "Hey, there's National City's newest superhero. Skullmaster."

"Funny but it's your armor so it's your new name." Max pointed out.

"Over my dead body that's sticking." Will pat his dad on the shoulder and walked to the door. "I'm heading out to meet with my friends."

"Ok, be careful with the car. We spent a month fixing it up so don't ruin it with one car crash." Max told him as Will walked out of the Condo and headed down to the garage where he saw his 1969 Chevrolet Camaro SS parked next to his dad's sedan. He got in and drove through the city to JJ's Diner and despite the fact that he could turn into XLR8 and literally fast enough that he was a blur on cameras there was something magical about being in the car.

He arrived at JJ's and parked his car before walking in where he saw Vic sitting at a table for seven so he joined him. "Hey, man." Will sat down across from Vic as a waitress came by and poured him a cup of coffee.

"What can I get you boys?" She asked.

"We're still waiting for the rest of our group." Vic told her.

"Ok. Let me know if you change your mind." She walked over to another table to take their order as Will poured some milk and sugar in his coffee.

"Thanks for agreeing to meet up with me." Will told him.

"No problem, man. I figured you'd want to talk." Vic replied. "This isn't the part where some men in black suits show up and drag me away or neuralize me so I forget what happened…is it?"

"As funny as I think that would be it would likely cause some brain damage and you're already at risk being on the field so I won't put you through that." Will joked, earning an amused smirk from Vic. "No, seriously…I just want to thank you for not ratting me out last night. Anyone else would have sold me out in a second."

"Oh, come on, man. We're friends. You know I've always got your back." Vic assured him as the two cheers their coffee mugs and sipped. "But seriously, dude. Those Forever Knights showing up? That was crazy."

"Yeah, not the prom night I thought it would have turned out to be. I had no idea they would show up at the hotel." Will remarked.

"I know I'm not as smart as my dad but I saw on the news that the Forever Knights are an alien crazy group. They showed up at the hotel looking for the watch on your wrist so I got to ask…"

"I human, Vic. Born and raised on earth in Midvale and I can get you my birth certificate or a sample of my blood if you want to have your dad test it?" Will wondered. "They were after the watch because it is alien. And this is not the first night I've had an encounter with them."

"And by encounter I'm guessing…they've come after you before? Is that why you moved here? A sort of witness protection thing? You need to keep moving so they don't find you kind of situation?" Vic asked.

"No. True, me moving here had to do with the watch but the other times I've encountered the Forever Knights it's…more me having gone after them and ruining their plans. They showed up in National City last night as revenge to try and track me down and take the watch. I've been a headache for them in the past." Will explained.

"Whoa…no way, dude. Are you a superhero?" Vic asked him in amazement.

"Not really sure how to answer that. It's complicated." Will answered. "Vic, look I appreciate you not ratting me out but you can't tell the others. It's too complicated and it could get them in trouble or put them in danger."

"No problem, man. My lips are sealed, I swear." Vic promised. "You can put that notch in my column if you decide to take me on as your partner."

"Vic…"

"I know, I know. You're still working it out and you're just beginning but it always helps to have someone in your regular life to help with your superhero life. I could be your guy in the chair." Vic suggested.

"My guy in the chair?"

"You know. All superheroes have those people who back them up at their secret hideouts with computers and stuff. I could be that guy or I could help you in the field?" Vic suggested.

"How about we settle for staying as friends and if you ever need anything don't hesitate to call?" Will counter suggested.

"Eh…I'll take it." Vic replied as the two talked before the rest of their friends showed up for lunch. They hung out, ate, and despite last night's events they were able to move past it. Will was slightly concerned about someone in his regular life knowing about him and the Omnitrix but he trusted Vic and he had a point. Having someone in his regular life who knew about it could prove useful. Who knows? Maybe Vic would be a superhero himself one day.

Outer Space

On an alien spaceship traveling through the galaxy three alien mercenaries were grouped together for a possible mission that would pay them quite well. The three aliens were vastly different from one another. One was fairly humanoid in appearance except for the hooved feet and longer arms. This was SixSix, a genetically mutated Sotoraggian from the planet Sotoragg and one of the finest bounty hunters in the galaxy. He had purple armor all over his body and head with a special pack on his back that had a variety of armaments and tools for his missions. The next alien was more mechanical in nature with the heavy armor and cybernetic legs and giant claw on its left arm. This was Kraab, a cybernetically-enhanced Piscciss Premann and like his name resembled a fiddler crab with goldish, brown-colored armor, a sideways mouth, four scythe-like legs and a large powerful pincer for a left hand. The last mercenary was wearing black armor with a helmet on his head so there wasn't any visual clue as to what he was but he had a belt with a variety of weapons and an energy pistol.

The three aliens were gathered for a mission and their employer walked into view. He was an odd alien looking sort of like Humpty Dumpty but without legs as he was floating in the air. Its face didn't seem to give any indication of his tone but his clothing was very formal. This was the Preserver, an alien creature who runs a cosmic zoo that houses the rarest creatures in existence: each was the last of its kind and he assembled the aliens in front of him for a gathering mission.

"I am the Preserver. I have brought you three here for a job suited for your skills." The Preserver led them down a hall of glass tubes and domes which were display cases for various alien creatures. "Behold. Gathered here are the rarest creatures in the universe. Each the last survivor of its race. Many years ago, the planet Krypton was destroyed. I have long believed that all of the Kryptonian race were extinct until I found evidence of one living on a distance world called earth."

The Preserver had one of his robots hand out three interplanetary messaging devices shaped like small pucks which were commonly used to access intergalactic networks associated with bounties and targets. They were more commonly known as bounty pucks. The three mercenaries pressed the center button and a holographic image of Superman appeared.

"Looks like a regular human to me." Kraab stated.

"He is more than he appears." The Preserver then made a large box Taydenite appear. It was a glowing bluish-greenish gem that was one of the most precious and rarest gems in the entire universe. It was practically indestructible and valued throughout the stars as a form of currency and the cheap stuff was often refined and turned into Taydens which were a basic monetary unit used throughout the universe. This however was unrefined Taydenite which was a hundred times more valuable than the refined version. The large box that appeared in front of them was enough to buy a planet. "This plus another box awaits the one who returns to me with the Kryptonian."

SixSix pulled out a pair of energy guns and let out some garbled speech. Translation: Sounds like fun.

The three mercenaries quickly left the ship and made their way to earth. The Preserver was about to go about his business when his scanners picked up an incoming vessel approaching. It was the fourth bounty hunter and the vessel was an alien motorcycle.

Earth, National City May 2008

Will had gone to the canyon out by the desert which was a good 100 miles from National City and 25 miles from the DEO desert base. He was out in the desert with Director Henshaw for another training session with his Martian form and they couldn't exactly do this at the DEO since no one there knew J'onn J'onzz. Will activated the Omnitrix and turned the dial until he arrived at the silhouette of Manhunter before pressing it down. A flash of green light later and he transformed into the tall, muscular green skinned Martian. J'onn then shifted from Hank Henshaw into his Martian form as well.

"You've gotten a handle on the intangibility and invisibility so today we'll work on your shapeshifting abilities." J'onn held his left arm out and it stretched out to the side where he picked up a large boulder. He hurled it at Will who quickly punched it to pieces only for a monstrous four legged alien spider with a large sharp mouth and various pincer like mandibles to appear. It charged and tackled him to the dirt. Manhunter held it back with his Martian strength before turning intangible so he phased through it and flew away. The alien arachnid then morphed into purple alien octopus with two heads and 24 tentacle arms. J'onn lashed out several of the tentacles and managed to grab Will before pulling him to the ground. "Shapeshifting is one of the Martian's greatest tools and its limits are only your imagination but requires control to be done right. Elongating your body or growing extra arms in battle is one thing but changing our appearance is more complicated yet useful."

"Arachnid warrior bug from Starship Troopers?"

"It was on TV last night." J'onn replied as he changed back to his Martian form. "Start off simple by trying to stretch your body or arms. Relax your mind."

Will nodded and took a deep breath before he held out his arms out to a nearby rock to grab it. Nothing seemed to happen for a few seconds until his arms started to wiggle a bit. "Man, this is harder than it looks." He remarked.

"It's actually quite simple. Just feel your arms stretch out. Concentrate yet keep relaxed." J'onn instructed him.

"Kind of a contradiction, isn't it?" He pointed out, taking another deep breath and slowly his arms did begin to stretch forward and elongate. They stretched out about three feet from his body when his arms fell to the ground like a balloon without air complete with the sound effect as well. "That's disappointing."

J'onn watched as Will's arms retracted into his body. "Again, but don't rush it. If you rush or try to force it then you'll lose focus."

"Right. Keep focus but also keep calm. How does that work exactly?" He asked him.

"It's about balance and equilibrium. A Martian's mind is his greatest weapon so if it is scrambled or unfocused then the rest follows." J'onn explained. "Put your mind into a relaxed state. Think of a memory…one that keeps you calm."

"Calm memory…ok." He closed his eyes and took a deep breath before holding out his arms and trying again. His arms slowly stretched out to the rock but were steadier whereas before they would tremble. He kept his focus by keeping his mind occupied with a memory of him, his mom, and his dad hanging out at the beach when he was ten. It was one of his fondest memories and while it reminded him that his mother would pass away three years later from cancer…the memories that forever laid in his mind would never forget how loving and caring she was.

J'onn could feel the psychic energy Will was producing tapping into his memories and it made him feel the same sadness, happiness, and love he did. "That's it. Focus on this feeling…" He opened his eyes and found his arms had stretched out farther than where the boulder was and he could still control them. "Well done."

The beep and red blink of the Omnitrix interrupted the mood and after a flash of red light Will had transformed back. "I remember that day but…it was so much more powerful than before."

"That's comes with the territory of the Martian mind." J'onn said as he shapeshifted back into Hank Henshaw. "It's a powerful part of who you are now. Martians have years of growing up and learning how to use it properly but you were chucked into the deep end."

"Seems to be kind of my life now." Will remarked as J'onn went over to a cooler and took out two bottles of water.

"But you're doing well for a beginner. We'll continue when the Omnitrix charges up again." J'onn said.

"Thanks." He replied. "J'onn can I ask you a question?"

