Will's summer vacation begins and instead of enjoying his time at the beach or going to camp, he ends up using the Omnitrix to handle both earthly and alien threats. He starts it with heading to Coast City to help Green Lantern face off against Sinestro, giving him his first taste of going up against a Yellow Lantern. Plus, he goes to help Batman with the Suicide Squad as they try to break in to Arkham Asylum. Enjoy.

Omniverse Earth-38: A Space Cop and Assault at Arkham

May 2008: National City, USA

Will was driving through the city in his 1969 Chevrolet Camaro SS. He was dressed up a bit, wearing a nice white button-up and jacket to pick up Courtney. After what happened at the Junior Prom and how busy he was after dealing with the Forever Knight hold out and then the incident in Metropolis with the alien Bounty Hunters and Lobo, he wanted to make it up to her and asked her out on a date. According to Beth, everyone else knew that Courtney had a thing for Will so he decided that maybe they could try and make something work. Even with the Omnitrix on his wrist, he couldn't stop having a life and he was only 17. Figuring out the dating thing while he had the universe's most powerful weapon and genetic database strapped to his wrist was going to be a learning curve.

He parked his car in Courtney's driveway when he saw Max, the Whitmore family bulldog rush over and he was reminded of what happened after he, Superman and Lobo defeated the Collector.

Flashback…

After Superman and Will's return from the Collector's ship with the help of Tetrax, the Petrosapien bounty hunter turned ally stuck around a bit longer to help fill in some gaps in their intergalactic knowledge. Hawkwoman left after healing up, heading back to New York while Tetrax teleported them back into the collector's ship which was currently orbiting the moon. All the security drones were disabled so there was no threat on the ship other then the literal alien zoo the Collector had.

Will was standing with Director Henshaw, Tetrax and Superman in the main habitat area as the DEO agents did a thorough analysis of the ship and all the alien animals on board. Tetrax was able to help fill in some gaps in their knowledge but luckily the Collector kept a thorough database.

"I still can't believe that guy was keeping a giant alien zoo on this ship. Is this…legal?" Will wondered, walking past the enclosed habitat of some kind of alien hippo crossed with a kangaroo. It's body was hippo-like but walked on two legs and had a pouch for its young. He looked in through the glass and the alien seemed to notice his appearance before going back to its food.

"Kind of. It's a bit of a grey area. From what you found on the ship, the Collector wasn't selling or harvesting these animals but merely collecting creatures from destroyed or dying worlds. A sort of zoo for endangered or extinct animals so that they didn't die out." Tetrax answered. "Whether he planned to sell them or dissect them for study is another matter."

"Well, considering what his robots were planning to do to me, I don't feel as bad as I should for sending him out into deep space." Will commented as he activated the Omnitrix and scanned the hippo-kangaroo alien. A yellow light shot out from the Omnitrix and scanned the alien from head to toe before the face dial turned red and let out an error beep.

"Error. Genetic sample unable to be recorded." The Omnitrix stated, earning looks from everyone.

"That's never happened before. Omnitrix, elaborate." Will ordered.

"Genetic sample recorded does not reach sapient-level intellect requirements of host for capture. Genetic sample's intelligence and sentient-level must bear similarities to host or transformations risk damaging hosts brain chemistry." The Omnitrix answered.

"Huh, guess you are smart enough to not use the Omnitrix irrationally." Tetrax pointed out and Will shrugged.

"Well, now we know that when you scan a potential new alien, it has to have an intelligence and understanding similar to a human or else the transformation could alter your brain chemistry." Dr. Henshaw stated.

"So, if I scanned a bear and transformed I wouldn't be a smart bear, I'd be a bear-bear. Well, that's disappointing. But if the transformations need a human-like sentience, what about Wildmutt?" Will wondered.

"What's a Wildmutt?" Tetrax asked.

"Sorry, it's a name for one of my aliens. Wildmutt's a Vulpamancer." Will told Tetrax.

"Well, Vulpamancers are actually a very intelligence species. Compared to others they might not seem like it but they are intelligence and fierce." Tetrax explained. "Question is now what do you plan on doing with the Collector's ship?"

"Well, the ship and its inhabitants don't pose any threat to Earth but my men are just going over the ship's systems and the animals for our own database." Director Henshaw answered.

"I don't suppose the DEO has a giant alien zoo or pen we could put them all in?" Will wondered. "I know the cells at the DEO are for alien criminals but these are just animals. They haven't done anything wrong."

"I know which presents its own problems." Henshaw added. "I'm not sure how the president would react to use housing an alien zoo."

"How about I handle the animals? I know some people who might be able to get them to a safe habitat. There are some sanctuary planets out there under protection from the Guardians of the Universe so they'll be safe and able to roam free instead of being locked up." Tetrax suggested. "Just call it me making things even for your help in taking down the alien bounty hunters."

"Speaking of which, are you sure Lobo isn't going to be an issue anymore?" Henshaw asked Will and Superman.

"We had an agreement. I helped him and he agrees to leave Earth alone. He was only there for me." Superman told him. "Lobo's a maniac and insane but he says he always keeps his word and his contract. His contract on me ended with the Collector so he has no reason to come back to earth."

"With all that said, my armor did scan his space bike-thing and I have its unique energy signature so we can track it if it comes back to earth." Will added and Director Henshaw nodded.

"Good work. All right, let's clean up and let Tetrax get this ship out of here. Wrap it up, Gentlemen!" Director Henshaw shouted and the DEO agents began their final scans while cleaning up.

"As far as team-ups go…I think I prefer the one with the giant alien tick." Will said to Superman. "Less chance of me getting dissected or sucked out an airlock in that case."

"Yeah. In terms of adventures…this has definitely been a first of mine." Superman admitted with relaxed tone. He and Will have really only met twice but his general likeable personality has made the Man of Steel warm up to him much faster. "So, you have a Kryptonian form?"

"Yeah. The Omnitrix can scan aliens and I unlocked a Kryptonian form after the tick incident. Don't worry, I haven't really been using him. The whole transformation and powers take some getting used to." He assured him.

"Really? What's it like?" Superman wondered. He was curious as to a human's perspective in a Kryptonian body. This was a once in a lifetime situation and no one else would really understand.

"Transforming feels great. Like the feeling you get when you crack the right joint or after a nice massage. But as Ultraman…it's like I took six energy drinks without the crash. And when I'm in the sun…it feels unbelievable. All the powers are still going to take some getting used to. When I first started transforming, it took me months before I knew what I could do as each of the ten aliens I had. I don't have your ice breath yet and my heat vision needs some control but I've got the flying down. Best feeling in the world. When I'm flying as Ultraman…it's like I'm on top of the world and nothing can scare me." Will recounted when something hit the glass wall of an animal pen they were walking by, causing him to jump in shock. "GAH!"

Superman chuckled seeing Will jump in fright after talking about being invincible. "Nothing can scare you, huh?" Superman joked as Will took a few deep breaths to calm down and saw what scared him. Some kind of alien starfish hit the side of its pen. It was larger than a regular starfish, about three feet in height and was blue with a purple hue around its five limbs but the weirdest thing was the giant eye in the center.

"Geez, that is one ugly looking starfish." Will remarked as he saw the alien starfish's eye seem to follow him and Superman. It released its suction cups from the walls of its pen before jumping back at the same spot like it was trying to get them.

"I don't think it liked that comment." Superman said as they saw the starfish seemed to keep banging on the pen to get out. "I wonder what it wants."

"Not sure. Don't worry…uh, Starro? Tetrax is gonna take you someplace where you won't have to be stuck in a glass pen." Will tapped the glass and waved goodbye as he and Superman kept walking.

"Starro? Ultraman? You've got a thing for nicknames, don't you?" Superman remarked and got a shrug in response.

"I like to think so. And it's to keep things easier with my aliens. Calling my Petrosapien form Diamondhead and Piscciss Volann form Ripjaws is a lot easier then the xenobiological term." He pointed out.

"Fair enough." Superman replied.

"So, Superman…I'm not sure what happened between you and Director Henshaw but are we…good? I mean, I know I'm just a kid and you're…you know, Superman but I like to think I handled myself pretty good." Will stated and Superman chuckled.

"You did. You're right your kind of young but I read about what you did when the Thinker tried to take National City hostage and I've seen you in action now twice. You're headstrong and that mentality got you into trouble but you've got a good head on your shoulders kid. We're ok." Superman gave him a soft pat on the shoulder.

"Thanks. That means a lot. If we're ok, can I ask are you and Lois Lane an item?" He asked with the sort of giddy enthusiasm of his superhero fanboy side. "I mean, from how she writes about you in the Daily Planet to all the times you show up and save her…is there something there? A lot of people online seem to think there is."

"I can't comment on that. Ms. Lane and I are just friends." Superman answered but Will didn't buy that. Unfortunately, no matter how many times he asked, Superman kept up denying it. The DEO finished up their task with the ship and after Tetrax teleported them back to earth, he left with the ship to make sure the animals would have a better home. The DEO recorded all the data the Collectors ship had on the planets and the alien animals he had taken but there was also some good information on the larger universe that earth didn't have. They also came across several crates of what looked like Petrosapien Crystals but Tetrax informed them it was Taydenite. It was one of the most precious and rarest gems in the entire universe. Practically indestructible and valued as a form of currency. Director Henshaw wasn't sure how valuable it would be on earth but they kept several of the cases with Tetrax taking the rest.

Unfortunately for all of them, one of those animals wasn't just a dumb alien animal and they'd see it again in the future.

End Flashback…

Will knelt down and pet Max on the head before scratching him under his jaw and the bulldog was very happy. He walked up to the house with Max followed him before knocking on the front.

"I got it!" He heard and Courtney's younger step-brother Mike opened it. "Hey, Will."

"Hey, Mike. Is Courtney ready?" He wondered.

"Yeah, she's upstairs. Courtney, Will's here!" Mike shouted, walking back inside the house with Max rushing over to the kitchen. Will waited outside the front door as Barbara and Pat walked over.

"Good evening, Mr. and Mrs. Dugan." Will smiled.

"Hey, Will. Don't you look very charming." Barbara told him and he smiled.

"Thank you."

"So, where are you taking Courtney?" Pat wondered.

"We're heading down to the carnival down at the pier. I saw the flier for it a week ago and it looks like a lot of fun." He answered when Courtney came down the stairs. She was wearing some boots, blue jeans and a nice top with a jacket and her purse.

"I'm ready." Courtney told him.

"All right. You two have fun and call us if something comes up." Barbara told them before giving Courtney a hug. Pat gave her a hug as well before she and Will walked over to his car and drove away. "They grow up so fast."

"They do. At least we have a few more years with Mike. He's got his head too focused on the TV or looking down at his phone." Pat pointed out and both of them looked into the living room to see Mike on the couch playing video games. Before he could say anything else, his phone went off so he checked it. "Oh, it's the vendor who shorted us on the parts. Finally. Excuse me, Barbara."

She nodded and went back to the kitchen while Pat went into the basement so he could talk without any noise only he wasn't going to talk to a vendor. "Sylvester, what is it? You usually don't call during the week."

"Sorry, Pat but it's important. I know we're technically retired but I've been hearing whispers."

"Whispers about what?" Pat wondered.

"I've been keeping in contact with Rex and he says that he's heard whispers about the ISA."

"The ISA? But they're all dead or too old. There's no way any of them would be up and about and still able to actually do anything. No offense meant." Pat replied.

"None taken. And not all of the ISA are dead. Remember Dragon King? We never did find his body or that of the others. We just thought they were dead or went on the run. Rex seems to think that they just went quiet and he's not the only one. Jay and Alan think so as well."

"So, what? They went into hiding and now are starting to come back for what?" Pat asked.

"I don't know but I trust Rex and he wouldn't make something like this up."

"With all the new heroes running around they're gonna have some trouble if you're right. Maybe we won't have to do anything. If Dragon King does start something then Superman would be there." Pat pointed out.

"If you really think that and the ISA wouldn't have adapted and accounted for the alien then I'm kind of disappointed, Pat. Maybe you're engineering skills are slipping? Whatever the case, Rex is reaching out to everyone to keep them on alert. When he has more to go on then we can decide if we act. I wanted to give you a heads up and I'll let you know if something happens. Take care, Pat."

"You too, Sylvester." Pat hung up after that. He walked over to the wall where there were boxes of Christmas decorations on top of boxes of old keepsakes and memories from the past. Underneath all of that was an old, locked chest. Pat put in the combination in the lock and opened it up. It was filled with old boxes and files that had a sort of military design to them but each file had the initial JSA on them. Pat took out two photos. The first photo was of him when he was younger with someone else who was a little older. The two were friends and wearing rather odd costumes with Pat wearing a white and red starred shirt standing in front of his car and the other man wearing a red, white, and blue suit with a star logo on his chest. The other photo was of the same man in the red, white, and blue suit with several other people sitting at a table. Each of them were wearing an odd costume and one could be for mistaking it as a Halloween party but it wasn't. Pat's past was an odd one and it was eventually going to catch up with him.

After a fifteen minute drive filled with talking and dancing to music on the radio, Will and Courtney arrived at the National City pier where the Start of the Summer Carnival was taking place. It was a relatively new thing the city had and was sponsored by the American Dream Corporation. Some local business group that was all about improving National City and the Country to what it could ultimately achieve while honoring its roots. Will parked the car and he and Courtney got out and followed the small crowd of pedestrians who were entering a busy and fun looking carnival.

"So, our first date and you take me to a carnival?" Courtney asked him.

"Well, considering how Junior Prom went, I figured we could do with some fun. A night of laughs, games, prizes, and of course, funnel cake. Plus, I think this beats the usual and cliché date of going to a movie." Will suggested and Courtney smiled.

"Now funnel cake I can do. Let's go." Courtney took his hand and the two walked in for a night of fun.

They walked around and checked out the various booths and things set up and while most carnival fair was the usual fried or junk food, they managed to find one of two taco stands. And not taco bell fast food tacos but actual authentic tacos. The shrimp taco was delicious they didn't sluggish or like crap afterward. They went on rides, took funny photos in a photo booth, and played carnival games. The two were currently at the ring toss tent and per usual there were several bottles set up with people trying to get all their rings on to bottles to win a prize. Like with most carnival games, they were rigged to lose but Will and Courtney played to have fun. After striking out there, they moved to the dart game. Hit five balloons in a row with your five darts and you win a prize. Will paid for a turn and stood there, taking aim as Courtney and everyone watched. He threw the first one and nailed one of the balloons quickly followed by the second and the third.

"WOO! Go, Will!" Courtney cheered him on as he threw the third and fourth and popped the balloons. He picked up the fifth dart and his mind went back to memories at the DEO where he trained with his dad and the other agents. While his dad stressed that he wouldn't pick up a gun until he graduated high school, Will did practice with the forearm launcher and his training had improved his accuracy and ability to shoot. He threw the fifth dart and nailed the last balloon and Courtney cheered. Guess all that practice paid off.

"We have a winner." The vendor walked over with a large bear and handed it to him. "Congratulations."

"Thank you." Will replied, handing it to Courtney who struggled to hold it so he helped. "You should keep an eye on this or else Max will get a new chew toy."

"Oh, but he's gonna be so disappointed. He likes bears." Courtney joked as the two walked around until they found themselves at the edge of the pier and looked out to the water. It was a clear night with the moon and stars shining. "Well, that was a lot of fun."

"I agreed. Probably the best date I've ever been on. Not awkward at all." Will told her. "So…did I impress you enough to possibly earn a second date?"

