Hello everyone, here is Chapter 8 of Omniverse Earth-38. Will's summer is nearly over and he hasn't exactly had a chance to relax. That unfortunately continues despite Max's best efforts. Will first has to deal with some crazy doctor named Animo who becomes a recurring thorn in Will's side for years to come. After that what was hoped to be a relaxing vacation by invitation to the world's first underwater resort built by Max's friend turns into an alien encounter. But it does end with Will teaming up with the metahuman known as the Aquaman. Enjoy!

Omniverse Earth-38: Animo and King of the Seven Seas

August 2008: National City

Will was in the parking garage of the condo that he and his dad live in, working on his car. After his encounter with Hex that ended with him getting sent to jail and those charms being destroyed Will had to get his car fixed yet again. It was the second time he had to fix it but thankfully the damage wasn't as bad as the first time. The rear axle needed to be completely replaced along with the roof and he needed new tires and windows but compared to having to rebuild the entire car from scratch after Diana used it as a mallet, this was easy. He managed to get most of the heavy work done at the DEO using XLR8 but the second the hard work was done Director Henshaw wanted the car out of his base. He said that the DEO was not a repair shop for his car. So, he had to finish the rest of the work at home and he couldn't take it Courtney's stepdad since he would have to explain what happened.

He was laying back on a dolly cart and was under his car which was propped up by a car jack. He was using some tools to do some last minute maintenance on the rear axels to make sure there were no problems. There was a small toolbox next to his car along with some rags and stools. Sitting on one was Vic and the in the other was Ed who was drinking some coffee while he scrolled through his phone. The thing that was on his phone? A list of codenames.

"How about the Falcon?" Ed suggested to Will.

"No. Vic, can you hand me the 5/8ths wrench please?" Will reached his hand out from under the car so Vic grabbed the wrench from the toolbox and handed it to him.

"Why not? Those wings you showed me scream bird-themed superhero name. Unless you want to go back and workshop Eagle?" Ed wondered.

"No on both and they're just flight wings. I doubt the skull on my face would work with a name like Falcon." Will said as he kept working.

"And it's too pedestrian." Vic added.

"Fine then. Falcon's off the table as is Eagle and Condor. If you're going off your suit then how about Skull Knight? Or the Reaper? No, that one's got too much of a death connotation. Oh, maybe the Spectre?" Ed suggested.

"Spectre? That's not bad." Vic agreed. "But I've swear I've heard that used by someone else already."

"I'm not calling myself Spectre. It sounds nice and I do have one alien that it would work with but no." Will told him before reaching his hand out. "Water."

Vic took the wrench back and handed him a bottle of water. "Come on, dude. I'm giving you gold here. Just pick one." Ed told him as Will pulled himself out from under the car.

"Why do you care so much about my codename?" Will asked, wiping his face with a clean rage.

"Dude. I just found out that one of my best friends is a superhero with an alien watch that lets him transform into aliens and he works for a secret government organization that protects the planet? How can you not want a codename? Unless you want to stick with that Skullmaster moniker Catco gave you?" Ed asked in disbelief.

"No, I don't call myself that." Will assured him. "That's a stupid name anyway."

"Yeah, it wasn't Cat Grant's best." Vic admitted as Will got up and grabbed the tire. "Will, what do you want to go by?"

"I don't know. A name hasn't come to me yet." He replied while rolling the tire over to the car and then lifted it up onto the wheel. He grabbed the electric lug nut wrench and proceeded to fasten each lug nut onto the tire. Vic and Ed winced at the loud sound of the electric wrench.

"Why not?!" Ed shouted, needing to raise his voice so Will could hear him over the noise.

"I designed my armor and stuff but I could never think of a name that worked!" He answered. "I thought about Omni but it didn't feel right!"

"It's all right! Omni's not bad but not good!" Vic said as Will screwed in the last lug nut. "It needs something."

"Omniman?" Ed suggested and Will shrugged.

"I actually thought about calling my Kryptonian form Omniman and I'll admit it was a lost moment but I'm liking Ultraman." Will pointed out as he put the wrench down and got up to look around his car. He finished all the heavy work he needed to do. The rear axles were fixed, the new tire was put on, all the destroying paneling was replaced along with the roof and the windows were put in. All in all, the car was back together in one piece. He grabbed a clean rag and a bottle of wax to make the car shine. "Guess coming up with a name's been a little hard because my situation is a little different."

"What do you mean?" Vic asked.

"Well, the other heroes I've met all have a sort of unifying theme that sort of defines them. Batman is obviously nocturnal mammal themed with the vengeance, brooding, and vigilante activities but I've fought beside him and he's earned his reputation." He told them.

"Is his suit as awesome as we think it is?" Ed asked and Will nodded.

"Anyway, the bat motif and his gear works with Batman. Superman, obviously we got the big S on the chest and he is super. Green Lantern, he's green and there's the lantern symbol on his chest. Hawkwoman is self-explanatory and even Diana is already being dubbed Wonder Woman by the media." Will listed off.

"Knowing that you and your dad helped her does make more sense as to how he managed to be dating her." Vic stated and Ed agreed.

"My point…" Will said, trying to get them to focus on the matter at hand and not on their crushes on Diana. "…is that they have a central motif they project themself with. I, on the hand have mixed it up. I've got an alien watch that lets me turn into aliens and wear a highly advanced nanotech suit with a mix-mash of weapons to fight. How do you make a superhero name for that?"

"Why did you make the armor in the first place?" Ed asked him.

"To keep my identity a secret. If I just go out and transform into my aliens I risk turning back at the wrong moment and boom, the whole world knows who I am. Kind of makes it harder to do my job that way." He pointed out. "This way the armor keeps my face hidden, gives me some protection in case I need to fight without my aliens, and the only thing people know about me is the symbol of the Omnitrix."

"Hmmm…" Ed touched his chin and hummed to himself looking like someone in a deep contemplative thought. "That's our issue then. Rather than find a codename for a hero based on his looks, appearances, or powers we should give you a regular name and let it stand for itself. But we make it something impressive and speaks volume to what you can do. How about…Legion?"

Ed let the moment sink in so Vic and Will could think it over. "Meh." Vic said.

"It's not bad." Will admitted as he wiped his rag over his car and buffed it out with the wax to make it all shiny. "Keep trying, Ed. Who knows, maybe I'll come up with something. I've made names for all my aliens so I should be able to come up with a codename for myself. Now, if you two want to help me make this go faster so we can go to Big Belly Burger, that would be great."

Vic and Ed relented and grabbed rags to help him finish waxing his car. By the time they were done it was all shiny and looking just as good as before it got wrecked by Hex. They put away all the tools and then Will drove them to Big Belly Burger. After getting three Big Belly Burster combos with sodas, they sat down in a booth near the window. "So, Vic. How're the ribs?" Will asked him.

"They're doing fine. The Coach and the doctors want me to sit out the first two games but I should be good to go by the third. They don't want me to hurt them even more and wreck my chances at getting looked at by scouts." Vic answered.

"Oh, you're a sure in for a full ride. Any schools already sending you stuff?" Will wondered and Vic nodded.

"Yeah, a few. University of Florida, Michigan, UCLA, Ohio, Notre Dame, and Indiana." Vic listed.

"Nice. Once they see Vic Stone playing the rest of the season then more and more offers are gonna come. But if I had to make a recommendation, avoid anyplace that gets too cold in the winter." Will joked and Vic chuckled when the two noticed Ed was busy on his phone. "Ed? You ok?"

"Yeah. Just texting with Beth." He answered, putting his phone away and taking a sip of soda.

"Ah, Beth. You two have been hanging out a lot in the summer. Anything we should know about?" Vic playfully asked and got shoved in response.

"Shut up." Ed told them both and they chuckle when they heard police and fire sirens. Then a large convoy of police cars and fire trucks sped down the road for all to see. They must be responding to a serious fire.

Will took another bite out of his burger when he noticed Vic and Ed looking at him. "What?" He asked them and they gestured outside to the sound of the sirens. "Ugh…don't eat my burger."

He got up out of the booth and walked out of Big Belly Burger to find someplace he could change. Ed and Vic watched him leave before both started eating his fries. Will ran into a nearby ally and pressed his belt, activating his armor. It quickly formed around him from head to toe and after activating his flight wings he took up into the air. The police and fire trucks arrived at a building fire consuming a 5 floor apartment building. Most of the residents had managed to evacuate the building before the fire spread like it did but a mother and son weren't so lucky.

They were trapped in a room with the collapsing ceiling blocking off their exits. The mother held her son close and they closed their eyes as they waited for the ceiling to come down on them only it never did. The boy opened his eyes and looked on in amazement.

"Who are you?"

He was speaking to Heatblast who was currently holding up some ceiling rubble that would have fallen on the mother and son. "I'm here to help." Heatblast told them before tossing aside the rubble and held his hands in front of his body. He absorbed all the fire in the room, saving the mother and son from any heat and smoke while also clearing a path to the exit. He motioned them to follow and they did. They walked out into the hallway and towards the stairs. "This way."

They rushed over when the stairs collapsed and part of the ceiling came down in the area. "On second thought, that way." Heatblast led them the other way but it came to a dead end. That didn't stop Heatblast who aimed his fingers at the wall and fired a concentrated blast of heat to carve out an exit. Once the exit hole was carved, a fire tornado burst out from the house and landed on the ground before it flew back up into the air.

The bystanders and first responders watched in amazement as they saw the mother and son appear on the sidewalk, having been taken down by the fire tornado that suddenly appeared but were unharmed. The fire tornado flew up into the air around the burning apartment building and all the fire was absorbed into it. The crowd watched in amazement with some recording videos on their phone but within seconds the fire was extinguished and the fire tornado flew away. It landed on the roof of a building several blocks away and after a flash of green light, Will reappeared in his armor.

"That wasn't that bad." Will was about to deactivate his armor when his HUD picked up a silent alarm tripped at a bank 10 blocks away from the fire at the apartment building. At first glance you'd think that the two incidents were unconnected but the fact that all the nearby police units were too busy dealing with the fire to respond to the bank alarm made it seem like more than a coincidence. "And the hits keep on coming."

He jumped off the building as his flight wings activated and he flew away. A four door sedan was driving faster than normal as it sped through the streets of National City. Two robbers were in the car with ski masks over their heads. One of them was driving while the other was holding an AK-47. They had several bags filled with cash in the back seats and in the trunks were arson material so the duo were responsible for the apartment building fire. They set it to draw the cops away from the bank and it was working. They were on their way to the safehouse when one of them saw something in the rearview mirror. He peaked his head out of the window and that's when he saw the National City vigilante flying in the air towards them.

"Shit! Floor it!" He shouted so the driver did. The robber leaned out of the window with his AK-47 and began shooting at the vigilante.

Will saw him shooting so he just moved his wings in closer to his body and flew straight down to the car. The robber wasn't exactly Deadshot but was able to get lucky with a few bullets that deflected off or broke against his armor. The driver started to swerve to try and stay mobile but he just looked like an idiot. "He's not doing a very good job in trying to lose you, is he sir?" Jarvis pointed out.

