An hour later, Agatha, Misty, Brock, Ash, and Serena were at the Cerulean Police Station, giving testimony to Officer Jenny. Of course, all but Agatha had chosen to remain anonymous, otherwise the paparazzi would have been there in an instant. Ash was sitting in the waiting room with Misty, while Brock, Agatha, and Serena were with the police in the back. Misty was squirming in her chair, and she refused to look Ash in the eyes, which perplexed him to no end. Eventually she gathered the courage to talk to him. Clearing her throat to get his attention, she said "Ash? Hey, look, I… I wanted to apologize for what happened last night. I never wanted-". The door swung open, and Officer Jenny walked out. "Pardon me. Sir, I'll take your testimony now." Ash shot an apologetic look to Misty, who scowled, before he stood up and walked into the back of the station with Officer Jenny. He followed her into one of the rooms on the left side of the hallway, amused to find that it was just like it was in the movies. There was a single light hanging low from the ceiling, inadequate in it's use. It just barely illuminated the small table in the middle of the room, at which two chairs rested on opposite sides. On one side was a glass panel; obviously two way glass. "Oh, my bad." Officer Jenny said, flicking a switch as she walked into the room. Immediately light flooded the room, which now appeared much more inviting. "Sorry about that. Now, I understand you would like to remain anonymous?" she asked as they sat down.
"Yes. As much as I would like to testify against these poachers, it cannot be discovered that I am here." he replied absentmindedly. What was that about with Misty? She hasn't been acting like herself since we reunited. "And why would that be?" Officer Jenny asked, raising an eyebrow. Crap. "It's okay, this isn't an interrogation. If you wish to remain anonymous we will leave your name out of our report. Now, can you tell me what happened?" Jenny said. Ash sighed in relief. He explained everything to her, starting with how he woke up and found the grotto, to the fight, leading up to now. "And have you ever seen these people before?" Officer Jenny asked, scribbling on her notepad. "I- I think I may have. But it was years ago, in the Kalos Region." Jenny stopped writing and looked up at Ash. "And which one is that?" she aked. "The one with the purple hair. If I remember correctly she was called Celosia. She was a scientist that worked for Team Flare" he responded. "Are you certain?" Jenny asked, shooting him a sharp look. Rubbing his neck, Ash shrugged. "It's been several years since I last saw her, so I can't say for sure, but I think so." he responded. Officer Jenny nodded, rising to her feet. "Thank you very much. If you'll please follow Officer Dalton, he'll escort you back to the waiting room." She said, gesturing out the door to the waiting officer. Ash rose to leave, then turned back to Officer Jenny. "Glad to help. Will that be all?" Officer Jenny shook her head, saying "A call came down from the Chief. Apparently Interpol is sending someone to investigate this incident further, and I'm sure they'd like to talk to you, as you were in the thick of it today. Whoever they send should arrive shortly.
Ash groaned. Great! Now I have to deal with Serena and Misty again! Ash followed the officer out the door back into the waiting room, where he was met with Brock, Misty, Serena, and Agatha. "So, Champion… I see you've returned." Agatha said, laughing. "Hello, Agatha. How have you been?" Ash responded. "I have been well, child. I would ask the same of you, but first" Drakloak popped into existence in front of Ash. "This one seems intent on traveling with you!" Ash gasped in surprise. "You see Drakloak came back with me so that it might grow strong enough to protect it's friends. It would seem that it believes that it could find strength with you."
Ash turned to Drakloak. "Are you sure? I plan on traveling the world. If you come with me you would have to say goodbye to Dreepy." Drakloak vanished, and a moment later a pokeball fell into Ash's lap. "It would appear she's certain." Agatha said, nodding. "Okay then." Ash said, holding out the pokeball in his hand. Drakloak reappeared, tapping the pokeball with with it's tail. It rocked three times, and then stars flew out from the center. "Well, now. That was quite touching." came a voice. Ash and company turned to find a middle aged man standing in the doorway to the police office. He had ash gray hair and wore a brown trenchcoat, and a cigarette hung lazily from his lips. A croagunk stood next to him. "Hello, Ash." Looker said. "It's been a long time."
