Chapter 688: Club TRIC Relationships
Monday, March 13th, Afternoon
The next epoch of the Brian Scott story came on the screen. Brooke sat, looking at the big screen, and she sighed. There were new images of Brian in high school, with his cousins, Kay and Ellie, but there were also pictures of Brian with his baby sister LK and with both Trin and Gabi. Some of the images were with Brian with one of them or with both. Brooke shook her head.
"Brian was also coming into his own as a lead singer when high school ended. The two relationships that would make this phase of his life came to the forefront. He would start romantic relationships with two young women he met in high school," Felicia said in voice-over.
Trin appeared on the screen sitting with Manhattan in the background. "I remember meeting him in high school. Our moms were friends; we were the same age, so we got forced together. Gabi was in the same group," Trin said.
Rachel appeared on the screen. Rachel sighed, "By the time it happened, she was out of school and was an adult. At first, I thought she'd work for Brian and Kat, get it out of her system; when the relationship with Brian ran its course, she'd come home and go to college," she said.
The images appeared on the screen. They showed many pictures of Mental Lapse in the early years. Many were of the band on the stage. Several from backstage hung out, which showed Brian, Kat, Gabi, and several others from the band.
"During this time, the nights for Brian Scott were getting wilder, forming the foundation for his reputation for partying," Felicia said in a voice-over.
Haley appeared on the screen. "The cost of cleaning up after Brian was costing more than what they were making," Haley said.
"Even though Mental Lapse was off the road to try to get them under control, Brian kept rebelling," Felicia said in a voice-over.
"Instead of working a job, he ran off for a week on the Gulf Coast in a heavy rainstorm," Haley said.
Nathan returned to the screen. "I agreed with their decision," Nathan said.
Trin appeared on the screen. "The end of my senior year of high school. We were intimate at first, and I felt we could be a thing after we graduated. We built on this until he went on his first European Tour. Over that fall and winter, whenever Brian was in New York City, we would get together," Trin said.
Some of the images of Brian and Trin in New York City filled the screen. Once they were done, Trin returned to the screen.
"Brian being Brian at this time, rebelled, and talked me into running away with him to Gulf Shore, Alabama. I was out jogging and had nothing with me. I bought clothing from local shops, and we shared a beach house and a bed. That week he put a baby into me," Trin said.
Images appeared on the screen, mainly of Brian and Trin on the sugar sands of Gulf Shores, Alabama. There were other pictures of the two; it must have been in Brian's rented house. What Brooke saw was two nineteen years old enjoying the summer and the beach. As it seemed, they rarely changed out of their bathing suites.
Lucan, the first drummer of Mental Lapse, appeared on the screen. "Brian had this off-again, on-again relationship with Gabi for at least a year. That's at least what I thought that was what it was. Upon further reflection, Brian and Gabi had an open relationship," Lucas said.
The practice space of Mental Lapse appeared on the screen for the first time in the movie. The images showed the band practicing and working on songs; one of the last images was of Kat standing at the door to a room in their practice space. Brooke noted that they looked happy and were enjoying themselves for the most part. That, too, was another thing Brian ruined with his behavior.
Kat appeared on the screen. "Brian's behavior was getting tiring, and how he wanted to live in a harem with two women," Kat said.
Nathan was next on the screen.
"This was around the same time he found out he was going to be a father, correct?" Felicia asked.
"Yes, Brian moved out of my house and started to live in his rehearsal space; Gabi also stayed with him. Gabi was the first one to tell him she was pregnant; later, Trin would tell him. From what I understand, he suggests they live together and raise their children together," Nathan said.
Haley appeared on the screen. "The Gulf Coast trip, Brian took Trin with him. The net result was Trin came back pregnant. Brian moved into his rehearsal space, and Gabi joined him. Eventually, Gabi turns up pregnant," Haley said.
Rachel appeared on the screen, and she looked at the camera. Her mood was heavy with anxiety as she licked her lips. "She got pregnant with Lennon, and about the same time, Trin got pregnant with her son Wyatt," Rachel said.
Trin appeared on the screen, and she sighed. "I went into denial; eventually, I ran away to New York to think. I confronted Brian about being pregnant, and Gabi said she was pregnant too. Brian wanted me to come live with him and Gabi and raise our children together," Trin said.
The screen is filled with images of Trin and Gabi at various phases of pregnancy. Finally, Candi appeared on the screen.
"Did you hear what Brian offered?" Felicia asked.
"I heard a thing or two," Candi said.
"It was for Trin and Gabi to live with him as a harem, and they could raise the boys together," Felicia said.
"That's what I heard, " Candi said, "His two princesses."
"What did you think of Brian's belief in the Marriage of Heaven and Hell and Blake in general?" Felicia asked.
"I don't think he ever truly understood Blake," Candi said with a laugh.
The screen changed to show images of various happy times from that first touring season. There was even some concert footage from various concerts. Some footage was taken in England during a day slot at a music festival.
Mental Lapse is on the stage playing. It's a rare song where Brian comes to the edge of the stage. Kat was standing near Brian, playing bass. The two looked at each other and smiled.
Next, on the screen, pictures of Trin holding baby Wyatt in the hospital. The following image showed Gabi in the hospital holding Lennon. The image changed again to show Gabi holding a baby Lacy. One final image showed Gabi holding a baby, Darren.
On the screen, Candi sat looking at the camera. "All Trin wanted from Brian was him to be in Wyatt's life since Trin's dad was absent most of her life, so she didn't want the same for Wyatt," Candi said.
Brooke nodded; Felicia was fair.
