Chapter 12: Dark Miraculous
Hey everyone I'm back with a new chapter. I'm glad to see you all loved the surprises I put in the last chapter and let me tell you things are about to get interesting. As for many of you a few questions will be answered in this chapter. I hope you like what I have planned. Please Review and Enjoy.
At the Warrior's Spirit Martial Arts studio, Asteria was standing in front of a group of teens and kids.
"Alright warriors. Show me your fighting spirit!" Asteria said as they all did a series of punching drills. "Come on! Louder!"
"Hyaa!" The kids yelled.
"Stronger!" Asteria said.
"Hyaa!" They yelled.
In the waiting area, Sam and Marinette were sitting down watching with some bottles of water nearby and some ice packs on them.
"Wow she's good." Marinette said.
"You'd have to be to fight off those two villains from last night." Sam said cringed as they both took off their ice packs.
Popping their heads out, Faang and Tikki saw their masters were still bummed out over their first real loss.
"Some Ladybug and Silver Claw we turned out to be." Marinette said.
"If Asteria hadn't shown up they would have crushed us and taken our Miraculous and possibly worse." Sam said.
"Guys don't beat yourself up." Faang said.
"Faang we lost. End of story. We tried everything and they beat us." Sam said.
"Guys no one's perfect not even heroes." Faang said.
"You learn much more from failure than you do success. And while we never experienced much failure in our world you guys can learn from that here." Tikki said.
Just outside the studio, Diana, Kara, Barbara, Karen, Jessica and Zee were standing by the door.
"Are you sure this is the place?" Karen asks.
"That's what it says on the business card." Jessica said looking at it.
"Oh I hope darling's okay." Zee said worried.
"And Marinette?" Barbara adds.
"Oh yeah her too." Zee said less worried.
"Brace yourselves sisters who knows what we will find inside." Diana said as they walk in.
Marinette slowly looks to Sam. "What do you think?"
"Honestly…sure wish we had Cat Noir to say some funny puns to make us feel better." Sam said causing Marinette to giggle.
"Yeah me too. We got a lotta work to do if we want to beat them next time." Marinette said.
"Well then you and I better get started soon." Sam smiles.
Smiling Marinette and Sam hug briefly when they noticed their friends walk in and quickly separate.
"Where are they?" Karen asks.
"Hey guys." Looking over they saw Sam and Marinette waving at them causing them to smile.
"Sam! Marinette!" They said pulling them into a group hug.
"You're alive!" Zee smiles.
"We were so worried about you." Karen smiles.
"Thanks guys." Marinette said as they let go and Kara walks up to them.
"Uh listen I uh…I'm sorry." Kara apologizes surprising everyone.
"What?" Sam and Marinette said confused.
"You two were so right. Last night I tried smashing my way through everything and I got my butt handed to me if I didn't pause and think about the advice you two gave me it would have been bad. I'm not entirely sure how to control my emotions but I want you to know because of you two I'm gonna start trying." Kara said.
"Wow." Sam and Marinette said blown away by this.
They experienced tons of surprises yesterday but they never expected something like this.
"So what happened last night? When we saw you, this big strong lady was carrying your unconscious bodies on her shoulders." Jessica asks.
"Long story short Marinette and I got our butts kicked and we almost lost our Miraculous." Sam sighs.
"You guys?" Karen said surprised.
"But you guys are our the most experienced heroes out of all of us." Diana said.
"Yeah, if she didn't help us we'd be done for." Marinette said.
"She? Who is this she?" Zee asks.
"Oh yeah you guys are gonna freak." Marinette said when Asteria walks over.
"Hello there." Asteria said.
"Oh greetings madam do you ow—gaaah." Diana drops her mouth in shock seeing the amazon lady smile at them. "A-A-Are you?"
"Girls meet Asteria." Sam introduces shocking them.
"Wait the amazon who stayed behind to take on the world of man by herself?" Barbara gasps.
"Oh so you know me." Asteria said as Diana drops to her knees and bows multiple times
"Oh Mighty Asteria, heroine to the Amazons, our greatest savior I am honored beyond words to be in your presence." Diana said causing Asteria to giggle.
