Chapter 13: Trials for the Box
Hey everyone I'm back with a new chapter. I'm glad so many of you were blown away by my last chapter and I want to give a shoutout to masters123lfm for giving me some ideas for the trials. I hope you like what I have planned. Please Review and Enjoy.
It was nighttime on Themyscria as the Amazons had a gathering and feast for everyone.
Sitting down at a table, Marinette, Diana, Barbara, Jess, Karen, Kara and Zee were eating some of the food they had set up.
"Well look on the bright side. At least they're being nice to us before our tests tomorrow." Jess said trying to lighten things up.
"Yeah right before they do who knows what to us and try and take Tikki and Faang from Sam and Marinette." Kara said taking a big bite out of a turkey leg.
"The amazons do not believe in sabotage, they pride themselves on honorable and fair fights." Diana said as they looked to see many Amazons with Asteria and Wayzz.
"Boy Asteria is quite the celebrity here." Zee said.
"Hey anyone seen Sam?" Karen asks looking around.
"Oh they wouldn't him come he had to sit outside." Diana cringed.
"Wait what?" Marinette asks in shock.
"They're making him eat outside like an animal?" Zee said.
"Not cool." Barbara said.
"No offense Diana but you Amazons are kind of bullies." Tikki said.
"And I know bullies." Kara said.
"No kidding." Babs muttered.
"What was that?" Kara glares.
"Uh nothing." Babs quickly recovered.
"So Diana any idea what these trials is your mom is gonna choose for us?" Zee asks.
"No, all my mother said is that she's made these challenges with each of us in mind to truly test us." Diana explains.
"Great so we have literally no idea what they're gonna make us do." Kara groans.
"I'll be right back." Diana said standing up to fill a plate.
"Where you going?" Tikki asks.
"Figured Sam might want a little more to eat. Since he's not exactly allowed to come over here." Diana said.
"I'm sure he'd appreciate it." Marinette said.
Just outside the feast, Sam was sitting against the wall with Faang next to him.
"Paradise Island my ass. This place is a nightmare for men." Sam said looking to his plate to see he had a cup of water, a piece of bread and some fruit.
"No arguments there." Faang said.
As he was about to eat his food, he hears a neighing followed by the flapping of wings.
"What in the?" Getting up Sam turns the corner to see half a dozen Pegasi and even a little baby one in a small meadow. "Whoa a Pegasus."
"Sam be careful we don't want to get in trouble." Faang said.
"I'm not gonna hurt it. I just want a closer look." Sam said as Diana walks out to see him walking away.
"Where is he going?" Diana asks interested.
Following behind him, she sees Sam grab some apples from the nearby trees before approaching the meadow.
Slowly stepping in some fireflies flew around him causing him to chuckle before he stood across from the winged horses.
"Hey there." Sam said calls out.
He was about to take another step forward when the Pegasi neigh at him seeing he was a stranger.
"Hey it's okay, I'm not gonna hurt you." Sam said stepping back. "Look I just thought you guys might want a snack."
Reaching down Sam held out the apples but the Pegasi were not sure.
"To be honest, I'm not feeling very welcome here with the Amazons. Since the people here don't seem to like me I thought maybe I could try my luck with the animals here." Sam said.
Bending down onto one knee, Sam slowly rolls the apple out to one but it just examined it.
"Don't worry, it's not poison. See." Grabbing one Sam takes a bite out of it to prove his point.
Hiding behind a tree, Diana was watching Sam with interest.
Slowly bending down the Pegasus ate the apple causing Sam to smile for the first time since he got on the island.
"Anyone want one?" Sam asks holding up the others.
Amazed Diana watched as Sam rolled an apple to each Pegasi and after they ate they all neighed happily as some walked closer.
"Well aren't you guys friendly." Sam smiles.
"Friendly than the amazons that's for sure." Faang chuckles when they heard a small neigh.
Coming out from behind his mother, Sam saw a small foal Pegasus.
"Hey little fella. I got one just for you." Sam smiles holding an apple out. "Don't be shy."
Slowly the little foal walked up to him and took the apple right out of his hand.
"Well aren't you a little brave one." Sam said as the foal ate the apple before neighing happily and nuzzling him. "Oh hey wow, yeah you're welcome." Sam laughs.
Seeing this all the Pegasi slowly walk up to him.
Coming out from hiding Diana watched as Sam smiled and laughed as the Pegasi thanked him for the treats.