Courtney gave him a sly smirk before turning to face him. "I think so." She replied. "How do you think the others are gonna react?"

"Well, apparently they've all been secretly wanting this so I'm guessing with equal parts happiness and mocking." He theorized. "But…this was a great night."

"It was." She leaned her head on his shoulder just as the fireworks started. Like something ripped out of a romcom. But it was fun and he was going to need it for the intense summer he had coming.

Line Break xxxxx

June 2008: National City High

School was a week out from ending and it felt like it. Exams and finals were the last hurdle before everyone tasted the sweet freedom of summer vacation. For Will and his friends, they made use of Beth and Yolanda's smart brains to help study. The bell rang and school was done for the day so Will and the other walked out and headed to the parking lot. Ed was on his skateboard as per usual and Karen was with them since she and Vic were officially a couple. Of course, they weren't the only ones as Will and Courtney had gone on a few more dates and started dating as well. It had its difficulties to manage as Courtney was busy with gymnastics and Will's schedule was busy with his job. He told her his job but it was training and everything else he and the DEO were doing. They managed to track down and find two more Fort Rozz escapees along with keeping tabs on more of activity of the Forever Knights.

"So, is everyone all set for their finals or do we need another study session?" Beth wondered.

I'm kind of all good on my end." Vic assured them. "And I'm sure if I need a refresher, Karen can give me a brief rundown."

"Egh, get a room you two." Ed told him.

"Don't be like that, Ed. You'll find someone for you, I know it." Karen told him.

"I know I will. I'm just enjoying my time as an eligible bachelor." Ed pointed out.

"Kind of a long time for a bachelor." Yolanda muttered before looking over at Will and Courtney. "What about you two?"

"I wouldn't mind another session." Courtney replied when they noticed was busy looking at his phone. He had just gotten a message on his phone from the DEO that read Alien signature closing in on earth. Life signs detected. Report for mission briefing. "Will?"

"Huh?" He looked up to see the others looking at him. "What?"

"Are you up for another study session tonight?" Yolanda asked him.

"Uh, no I'm good. And I've got something to take care of tonight anyways." He answered.

"Not another work thing, is it? That job has the most erratic and weird hours for your to work." Courtney pointed out.

"No, it's not work. It's uh…"

"His dad." Vic said, getting everyone's attention. "Will told me that his dad started seeing someone and it's getting kind of serious. Serious enough that tonight is gonna be her first dinner with him there. Right, dude?"

"Uh…right." Will added and Vic gave him a wink for the quick save. "My dad's kind of excited about this."

"And you?" Courtney wondered.

"I'm still thinking it over. Guess we'll see how it goes tonight." He gave Courtney a quick kiss on the cheek and headed to his car. "I'll see you guys tomorrow."

After a quick drive back home to drop off his car, he super sped to the DEO base using XLR8. A flash of green light appeared by the entrance before out walked Will who joined the other DEO agents heading to the main comm center as Director Henshaw finished with a mission briefing. "Mr. Detmer. You're late." Henshaw told him.

"Sorry, got caught up in traffic. What's going on?" He wondered.

"Our deep space sensor system picked up three incoming boogies heading to earth. No detection of a ship but we picked up biological readings so they're organic. We're still working on getting a clear image of whoever they are." Henshaw told him.

"Sir, images from our sensor are coming through." A technician told him.

"On screen." Henshaw ordered so the technician brought it up on the man screen. The image was fuzzy at first but it cleared up to show a deep space scanned image of three objects traveling through space at incredible speed.

"Clearing up images now and putting them through a multi-resonance scan." The technician stated and the image began to be digitally enhanced while every aspect of it was analyzed. "It would appear that there doesn't seem to be any kind of propulsion or vehicle and its light trail signifies its creating its own energy. Images are clearing up now."

Everyone looked up on the screen and they were able to see three different aliens wearing the same yellow and black suits with the same glowing yellow ring on their hands. Based on the scans they were able to get, the rings were the source of the energy and seemed to envelop the three aliens.

"No way…Yellow Lanterns. They are real." Will muttered.

"That they are. But there should only be one." Henshaw told him.

"Right. The red skinned one that fought Green Lantern in Coast city a year ago. Everyone on the Internet still has no idea what he was or why he had the same ring as Green Lantern." Will said, amazed at this discovery and embracing his superhero fanboy side. "Who are they?"

"We don't know. We've never been able to identity the Yellow Lantern when he first showed up and now that there are two more, that makes things even more complicated." Henshaw stated. "If they follow the same pattern and obsession for Green Lantern then they're on their way to Coast City. Will, head there now. We'll follow."

"On it." Will activated the Omnitrix and sped away as XLR8. A part of him was laser focused on this objective but the other part was beyond excited. Green Lantern was awesome and this could be his chance to finally meet him. Between this and meeting Superman, Hawkwoman and Batman, maybe he should start a superhero text group so they can keep in contact.

Coast City

Coast City was a similar Californian hub city like National City but further north. It was north of Los Angeles and only half an hour away from Edwards Air Force Base. On a good drive, National City and Coast City were only three hours apart. Due to its close proximity to an American military air force base, Coast City was home to several avionics firms but the biggest was Ferris Aircraft Inc. It was one of the leading aviation companies in the world specializing in advanced aviation concepts and employed more than half the people in Coast city. With that, it was one of the Airforce's biggest contractors for planes and everything avionics related along with being home to some of the country's greatest test pilots.

One such test pilot was Hal Jordan, a former Air Force pilot now test pilot for Ferris Aircraft. Think Maverick from Top Gun brought to life. He was cocky, stubborn, sarcastic, and kind of arrogant which served him well as a test pilot. He was pretty much fearless and showed it off by test flying some of Ferris Aircraft's more dangerous prototypes or pushing them past their limits. It's earned him the ire of many of his supervisors including CEO of Ferris Aircraft, Carol Ferris.

Hal just finished up another test flight for a special prototype Ferris Aircraft was doing for the Air Force and being Hal, strayed from the test parameters and his pushing of the prototype led to one of the engines nearly blowing out. The aircraft was pushed into the hangar where Hal opened up the cockpit and removed his helmet.

"Dammit, Hal!" The Ferris Aircraft mechanic shouted as several technicians and engineers rushed over to the aircraft and put out the smoke coming from one of the engines while others quickly ran diagnostics. "I told you not to push the engines like that! This is still a prototype!"

"And now we know that this prototype still has some work to be done." Hal remarked as he climbed out of his cockpit and landed next to the mechanic. "Starting with the engines. They're not too bad but the compensator blew when the speed and torque picked up. If the Air Force doesn't want these things to be a giant waste of money then that should probably be the first thing to fix."

"You're an asshole, you know that." The Mechanic punched Hal in the arm and rushed over to get to work.

"You're not the first one to say that to me." Hal remarked as he backed up into Carol. (1)

"Really, Hal? You had to go and make our job harder with the new prototype?" Carol asked him.

"Hello, Carol. How are you? You look lovely today. I love what you're doing with your hair." Hal told her and she just looked unamused. "I am sorry about the prototype but now we know that the engines need work if the Air Force is gonna want to buy these things in bulk. Not to mention some work could be done on the vertical steering."

"I swear, Hal, if you weren't the best test pilot we had my dad would have fired you years ago." Carol told him as she walked away and Hal quickly caught up to her.

"And so could you when you took over but you decided to keep me along because you know just how good I am. Which I have proven both in the air and on the ground." Hal insinuated as he raised his eyebrows. "How about we have dinner tonight and…remember what that was like?"

"On top of the numerous legal and HR policies that would break, I don't think so. Because it'll probably end like last time. Far…too…quickly." Carol told him before walking away.

"I think you mean too long." Hal stated and Carol hid her smirk as she walked away. "Too long. Way too long. Hours in fact."

One of the engineers walked over and took Hal's helmet. "Seriously, Hal. Of all the woman in Coast City, you go after the one who literally holds the fate of your job in her hands."

"What can I say? I like dangerous woman." Hal joked as he headed to the locker room to change out of his flight suit. He got dressed in his jeans, a t-shirt, and his old Air Force jacket when he saw a faint glow emanate from his pocket so he looked around to make sure he was alone which he was before taking out his Green Lantern Ring. It was solid green and made of a crystal-like alien metal with a green lantern on the face and a glowing green core.

At the moment, the core was blinking urgently which meant that danger was close so he slipped it on his middle finger and walked out of the building through a service entrance. He looked around to make sure there was no one around and no cameras before he clenched his fist and his ring glowed, enveloping Hal in a green aura of energy before it disappeared and he was wearing his Green Lantern Uniform. It was a mixture of green and black. His legs, arms and ribs were black but the rest of the suit was green including the mask on his face and the Green Lantern symbol on his chest. Once he was fully suited up, his ring let out a constant glow and the same aura surrounded him sort of like a shield as he flew up into the air and towards Coast City. (2)

He flew around Coast City with his ring scanning for anything out of the ordinary when his ring let out another series of warning beeps. Before he could react he was hit in the back by a yellow energy blast and crashed into a water fountain in the middle of a park. His impact made the nearby civilians scatter in fear while he picked his head out of the fountain and spit out some water. "Whew, that hurt." He remarked.

"You haven't changed a bit, Jordan. Head strong with no sense of awareness." Hal heard, recognizing the voice as he turned around to see Sinestro float down wearing a new yellow and black suit with some kind of lantern symbol on his chest. But what struck him most was the yellow ring he had on his hand.

"Sinestro. Looking good, dude. Have you gotten some work done? You don't look as red as you usually do." Hal remarked, hovering up into the air so he and Sinestro were eye level.

"Years ago, I found your sarcastic wit mildly amusing but not it's just irritating." Sinestro stated when he noticed Hal's gaze was on the Yellow Lantern ring on his finger. "Look familiar?"

"Yeah, it does. Last I remember was that ring being useless and the Guardians locking you up on the planet Qward." Hal pointed out.

"No thanks to you, Jordan but that's the thing with fear. It never goes away and only through fear can there be true order. Shame you never saw that." Sinestro said as his ring started to glow so Hal's started to glow as well.

"Don't do this, Sinestro. Let me help you. We were friends once." Hal pleaded.

"I'm afraid that time has long passed." Sinestro held out his hand. "Give me your ring and I'll leave your city and the humans alone. This is your only warning."

Hal looked down at his ring and tightened his fist. "I can't do that, Sinestro."

"Then there's nothing more to discuss."

Sinestro and Hal raised their hands and threw out punches with their ring hands. Their fists connected and their rings energy battled for dominance before the energy build up knocked them both back. Hal flipped through the air before he managed to steady himself and flew towards Sinestro who flew away. There was an high speed aerial alien chase between the Green Lantern and a Yellow Lantern. Hal fired energy blasts from his ring that Sinestro swerved, spun, and flew around to avoid getting hit. Sinestro may now have a yellow power ring but he was a former Green Lantern and one of the best for decades so he knew what he was doing. Hal's ring glowed and he summoned a pair of .50 caliber miniguns next to him which spun up and spit out thousands of green bullets a second.

Sinestro got creative with his flying so Hal summoned up a pair of Surface-to-air missile launchers next to the miniguns and fired a barrage. Sinestro erected a large yellow dome around himself for cover. Hal saw the dome so he created a giant tennis racket construct and smacked Sinestro into the air like he was a tennis ball. Sinestro stumbled through the air before he managed to recover and burst out of his dome shield and summoned a series of buzzsaw constructs towards Jordan. Hal summoned a series of wrecking balls constructs on chains and sent them at the buzzsaws. The two different constructs clashed in the air and exploded into pieces. Sinestro summoned a giant claw construct to ensnare and capture Jordan but he quickly made a giant spring construct that kept the claw from closing. It gave him the moment to summon a giant drill that tore through the claw and let him fly straight at Sinestro where he punched him with a giant boxing glove construct.

Sinestro flew through the air and smashed through a billboard set up on top of a building before he crashed down into a baseball field. His sudden appearance caused the bystanders on the field to run away quickly. Hal flew over and landed down next to Sinestro before using his ring to summon a series of chains that wrapped around him and kept his limbs separated while putting giant weights on his limbs before making a giant pair of tweezers that began to pull the ring off. "Don't struggle, Sinestro. This will be over soon and you'll be in a new cell you can't escape from this time."

"I don't think so, Jordan. One lesson you never really learns was to mind your surroundings." Sinestro taunted as Hal's ring began to blink again. Before he could react he was hit from the side by someone large and powerful. Whatever hit him had actually tackled him so his body dug through the ground while a giant claw was grasped around his neck.

Hal got a good look at whatever attacked him and it was a large Vornian. They were an alien species that were humanoid with two arms, two legs and a body but they looked like a mix between a crocodile and a rabid pit bull. Its mouth had two giant top fangs and bottom tusks and its yellow eyes had the look of someone that was feared by many. The other striking thing about the alien besides its appearance was the yellow power ring on its hand as well as the yellow and black suit it was wearing.

Sinestro got up from the ground as the constructs around him faded when Hal was attacked. "Like I said, you never learned to mind your surroundings."

"Puny human. You smell delicious." The alien Vornian remarked as it summoned a yellow blade only for Hal's ring to glow and knock the alien off him with a giant airbag construct.

"And your breath smells awful." Hal stated, getting back to his feet, and seeing Sinestro stand side by side with the Vornian. "Got yourself a pet, Sinestro?"

"More like someone else who understands the power of fear. Meet Arkillo. A powerful warrior whose enemies feared him because of his incredible strength and brutality and the slaves he commanded knew not to challenge him." Sinestro introduced his new Yellow Lantern to Hal. "A fine person who inherit a Yellow power ring, wouldn't you say?"

"There's two of them?" Hal asked when he was grabbed from behind by a yellow energy beam and then trapped by various tendril constructs. He turned his head to see another alien. This one was a blue skinned female Talokite wearing a yellow Lantern outfit that resembled more of a cloak mixed with a swimsuit which would be hot if not for the yellow power ring on her hand. "Three?"

"Allow me to introduce you to Lyssa Dark. A fine woman whose fearful ways enslaved and controlled many. A fine inheritor and architect of fear." Sinestro boasted. Arkillo used his ring to help keep Hal restrained. He added on chains, and keeping his limbs separated and encased in locks. "They are but the first of many. Their rings were repurposed from Green Lanterns who no longer had a need for them. They have been fine Yellow Lanterns but the more the merrier. Now we can take your ring."

Hal struggled and thrashed in an attempt to get free. He concentrated and tried to make a construct to break free but it was not easy as two Yellow Lanterns were restraining him.

"Try as hard as you want, Green Lantern but it is over." Arkillo taunted when he was hit in the face by a large glob of green goo that stunk. "What the—"

He was hit by several more globs of goo and before Lyssa or Sinestro could help him they were hit by the stinking goo as well. They tried to clean themselves and shake the goo off but the liquid was an immobilizing adhesive. They moved their limbs and tried to rip the goo off but it wouldn't budge that easily. Arkillo's enhanced Vornian strength began to slowly rip apart the goo when he and the other two Lanterns were suddenly hit by large fireballs. The fire ignited the goo like methane and all three Lanterns were knocked back by the explosions and crashed to the ground.

Hal was freed from the yellow constructs and he saw Sinestro and the others were attacked but he didn't see what did the attacking. He saw a flash of a green light out of the corner of his eye which is when an armored man flew down and hovered next to him. The armor seemed state of the art with jet boots and a pair of flight wings on the back but the most striking thing was the hoodie and skull mask/helmet he was wearing.