"No, he is not Jarvis." Will remarked before activating his shield. He flipped forward in the air and threw his shield, hitting the right rear tire. The tire was destroyed which caused the car to spin out of control and going at the speed it was caused it to flip onto its side so it landed onto the roof and then landed back on its tires. The two robbers in the car groaned in pain from their little accident and likely suffering some bruised ribs and concussions which made them unable to put up a fight. The two were dragged out of the car and knocked out. When the police arrived a few moments later they saw the two robbers strung up on a street lamp near their wrecked car which had the bags of money they stole from the bank along with the arson material from the apartment building fire. Two separates cases solved in one fell swoop.

Will walked into the parking lot of the Big Belly Burger where he saw Vic and Ed waiting by his car. "We didn't eat your burger." Vic promised as Ed handed him the bag that had it. Will reached in to grab it but it had gotten cold.

"Yeah, that's not happening. My fries?" He wondered and they just sipped their sodas. "Just great."

He threw his food away in a huff before taking a deep breath to calm down. "How'd it go?" Vic wondered.

"Fine." Will answered, taking another deep breath to relax.

"The girls texted us to go meet them at the mall. Let's go." Ed told him as they got into the car. Will grumbled and got into the driver's seat and drove them to the National City mall.

Line Break xxxxx

After finding a parking spot, Will and his friends walked into the mall but they stopped at a Cinnabon by the entrance so Will could get some BonBites and a coffee. He smiled and moaned in delight as he ate the sugary sweet mini cinnamon buns that were coated in frosting. He'd likely feel like crap later and tomorrow when he was training but he felt so good right now. Ed reached to grab one so Will just smacked his hand away.

"Ow. What was that for?"

"That was for eating my fries." Will said as they walked through the mall to meet with Courtney, Beth, Yolanda, and Karen.

"Will, since we have a moment, do you plan on telling the girls about your secret? I mean, besides Beth?" Vic asked him.

"Yeah, Vic's got a point. The two of us and Beth know so do you plan on telling the others?" Ed wondered and Will wasn't sure on his answer.

"I honestly have no idea. To be honest with the way things have been going it seems like it's only a matter of time before they find out. Question is if I try to keep my secret so I don't involve them in this or should I just rip the band aid off." Will pondered.

"Them knowing might not be the worst idea. I mean, you pulled off your double life last year pretty well but you think you can do it again?" Ed questioned.

"Ed's got a point. It's our senior year so we're gonna be dealing with a lot. Not having to lie to the others and your girlfriend seems like a god idea. Especially when you have to duck out after school, can't hang out with us on the weekends or god forbid something happens to you dude." Vic added.

"Yeah, I know. And I'll admit that I haven't liked lying to Courtney. But how exactly do I bring it up? I take her out to dinner and when we're having dessert I just blurt it out. Hey, Courtney, I really like you but I've been lying to you and the others for months. The reason I moved to National City is because an alien device latched itself onto my wrist which allows me to transform into different aliens. I've been using it to help a secret government organization that monitors and protects the planet from alien threats and I'm secretly the National City Vigilante. I'm sorry, don't hate me for lying to your face and I hope you like the cheesecake." Will said, being as sarcastic as possible.

"Well, maybe not exactly like that." Vic told him.

"Cheesecake?" Ed was confused why he said that.

"It's Courtney's favorite." Will answered when he saw Courtney, Beth, Yolanda, and Karen standing near the coffee cart. The girls saw them and waved so they waved back when they felt a rumble shake the ground and building. The sound of car alarms going off outside in the parking lot could be heard along with more rumbling.

"Is this an earthquake?" Ed asked but Will noted that the rumbling felt too spaced out like it was a thumping.

"This doesn't feel like an earthquake." Will said when the something smashed through the ceiling of the mall. Everyone ran away in terror as rubble and glass rained down from the sky. A loud thud was heard as something clearly landed in the mall from the ceiling and when the dust settled everyone could see what it was. It was greenish-greyish skinned man with long grey hair wearing goggles. He had some kind of makeshift science equipment strapped to a vest and what looked like a helmet on his head. On his helmet seemed to be a cobbled together mess of science equipment on top of a spaghetti strainer with two laser nodes on the front that looked like horns. He wasn't the concern. The giant mutated four-eyed and horned bullfrog the size of a garbage truck was. "Yup. Definitely not an earthquake."

The man looked around until he saw one of those giant maps of the mall so he could figure out where to go. That's when two security guards rushed at him. "Hey, you! Get down from that uh…giant frog and put your hands on your head!"

The man just smirked as the giant frog leapt away further into the mall so the guards chased after him while calling the police. "This is going to be one weird story." Will said to himself before looking at Vic and Ed. "Get the girls out of here and head back to my car."

"And what do we tell them where you went?!" Vic shouted as Will ran after the man and giant frog.

"I don't know! Make something up!" He shouted back, running in the opposite direction of the fleeing and screaming mallgoers.

"Vic!" Karen and the other girls rushed over. She jumped into his arms and he held her. "Are you ok?"

"We're fine." He assured her.

"Did you guys see that thing? I mean, what was that? Some kind of mutant frog?" Yolanda asked when Courtney noticed Will was with them.

"Where's Will? He was here with you guys, right?" She asked.

"Yeah, he was. He uh…had to split up with us." Vic told her.

"Why?" Courtney questioned.

"He had to…uh, pick up something from the…pet store." Ed fumbled out of his mouth.

"Will doesn't have a pet." Courtney pointed out, finding that ridiculous.

"Right, he doesn't. But uh, his dad's girlfriend does…" Ed tried to cover up his flub but honestly just kept digging the hole for himself deeper and deeper.

"Let's get out of here. We'll meet him at his car." Vic told her.

"No, we should go meet up with him at the pet store. I need to know he's ok." Courtney said, leading Yolanda and Karen away while Beth looked at Vic and Ed. Both of whom slapped themselves on the forehead.

"You could have handled that better." She pointed out.

"Yeah." They agreed and chased after Beth and the others.

The man and his giant mutated frog smashed through the front doors and walls of the electronics store in the mall. The man got off the frog and made his way over to the back to steal some components he needed when the giant frog's head turned to the side. It jumped in front of the man to protect him from a shield heading his way. It instead hit the frog and bounced off his body. Will flipped through the air and caught his shield before landing on the ground in a superhero crouch. He was wearing his armor and his HUD began analyzing the giant mutated frog along with the man and the weird getup he had on.

"I don't know who you are but you're clearly not aware of this store's purchasing policy. That and your giant frog needs to be parked outside. Now, you and your frog put your hands up and we can end this peacefully." Will warned him.

"You think you can threaten the great Dr. Animo?! I possess an intellect your feeble, brutish mind can't even hope to comprehend. You've met your match, Skullmaster!" Dr. Animo shouted. "Get rid of him!"

The frog opened up its mouth and sent out its tongue like a whip. Will rolled to the side and then moved into a butterfly twist to avoid getting hit. The tongue smashed through displays and giant bulk electronics like they were made of cardboard. Clearly whatever Dr. Animo did to the frog also increased its strength. Will backflip in the air and fired a barrage of explosive disks at the frog but it spat out a bunch of green mucus and knocked the disks away. "Ugh, and I already hated frogs." Will gagged as he quickly dove to the side to avoid getting squished.

Animo watched as his frog kept the vigilante busy but then saw the pet store and smirked. He rushed over and ran into the store just as Courtney, Vic, and the others arrived. "Courtney, I really think we should head outside and find Will. He's likely already left the mall." Vic told her.

"Courtney, Vic's right. Will would leave as soon as something bad happened." Beth pointed out.

"Then why isn't he answering his phone?" Courtney pointed out. "He could be hurt."

"It's probably on silent." Ed suggested when they saw the vigilante get thrown out of the electronics store and slam into a pillar nearby. The girls and other civilians nearby screamed in fright as they saw the giant frog walk out of the store. Will picked himself up off the ground and shook his head.

"Ugh, that's gonna hurt tomorrow." He muttered when he saw Courtney and the others in front of him. "What are you still doing here?! Get out!"

There were two bright flashes of red coming from the pet store before something crashed through the window display. It looked like a hamster only it had mutated like the frog. It's eyes turned red, its small nails sharpened like razors, it grew two husks in its mouth and now was the size of a car. It was soon joined by a mutated Cockatoo with a large yellow crest on its head. The Cockatoo was easily the same size as the mutant frog and looked pissed.

"Arise to your full potential my pets!" Dr. Animo declared with glee as Will got in front of his friends to protect them.

"Oh, man. What kind of pet food were they selling around here?" Will remarked as the frog walked over so Animo could climb on.

"Behold the genius of Dr. Animo! Nothing can stop me from getting what I deserve! Mark my words! Today, I will make history or should I say Prehistory!" He declared as the giant mutant hamster roared and charged at them. Will needed an edge so he activated the Omnitrix and slammed the dial down on an alien. One bright flash of green light later and the giant hamster was knocked back. It slid on the ground back towards Animo and the mad scientist saw a giant yellow and black armored armadillo alien appear. "How is this possible?"

"You have your ways and I have mine!" Cannonbolt said before looking at Courtney and the others. "Get out of here!"

Cannonbolt curled up and sped towards Animo but the giant frog leapt out of the way. The giant cockatoo unfurled its giant wings and tried to grab Cannonbolt but the Arburian Pelarota was too fast and quickly got out of the way. Cannonbolt unfurled a bit to launch himself into the air where he bounced off the wall and slammed into the cockatoo before bouncing off and heading towards the frog. It jumped out of the way so Cannonbolt headed towards the giant hamster. It screeched and leapt at him but like before he managed to slam into it and sent it crashing into the ceiling. It then fell down to the ground hard and tried to get up only to slump down and fall unconscious.

Cannonbolt slid to a stop and unfurled himself. "Oh, yeah. Aliens beat mutated animals any day."

"I don't know what you are but you won't stop me from dragging this city back to the Jurassic era! And then no one will stop me!" Animo declared as he jumped onto the back of the giant cockatoo. It flew up and smashed through the skylight before flying away with the giant frog following fight behind him.

The Omnitrix symbol on Will's shoulder blinked red and soon he transformed back into human. "Yeesh. That guy needs some therapy." Will remarked.

"Dude!" Will turned and saw Ed rushed over and hug him. "That was awesome! You killed it, Will!"

"Ed, you idiot!" Will looked and saw that Vic, Courtney, Yolanda, and Beth were still there. They were the only people still in the mall. "You just blew his cover."

"Will, is that you?" Courtney asked in disbelief as Will saw there was no way he was getting out of this so he retracted the face covering of his helmet so they could see it was him. "Oh my god…"

"I know, I know I have a lot to explain and I will but I've got something to take care of." Will tossed Vic his car keys. "Get out of here. I've got to stop him. Oh, but before that."