As the foal happily nuzzled him Sam petting his mane. "Thanks little guy, if you weren't so brave they wouldn't even come to me. You know how about I give you a little name? It'll be our little secret." Sam offers as the foal looks at him interested. "How about Jason like the Greek hero?" Smiling the foal licks his face causing him to cringe in disgust. "I'll take that as a yes."
Not being able to resist Diana covers her mouth to silence her giggling.
'I've never seen this side of Sam before. So sweet, fun and gentle.' Diana smiles as Sam turns in her direction as the moonlight shined down on him Diana felt her heart start to race and a blush appears on her face.
Stuttering nervously Diana turns to walk away but ends up tripping and falling before picking herself up and walking away.
Back outside the feast, Diana picks up the plate she brought over.
"Diana?" Yelping Diana turns around to see Sam walking over. "What are you doing out here?"
"Oh I uh thought you and Faang might want a little more food." Diana offers holding out the plate.
"Thank you, those amazons were generous with my portion sizes." Sam smiles taking the plate. "Thanks Diana, I'm glad there's at least one Amazon who likes me."
"Yes well uh…we better eat up." Diana said when the door opens revealing the rest of the Miraculous heroes with their food.
"This group got room for more?" Marinette asks.
"Girls?" Sam said surprised.
"What are you doing here?" Faang asks.
"If you have to eat out here, so do we." Marinette said.
"We're a team and that means we have to stick together." Jessica said as they all sat down around each other.
"Thanks you guys." Sam smiles as they enjoyed their dinner together.
From the corner, Asteria and Wayzz were watching them with smiles on their faces.
The next day, the Miraculous Heroes were standing in front of Hippolyta in their hero attire as Asteria watched from nearby.
"Are you ready?" Hippolyta asks as they all nod. "Since you know we set the trials up I will tell you now two events will require two heroes to compete as teams."
"That doesn't sound so bad." Supergirl said.
"I hope I'm in one of those." Bumblebee said.
"You're not. But I will let you all choose who goes first." Hippolyta said.
Pausing all of them look at each other before taking a deep breath.
"We've decided Bumblebee will start us off." Wonder Woman said as Bumblebee stepped forward.
"Then the trial of courage shall be the first." Hippolyta said.
"Hey they only had one day to prep, how bad can it be?" Green Lantern asks.
Soon all of them cringed in horror to see a sleeping hydra in front of Bumblebee.
"You know what I'm just gonna stop talking for the rest of the trials." Green Lantern gulps.
"Good call." Supergirl said.
"So…what does she have to do?" Silver Claw asks.
"Your ally Bumblebee must approach the sleeping monster and remove one of the scales from its head without waking it." Hippolyta said pointing to some scales on its head.
"And what if I wake it up?" Bumblebee whimpers.
"Don't." Asteria said causing Bumblebee to gulp in fear.
"Hey, Karen." Bending down Ladybug looks her in the eyes. "You can do this."
"But I'm scared." Bumblebee said.
"So were you when you took on Giganta for the first time and you beat her then." Ladybug said.
"And when you helped us beat Lena." Silver Claw adds.
"Yeah…yeah I did." Bumblebee realized.
"You can do it. We know you can because you've done it before." Ladybug smiles.
Taking a deep breath Bumblebee slowly walked towards the sleeping Hydra.
Gulping all of them watched as Bumblebee shrunk down and flew towards the Hydra.
Landing nearby Bumblebee slowly neared its head scales but as it took a deep breath it almost sucked Bumblebee in before breathing causing her to fly back.
Fixing herself Bumblebee had a scared look before remembering what Ladybug said.
"I can do it. I can do it." Bumblebee whispers to herself before flying to the top of its head.
Looking around for a loose scale she found one right between its eyes.
'Uh maybe we don't need that box so badly.' Bumblebee said stepping back but when she did she slipped on some scales and falls on her butt.
"Ow." Getting up she looks to see her friends nervously watching, all but Ladybug and Silver Claw who had confident looks on their faces. They believe in her and always helped her, now it was her turn to help them.
"Alright, give me that scale." Flying up Bumblebee flies onto the Hyrda's face before readying a little chainsaw as she started cutting the Hydra started to turn in its sleep forcing Bumblebee to hold on tight.
"Come on Karen." Her friends hoped.
"Okay, it's just like ripping off a band-aid." Bumblebee gulps before grabbing the scale.
Yanking with all her might she pulls it off before flinching seeing the hydra didn't wake up.
Breathing in relief Bumblebee flies back and returns to normal size.
"I got it." Bumblebee smiles causing them to cheer when the Hydra let out a loud roar as a snore.
