Thank you, everyone, for sticking around! We get introduced to some new characters in this chapter that I am really excited about! I promise again that any answers you may have will be properly tied up! I am also trying to find a way to bring in some Legacies characters to help push the plot. I didn't watch the show past season one, so I am doing some research on how certain characters' arcs ended.

The Characters and whom I envision playing them:

Bonnie Bennett – Kat Graham

Caroline Forbes – Candice King

Damon Salvatore – Ian Somerhalder

Emily Bennett – Bianca Lawson

Chapter 3

The present-day year 2091:

"Incendia.. there! So much better!" Emeline exclaimed as she lit up all the candles in the dining hall.

"Emmy, where have you been hiding your party-planning party skills, this looks amaaazing" Lana admired.

Emeline stood in the middle of the dining hall admiring her work. This was the first Gala her family was hosting in their manor. Every three years since her mother Bonnie helped bring many covens and houses of prominent supernatural families and groups together back in 2060, the leaders meet up at one of the great houses for a get-together to discuss different threats, successes, and challenges that threaten their existence.

"I know right? The few galas my parents have allowed me to attend I have definitely seen what NOT to do" Emeline giggled.

"Wow cocky much?" Lana said sarcastically while giggling.

"But seriously Em, this is amazing! I've heard of the horror stories from when the Van Ripers kept hosting, I mean I get that their coven doesn't believe in daylight rings, so it has to be dark, but really? No heaters or central AC in their drafty ass castle?"

Emeline and Lana both giggled at remembering how many layers Emeline wore to those galas just to make a point in hopes that they would take the hint.

"I'm just glad I actually get to attend one of these, my dad was never into them, and my grandpa always thought I was too young to be around so many beings that could kill me" Lana stated while picking her nails.

"Says miss vampire hunter royalty, don't forget you can John Wick your way through a crisis with just a pencil" Emeline placed her arm around Lana's shoulder.

"Listen it's in the Gilbert genes, I can't take all the credit" Lana said smiling.

"Speaking of, how is your family doing after losing Elena and Damon? I'm sorry I didn't get to make it to the services, Dad thought it was best I stayed here, you know how the Salvatores and Donovans feel about too many supernaturals in one area."

"Yeah, no, I totally understand, uhm they're doing fine, my grandpa took it pretty hard but was mainly concerned with your mom, with her not looking a day over 25 she didn't want to make too big of a scene, so he made sure no one was asking her too many questions, the only people outside of Caroline and the Saltzman twins who remembered her were Aunt Stefanie and Uncle Dante"

"Huh.. you know, I actually need to talk to you about something that I've noticed about my.."

Before Emeline could get the rest of her sentence out, her dad interrupted them by coming up and patting his daughter on the back.

"WOW..I have not seen this ol' house this put together since the baby shower your Aunt Caroline threw for your mother" boasted Bastien.

"Well sorry to disappoint you but there aren't any live swans nor a compelled Olympic artistic swim team, I'm working on a post-college budget"

"Wait.. I thought those were flamingos" Bastien questioned while making an exaggerated confused face.

"Anyways, speaking of Caroline, she's letting me borrow one of her old dresses, nice to see you, Mr. Arch! And Em, Ash and I will be making use of your beauty room, Ciao!" Lana gave Emeline a quick hug and then patted Bastien's shoulder before walking out of the room.

Bastien and Emeline both chuckled and then continued to walk around the room to see everything that was being prepared and put up.

Meanwhile :

Bonnie looked around her large room and stopped to admire the flowers Bastien had placed on her vanity. She knew she had to finally get up to start getting ready for the big evening. She felt guilty knowing that she hadn't made any contributions to getting their manor ready to welcome everyone but could not shake the overwhelming grief she was feeling. After a few moments of reflecting on her current emotions, she finally placed one foot after the other on the floor and walked over to her master bathroom.

"Hmm.." Bonnie muttered to herself while admiring the long soft curls that framed her face. With a flick of her hand, the water turned on in her shower. She slowly stepped out of her satin green robe and let down the rest of her curls that sat upon her head. While standing in the shower and letting the water run over her svelte body, she was starting to recall a rush of different memories. The water reminded her of a memory from when she was on the Europe trip with Damon and Alaric. It was raining after yet another full day of babysitting Alaric and Damon getting belligerently drunk. Alaric had taken a taxi back to the hotel they were staying at, but Damon wanted to keep the night going and convinced Bonnie to go to just one more place with him.

"Of COURSE it's raining, this night just keeps getting better and better" Bonnie groaned as she stepped out of the taxi at yet another nightclub.

"You know Bon Bon, it would do you well to let go every once in a while, you can either go back to the hotel to hold Alaric's hair back OR you can break away from the nunnery for just one night," Damon said while waiting for Bonnie to walk towards the entrance of the club.

"Ugh, okay but I swear Damon this is the last stop, I really want us to be up in time to go to the Gemäldegalerie tomorrow" Bonnie crossed her arms and gave Damon a pleading face.