He smacked Ed upside the head hard before his mask came back down and he flew away with his flight wings. "OW!" Ed rubbed the back of his head and tried to numb the pain because it really hurt. "What the hell was that for?"

"You blurted out his name, you idiot." Vic smacked him upside the head as well for making such a careless mistake.

"Ow!" Ed glared at him. "What? He was thinking of telling them."

"But he hadn't decided yet, dude! And what if anyone else was here? They would know who he was because you said his name!" Vic pointed out when Beth got between them.

"Easy, Vic. We all know Ed's not the brightest and doesn't really think before he does something."

"Hey!" Ed took offense to that.

"But we can worry about that later. Let's listen to Will and get out of here." Beth told him and Vic nodded.

"Wait, Beth you knew too?" Courtney was in disbelief at what was happening and how she, Karen, and Yolanda were the only two not in the loop.

"Ed and I only just found out. It's a long and complicated story." Beth told them.

"But something we can discuss later. Let's get out of here before the cops show up." Vic told them and they left.

Will was currently flying over the city using Jarvis and the DEO satellites to track Dr. Animo and his giant bird. For being a mutated bird, it was surprisingly fast for its giant size. Will's Hud was tracking it when he got an incoming transmission from the DEO. "Mr. Detmer, would you mind telling me why we're getting reports about a giant bird flying over the city?" Director Henshaw questioned.

"Short story: some mad scientist is mutating animals. I'm on him now." Will assured him.

"Alien tech?" Henshaw wondered and Will's HUD brought up the scans of Animo. It was advanced genetic mutation equipment despite its haphazard appearance but human made.

"No, human made. Just mad scientist improved. I'll handle him." Will replied.

"Roger that." Director Henshaw hung up after that.

"Jarvis, what did you find out about this guy?" Will asked so Jarvis brought up a file.

"Doctor Aloysuis James Animo. Five years ago, Dr. Animo worked as a head researcher making groundbreaking discoveries in the field of Veterinary science until it was discovered that he was performing unethical experiments by mutating animals. After a public meltdown and attempt assault at a science conference where he was nominated for a Veritas award for science excellence but didn't win, he was condemned and ostracized from the scientific community. No one has seen him since." Jarvis pulled up the article on Dr. Animo and included an old photo of him where he was normal looking instead of the greenish-greyish version he looked like now.

Will watched as he saw the bird making its way through the city at a fast pace. "Damn, that bird's fast. Jarvis, can you triangulate his destination?"

"Calculating…" Jarvis ran the numbers and it seemed he was heading east. "Top results for destination. National City University. Lord Technologies. National City Museum of Natural History."

"Museum…Jarvis, playback recording of Animo after he mutated the hamster and bird." Will told him so Jarvis brought up a recording to his HUD.

"Behold the genius of Dr. Animo! Nothing can stop me from getting what I deserve! Mark my words! Today, I will make history or should I say Prehistory!" Animo declared.

"Prehistory. He's heading to the museum!" The engines on Will's jetpack powered up and he flew there as fast as he could. He got there in a few minutes but Animo beat him considering the giant hole he saw in the roof. Will flew down and deactivated his flight wings before heading through the museum to the ancient history exhibit.

Will saw discarded boxes of electronic equipment Animo stole from the mall littered on the ground. He entered the main exhibit and saw Animo working on something. "You are very persistent. I hate persistent." Animo cursed.

"And I hate mad scientists who give Doctors a bad name. It's over, Dr. Animo. You're experiments are done. Now surrender…" Will activated his shield and sword. "…before I make you."

"Oh, I'm afraid my experiments have only just begun. See I only needed a few components to push my work into phase 2. The reanimation of dormant cells. Breathing life back into that which has since long been lifeless. Observe!" He twisted the dial on his vest and the horns on his helmet fired a mutating ray at the Wooly Mammoth on display. It's eyes lit up and began glowing red before it raised its trunk and let out a cry like an elephant. Then the giant 12ft, 8-ton Wooly Mammoth climbed down from the pedestal it was on. "Behold the genius that is Doctor Animo!"

Will stepped back in shock as the reanimated Wooly Mammoth let out another cry and grumble before looking right at him. "Sir, it would appear his mutation ray did as he said it would. The Wooly Mammoth has indeed been brought back to life." Jarvis informed him.

"That thing was real?! I always thought it was just a stuffed replica!" Will then quickly jumped back into the air to avoid getting grabbed by the Mammoth's trunk. He backflipped during his jump and activated the Omnitrix. In a flash of green light Four Arms landed in a crouch. "Bring it on Dumbo!"

The Mammoth roared and reared on its hind legs before charging with Four Arms doing the same. He grabbed it by the giant tusks and managed to wrestle it to the ground when it moved its trunk and wrapped it around his waist. It jostled him around before throwing him into a wall. Four Arms got back up and charged forward, landing a powerful right cross to the mammoth's head. He then grabbed one of its legs and lifted it up into the air and threw it across the museum where it crashed into a fossil display. It thrashed and tried to get up only for Four Arms to jump into the air and land onto its stomach, knocking it unconscious. With it taken out of commission he could focus on getting Animo when he heard a loud, familiar roar so he ran into the next hall and saw Animo on top of a giant reanimated Tyrannosaurus Rex. Unlike the Mammoth, parts of the skin hadn't grown back so some muscle and bone were showing. It was like if the T-Rex that lost the fight to the Spinosaurus in Jurassic Park 3 was brought back to life with real battle damage.

"This would be so cool in any other situation." Four Arms remarked before quickly ducking to avoid getting hit by the T-Rex's tail.

"I'd love to stay and chat but I'm off to get the reward I so righteously deserve!" Animo declared as the T-Rex broke through the wall of the museum and began heading into the city.

"Not on my watch!" Four Arms ran out of the museum and jumped into the air, aiming to slam into the T-Rex from above when he heard a caw and the mutated cockatoo grabbed him from behind. It used its large talons to grab onto Four Arm's arms and took him in the opposite direction away from Animo. "You are so not getting a cracker after this!"

Four Arms managed to maneuver one of his smaller arms up to the bird's leg and grabbed a handful of feathers before pulling hard. The mutated bird squawked in pain, letting Four Arms drop but he touched the Omnitrix on his shoulder and in a flash of green light he transformed into Stinkfly. "I would have gone for Ultraman or Warhawk but Stinkfly works too." Stinkfly saw the bird fly around back towards him so he flew away. The bird was fast but Stinkfly was more maneuverable and fast enough to stay out of reach. "Come on, Polly! Want a cracker?!"

Stinkfly led the cockatoo on a chase through the city taking a path through some narrow streets. The Lepidopterran's smaller stature and wings made it easier for him to fly while the giant bird had to stick to the wider streets. Stinkfly took a left down a narrow alleyway between two buildings and the giant bird was stopped dead in its tracks because it couldn't fit so it flapped its wings to gain altitude. That was exactly what Stinkfly wanted as it flew straight up at high speed and hit the bird in the jaw with its sharp and powerful tail. The cockatoo squawked and squealed in pain as it tried to stabilize itself in the air after the hit but it's momentary daze was all Stinkfly needed to end the fight. He shot out four streams of goo from the four pollen ducts on its eyes at the mutated cockatoo and the alien adhesive tied its wings. Stinkfly shot several more globs of goo from its eyes and the giant mutated cockatoo was captured in a giant goo net tied between two buildings. Its wings were stretched out and its talons were covered in the goo so it couldn't claw its way out. He fired one more glob of goo on the bird's beak so it couldn't pick its way out.

"Ha! Enjoy your new nest, Tweety." Stinkfly joked as the Omnitrix on his face blinked red and he turned back into Will. He activated his flight wings and flew away to find Dr. Animo.

At Kelly Industries, head researcher and CEO Dr. Robert Kelly was entertaining some guests for an event at his building which included some members of the press as well. He took them on a tour of the building and showed them around. Part of the tour led them to a wall that had all his scientific awards on display.

"And here is my Veritas Award. Of course, it was an honor to just be nominated with such a distinguished group of scientists…" Dr. Kelly said when everyone felt the building shake. That's when the reanimated T-Rex busted through the side of the building and roared causing everyone to run for cover.

"Kelly! I believe you have something of mine!" Dr. Animo declared as the T-Rex roared in his face. Dr. Animo jumped down from his dinosaur and took the award from the display case. "I'd like to thank the committee for this honor and thank Dr. Kelly for keeping this warm for me! Now, my pet! Dinner!"

The T-Rex roared in Dr. Kelly's face and opened up its jaw to eat him when Will flew down and grabbed him. He flew around and placed Dr. Kelly with the other guests before flying around to avoid getting eaten and or hit by the T-Rex's tail. "Sorry but human isn't on the menu!" Will did a barrel roll to avoid getting hit by the T-Rex's tail before firing a barrage of explosive disks at the dinosaur. It flinched from the impacts and roared at Will in anger.

"You are beginning to get annoying, you pest!" Dr. Animo shouted.

"Oh good. Then I'm doing my job!" Will quipped before flying around to avoid getting hit by Dr. Animo's mutation laser. He activated his shield and flew down before doing a quick spin and dive to avoid the dinosaur's mouth as he flew in between its legs and when he came up the other side he threw his shield and hit Dr. Animo in the arms.

"No!" Dr. Animo lost the grip of his award and it fell to the ground. With his focus on the award, Will flew at him and yanked the helmet off his head. "My transmodulator!"

Will landed on the ground and crushed it with his boot. It released a wave of energy and the flesh of the T-Rex melted followed by its muscles, nerves, and blood until it was a skeleton again. A T-Rex skeleton without the cables to keep it upright so it quickly crumbled to the ground with Dr. Animo trapped. Will turned and saw the giant mutated bull frog leap at him only to shrink and return to normal size. It stopped in front of him and croaked before hopping away.

"Your welcome! Watch out for cars when crossing the street!" Will waved goodbye before he kicked up his shield and threw it at Dr. Animo, hitting the mad doctor right in the face. It bounced back into Will's arm with the mad scientist slumped over, unconscious. Will walked over and picked up the broken award as the building's security came over and pulled Animo out of the rubble to secure him. Dr. Kelly walked over and looked at the award in Will's hands. "Sorry about your reward."

"It wasn't my favorite." Dr. Kelly admitted before shaking Will's hand. "Thank you, Skullmaster."

"Don't mention it. Just doing my job but that's not my name. Despite what Catco media would have you believe, I don't call myself Skullmaster." Will told him.

"Then what do you call yourself?" Will turned and saw several reporters there with their notepads while their cameramen took photos.

"Uh…" Will wasn't sure what to say.

"How long have you been active?"

"Where are you from?"

"How long have you been protecting National City?"

"Eye witness reports state that you have the ability to transform into creatures? How is this possible?"

"Reports from the Battle of Washington DC show you were there? How did you know about the invasion?"

"Do you know Wonder Woman?"

"How familiar are you with Superman?"