"Wow. Green Lantern. Big fan by the way." Will said to him only for Green Lantern to look at him weird.

"Thanks. And thanks for the assist I guess but you should get out of here. This isn't typical robbers or mercenaries so you should head back to National City." Lantern warned him.

"Right well, I'm not your typical hooded superhero. I'm actually here because of them." Will pointed down to the three Yellow Lanterns who picked themselves up out of the ground. "Dealing with aliens and alien threats to earth is kind of my thing."

"Yeah, not to rain on your parade uh…Skullmaster, but you're a little out of your wheelhouse. Protecting this whole part of the galaxy is my thing." Lantern told him.

"Sure, it is." Will flew down to the ground.

"It's true." Lantern stated, following him and the two landed across from the three Lanterns.

"Apologies for the explosive entry but I'm afraid Earth is closed for today. I'm going to kindly ask that you three take your business elsewhere." Will told them only for Sinestro to sneer.

"Humans. So proud and think they're more important than they actually are." Sinestro remarked.

"Fair enough point but this isn't your planet. I don't know what your beef is with Green Lantern but you're trespassing on earth. On behalf of the Department of Extranormal Operations, I'm going to ask you one last time. Leave this planet peacefully or you will be subject to forceful action. I highly recommend the first one." Will stated.

"Forceful action? What are you a government agent under that suit?" Hal wondered.

"Trying to prevent a battle that will destroy the city." He replied and Hal nodded.

"You heard him, Sinestro. Let's end this now before things get out of hand." Hal warned him only for the red skinned alien to chuckle.

"Arkillo, you can have the human." Sinestro told him.

"How fun." Arkillo raised his ring hand and prepared to fire an energy blast when Will activated his shield and threw it in the blink of an eye. It flew through the air and hit Arkillo right in the jaw, staggering the large Vornian before it flew back to his arm. Hal ran him over with a large train construct and Sinestro and Lyssa flew into the air to avoid it. They fired energy beams at Hal who created a shield as Will activated his flight wings and flew past him before firing a barrage of explosive discs at the two Yellow Lanterns. The two Lanterns flew away as Hal shot energy beams at them.

"I'm serious, dude. Get out of here now. You don't know what you're dealing with." Hal warned him.

"Judging by the energy readings my suits picking up from those three, I'm wagering a guess that they're using similar alien technology like your Green ring only theirs is Yellow. And last I checked I saved you from them so you can't take them on alone." Will reminded him, quickly boosting to the side to avoid an energy beam from Arkillo who had gotten back to his feet. "Great, reptile mouth is back up. Well, like it or now dude it's the two of us against the three of them. Keep your head on a swivel, old man!"

Will flew to the ground towards Arkillo while Hal looked at him with a confused look. "Old man? I'm only 29!" Hal shouted when he was hit in the back by an energy blast. He quickly got his balance and saw it was Sinestro and Lyssa Dark so powered up his ring and flew after them.

Will flew down towards Arkillo who raised his ring and fired energy blasts at him. Will got creative with the flying, doing some spins, swerves, and turns before he tucked his wings in for a spin and hit Arkillo in the face with a spinning corkscrew drop kick. The alien stumbled back as Will landed on his feet and activated his shield. Arkillo summoned a pair of yellow alien snake constructs that lunged at Will who ran forward. He slid forward on the ground and then pushed off into the air to avoid two of the snake constructs where he then tucked into a butterfly spin and bashed the third construct with his shield. Arkillo summoned some more snake constructs so Will fired an explosive disk barrage from his forearm launcher that had enough force to blow them to pieces. The small cloud of smoke provided the perfect cover as Will came flying through using his jet boots with his shield held in front of him and bashed Arkillo in the chest. He pushed the large alien back a bit before Arkillo managed to get his footing and stop himself from getting pushed any further. He grabbed Will by the arm and hurled him to the ground which he recovered by pushing up with his arms and moving into a 720 butterfly spin and throwing his shield which Arkillo caught and threw back.

Will landed in a crouch and managed to catch his shield but the force did cause him to stagger. "A shield? How primitive."

"Well, there's a human saying, if it ain't broke don't fix it." Will remarked before putting his shield back on his arm and retracting it back into the suit before activating his watch and turning the dial. "And there's another saying. Don't judge a book by it's cover. And that applies to me more than anyone else."

"You talk too much." Arkillo created a pair of giant alien guns and blasted Will who pushed the dial down on the Omnitrix. A flash of green light appeared in his place as Arkillo kept up the salvo with his alien guns but instead of hearing the satisfying sound of construct plasma tearing through flesh saw that the beams from his guns were deflected off. He stopped firing to see a large Petrosapien step into view where the human used to be.

"Like I said. Don't judge a book by its cover." Diamondhead fired a barrage of crystals that Arkillo quickly blocked by summoning a shield. But that was a distraction as Diamondhead had cleared the distance and landed a solid right hook on Arkillo's face before landing a gut shot. Arkillo responded with a headbutt and despite the Petrosapien's dense, crystalline body it had the power to stagger him back. Diamondhead fired a barrage of crystals from his hands and Arkillo summoned a shield to block them yet again but he punched the ground and summoned a cluster of crystal spikes that sprouted from the pavement. The spikes burrowed through the ground towards Arkillo but his shield held strong so Diamondhead tightened his fist, causing the crystals to spread and grow around his body.

Arkillo flew into the air and summoned another shield from his body to break off the crystals before firing energy blasts at Diamondhead from his ring. Diamondhead ran on the ground, evading his shots before he dived forward and rolled to a crouch where he morphed his hands into a large crystal reflector that deflected the energy blast back at Arkillo and hit him in the chest. He thrust his arms into the air and giant diamond pillars sprouted from the ground towards Arkillo who summoned giant hammers and smashed them to pieces before creating a giant alien drill to rip apart the Petrosapien.

Diamondhead saw what was coming so he hit the Omnitrix and in a flash of green light he had transformed into his Czarnian form. While there was still a lot about this species he didn't know about and likely wouldn't know given that Lobo wiped them all out, he did know that from his battle against Superman that the species was likely the toughest there was. He appeared in his Czarnian form which looked like Lobo only with less steroid muscles and the cigar and managed to catch the giant drill with his bare hands. Will's nickname for his Czarnian form? Ajax.

Why? Honestly…he saw the word ajax on a cleaning bottle and thought it fit. Stupid reason but it works. Besides, what else would he call himself? Lupo?

Ajax caught the giant drill and despite the pain as it began to tear into his skin he managed to crush the construct with his bare hands so it shattered into pieces. "Is that all you got, dip wad!" Ajax shouted when he realized what he said. "Ugh, great. I'm starting to sound like Lobo."

He looked up and saw another hammer heading his way which ended up slamming him into the ground. Arkillo thought that was the end of that when there was another flash of light. Arkillo kept smashing the same spot over and over when he was suddenly punched in the face and flew through the air. He steadied himself to see what hit him but didn't see anything when he was suddenly punched again and again and then grabbed by the arm before he was hurled through the sky.

Green Lantern was still fighting a two on one fight against Sinestro and Lyssa Dark which gave them the advantage. He'd lock arms with Sinestro and punched him with a boxing glove construct and then throw him to the ground only for Lyssa Dark to blast him in the back. After blasting her into a gasoline truck that then exploded, Sinestro would then hit him from behind. Hal elbowed him throat and kicked him in the face before creating a large rocket launcher to blast him point blank only for Lyssa to blast him in the side. The rocket flew off course and hit the ground along with Hal.

"This…could be going better." Hal groaned in pain as he looked at his ring and saw it was blinking meaning that he was running low on power. His ring needed a recharge which was kind of hard to do given he was in the middle of a fight. Sinestro and Lyssa aimed their rings at him only for Arkillo to get thrown into Lyssa and knock them both through the air. Sinestro turned to see what happened only to get punched in the face by something he didn't see. Sinestro recovered in the air and tried to look for whatever hit him only to get hit across the face and then under the jaw. Sinestro was knocked further into the air when something wrapped around his arms and trapped them around his midsection.

"What treachery is this?!" Sinestro shouted, struggling to get free when he saw something shimmer into view. He saw the invisible force that trapped his arms were the elongated arms of green skinned creature wearing black and white armor, a cape and had a unique symbol on its belt.

"No treachery, just Martian shapeshifting." Manhunter remarked as saw Arkillo and Lyssa dark fly towards him so he whipped Sinestro at them like a baseball. Both Yellow Lanterns managed to evade so Sinestro flew past them only for Hal to knock Arkillo away with a bat and then blast Lyssa with a rocket launcher construct to the face. Lyssa was knocked to the ground but Arkillo recovered and fired an energy blast at Hal which missed as Manhunter flew towards him. Arkillo fired a few more energy blasts that he avoided before summoning a giant net construct to ensnare him. Luckily, Manhunter turned intangible and flew through the net before punching Arkillo in the face yet again and grabbing him by the arm. He spun him through the air and threw him towards Green Lantern who knocked him away with a giant mallet.

Hal flew up and looked at the Martian wondering where it came from when he saw the symbol on his belt. The same symbol he saw the vigilante guy had on his wrist which made him think that this was him. "You're a shapeshifter?" Hal asked just as the Omnitrix began beeping red and after a flash of red light Manhunter was replaced with Will in his armor.

Will activated his jet boots to stay in the air. "Sort of. Helps in dealing with the alien problems I encounter." He looked at the watch. "It timed out faster than normal. I was hoping it would last longer."

Hal saw Sinestro, Lyssa, and Arkillo get up and glare at the two humans in anger. "Well, you got their attention now. You any good without transforming?"

"I can handle myself. Granted those times are usually against humans and now Yellow Lanterns." Will activated his flight wings and summoned his shield on his arm before pulling his sword handle from his back and activating it.

"Perfect, just perfect." Hal muttered, summoning a giant mech suit construct. It had a giant claw for one hand and a large minigun on the other. The shoulders opened up to reveal rocket pods that fired a missile barrage at Lyssa and Arkillo while he sped up his minigun and blasted Sinestro. All three Yellow Lanterns flew through the air to avoid being hit. "Take care of the giant alligator and the woman in the dress. Sinestro's mine."

"Right." Will flew forward as Hal fired a missile barrage to give him cover. He swerved and spun through the air as Arkillo fired an energy beam from his ring only for it to ricochet off his shield. Will fired an explosive disk barrage at Arkillo which he blocked with a protective bubble before shooting some at Lyssa Dark who captured them in a sphere and threw them back at him. He banked up into the air to avoid it when Lyssa snagged his leg using her ring and she pulled him towards him. He struggled to get free and his wings and jet boots tried to keep him from getting pulled when Arkillo tackled him from behind. The large Vornian grabbed him from behind and summon an alien iron maiden like device that captured his limbs and began piercing into his skin. His armor managed to tough it out but the construct kept trying.

Will starting to panic as he wasn't sure what to do in this scenario. That's when his HUD assessed the situation and formulated a plan to get free. The shield on his arm extended out and the edge sharped liked a buzzsaw before it began spinning and cut through the construct holding his arm. Seeing his arm free he quickly cut through iron maiden restraints holding his leg and activated his jet boots, taking him and Arkillo into the air before his wings extended out and knocked the alien off of him. He turned and smacked Arkillo in the face with his wings before kicking him in the face and then slashing him across the chest with his sword. Arkillo's ring aura protected him but it knocked him back a bit and iron maiden construct faded. Will saw Lyssa create alien serpent constructs toward him so he flew to the side. He bashed the constructs with his shield and sliced through them with his sword. When he neared Lyssa he threw his shield which she bat aside like it was nothing. She created a pair of giant claws to grab him so Will's jet pack gave him a slight boost and he flipped over the claw constructs just enough so they didn't grab him and moved into a spin before hitting her with his wings.

She knocked him back and fired an energy blast that he managed to avoid when Arkillo flew towards him so he flew away as fast as he could. Lyssa and Arkillo chased after him with one firing energy blasts from his ring while the other sent out constructs to try and grab him. Will got creative with his flying to avoid getting hit or grabbed and his aerial acrobatics was very impressive. He looked back and his HUD scanned the two aliens to try and find a weakness when it highlighted both rings as a possible weakness. He banked through the air, avoiding energy blasts and claws before heading back to Green Lantern.

Hal was currently fighting against Sinestro using his giant mech construct while Sinestro created a giant four legged, eight-limbed alien construct in a battle. It was like something out of a kaiju movie and would be an awesome photo opportunity if not for the current alien battle happening. Hal punched Sinestro's monster and pulled it closer to fire a missile barrage in its face only for the eight arms to grab the mech at various parts and pull it apart. Hal struggled to keep his construct strong but his ring was dangerously low on power and the construct couldn't hold. It soon broke apart into pieces and he was knocked into the street, making a large crater.

Will saw Green Lantern in trouble and went to save him when he was blasted in the back by an energy blast. He stumbled through the air before being grabbed and thrown into the same crater as Green Lantern, landing on top of him. "Just great." Hal pushed him off and saw Sinestro's alien construct come down to punch him into the ground so he made a protective dome that managed to block the punch. He staggered a bit but the protective dome kept him and Will safe as Sinestro kept punching the barrier.

Hal held his ring arm and focused to keep the dome up as Arkillo and Lyssa flew next to Sinestro and fired continuous energy beams from their rings at the dome. That combined with Sinestro's continuous punching of the dome was enough that it began to crack. Will looked and saw Green Lantern concentrating to keep the shield up but it wasn't going to last much longer.

"What's going on?!" He asked.

"We're about to die because we're out numbered and my ring's running out of power." Hal remarked sarcastically as he tried to focus. Hearing that, Will remembered that his HUD highlighted the Yellow Lantern rings as a possible weakness.

"What do you mean power?" Will asked.

"This isn't the right time to talk about that!" Hal shouted.

"What power?" Will asked again.

"My ring's running out of juice. I need to recharge it!" Hal shouted as more and more cracks appeared in the dome.

"It's like a battery." Will muttered. "Are their rings the same? They need power to work?!"

"Uh…yeah! Why?!" Hal shouted as the Omnitrix turned green, having recharged.

"Because I think I got just the alien to help! Hang on!" Will activated the Omnitrix and slammed the dial down before transforming in a flash of green light.

"Hang on to what?!" Hal shouted as part of the dome had finally caved in.

"Give it up, Jordan. Your ring's nearly out of power whereas ours have more than enough." Sinestro told him.

"If that's the case…" They heard a distorted-buzzed liked voice say before a spark of green electricity appeared in front of him and it was Nosedeenian. Or more accurately, Will having transformed into Buzzshock. "…you don't mind giving some up, do you?"

He let out an electric cackle and began duplicating into dozens of copies that zipped around with green sparks of electricity around Sinestro, Arkillo, and Lyssa. The sudden appearance of the alien caught them off guard allowing the Buzzshock copies to let out a sonic scream that made the three Yellow Lanterns cover their ears in pain and their constructs faded. With them distracted some of the copies turned into green bolts of electricity and sparked around their bodies to disorient them and then moving to their rings where each copy managed to siphon some of the ring's power. Arkillo was the most vulnerable to the loud sonic scream which let Buzzshock absorb the most energy from his ring. He was able to a get some from Sinestro and Lyssa before the Lanterns knocked the Buzzshock's away.

Hal managed to get a reprieve from their attack when Buzzshock attacked them before they zipped away. Sinestro, Arkillo, and Lyssa saw the alien nuisance was gone and blasted Hal who fired an energy beam to counter theirs but given three against one and his low power his energy beam was being pushed back. Hal concentrated when he saw the Buzzshocks surround him. "How about a little energy boost?"

