Neb: Trapped inside his head, Vibrant is now uncovering the traumatic experiences of his past. To do that he must go through his former lives with his three families. I do not own X Men Evolution.
Ricky's head turned to his third father Mr. Powers as they moved toward a jewelry store. "I'll take care of the alarm, you work on the lock." Young Ricky's hand moved towards the door nob as he grabbed it and vibrated it until it came loose. "Good work kid." Ricky grinned at his dad before they entered the building.
"It can't be over here," Vibrant spoke up. The red doe stayed behind him as he followed his younger self into the building. "I already hated the idea of family when I was Ricky Powers, let alone my dad's personal lock pick."
"It was no different then working for your second dad though," Peryton pointed out. He looked at her and then grinned.
"No it was much different," he corrected. "This guy I felt nothing towards, I tipped off a police officer in the block about what we were doing so he could catch that bastard at the act. My second dad... Father Chimera made me feel like I was a part of his family. He made me feel like I belonged somewhere." The area flashed as sirens were heard and Mr. Powers was taken away by the police. As the third dad tried to yell towards Ricky to run away, his eyes widened as the young boy smiled at him as he was put away in the police car. "Of course I was arrested and under a legal fight against my step mother for control of my life for another year, then I had my name changed into Ricky White and then I met a mean cheerleader, the X Men, and the Brotherhood."
"So you feel nothing towards Mr. Powers?"
"Not a thing."
"Very well," Peryton decided. "Lets go further back."
Ooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo
Ricky now found himself standing in front of the Whelan residence where a thirteen year old version of himself was running around with his little red headed brothers. "So boss, this laser here can wipe out any camera in North State Bank within six seconds, if it is turned off a second early the whole plan become a bust." A big man wearing a suit was selling equipment to the long white haired man Father Chimera, who sat back smoking a cigar.
"Excellent work Rodney," Father Chimera grinned. "I'm more worried about the freak around the street Jones however. Everything I tried to blast her with always backfired."
"Jones," Peryton repeated.
"She was a mutant that acted as a superhero," Vibrant explained. "Father Chimera adopted me to break into places he couldn't and to take down Jessica Jones. When I was incapable of both, he dumped me back into child services."
"Then you never saw him again?"
"No, he showed back up recently," Vibrant grinned. "I suppose he heard about my abilities evolving and wanted the power back." Vibrant turned his head to see the younger him get tackled by the twins as he laughed while wrestling his brothers. "This would have been the perfect home... then my foster dad had to ruin everything by recruiting me into his little gang." Vibrant started walking away from the house with Peryton towards his father's office building. Then time skipped forward towards his Father Chimera's office when young Ricky stood in shame in front of his father.
"You failed to defeat Jessica Jones?"
"She's too strong father."
"Don't talk to me that way," Father Chimera grunted as he walked up to his son. "I wanted you to become my number one guy and you dare come back with a look of shame." Ricky looked down and the man smiled at him. "Smile Ricky, you look pathetic when you don't." Ricky forced himself to smile as he looked back up at his father. "Good. I have no use for you anymore." Young Ricky's eyes widened after his father said that."
"Your getting rid of me," Ricky cried before getting smacked in the face by Father Chimera's snake cane. The kid fell back as he grabbed his face revealing a gushing wound. "Why would you do that?!"
"It's not that bad, let me have a look at it." The kid ran out of his father's office before he could grab him. "Ricky, come back. Ricky, I'm sorry."
"He hit you," Peryton responded.
"Gave me this scar, and then I was unfit to be a part of their family after that. My second mother fought in court to get me back after leaving him, but... failed. She didn't seem to legitimately care about me like her own twins and the Judge could see that. The only reason she fought to get me back was because my brother's were the only Whelan family members who cared." They appeared in a court room where Young Ricky sat separately from his mother.
"Ricky," the Judge spoke up. "Do you want to go back to the Whelan family?" Young Ricky stayed quite and kept his head down. "I thought not." The boy then surprised the Judge by lifting his head up with a warm smile.
"Get me as far away from this family as possible."
