My weekend felt slow. Not because I didn't have anything to do, but because I really wanted to talk to Two-Bit. My parents wondered about him a lot over that time, but I seemed to ease their biggest fears about him, or at least told a little lie to calm them down.

I went through my normal morning routine. Brushed my teeth, got dressed, and took a banana, ate that, then my dad drove me to school.

"Did Randy know you went on this date?" My dad asked me. He seemed confused, and so did I. "He might get the wrong idea since you just told him you want to break up, but already went on a date."

"He knows," I lied. "I told him to make sure he was okay with it."

"Alright."

We arrived at the school, and Daddy dropped me off at the front. We waved bye and I headed inside as he drove off. I pushed open the big doors at the entrance. This school seemed really cool, and I always dreamt of just getting to explore every inch of it.

"Hey, Marcia!" I heard someone yell. Low and behold, Two-Bit was running towards me, and gave me a hug. I hugged back. "I missed ya'."

"I missed you, too," I told him.

"Mind if I walk you to class?" He questioned.

"Not at all," I responded as we began walking to my English class. People gave us glares. Lots of kids were still very into the greasers and soc thing even after all the kids who died. Some just decided to live normal lives. It's what I try to do, but not that easy when your best friend and queen of the social elites.

We made it to my class, and waved bye. We only waved because of Randy, who walked into the classroom, giving me and Two-Bit a I took my seat, he walked up to me and said, "Can I talk to you after class?"

"Why?" I questioned.

"We just need to."

I worried about what he had to talk to me about. Millions of scenarios ran through my head, and when that bell rang, I swore it almost scared the living daylights out of me. I tried to walk away, camouflaged with the group of students filing out of the small door, but Randy caught me, grabbed my arm and yanked me over. He yanked with force.

"I know you were going on a date with that Two-Bit guy," Randy said. He looked serious and upset. He had a glare that he only ever used when someone really pissed him off. He also smelled of cologne. I know he wasn't drinking, that scent would've been far gone.

"It wasn't a date. We were just hanging out," The night replayed in my mind, and sure, it probably did turn into a date, but how does he know this?

"So you broke up with me to 'hangout' with some other guy?" Randy asked. He crossed his arms and leaned against the wall. The bell for class rang. Dammit.

"No, I broke up with you because you're a horrible person. Bye," I told him, quickly, then began to walk away.

"Cherry saw you guys together so don't get all pissed about me knowing. You're gonna regret cheating on me," Randy yelled just loud enough for me to hear. Some kids who were walking down the hall shot us some glaces, showing us they were intrigued. I stopped in my tracks.

"Excuse me?"

"You heard me," He said, then walked away. The clacks of his shoes filled the silent hallway.

I could've taken a brick out of the wall and thrown it, I was so mad. I wanted to go confront Cherry, but I was already really late for class, so I walked quickly to the other side of the school.

I knew I cried, but I didn't acknowledge it. No one said anything until I saw Two-Bit again at lunch. He looked happy until I caught him looking at my eyes. I couldn't imagine how red they were.

I walked out of the backdoors of the school to the parking lot. I walked more towards the back, where Two-Bit was. He was with Ponyboy and two other kids I didn't know. They were laughing and the one with the denim vest kept smacking Ponyboy on the back of the head. I'm hoping it's playfully.

The other person was a girl with short blonde hair. She wore a light blue button up that was tied to be cropped, and a short black skirt. She had black heels and complimented the whole look with a red headband with a bow at the top. She kept clutching onto the one with the denim vest.

I walked up quietly, but my heels made me noticeable, and when I got close enough, everyone looked at me, and Two-Bit didn't hesitate in asking. "Hey, what happened?" He asked, reaching his arms out then pulling me into a hug. I wrapped my arms around him, and I let the rest of my tears fall.

"Nothing. Just a disagreement with my parents," I lied. I knew he didn't believe me, but he knew I wasn't up to talk about it, so we just stood there hugging each other. When I was done, he gave me a final squeeze then let me go. The blonde girl looked at me with sorrow. Boy, did she wear a lot of makeup.

"Wanna drink?" Two-Bit asked with a grin.

"I'm good," I giggled. He shrugged.

"Suit yourself," He joked, then took a drink of his beer. He also introduced me to his friend in the denim jacket, Steve Randle. He gave me a quick wave then went back to talking to Ponyboy, and smacking him on the shoulder. Two-Bit then also introduced me to Evie, Steve's girlfriend, who is such a sweetheart. She beamed when she was introduced. She pulled me into a quick hug and complimented my outfit hundreds of times.

I lost track of time and the bell rang. Steve, Evie, and Ponyboy got off of the car (it was Two-Bit's by the way), and headed back inside.

"Marcia," Two-Bit called when I started to walk away.

"Yeah?" I asked. He began walking up to me.

"Let me know if you need anything." He said and gave me a warm smile. I smiled back, and we hugged again. I also gave him a quick peck on the cheek. His face got hot fast and there was a strong shade of pink covering his face.

I ran back inside as he put his alcohol away in his car. I began to forget about Randy, but he wasn't completely gone. When I was sitting in my other classes, I got glares from some of Randy's friends, but it was only for a second, and I didn't know the names of any of them, so it didn't matter. At least, that's what I kept telling myself.

I got home and headed straight to my bedroom. I decided to work on my homework, just to get it finished. By the time I finished, it was around dinnertime, which mom called me down for.

Tonight, she had made spaghetti with meatballs, and a sauce for everything. She always made the best spaghetti sauce. She gave me my dish of food.

"Thank you, mom," I thanked.

"You're welcome, baby," She said, then gave my father the second plate, and herself the last plate. We sat and ate quietly until my mom spoke up.

"So, Marcia, how was school?" She asked. The same generic question every kid gets asked everyday by their parents.

"It was alright," I said. Mom didn't bother to have me elaborate, but daddy sure did.

"What do you mean, 'all right?'" He questioned. I just shrugged and kept eating. "Was it something with Randy?"

I stopped eating for a second to think about what to say. Truthfully, I wanted to tell them, but then again, it would turn into a never ending lecture over nothing. So I said no. Daddy could obviously tell I wasn't in the mood, so he stayed quiet.

After my awkward dinner, mom said we could go relax for a bit while she was working on dessert. She always surprised us with a dessert, so I never know what we're having. I just headed back to my room and switched on my radio. I grabbed a book I was reading off my vanity, then I laid on my bed and continued to read.

I had only gotten through about five pages before my mom started calling me from downstairs. I ran down and was hit with the smell of apples. She was holding the phone by the door and held it out to me, as far as the cord would allow.

"It's for you," Mom said.

"Who is it?" I asked.

"I don't know, some boy named Sodapop. Odd name… He said it's urgent." She told me.

Sodapop? I never met him, Two-Bit only told me about him. He was Steve's best friend. There were two options here: One, Two-Bit could be surprising me, and needed Sodapop, or two, he could be in big trouble.

"Hello?" I called into the phone.

"Is this Marcia?" He asked.

"This is she."

"Two-Bit got jumped," Sodapop said. It sounded like he was in a rush. I felt my heart stop. "It ain't pretty but he's askin' for you. He got cut up from some of the boys havin' blades."