All the Buzzshocks fired green bolts of electricity at Hal's ring and began charging it. Hal saw what was happening and felt more power in his ring which gave him the confidence and willpower to increase the power of his energy beam. Sinestro and the others saw they were losing so they concentrated only to find that their rings weren't as charged up as before. "What did you do?!" Sinestro shouted.

"Simple. Did a little energy absorption from your rings to his. He's got an extra battery." Buzzshock remarked as they continued powering up Hal's ring until it was just about completely charged.

Hal concentrated and his energy beam pushed Sinestro and the others back further and further. "In Brightest Day, In Blackest Night. No evil shall escape my sight. Let those who worship evil's might, beware my power…Green Lantern's Light!"

Invoking his oath gave Hal the concentration to create a strong enough energy beam to overtake the Yellow Lantern's. Sinestro, Lyssa, and Arkillo were blasted through the air and landed halfway across the city in a park. The three groaned in pain with Sinestro pushing himself out of the crater he was in. His ring was blinking meaning it was low on power and Lyssa saw hers was as well. They looked over at Arkillo who was rubbed his head in pain but his ring was no longer glowing and his Yellow Lantern suit was gone leaving him in the native clothes of his planet which were alien-like robes. His ring had run out of power.

Sinestro saw the green glow coming from the distance and with his ring so low on power he couldn't win this fight. "We're leaving." Sinestro grumbled as he and Lyssa used what little power they had and made a hasty exit.

Arkillo tried to use his ring but it was out of power so he shook and banged it on the ground to try and get it to work. "Not working, isn't it?" Arkillo looked up and saw Hal hover down in front of him. "The rings are a powerful tool but useless without power."

A green streak of electricity zipped nearby and Buzzshock appeared behind him. "All great power must have a limit." He remarked before letting out another sonic scream. Arkillo held his ears in pain while Hal summoned a pair earmuff constructs for himself before knocking out Arkillo with a powered punch across the face. He and Buzzshock saw the yellow trails of light leave earth and head to space. "Where are they going?"

"If I had to guess, someplace to recharge their rings. Nice plan…for a walking, talking battery." Hal joked, seeing the tiny anthropomorphic battery pick up the depowered ring.

"You know the saying. Never judge a book by its cover." Buzzshock replied as the Omnitrix beeped red and after a flash of red light he was back as Will. "Whew. Going Buzzshock always leaves me feeling like I drank two shots of espresso mixed with a Red Bull."

"I can only imagine." Hal said, looking at him up and down. The armor was advanced and pretty sophisticated but didn't seem alien…except for the watch. Given what the guy said about fighting aliens and those transformations, only alien technology could do that. "You know, I've been around the Milky Way a few times and even other galaxies but I've never seen a device that could turn a human into an alien. Unless you're not human to begin with."

"No, I'm human. Born and raised on earth. I'd show you but I've got a secret identity to protect, just like you." Will told him so Hal scanned him with his ring. "Is that thing gonna make me sick?"

"If I didn't know any better, I'd say you sound like a kid." Hal remarked and Will smirked under his helmet. Hal's ring then projected a hologram of Will from head to toe in his armor. His scans showed that he was human with advanced armor and the watch was definitely alien but it couldn't identify what it was or where it came from. Hal pointed his ring at the watch and scanned it again. "Ring, identify object."

"Error. Unable to identify." The ring replied earning a genuine look of shock from Green Lantern.

"But that's impossible. The Ring knows everything the Guardians of the Universe do and the Guardians know everything." Hal stated.

"Guess not. But don't worry, Green Lantern. The watch is safe in my hands. Even got the seal of approval from Superman. I'm using it to protect the planet with the help of some good people." Will told him.

"Who?" Hal wondered as they heard some footsteps and turned to see Arkillo back up on his feet only for a giant electrified net to come from the sky and trap him.

"Them." Will pointed up so Hal could see the DEO VTOLs and helicopters that just arrived.

Hal wasn't familiar with what department they were with but they looked military. Some men rappelled down from the aerial vehicles and surrounded Arkillo with their weapons. Director Henshaw then rappelled down soon after and approached Green Lantern and Will. "Status report?" Director Henshaw ordered.

"One alien captive with a depowered Yellow Lantern Ring." Will held up the ring that no longer had its glowing yellow color or aura. It was greyed out indicating it had no power to function.

Director Henshaw looked at the large alien being restrained and taken into custody with agents having their weapons trained on him. "And the other two?" He asked.

"Fled the planet after we stopped them." Will gestured to himself and then Green Lantern. "Not sure where they're going now."

"Well done. Thank you for the assistance, Green Lantern but we'll take it from here. As of this moment, the alien is under the jurisdiction of the DEO and will be detained." Director Henshaw told him.

Hal looked around at the small army taking Arkillo away. Normally, he would have taken him to the Guardians but knowing that Sinestro and Lyssa escaped he could let this go. "Fine by me. I'm not one to step on any toes anyway."

Hal walked away and Director Henshaw subtly motioned to Green Lantern. Will nodded so he walked after him. "Hey, GL." Will called out as he walked over. "Uh, you don't have to worry about Arkillo. He'll be secure at the DEO. And I'll put in a good word for you with my boss."

"Thanks, but I'm not much of a joiner. Besides, working with some black ops group isn't really my thing." Hal told him.

"Fair enough but we know you're a good guy so you're on our good list. You're in the same company as Superman now."

"Right. I saw on the news about your little battle in Metropolis with the Man of Steel. That was amateur hour but you handled yourself pretty well in the big leagues even if I did save your ass." Hal smugly stated.

"Uh, sorry GL but I'm the one who saved you. Twice actually. Once when I first showed up. And second when I recharged your ring. If I didn't come in time I think this battle would have gone differently." Will pointed out.

"Yeah, I don't think so. I would have been fine." Hal stated and Will just shrugged.

"Sure, three against one is you being fine."

"I had them handled."

"We had them handled. Maybe to prevent this from happening we should consider teaming up. You know, monthly meetings to make sure you're on top of your game. You could even be my sidekick." Will joked.

"Whoa, Green Lantern is no one's sidekick there Skullmaster. If anything, you're my sidekick. I'll call you, Green Skull." Hal pointed out.

"Yeah, that's not sticking and you're not calling me that. I'm not a sidekick. You're a sidekick, old man."

"I'm not old." Hal shot back as the two glared at one another before they both started to chuckle.

"All right, maybe you're not old…but you are good. Maybe not as good as Superman…but really good." Will joked.

"And you're dressed up like Batman mixed with Jack Skellington…but you're not bad yourself, dude. And that was some pretty impressive flying. You ever want to know how to really fly then give me a call." Hal powered up his ring and the ring's aura surrounded him.

"GL…how concerned should I tell my boss that Sinestro may come back?" Will asked him and Hal's face went a little serious.

"I'm on my way to figure that out now. Sinestro wasn't here to take over the planet…he was here for me." Hal answered.

"I overheard some of your banter and it sounds like you two have a history." Will pointed out.

"That's putting it mildly." Hal muttered.

"I know I'm not exactly sure on what's going on…but a year ago there was only one Yellow Lantern. Now there are three. How many more are there?" Will wondered.

"That's what I'm gonna find out." Hal's ring glowed and he hovered into the air. "Keep your head on a swivel…uh, Skullmaster."

Will just sighed and shook his head. "I don't care what Catco media is saying, I'm not going by that. It's stupid."

"Agreed. Better think up of a new name before it sticks. I still think Green Skull is a good name." Hal joked.

"Yeah, maybe you should stick to fighting aliens because naming things isn't something you're good at." Will told him just as Hal flew into the air and was soon flying off planet. He looked down at his hand at the Yellow Lantern Ring and tossed it up before catching it. He walked over to Director Henshaw just as the DEO agents finished putting Arkillo into a helicopter for transport back to the DEO desert base for imprisonment. He told Director Henshaw what Green Lantern told him. If Sinestro's real target was Green Lantern and he was now heading off world then maybe it was a good thing. At the very least it would prevent them from coming back but that was hopeful thinking.

Hal was flying away from earth to meet with the Guardians of the Universe and tell them about Sinestro and two other Yellow Lanterns. One was in custody but with Sinestro still out there then and his statement that the yellow rings were taken from other Green Lanterns, they needed to stop him. But that's not all he was going to tell the Guardians. He also wanted to know if they knew anything about that watch Skullmaster had. The ring was not able to identify what it was but it was alien and given how it was able to turn that guy into different aliens who were all powerful they needed to know who made it and if there were more out there. Unfortunately for Hal, the Guardians wouldn't be able to give him any solid answers. They may claim to know everything in the universe but that's just their proud and arrogant nature when in fact there were other species and parts of the universe that they knew nothing about.

Still…now that the Guardians knew about the Omnitrix the question was this. Would they let something that powerful remain on earth? Guess we'll have to wait and see.

June 2008: National City, USA

It's been a week since Will's encounter with Green Lantern. He left for space and hadn't been back yet so the DEO kept extra watch on the planet and their deep space sensors incase something came up but nothing yet. It was the middle of June now and with it came the end of the school year for Will. His finals went great and the same for his friends. Thank god for Beth and Yolanda. His junior year was done which was great news and gave him two months of Summer vacation. Normally he'd just hang out with his friends, have fun, go to the beach, maybe go camping and enjoy the sweet freedom of not having to go to school. In summers past he's done all that with the occasional summer job to make some spare cash. While he still planned to do all that, his plans had to be adjusted a bit. Given that he would no longer be in school, his training at the DEO would take up the time he'd normally be in school. Director Henshaw called it his summer school training program which everyone else found hilarious. Guess the summer of sleeping in and taking it easy wasn't going to happen. On the plus side, he didn't need to get a summer job thanks to the mission he and the DEO undertook involving that Mayan mask and the sword that crumbled. The gold they found provided some nice paychecks to all the DEO agents including Will and his dad. Said gold made sure Will was set college so he and his dad didn't have to worry about it.

It was a Tuesday morning which started with Will and his dad waking up early to report to the DEO base. Max got to work doing his job tending to the garage and doing maintenance on all DEO vehicles while Will continued his training. Director Henshaw set up his training so that he'd do his mental training in the morning which involved studying everything the DEO had on alien technology, culture, and biology. That was along with studying the DEO handbook so he knew every guideline, regulation, and rule there was. There were even tests which he thinks some of the agents did to deliberately mess with him and he could tell by the smirks on their faces. He'd break for lunch and afterward he start his physical training and combat drills. Max still stressed he didn't want Will to handle a gun until he graduated high school so Will just got better with his armor and all the weapons he created including his shield, sword, the knives, and his forearm launcher. Max also taught Will some aspects of the job that he knew about including how to pilot the vehicles. Will was a gifted flyer so getting his pilot license in the future might be something he should think about.

It was a lot of training and honestly, Will felt like his school year never ended.

He was currently sitting in one of the DEO training rooms which was suspiciously set up like a classroom. Probably another joke from Director Henshaw. One of the agents was lecturing with a power point cued up about the DEO's procedures involving human-alien interactions with non-aggressive species. This was something the public didn't know but there were some aliens on Earth that weren't a threat but came here as refugees escaping war or famine. The DEO tracked them in a watchlist file where they were registered incase something happened. All the aliens on the list weren't a threat like Fort Rozz escapees. They were just like anyone else who had fled their home and came to a new place to have a fresh start. Most of the aliens were in National City and residing in the western part of the city. Many of them were able to pass off as human so they could get regular jobs but those that couldn't worked for alien friendly people. Unfortunately, they were very rare.

Will had his right elbow propped up on his desk with his head cradled by his hand and was starting to drift as he listened to the agent continue his lecture. More and more he started to drift before he closed eyes and fell asleep. He had a very nice nap for about five minutes but like all good things it came to an end via a yard stick on the top of the head.

"Ow…" Will rubbed his head in pain as he saw the agent with a disapproving look. "Really? A yard stick on the head?"

"Pay attention." The agent told him before getting back to the lesson. Will sighed and listened with the lesson continuing on for another hour until they stopped for lunch.

Will sat at the commissary where he had his brown paper bag with him. Inside was a sandwich, chips, an apple, and a soda. He munched on his sandwich when his phone buzzed and saw it was a text from Courtney. It read, Having Fun. What about you? With the text was a selfie of photo of Courtney at her gymnastics gym for her summer training. She was hanging upside down via the bars and smiling. Will chuckled and decided to be funny so he looked around before using the camera on his phone to take a selfie. It was just him eating his sandwich and looking bored. He texted it to her and replied, Eating lunch out of a brown paper bag. It's like I never left school.

"What are you doing?"

"GAH!" Will jumped and saw it was his dad walking over with his lunch tray from the commissary. "Don't do that."

"Sorry, couldn't help it." Max sat down with Will and took a sip of water. "So, I heard you took a nap during your morning lesson."

"Yeah, and Isaac hit me on the head with a yard stick. Honestly, it's like I never left school." Will remarked and Max chuckled.

"Yeah, Director Henshaw thought it'd be funny and it is. Heh-heh." Max chuckled, putting some salt and pepper on his salad before opening his crackers for his soup. "How are things going with Courtney?"

"Good. Luckily, she's as Gymnastics camp for the summer during the day. It makes things easier given Director Henshaw's training schedule. She's at camp while I'm training so we'll hang out after or on the weekends." Will answered.

"And has she brought up the Omnitrix?" Max wondered and got a nod in response.

"I told her it was a gift from you." Will held it up and looked at it. "Just kind of wish whoever made this made it look like a more subtle watch. It's kind of bulky."

"Well, if we ever find out who created it then maybe you can give him a comment card." Max joked as the two at their lunch.

Two hours later…

Will was in a training room for the physical part of his day. He was wearing shorts and an athletic short and after getting in some stretching and some quick cardio, he got into the combat portion of his training. He wrapped his hands up and sparred against one of the agents wearing gloves. Straights, uppercuts, jabs, hooks, and body shots like something out of the Rocky movies. The agent tested his speed, precision along with his blocking and dodging before moving into his grappling and ground control with Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and more combat training with his Muay Thai and Marine CQC. He physical training sessions ended with some light weight lifting, strength building, and cardio in a workout circuit he did with the other agents. That was the hardest part and the most intense.

"All right, Circuit One! Two minute intervals! Let's go! Start!" The agent in charge of training shouted as everyone started at their stations. Each station was different. One agent was climbing up and down a rope hanging from a ceiling, another was doing ring pull ups, another doing barbell squat, and another was doing burpees. Will was at the bench press station, already caked with sweat from his combat training so he was running low on gas but toughed through it.

"Time, switch!" The agent shouted so everyone changed station. Will moved over to the ring pull ups and started but was moving a little slow. "Pick it up, kid. Let's go. Time, rotation!"

Will moved to the kettlebell station and then the box jump station and his final one was the rope climb. He grabbed the rope and slowly pulled himself up the rope to get to the bell that was hanging about 20 feet in the air. The rope climb was a pain in the ass but he was already starting to waver due to being tired and after the first three shuffles up, he stopped moving and his feet started to drag down.

"Keep going! Never give up! Never back down! Come on, pick it up!" The agent shouted at Will motivating him.

"ARGH!" Will shouted and took a deep breath before he continued climbing up. Slowly, but he was getting there.

"Push yourself!" The agent shouted as Will reached up and hit the bell. "Time."