"Sure. What is it?"

"We've been training my Martian form since I first unlocked it but all we've done is focused on flying, the super strength, intangibility, invisibility, and now the shapeshifting. Is there a reason we have tackled the telepathy and telekinesis?" He wondered.

"Yes." J'onn admitted. "As you remember from our mind meld…the White Martians were…barbaric and unrelenting in their search for my kind. They could track us whenever we used our telepathy. A sort of Martian homing beacon. When I came to earth I avoided using my telepathy as much as I possibly could to avoid bringing the White Martians here."

"So, if I use it it'll bring them here." Will muttered. "I'm sorry for bringing up a sore spot, J'onn."

"It's all right."

"But I promise that if a White Martian ever does show up then it'll be the biggest mistake of its life. He'll get an Omnitrix beating and then when I figure out how the rest of this watch works, we'll head back to Mars and make them pay. I promise." Will swore and J'onn admired his determination. That's when they heard some beeping coming from the bag next to the cooler so J'onn checked and it was the Proto-box. "What is it?"

"Our deep space sensors picked up something closing in our solar system." J'onn checked the scans and whatever was heading to earth was moving fast and just passed Saturn and was nearly finished passing Jupiter. "Whatever it is, it's moving fast and heading for earth."

"Is it a meteor?" Will asked.

"No, it's got a power system and engines so it's a space ship. Hang on. DEO satellites are triangulating its projected course." J'onn watched the Proto-box go through various deep space scans and calculations based on the vessels path, power source, light trail, and current course heading. "93% chance it's heading straight for Metropolis."

"Whoever they are they're after Superman. I'll head there now and figure out what's going on." Will pressed his buckle and activated his armor.

"I'll head back to the DEO and get strike teams ready as quickly as possible." J'onn told him.

"Keep me updated if it makes a sharp turn." Will said as his helmet and hood came over his head.

"Will do. Be careful. We don't know who we could be dealing with." J'onn warned him.

"Roger that." Will activated his flight wings, jet pack and jet boots and flew into the air before course correcting to Metropolis. He used his armor until the Omnitrix recharged and then he'd go XLR8.

Metropolis

Playfully dubbed the City of Tomorrow, Metropolis was one of the biggest cities in the US home to over 11 million people and many of the country's important businesses and titans of industry. One of their most infamous was Alexander Lex Luthor, CEO of Luthorcorp. He was one of the world's billionaire corporate giants and while he put on the façade and face of man of the people and the prime example of what humanity can be and what it should aspire to, that wasn't the entire truth. Luthor was a power-hungry and sadistic egomaniac and sociopath. If he was once a good person then it's long gone as he now sees people as nothing more than tools to be manipulated or enemies to be destroyed. He views himself as the very best of humanity and even built Luthorcorp tower and his office at the top floor just so he could oversee and be above everyone else. That went to its extreme when Superman arrived in Metropolis.

Luthor views Superman as humanity's greatest enemy and he was not humanity's savior. Superman kept humanity weak and an obstacle in progress and it's only Lex that can save them from this alien conqueror. Despite Superman being on Earth to protect mankind, Luthor will stop at nothing to stop him and prove that he is better than him in every shape and form and then he will work towards the betterment of mankind. Luthor's fears on the alien were likely stemming from the mind of an egomaniac but most of Metropolis saw Superman as a hero. Luthor wasn't one of them. He's worked several times to try and take Superman down but has never been successful. Superman still vexes him yet Luthor has not seen the inside of a jail cell as he is very smart.

But Luthorcorp and Superman weren't the only draws to Metropolis. It had a lot of famous landmarks, excellent real estate, various corporations, and businesses like Amertek and Kord Industry subsidiaries and of course, the Daily Planet. The famous newspaper empire in Metropolis with its iconic globe statue with the words Daily Planet resting on the top of the skyscraper. The paper had produced millions of stories over its run including several Pulitzer prize winning exposes like the government corruption, gang warfare, international politics, war time tragedies and atrocities, local drug empires, gun smuggling operations and most famously was the paper that produced the first clear image of Superman.

Inside the Daily Planet on its busy 45th floor was one employee in particular. Clark Kent, Daily planet reporter who had written his fair share of great stories for the paper. Clark was a seemingly uninteresting man with combed back hair, suit and tie, glasses, and a general mild-mannered personality. He was a good reporter but not that interesting. Of course, that was to the public as Clark Kent was really Superman. This was just his day job. Clark was working on a story about Intergang's latest hostile takeover of gang territory in the city when he heard the click of heels and a copy of the Daily Planet published this morning landed next to his computer. It's headline read Corruption in the Mayor's Office: Puppet for Intergang complete with an excellent photo of the Mayor of Metropolis meeting with the head of Intergang, Bruno Manheim.

Clark looked over and saw who dropped it off. It was Lois Lane, ace reporter for the Planet and his girlfriend. Standing next to her was Daily Planet's Photojournalist, James Jimmy Olsen. Lois and Clark had been dating for a few months now and it was going ok despite the headaches his dual life afforded him. He was contemplating if he should tell her the truth and he still wasn't sure of his decision yet. (4)

"It was good story, Lois." Clark told her.

"Thanks, Smallville. Perry thinks so to. The Mayor didn't but he's too busy being investigated by the police, FBI, and the SEC to care. I knew there was no way the Mayor wasn't on the take when I saw him in that Ferrari." Lois remarked as she looked back at Jimmy who was cleaning his camera lens.

"You mean when I saw him in his Ferrari?" Jimmy corrected her.

"Semantics. I still can't believe that he thought he'd be able to keep this a secret. Just goes to show how stupid men can be." Lois joked.

"I'll try not to take that personally." Clark remarked as Daily Planet Editor in Chief Perry White walked out of his office.

"Kent, where are you on that Intergang piece?" Perry asked him.

"I'm still working on it, Mr. White. I've got some leads I can follow up on." Clark replied.

"Well, get to it." White told him as his assistant walked over to have him sign some papers. Clark grabbed his file on the Intergang turf war when his super hearing picked up a loud distant boom. Said boom was the atmospheric entry of three large meteors heading towards Metropolis and while they looked like they were going to crash in the city, their course adjusted so they were going to land in the ocean. Unfortunately, one of the meteors flew close to an airplane and clipped the tail fin causing it to shake and the impact made it lose control and avionics.

Clark rushed over to the window as he and the others saw the plane flying down and looking like it was going to crash. He was about to walk away to change when everyone heard a sonic boom and something super-fast flew past the building with the shockwave causing the glass to crack.

"It's Superman!" one of the mail clerks shouted.

"Jimmy, come on!" Lois grabbed her purse and ran outside with Jimmy right behind her.

"But…I'm right here." Clark muttered.

The thing that was flying at Mach 7 over Metropolis was actually Will who changed into Ultraman. He had flown about halfway to Metropolis in his armor when the watch cooled down so he changed into XLR8. That's when he saw the plane heading to the ground so he changed to Ultraman to catch up with it and keep it from crashing. While his control of heat vision and super breath were still questionable…he could fly.

Ultraman arrived alongside the plane and saw the destroyed tail fin so he grabbed onto the side before touching the Omnitrix and turning into Upgrade, quickly merging with the plane before he was blown off. The pilots and passengers of Metropolis Air Flight 809 were all panicking as their normal, happy plane ride suddenly turned into a nightmare with the plane taking a nose dive to the ground after something hit it and caused a problem with its system. The pilots were trying to steady the plane and doing everything in their power and training to prevent the worst from happening but it would seem they didn't have time. That's when they noticed some kind of green colored liquid metal take control of their board and controls.

"Not to worry, Captain and co-pilot. I'll take it from here." Upgrade told them as he had encompassed the entire Boeing 737 and turned it from a regular airplane into a modified alien warship airplane complete with new hover jets and a fixed tail fin. He adjusted the course of the plane and used the new hover jets he sprouted to level it out. Everyone in the plane felt it slowing down and even out which was a good sign. The plane's PA system then dinged as Will's voice came over the intercom. "Uh…good afternoon everyone. Apologies for the inconvenience and scare. We uh…had some unexpected turbulence but we're all good now. We are heading back to the Metropolis airport where…you can all take a moment to rest from this trying event and the airline will do its best to put you on the next flight to your destination. Once again…you have our apologies."

Will even made his voice sound like it was coming over a plane intercom system for a little humor. When would he ever get the chance to bond with an airplane again? He piloted it back to Metropolis airport where he hovered down to a spot near the tarmac. The FTA and Metropolis Police had gathered when they got word from the pilots about the crash in their systems. Once the plane touched down, the doors opened up and the inflatable emergency slides popped out before Upgrade separated from the aircraft and appeared back on the roof. Once quick touch of the Omnitrix, green flash of light later and he was gone before the police or news helicopters could see anything.

XLR8 appeared on the rooftop of a building a few blocks from the airport before he touched the Omnitrix and was back as Will in his armor. He saw more police and emergency services arrive including news reporters and such. His Hud alerted him of something closing in and he saw it was Superman who landed down next to him. "Mr. Superman? Hey, how's it going?" Will asked, deactivating his voice changer since Superman knew who he was and it wasn't necessary. He wasn't intimidating anyone at the moment.

"Just Superman is fine, kid. You can calm down." He assured him and Will took a deep breath to try and relax. Even though they had already met the giddiness he felt when he saw Superman still lingered. If his dad or anyone from the DEO saw him now then they would never let him live it down. "Good job with the plane. I was about to handle it when I saw you fly by."

"No problem. I was already on my way here when I saw it take a nose dive. I can cross that off my bucket list." Will remarked.

"Already on your way? Is something wrong?" Superman asked.

"I hope not but the DEO deep space sensors picked up a ship coming to earth and its most likely landing point is Metropolis." He told him.

"Why would it come—" Superman stopped speaking as his head perked up and he looked towards downtown. "Something's happening."

He flew away with a sonic boom that blew back the hood on Will's helmet. "Guess that means they showed up." He activated his flight wings and followed him.

