Chapter 697: Wilmington International Airport

Tuesday, March 14th, Morning

The limo pulled towards the outer border of Wilmington International Airport; the back was filled with people. Sitting with her back to the driver, Brooke Davis looked at the people, including the two sitting beside her. This collection of people meant something to her; she wanted to help them and give them a ride to the airport.

"Brooke, you didn't have to do this," Karen Hargrove said, leaning back against the bench seat of the limo.

"Karen, it's not a problem; Izzy and Fallon were using it as well," Brooke said.

"Let us pay you for it," Karen said.

"No, it's my treat," Brooke said.

"Izzy's paying," Angela Scott, Karen's daughter, who sat next to her, said.

"I have to pay for ethical reasons," Representative Isabella "Izzy" Scott, D-NC, said from her position next to her mom, Brooke.

Angela looked over to her stepdad, Andy Hargrove, who sat on the other side of Karen. Andy leaned forward and nodded. "Yes, Izzy's correct," Andy said.

Angela canted her head and shrugged. The petite woman on the other side of Brooke looked at Angela. "Angela, what are we going to do?" Fallon Stafford, Brooke's stepdaughter, asked.

"What do you mean?" Angela asked.

"You signed with Connecticut and won't be coming into the city," Fallon said.

"I played in Brooklyn, not Manhattan; it's not that glamorous," Angela said, "You also have Grant now."

"Hoes before bros," Fallon said and looked at Brooke with a laugh.

"I also have Jess as well," Angela said.

"You could bring Jess," Fallon said.

"How can I bring a ten-year-old to a wine bar?" Angela asked.

"I don't only own a wine bar," Fallon said.

"That's true; you only own half of Manhattan," Angela said.

"I don't," Fallon said.

"Really, Fallon?" Angela asked.

"It's a quarter," Fallon said.

Izzy leaned forward from across the limo. She looks at Angela, who sits across from her. "Did Ashlyn talk to you?" Izzy asked.

Angela nodded and turned toward Izzy. "Yeah, she did," she said.

"What do you think about her idea?" Izzy asked.

Angela shrugged, "It's a lot to think about, including moving back to Tree Hill earlier than I would've suspected," she said.

"What's this?" Karen asked.

"Ashlyn thinks that when Lucas retires, she'll get the nod to replace him. Ashlyn wants me to be her assistant but also wants Jess to play with the brunette squad," Angela said.

"Hey!" Izzy, Brooke, Karen, and Fallon said simultaneously.

"Well, they're all brunettes," Angela said.

"Don't hate us because we're beautiful," Brooke said, causing Fallon to laugh.

"From what I've been hearing, you're raising one hell of a swingman," Izzy said, "That's what Nathan says."

Angela shook her head. "If anything, she's a combo guard. She's of the mind to be a point guard," she said.

Izzy shrugged, "I'm the barbarian here; all I know is put the orange ball into the hoop," she said.

Fallon laughed, "I'm right there with you," she said.

"Angela Baby, for the first time in a long time, you're the only one with a lot of basketball knowledge," Andy said.

Angela held up her hands, "I surrender," she said with a laugh.

Izzy shrugged, "All I know is my daughter, the complete daddy's girl, is in love with the game," she said.

Angela nodded, "I thought she was into music," Angela said.

Izzy nodded, "As I said, Daddy's girl," she said.

"Does Grant know Fallon?" Brooke asked.

Fallon nodded, "Yes, I told him," she said.

"How did he take it?" Brooke asked.

"He understands, and he's still with me," Fallon said.

Brooke nodded, "I need to come visit you, Karen, Andy," she said.

"You're always welcome, Brooke," Karen said.

Brooke chuckled, "I'm going to wait until it warms up some more," she said.

Karen smiled, "Not everyone could take the winters," she said.

"I took sixteen years of the New York Winters," Brooke said.

Karen chuckled, "You're correct," she said.

Angela leaned forward, resting her elbows on her knees, and cupped her chin. "I can't wait to see Jess; it's been too long," Angela said.

"I miss her too," Karen said.

"I wonder how long it would take to pry her from Tricia's house?" Andy asked.

"I don't know," Karen said.

"Shouldn't be that hard," Angela sighed, "I have to go to work tomorrow," she said.

"You usually like to go in to train," Izzy said.

"Yeah, I'm going to meet with our new shooting guard," Angela said.

"I thought you were their new shooting guard," Fallon said.

"I am; the team traded for another guard from Chicago," Angela said.

"They didn't," Izzy said.

Angela nodded, "Yeah, they brought Kay in," she said.

"That could be interesting," Fallon said.

"We're coming to the terminal," Mina Vasquez said from the driver's seat.

"Thank you, Mina," Brooke said.

"You're welcome," Mina said.

The limo pulled to the departure gates. Mina got out and opened the limo door for the passengers to get out. Mina next went to the open trunk and started to unload the bags. The passengers said their goodbyes and went in three different directions. Izzy joined up with Skye Gregory, her assistant, and went to check-in. Fallon checked in and approached her gate and eventually the first-class lounge. Karen, Andy, and Angela went to find their flight.

Brooke got back into the limo. Mina made sure everything was closed and secure. Mina got behind the wheel and pulled out. They merged into traffic and headed back towards Tree Hill.