Will dropped to the ground and gasped for air with heavy breaths. "Uh…that sucked."

"Get used to it. This is going to be your life from now on." The agent in charge of training told him before helping him back to his feet. "You're training is only gonna get harder from here on."

"Can't we go back to the old training?" Will joked only for the agent to chuckle and pat him on the back.

"Get some rest. We'll pick up again tomorrow."

The agent walked away as the others grabbed their towels and drank some water. "Yeah, I'm looking forward to that." Will muttered as he left to get cleaned up.

Later that night…

Will and Courtney met up for a nice date. Courtney had a full day at Gymnastics camp while Will had training at the DEO but just told her he was working at his dad's avionics company. The two decided on a nice picnic and with it being at night they decided to do it in Courtney's backyard since her mom wasn't that big on her being out at a park a night. Still, they were given some privacy and laid out on a blanket. They had dinner, talked, and then laid down together on a blanket and looked at the stars. It was a very clear night so the view was incredible.

"It looks so peaceful and quiet up there, doesn't it?" Will said and Courtney hummed before hugging him from the side and laying her head on his chest.

"I could lay out here all night…" Courtney told him as Will leaned his head back to see Barbara taking a peak out a window to check up on them but she smiled and left them alone.

"Definitely something we should do again." Will told her, taking a deep breath and enjoying this relaxing moment.

"Maybe we should talk to the others and go on a camping trip in August? My Gymnastics camp will have started to slow down by then so I'll have some free days." Courtney suggested. "Just us, the others, a fire place, smores, some peace and quiet."

"Listening to Ed whine about the lack of concrete for his skateboard and then Yolanda or Beth complain about the bugs and having to pee without a bathroom." Will joked and Courtney chuckled. "But that could be fun. My parents and I used to go camping a lot when I was younger so I know my way around a campsite. I could fish and cook our dinner with ease."

"If we ever run out of prepared or packaged food we'll bring with us but sure, you can have your Paul Bunyan moment." Courtney said, leaning up to look at him. "Maybe we could find a campsite with a lake and I can wear my new blue bikini?"

"Oh, you don't need to wait that long. One weekend we'll go the beach." Will kissed her on the head and she chuckled.

"Then maybe I'll get a new one and we could go for a late night swim when camping." She suggested.

"Sounds like a plan." Will leaned his head back down and the two enjoyed this nice and quiet time.

While Will was enjoying himself with his girlfriend, on the other side of the country things were stirring in Gotham.

Gotham City

In a warehouse by the river and docks, was one Edward Nigma or as he was more well known to public, the Riddler. One of the Gotham City's crazed maniacs who tangled with the Batman, all in a vain attempt to prove he was smarter…which ended up never working. Honestly, the guy just came off as petty and pathetic. Nigma had retrofitted the warehouse into a safehouse and was currently on his advanced computer set up talking to someone.

"Riddle me this. When is a door, not a door? It feels like drowning, doesn't it? When the answer is at the edge of your cortex, but you can't seem to grasp it." Riddler said to his computer. Many would think this is him going crazy but he was actually talking to someone.

"You're trying my patience." A woman replied in a harsh tone.

"The answer…when its ajar! Here's an easy one. What runs around a city but never moves? No? A wall." Riddler told her, leaning back in his chair with his signature question mark cane perched next to him.

"What do you want, Nigma?" The woman replied as Riddler looked at the dark screen of his video call that showed the outline of the woman to whom he was talking.

"I'm in charge so I'll ask the questions. Try to keep up, won't you? Riddle me this. What belongs to you, but others use it more than you do?"

"Your name."

"Huh? You've heard that one." Riddler was pleasantly surprised.

"No, I have Google, like the rest of the world."

"Why do you talk to me like this, Waller?" Riddler asked her, revealing that he was in fact talking to Amanda Waller, head of the Governmental agency ARGUS.

"Simple. I needed to keep you babbling long enough to pinpoint your position." Waller answered in a smug tone.

"My…what?" Before Riddler could do anything else, an explosion destroyed the sky light and nine ARGUS agents in tactical gear rappelled down from the ceiling into the warehouse. They aimed their guns at Nigma with their laser sights painted all over his body.

"Hands in the air, where we can see them!"

The lead agent shouted as the group slowly walked over to him. Nigma did as he was told and sat up with his hands in the air.

"Take him out. Make it hurt." Waller told them so the lead agent grabbed Nigma by the head and slammed his head into the table with his gun's barrel pressed against the back of his head.

"Riddle me this? Why didn't I quit when I was ahead?" Riddler asked himself when lights and electrical equipment started to flicker like there was something wrong with the power.

"What is it? Report!" Waller shouted when the lights and power cut out.

"The Riddler is mine!" said a loud, booming voice.

"Switch to night vision. Secure the perimeter!"

The agents quickly put on their night vision goggles and spread out, checking for whoever was there. An agent looked around and didn't seen anyone when he saw Batman appear in the middle of the warehouse. "Holy crap! It's Batman!"

Batman threw down a flashbang and the bright light blinded the agents and their night vision goggles, forcing them to remove them in order to see. Batman moved fast, disarming one of the agents of his gun and hitting him in the side before flipping over another agent to avoid gunfire and kicking a third agent in the face. He elbowed an agent in the jaw and kicked another back before dodging the attacks of a third and responded with a punch to the face that broke his nose. He followed that up with punch to the gut and then a kick to the side that sent him flying. He ran to the other agents, throwing a batarang that disarmed a guard and took him out with a flying knee to the face before grabbing another agent and hooking a cable to his feet. He fired his grapple gun into the ceiling rafters and the agent was pulled up so he was dangling upside down as he then tackled an agent to the ground and took him down hard.

Waller sneered as she watched her agents cameras flicker out one after another as Batman took them down. He dove through the air and kicked on agent back before using his discarded rifle and hit another agent across the face before jump kicking another in the head and throwing a batarang. The projectile flew through the air towards the team leader holding Nigma but he ducked and it hit the computer. The leader and the agent standing next to him opened fire at Batman who ran through the warehouse, ducking, dodging, and vaulting over the crates and equipment. He used his grapple gun to gain some altitude before swinging forward and kicking one of the agents in the face. He rolled forward and threw a mini-batarang that hit the lead agent's gun and exploded, destroying it and staggering him.

Riddler fell to the ground as Batman closed the distance and engaged the agent in hand to hand combat. He threw out several punches the agent blocked and got hit with a headbutt. The agent pulled out a knife while Batman just held up his fists, ready. The agent charged with several slashes and lunges that Batman dodged or blocked with his armored gauntlets. He threw out a punch that the agent blocked and he brought the knife down to try and stab him in the face. Batman held back his arms before pushing him back and then dodging all his knife stabs. He hit the agent in the face with a right straight to the jaw, dodged a knife slash and kicked him in the gut before kicking him in the knee. He sidestepped a knife stab and swung his cap which the agent ducked under and then caught his lunge before elbowing him in the face and kicking him into the computer. Batman brought down his elbow which the agent blocked only it was a feint and punched him in the gut before grabbing his knife hand and forcing his arm behind him so the knife was stabbed in the computer. Unfortunately for the agent, the angle Batman forced his arm ended up breaking it and Batman finished him up with a final punch to the face.

He looked over and saw Riddler crawling on the ground with his hands tied behind his back and had made it to a vent to escape. So, he grabbed him by the back and slammed him into the wall before holding him up by the neck. "I know you helped him, Nigma! Tell me where it is."

The Riddler didn't answer and Waller saw that her plan was done. Her agents couldn't take Batman and now the Riddler would be taken to Arkham Asylum but she still needed him dealt with so she pressed a button on her desk. "I'm invoking priority level, ultraviolet. Assemble Task Force X. We have another suicide mission." (3)

Line Break xxxxx

Said members of Task Force X were being handpicked by ARGUS's files on super criminals and metahumans that they stole from the DEO. Their first pick was a cryokinetic metahuman whose latest bank robbery involved 17 people frozen in place and would have given her two million dollars if her getaway driver didn't get cold feet. When the police arrived, she tried using her powers but was taken into custody.

Louise Lincoln is Killer Frost.

The next recruit was found by the police at an abandoned hotel where the police officers who arrived were greeted to a veritable horror show. Dead bodies were strung up on the ceiling to hang like meat and in the bathtub was large hulking monster with a large fin on his head and a metal jaw. He threw the cops outside with ease to eat them but was also taken into custody and put in a maximum security prison.

Nanaue is King Shark.

At a fancy hotel, a confessed Mob boss was living in a penthouse under police protection for his upcoming trial. The criminal was enjoying himself when the lights cut out and he went to investigate. He eventually ran into a masked man in a purple suit with yellow goggles hanging from the ceiling. The masked man dropped to the ground and slashed his throat with a knife, killing him before jumping out the window to escape. Only his escape didn't go planned and was captured by police.

Eric Needham is Black Spider.

At a maximum security prison, an rowdy and annoying Australian was in line at the commissary to get lunch. One of the prisoners was handed a shank and tried to stab him only to be disarmed and knocked out. His friend tried to help only to get a food tray thrown in his face which spun through the air and flew back to his hand like it was a toy.

George Harkness is Captain Boomerang.

A masked man in a motorcycle drove out of a plane where a parachute let him descend to the ground near a US military installation. The man pressed a button and his motorcycle's side car which was actually a rocket flew forward and destroyed the barrier. The man then proceeded into the base and commenced his attack only to get captured.

Anatoli Knyazev is KGBeast.

At the Roosevelt Support Center and Halfway home for women, a blonde woman with pigtails was watching Looney Tunes on her phone with the other patients sitting around. Unfortunately, a nurse came over and took the phone away from her as contraband. That was ill advised as moments later the nurse ran out of the room covering her bloody ear. The patient had bit her ear off but was more concerned with her cartoons before laughing in glee at a funny moment.

Harleen Quinzel is Harley Quinn

At another prison, two guards and a doctor walked over to the cell of one of the inmates who was reading a book on Zen archery. He took out a photo that showed him and his daughter and used it as a bookmark before the guards took him out of his cell. They passed the doctor and the inmate took the pen from his clipboard before making his move. He picked his handcuffs with his pen before elbowing one of the guards and kicking the other away. He disarmed one of the guards and slammed his head into the wall before throwing the pen at the other guard and hitting him in the eye with precision. He closed the distance and kneed him in the gut several times before taking his gun and punching him in the face, knocking him out. The doctor shook with fear as the inmate just smirked and walked away, looking at the picture of his daughter only to feel a sharp pain in his back. The doctor injected him with something and soon the inmate passed out. The last thing he saw was the picture of his daughter.

Floyd Lawton is Deadshot.

Secret ARGUS Base

Deadshot woke up on the floor of a white room, feeling a little groggy but slowly remembering things. He looked at some of the people he was with and recognized a few and when he saw he was in his suit without his helmet, eye scope or gauntlets, he knew what was happening. Deadshot stood up and leaned against a wall as Captain Boomerang groaned and rubbed his head.

"Ugh. I've got the hangover but I don't remember the party." He muttered when Harley Quinn sat up.

"Oh crap! Not this again." She slumped to the ground when Boomerang saw Deadshot.

"You too? It's like a bloody recurring nightmare."

"Looks like we've got rookies." Deadshot looked over at the ones who haven't been through this before.

Black Spider got back to his feet and grabbed something from the back of his head which ended up being a bandage. "Who are you people? And why am I in uniform?"

"No bars! No chains! Time for meat!" King Shark grabbed Killer Frost by the leg, intending to eat her. Even though her hands were encased in metal and her powers were dampened, she wasn't a damsel in distress and quickly punched Shark in the nuts before hitting him in the jaw with her metal restraints. She jumped on him and placed her metal restraints against his neck.

"You try it, fish fingers, and I'll show you the meaning of cold-blooded." She warned him.

"You're feisty."

"Everybody! Shut up!" Deadshot shouted, walking into the middle of the room. "I've been here before."

His words meant nothing for KGBeast who charged at one of the doors and punched it with his only hand, making a small dent. "AH! I am leaving!"

He reared his fist to keep breaking through the door when the one on the other end of the room opened. "STOP!" Waller appeared with all the confidence and authority she had. "Sit down."

Harley was the first to sit followed by the others while Deadshot leaned against the wall. "I'm Amanda Waller. I'm here to indoctrinate you convicts into our special forces."

"Pass." Frost said.

"I kill to keep degenerates off the streets. I won't work alongside them." Spider stated, looking at the others with contempt.

"Fresh air and time off my sentence? Feel free to keep calling me up, love." Boomerang told her.

"Task Force X is an off-the-books government strike team, made up of convicts with no hope for release, serving as expendable agents, for impossible missions. Succeed, and I'll shave time off your sentences." Waller told them.

"If we don't?" Black Spider questioned.

"You'll be dead. Any other stupid questions?" Waller asked.

"Yeah, what's in my neck? A tracker?" Frost guessed.

"Yes, and a powerful nanotech explosive. Run away, get yourself captured, disobey an order, hell, give me a right answer too slowly, and I'll blow your head clean off." Waller warned them.

"You're lying." KGBeast stated, standing up. "You would not take all of this trouble, just to kill us."

Waller stepped aside and the door opened. "Try me." The others looked at him and KGBeast just walked across the room. He stopped for a moment at the last second before he walked out when the back of his neck began beeping and then his head blew off. "Anyone else? I didn't think so."

"What's so dangerous this time that you had to send in the newbies? Where's Flag and the others?" Deadshot wondered.

"Another assignment. This team is going to break into Arkham Asylum." Waller ordered.

"That's insane!"

"You don't know much, do you?"

"Screw that!"

"I don't do freaky deaky's!"

"Yahtzee!" Harley Quinn shouted in joy.

"How do we start?" Deadshot asked with a smirk as Harley Quinn turned to him.

"Oh, I like you cowboy. You're loco! And me likey your locomotion!" Harley stood up and leaned her head on his shoulder only for Deadshot to move so she fell to the ground.

"What's the plan?" Deadshot asked her.

"A week ago, while in my employ, a low life calling himself the Riddler managed to gain access to my computer system." Waller brought up the files on Riddler and what he stole. "He downloaded a file containing the identities and histories of every current, past, and potential member of the Suicide Squad."

"Including ours?" Deadshot saw that his file had his daughter listed as a known family member.

"That's right. He's threatening to release them all on the internet. You're going to get it back. Riddler's got one copy and it's on a thumb drive in his cane, which is apparently locked away in the Arkham property room." Waller explained.

"In the intensive treatment building, right under the solitary confinement cells." Harley Quinn added. "Good times."

"So, we get someone inside." Deadshot suggested.

"Is it me? Can it be me? Dibs!" Harley volunteered.

"She's a wild card." Black Spider pointed out and everyone agreed.

"Harley Quinn has an encyclopedic knowledge of Arkham's layout and its logistics." Waller told them so she was needed.

"She gonna be ok that close to the Joker?" Deadshot wondered and Harley looked at him in anger.

"I'm fine. We're done. He's a jerk. Whatever." She huffed.

"Well, I'm convinced." Frost muttered.

"You'll be snuck into Gotham. You'll rendezvous with a power broke who will set you up for the break in. This is as off-the-grid as it gets. So, let's keep the body count to a minimum. Deadshot, rubber bullets only." Waller ordered.

"What about the Bat?" Deadshot asked and everyone shared a look of concerned.

"He has his hands full on another case. In fact, we work it right we might be able to take advantage of him." She told them before turning to leave.

"Waller."

"What Lawton?"