Will was a little overwhelmed with the reporters and all their questions which is when Dr. Kelly got in front and ushered them back. "Please, everyone. Let's not crowd him. He saved all of us from that maniac so the least we could do is not crowd him." Dr. Kelly pleaded.

"Who are you?" One reporter asked aloud and everyone waited for an answer. Will wasn't sure where he came up with the name but he just went with it.

"A protector. Someone National City can count on to protect them. And that's all that should matter." Will told them as he started to walk away.

"But what do we call you?" another reporter asked.

"Call me…Sentry." Will told them before activating his flight wings and flying away. The news reporters were quick to write everything down as this was the news scoop of the year.

One hour later…

The National City Police arrived at Kelly Industries and had the Fire Department secure the scene while they investigated and spoke to all the witnesses about the events. The Police CSU team were having a hard time as they were tasked with categorizing and securing Dr. Animo's destroyed mutation technology along with the giant pile of bones from the T-Rex. The museum had already sent a representative to help them properly categorize them for safe transport. Will had comeback after finding his way to someplace secure he could deactivate his armor and joined the group of bystanders watching from the perimeter. He and the others watched as two police officers brought Dr. Animo over to a squad car in handcuffs.

"Let me go! I deserve that award! I got it coming to me! I want it!" Animo shouted and tried to get free but the police just shoved him into the car. He pressed his face up against the window and gave everyone, including the news a good look at his crazy face.

"Yeesh. Someone needs some therapy." Will muttered when he heard a chirp and saw a white cockatoo fly down and land on his arm. It was white with a yellowish color to its crown and Will realized it must be the one that Dr. Animo mutated. "Glad your back to normal too but I was kidding about the cracker. Besides, I'm not much of a bird person."

The bird tilted its head before it pecked its beak at Will's hand. "Ow…" Will flexed his fingers and the bird flew away. "Yeah, definitely not a bird person."

He heard the roar of a car engine and saw his Camaro pull up onto the road and park. Vic got out of the driver's seat, Courtney in the front passenger seat while Yolanda, Beth, and Karen got out of the back seat. Vic then walked to the back and unlocked the trunk so Ed could climb out. Will walked over to them away from the crowd of bystanders watching the crime scene when Courtney rushed over and jumped into his arms. She hugged him and he held her close.

"Oh, thank god you're ok." Courtney whispered.

"I'm all right. Nothing I haven't had to do before." He assured her, rubbing his hand up and down her back to soothe her. She then pulled away from the hug and slapped him across the face. "Ow! What was that for?"

"What do you think?! For lying to me for months! How do you think I feel?!" Courtney shouted and Will quickly pulled her further away from crowd of bystanders so they could speak in private.

"I know, I know I lied to you for months and I'm sorry but it was to protect you. And I'm not exactly allowed to tell people what I can do and who I am." He told her.

"Oh, yet Vic, Ed, and Beth know but not your girlfriend?" Courtney pointed out. "How do you think that makes me feel that they knew but I didn't?"

"Bad and I'm sorry but it wasn't planned." He admitted. "Vic found out on his own and through a weird series of events that involved that weird magic guy from the museum Beth and Ed found out as well. And even when they found out they had to sign NDAs and couldn't say anything."

"NDAs? Are you in witness protection or something?" Courtney asked.

"No, it's complicated…but if you want to know I'll tell you. Courtney, my life is beyond complicated and months ago I would have liked nothing more than to keep this part of my life a secret from you and the others because of how dangerous it is. I've dealt with gangs, criminals, supervillains, and guys like that Dr. Animo and I wanted to keep you safe." He told her.

"So, you would have gone the rest of our lives without you telling me?" Courtney asked him.

"If this was months ago, then I would say yes but now…now, I'm kind of glad you know. Even if this is not the way I would have told you." He admitted. "I just never expected…"

"Expected what? That I'd find out on my own and catch you red handed?" She wondered.

"No, I never expected us." He said and Courtney was surprised. "I never expected us to be together. I've had to do a lot of growing up in a short span of time and come to terms with a lot of decisions regarding my life after I moved here to National City. But one thing I haven't regretted is the meeting you and the others. Courtney, this part of my life is dangerous and I never wanted you to get hurt but please know that it killed me inside every time I had to lie to you."

"Well…as excuses go…it's not terrible." Courtney admitted when he brought his hand up and cupped her cheek.

"I thought that maybe keeping you out of the loop would be better for you but I was wrong. I was an idiot so maybe fate or destiny made this happen so you could know." Will said as they looked in each other's eyes and felt like they were in a rom-com scene. "Courtney, I have no idea what's gonna happen from now but I do know this."

"What?" Courtney asked.

"I know…" Will drew in closer as the two were lost in each other's gaze.

"You do…"

"Do what?"

"What?"

The two closed their eyes and leaned in to kiss, feeling the electricity in the air like they were all alone.

"Hey!" And like a bucket of ice cold water, Ed's shout completely ruined the moment.

"What?!" Courtney and Will shouted back.

"Not to ruin your moment but do you think we can take this someplace more private. You're starting to draw some attention." Ed pointed out and he was right. Will and Courtney's little romantic staring contest caught the attention of some of the bystanders and they all smiled or were in awe at the little romance going on.

"Fair enough." Will admitted and Courtney agreed. He noticed everyone looking but didn't care and quickly leaned down and gave her a quick kiss on the lips. She blushed a bit as the group went back to Will's car and Vic handed him the keys back. "Courtney, Beth, Yolanda, Karen you're gonna have to share the backseat. Vic's too tall and needs the front. Ed you're going back in the trunk."

"Yeah, I figured." He walked over and climbed in. "So, take it easy with the driving."

"Oh, sure. Of course." He promised but had an evil glint in his eyes. Suffice to say that he planned to take every sharp turns and hit every road bump possible but eventually took them to someplace where they could talk in private. At a non-descript four-floor office building with an old clocktower overlooking everything. Will drove up to the gate of the freight entrance before he took out the Proto-box from the glove compartment and pressed a button which opened the gate. He drove in and the gate closed behind them as Will parked the car. When he got out the lights turned on to show that they were in what looked like the old garage for the building and it even had some tarp covered old vehicles and what looked like the remnants of a functioning garage. (1)

Vic and the girls got out of the car while Will opened up the trunk so Ed could stumble out. "I'm guessing those sharp turns and bumps were because you're still pissed I exposed your secret?" Ed guessed.

"Yup. I feel better now." Will pat Ed on the shoulder and smiled.

"What is this place? Your secret lair?" Yolanda wondered.

"No but not a bad idea. This is an old outpost that belongs to the government organization I work for but they haven't used it in years. They still own the lease and the place is isolated so at the very least I could restore the garage incase my car ends up getting destroyed again." Will brought over some stools so they could all sit down. "Figured this would be a good place to talk."

"And there's a lot to talk about. You're gonna want to sit down. It's a long story." Vic told them as he, Ed, and Beth sat down so Courtney, Yolanda, and Karen did.

"First things first…please no that I didn't keep my secret because I felt that no one here could keep it. Well, except for Ed…" Will said and they all looked at him.

"And once again, I'm sorry. I'll remember to keep my mouth shut." Ed promised.

"Good luck with that." Yolanda quipped.

"The reason I never told you guys is because I really wasn't supposed to. Vic was the first one to find out and he did that on his own during Junior Prom." Will said.

"Wait those guys in the knight armor that broke in. They were looking for you, weren't they?" Courtney said and Will nodded as he raised his arm to show them the Omnitrix.

"Because of this. It all goes back to about a year ago before I even came to National City. I was riding my bike on my way home from school and meteor crashed down. Only it wasn't exactly a meteor…" Will then began to go into detail on what happened. His own sort of origin story if you will. There were some things he didn't tell them about the DEO because they weren't supposed to know about a secret government organization that monitored alien activity and protected the planet. But he told them everything else including some of his adventures. It felt good to let it all out and knowing he wouldn't need to lie to his friends or girlfriend made it better. And they swore to keep it a secret no matter what. Extra swearing on Ed's part.

A few hours later…

Will returned home and walked in to see his dad working on his laptop at the kitchen table. "Hey, dad…um…I'm not sure if you've heard but I've had to deal with another weird situation in the city." He told him.

"Oh, I've heard." Max turned his laptop around to show Will a breaking news article published about Dr. Animo and the National City Vigilante. The headline read Mutant Rampage stopped by Sentry: National City's Hero names himself.

"Wow, that was fast." He admitted. He didn't think the media would put up this story this quickly.

"So, a mad doctor and a mutation ray? That must have been interesting." Max said.

"It had its moments but that's not what I wanted to talk to you about. Uh…you know how that thing with Hex meant that Beth and Ed figured out my secret? Well, this situation kind of led the rest to figuring it out." He admitted.

"Oh boy. Director Henshaw's not gonna be happy about this." Max pointed out.

"If it's any conciliation I never said anything about him or anything serious about the DEO that they shouldn't know about. If I'm being honest I just told them about me and how I ended up here in National City." He explained. "Suffice to say that Courtney wasn't exactly thrilled that I was lying to her for months but I think we're ok now."

"Look, Will I have to tell you that I think it's a bit dangerous that your friends know who you are and what you do now. All it takes is the wrong word or something slipping out and things get a lot more complicated." Max reminded him.

"I know, dad, I know but what was I supposed to do? Erase their minds?" He asked and saw Max contemplate that. "Wait, you're not suggesting I erase their minds, are you?"

"No, no. I'm just worried. I understand that lying to your friends couldn't have been easy but now that they know I just have a feeling that things are gonna be more complicated." Max told him.

"That seems to be a defining characteristic of my life ever since I got the Omnitrix." Will remarked.

"Isn't that the truth." Max muttered. "So, what made you think of the name Sentry?"

"I kind of just made it up on the spot. I told them I was a protector and it just popped into my head. I'm not sure what came over me in that moment but it just came out." Will admitted. "It's not terrible so maybe it'll stick. At the very least it's better than Skullmaster."

"Definitely." Max agreed.

Atlantic Ocean

A very fancy private helicopter was flying over the Atlantic ocean carrying Will, Max, and Diana on their way to a vacation. The summer was nearly over and Will would be going back to school. Max's time stuck in the garage of the DEO was finally over and he felt kind of bad that Will wasn't able to have a summer vacation he could enjoy with his time spent at the DEO every single day. Especially with all the good work he's put in. Thankfully, an opportunity came up when an old friend of Max's invited him for a private stay at a new hotel he had built. Having a few days to relax at a private hotel sounded good so he agreed. After a plane ride to Miami, they met the private helicopter that took them out to the Atlantic.

Will looked out the window of the helicopter and saw nothing but pristine ocean for miles. He smiled and leaned back into his chair made of rich, expensive leather. It felt like the softest chair ever made and he relished in it as he took a sip of water. He looked over and saw his dad and Diana sitting next to one another, sipping some champagne, and eating some of the nice finger foods set out for them.

