Chapter 753: Beaulieu Manor

Friday, March 24th, Morning

She ran out of Beaulieu Manor's East Range and climbed into the front seat of the Mercede Maybach SUV. Once the door closed, the SUV was off. The passenger looked over to the driver and nodded.

"Thanks for giving me a ride," Callie said, "I can't believe I missed the limo."

"Yeah, I'll talk to my sisters about this," Izzy said as she moved the SUV down the drive from Beaulieu.

"What is their story?" Callie asked.

"Keni and Sawyer?" Izzy asked.

"Yeah, them," Callie said.

"They were raised together, so in many ways, they act like twins," Izzy said.

"But you referred to them as your sisters," Callie said.

"They kind of are; Keni's my sister, and Sawyer is my sister-in-law," Izzy said.

"Oh, that makes so much more sense now," Callie said.

Izzy nodded, "So, how are you settling in?" she asked.

"I'm getting tired of people asking me that," Callie said.

Izzy nodded, "It's a big adjustment coming to live at Beaulieu," she said.

"It's a freak'n castle," Callie said.

Izzy laughed, "Yeah, my mom kind of went big," Izzy said.

"Went big? That's kind of an understatement," Callie said.

"Everyone has their thing," Izzy said.

"Yeah, I suppose," Callie said.

"I heard you're going out with Alix tomorrow," Izzy said.

"Who told you that?" Callie asked.

"Tucker," Izzy said.

"You and Tucker talk?" Callie asked.

"Of course, why wouldn't I talk to my brother? Considering we're close," Izzy said.

"Oh, well, I didn't know," Callie said.

"No worries, there are a lot of different names," Izzy said.

"So, your husband is Sawyer's brother?" Callie asked.

Izzy nodded, "Yeah, and Ellie's brother as well," she said.

"So, Mister Scott is your father-in-law?" Callie asked.

"Yes, he's also my godfather," Izzy said.

Callie nodded and looked out the window.

Izzy sighed, "So, did you enjoy shopping with Ellie?" she asked.

"She's tough," Callie said.

"Ellie has her moments," Izzy said.

"What's her story?" Callie asked.

"Ellie?" Izzy asked.

"Yes, Ellie," Callie said.

"She's well; I don't want to speak out of turn," Izzy said.

"What would be out of turn?" Callie asked.

"Ellie lives her life by her rules," Izzy said.

Callie nodded, "Why's that?" she asked.

"Just how she is," Izzy said.

Callie nodded, "I see," she said.

Izzy moved through the streets, and she yawned. "Yeah," she said.

"Tired?" Callie asked.

"Been a long few days," Izzy said.

"Why?" Callie asked.

"A lot going on, and being who I am leads to long nights. Plus, I had a red-eye flight last night," Izzy said.

"Oh, is it always like that?" Callie asked.

"Yes, and that's just the stuff they let me know," Izzy said.

"They let you know?" Callie asked.

"There are things governments do they don't want their people to know. There are even levels inside the government that do that as well. It all depends on where you sit in the pecking order, on how much you know," Izzy said, "They call it the need to know."

"So, the president knows the most?" Callie asked.

Izzy snickered, "Not hardly," she said.

"Then who does?" Callie asked.

"I think some guy named Jim in some basement in some federal building," Izzy said.

"What does Jim do?" Callie asked.

"Probably is the janitor for the building, as far as I know," Izzy said.

Callie chuckled as they pulled up to the drop-off point of the high school. Izzy parked the SUV and set it into park.

"Thanks for the ride," Callie said.

"You're welcome," Izzy said, "Hurry up so you don't end up being late."

"I won't," Callie said.

"Alight, make sure you catch the limo back," Izzy said.

"I will," Callie said, closing the door and heading towards the school. Callie paused at the school door and watched the SUV pull away. With a sigh, Callie entered the school and headed toward her locker.

Swapping out her books, Callie headed towards her first class. Callie paused and looked over the Commons. She thought about joining the Isle of Misfit Toys in the field house for a long moment. Shaking her head, she left the Commons. Passing through the hallway, she found her class.

Callie went into the room of her first class and found her seat. She pulled out her books and started to get ready for her first class of the day.