"Play fair and I'll shoot straight. Jerk me around and I'll kill you." Deadshot warned her and she just smirked.

"Be a good convict Lawton. Don't make me blow you up." She walked out of the room and looked back at them. "I'm clear. Gas them."

"What them?" Harley shouted and the doors closed before gas filled it and they were all knocked out again.

Deadshot woke up to find himself in an airplane, strapped down and restrained to his seat. "I'm getting tired of this trick." He muttered.

"You and me both, cowboy." Harley told him. "Maybe, when we get into Gotham, I can show you around. I know some tight places."

"Not interesting." He replied and she huffed.

"I told you, Harley. If you're giving it out, heave a chunk my way, eh." Boomerang enticed her.

"Ehh, you wish. Shake your boomerwang at the shark guy." Harley told him off.

"Do it, and I'll bite it off." King Shark warned him and that made Frost chuckle before she smirked at him and he replied with a funny smile.

"Come on, Harl, for old times' sake!" Boomerang suggested.

"Are we gonna have a problem this time around?" Deadshot asked the Assuie.

"I think we might, mate." Boomerang remarked when he felt a knife at his throat.

"No." Black Spider had a hidden knife that Waller's men never found and used it to escape his restraints. "I don't trust vermin. Honorless, rudderless, undisciplined. They'll never find your body."

"Oh, ninjas are awesome!" Harley smiled.

Black Spider and removed the knife from his neck and Boomerang sneered just as an alarm sounded. Black Spider returned to his chair and he was secured just as walls shot up and formed around each of their chairs making small drop pods. They were then unceremoniously air dropped into Arkham from a high altitude like they were cargo.

"I HATE HEIGHTS!" King Shark shouted as the others screamed in fear.

"We're not gonna make it!"

"Waller, please!"

"AHH!"

"HA-HA-HA-HA!"

"Remember this feeling convicts. I hold your lives in my hands." Waller radioed to them.

"You crazy bitch! Open the damn chutes! Do it, now!" Lawton shouted.

And soon their drop pods came apart as they neared the city so they were now freefalling and their parachutes activated. Frost jerked when her chute deployed and the force ended up ripping her free. She fell through the air and hit King Shark and the two dropped to the ground. King Shark grabbed Frost and covered her as the two landed and caved in a car.

Deadshot and the others landed safely so he rushed over to see if they were down two members but found both were alive. Shark survived the fall and he protected Frost. "Good one. Good shark." She rubbed his jaw and he chuckled.

"Oh, Christ." Boomerang muttered while Deadshot looked around and noticed they were one short.

"Where's Harley?"

"Don't worry! I fell on my head!" They heard and saw Harley near some garbage.

"Great. Now how to we get to the rendezvous unseen?" Deadshot asked so Black Spider removed a manhole cover. Guess they were taking the sewers. Black Spider led the way, having worked in Gotham and once used the sewers to get to various locations and knew where they had to go since he memorized the map Waller showed them.

"A few more miles." He told them.

"Keep moving, then." Deadshot replied and the group kept moving. Harley huffed as King Shark walked behind her with Frost sitting on his shoulder away from the dirty sewer water. Boomerang was last and accidently stepped on a dead rat.

"GA! This is fucking bonkers! Sloshing through sewers so a guy dressed like a bat won't spot us!" Boomerang complained so Deadshot walked over to him.

"You want to head top side, slick? Be my guest." He told him and the others looked at him.

"Nah. We're practically there."

"Yeah, that's what I thought." Deadshot remarked as they kept moving.

The came up from a manhole near the Iceberg lounge and they knew who they were here to see. Oswald Cobblepot otherwise known as the Penguin who was let out on bail. Dirty money to bribe the right lawyers and judges. Only in Gotham.

Deadshot knocked on the door and the guard opened the slide. "We're closed. Private party."

"Yeah. We're the private party."

The guard led them through the club to the main area where the actual iceberg of the Iceberg lounge resided. "This way. He's waiting for you. Your guests have arrived, Mr. Cobblepot."

"Right, right, Come in!" Penguin shouted as the group walked in to see Penguin. As usual, he was wearing a fancy coat, had the glass bottle for a monocle over his left eye and eating a large plate of fish with a fancy bottle of wine. "Welcome to the Iceberg Lounge. I'm just finishing my supper."

"Pardon me, Mr. Cobblepot." Deadshot said, getting him to stop.

"Lawton. Oh, I never pegged Deadshot for a team player?"

"Oh, things are tough all over, sir."

Penguin cackled and wiped his mouth from the drool. "Oh, that's a good one. This man is the best assassin I've ever seen. And I only work with the best."

"I aim to please. Mr. Cobblepot. I was told you can get us into Arkham?" Lawton asked one of Penguin's men handed him a file.

"I can, indeed. I've made arrangements to sneak you into the crazy farm. Follow them to…" Penguin stopped them he noticed Harley hiding behind Deadshot. "CLOWN!"

"You're not still mad about that truck, are you Pengie?" Harley wondered as he pulled out his umbrella and pointed it at them while the rest of his men aimed their guns at the group.

"Wah-wah." Frost muttered.

"It feels like you are." Harley said.

"You cost me money, funny girl. Her and her loony boyfriend lit my truck a cigarette and drove it into the river! Just for a laugh!" Penguin shouted.

"Does it matter that me and Mr. J aren't together anymore?" Harley wondered.

"Nobody steals from me. It's bad business, love." Penguin told her.

"You're right, you should kill her. Hell, I'll kill her for you." Deadshot offered as Harley looked at him.

"Oh, come on!"

"Except you know what else is bad for business, sir? Double crossing your clients. And I would hate for folks to say Mr. Cobblepot takes your money and kills your operatives." Lawton pointed out and he made a good enough point for him to spare her.

"Get her out of my sight, Lawton." Penguin ordered and she quickly hid behind him as he walked over to him. "There's your files. Memorize the contents. You can grab some shut-eye in the rooms above. You deploy tomorrow night under the cover of darkness. And then, I never want to see any of you on my turf again. Now, get the hell out of here!"

The group walked away, having escaped being killed because of something Harley did. "Ever the charmer, aren't you Harls?" Boomerang joked.

"Bite me, Boomer!"

The group headed to the armory located below to stock up on their gear that Penguin got for them. Boomerang got all the special boomerangs he used along with his hat while Black Spider found his mask and his weapons. King Shark found some new razor sharp metal teeth he put into his mouth and he liked how they felt and sounded. He couldn't wait to tear into someone with them. Frost found the rest of her outfit waiting for her and Deadshot put on his helmet and eye scope along with his wrist mounted machine pistols. He saw the boxes of rubber bullets Waller told him to use but next to them were the more enticing high velocity 9x19 luger pistol rounds so he loaded those instead and put some spare rounds in his belt. With the team outfitted they went their separate ways. Boomerang being Boomerang started drinking with Penguin's men before he challenged Deadshot to a game of darts with Deadshot winning. King Shark went to raid Penguin's kitchen for food and Deadshot went to his room for a shower where Harley Quinn was waiting for him. Suffice to say a lot of noise came from their room that night.

Killer Frost walked to the kitchen to get something to eat when her ear commlink went off and Waller contacted her. "Louise, it's Amanda. I have a special assignment for you. Something I'd rather keep between the two of us."

"I'm listening." Frost replied.

The next night, the Suicide Squad put their plan into action. Harley broke into a doll store where she started trashing the place until Batman arrived. "You know where he put it, don't you?"

"Uh-oh." She turned and saw Batman there.

"Where is it, Harley?!" He asked her.

"No idea what you're talking about." She told him before throwing some dolls at him.

"Answers! NOW!" He warned her only to get a punch in the face.

"Back off, Bats!" Harley warned him, unfolding a baton so he threw some batarangs that she leaned back to avoid as the two began fighting with the team watching via security cameras.

Harley was good but Batman was better and he soon grabbed her and held her against a wall. "Where is it?!"

"What's he talking about?" Deadshot wondered.

"Who knows what these wankers get worked up about?" Boomerang pointed out.

"I don't know, I swear!" Harley told Batman.

"I'm not firing blind against the Bat." Deadshot learned that from his last encounter with him so he contacted Waller to get some info. "Waller, what the devil is going on?"

"You don't get to call me up and demand answers, Deadshot!"

"What are they talking about?" he asked her.

"Joker stole a dirty bomb and hid it somewhere in Gotham. Apparently, it's large enough that the radiation would kill half the population. Batman's torn the city apart trying to find it. At one point he thought Riddler might know."

"The Joker has a dirty bomb? That gives me the chills." Frost said, earning looks from Deadshot and Boomerang.

"Ice puns? Really?"

"Waller, this is crap." Deadshot told her.

"I don't care, convict. Do your job!" Waller ordered before signing off. She was unaware that her communication with the team would lead to them failing. Batman had picked up ARGUS communication signals in Gotham thanks to the encryption signals that Will gave him after the Blackgate attempted breakout. It's what led him to Riddler. While that would normally be cause for concern, Joker's dirty bomb took precedent so he needed his full focus on that but would deal with ARGUS later. Luckily, someone else was keeping an eye on ARGUS.

National City

Will was at the DEO desert base at the operations center and while he was done for the day, he was sticking around because of something they noticed with some ARGUS communications recently. Normally, ARGUS communications wouldn't raise concern since the DEO satellites picked them up after the Blackgate penitentiary incident and Will isolated their communication network but things have been quiet. Well, not really quiet since ARGUS did have their own operations overseas which is where ARGUS primarily operated but that wasn't really the case anymore. Some communication channels have been active in the US for the past week but the last few days have shown an uptick in activity in Gotham. The last time ARGUS had business in Gotham, Bane was almost set free so something was up.

"Sorry Will but ARGUS's communication channel have been encrypted with a special hard lock key-encryption signal interference." One of the technicians told him, showing him the data on the ARGUS communications going on in Gotham. The activity spiked since last night along with today so there was something going on.

"I thought my hack gave us access to their communications channels so we should be able to listen to what they're saying." Will pointed out.

"Normally, that'd be the case but ARGUS has beefed up their security since then. We can track their communication channels and locate them but the lock key encryption has added in a special subnet that encrypts all their audio through a feed back loop that's constantly adapting to whatever tries to hack into it." The technician told him. "I'm surprised. This is impressive encryption and technology that we can't crack, even with your upgrades that you've done. It's almost like ARGUS—"

"Got their hands on some DEO tech that let them bolster their defenses." Will finished his sentence earning a confused look. "They cracked the tech in the bug I planted on their helicopters months ago. The only explanation as to how they've managed to encrypt what they're saying over their communications channels against us is if they have part of the tech that we use."

"Waller is crafty and she adapts." They heard from Director Henshaw who had joined them. "Finding the bug you planted on one of her helicopters has given them something they worked to their advantage."

"Well, I won't be making that mistake again." Will promised.

"I don't like Waller or her methods but you know the DEO can't involve itself in whatever she has planned unless we have proof we can get involved. And knowing Waller, she won't leave beyond proof or let things slide like that time." Henshaw pointed out. "That being said, you went off on your own last time so I imagine you're going to do it again. Just don't leave anything behind she can take."

"I won't make the same mistake again, sir. Promise. I've learned my lesson. And lucky for me, I've got a new suit and no one knows who I am. Let me know if there's an emergency. I'll be back later." Will headed out of the DEO and made his way to Gotham.

Gotham City

In a dead end alley of Gotham city, GCPD were in a standoff with deranged serial killer Victor Zsasz. He had a woman hostage and was holding a knife to her throat.

"Victor Zsasz, we've got your surrounded. Lay down your weapons and put your hands on your head." An officer told him.

"Please! Please, don't hurt me!" The woman begged.

"Let the girl go before this gets ugly!" The officer warned him.

"The zombie is mine to liberate. I have righteous work to do." Zsasz told them when they heard some fluttering and saw the outline of a bat appear in the shadows. That's when Batman dropped down from the roof and landed in the alleyway.

"I'm not in the mood tonight, Zsasz." Batman warned him but before he could make his move a grapple claw shot down from the sky and grabbed Zsasz's knife hand, yanking it away from the hostage. Another grapple claw grabbed his other hand so he let go of the hostage who ran to the cops. Zsasz was then pulled up into the air, disappearing from view before some grunts and sounds of impact were heard. That's when Zsasz was dropped back to the ground tied up with a metal cable and knocked unconscious. Batman looked up at the roof and activated the detective mode of his cowl to see an armored figure standing up there. It seemed to notice he was looking at him as it motioned him to come up so Batman fired a grapple cable at the roof and went up while the police took Zsasz into custody.

Batman was on the roof and put his grappling gun back in his belt to see the armored figure with the skull helmet and hoodie over his head. He knew who it was since he saw the watch on the figure's wrist and remember seeing him on the news when he took down Bloodsport, Tigress, and Sportsmaster.

"What are you doing here?" Batman asked him.

"Nice to see you too, Batman." Will remarked, his voice modulate deactivated since Batman already knew who he was. "Sorry to bother you and interfere but we need to talk."

"If there is an alien in Gotham City then work fast. I've got enough on my plate." Batman told him.

"It's not that. ARGUS is up to something in Gotham." Will took out the Proto-box and showed him the data he had on the uptick in ARGUS communication frequency in Gotham. "Their communication channels have had an uptick in activity the last two days. Considering the last time they tried something it resulted in a prison break at Blackgate, they might be up to something again. Wanted to know if you found anything odd going on recently."

Batman let that all sink in and went over it in his head. "Any activity tonight?"

"Yeah. Something big is going on. What's going on?" He asked him.

"Harley Quinn. She was acting odd." Batman told him.

"Odder than usual for a deranged court jester? Isn't she supposed to be locked up?" Will pointed out.

"I captured her early tonight and she was acting odd like she was happy to get caught." He felt something was off so he activated his gauntlet and brought up his system where it detected a yellow alert an hour ago at Arkham. He checked the security footage and everything was fine but noticed something odd. Two of the guards he saw weren't on duty to work tonight which meant the security footage was a replay of yesterday. Something was going on at Arkham so pressed a button on his gauntlet and jumped from the roof where he glided to the ground just as the Batmobile arrive. He got into the driver's seat and drove as fast as he could to Arkham Asylum.

"Still the same conversationalist. I was hoping he might comment on the armor." Will activated his flight wings and flew after him.

At the Asylum, the team encountered a problem on their way to the Intensive treatment building. Instead of keeping a low profile like Deadshot suggested, Boomerang's miss got one of the guards on his walkies and then a fight broke out between the two. After a group of guards showed up, King Shark let subtly go out the window and the group took down the guards in a large and noisy fire fight. There was a good chance that they were found out.

There was one guard still standing and King Shark had him in his sights. "Enough, Shark, put him down!" Deadshot ordered only for Shark to throw him into one of the towers where the impact broke his spine and killed him. Deadshot knocked Shark onto his back with a leg sweep and pointed one of his guns in his face. "Do I have your attention now? Don't break cover in the middle of an operation unless I say so."

Shark just grabbed him by the neck and pulled him close. "Don't ever do that to me."

"Or what? You'll chew my head off?" Deadshot put one of his machine pistols underneath Shark's jaw, ready to shoot a bullet into his brain. "Do it! I'm begging you. You think any of you have a shot of getting out alive without me?"

Shark conceded and let him go. "That's what I thought. We're just lucky this was contained. Start following orders, all of you!"

"Why don't you just calm down, Puddin'?" Harley got close and hugged him but he moved her back.