"Dad, you are awesome. Picked up in a billionaires private helicopter to stay at his brand new hotel before anyone else. This is a vacation." Will leaned back and activated his chair's footrest. "I still can't believe you were college roommates with billionaire hotel and resort developer Donavan Gran Smith."

"Yeah, we had some good times in college and have kept in touch over the years. When he made the offer to come stay at his new resort before it was opened to the public I figured it was the vacation we needed to end the summer." Max told him.

"I must say that while I'm still learning much about Man's world is does boggle the mind as to why someone would build a place for vacation in the middle of the ocean." Diana pointed out.

"If there's one thing about Donovan is that he's always been open to out of the box ideas." Max remembered.

"Passengers, if you'll please fasten your seatbelts we'll be commencing our landing shortly." The pilot radioed so they did. The helicopter soon arrived at an old World War 2 submarine pen that had been completely refurbished for Donavan's resort. It had a giant structure built on the water with various docks that could fit various sized boats from small yachts to huge ocean cruise liners. At the moment there were several yachts anchored at the dock while the helicopter hovered down and landed on the helipad.

The pilots powered down the helicopter and the helipad crew opened up the door so Max, Diana, and Will could get out while they handled their luggage. The trio were met with fresh sea air, bright sun, and Donavan Grand Smith himself. He was the same age as Max but had a grey tinge to his hair. He was wearing a fancy sweater and khaki combo emblazoned with his initials.

"Maxwell Detmer, it's been way too long." Donavan said as Max walked over and the two hugged.

"How are you, Donavan?" Max asked.

"Well, with 16 resorts worldwide, I'd say pretty good. I'm glad you reached out and accepted my invitation to stay. You're gonna love it. It'll be the best and most memorable vacation you can imagine." Donavan promised.

"I'm looking forward to it." Max replied when Donavan noticed Diana. "Donavan, this is Diana Prince. Diana, this is my old college friend Donavan."

"Pleasure to meet you." Diana shook his hand and Donavan smiled.

"The pleasure's all mine." Donavan looked at Max and smirked. "You always were the ladies man in college, Max. Glad to see you haven't lost your touch."

"I didn't need to hear that." Will muttered.

"And it looks like your son has grown a lot as well. The last picture you showed me of him he was in diapers and had melted ice cream all over his face." Donavan said and the adults chuckled.

"Dad!" Will shouted in protest.

"What? It was a cute picture." Max pointed out and Diana chuckled. "And you still have that ice cream addiction."

"Well, don't worry Will. If Ice Cream is what you want then you can find it here and more. I have a retro-style ice cream parlor for old school treats not to mention a gelataria with the finest Gelato on this half of the Atlantic." Donavan promised and Will was already planning what he was going to have. "Not to mention the best restaurants ever and enough of them so you can have something different each night and never get bored. I've spared no expense and you'll get your fill. Ready for a vacation?"

"Lead the way." Max told him as some resort workers came over and gave Max and Diana some Mimosas while Will just got orange juice. Donavan led them down the helipad to the main resort structure where they saw more people hanging around and enjoying themselves. "Who are they?"

"Some of my other guests here for the private opening like you. Some friends of the company and a few celebrities to drum up some publicity for the resort. The official opening is a week away while you and my guests get to stay here for the private opening." Donavan told him when Will recognized one of the celebrities.

"No way. Dad, is that Keira Knightley over there? Oh, and there's Tiger Woods! Tom Brady! And Beyonce! Oh man, the others are gonna be so jealous." Will boasted. "I can't wait to rub this in. Would it be rude to ask for a photo or an autograph? I'm gonna go do it."

Will rushed down the stairs to try and get a photo or an autograph. Or both. "Looks like your son is already enjoying his vacation." Donavan remarked.

"Well, he's earned it. He's worked himself really hard this school year and summer so a well deserved break was needed." Max pointed out and Donavan pat him on the arm.

"I'm glad you decided to come, Max. It's been too long." Donavan told him.

"It has. Hopefully this will only be the first of many." Max suggested.

"Sounds good to me. Come on. Let me introduce you to some friends." Donavan offered as he led Max and Diana over to the crowd of other guests.

"Who is Keira Knightley?" Diana asked Max and he chuckled in response.

Will walked through the crowd of guests staying at the hotel and moved over to unoccupied part of the pier so he could look at the photos he took. He had the biggest smile on his face as he looked at the photos he got. Him and Beyonce, him and Tiger Woods, him and Tom Brady and him and Keira Knightley. The celebrities were smiling and Beyonce even gave him a kiss on the cheek. "Oh, man. The others are gonna be so jealous." He chuckled to himself when he noticed a weird glow in the water below. "What the…"

He walked over to get a closer look and saw a faint blue glow beneath the surface of the water but it was small meaning it must be deep.

"WILL!"

He turned his head and saw his dad waving him over as they were heading inside so he walked and joined his dad with all the other guests. Donavan walked up onto a stage and grabbed a microphone so he could speak. "I want to thank all of you for coming here today for this special opening of my newest luxury resort. Now, some of you may be wondering about my thought process? Why would Donavan Gran Smith build a resort way out here on the ocean? Well, I didn't. What you see here isn't actually the resort but rather the waiting area for the actual resort…which is about 8,000 feet under us. Are you all ready to take the plunge?!"

There was some indistinct chattering and murmuring in the crowd about his statement and proclamation. "Uh, dad. He was kidding about the whole resort being underwater, wasn't he?" Will asked Max.

"Uh…"

"Max, come on. You'll ride down with me." Donavan motioned him over so Max, Diana, and Will followed him inside the structure with the other guests. There they saw some stores and restaurants but mainly a control center for a special kind of giant elevator down to the resort. They got into what looked like giant tubes you'd see at the Disney World River Rapids ride, the giant circular sitting platform you ride through the water but this one was bolted onto cables and ramps that ran through a giant tunnel down into the water below. Everyone got into their seats and buckled up with the crew making sure they were set. Once they gave the elevator team the thumbs up their platform began taking them down the giant water elevator. The windows were clear so they could see outside into the ocean.

"Whoa…" Will muttered in amazement as they heard a whale cry and saw one swim by.

"Donavan, are you sure this was the safest place to build a resort like this?" Max asked him.

"You're talking underwater fault lines?" Donavan clarified.

"I'm talking more like you're smack dab in the middle of the Bermuda Triangle." Max reminded him.

"You always were the worrier, Max. Don't worry. Everything's been taken care of." Donavan assured him as they kept descending and saw a giant domed structure built on the same valley as a giant underwater canyon. "I give you the world's first and only Underwater Resort. You won't believe what's down here."

"How did you do this? How is the pressure not cracking that dome like an egg?" Will asked.

"The best technology money can buy. Micro-titanium threads tempered to withstand up to 10 atmospheres worth of pressure. Nobody gets wet here unless it's in one of the 9 pools, 15 hot tubs or the mock beach we created." Donavan promised.

"Very impressive, Donavan." Max complimented him as their platform stopped at the bottom. The maintenance crew made sure they were secure before helping them off where they were met by the resort staff who were all smiles and compliments like they would be.

"Well, for $2 Billion, it ought to be. But, you know, money isn't everything." Donavan remarked when he saw Will over with Diana by the giant glass wall looking out into the ocean. There was a worker in a scuba suit cleaning the wall and he waved at everyone so they waved back. Will and Diana took a funny selfie next to him when a school of fish swam and lingered around the worker. Will then made funny faces at the fish and some of them stopped and looked him in return. The guests and some of the workers laughed as Will seemed to get a reaction out of the fish swimming by. "Will seems to be getting along with Diana, pretty well."

"Their relationship is actually how I met her. He kind of introduced me." Max said and Donavan chuckled.

"You've got a good kid there, Max. I can tell. And if he's anything like you when we were younger then he's set." Donavan praised.

"Thanks. How's your son Edwin doing?" Max asked and Donavan sighed.

"All right. He spends a lot of time with his mother since I'm so busy. He's sharp as a razor and got a keen mind for business. I'm grooming him to hopefully taking over the empire one day. You know, keep it in the family but it hasn't been easy." Donavan replied.

"Parenting rarely ever is. It hasn't always been all sunshine and roses. Will and I hit some hard times when Maria passed away…but we pulled through." Max admitted.

"What's your secret?" Donavan wondered.

"Well, I never expected him to be a mini-version of me. I let him be himself, faults and all. Though to be honest, he found his way to take after me the past year. Still, I don't force or push, I guide and let him make his own decisions and just hope I raised him right to know the good from the bad when the time comes." Max explained. "Kids have an amazing way of rising to the occasion when its called for."

That's when the lights flickered and an alarm went off. Will and everyone saw the fish swim away. The platform the scuba worker was on shook and he lost his footing. He fell off and got caught in the current made by the nearby vents. He was flung back but stopped thanks to his oxygen line which was the only thing keeping him from getting dragged away by the current but it wouldn't last forever.

The workers radioed security for help but Will saw the oxygen line getting pulled and knew it wouldn't last forever. He saw a nearby maintenance hatch that led to a pressurized corridor to access the sea so he made his way over there to go save the guy using Ripjaws.

"Hey, look!" One of the guests shouted and everyone saw two sharks heading straight for the worker so they started to panic but when the sharks got close they suddenly went stiff and swam away. That's when they saw someone swim over and grab the worker. And it was a person actually swimming outside of the dome holding his breath and sustaining the heavy pressure of the water like it was nothing. The guy was wearing jeans and barefoot with no shirt so clearly the pressure and temperature of the water didn't bother him. Will wasn't able to see much until the guy swam closer to the resort barrier and that's when he saw the guy appeared to be of Polynesian heritage, had long hair with a beard, was likely in his mid to late 20s, was tall at about 6ft4 and equally as built with complex tattoos all over his stomach, arms, chest, and shoulders with a green-stone necklace floating around his neck. The other noticeable thing were his brown-yellow eyes that seemed to have a shimmer about them like some fish do. (2)

The guy looked around to find a place to put the worker so Will waved around to get his attention. The guy eventually saw Will flailing around before he motioned to the pressurized corridor off to the side with an access hatch he could access. He gave Will a nod in thanks and swam over there. There was an alarm at the maintenance hatch as the workers rushed over and opened it. Some water spilled out as the worker walked through, safe and sound. Everyone clapped and cheered with the workers checking on their colleague when they heard a muffled boom and saw the man swimming away at super speed. He was moving so fast that he was making jet streams in the water.

"Harvey, are you all right?" Donavan rushed over to check on his worker.

"I'm fine, sir. Just lost my footing." He said.

"All right, well that's enough for you today. Get yourself checked out and get some rest." Donavan told him and the man nodded. Some of the workers helped him up and led him away.

"Is he going to be all right?" Max wondered.

"We have a doctor and several medics in the resort. He'll get the best care he can. I'll have to double his salary but he won't breath a word." Donavan replied before he turned to face his guests. "Sorry for the slight scare everyone but rest assured you are all safe within the resort! Now, let's show you all to your rooms!"