Superman landed on main street in downtown at an intersection to see a large impact crater, some destroyed cars, one that was on fire and some destruction but no one was injured. With no clear sign of what happened, Superman used his X-ray vision to see if he could spot something when the ground began to rumble like there was an earthquake. The road cracked apart like something was digging through the ground before a large golden metal claw shot out followed by the rest of the Kraab. This gave Superman a good look at the alien robot that arrived while Kraab looked over the Kryptonian and wasn't impressed.

"So, you're what's known as a Kryptonian? You look just like a regular human to me." Kraab remarked as he held up his metal claw. "Now here's the deal. Come with me quietly or else things will go badly for you."

"I don't know who you are or I'm not going anywhere with you. Now, surrender peacefully before this gets out of hand. You have no idea who you're messing with." Superman warned him.

"I was just about to say the same thing." Kraab raised his claw and fired a powerful red energy beam that hit Superman square in the chest and sent him into a car. "Guess you're as arrogant as you are ugly."

Superman groaned in pain as he rubbed his chest and saw blood dripping down his nose. "How…"

"A good bounty hunter studies his target. Made some modifications to my blaster so it emits red sun radiation. With this, you're nothing more than a measly human." Kraab mocked, charging up another blast when something hit his claw so the energy beam was knocked off target and blasted a fire hydrant. Kraab looked up and saw Will flying down in his armor as he caught the shield and drop kicked the mechanical alien in the face causing it to stumble back. He then spun around and used his wings to bash the mechanical alien in the face before punching it in the chest with his shield only to hear a clang. Kraab was less than amused as the shield punch just scuffed his armor so he punched Will in the chest and sent him skidding across the ground. "More stupid humans for me to deal with."

Superman got up and rushed over, throwing a punch to one of Kraab's legs only to recoil in pain. It felt like he broke his hand as the red sun laser temporarily cut off his powers. Kraab turned and knocked back Superman with his large claw, sending him crashing into the side of a building before he fired a brown goo from his claw that ensnared him in place. "Hardly worth the hunt." Kraab commented.

"Hey, crab cake!"

Kraab turned his head and got hit in the face with the shield before it bounced back to Will's hand. Kraab raised his claw and fired three energy beams so Will had to jump and sidestep them as he kept charging. He raised his shield which deflected the fourth black back at him, knocking the alien back. Will's Hud planned out the most successful counter attack just as Kraab pulled out the energy sword from his back and leapt at him. He slid on the ground to avoid the sword before throwing his shield so it knocked the energy sword out of Kraab's hands. Will then raised his forearm gauntlet and fired a barrage of explosive disks that pelted the mechanical alien and created a huge cloud of smoke. He caught his shield and rushed over to Superman, pulling out and activating his sword which he used to slowly cut the goo off.

"Damn, this stuff is tough." Will remarked, managing to cut through a small piece of it but it was like trying to cut through slime with a spoon.

Superman struggled to get free as he felt his strength returning slowly but the goo would deform and stretch with his movements. He focused his heat vision to try and melt some of the goo but it was returning slowly and its intensity wasn't strong enough. That's when he heard the mechanical clank and saw Kraab walk out of the smoke with some scratches, dents, and scorch marks. "Watch out!"

Will turned and quickly ducked to avoid another energy blast before rolling to the side and then moving into several flips and spins as Kraab tried to hit him. He raised his shield and deflected an energy blast back at Kraab but its armor was able to take the hit. "Ok, I've gone from mildly inconvenienced to annoyed now."

"Guess that must be my specialty." Will remarked as he fired a dart at the ground which exploded into a cloud of thick smoke.

"That's not gonna work on me. I see you." Kraab said switching to a backscatter mode that allowed him to see through the smoke and not lose trace of the human.

"Then you're gonna get one hell of a show." Will activated the Omnitrix and slammed the dial down. After a flash of green light, Ripjaws appeared in his place. "Ripjaws? I needed Four Arms."

"A Piscciss Volann?" Kraab was confused but quickly fired another energy blast that Ripjaws managed to roll to the side to avoid at the last second. Ripjaws stumbled on the street before he touched the Omnitrix on his shoulder and quickly transformed into Four Arms. He charged forward and punched Kraab in the face and chest which sent him skidding back into a parked car. Kraab then jumped into the air avoid Four Arms leap that smashed the car in two before he fell down and punched the Tetramand with his claw. Four Arms staggered a bit before he caught Kraab's claw that was aimed at his head. "Now a Tetramand? Just what are you?"

"I'm complicated." Four Arms picked him up and hurled him down the street where he crashed into an empty taxi. With Kraab momentarily dealt with he jumped over to Superman and began to rip the goo off him one by one unaware that the bounty hunter in the black armor was watching him from a rooftop nearby and was intrigued by his transformation and the symbol on his shoulder. Four Arms managed to remove about 70% of the goo when he was blasted in the back by a powerful energy beam and slammed into the side of a building. Tetramands were tough but that energy blast actually hurt. Kraab was back, now hovering in the air with his legs transformed into hover jets.

"I'm not sure what you are human but I think you'll fetch a good price to the right buyer." Kraab switched his claw gun to containment mode as Superman melted the goo with his heat vision coming back. Just as Kraab was about to fire, a shadow above him caught his attention.

"HAAAA!" A female war cry was heard before Kraab was struck in the side by a spiked metal mace and sent hurling through the air like a baseball. Four Arms and Superman looked up to see who attacked Kraab and got their answer in the winged Thanagarian Hawkwoman. According to some witness statements and rumors, Hawkwoman just showed up one day over New York city by accident via a wormhole and ever since then she's been helping people. Her most eye-catching feature were the two large bird-like wings on her back and the giant metal mace she had in her hand. She had long flowing red hair but you couldn't see her face since she was wearing a black and gold bird like helmet. She had brown and gold boots that matched with her green and gold Thanagarian armor skinsuit complete with the hawk symbol on her harness. She had long green and gold gloves complete with studded points on the knuckles and her iconic spiked mace. Her mace and all the metal on her armor was made of Thanagarian Nth metal like Will's armor so it was protective but also granted her other abilities like her flight and super strength. She was a fierce warrior and acted sort of like a cop so the question now was why she was here. (5)

"Looked like you two could use a hand." Hawkwoman remarked as she hovered down and landed next to Superman. She held up her mace which sparked with electricity before bringing it down on the goo still holding him and it was vaporized.

"Thanks." Superman stood up and brushed off some of the goo from his shoulder. Hawkwoman looked over and saw the Tetramand, confused why one of them was on earth before he touched the symbol on his shoulder. One flash of green light later and the Tetramand was replaced with a human wearing armor.

"What the…" Hawkwoman was not expecting to see that. "Just what are you?"

"It's complicated." Will replied. "Wow, you're Hawkwoman. I'd thought you'd be taller?"

"Who is he?" Hawkwoman asked Superman.

"It's a long story." Superman told her.

"And kind of secret but we can discuss that another time. What are you doing here? I thought you stay in New York?" Will pointed out.

"My equipment picked up three bounty puck signatures entering the atmosphere and I tracked them down to here. That Piscciss Premann must have been one of them." She answered.

"Yeah, he said he was here for me." Superman told her.

"Wait, did you say three signatures?" Will asked her when his Hud alerted him to danger. "Get down!"

He activated the Omnitrix and erupted in a bright flash of green light just as a barrage of missiles and lasers struck them from the sky. Hovering in the air was SixSix who was wielding two laser pistols and had several rocket pods active on his armor's shoulder pads, arms, and jetpack. SixSix let out some garbled alien speech as he hovered down a little lower thinking he got the jump on the Kryptonian, Thanagarian, and human only for the smoke to dissipate so he could see a large dome of diamond crystals. Said dome then retracted to show Diamondhead having protected Superman and Hawkwoman from the missile and laser barrage.

"Now a Petrosapien? More and more curious." Hawkwoman remarked.

"I'm unique that way." Diamondhead remarked as his hands changed into sharp diamond blades. Superman flew up and uppercut SixSix into the air as the alien bounty hunter course corrected and fired a barrage of lasers that caused him to flinch and stagger. The lasers were easily more powerful than standard human weapons. Hawkwoman flew up to help him and Diamondhead was about to change when he felt some rumbling in the ground and saw Kraab emerge from the concrete.

"Now, I'm gonna make sure that this hurts." Kraab held a piece of gravel in his claw and crushed it like it was nothing.

"Tough talk, Mr. Krabs."

Diamondhead slammed his fist into the ground and make a crystal fissure that Kraab easily bashed through before trying to grab him. He knocked the claw aside and slashed Kraab a few times with his diamond blade and then punched him in the face only for Kraab to grab him by the waist with his claw. He picked him up and bashed him into the ground a few times before throwing him down the street. Diamondhead got back to his feet and fired a barrage of crystals that Kraab swatted away with his energy sword and fired a blue beam from his claw. He created a crystal shield to block it but the second the beam contacted the crystal it released a powerful and loud sonic cry that made him cover his ears and cracked part of his crystal body.

"Ugh…" Diamondhead fell to his knees in pain as Kraab walked over.

"Sonic disruptor beam. Perfect for prey like you. I'm not sure what you are human but I know the Preserver will pay a nice price for you." Kraab raised his claw to take him out when a small orb rolled on the ground and released a thick cloud of smoke. Kraab backed up and covered his face as the armored bounty hunter flew down on a hoverboard, grabbed Diamondhead by the back and carried him away. Once the smoke was gone, Kraab saw his prey was gone. That's when he heard some explosions up above and saw SixSix tangling with Superman and Hawkwoman and surprisingly keeping them on edge. "That's my prize!" Kraab transformed his legs into hover mode and flew after them to make sure SixSix didn't take his target and get the money.

The armored bounty hunter flew through the city carrying Diamondhead before throwing down in a parking lot. Their sudden arrival caused all the civilians to run away scared as Diamondhead was starting to heal. "Ugh…that was a new kind of pain."

"Trillions of beings in the universe and the Omnitrix winds up on the hands of an inexperienced human." The bounty hunter remarked.

"I'm just that lucky, I guess. Who the hell are you and how do you know about the Omnitrix?" He asked him.

"I know more about the Omnitrix then I doubt you do. It utilizes alien DNA to bond to the hosts genetic structure which means its stuck on you. And seeing how you fought before shows me that you only choose your aliens based solely on strength without regard for any strategy. Do you ever pause to consider your actions at all?" The bounty hunter asked.