"Don't call me Puddin!" He warned her and continued moving to the Intensive Treatment building where they headed down to the property room. He tried putting in a code but it wasn't working. "It's locked."

"Not for long." King Shark walked over to doors and chomped on one of the security gate bars. His teeth didn't go through so he tried ripping it off but it wasn't working.

"Now that's just pathetic." Boomerang remarked as Harley walked over to security panel.

"The warden uses his birthday backwards for practically all of his passwords." She put in and it worked.

"How do you know that?" Deadshot asked her.

"I used to work here. Didn't I mention that?" Harley answered.

"Come on. As what?" Boomerang wondered.

"As a psychiatrist, silly. And pal, anyone who throws boomerangs has some real issues letting go." Harley put in one more code and they were in. "And Voila!"

The property room was massive and had hundreds of crates. "Where do we even begin?"

"Everyone just take a crate and start looking!" Deadshot told them so they split up and got to work. Boomerang ran into the Scarface puppet and Harley found her crate where she found some old mementos, gadgets, weapons, and her signature hammer which she took with her. Deadshot fount Riddler's cane in a box and unscrewed the end. "Bingo."

"Firefly. Killer Moth. Maxie Zeus? Never heard of any of these weirdos." King Shark said as Frost opened up a box belonging to Mr. Freeze.

"Mr. Freeze's gun. Score." She tried to take it out of the box but it was heavy so Shark did it for her. It was cumbersome but she got it. "Thanks."

He smiled when they heard something hit the ground nearby. It was a cable and Batman swung down and kicked King Shark in the face before punching Frost into a crate. He continued fighting King Shark, using his speed and agility to avoid getting touched by the large metahuman and was beating him down.

"It's Batman!" Frost shouted, alerting the others. She raised Freeze's gun and tried to shoot but it wasn't working. That's when she realized it needed ice so she used her powers to fuel it and shoot at Batman, only to hit Shark in the head and encase it in ice. Deadshot shot at Batman who slipped to the side and used his grapple gun to head up to the walkway above before throwing some batarangs. Deadshot shot some down but one got close and exploded, knocking him into a shelf.

Batman landed on the walkway where Black Spider attacked him. The two engaged in a fight and Deadshot pulled himself out of the shelf. One of his machine pistol gauntlets was destroyed but saw a rocket launcher and rockets next to him which made him smile. Batman continued to fight Black Spider, catching his kick and throwing him face first into the railing before knocking him back. Spider pulled out a knife to stab and tried swiped a few times when a boomerang hit him in the face and knocked him to the ground. Batman looked down at Captain Boomerang who threw a few more so he ran across the walkway. Some of the boomerangs exploded as Batman jumped over and grappled to the ground. He wrapped a cable around Boomerang's wrist and kicked him back. He then pulled on the cable, bringing Boomerang closer and knocked him onto this back with a rising elbow to the face.

Harley cackled as she charged at Batman while swinging her hammer but he just sidestepped her, grabbed her face, and pushed her back. She lost her footing and crashed into a crate. Batman ducked and then jumped back to avoid getting hit by Frost using Mr. Freeze's gun. He backflipped and ran up some shelves as Frost kept shooting at him with the freeze ray freezing the ground behind him. He jumped off the storage shelf and threw a batarang which flew through the air and hit Frost in the back of the head. She hit the ground and Batman landed as well when King Shark came charged through some containers and grabbed him, tackling him through several more crates and slammed him onto the ground.

King Shark got on top of Batman and opened up his jaw to take a bite when something flew through the air and got caught in his mouth. Batman saw King Shark had a round shield caught in his mouth and despite his razor sharp teeth and powerful jaw, it wasn't breaking or bending. That's when an armored figure flew from the side and tackled King Shark off of him. It was Will and he tackled King Shark off of Batman using his jet boots and dragged his face into the ground before flipping forward and hurling King Shark across the room while taking his shield back. Will looked over at Batman and nodded before throwing his shield. Batman ducked as the shield flew over his head and hit Captain Boomerang in the face, staggering him.

"Bloody hell!" Boomerang shouted as Batman closed the distance and punched him in the face, kneed him in the gut and then threw him through a crate before ducking and dodging knife attacks from Black Spider. Batman block and parried his knife trust and punched him in the face before kicking him in the gut setting him up so Will could knock him back with a flying knee to the back that sent him skidding across the ground. He kicked up his shield back onto his arm and then turned to the side to block Frost's freeze gun before spinning to the side and firing an explosive disk at her. It hit the freeze gun and blew it up, knocking her to the ground.

Deadshot took aim with the rocket launcher and fired it at the Batman only for Will to get in front with his shield and take the hit. There was an explosion that shook the room and Deadshot smirked, thinking he took them out only for the smoke to clear and see the shield still standing there with two large metal wings surrounding it. That's when the wings moved and Deadshot saw the mysterious armored figure still alive having used his shield and metal wings to protect him.

Batman jumped down from the ceiling and knocked the rocket launcher away before punching him in the gut and then kneeing him in the face. He blocked his punch and broke his elbow down on his head before kicking him to the side. Will came from behind and picked him up by the legs so Batman jumped into the air clotheslined him with his arm. Deadshot dropped to the ground unconscious and Batman put some cuffs on his hands when Captain Boomerang, Black Spider, Harley Quinn, and King Shark surrounded them. Batman and Will got back to back and ready to fight.

"Four against two. Pretty bad odds for them unless you want to handle this on your own?" Will pointed out only for Batman to look at him.

"Shut up and fight." Batman told him.

King Shark lunged at Will who knocked his arm aside and punched him in the face before kicking him in the back of the right leg so she dropped to a knee while Batman blocked Harley's mallet and kicked her back. Will then turned and kicked Harley in the side as Batman punched King Shark in the throat and knocked him onto his back before parrying and blocking attacks from Black Spider. Will used his shield to block all of Boomerang's hacks and slashes before headbutting him and kicking him in the gut. Batman then knocked him back while Will shield bashed Black Spider to the side. Frost looked up and saw the others dealing with Batman and the new vigilante which gave her a moment to slip away which she did.

Black Spider flipped back to his feet and slashed at Will who blocked and parried all his attacks with his shield. He backed up to let Black Spider keep coming at him before parrying his lunge and knocking the knife away. He then grappled with Black Spider and pulled one of his arms behind his back before elbowing him in the back of the head. The blow staggered Spider so Will finished him by grabbing him by the face and headbutting him hard enough to crack Spider's mask and knock him out.

Batman blocked and parried all of Boomerang's slashes before using his gauntlet's spikes to catch one of the boomerangs. With it caught, Batman pulled him close and kneed him in the groin before he punched him in the stomach four times and kicked him in the chest. Boomerang rolled back and managed to get back to his feet to continue the fight but heard a beep. He looked down and saw a batarang stuck to his chest that was blinking before it stopped and shocked him. Boomerang jerked around before he passed out and fell on his face.

Will ducked and backed away to avoid Harley's mallet swings and was surprised by how good she was. From what he read on the internet and all the superhero blogs, many thought that Harley was just Joker's henchwoman but she's got skills. He blocked her mallet with shield when his HUD picked up uranium radiation but that moment got hit in the side by Harley's mallet. He rolled back and landed in a crouch as Harley spun her mallet before pointing it at him.

"Like the suit but didn't anyone tell you? Halloween is in October, Mr. Jack Skellington." Harley mocked.

"Says the woman dressed up like a slutty college girl who found an old Mardi Gra costume." Will shot back and she huffed.

"That's it!" Harley charged and leapt at him but he just fired a dart from his forearm launcher. The dart exploded and cabled wrapped around Harley from head to toe. Her mallet fell to the ground and she would have done the same if Will didn't catch her. "I can't believe I fell for that."

"Yeah, you should have seen that coming." Will pointed out before putting her on the ground. "But the outfit is nice."

"Thanks. I think it's a step up from my old one. I love the classics but the full body suit deal was kind of uncomfortable." Harley told him.

"Well to each her own. And sorry for the slutty college girl remark but the suit does look good on you." Will told her and Harley giggled.

"Oh, does it?" She flirted when Will saw Batman fighting against King Shark.

"Hold that thought. And don't move." Will told her before rushing over to help Batman. Harley giggled as she watched the armored vigilante run to help Batman.

Batman was dodging and ducking all of King Shark's attacks when Will landed on King Shark's shoulder and bashed him on the head. Shark tried to swat him off so Will flipped off and extended his wings, hitting him in the face with them as he landed and they retracted. "I'm gonna rip both your heads off and eat your hearts!" King Shark roared in anger before charging at them but both vigilantes just jumped over him. They both fired a grapple cable at Shark and pulled, causing him to stagger as Will charged and did a flying side kick that hit him in the chest. He then grabbed his left arm and pulled, bringing Shark to his knees as Batman then came by and knee him across the face.

Shark rolled away and tried to punch or grab either of them but they were too fast. Will slid between his legs as Batman hit him in the jaw with a jumping hook kick and then an uppercut before Will jumped onto Shark's back and knocked him to the ground. They began punching and kicking King Shark as the large metahuman swiped at them but they ducked or jumped over his arm before kicking him back together. Batman then hit him across the face with a hook kick before Will hit him with a jump spinning side kick to the side of the face. Batman landed a right cross to his temple, Will landed a rising knee to his jaw before hitting him with a powerful uppercut. Batman jumped into the air and fired his grapple gun at the ground where he pulled himself down and hit King Shark with one powerful punch that knocked him out.

"He is one big lug." Will remarked and saw Batman look at him. "I'm just saying."

He then turned and fired a cable dart at Boomerang who was trying to escape but instead got captured. The two vigilantes gathered the Suicide Squad together and disarmed them. Deadshot, Black Spider, Captain Boomerang, and Harley Quinn sat next to one another while King Shark was hogtied and hung upside incase he woke up.

"Great. We got taken out by a guy dressed like a bat and another bloke wearing a freaking skull mask." Boomerang muttered.

"Just shut up." Deadshot told Boomerang when Batman grabbed him by the chest and pulled him up.

"Talk, Lawton. Why are you here?!" Batman shouted.

"Amanda Waller wanted us to break into Arkham to steal back the data Riddler stole from her." Lawnton told him.

"Guess that's what you get when you work with criminals. They always double cross you." Will remarked as Batman searched Lawton and found the sphere from Riddler's cane in his pocket. "It was a waste of time anyway. It's empty."

"What?" Lawton and the others shouted as Batman dropped Lawton and opened it, revealing it was in fact empty. "We've been played."

"And we're one member short." Black Spider pointed out and then it clicked for Lawton as to their real mission.

"That bitch. Waller sent Frost ahead with her own mission." Lawton muttered.

"She's going after Riddler. Waller's not one to leave loose ends. Guess sending the team in was just a distraction." Will said to Batman who agreed. That's when Will's HUD picked up Deadshot's ear comm go off so he walked over and took it out.

"Deadshot, come in? Deadshot, what's your status?" Waller ordered so Will dropped the comm and crushed it with his boot. His HUD scanned the team and it picked up small nanotech explosives in the base of their skulls that were armed. Guess that's how Waller keeps the team working for her so he decided to do something about it.

Will knelt down to Lawton and took out the Proto-box which began scanning and analyzing the bomb. "Uh…what's he doing?" Boomerang asked.

"Defusing the bombs Waller put in the base of your skulls. With those dealt with we don't have to worry about her blowing your heads off." Will answered.

"You're…helping us?" Lawton thought this was a joke.

"Your criminals but you don't deserve to have your heads blown off by a power hungry woman working for a government agency." Will pointed out before looking at Batman. "I'll handle them. Go stop Killer Frost."

Batman nodded and used his grapple gun to swing away. "Aw, you're just a big softie under that mask aren't you new guy? With some pretty good moves as well. How about you untie me and I take you to a tight place where I can show you some of my moves?" Harley suggested with a wink and flirty smile.

"Sorry. I'm an open man and you are hot but I draw the line at clowns." Will told her, focused on his work.

"You're doing the right thing. Trust me." Lawton remarked and Harley huffed when they all heard a beep.

"There the bombs are defused."

"Oh, thank god. Don't suppose you're gonna let us go now?" Boomerang wondered.

"Sorry but that's not gonna happen. Look on the bright side. You can serve out your sentence in jail instead of risking your life and possibly getting your head blown off." Will pointed out before he fired a small disc at each of the members of Task Force X that stuck to them.

"What's this supposed to do?" Black Spider asked only for all of them to receive a full body electrical shock that knocked them out.

"That." Will checked around to make sure no one was looking before using the Omnitrix. One change into XLR8 and he raced all members of Task Force X to Blackgate Penitentiary. The guards and police there were confused but took them into custody. It took a few seconds but he returned to the property room and transformed back into his armor to go help Batman when he looked at Harley's mallet and remembered when his HUD picked up the radiation signature. Curious, he walked over to the mallet and scanned it which is when he saw the surprise inside. He opened the mallet and saw a bomb. Judging by the nuclear symbols on the side and the radiation his suit picked it, it was radioactive and had enough power to take out half the city so he contacted Batman. "Uh, Batman. You're not gonna believe what I just found in Harley's mallet. It's a nuclear bomb."

"Joker's Dirty Bomb. I've been looking for it all over Gotham. He must have hidden it in her mallet. Can you disarm it?" Batman asked him and his HUD scanned the layout and circuitry of the bomb design before showing him that it wasn't armed.

"No need. The bomb's not armed. I'll take it to the GCPD." He replied.

"Be careful. Frost and Nigma are heading down to the medical center." Batman told him.

"Roger that. Be back soon." Will activated the Omnitrix yet again and took Joker's bomb to the GCPD. All the cops were confused as to how it got there and who wrote the note. It read:

Joker's dirty bomb. Not currently armed. Be careful and your welcome.

-An acquaintance of Batman

At Arkham, Frost and Nigma were hiding behind some old brick walls being shot at by members of the Special Crimes unit. Frost's abilities were powerful but she couldn't take on a squad of armored guards like that without getting killed. "Well, this is going well." She remarked.

"Then like the hangman's noose, we are at the end of our rope." Riddler said.

"I really hate you." She told him when a Batarang landed in front of them and released purple gas. The two covered their mouths and coughed but it was no use and soon they fell asleep. One of the guards saw the purple smoke so he signaled the others to stop and they did but remained ready. The smoke dissipated and a figure was seen in the smoke so the guards readied their guns but saw it was Batman so they relaxed. Batman dropped Riddler and Frost in front of him and the guards rushed over to take them into custody.

"What are you doing here, Batman?" One of the guards asked when they heard the asylum's PA and video system turn on.

"Simulus testing! Simulus. I know you can see me, Bats. I picked up your stink the second you showed up here. I hope you brought protection because I'm on my way to give Gotham a permanent case of terminal love and it's really gonna burn. And just in case you're thinking of stopping me, I figured I'd invite some friends to my big blow-out." The Joker announced.

They heard an alarm and soon, all the cells in Gotham were opened and all the inmates were set free. Two-Face, Scarecrow, Bane, and Poison Ivy were among the heavy hitters in the prison along with the Joker but the rest of the inmates would cause chaos and were fighting with the guards and the police in their attempt to escape.

"Stopping Joker. Make sure those two get to cells." Batman told them before using his grapple gun to escape.

At the main entrance to the Asylum, Commissioner Gordon arrived along with an army of GCPD officers and prison guards in riot gear. They constructed a blockade and barrier using cars and whatever else they had. They couldn't let any of the inmates to escape so they were going to make sure they didn't.