The guests followed Donovan down the large corridor to the resort while Max, Diana, and Will lingered in the back a bit. "Who was that man who saved the worker?" Diana asked.

"No idea. Not someone on the DEO's radar. Will?" Max asked him. Given his superhero/fanboy status he likely had an idea.

"That guy's new. He's been regulated to being a rumor for years until some pictures and videos of him started to surface. A guy who can breath underwater, is super strong, swim super-fast, and some people think he can control sea animals. They call him the Aquaman." Will answered.

"Well, good thing Aquaman showed up when he did." Max said.

"Although it was odd that he happened to be so close." Diana pointed out.

"Yeah, like he was already nearby." Will added.

"MAX! COME ON!" Donavan shouted so the trio kept moving. They joined the other guests and were shown the rest of the resort. It was massive with a giant luxury hotel, several pools, restaurants, and all the First-Class amenities you could want in a Five-Star resort. Just underwater.

Several Hours later…

Will was walking through the resort dressed in a pair of sandals, some swim shorts, and a white t-shirt. He was officially on vacation and he liked it. After getting settled into their suite which was an awesome three bedroom, two bathroom behemoth that put their condo in National City to shame they rested a bit and then got some lunch at an amazing sushi restaurant at the resort. There were so many restaurants to chose from but given their location they had to decide to try the sushi considering that this restaurant could literally get their fish right outside the dome. Super fresh, delicious, and Donavan actually got legitimate Japanese sushi chefs. Will had been spoiled on sushi and he took several photos so he could rub it in to his friends faces when he got back. After lunch, Will decided to go for a walk and explore the resort while Max and Diana spent some time together.

After getting changed he explored everything the resort had to offer and it was a lot. Various sports facilities from tennis courts, basketball, baseball, volleyball nets on the fake beach by the giant wave pool to smaller things like darts, billiards, and ping pong. He saw a high-tech game room/media center in the main building next to boutique stores that would be open for the primary opening along with other awesome restaurants and bars. There were hot tubs in more private or enclosed areas for relaxation, a full spa and relaxation center, 9 giant pools on top of the wave pool and a small waterpark with water slides. And like Donavan said an actual gelataria and other ice cream shops. Will got himself an old fashioned Root Beer float from the retro-styled ice cream shop and walked around when he got a call from Courtney.

"Hey, Court. Pleasure to hear from you. I take it you liked my text?" He wondered.

"I hate you. That's actually Beyonce in the photo and not some kind of superhero photoshop because if it is and you're just messing with me then you're dead when you get home." Courtney warned him.

"No, it's really her. No amount of superhero photoshop could fake the majesty that is Queen Beyonce. I think she likes me and I did get her to sign something for you." He promised.

"You are officially the best boyfriend in the world. Being a superhero didn't do it, this did. You are so going to be happy when you get home." Courtney promised him. "Maybe we should do what you suggested early this summer. We go camping and I get another chance to wear that bikini you like."

"Throw in your blue gymnastic leotard and I'll pay for everything." Will swore and heard her chuckle over the phone.

"You are such a perv, you know that?"

"Hey, I can't help it when my girlfriend is the hottest girl in the world." Will bragged.

"No, I guess not. So, how great is the resort? Is it as amazing as the other Gran Smith resorts?" Courtney wondered.

"And more. I mean, this place is like what you want at your dream vacation. Plenty of things to do and all of it is high end. 9 pools, 15 hot tubs, a mock beach set up with a wave pool, a water park, a full spa and every other kind of 5-star luxury you could want. I literally just had the best sushi I've ever had in my life from fish that was swimming literally half an hour ago and now I'm drinking the best Root Beer float I got from an old retro-style ice cream shop and I'm not done. I'm heading to get gelato next." He told her.

"That sounds amazing. The most I've done this summer is that trip to the Yellow Stone National Park that Pat set up. The lake house was nice but compared to what you're doing it's like nothing." Courtney pointed out and Will chuckled.

"Sorry, Court but Yellow Stone National Park isn't that bad. I had a fun time there. Granted I didn't really get to do much before the giant alien attack that threatened to wipe out all life on earth but it was fun after. Met a nice bear." He told her.

"So weird that we're talking about your superhero stuff like it's normal. You know, the city's still going a little nuts now that you announced yourself." Courtney informed him.

"Really?"

"Yeah. A whole bunch of people are happy that National City has it's own superhero but there are also those that think we don't need those problems. Honestly, the biggest noise has been coming from Catco." Courtney told him.

"What does Cat Grant want with me?" He wondered.

"She wants to talk to you. She's been trying to get your attention. Posting headlines saying she wants to meet and stuff like that. Are you?"

"Why would I meet with Cat Grant?"

"I don't know. Maybe to see what she wants. Get some publicity. Work out movie deal." She quipped.

"I get that your joking and I love the sarcasm but I'd rather not. The whole thing with the suit was to stay hidden and obscure so meeting with a media mogul would do the opposite of that. Besides…she scares me." He admitted.

"Yeah. Cat Grant scares everyone." Courtney agreed. "So, what are you gonna do?"

"Nothing." Will replied.

"Nothing? Really?"

"Yeah. It's not like she has a way to actually contact me. She can make requests and everything but that doesn't mean I have to actually answer it. I just go about my business as usual." He answered. "What's Cat Grant gonna do? Fake emergencies to see if I respond and ambush me when I do?"

"I wouldn't put it past her." Courtney warned him.

"Well, we'll see what happens. I'll bring you back a souvenir from the resort. Maybe one of the bathrobes. You should feel them. It's like they're made of clouds." Will said, walking up to resort dome so he could look out into the ocean.

"Definitely bring me one back and behave yourself there."

"I promise. I'll call you later tonight. Bye."

"Bye."

They hung up when Will saw something out of the corner in his eye out in the ocean. He could have sworn he saw a faint glow like he saw before when they arrived up on the dock but then just saw it was the glare from a light so he relaxed.

"Will!" He heard and saw Max and Diana walk over to him. His dad was in full vacation-dad mode complete with the tacky Hawaiian shirt and shorts while Diana was wearing a blue one piece swimsuit with a shawl over her shoulders and around her waist and large hat on her head. "Come on. They're starting a volleyball tournament. Maybe we can get onto a team with Tom Brady."

Will followed them over to the volleyball court, completely missing the faint blue glow he saw before come back in the distance.

Line Break xxxxx

The next day…

Peaceful, satisfied, well-rested and comfortable. That's how Will felt when he woke up the next morning in the giant queen-sized bed in his room. He had his own room in the suite he, his dad, and Diana were staying in and it was bigger then his room back home. The mattress was soft and enveloped him like a cloud with the blanket being the warmest and most comfortable you could want. He was spoiled. He took a look at his clock and saw it was around 10am so he slept in more than usual which was fine. He was on vacation.

[Yawn]

Will sat up and scratched his back before rubbing his eyes and moving his legs off his bed and onto the comfortable carpet below. He got up and cracked his back a bit before twisting his body around to stretch and wake up. After he stretched he then leaned forward and fell to the ground but caught himself and began doing pushups to start his morning routine/workout. He was on vacation but that didn't mean he wanted to let up so he got in some training in the morning at least. And it helped wake him up. After his pushups and squats he moved onto his sit-ups when he heard a faint beeping coming from the closet.

"No, don't tell me…" Will fell back onto the ground and groaned in annoyance. "Not my problem, I'm on vacation. Not my problem, I'm on vacation.

He repeated that to himself as he got up and went to the bathroom clean up and brush his teeth but when he got out the faint beeping was still there. "Dammit."

He opened the closet and pulled out his suitcase. It was empty since he put his clothes in the drawers next to the bed but it had a special compartment on the bottom which is where the beep was coming from. Will opened the compartment which was holding the Proto-box and his armor buckle. He activated the Proto-box and the reason it was beeping was because the sensor detected something. It picked up an abnormal energy source that it didn't register as any kind of known power sources on the planet like oil, gas, or nuclear. The Proto-box picked up an increase in the energy, nothing massive but a slight uptick and whatever the source it wasn't human and it was located in the resort. Not only that but it was picking up similar energy signatures outside of the resort out on the ocean floor. It wasn't able to get a clear enough scan given the depth and interference from the ocean but there was something out there.

"Well, this put a damper on my vacation. Ugh…" Will took the Proto-box and grabbed his armor buckle before he got changed and left to go find his dad.

Currently, Diana and Max were finishing up the complimentary breakfast buffet which was amazing. The two ate and had some mimosas to wash everything down, enjoying some time together as were all the other guests.

"I hope you've been enjoying yourself, Diana. I imagine that vacations on Themyscira must be a little different." Max said.

"They are. We don't any kind of these amenities on the Island. The island lagoons are much better then the pools you have here but the hot tub was extraordinary. That at the spa is something I believe many of the Amazons would enjoy." She admitted.

"Maybe on your next trip home you could bring some of these things back. I know Themyscira has a lot to catch up so what would you introduce to them first?" Max wondered, taking another sip of his mimosa.

"Ice cream. One of the first things I tried and I'm sure they would all enjoy it." Diana stated.

"Absolutely. The only people who don't like ice cream are the ones who can't eat it. Although getting it there and keeping it cold could be an issue without electricity or a giant freezer." He pointed out when he saw Will walk over to them. He was wearing his sneakers, cargo shorts and a blue T-shirt but he noticed he had his armor buckle on. "Will, what's wrong?"

"What's wrong? Work is getting in the way of my vacation. Fate is deliberately keeping me from enjoying myself and taking a break." Will put the Proto-box on the table and pushed it over to his dad so he could see. "It was going off this morning."

"What's wrong?" Diana wondered.

"The Proto-box is picking up a serious energy ready here at the resort. It picked up intensity last night and then again this morning." Max told her as he looked over the data. "The Proto-box doesn't recognize the energy signature and considering Will connected it to the DEO database along with Grey Matter's intellect to make this so the energy isn't native to earth."

"Maybe you were right to be worried about your friend making his resort in the middle of the Bermuda Triangle." Will pointed out.

"Yeah, but the DEO debunked all those rumors when it was first formed. Nothing abnormal from what we could tell." Max reminded him.

"Yeah, but something is going on here. And it's not just at the resort. It's picked up similar, smaller energy readies outside on the ocean floor. There's something out there." Will slumped down in the seat when he saw the half-eaten scone Max had on his plate so he grabbed it and took a bite. "Oh, this is good."

"So, what do we do?" Diana wondered.

"Well, we can't start a panic. We'd just make things worse and if we accidently cause an incident here then we risk doing serious damage to the dome and letting in tons of ocean water. I'll contact Director Henshaw and let him know we'll be investigating but I'll have him send a team here to help." Max told them and they both nodded. "If this energy source is here at the resort then Donavan has to know about it. It could be what's powering this hotel. I'll talk to him and convince him to give me a tour of the place and see if I can find it."