"I'm not a child and I know what my aliens can do. I've used them plenty of times before and won my fights."

"Such as your recent success against one of the bounty hunters here for the Kryptonian. Very impressive." The Bounty hunter remarked with sarcasm.

"Why am I even talking to you? They're after Superman and I need to help him." Diamondhead got up and tried to walk past him only to get shoved back. "Which begs the question what makes you different then the other two."

"I guess you can use that brain of yours. Yes, I might look like a common bounty hunter but I never intended to collect on the prize the Kryptonian had on his head. I was going to stop the others and turn them in until I saw the Omnitrix. Now, I need to make sure it stays safe at all costs. Since it's attached to you I guess I'll have to bring you back for its removal."

"That's not gonna happen." Diamondhead told him.

"It's not your choice to make."

"It is now." Diamondhead touched the Omnitrix and in flash of light he transformed into Manhunter and quickly flew away, turning invisible so the Bounty Hunter couldn't see him.

"Stupid human." The bounty hunter muttered before taking out a scanner to track him down.

Superman punched SixSix into the air and followed that up with another uppercut that sent him flying air only for the alien bounty hunter to course correct and fire a barrage of missiles that caused him to stagger. While he was staggered, Kraab flew over to him and grabbed his head with his claw before taking him to the ground and slamming him into the pavement. Kraab quickly turned to block Hawkwoman's mace and pushed her away as SixSix blasted her in the back and sent her to the ground.

"We were here for the Kryptonian. Not sure what the Preserver would want with a Thanagarian but maybe we'll find someone who'll take you." Kraab raised his claw only for him and SixSix to get pushed back by an invisible force. SixSix's visor began going through various vision modes and managed to see Manhunter's thermal trail so he opened fire. Manhunter in term flew up and disappeared in a flash of green light. "Where did he go?"

SixSix kept his blasters at the ready as Superman leaned out of the hole in the ground when Kraab suddenly began to jerk around and used his shorter hand to grab at his neck. "Hey, get off me you tiny little insect!"

Kraab was referring to Grey Matter who was currently rummaging through the mechanical alien's neck and messing with the wires. "That's the ocular maintenance board but there should be a nerve cluster in here somewhere."

Kraab began to spark with electricity as his body moved around erratically and even blasted SixSix in the face with his claw blasters. "AHH! OH! GET OFF!"

"One last wire should do the trick." Grey Matter reached down and picked out a few more wires before ripping them clean out. Kraab suddenly stopped and stood still before his head spun around like a top and his whole body dropped to the ground completely frozen. "One down, one more to go."

SixSix was facing off against Hawkwoman, using an energy dagger to parry her mace before slashing her in the side but her armor deflected the hit. She bashed him in the face twice before he kicked her back and then grabbed her, activating his jetpack, and taking her up. Superman saw Kraab was taken out but SixSix was still an issue. He was about to help when he saw the tiny alien walk over.

"Superman, how good is your throwing arm?" Grey Matter asked before pointing to SixSix. "Think you can nail a strike?"

Superman nodded and carefully picked up the little Galvan in his hands. "Brace yourself." Superman told him before he quickly threw him at SixSix.

Hawkwoman broke free of SixSix's grip and bashed him in the head with the pommel of her mace just as Grey Matter landed on his jetpack. "Guess who?"

"What are you doing?" Hawkwoman asked him as Grey Matter opened up a compartment on his jetpack.

"Wonder what will happen if I do…this!" Grey Matter ripped out a control circuit board causing SixSix's jetpack to power up and fly around erratically. SixSix had no control as Grey Matter flew him around, bashing him into a building a few times before skidding on the roof of another building and then taking a straight nosedive right at Superman. "Superman, batter up!"

Grey Matter jumped off as Superman reared his fist back to uppercut SixSix in the face, sending the alien bounty hunter likely into a low earth orbit. Hawkwoman floated down and landed next to him as they saw the tiny blip that was SixSix get smaller and smaller. "That look like it hurt." She commented.

"I hate this planet…" Kraab muttered before he was no longer able to speak as Grey Matter finished messing with his head.

"There. No audio chip, no more talking." Grey Matter tossed it aside and walked over to Superman and Hawkwoman.

"Not bad for a little guy." Hawkwoman remarked when the Omnitrix began blinking red and he turned back to normal. "You're just full of surprises."

"It would appear he is more than just a regular human." They heard and turned around to see the mystery third bounty hunter arrive on his hoverboard. Superman, Hawkwoman, and Will were ready to fight as the bounty hunter took out a gun with a weird spinning cube on the end. He held it up but rather than aim it at them he pointed it at Kraab. The small cube floated over and enlarged itself to swallow Kraab's body before it shrunk down to a small size with him in it.

"A containment cube. Who are you?" Hawkwoman asked him.

"Someone who will take the two bounty hunters to the proper authorities. But you and I still need to talk." He said, pointing to Will.

"And who exactly are you?" Will asked so the bounty hunter retracted his helmet to show his face and he looked exactly like Diamondhead. "You're a Petrosapien."

"I am Tetrax. I am what is known on your earth as a mercenary but not like these two. I work for the common good of the universe and at the moment, it involves making sure the Omnitrix stays safe." Tetrax stated as Hawkwoman looked down at the watch on Will's wrist.

"That's the Omnitrix? I didn't even know it was on earth." Hawkwoman said in shock.

"What's the Omnitrix?" Superman asked as Will looked up.

"That's a conversation we should have but hold that thought and everyone take a few steps back." He did followed by Tetrax, Superman and then Hawkwoman as SixSix slammed into the ground in front of them. The impact crater was large and the impact itself was likely very painful as SixSix's armor was broken and destroyed while the alien himself was unconscious. Tetrax used another containment cube to secure SixSix when he saw the DEO VTOLs closing in.

"Will, give us a status update." Director Henshaw radioed in.

"Uh, well the situation is sort of resolved but…I think we need to go somewhere we can talk in private. I think we have someone who can tell us more about the watch." Will radioed back.

Line Break xxxxx

Outskirt of Metropolis

A DEO team went into the city of Metropolis to make sure there was nothing alien left behind by the bounty hunters just as the police and first responders took care of the rest. There were a few injuries but no deaths so that was good but now they were dealing with Tetrax. Director Henshaw set up a temporary operating base in the woods outside of Metropolis so that they could speak. Will was with him along with Superman and Hawkwoman. Normally, they wouldn't even be here but given they were on scene for what went down then Director Henshaw wanted them involved in the debrief as well.

Everyone was gathered around a table where there was a small plate of donuts in the middle. No one seemed to do anything until Hawkwoman reached forward and took a donut.

"So…Tetrax, let's start with the obvious question. Why should we believe that your story when you came down here with the other two bounty hunters?" Director Henshaw asked him.

"It's true I did arrive here on earth with the other two bounty hunters as part of job to capture the Kryptonian for someone calling himself the Preserver but I had no intention of capturing him. I was going to capture the other two bounty hunters and turn them in to the proper authorities but that changed when I saw the human with the Omnitrix." Tetrax said, looking at Will who was still wearing his armor. "I first picked up its unique energy signature when I arrived on earth. It just so happened to be in the same vicinity as the Kryptonian so I stayed back and watched to get a better sense of what was going on."

"You could track the Omnitrix?" Will asked.

"It has a very unique energy signature that I was able to detect. I have been looking for the Omnitrix for quite a while." Tetrax stated.

"I've heard about the Omnitrix but I didn't think it was on earth." Hawkwoman remarked as she looked the watch on Will's wrist. "How did you get it?"

"It's crashed down to earth and latched itself onto my wrist. How do you two know about the Omnitrix?" Will asked them.

"Tales have sprung across the galaxy about the most powerful weapon in the universe created by a being known as Azmuth. No one knows for sure who he is or even what planet he's on but rumors have spread he created a weapon that would allow its user to transform into any species in the universe. A lot of powerful and dangerous people have been searching to get their hands on it but no one has seen Azmuth or the Omnitrix…until now." Tetrax explained.

"Before I arrived on Earth, I heard the same stories. To be honest, a lot of people think the Omnitrix is nothing more than a myth since no one's ever seen it. That hasn't stopped a lot of intergalactic warlords or conquerors from searching for it." Hawkwoman added. "But they'd never think to look for it someplace this far out in the Milky Way system."

"Well, guess that's one perk to being on earth if no one will think to look for it here." Will remarked. "But you're both wrong. Sure, the Omnitrix is powerful but it's not a weapon."

"How would you know?" Tetrax wondered.

"I'll let the watch explain." Will twisted the dial causing the face of the watch to blink. "Omnitrix, identify yourself."

"Omnimatrix. A portable library of intergalactic genetic data from various alien species across the entire universe allowing the user to transform into any alien species. Designed by Azmuth, the Omnitrix was design with the sole purpose of intergalactic peace by promoting inter-species understanding and allowing other beings to experience a different way of life. And as a repository for the DNA of over one million nine hundred, and fifteen genetic samples, the Omnimatrix serves as a method to preserve any alien species should they be rendered extinct and restore them to life."

"Wow. Talk about an important watch." Superman commented.

"How did you do that?" Tetrax asked him.

"The watch has a simple user interface system I activated when I first got it. Unfortunately, part of the memory core is damage but one of the last logs recorded was from Azmuth. He mentioned the growing concern of the High Breed in the Andromeda Galaxy. It might have been one of the reasons he created the watch." Will explained.

"Can you remove it?" Hawkwoman asked him.

"No, the function to do that is damaged. We tried to remove it by force and it didn't end so well." Will remarked.

"You are very smart for a child. I guess I was wrong about you." Tetrax admitted.

"I'm not a child." Will corrected him only for Tetrax to push a button on his scanner which released a signal that connected to Will's armor. A few seconds later, the armor retracted back into his buckle so everyone could see him.

"You're just a kid." Hawkwoman remarked.

"Told you so." Tetrax added.

"I'm not a kid, I'm 17. How did you do that to my armor?" Will asked Tetrax.

"A concentrated Tachyon burst transmission allowed me to connect to your armor's interface system. It was impressive. Your armor is likely one of the most advanced pieces of technology on the planet but it still has some work to be done." Tetrax pointed out. "But I was clearly wrong about you. You aren't just a child using the watch for simple whims."