"Get ready, men! No one gets off the island!" Gordon shouted as the men stilled themselves. They heard shouting and some fighting in the distance against other guards of the prison but soon saw dozens of guards rushing at them to escape. They held up their shields and readied their batons to fight when several discs hit the ground in front of the guards and exploded, knocking back several of the inmates at the front with non-lethal explosions while other discs released volts of electricity and stunned and knocked out others. About 14 inmates were taken out by the sudden discs but the rest were coming which is when Commissioner Gordon and the GCPD saw an armored winged man fly down low and intercepted them before they got close. His wings knocked several inmates back before he closed his wings around his body and spun through the air like a cannon ball. Inmates unlucky to get hit were knocked around as Will rolled back to his feet and activated his shield and sword.

He kicked one inmate into another before he knocked around two inmates with a shield bash and then moved into a jump spinning back kick, kicking an inmate in the jaw. He used his sword and sliced at the inmates legs and ankles so they fell or dropped to the ground unable to run. He leg sweep one inmate and spun up into a roundhouse kick taking out three before punching another inmate in the face and slamming his head into the ground. He side kicked another in the face and then sweep one inmate into the air before punching him to the ground. One inmate grabbed him from behind so Will activated his jet back and the heat and pressure forced him to let go. He was knocked back with a back kick before he slashed several more inmates with his sword and then did a butterfly spin. He threw his shield mid spin so it flew through the air and hit several inmates all over with the final one getting hit right in the nose. One inmate saw the shield fall on the ground so he picked it up only for Will to charge forward and jump off one inmate with a kick to land a leaping punch before grabbing the inmate from behind and doing a Suplex. He spun on the ground and took some inmates down with a leg sweep before getting back to his feet and grappling one inmate to the ground and breaking his leg. He elbowed another and kneed him in the stomach and then face before picking him up and throwing him into the crowd.

He saw some the inmates were attacking the police at the barricade and one of them was Scarecrow who was using his syringe gauntlet to stab and inject guards with fear toxin so Will rushed over. He picked up his shield and to clear a path, he jumped into the air with a spin and activated his wings. His spinning caused his wings to spin around his body which knocked several inmates to the ground and sent a few flying. Will then flew into the air towards Scarecrow, throwing his shield and hitting him in the arm with enough force that he broke a bone. Scarecrow cradled his arm in pain as the shield flew back to Will who caught it and landed in a dive roll before throwing it yet again and hitting Scarecrow in the neck. The bag-headed villain gasped for air as Will grabbed his arm and broke his wrist that had the syringes of toxin, punched him in the gut and took him to the ground before dropping his knee on his face and knocking him out.

Bane had arrived and was tearing through the police barricade and Poison Ivy was sending out her vines to bring guards and inmates alive to turn into her mindless puppets. "Batman, heads up! The inmates are trying to leave the prison!" Will told him, kicking one inmate in the gut, and using the momentum to flip over a prisoner who tried to grab him from behind. He then took the inmate to the ground and knocked him out with a punch to the face. Will reloaded his forearm launcher and fired a barrage of taser and flashbang discs at the inmates and giving the police and guards some reprieve. "Close the gates! Hurry!"

"You heard him! Move!" Gordon shouted and the police began to fall back to the main gate while Will provided cover and took down more of the asylum's prisoners. Once the last of the guards and officers had made it through, they locked the gate and moved a car in the way to block it only for Bane to break through it with his venom infused strength. He bat around the officers and squad cars like it was nothing. "Where's our backup?!"

Gordon shot at Bane when Batman landed in front of him and threw some explosive gel in his face. It blinded the large mercenary for a moment before it exploded, allowing Batman to jump on Bane's back and pull the venom tubes connected to his mask. He ripped two of them free and steered Bane around so he attacked some of the inmates who made it through the broke gate before he jumped off. Several discs hit Bane in the chest and electrocuted him before he collapsed onto the road. Batman walked over and helped Gordon to his feet.

"Now, that's what I call backup." Gordon remarked when they heard a loud shriek and saw a large mutant Venus fly trap appear by the gate that was holding Poison Ivy with wooden vines all around her. On the ground was her army of enslaved inmates and guards who were being knocked around before Will flew into the air and fired explosive discs at Ivy. She blocked them with her vines before summoning more to take him down but he was able to fly around out of her grasp. "He another one of yours?"

"Keep the gate secured, Jim. We'll handle this." Batman used his grappling hook and swung to the gate where he threw some explosive disks at Ivy that destroyed some more vines. Ivy sent out some vines to grab him but he shot his grappling gun at Will's foot who flew him out of the way. Batman held on as Will flew around and fired some more explosive darts at Ivy but it wasn't doing much. "The bomb?"

"Taken care of and dropped off at the GCPD but I don't think Joker knows that." Will told him, doing some creative flying to avoid him and Batman being grabbed before gaining some distance and dropping Batman off on the roof of a building.

"He must think it's still in the property room." Batman said as they looked down at the chaos by the main gate. The police were pushing Ivy back with smoke and guns but the asylum was still a mess.

"You go and get him. I'll handle this." Will told him and Batman nodded before gliding away. Will landed on the roof and quickly activated the Omnitrix, disappearing in a flash of green light.

Ivy looked at her enslaved meat puppets and ordered them forward to the gate when she saw that they were being taken away one by one. She wasn't sure what was going on but they were disappearing quickly and soon all her minions were gone. That's when she saw a flash of green light and there was a walking creature of lava and fire standing in front of her. "Sorry, Poison Ivy but it's time to burn the weeds."

Heatblast summoned two large balls of fire with his hands before throwing them at the roots of Ivy's plant which made it and her scream in pain. He then punched the ground and created an intense heat wave tornado that burned all of Ivy's plants and vines. She felt everything they did so it felt like she was being burned alive as well and the intense heat became too much and she passed out.

Gordon and his men saw the sudden fire storm appear and covered their eyes before it vanished as quickly as it arrived. There was smoke and all they could smell was something burning. They walked in to secure the area and saw Poison Ivy knocked out and tied up along with the rest of the inmates. "What the hell was that?" Gordon asked aloud as the guards and officers began taking the inmates away.

At the property room, Joker was looking through Harley's crate in a futile attempt to find her mallet. "Where the hell is it? No. No. No. Don't need that. That's not it." Joker tossed out everything else in the crate but no mallet. "How typical. You build a dirty bomb only for it to end up missing. Where the hell could it have gone and where is Harley? She usually comes running back by now."

"The bomb is gone, Joker." He heard Batman say as Joker smirked and pulled out his pistol but he didn't see him there. "Already taken and your riot is over."

"Not possible. You're good, Bats but not that good. I doubt you could have taken care of Crane and Bane all by yourself and come here to stop me before I eve got here." Joker pointed out.

"Helps he didn't work alone." Joker heard a new and menacing voice announce.

"Oh, very creepy. Well done, Bats. Did you find a new teenager to pal around with? Tired of the new one already? Or did he die? If so, I'll be happy to show your latest sidekick just how gracious of a host I can be." Joker offered.

"Not to be rude. Actually, I'll be rude but I'd rather get a colonoscopy by a porcupine then have to deal with you." The voice told him. "I mean, you're not even much of a threat."

"What did you just say? Do you have any idea who I am? I'm the Joker! The Clown Prince of Crime! Who do you you're think you're talking to?!" Joker shouted.

"Not a comedian, I can tell you that." Joker heard behind him so he turned and fired a few bullets but there was nothing there.

"Shut your mouth!" Joker shouted.

"I already got you pegged. Batman doesn't talk to you a lot. It's probably why you're so fixated on him." The voice said when the gun was knocked out of Joker's hand by something sharp.

"Don't play psychoanalysis with me, whoever you are! The doctors at Arkham have tried and those that did are all dead!" Joker warned him, grabbing the acid playing cards he threw out of Harley's crate and throwing several around to try and hit whoever was there.

"I don't need a degree to figure you out and neither does Batman." The voice said when the lights cut out so Joker was alone in the dark. "The real reason you keep coming back is because you've never gotten a laugh out of the Batman."

"I'm not hearing this!" Joker muttered, throwing some more at the ceiling but soon ran out.

"Get a clue, Bozzo. He's the Batman. He's not someone who's gonna start laughing at your jokes. Not that you've ever had any good jokes."

"Shut up. Shut up!" Joker raced to the exit but the doors slammed shut and were locked.

"I mean, come on. Joy buzzers, acid flowers, lame! Where's the A-Material? Make a face! Drop your pants! Something!"

"Show yourself!" Joker shouted.

"You make me laugh but only because I think your kind of pathetic. Heh-heh-heh-heh-heh-heh!"

"Stop that!"

"Heh-heh. So, you got your skin bleached, dyed your hair green, and decided to become a supervillain? What? You couldn't get work as a rodeo clown? HA-HA-HA-HA-HA!"

Joker rushed over to a nearby crate and found the rocket launcher Deadshot used. "Don't you dare laugh at me!"

"HA-HA-HA-HA-HA-HA! Why?! I thought the Joker always wanted to make people laugh!"

"Laugh at this!" Joker fired a rocket at the ceiling in anger, making a huge hole in the roof and sending the crumbling walkway to the ground. He reloaded the rocket launcher and looked around to see the hole in the roof provide some moon light that illuminated a figure standing in the middle of the rubble and it was Will in his armor. "DIE!"

Before Joker could pull the trigger, Batman came from the side and punched him across the face hard. He then knocked the rocket launcher away and punched Joker in the gut, three more punches in the face and then grabbed his arm before throwing him into the shelf which fell over and some crates landed on him.

Will walked over as the Joker managed to look up from the wooden crates he had on him to see the two standing next to each other. "That's…not…funny…" He groaned and passed out from the pain.

"He likes to talk so I wondered what would happen if someone talked back to him." Will pointed out.

"Not bad." Batman told him.

Arkham Asylum, Gotham City

The clean up at Arkham was moving quickly and all inmates were back in their cells. One of whom was the Riddler who was on his bed and reading a book. He heard a subtle rustle of a cap and figured Batman was here to talk to him so he got up and walked over to the bars of his cell. "I must say, well done Dark Knight. You surprised me lately and now you've come to figure out what I know. But Riddle me this, Batman. What is everything to someone and nothing to everyone else?"

Riddler waited for an answer but didn't get one so he looked around and didn't see Batman. "Huh, that's odd. Thought I heard the cape of the bat?"

"Not exactly." Riddler heard in his head. He turned around and saw a green skinned alien looking at him with glowing red eyes that put Nigma into a trance before he grabbed Nigma by the head. "Time to know what you know."

Will wasn't exactly well versed in Martian Telepathy and hadn't used it but from his training sessions with J'onn, he got a basic understanding of what to do. It required concentration and a calm mind. Human minds were easy so Will just concentrated until he felt himself enter Riddler's mind and saw all his memories. It was there that he found that Riddler didn't know anything about Task Force X or ARGUS that the others didn't know. He was a former recruit and member of the team and the reason Waller wanted him dead is because he knew how to disarm the bomb that was placed in the back of his head. Not exactly a valid reason to kill someone but this was Waller so who knows. Will exited his mind soon after that and while he wasn't well versed in the telepathy, he was able to at least erase the last few minutes so he didn't remember anything.

He turned intangible and left and Riddler awoke from his trance in his cell. "That was odd." He sat on his bed to figure out what just happened but that was a riddle he wouldn't be able to solve. Will left soon after, unaware that the continued used of his Martian form attracted a visitor from J'onn's home planet that he would need to deal with.

Washington DC

Amanda Waller was in her office at a secret building that was actually an ARGUS facility. She poured herself a glass of whiskey to drink for her solace. Things at Arkham did not go well. Her team was subdued and taken to Blackgate and the bombs in their necks were deactivated.

"Waller!" She heard and saw Batman standing at her door. "You knew when you sent your little Suicide Squad into Arkham, they'd go off script."

"Oh, it's just you." She remarked before taking a drink.

"When your bombs didn't dice them, you figured the SCU would. All that, just so you could kill the Riddler." Batman deduced.

"Let's just say, I break a lot of eggs to make an omelet." Waller commented.

"And because you're a messy cook, there was nearly a massive breakout at Arkham."

"I got careless. My men will handle Nigma soon enough." She told him.

"There's isn't a soon enough."

"No? We're the US government. Who's going to blow the whistle on us? The convicts? Who'd believe them? You? You're gonna start a blog and expose us? I don't think so. That's checkmate, Batman." Waller smirked.

"It actually isn't." She heard and saw another armored vigilante walk in.

"Great there's more of you. A little far away from National City, aren't you Skullmaster? Don't you have the Thinker to track down?" Waller pointed out only for the vigilante to hold up a voice recorder and play back the conversation she had with Batman where she admitted to Task Force X and the incident at Arkham. "You motherfuck—"

"That's check, Waller. Unless you want this uploaded to the internet and a government inquiry looking over your shoulder, start playing nice. And your Suicide Squad is done." He warned her.

"It isn't wise to threaten me." Waller warned him back as she got up and looked out her window at the capital. "You think that what I'm doing is evil but it's necessary. Do you want to know what will happen if you release that? The government will do an inquiry to save face for the public but they will deny everything because they can. And they will keep me around because they need people like me. There are certain people behind the power that realize what I do, while it isn't pretty or nice, is necessary for this world. So, you two can get on your moral high horse all you want but like it or not, I'm not going anywhere."

"We'll see about that. But even someone as smart as you must know that you play with fire like this long enough…you're gonna get burned. And we'll be there when it happens."

Waller turned around but the two vigilantes were gone. She sat at her desk and grumbled in annoyance. Batman was a problem but so was the new one. If her feeling was right then this Skullmaster was the same person who helped Batman at Blackgate and had become a real pain in her side. His armor was impressive but if what is rumored to have happened at Arkham is any indication then this man was powerful. And she did not like getting extorted or threatened so she picked up her phone and dialed a number.

"Mr. Luthor's office?" A secretary answered.

"Tell Mr. Luthor to call me back at this number. Tell me I'm willing to talk about his proposal but want something in return." Waller told her.

"Can I ask who is calling?" The Secretary asked.

"He knows who I am." Waller answered before hanging up. Luthor was a snake but was a snake she could control. Perhaps working together could prove beneficial.

End of Chapter 5

1). Hal Jordan/Green Lantern as played by a Chris Pine. I think he would be a good Hal Jordan. Carol Ferris as played by Lizza Caplan. These were some favorite fan castings. Let me know what you guys think.

2) Imagine Hal's Green Lantern Suit in a similar vein to the one from the DC animated film Green Lantern Frist Flight.

3). The Suicide Squad for this mission are the same as the team from the movie, Batman: Assault on Arkham. Don't worry, this won't be the only time the Suicide Squad will appear and next times they'll have different members.

Hoped you guys liked Chapter 5. We got some stuff set up for future chapters and have met Green Lantern. I'm hoping to have Will and Hal have a sort of buddy relationship like Flash and Green Lantern have in the comics. He'll be back and we've got Will and Batman teaming up against the Suicide Squad and Arkham. And Waller won't take Will's threats likely? What could she possibly want with Luthor and what does this mean for the world? Hope you guys liked the chapter.

Next chapter, Will's summer vacation is in full swing as he and the DEO head to a summer camp to track down a Fort Rozz escapee and deal with some overgrown vegetation. Then Will fights his first White Martian to protect J'onn and an incident with the Forever Knights drops him onto an mysterious paradise island with beautiful women who have a hate for men and a chained up god of war. Time to make a new friend. Until then!