"It's a good thing you're doing this here where bowing is required or your friends might get a little embarrassed." Asteria smiles.
"Little late for that lady." Kara chuckles.
"I'll meet up with you right after I finish up the class. Be right back." Asteria said walking to the class.
"She was that green lady who saved you?" Jessica asks.
"Yep. Sorry guys. Guess we're not the tough all-powerful leaders we thought we were." Sam said.
"We must look totally lame having gotten our butts kicked." Marinette frowns.
"Meh compared to me you guys go off easy. Let me tell you I experienced Kryptonite last night and it was the worst thing in the world. So I guess we're all just works in progress." Kara shrugs.
After the class, the Miraculous Heroes took Asteria to Sweet Justice where Asteria was eating a banana split.
"Wow Asteria you really like Ice cream." Karen said.
"I may have acquired a bit of sweet tooth while living in the world of man." Asteria giggles.
"It is better than the finest ambrosia." Diana agrees before digging in.
"So Asteria I gotta know, how were you able to fight off the whole world all by yourself?" Jessica asks.
"Well I wouldn't say I did it all by myself." Asteria said as she opens her purse and Wayzz waves at them causing them to gasp.
"Oh my goodness another one." Barbara smiles.
"Greetings, I am Wayzz. It is a pleasure to meet you." Wayzz bows.
"Wow so you use one just like Sam and Marinette." Zee realized.
"Yes and lucky for us, Asteria wants to be our trainer." Sam said.
"Really?" Diana asks excitedly as Asteria nods causing Diana to cheer. "This is the greatest day of my life."
"Uh excuse me ladies can I help you?" Barry asks.
Looking to the front they saw three Amazon Warriors enter.
"Diana, I think it's for you." Karen said getting out of her seat so Diana can walk up.
"Sisters, what is the problem?" Diana asks worried.
"Diana, you and your allies are to be summoned home immediately. Your mother demands your presence." One said surprising her.
"My mother wants all of us?" Diana asks.
"Yes, especially them." One points to Sam and Marinette.
"Us?" Sam and Marinette said confused.
"Well this could be interesting." Asteria said.
The next day, all of them and Asteria were on an amazon ship heading to Themyscira.
"Wow I can't believe we're actually getting to see your home." Karen said.
"Brace yourselves my friends. Paradise Island is like no other place in the world." Diana said.
As Asteria and Wayzz sat nearby a few Amazons walked up to them with big smiles on their faces.
"Hi there." Asteria waves causing them to giggle and smile like fans before walking away.
"I see you've become popular since the last time we saw the Amazons." Wayzz said.
"Nice to know they remember me." Asteria said
Moving through the fog they see the beautiful island ahead.
"Wow, it's amazing." Tikki said.
"You lived here?" Marinette asks.
"My whole life. Sam you will be the first man to ever set foot on Themyscira. An honor in the highest." Diana said.
"Sounds awesome." Sam said as the boat docked.
As Diana walked off the Amazons bow to them as the other girls got off.
"I like this place. Feels good to be appreciated." Kara said.
"Welcome to my world." Zee said.
But when Sam and Faang stepped off he was met by multiple spears being aimed at him.
"Aaah!" Sam yelps as he found himself surrounded. "Uh Diana. Why is being honored feel like I'm about to die?"
"Shut your mouth you filthy man!" One said when Asteria walks off.
"Stand down warriors he's with me." Asteria said as they all looked at Asteria in awe.
"Wow thanks Asteria." Sam said.
"I think you better stick close to Diana while we're here. They won't touch you if you're with a fellow sister." Asteria warns.
"Wise idea." Diana said walking to him and immediately Sam grabs her arm and holds on tight.
"You are not leaving my side for even a second." Sam said.
"Uh okay." Diana said surprised by this but took Sam's hand as they walked ahead.
Needless to say, Zee and Marinette were not big fans of this.
"Hey Asteria look." Wayzz said as they looked to the arena and at the front they see a huge state of Asteria as Protector.
"Is that me?" Asteria asks.
"You are a legend among us Amazons, Asteria. A figure of which we hope to someday become oursleves." Diana said.