"He's not. Ever since he has been given the watch he's been working with the Department of Extra-Normal Operations and has helped us protect the planet and people with it. It couldn't have found a better host." Director Henshaw added.

"Which begs the question what are you doing to do?" Superman asked Tetrax. The Petrosapien thought for a few moments before taking out a small metal puck and handing it to Director Henshaw.

"This is an interplanetary communications device. It will allow us to stay in contact. Should something happen or if I find out someone is heading to earth, I'll let you know. The Omnitrix is safe enough in your hands." Tetrax told Will before handing him his hoverboard as well. "And this may be of some use in the meantime."

"Don't you need this to get off the planet?" Will asked him.

"Not at all. Take care, human." Tetrax told him.

"It's Will." Will told him as Tetrax took a few steps back and activated his helmet before taking out a device. He began to glow red before he teleported away. "Teleporter? That's cool."

"Well, this has been both confusing yet enlightening." Hawkwoman remarked as Will looked over the new hoverboard to figure out how it worked.

"You sure we can trust Tetrax?" Henshaw wondered.

"If he really wanted the watch then he wouldn't have talked. He would have just taken me. He's on our side." Will pointed out. "Let's just hope that him and the other bounty hunters are the last visitors we get to the planet."

He had no idea how wrong he was as the next visitor was going to be a big and recurring pain in the ass. And he was showing up right now. With Tetrax gone, Hawkwoman was about to leave as well when she heard a beep from her belt. She took out a scanner which picked up a new atmospheric entry into the planet that was carrying a bounty puck. Superman's hearing picked up something closing in on earth so he flew up and away to see what it was.

"Guess, we've got another bounty hunter. Tetrax should have stuck around. You coming, kid?" Hawkwoman asked as she followed Superman.

"Looks like our work is just beginning. I want aerial teams up in the VTOLs and helicopters and ground teams ready to move in the city." Director Henshaw ordered as Will activated his armor again.

"I'll see what's going on and who showed up." Will told him, activating his flight wings.

"Be careful." Henshaw cautioned him as he took off.

Superman hovered high above his city and saw a large fireball falling from the sky but the fire soon dispersed so he could see an alien space craft that looked sort of like a motorcycle. Even had the sound of the engine but instead of wheels it had a rocket on the back. Riding on top of said space motorcycle was an alien biker. He was taller than Superman and built like a wrestler or like a 90s comic artist who wanted to make someone giant and edgy. He had flowing black hair, a beard, red eyes, and distinct black marks over his eyes. He was wearing gloves, spiked bracelets, and a black leather jacket with a grey wife-beater shirt underneath. He had black armored boots, knee pads with spikes, looked to be wearing jeans or some kind of similar alien equivalent and a belt with a skull on the buckle. (6)

"There you are." The alien remarked as he blew out some smoke from his cigar. "So, you're a Kryptonian? Guess the other mooks must have failed. All the better for me."

The alien threw out a black hook chain at Superman which wrapped around his left arm. Superman grabbed the chain with both hands and spun around twice, taking the alien with him before throwing him across the city. Said alien bounced off two buildings before crashing down into the street. Superman landed in the street and walked over to see the alien get up like it was nothing. "Who are you?" Superman asked.

"I'm sorry. Here's my card." The alien punched Superman in the face and sent him skidding into the pavement where he crashed to a stop against the side of a building. The alien smoked his cigar again as Superman groaned in pain. That punch actually hurt. "The name's Lobo. That's L as in lacerate, O as in obliterate, B as in disembowel and O as in…uh, I guess I can use obliterate twice. What do you think?"

Superman grabbed him by the jacket and picked him up. "I think you're a certifiable madman."

"Oh, that's so kind. Thanks." Lobo headbutted Superman and punched him in the face when Superman caught his kick and uppercut Lobo into the sky. Superman flew after him and proceeded to punch Lobo several times before throwing out another punch that was grabbed. "My turn!"

Lobo headbutted Superman, wrapped his chain around his neck and then dragged him back to the ground where the two crashed into an empty bus. He began beating the ever-living crap out of Superman but stopped after the 30th punch. "I got to say, Superman. That was fun while it lasted but the Main Main's got a job to do and it involves you staying alive. Lucky day."

"HEY!" Lobo turned around and got struck in the face by a shield which sent him crashing into a parked car. Superman groaned in pain as Will helped him out of the bus wreckage. "You ok?"

"I've been better." Superman replied as Lobo pulled himself out of the car which he kicked away like it was a piece of trash.

"I don't know who you are poozer but this ain't got nothing to do with you. Stay out of my way or this will hurt." Lobo warned him.

"Sorry, can't do that." Will replied as Lobo threw out his chain which he and Superman dodged. Will charged forward as Lobo threw his chain out again. He rolled to the side and threw his shield which hit Lobo in the face before he fired a barrage of explosive disks from his forearm launcher. When he was empty, he reloaded but saw that Lobo was fine and any scuffs or scratches quickly healed up.

"Ooohhh…that tickled. You entertain kiddy parties with those kinds of toys?" Lobo joked when the DEO VTOLs and helicopters arrived on the scene. "Whoa, who called for an audience? Ah, doesn't matter. I always perform better with a crowd."

"Gas!" Will shouted so the DEO pilots pressed switches on their weapons board and fired gas missiles at Lobo. Lobo tanked the hit but instead of the usual explosions the missiles erupted into a thick green gas that consumed him.

Superman and Will kept their distances and didn't see Lobo try to escape. A few seconds later when the gas dissipated, they saw him passed out on the ground. The DEO agents in the VTOLs roped down and set up in a circle around the downed alien as Superman and Will slowly walked over to check on him.

"What is it?" Will asked.

"I don't know. I've never seen an alien like this." Superman turned him over only for Lobo to smirk and give him a playful air kiss.

"Mmmwah, I love you to." Lobo then kicked Superman in the face, grabbed him by the cape and slammed him into Will. "First rule of hunting, Superdupe. Make the target come to you."

Hawkwoman then flew down and smacked him in the face with her mace twice that sent him into a streetlight. "Good advice."

Lobo just scratched his head before ripping the light pole out of the ground. "That's more like it!"

"Open fire!" Will shouted and the DEO began to blast Lobo with their plasma rifles. It was an intense field of fire and it was overwhelming as Lobo was blasted from all sides. The plasma rifles scorched and burned his skin with some of them even piercing his flesh but he wasn't going down. Lobo just reared light pole back and swung at some of the DEO only for Will to push them out of the way and get hit instead, knocked back down the street. One of the DEO agents threw a thermite grenade which exploded in Lobo's face, burning his hair and cigar before two agents threw restraint grenades and encased him in Stinkfly goo.

"That was my favorite cigar!" Lobo ripped free of the goo so everyone could see his injuries quickly heal up before he threw the light pole which hit some of the DEO before whipping out his chain hook and throwing it around. Several of the DEO agents were knocked around while the others began to fall back for cover. The attack choppers and VTOLs shot at Lobo with their miniguns and rockets but Lobo powered through them and put his thumb and index finger to his mouth. [Sharp whistle]

Lobo's space hog flew out of nowhere and barreled into one of the attack choppers sending it into a spin that would have crashed if Superman didn't catch it and put it down on the roof of a building. The space motorcycle flew down next to Lobo as he threw his hook chain at a DEO VTOL and slammed it into the ground before Superman and Hawkwoman flew over and punched him down the street.

Will rushed over to the crashed VTOL and opened the door to see the pilots and agents inside were seriously injured but alive. "Don't move." Will told them before contacting Director Henshaw. "Director Henshaw, whoever this Lobo is he's brushing off everything the DEO has. Keep everyone back at a safe distance. You can't risk getting close."

"Roger that. We're evacuating some wounded right now. Will, you need to stop him." Henshaw told him.

"Roger that." Will told him as some DEO agents rushed over to help the wounded. He activated his flight wings and flew over to help Superman who was currently in a brutal fist fight with Lobo after he threw Hawkwoman into a building.

Superman punched him in the gut, the face, and then began throwing out punches as super speed that knocked Lobo around for a bit before the Main Man grabbed both his arms and headbutted him. He then slammed him in the ground and stomped on his face a few times before wrapping his hook chain around his neck. Lobo jumped into the air and pulled Superman with him before slamming him to the ground only for Will to fly through the air and slice the chain with his sword so Superman was free. Hawkwoman then bashed Lobo in the face with her mace and knocked him into the air as Will flew around and spun flipped forward, using his wings to slam Lobo back to the ground.

Lobo got out of his impact crater as Will flew down at him with his sword. "Drop dead!" He impaled him in the chest with his sword managing to go through to the back only for Lobo to headbutt and punch him back into a car. Even with his armor protecting him from the fatal punch, the impact still hurt. He got out of the car wreckage and saw Lobo pull the sword out of his chest and then proceeded to eat it. "Seriously?"

"Mmmm, tasty." Lobo cracked his neck as his space hog arrived next to him.

Superman and Hawkwoman floated down next to Will as Lobo walked over to his bike and pulled out another cigar which he lit. "Dang, man. I've got say, I am impressed. Here I thought this bounty would have been boring but you managed to prove me wrong, dipstick. But as much fun as I'm having, I've got a job to do. You see. Someone's paying me a heap a cash for your carcass and the Main Man always delivers. Now, the more you move the worse it'll hurt so feel free to go crazy."

Lobo pulled out a pair of laser pistols from his bike and aimed them at the heroes. "I don't suppose you're willing to talk this over so we can avoid another fight?" Will wondered.

"Interested but…Nah!" Lobo fired an energy blast that made them scatter. "They don't call me the Main Man for nothing and the Main Man always delivers on his promise."

Lobo fired at Superman but he kept flying around as Hawkwoman flew over and smacked his guns away before kicking him in the face, and then bashing him down the street with her mace. Lobo got out of the ground and got a good look at Hawkwoman.

"Oh, pretty bird. Hello. If you ever want to know what's its like to have the wildest night of your life then hit me up. Why don't you show old Lobo just how classy you are?" Lobo asked only for Hawkwoman to hit him in the face with her mace. "Whoa! I like a babe that plays rough. Come on, let me have another. Right here."