"Ok, then. While you do that, Diana and I can investigate the energy signatures outside the dome. We can take one of the rental submersibles out into the water and see what's going on." Will suggested when he saw his dad about to protest so he cut hit him. "Dad, I know it's dangerous but if we don't get on top of whatever is out there then a lot of other people could be in danger. Diana and I can handle it."

"We can, Max." Diana promised.

"All right but be careful, both of you." Max told them. "I'll let you know if I find something."

"Right." They all got up and split up but not before Will swiped the leftover bacon from his dad's plate.

Diana and Will went to take out one of the rental submersibles out into the ocean. One of the resort's biggest attraction was small submersibles that would take guests out into the ocean to explore. There were larger group sized ones but Will and Diana got a smaller two-person submersible. Once they were strapped in the submersible took them out and it was amazing to see everything outside of the dome. Everything was automated and they followed a predetermined path with the other submersibles that stayed fairly close to the resort so Will had to fix that. He activated his armor and had Jarvis connect to the system.

"Jarvis, how are we looking?" He asked.

"One moment…and done. I have control of the submersible's system and I've hijacked the tracking system. The resort will think that the submersible is still following the predetermined path." Jarvis informed him.

"Good work, Jarvis. Take us to the coordinates of those energy signatures." Will told him.

"Right away." Jarvis powered up the submersible's engines and piloted the vehicle away from the resort and through the ocean canyon. Will and Diana were in awe as they were seeing things that probably no one was able to see. Being this deep in the ocean was the stuff reserved for the members of the scientific community who worked in the ocean or for the insanely rich.

"Incredible. To think the wonders of man's world would be able to devise something that would allow them to explore the wonders of the Seven Seas." Diana remarked.

"If you think this is cool then we should get you on a space shuttle to see the International Space Station. Or the moon." Will suggested as he looked out but the visibility wasn't the best so he brought up his helmet to give him a better view and what he saw intrigued him. "Huh…"

"What is it?" Diana wondered.

"The Bermuda Triangle is pretty famous among conspiracy theorists and such. A lot of ships and planes have gone missing here over the years. The theories behind why are a bunch of crap but the actual missing vessels aren't. I'm seeing what look like the wreckage spots but no wreckage." Will pointed out when he saw one spot on the ground that had the wreckage of an old cargo ship but surprisingly only half like it was taken apart. "That one looks like it's been salvaged. Jarvis, scan."

"Scanning." Will's HUD enhanced the visual of his surrounding area through a high-spectrum resonance scan giving him greater visibility of the dark ocean water. He saw the wreckage of an old cargo ship from the 1960s and it looked like you'd expect a ship to look like after being under water for 50 years but there was only half a ship. It looked like it had been scrapped or salvaged by something. "Sir, I'm picking up thermal burns and drift marks in the sand below. Something had recently taken part of the ship away."

"So there definitely is something down here. Maybe my dad is able to figure out what we're dealing with." Will hoped.

With Max…

Max managed to meet with Donavan and told him he would like a tour of the place and a chance to talk like old times. Donavan was more than happy to take Max on a tour of the place and showed him the inner workings of his resort. He took him behind the scenes to show him the expansive engineering rooms that controlled the airflow, power, and kept the resort running. One of the engineers came over and handed Donavan a clipboard to show him some data before Donavan handed it back.

"A reverse power surged caused the small shacking yesterday but it's fixed now." Donavan told Max as he kept showing him around.

"It must take a lot of juice to keep this place lit up and running. That can't come from the mainland. We're too far off shore." Max pointed out.

"Very astute, Max. Volcanic vents on the ocean floor. We tap into them like a big steam generator." Donavan answered when they came to a room with four engineers working around one main section. It had various pipes and energy lines tapped into it and while the entire thing was sealed behind thick led and metal alloy plating Max was able to see a purple glow behind a display window.

"Hey, what's behind that panel?" Max wondered.

"Uh…nothing. It's just a backup generator. I always want to make sure that the resort has everything it needs should something happen. Now watch this." Donavan nodded to his engineers and they pressed a few buttons, switches, and levers which caused the generator to power up even more. Since they were in bowels of the resort they weren't able to see but everyone in the resort was as all the external lights in the resort turned on to full power. "I have enough energy to illuminate the outside so bright, it's visible 500 feet above sea level."

"That's impressive, Donavan." Max admitted.

"Well, you know me. Always the overachiever. Now, come on. Let's continue the tour." Donavan led him away. Max checked his pocket which had the Proto-box in it. It analyzed the energy pickup which was an exact match to the one it detected before so whatever was in Donavan's backup generator was the source of the weird energy signal. And it just lit up like a Christmas tree.

Back with Will…

Jarvis continued piloting the submersible to the coordinates of the energy signatures outside of the resort and along the way Will saw more and more salvaged sunken wrecks. There were parts taken from old airplanes and boats to bigger ships but it was the same. Something was clearly taking parts of whatever was available. They passed more and more fish but the deeper they went the more prehistoric they got. Eventually the signal led them down an huge sea cavern.

"Sir, my scans indicate the source of those energy signals appears to be originating from the bottom of the cavern below." Jarvis explained, taking them further down the cavern. He maxed out the flood lights on the front of the submersible to give Diana and Will a clear view of the cavern and that's when they saw a giant alien spaceship that likely crash landed in the Bermuda triangle years ago. You'd think that a ship that crash landed here in the ocean years about would be in bad shape but the truth is it looked completely fine. The reason for that was the army of alien drones working on restoring the ship using the salvaged parts from the wrecks of the Bermuda triangle. The drones were mechanical and looked like large squid. They had eight metal tentacles and an oblong body shape but were mechanical and made of some kind of advanced alien robotics. The drones were fixing the ship using their tentacles to put pieces of the ship together and then using their beaks which generated beams of hot plasma to melt them into place.

"Ok. Now, that's definitely weird." Diana admitted.

"Sir, I'm detecting that the ship is indeed alien in origin but it is operating on a backup power supply." Jarvis informed him.

"If this has the same energy signature as the one the Proto-box picked up at the resort then that must be the main power supply. We've got to get back and warn the resort before those things discover it's location." Will stated when all of a sudden a drone appeared in front of the submersible. "AH!"

"I think we may be too late!" Diana remarked as squid drones latched onto submersible from all around and began slamming their beaks into the vessel to breach it.

"Jarvis, get us out of here!" Will ordered and the submersible's engines powered up to full power and got them out of there fast. Some of the drones fell off from the sudden acceleration but then quickly followed. "Jarvis, connect me to my dad!"

"Will, what's wrong?"

"Dad, it's aliens. It's a giant alien ship and weird squid alien drones. I think Donavan took the ship's power source. You need to evacuate the entire resort. I think these things are ready to take back what belongs to them!" Will warned him.

"All right but this resort is massive. It's gonna take forever to get everyone out."

"I'm sending Diana back to help you. I can keep these things occupied here." Will replied as he saw the drones still latched onto the ship starting to break through part of the ship and some water was coming in. "If these things break through the dome then tons of ocean water is gonna break through. Dad, you and Diana need to get everyone out of the resort. Don't worry, some friends are on the way to help."

Will ended the communication line and activated his helmet as his armor sealed up around him. "What friends?" Diana asked.

"People you know, trust me." Will promised as he entered the pressurized exit hatch. "Jarvis, get Diana back to the resort as fast as you can."

"Will do, Sir."

"All right." Will pulled a lever and the exit hatch began filling up with water. "If this is an ocean threat then I know just the alien for the job."

He activated the Omnitrix and turned the dial before pushing it down. A flash of green light and his body began changing. He grew scales and his hands became webbed with sharp claws on his digits. He got bigger as gills appeared on his neck and an anglerfish light grew out of his head. His mouth got larger and grew a giant set of razor sharp teeth while his eyes turned grey. He kept his arms and legs but a sort of organic loincloth covered his waist. Ripjaws let out a roar before the exit hatch opened and he swam out. His fish legs were wrapped in the loincloth and turned into a large tail and he swam out with incredible speed. He swam around the ship and used his razor sharp claws to cut through the drones with ease. The last drone was on the front of the ship trying to break through the glass but Ripjaws got behind it and chomped into it with his giant mouth, easily breaking through the alien metal.

The submersible sped out of there back to the resort while more of those aquatic drones appeared from the cavern below and swam towards him so Ripjaws swam at them with incredible speed. The cut through two with his claws when a third wrapped its tentacles around his body and one of his arms. Ripjaws just cut himself free and then chomped onto the drone's body, tearing it in half. Two managed to grabbed onto him so Ripjaws swam down and barreled through an old Spanish ship before punching through the body of one and ripping its energy core out. He then chomped the second into pieces when he was grabbed from behind. The drone opened up its mouth so Ripjaws roared in response and ate the drone before slicing another one in half. More came in through the ship so Ripjaws swam away and led them on a chase when another group cut him off. They surrounded and tried to overwhelm him while Ripjaws just slashed and chomped through them one after another.

He ripped one in half and then spun it around by its tentacles and slammed the two pieces into other drones. Ripjaws may be limited in use on land but in the water he was a ferocious monster and Will was finally able to let him loose. More and more drones tried to stop him and more and more were turned into scrap. Another wave of drones appeared when suddenly four Great White Sharks swam past Rip Jaws and proceeded to chomp through the drones like they were attack dogs. That's when he saw Aquaman swim by and help. He was still shirtless and wearing jeans like before but the guy had a five-tipped trident which he used to spear through several drones. Seeing that Aquaman was here to help Ripjaws swam forward and continued to fight, slashing through drone after drone. That's when six managed to surround him and quickly wrapped their tentacles around his body, trapping his arms at his side. Ripjaws struggled against their grip so he just began spinning around in place, creating a small vortex in the water and soon enough the pressure became too much and one of the drones was tentacles was ripped clean off. That was enough to give Ripjaws the room and he chomped through the rest before slashing through the remaining drones with ease.

Soon enough they were all dealt with. Aquaman looked around to see they were alone before looking at the sharks and they all swam away. "Whoa…you can talk to sea animals." Ripjaws said.

"And what exactly are you supposed to be?" Aquaman asked.

"The name's Ripjaws…" He replied when the Omnitrix timed out and he transformed back into his armor. He floated in the water when Jarvis made an adjustment to the armor and activated the jetpack to keep him afloat. "Or Sentry depending on the time."

"You're a long way from National City. What are you doing here and what were those things?" Aquaman questioned.

"They're alien drones belonging to a mothership in a nearby cavern. I think they're after their power source which is at the nearby underwater resort." Sentry replied.

"I had noticed something messing with the wildlife nearby ever since they built that thing but aliens?" Aquaman said in disbelief.

"Guess they're the reason the Bermuda Triangle gets its reputation. The resort is filled with people. If they get through the dome then a lot of people are gonna die. I could use the help." Sentry said and Aquaman nodded. "Follow me."

Jarvis powered up the jetpack and the jet boots allowing Will to speed through the water while Aquaman swam alongside him at super speed. Back at the resort, Donavan had finished the tour and now the two friends were walking around the resort with Max trying to convince Donavan that they needed to evacuate the resort immediately but he wasn't exactly listening.