"Wow, you people really got my good side eh Wayzz?" Asteria asks.
"It is remarkable." Wayzz smiles.
"I wouldn't mind a statute of myself one day." Kara said as they kept walking.
As they did Sam looked around and saw literally every Amazon they passed by was giving him a death glare making him nervous.
In the main throne room, Hippolyta was sitting on it waiting for her guests when the door opens to reveal Asteria surprising her.
"It can't be." Hippolyta said surprised.
"Hilly, or should I say Queen Hippolyta." Asteria smiles approaching her.
"Customarily all Amazons must bow before addressing me." Hippolyta said standing up and walking to her. "But you're the exception." She smiles.
Smiling Asteria and Hippolyta hug.
"It's been too long old friend." Asteria said.
"It truly has." Hippolyta said as they separate. "I thought I would never see you again. Why didn't you return?"
"Well in your heroic escape you didn't exactly have time to draw me a map, but I was busy fighting off the whole world so let's just say we're both to blame for this." Asteria said causing Hippolyta to chuckle.
"Mother." Diana said walking in with Sam and her friends right behind them.
"Diana." Hippolyta smiles before noticing her holding hands with Sam. "Mind explaining why you are touching my daughter like that?"
"Because if he lets go an Amazon might try and kill him." Tikki said.
"Yeah you guys didn't exactly give him the warmest welcome." Faang said.
"And uh I don't blame him." Karen said as they looked to see the two guards up front glaring at them causing Karen to whimper and grab Diana's other hand.
"I see, well then come." Hippolyta gestures for them all to come closer. "I assume you're all wondering why I summoned you?"
"Yeah pretty much lady." Kara said.
"Kara. Show some respect." Jessica whispers.
"Whatev." Kara said.
"A dark power has resurfaced a power I thought was long since forgotten. The Dark Miraculous." Hippolyta declares shocking them.
"The Dark Miraculous?" Diana said.
"You mean like the ones Sam and Marinette use?" Zee asks.
"No, these Miraculous are very different. The Miraculouses have always been given to users who will use them with good intentions to help all mankind. The Dark Miraculous were created from a being hoping to use them to enslave and destroy mankind." Hippolyta said.
"Marinette and I had the misfortune of fighting two of them last night." Sam admits.
"Blood Hound and Queen Hornet. We would have been goners if Asteria and Wayzz hadn't shown up." Marinette said.
"They were the ones who beat you?" Diana gasps.
"Oh man and I thought I had it bad with Catwoman." Kara cringed.
"Those are 2 of the most powerful Dark Miraculous out there. The Dire wolf and the Hornet." Hippolyta said.
"Yeah we could tell." Marinette sighs.
"What kind of monster could create such a horrible thing from something used for good?" Diana asks.
"His name…was Darkseid." Hippolyta said as chills went down everyone's spines.
"Sounds scary." Karen shivers.
"He was. He used his dark and horrible powers to fashion 12 Miraculous of pure evil and used them to lead his army to destroy everything." Hippolyta said.
"I remember that battle." Wayzz said.
"It destroyed so much." Asteria said.
"So uhm I know I'm gonna regret this but what happened?" Zee asks.
"The previous Ladybug and Silver Claw happened. They assembled their forces using Miraculous they gathered from all over the Earth and assembled as many warriors to their side as they could to fight the battle ahead, including myself. It was a horrible battle with losses on both sides and it was then that I saw the final outcome of that battle." Hippolyta said.
Flashback:
We find ourselves on a barren battlefield with tons of craters and destroyed life all around.
Slowly walking through it, Ladybug and Silver Claw were walking through it.
Ladybug had the attire that resembled a ninja and Silver Claw had attired that resembled a warrior.
Slowly both warriors were putting on multiple Miraculous on their bodies as they looked to see Darkseid waiting for them.
"I've been waiting for this moment." Darkseid said.
"It's over Darkseid." Ladybug said.
"End this now before it's too late." Silver Claw orders.
"Heroes, always trying to appeal to my humanity. The only thing is I don't have any." Darkseid smirks.
Slowly Hippolyta climbs out of a crater to see the three of them stare each other down before they started walking to each other before they started to jog.