Superman instead intervened and uppercut him into the air. "Dirty freegan, fragging, killfrak, raggin Bastich!" Lobo crashed through a building and landed on the roof of the Luthorcorp building.

"What's it gonna take to stop this guy?" Hawkwoman asked as Will activated the Omnitrix and spun through the various aliens.

"I'm not sure but we've got to at least get him away from the city." Will told her.

"I got it." Superman flew after him only for Lobo to jump off the Luthorcorp rooftop and slam him through the building. That would really piss of Luthor. Superman continued punching him only for Lobo to slap him in the ears and discombobulated him before kneed him in the face and punch him to the ground. As he was falling, he let out another whistle and his Space Hog flew over and caught him. Lobo revved it up as Hawkwoman charged but he turned around and fired the front facing missile which hit her and knocked her into the Will with both of them crashing onto the roof of a building.

"Time to liven' up the joint!" Lobo revved his engine as Superman flew into the air and led him away from the city. Lobo chased him, pulling out an alien rocket launcher with a blue glowing barrel and aimed it at him. "Smile, Dipstick."

Lobo pressed the trigger and fired a small cluster of blue alien slugs that latched onto Superman and began shocking him. "Heh-heh-heh. Don't struggle now. You'll just make them vengeful." Lobo pointed out as he smoked his cigar only for something to send him and his motorcycle flying across the city.

Said something was Will as Manhunter who decloaked and used his telekinesis to remove the slugs from Superman's body so he could heat vision them. Lobo flew back towards them and fired another batch of slugs only for Manhunter to stop and crush them with his telekinesis. Lobo then fired another missile at Superman but missed as the Kryptonian punched him to the sea. The missile flew off course and was heading to the bridge so Manhunter flew over just in time and redirected its course upwards with his telekinesis so it exploded and didn't kill anyone. His little display did give the civilians a good look at him, two of which were Lois and Jimmy.

Superman slammed Lobo and his bike into the Metropolis pier but both quickly recovered. Lobo pulled out some kind of alien mini gun which began firing a barrage of sharp metal shards that ripped through the dock with ease. Superman raised his arms to protect his face as the metal shards continuously pummeled him when the gun was suddenly crushed.

"Hey, what gives?!" Lobo shouted when he saw a flash of green light up above him followed by the spinning yellow and black hide of an Arburian Pelarota. "Uh oh…"

"Cannonball!" Cannonbolt slammed into Lobo at terminal velocity and completely destroyed the pier but sent the alien crazy man into the water. Another flash of green light was followed by a pillar of fire that erupted from the water, sending Lobo and his Space Hog into the sky before another flash of green light and a powerful beam of heat vision sent him into space.

Superman looked up and saw someone in a Kryptonian skinsuit fly down next to him where he was a bit awestruck but saw the Omnitrix symbol insignia. He touched the watch and soon transformed back into Will. "You have a Kryptonian form?" Superman asked him.

"Something of a recent addition." Will replied as they looked up at the sky. "You think that did it?"

"I'm not sure. Let's hope it did." Superman replied as Hawkwoman floated down next to him. A little worse for wear and bruised but she would be ok. "You ok, Hawkwoman?"

"I'll live." She replied when she noticed something falling from the sky. "Heads up."

Superman and Will looked to see what she saw and it was getting closer. "You've got to be kidding me."

Superman got a better look at what was closing in and saw it was Lobo who was covered in fire due to the force of reentry. Lobo soon crashed down in the ocean in a huge splash and explosion before he flew out on his still intact Space Hog and ran into Superman, taking him for a ride through the city.

"This guy just won't stay down." Will remarked as he changed back into Ultraman so he and Hawkwoman could fly after them.

Superman grabbed onto Lobo's Space Hog and they exchanged blows during their crazy ride through the city that sent them crashing into a few buildings and up through several floors of the Luthorcorp building again which would infuriate Lex even more. Superman continued to through punch after punch only for two laser turrets to pop out of the back of Lobo's Space Hog and zap him with blue and green energy respectively which seemed to actually knock him out. Superman slid off and fell to the ground only for Lobo to fly by and grab him by the cape.

"Nice effort, Superdipstick but it's over now. Time to collect my reward." Lobo revved his engine and flew towards space at speeds easily eclipsing 20 times the speed of sound.

"Superman!" Ultraman took off like a rocket and flew after him.

"Kid, wait!" Hawkwoman's shout fell on deaf ears as Ultraman flew after them. Lobo existed the Planet's atmosphere still carrying Superman by the cape when he saw Ultraman in his rearview.

"Hey, no one likes a tag along. Beat it!" Lobo shouted only for Ultraman to close in. "Time to blow this dung heap of a planet."

Lobo took out a small box like device known as a Mother Box and used it to open up a Boom-Tube portal he quickly flew through followed by Ultraman just as it closed behind him.

Deep Space…

A Boom-Tube opened up onto an alien spaceship as Lobo swerved to a stop with Superman still in his hand but Ultraman flew in with him. "End of the line, Lobo. It's over."

"Yeah, it is. Bounty is dropped off and now I'm gonna put your insides on the outside. Don't worry, I'll simplify the maiming process." Lobo taunted only for a dome of glass to suddenly drop around Ultraman.

That's when the Preserver floated down into view. "Interesting. By my scans, you would appear to be a Kryptonian as well. I wasn't aware there was another of the species that survived other than Superman. How is this possible?"

"It's a long story." Ultraman punched the glass but it didn't break. That's when he saw the red light shinning above.

"That light mimics the red sun of your home planet, negating the effects the yellow sun gives you of your unnatural abilities." The Preserver told him.

"Good to know." Ultraman touched the Omnitrix and turned into Manhunter so he could phase through the glass.

"Not this time, Bastich!" Lobo threw down a grenade which erupted into a torrent of fire that swept over Manhunter.

"ARGH!" Will felt his entire being in pain as the fire literally felt like…well, fire but ten times more intense. He struggled to stay alive before he dropped face first to the ground and passed out. After a flash of green light, he had transformed back into Will.

"Interesting. It would appear he is a shapeshifter." The Preserver stated as Lobo walked over with a knife.

"Yeah, a soon to be dead one." Lobo remarked only for the Preserver to appear next to him.

"No. An interesting species such as this deserves to be preserved." He told Lobo before another chest of Taydenite appeared.

"Whatever you say, Boss man." Lobo put the knife away as the Preserver put Superman and Will into new display cases.

Line Break xxxxx

Superman woke up to find himself stuck in a glass display case modeled with Kryptonian architecture and a red sun lamp so he didn't have his powers. The Preserver wanted it to be a perfect representation of his home world for his collection. Superman eventually met the Preserver who kindly returned his uniform so he didn't feel as weird dressed in Kryptonian clothing.

"Thanks for returning my uniform. Now let me out of here." Superman demanded.

"I'm afraid that is impossible. For ages I have preserved many rare creatures even some from your adopted planet earth." The Preserver told him.

"I'm not an animal to be stuck in a cage." Superman stated.

"Normally, I don't take sentient beings but you and Lobo are all that survive from your respective home worlds. The Czarnian seems to be adjusting to his new surroundings I suggest you do the same." With that the Preserver left for another part of his ship. Superman heard some chuckling and turned to see Lobo in the glass display case next to him which was set up like a biker bar lounge from the 90s complete with alien bar babes.

"Rise and shine, big boy." The bar babe said to him.

"Pinch me, I'm dreaming." Lobo said and she did before he got up and walked around. "Whoo! Ha-ha. No, I'm not. It's a party, right? I can deal with that. You babes sit tight, and I'll grab us some suds. Man, I don't know where I am or how I got here but I'm glad I—Urgh!"

Lobo ran into the glass and saw Superman across from him with an unamused expression on his face. "Morning."

"Suddenly, it's all coming back to me. Where's that wrinkled little creep that locked me in here? When I get my hands on him, I'll—" Lobo began beating the glass display case and it was actually starting to crack it when the two alien bar babes came over.

"Take it easy, swookums."

"No need to get rowdy."

The two alien bar babes mouths opened up to reveal they were robots as they released a potent gas into Lobo's face. "Gas! Back off you blasted robo-bims! Ugh…" Lobo soon passed out and the robotic bar babes took him back to his chair.

"There. Nice and peaceful. No one fights here."

Superman walked around his cell and saw an alien rhinoceros across the room munching on some kind of fruit native to its planet. Seeing a small crystal shard, Superman took it and used it to reflect the light from the red sun lamp at the rhino. "Sorry, fella, but you're my ticket out of here." Superman shined the light in the rhino's eye, annoying it to the point where it huffed and barreled through its own pen and smashed into Superman's cage.

Despite his brilliance in his escape plan, the Preserver's ship system found out about the cell break. "A disturbance in the south wing, sir." A security droid stated.

"Send the Security probes. I will be in the lab looking at our latest arrival." The Preserver left while its security droid handled the issue.

Superman walked out of his destroyed cell as the rhino began to eat some of the decorative plants in his cell. He picked up a piece of broken glass from his cell and tried to crush it. Nothing seemed to happen but after a few seconds it shattered which meant his strength and powers were returning so he ran to find a way off the ship.

"Yo, Supes!" Lobo shouted, kneeling down at the edge of his cell. "Aw, you ain't gonna bail without your old pal Lobo, are you?"

"If any creature in the galaxy deserves to be locked up, it's you." Superman pointed his finger in Lobo's face. That just made him angry.

"Why, you dirty…"

"Lobie, are you getting rowdy again?" One of the female robots asked.

"Huh? Oh, no, no. I'm cool." He assured them before looking over at Superman. "Come on, man. Cut me a break. They keep me so pumped with gas I can hardly move. I gotta get out of here."

"So, you can attack the earth again? I don't think so." Superman pointed out.

Lobo looked hurt before he scowled in anger and punched the cell. "All right, I don't need you. I'm the Main Man. You hear me, you rag-fragging geek-wad Bastich?!" Lobo shouted.

"Oh my. Such language." Two robots walked over and dispersed more gas to calm him down.