"Alien water robots? Come on, Max. What do you take me for?" Donavan felt the entire thing felt ridiculous.

"It's the truth, Donavan. Whatever that thing you have, it's the reason they're coming." Max told him.

"Really, because I don't see any aliens around here, do you?" Donavan remarked when Max saw something outside the dome.

"You want proof? It's right there!" Max pointed to the dome so Donavan turned and went wide-eyed. Everyone in the resort saw a literal horde of alien robots heading to the resort. The squid alien drones latched onto the side of the dome and began trying to punch through the dome. All the guests of the resort began to panic so Donavan rushed over to a nearby emergency terminal and activated the emergency evacuation.

"Max!" He heard and saw Diana rush over to him.

"Diana, you ok?" he asked and she nodded.

"This vacation isn't going well, is it?" She asked and he agreed before the two helped direct people to the exit. People began rushing to the elevator platforms that would take them back to the surface. But even with filling the platforms to the brink it would still take some time to get everyone up. The drones continued to punch through the dome when several of them were blasted by a green energy beam. That's when Max and Diana saw a green glowing figure outside the dome and it was Green Lantern. His glowing green aura was protecting him from the water and pressure as he used his ring to blast apart the drones on the domes. Some of them came after him so he created a giant net construct to scoop them up before making a giant missile battery system and fired a barrage. The drones were blown up but more came through the smoke which is when Sentry and Aquaman arrived. Aquaman speared several drones on his trident while Sentry made two swords and sliced through drone after drone. He made his way over to Lantern and the two seemed like they were talking before he and Aquaman swam away.

Green Lantern waited a few seconds before he made a giant protective dome around the resort which pushed all the drones away. Once the dome was up, the drones tried breaking through it as best they could so Lantern had to stay where he was and concentrate on his construct to keep the drones from getting through. "That's what he meant by friends." Max remarked when they heard a scream.

Some of the drones must have gotten through before the protective dome went up as they were chasing after some of the resort guests. One leapt into the air towards Max and Diana when it was speared from the back by a trident. Diana and Max saw Aquaman and Sentry arrive and were smashing through the drones. Aquaman grabbed one by the tentacle and began spinning around like he was throwing a ball and chain. Drone after drone was smashed before the tentacle was ripped clean off. One drone leapt on Aquaman from behind and tried to restrain him but he just ripped his arms free and grabbed it by the head before smashing it into the ground. Sentry tossed one of his swords to Aquaman and he began slicing through the drones with a clear showcase of training.

Sentry used his sword and activated his shield and began tearing through the drones that had made it through. He sliced one in half and used his shield to protect himself against a drone's peck before cutting its tentacles off and stabbing it in its core. He then threw his shield and it sliced through three drones before ricocheting back into his hand. He spun low and fired an explosive disk at a drone which blew up along with the two next to it when three leapt through the smoke towards him and Aquaman when the trident speared them from the side. They looked and saw it was Diana who threw it. Aquaman took his trident and handed Sentry his sword back which he retracted back into his armor. That's when Donavan rushed over.

"Most of the resort is evacuated." Donavan said when Aquaman raised his trident at him.

"This is your fault. You brought these things here." Aquaman told him.

"I don't know what you're talking about." Donavan replied.

"These things would have flooded your resort and killed you all if it wasn't for us. He's right. You shouldn't have messed with things you don't understand." Sentry backed up Aquaman.

"Donavan, what is it?" Max pleaded and Donavan finally caved.

"Ok. The underwater volcano thing didn't work. The resort was doomed. I was about to become a punch line to a bad joke. Then I found this other energy source on this weird craft way down below. It was like nothing I had ever seen before with all the energy I could need." Donavan explained.

"But now the things you stole it from want it back." Aquaman remarked.

"But we can't let them have it. I managed to hack into one of the drones to find out what was going on. If they get the energy source back to their ship they'll take off and come back with an army. Where's the power source?" Sentry asked.

"On the other end of the resort in the power room." Donavan answered.

"You three get out of here. We'll handle it." Sentry led Aquaman away to deal with the problem while Donavan, Max, and Diana rushed to the exit. Most if not all the guests had been evacuated so it was now just the workers that needed to leave. Donavan, Max, and Diana ran over to the elevator when a drone jumped down from the ceiling towards them. That's when Diana grabbed it by the tentacle and pulled it away, smashing it into the wall. Two more drones appeared but she grabbed one and punched through its core while taking the other and breaking it in half over her knee.

"Diana sure is something, Max." Donavan remarked.

"That she is." Max agreed as they got into the last platform and took it up.

"Max, where's your son?" Donavan asked in a panic.

"He texted me. He already made it out." Max answered, telling a lie since Will was with Aquaman dealing with the problem. They ran into a few more drones along the way but made it through the resort to the power generator. After some quick hacking into the terminal, he managed to open the generator holding the giant purple energy orb.

"So, what exactly is the plan with this thing? We can't leave it here and we can't give it back." Aquaman pointed out while Sentry's HUD began going through some calculations.

"Oh, I plan to give it back but not how they'll expect it. I'm gonna reverse its ion charge so it'll turn its outward power inward. Instead of producing energy, it'll build it up until it explodes with the force of a nuclear bomb. I'm gonna drop it down at the alien mothership and then boom." Sentry explained before getting to work. Thankfully, Jarvis was able to walk him through what he needed to do.

"And how exactly do you plan on doing that while fending off an army of those drones?" Aquaman wondered.

"I already got that planned." Sentry replied, looking down at the Omnitrix.

Outside the resort, Green Lantern was started to buckle from the strain of keeping out the army of drones away from the resort. None had broken through yet and the glass dome was still in one piece but the continuous pressure the drones were making on his construct was starting to get more intense. "Dammit, skull face. How much longer?" Lantern muttered.

[AHOOGA HORN!]

Lantern had no idea where that sound came from when a giant submarine came barreling through the shield. It was massive and came from the resort but looked alien and was a weird black and green color. 8 large rotary-barreled alien guns came out of the front of the submarine and began blasting through the horde of drones as it moved through the ocean at a speed that normal submarines couldn't achieve. It headed deep into the sea cavern and immediately all the drones stopped attacking Lantern's shield and followed the submarine.

Upgrade was piloting the now alien submarine while Aquaman was inside, holding onto the side so he didn't fall. "So, this is a normal day for you, isn't it?" Aquaman wondered.

"Pretty much. Hold on. We've got some sharp turns ahead." Upgrade replied as he navigated the submarine through some tight turns and narrow passages through the caverns that he had taken before when he was in the submersible.

The turns were indeed sharp and Aquaman held on when he tripped. "Dammit!"

"Sorry!" Upgrade replied, turning the periscope behind him so he could see the horde of drones following him. "But it's working."

Some of the drones closest to the submarine latched on when they were blasted off by Lantern. He had made an underwater jetpack to help him move through the water at that speed and came alongside the giant submarine when Upgrade's face appeared. "I take it this is part of your plan?!"

"It is. We're about to drop a nuke on the mothership." Upgrade told him. "Load the power source."

Aquaman moved through the submarine with the glowing energy core and put it into what was the torpedo tube. "Loaded!"

"Here we go. Get ready for a light show!" Upgrade passed over the part of the cavern that held the mothership. "Fire in the hole!"

A torpedo was launched out of the submarine down to the cavern below and it was holding the energy source. The submarine just sped by while the drones did a nosedive and followed it. "Let's get out of here! Hold on!" Upgrade maxed out the speed and headed to the surface. Lantern saw it was moving faster then him so he held on as it carried him away.

The drones surrounded the energy source when it began to sparkle and rumble before it glowed bright like a star and then exploded in a flash of white light. The destructive force of its shockwave destroyed all the drones and completely obliterated the mothership while also collapsing the cavern.

Everyone on the surface dock and pier was confused as to what was going on when they heard a loud rumble and saw something coming up from below. They neared the pier when suddenly the submarine broke through the surface of the water and floated there. The Omnitrix had timed out so Will came up out of the water in his armor behind the submarine so no one saw him. "Ah. All's well that ends well. Thanks again for the help Aqua—" He looked up and saw the Aquaman jump out of the submarine and into the water before swimming away at super speed. "Huh, guess he's not much of a conversationalist."

"No, he's not. You ok?" Lantern asked him as he floated down.

"I'm good, Lantern. Thanks for coming." Will said.

"Don't mention it. Now you owe me one." Lantern then flew away.

"Sure…sure…" Will ducked down underwater and deactivated his armor before coming out of the water at a different part of the pier so he could just slip in with no one noticing.

The DEO arrived soon after and already sent agents down to the resort to do some investigating. Max informed them on what happened and what Will told him had happened. The energy core detonated and took out all the aliens and their mothership. Director Henshaw acted as a Federal agent and informed everyone that they needed to do some investigating but soon enough they would be all allowed to leave. Max walked over to Donavan who just finished up with one of the DEO agents.

"Well, I'm out 2 billion dollars and possible lawsuits but things could have gone really bad today otherwise." Donavan pointed out.

"I'm just glad they didn't. Don't worry, I smoothed everything out with my boss." Max assured him.

"I always knew you were gonna do big things, Max. And you did. Thanks for coming. I'll never be able to repay you." Donavan held his hand out and Max shook it.

"Don't mention it. I'm sorry about your one of a kind resort, Donavan."

"Yeah, well, it just gives me more time to focus on my next one. It's going up on the moon." Donavan told him. "How would you feel about being my first guest?"

"No thanks." Max replied and the two chuckled. Max walked through the crowd of people on the pier, still confused as to what happened with some wondering when they'd be able to retrieve their items from the resort. He made his way to the end of the pier where he saw Will and Diana sitting on the ground with their feet dangling over the water. "Nice work today, Will. You ok?"

"This…was the worst vacation…ever." Will declared as Max sat down next to him.

"Yeah." Max agreed as they just sat down and waited until they'd be allowed to leave. Suffice to say that from this point on Will was going to expect all his vacations to end this badly.

End of Chapter 8

1). Imagine the tower from Supergirl's later seasons mixed with the Watchtower from Smallville.

2). Jason Momoa as Arthur Curry AKA the Aquaman

I hoped you guys liked the chapter. I changed it up a bit as I wanted to introduce Dr. Animo into the story and at the end I didn't want to rush the Viglax stuff at the end so I thought it'd be better if he got more time to shine in the next chapter. Sorry but I hoped you guys liked this. Will's met another friend who he'll probably see again. And we've got some development with his friends and how things will handled going forward.

Next Chapter, a last minute camping trip with his friends to get some semblance of a vacation doesn't end well. It puts will into the sights of a drone sent by an alien looking for the watch. Once it has its sights on Will, it marks the beginning of a long standing conflict. And his school year doesn't start that well either as something is wrong with the Omnitrix. More specifically, Ghost Freak. Until then! Stay safe out there.