"He's not stopping." Silver Claw said.
"Neither are we." Ladybug said before they sprinted towards each other at full speed.
Leaping up Silver Claw swings his sword but Darkseid grabs him by the arm and punches him to the ground.
Charging in Ladybug delivers a kick to the face but Darkseid shakes it off and slams her to the ground.
Pulling his fist back, Darkseif throws a punch Ladybug throws dirt in his eyes causing him to wince before kicking him with both feet in the chest allowing her to jump free.
Wiping the dirt off his face, Darkseid sees Silver Claw punch him in the face knocking him to the ground.
"Why must you two fight it? Can't you see this is hopeless?" Darkseid asks.
"As long as I can breathe, I'll keep fighting." Silver Claw said.
"I refuse to let a monster like you win." Ladybug declares as all over their bodies the other Miraculous started to glow.
"So be it." Darkseid said charging in.
"Cataclysm!" As the Cat Miraculous glowed, dark energy surrounded Silver Claw's hand as he slams it to the ground causing it to break under Darkseid making him fall.
"Lighting Dragon!" Ladybug said as the Dragon Miraculous glowed allowing her to zap Darkseid with a bolt of lightning.
Flinging his arms Darkseid swats it away.
With glowing red eyes, Darkseid fires a beam at them forcing both heroes to leap back to dodge but the beams follow knocking both heroes to the ground.
Bending down Darkseid lifts an entire cliff and tosses it at them.
"Second Chance!" Silver Claw said using the Snake Miraculous to go back.
As Darkseid picks up the cliff again, Silver Claw throws his sword slashing his arm causing Darkseid to wince and drop it.
Using this opening Ladybug charges in.
"Venom!" Ladybug said as a stinger appeared in her hands.
Stabbing Darkseid in the chest Ladybug grins thinking she paralyzed him.
"That tickled." Darkseid declares causing her eyes to widen.
Firing a close-range beam it blasts Ladybug knocking her to the ground.
"Ladybug!" Silver Claw gasps.
Swinging his sword, Darkseid blocks it before punching Silver Claw back to back.
Grabbing Silver Claw's face with both hands, Darkseid brings it down allowing him to knee Silver Claw in the face knocking him to the ground.
As blood drips down his face, Silver Claw struggles to get up as Darkseid walked towards him.
"Mirage." Ladybug pants as the Fox Miraculous glowed and she made a cloud of mist around Darkseid.
"Pathetic." With glowing eyes Darkseid evaporates the mist and blasts Ladybug knocking her to the ground.
Tumbling Ladybug pulls out a katana and takes a stance.
Dodging Darkseid's attacks she delivers multiple slashes causing him to cringe in pain before he knocks her away.
As Silver Claw is slow to get up, he sees from the clouds the full moon up in the air.
Panting he growls as his Miraculous glowed bright sending the energy to his sword.
Darkseid was about to move in when Silver Claw leaps in and grabs him by the neck.
"This is getting annoying." Darkseid said throwing Silver Claw to the ground.
Moving in Darkseid punches Silver Claw to the ground.
Glaring at him Silver Claw grips his sword and just as Darkseid attacks he swings with all his might and cleaves Darkseid's right arm from his body causing him to scream in agonizing pain.
Determined Ladybug ties her katana to her yoyo and throws it with all her might slashing Darkseid across his right eye causing him to bleed out.
Panting the two heroes look to see Darkseid slowly getting up.
"Ladybug…it's been a privilege fighting alongside you for so long." Silver Claw said.
"Thank you…for being by my side through it all." Ladybug said as both of them take a deep breath and suddenly their Miraculous and all the other Miraculous glowed bright.
"ULTIMATE UNIFY!" Ladybug and Silver Claw roar as both shined red and silver.
"I've had enough of you!" Darkseid roars swinging his good arm when Ladybug and Silver Claw grab him from the front and back. "Let go of me!"
"This is the end of you!" Silver Claw said.
"You will never hurt another living thing ever again!" Ladybug yells as both glowed brighter and brighter.
"You fools! Don't you know you're dooming yourselves?! You're too weak you'll never survive this!" Darkseid roars trying to break free but the two heroes weren't budging.