"It might take me a week, it might take me ten years but I'm gonna bust out and kick that big red S of yours all over the galaxy! Right after I'm done nuking the Earth into Guacamole! And that's…[coughs]…a promise." Lobo declared, coughing up a fit as he tried to fight the gas.

Superman groaned in annoyance before he walked back over just as Lobo was about to pass out. He tapped the glass so Lobo looked at him. "If I let you out, do you promise to leave me and everyone on earth alone?"

"The Main Man's word is his bond, man." Lobo swore when he saw Superman throw a punch. "AH!"

Superman punched the glass three times so the gas could get out and Lobo could breathe. "Oh, dead. The Preserver won't like this one bit." The two female robots walked over but Lobo was ready for them.

"Come here, sweet things!" Lobo grabbed them by the gas tubes in their mouths before tying them together so the pressure built up and caused them to explode. "Dang, that felt good."

He caught their dismembered heads and tossed them over his shoulder. "Hey, blue, thanks." He then punched Superman in the face.

"What was that for?" Superman asked.

"Didn't want you to think I'm going soft on you." Lobo remarked when four security droids dropped down from the ceiling.

"Return to your enclosures!" They ordered as Lobo marched up to them and punched his fist.

"Who's gonna make us?!"

The security droids blasted them with beams of pure energy that knocked them back. The two quickly hid behind some display cases causing the droids to stop shooting since they couldn't risk harming the enclosures. "Nice going, big mouth!" Superman said to Lobo.

"I didn't know they were armed." Lobo pointed out as they quickly hid behind the glass to avoid an energy beam.

"Neither one of us is back to full strength."

"And if they drag us back to those cages then they'll probably strap our asses down to the floor with razor wire. Not that it ain't a pleasurable way to perk up an otherwise humdrum evening but I do have that prisoner to deliver." Lobo pointed out. "We could use that stupid shapeshifting scuzzbag human friend of yours right about now if old, wrinkled face hasn't had his way with him yet."

Superman perked up when he heard that and grabbed Lobo by the jacket to bring him close. "What did you say?"

"That stupid metal tin human who changes with the green light thing every time and was kind of an annoying Bastich on earth? Yeah, he followed you to try and stop me from bringing you here. Not that it did him any good since he was captured too. The old floating egg paid me double to not kill him." Lobo explained.

"If he's here then we've got to rescue him. He can help us get out of here but first we need to deal with those security drones." Superman said and Lobo smirked.

"Thanks for volunteering!" Lobo pushed him back into the hallway giving the security drones a clear line of sight on him. Superman moved around to avoid getting hit but was tagged a few times by the security drones. Luckily his natural Kryptonian dense structure saved him from serious harm with his powers returning slowly. While the security drones were kept occupied, Lobo snuck around and attacked them from behind. He smashed two drones together with little issue and kicked the third into Superman who punched it in half. He grabbed the fourth drone and turned it around only for it to blast him in the face. His hair was burned a bit and his face was covered in soot but all in all he was fine as he blew some smoke out of his mouth. "Fragger."

Lobo just knocked the security drone on the head and it crumbled into pieces. "Come on. We need to find Will. Where is he?" Superman asked him.

"Probably taken to a lab or something on the south wing of the ship where my bike is." Lobo explained as the two kept moving through the spaceship and entered a large open habitat to cut through and save some time. Unfortunately, they would have some more issues to deal with.

With Will…

Will woke up a few hours later and found that he couldn't move. He was a bit groggy but eventually began to see clearly and saw he was strapped to a table with his arms and legs kept apart. His armor wasn't on since he saw his buckle next to him on a table with various implements though while alien, he recognized dissection tools when he saw them.

"I have a bad feeling about this." He muttered when he saw several security drones hover around him. They seemed to be observing him before they focused their attention on the Omnitrix.

"That is quite an extraordinary device you have on your person, human." He heard and saw the Preserver float down in front of him. "When you first arrived on my ship, I thought you were perhaps a unique species seeing as how you were able to transform yet you are nothing more than a human."

"And you're a giant floating…humpty dumpty alien so it's the pot calling the kettle black." Will pointed out, trying to remain as calm as possible and resorting to humor and insults. On the inside he was terrified because he had read plenty of alien conspiracy theories and seen the movie Fire in the Sky enough times to know what alien experiments could be like. And there was no way he was going to be happy about a probe being shoved anywhere. "Let me go."

"I'm afraid I can't do that. The device on your wrist is extraordinary and requires further examination and study. If you are capable of shapeshifting into other species then it would make you the first of a new species and while I normally don't keep sentient beings, a special case such as yours would warrant an exception." The Preserver remarked as some of his security drones began doing in-depth analysis of the Omnitrix to figure out how it worked. Before the Preserver could order any more tests, one of his security drones entered the lab.

"Apologies for the interruption but the Kryptonian and Czarnian have evaded capture in the sand pit and are currently in the terrarium."

"It would appear that it is time to get my hands dirty. Keep the human here and continue the tests." The Preserver then left while the security drones kept going about their business.

With the head alien gone, Will knew it was the perfect time to try and get free but that was easier said than done. His armor buckle wasn't on his person and he couldn't move his arms to activate the Omnitrix as they were placed in restraints. They needed to go if he had any chance of going alien. The security drones continued to analyze the watch as one took a drill to take a sample for study. That's when he remembered what happened in the DEO lab when he first got the watch and gave him an idea.

"If you want a better sample to study then I'd suggest taking it from the wrist guard." He suggested. The drones seemed unsure of what to do but took the human's suggestion, thinking there was no risk. The human was restrained and unable to access the watch so it began drilling at the wrist guard which caused some sparks to fly but it kept drilling. When it seemed like the drill was close to piercing the watch's structure, it began glowing and crackled with green electricity. "Whoops."

The Omnitrix released a feedback wave and knocked the security drones against the walls of the lab, destroyed the restraint holding Will's left arm in place and caused the table to flip on its side.

"Ha! Knew that would work." Will reached the Omnitrix over to his other hand which was still tied down but couldn't reach. "Oh, crap."

He struggled to try and reach the Omnitrix over to his other hand but the feedback only freed one arm. The rest of his body was still tied down to the table which was flipped on its side so he couldn't reach over. He saw the security drones coming over in a glass reflection so he needed to do something quick. He put the Omnitrix to his face and began trying to press the dial with his nose or face before trying to use his teeth and eventually managed to get his mouth around the dial. He pushed the buttons with his teeth causing the face to spring up.

"Thank god. I don't care what alien this is because anything is better than nothing." He slammed the dial into his chest and transformed in a flash of green light. The drones readied to fire at the escaping human when the table was thrown at one of them and crushed it to pieces. Another was grabbed and thrown into the ground before stomped on while the third and last drone was ripped in half by a pair of big hands. Will quickly grabbed his armor buckle from the nearby table and that's when he got a good look at himself. "This…terrifies me."

Back with Superman and Lobo…

Superman and Lobo were still moving through the new habitat when they saw someone actually residing in the space and being pampered by two of those female robots. It was a humanoid giant porcupine/Opossum about 5ft tall with big yellow eyes, a tail, and quills for hair. He was wearing a zipped-up orange jacket with yellow stripes and yellow and brown shorts. The robots were feeding him fruit and a drink with a little umbrella in it while he was laying about in a hammock with a smile on his face.

"Ah, nothing better than this. Thirst quench me, ladies." The alien said when he was suddenly drenched in water. "Hey, what's going on?"

The alien looked to see Lobo staring right at him. "Hey, babe."

"AH! Lobo…uh, what are you doing here?"

"I'm here for you dipstick!" Lobo stated as the alien tried to run but was grabbed by the tail and not going anywhere. "I still got to turn you in."

"Oh, come on, Lobo. Be reasonable here. You don't have to do this." The alien said but Lobo didn't care as he picked him up and tucked him in his arm.

"And your friend?" Superman asked.

"Meet Argit. A two-bit con artist who ruffled some feathers enough to get a bounty on his head. Got the king of Renalo waiting for this guy." Lobo explained as Argit looked up at Superman.

"Didn't take you for the partner kind, Lobo." Argit commented.

"Nah, Superdupe is just tagging along. Now, where were we?" Lobo asked when a bunch of security drones arrived at show at them. "Oh, that's where."

Superman and Lobo ducked and took cover to avoid getting hit when they heard footsteps followed by a war cry. "RAHH!"

Someone big crashed down into the security drones and proceeded to smash them into bits. One was stomped on like an ant, another was used as a baseball bat to smash the others into pieces while the last droid was crumbled into a ball and thrown to the ground. The smoke from the wreckage dissipated so Superman, Lobo, and Argit could see that their savior looked like Lobo because he was a Czarnian.

This Czarnian was slightly smaller than Lobo but that's because this was a younger member of the species whereas who knew how old Lobo was. His hair wasn't spikey and instead slicked back but had the same red eyes and distinct marks on his face. He had on a black jacket and shirt with matching gloves but it had green streaks as opposed to Lobo's silver. His boots, pants, and knee guards were all black and his belt buckle had the Omnitrix on it. (7)

"Whoa, wait just a god damn freggin' fraggin' minute. Who the hell are you supposed to be? There aren't any more Czarnian's left. I fragged them all along with the rest of my planet. Guess I missed one. Allow me to recorrect that mistake." Lobo marched forward only for Superman to stop him.

"Relax, Lobo. You're still the last of your kind." The Czarnian touched the Omnitrix and after a flash of green light he turned back into Will wearing his regular human clothes with his armor buckle back on his belt. "Egh, that felt wrong."

"But the right kind of wrong, huh kid?" Lobo raised his eyebrows as Superman walked over.

"Are you all right?" Superman asked him.

"Yeah, I'm fine. A little groggy and missing earth but I'm ok." Will assured him. "I don't know where the head guy went. Thought he was after you two?"

"Oh, he better pray he doesn't show his face. I'm grinding up that Preserver geek into kibble and feeding him to his varmints." Lobo promised, swinging around Argit as he made his point.

"How did you get free?" Superman asked as Will held up the watch.

"Omnitrix has a built-in safety feature. Came in handy. Didn't know I was going to transform into someone like Lobo though." He replied.

"Well, whoop-de-fraggin'-do for you, kid." Lobo clapped his hand against Argit's head in a mock praise. "Now, you got your human back and I think it's time I get my bike back and blow this place."