"Okay judgie, one hour, TOPS" Damon widened his eyes and grinned knowing that he was going to find a way to push the timeline.

Bonnie and Damon then walked inside after Damon compelled the bouncer to let them skip the line. Inside, music was blaring, and Bonnie suddenly felt conscious that she wasn't necessarily wearing an outfit that screamed nightclub. She had been wearing a short, sleeveless, tight, black dress with a mock neck with an oversized emerald, green sweater over it with black booties, and had her hair in two French braids. The girls in the club were fixated on Damon the moment he walked in and were whispering among each other about whether Bonnie was there with Damon as a friend or something more.

"All right witchy, I need you to catch up with me," Damon said as he handed Bonnie two double shots.

"I don't remember agreeing to this Damon," Bonnie said while eyeing the shots.

"Oh, come ON" Damon retorted.

Bonnie suddenly could not find a real reason to say no and realized that she was tired of being the responsible one when she should be partying in Europe like Damon and Alaric had been.

"Fuck it, Prost!" Bonnie took the shots while staring directly at Damon, Damon threw back his bourbon at the same time and smiled.

Both had been dancing with different groups of people after a few more shots and A LOT of bourbon. Hey Now by London Grammar the Arty Remix had come on with Bonnie yelling to Damon that she loved this song. She quickly pulled off her oversized sweater and threw it to Damon who placed it on a high-top table. As she was dancing, she couldn't help feeling that Damon's eyes were fixated on her.

"Hey now I can feel my instincts here for youuu" sang Bonnie with her eyes closed and her hands in the air.

Damon danced his way over to Bonnie intrigued by this side of her and suddenly felt the need to shield her from the different men and women that were admiring her and dancing with her. Damon grabbed Bonnie by the waist to bring her closer as they danced.

"You kind of look like a sexy Tomb Raider, did not know you had it in you" Damon wiggled his eyebrows which made Bonnie roll her eyes.

"Wow, that might be the first compliment you've given me since we started our trip"

Damon grabbed Bonnie's hand to spin her around, so her back was to him while they were dancing. Bonnie became very aware of how close they were while dancing but knew she'd rather have him close to her than feed on some random blonde. Damon brushed the left of her neck with his knuckles which sent a current of energy through her. They didn't say anything and just continued to dance closely with each other and then suddenly Bonnie thought that this was wrong and pulled away.

"I have to run to the bathroom; you know what they say about breaking the seal" Bonnie laughed nervously.

Damon shrugged and continued to dance with the people that were around them. After Bonnie went to use the bathroom, she went to find her sweater and tabbed out for Damon. Damon noticed Bonnie was back at the bar and walked over to her as she was signing his name on the receipt.

"Drinking, dancing, and fraud? Germany looks good on you Bon Bon" Damon joked.

"Damon we're leaving, I've already ordered a car to pick us up, they should be here at any moment"

Damon didn't bother to give any more smart remarks and realized that he was starting to get hungry for something other than Jager and Bourbon. He followed Bonnie out of the club and onto the sidewalk to wait for the car.

"Hey, let me hold that for you," Damon said to Bonnie as he grabbed her sweater to hold it over her hair so it wouldn't continue to get wet. They both stood outside in the rain close enough that it would normally make them both uncomfortable enough to make a joke or teasing remark about the situation. Damon looked at her with hungry eyes. In these moments, where it felt like the boundaries of friendship were being blurred, Bonnie would bring up Elena out of habit, but this was one of the first times Damon hadn't made a joke about Bonnie dying so Elena could be there instead, and Bonnie didn't want to break the moment of closeness and stillness.

"Did you know that in the rain you smell like fire mixed with sandalwood vanilla" Damon stated while still holding Bonnie's gaze.

Bonnie then started laughing to break the tension and looked over his shoulder and saw an apparition of Emily Bennett. Suddenly the car pulled up and the apparition went away. Bonnie was then the first to get into the car.

Bonnie didn't realize how long she got lost in the memory until the water started to get cold.

I don't remember seeing Emily Bennett that night, Bonnie thought to herself confused as she turned off the running water. She also realized that this was the first time she was remembering that memory and how she felt excited, aroused, and nervous that night in Berlin. She remembered getting drunk, having fun with Damon, and then feeling annoyed and ready to go, but she did not remember seeing Emily there and she did not remember feeling as if she wanted something more from Damon that night, which startled her.

"Bonnie Sheila Bennett you better get your perky ass out here and see what I picked out for you!"

Bonnie smiled and grabbed her bathrobe and ran out into her bedroom to greet her best friend.

"Caroline!" Bonnie yelled as she embraced her.

Bonnie knew to take a mental note of what she had recalled in the shower and that she would revisit it after the gala tonight.

SOOO yes, Lana Gilbert is Jeremey Gilbert's granddaughter! I am super excited about her character and Emeline's! I'm excited about these next few chapters!