"Neither will you." Both said both heroes released a powerful blast creating a giant and powerful explosion and a cloud of smoke.
"Ladybug! Silver Claw!" Running in Hippolyta looks to see all the other Miraculous were scattered on the ground.
When the smoke cleared, Hippolyta looks to see there was no sign of Darkseid but there was no sign of Ladybug or Silver Claw either.
Frowning Hippolyta got down on one knee and took off her helmet as a sign of respect.
Little did she know Protector was on the cliffs overlooking the battle with many Parademon's dead at her feet.
Slowly she took a knee in respect for the fallen wielders.
Flashback End:
"And from their sacrifice the world was saved and the Ladybug and the Wolf Miraculous were lost forever. That is until you two showed up." Hippolyta said as Sam, Marinette, Tikki and Faang looked in awe.
Walking to the back, Hippolyta opens a case and walks back with the Miracle Box.
"I've guarded this with my life ever since that day." Hippolyta said putting it down.
"A Miracle Box." Tikki and Faang said in awe.
Pressing the top, it opens and everyone sees tons of different Miraculous pop out: rings, necklaces, bracelets, etc.
"So many Miraculous." Zee said amazed.
"Inside this Miracle Box are Miraculous from all corners of the world which if used right can defeat the Dark Miraculous and any other types of evil you may encounter." Hippolyta explains.
"Wow, this is incredible." Sam said.
"Look at all of them." Marinette said in awe.
"Ooh is there a bat Miraculous in there?" Barbara asks.
"Mother this is truly amazing." Diana said.
"Thanks lady." Kara said reaching out to grab it when suddenly her hand was smacked away. "Hey!"
"What makes you think I'm giving you all of these?" Hippolyta asks.
"Uh…because you just told us the dangers were about to face." Karen asks.
"No, I told you this because I want you to know that you are not ready for this." Hippolyta said.
"Not ready?" They all said surprised.
"Hippolyta, they need this." Asteria said.
"They only fought two of the Dark Miraculous wielders and they were defeated easily. The previous Ladybug and Silver Claw were mighty and powerful warriors were willing to carry the fate of the world on their shoulders. They are inexperienced and lack the proper knowledge to use the Miraculous to their fullest abilities." Hippolyta said.
"But we can get better." Sam said.
"We can learn." Marinette said.
"From who?" Hippolyta asks.
"From me." Asteria said stepping in. "I will train them. I will train Sam and Marinette in all things Miraculous. I have the book and the experience to teach them everything they need to know and help them and their friends get stronger."
"Please, please give us a chance to prove we can handle this." Sam begs.
"We won't mess this up." Marinette said.
"Please mother." Diana begs.
"Asteria, what say you?" Hippolyta asks.
"Yes, they are young and inexperienced but they all have great potential to be better. I believe Sam and Marinette can do this." Asteria assures.
"You gave Diana a chance to be a hero let Marinette and Sam have the same chance as well." Wayzz said.
Pausing Hippolyta looks at her daughter and all her friends before coming to a decision.
"Very well, I will give you a chance to prove you are worthy of owning this box." Hippolyta said causing them all to smile.
"Yes! We get the box!" Barbara smiles reaching for it but Hippolyta yanks it back.
"Not yet you don't. I said you have to prove it to me. All of you." Hippolyta points to them. "Tomorrow all of you will compete in a series of challenges and if you pass I will give you the box and all the Miraculous that are inside it."
"And uhm what happens if we lose?" Karen asks.
"If even one of you fails a challenge then you two must hand back your Miraculous and step down for us to find heroes who are worthy of them." Hippolyta declares as Sam and Marinette pause in horror.
"Even if one of us losses? But that's not fair." Jessica said.
"You can't do this to them lady." Kara said.
"You think the enemy is gonna play fair? They will come after you and take you out one by one. If even one of you isn't strong enough to face the challenges ahead then how can I expect the rest of you to face them?" Hippolyta asks.
Cringing everyone knew deep down she was right. They knew there was only one way to stand up to the Dark Miraculous wielders.
In order to save the world Sam and Marinette must put their future as Ladybug and Silver Claw on the line.