"I can't believe I'm gonna say this but lead the way, Lobo." Superman said and he did. As they ran through the spaceship, Will kept close to Superman.

"Isn't he a bad guy?" He wondered.

"I…don't think so…at the moment." Superman replied, making their way through the ship until they arrived at the hangar bay where a bunch of alien ships were parked including Lobo's Space Hog.

"Ah, the Old Hog never looked so good." Lobo said when the Preserver floated down from the roof. "Oh yeah. I was hoping I'd get a piece of you before I left. I'm going to show your wrinkles 31 flavors of pain."

"As much as I dislike taking a personal hand in this matter. You leave me no other choice. Return to your enclosures immediately." The Preserver demanded.

"Who's gonna make me?" Lobo mocked and the Preserver seemed to close his eyes and tense up like he was trying to go to the bathroom. That's when his skin began to rip apart and a giant ugly, hulking red alien monster spewed out. "I'm gonna have to stop saying that."

This new Preserver ripped free of the small old skin and stood at a staggering 25ft tall with huge teeth, pale white eyes, and large sharp claws on each hand. He looked at the three in front of him and while his face wasn't very telling…he was angry. "You want him." Will pointed to Lobo.

"Oh, you fraggin dipstick! I respect that." Lobo remarked before he was backhanded and knocked into a wall. The Preserver then marched over and grabbed Lobo, roaring in his face before slamming him into the ground. Superman rushed over and punched him in the leg, causing the Preserver to stagger before throwing a punch to the gut only to get kicked away and slam into one of the alien vehicles.

Will rushed over to the wall for cover before activating the Omnitrix and turning the dial to choose an alien. He passed Ripjaws, Upgrade, and Grey Matter when he saw a new silhouette that appeared to be wearing armor and had wings. "A new form probably isn't a good idea right now." He turned the dial and pressed it down, transforming into XLR8. He super sped forward and began throwing super speed punches all over the giant Preserver as it tried to hit him but was too slow. XLR8 raced up the Preserver's back and when he reached the top, he pressed the dial and turned into Buzzshock where he grabbed on and let out a high voltage current through his body.

The Preserver roared in anger as Superman flew over and punched it several times in the face. Buzzshock shocked it again before letting out a tiny cackle and zipped away as Superman picked up one of the alien spaceships and hurled it at the Preserver, knocking him into the wall. Buzzshock appeared on the ground and after touching the Omnitrix, he turned into Heatblast and unleashed a torrent of fire from his hands that engulfed the Preserver. Unfortunately, that didn't as much as he had hoped since the Preserver got back out and charged, kicking Heatblast into a wall and stabbed Superman through the ground with his claws to the level below.

Superman flew out of the hole and punched the Preserver several times as Lobo quickly grabbed Argit and rushed over to his bike where he pulled out a spare hook chain from a compartment. "Argit, you're about to witness my good deed for the century."

"You're gonna let me go?" Argit wondered.

"Heh, funny." Lobo shoved Argit into the compartment and closed it before spinning his hook chain. "Hey, Dipsticks! Better hang on!"

Lobo threw his hook chain into a circuit breaker causing it to explode and an alarm to go off before the hangar bay doors opened into the cold vacuum of space. Lobo held on with his chain and grabbed his bike to make sure it didn't get swept away as Heatblast was nearly pulled out of the ship but touched the Omnitrix and turned into Manhunter. He punched his fists into the floor and held on as Superman and the Preserver did the same.

He saw the Preserver actually hang on so he quickly stretched out his arm and punched him in the face. That was enough to cause him to lose his grip and get sucked out into space. A few seconds later, the ship's automated decompression feature activated and the emergency energy fields over the hangar doors activated which sealed and pressurized the room.

Manhunter dropped to the ground just as the watch timed out so Will landed on his back. "Ugh, that hurt."

"Agreed." Superman got up and cracked his back.

"WHOO! What a rush!" Lobo shouted, spinning his chain around his arm. "Who wants to go again?"

Superman just punched him in the face for that.

A few hours later…

Metropolis was a bit of a disaster as the police, fire department and Mayor's office were doing everything they could to take account of all the damage and injuries and plan the city's recovery from its recent alien attack. Superman and the mystery alien hadn't been seen in hours so many were wondering what happened. Lex, being Lex, went on a giant rant about Superman and the alien and was going to help repair the city while Lois and the Daily Planet were more interested in the story of Superman and his partners against a mystery new alien.

The DEO had several teams working in the city to check and inventory everything Lobo might have left behind but Director Henshaw's biggest worry was where Superman and Will went. He and some agents returned to the temporary operating base outside the city where the injured agents were taken care of. Hawkwoman joined them and received medical attention after the rough fight with Lobo. Normally they wouldn't do this but she did help try to stop Lobo and did save some DEO agents so it was the least they could do.

A medic finished wrapping up her arm with bandages which was on top of the a few switches on her side, more bandages on her wings and plenty of bruises. "Thanks." She told them as Director Henshaw walked over. "Any luck getting Tetrax?"

"He said he should be here soon." Director Henshaw told her. "How are you feeling?"

"A little sore but I'll live. Thanks for the patch up." She told him.

"Well, considering what you did and how you helped some of my agents then it was the least we could do." Henshaw told her. "I just hope where Superman and Will are that they're safe."

A flash of red light appeared in the field and they saw Tetrax appear but he had Superman and Will with him. "I heard you lost these two?"

"Thanks, Tetrax." Will told him.

"Don't mention it. Nice job taking down the Preserver." Tetrax told them.

"What happened? Where's Lobo?" Hawkwoman asked.

"He's not going to be an issue anymore." Superman assured her. "We've come to a certain…deal."

"Yeah, just hope he sticks to it. But we're alive and back home so that's good enough for me but we've got some work to do. What's the DEO's policy on pets?" Will asked and Director Henshaw was confused.

It was the weird end to a couple of days made possible by the Main Man himself. He left to turn Argit in for the bounty and while he was a massive headache he also proved to be…sort of useful. But it won't be the last time he shows his face.

End of Chapter 4

1). Imagine the wings and jetpack from Falcon's Captain America suit just colored black and silver like his Proto-Tech armor.

2). Imagine Will's car similar to Kevin's blue on in Omniverse. It's a good mental image.

3). Will's armor disguised voice is the same as Prometheus from season 5 of arrow but from the first half of the season while it still had the gravely, vibration effect to it. It was more intimidating that way before the show decided to remove it.

4). Same Lois Lane and Jimmy Olsen from Superman and Lois and Supergirl. I also changed Superman back to Tyler Hoechlin for those that didn't see the changes I made to the first chapter's after notes. Superman and Lois is a great show and Tyler Hoechlin and Bitsie Tulloch are great as Clark and Lois. That is the Superman we deserved to see on Supergirl. I'm so glad HBO Max is helping with the show. If the CW gets full control over that show, it's done for so everyone please watch it and hopefully it doesn't follow in the path of Supergirl.

5). Hawkwoman AKA Shayera Hol as played by Stana Katic. Her armor design is the Earth-27 design of Hawkwoman as created by artist Phil Cho. You guys should check out the wiki or see Phil Cho's YouTube channel where he posts images of the character redesigns he done. It's awesome. And for the casting, I thought that similar to the Justice League cartoon that Stana Katic was a good fight. She's had some badass moments in her acting career that I think work and I can imagine her in the armor and see it working. Hope you guys like my choice.

6) The Main Man himself, Lobo. Think his appearance similar to the Superman Animated series and his appearance as Ron Pearlman. I think he'd be a pretty cool Lobo and I did see him come up as a few fan castings. He's actually done a lot of voice work like Clayface in Batman the animated series, Mr. Lancer from Danny Phantom, Sinestro from Green Lantern: Animated series, Orion from Justice League, Jax-Ur from Superman the animated series, Slade from Teen Titans, Bane, Killer Croc, and Rumor from the Batman, and Firelord Sozin from Avatar the last airbender. He's got some seriously impressive work. I think he'd be a good Lobo provided he be more a little snarky which he has done with Hellboy.

7). Will's Czarnian form is similar to the Lobo from Young Justice which was more slimmer compared the giant hulking Lobo from Superman: the Animated Series.

I hoped you guys liked the fourth chapter. This was another big one as a lot of stuff happened, some stuff got resolved, some stuff was set up, and just a lot of stuff. The Forever Knights showed up again and will continue to be a constant pain going forward and Will's journey as a hero/future DEO agent in training is progressing with some things he'll need to keep in mind going forward. Plus, we've gotten to see more aliens and him using the Omnitrix with the Main Man himself. Hope I didn't disappoint. the brawl and subsequent adventure with Lobo is something Will and Superman won't forget. And the DEO won't either but it was an awesome team up with Superman and Hawkwoman. Hoped you liked my face claim for her and I changed Superman back to Tyler Hoechlin. Superman and Lois is an awesome show.

The CW better not ruin it!

Next chapter, Will's summer begins and he starts it with heading to Coast City to help Green Lantern face off against Sinestro before he goes to help Batman with the Suicide Squad as they try to break in to Arkham Asylum. Enjoy!

I hoped you guys like Lobo. That was a hard part to write as he is such a crazy character so I hope you guys liked what I did. I took inspiration from the Superman animated series. That was a fun Lobo and this isn't a one and done. He'll show up again. Plus, we've got two new alien forms for Will: an unnamed Czarnian and unnamed Thanagarian? Any suggestions?

One thing I wanted this chapter to show is just how different Will's journey is gonna be when he deals with earth threats versus alien threats. Last chapter, Will was able to deal with Sportsmaster, Tigress, Bloodsport along with a hostage situation and saved a city in his armor and just being a human but this chapter he had trouble with the alien bounty hunters and Lobo. His armor is there to keep him safe and his identity a secret from people who shouldn't know but against an alien like Lobo, using the Omnitrix is a better idea. For earth threats, he'll mainly use his armor and when another alien issue comes up he'll use the Omnitrix. More of that will come up as the story goes on.

Next stories to be updated. In September we'll have Blue Wolf and Riverdale but I'll also try and get Multiverse out as well. Stay safe and keep reading everyone.