"Yaay." All of them cheered silently.
The next trial was Supergirl's, we find ourselves in a long corridor that was lined with amazons holding bows and arrows.
"So what do I have to do for this one?" Supergirl asks as Hippolyta places two large Greek urns that were filled 3/4ths of the way with water.
"This is the trial of control. You must carry these urns to the end of this corridor and without breaking them or spilling a drop of water." Hippolyta said.
"That doesn't sound so hard." Supergirl said.
"While my amazons will try and break them." Hippolyta said as the Amazons readied their weapons.
"Oh no, Supergirl is like a bull in a china shop. If she doesn't spill them, she's gonna break them." Batgirl panics.
"Uh I can hear you." Supergirl growls.
"Supergirl please, don't charge into this one." Zatanna begs.
As Ladybug and Silver Claw walk up to her Supergirl bends down to pick up the urns.
"Supergirl did you mean what you said at the dojo about wanting to be more in control?" Ladybug asks.
"I did, this is just like you said. I can't muscle my way through this one." Supergirl said.
"You can do it Supergirl." Silver Claw said patting her on the shoulder before they all stepped back to watch.
"Ready…begin!" Hippolyta said as Supergirl started carrying the urns towards the other side.
Loading an arrow, an amazon fires at her causing Supergirl to sidestep dodging it.
"Whoa! Watch it! You're supposed to hit the urns not me!" Supergirl said.
"Supergirl keep your stance loose. It helps you move quicker." Asteria said.
Dodging and spinning around Supergirl tried to get closer but one fired an arrow in front of her feet causing Supergirl to stumble back and almost spill her water.
"Whoa there." Supergirl said stopping it from spilling. She was about to continue when more arrows came in.
Yelping Supergirl had to move fast to avoid fire before pulling back as water almost spilled out.
Moving to behind a pillar, Supergirl catches her breath.
"Okay, there's gotta be a way I can get to that other side." Supergirl pants.
Peeking her head out Supergirl saw all the amazons lined up and her eyes widen.
"Duh." Supergirl facepalms. "Why didn't I just do that earlier?"
Making her way back out, Supergirl starts moving towards them again.
"Come on ladies, hit me with your best shot!" Supergirl taunts.
As one tries to fire at her, Supergirl used her heat vision to destroy the arrow and the bow.
"Ha! Yes! You guys can't stop me without your bows!" Supergirl laughs making her way closer to the end.
"Would you look at that." Silver Claw said impressed.
"She's taking out the bows so the amazons can't stop her from clearing the trial." Ladybug smiles.
"Now that's strategy." Wonder Woman smiles.
"Wow, she's actually using her brains." Batgirl said.
Firing her heat vision Supergirl stops every arrow that came her way before placing the urns in front of Hippolyta.
"2 urns of water, not a single drop spilled." Supergirl smiles proudly.
"Very impressive." Hippolyta said.
"Yes 2 down!" Green Lantern cheers.
"Bring on the next one!" Batgirl said as Supergirl walks over.
"Hey guys turns out actually having a strategy helps. Who knew?" Supergirl chuckles.
"Uh everyone." Green Lantern smirks.
"The next challenge is the test of strategy and guidance. Diana you're turn." Hippolyta said looking at her daughter.
The next challenge had Diana facing off against the Master Strategist in a game of chess.
"I can't believe Karen has to steal a scale, I have to dodge arrows but Diana gets off with a simple game of chess. Why does she get the easy one?" Supergirl asks.
"It may not be a physical challenge but make no mistake this is a struggle for her." Asteria said.
"If anything she has it harder." Wayzz said.
"But what does Chess have to do with strategy and guidance?" Bumblebee asks.
"Strategy on the gameboard is no different than strategy on the battlefield. Right now Diana's pieces represent all of you. She has to make sure she can help you achieve victory." Asteria explains.
"I get it, Hippolyta spent over 300 years training Diana to be a warrior. She's already at her peak physically." Ladybug realized.
"So that means she decided to go with a mental challenge instead." Silver Claw said.
At the game, Wonder Woman moved her knight taking her opponent's rook but she countered by taking her bishop.
Biting her lip, Wonder Woman was struggling trying to figure out her next move.
Moving her pawn, she hoped to counter only for another pawn to be taken.
"A good strategist thinks of all possible outcomes Princess." The Master Strategist said moving her Queen.
Growling Wonder Woman looks to the board.
"Wonder Woman!" Ladybug calls out getting her attention. "You can do this."
"Yeah if you help a group like us become heroes you can win a game of chess." Zatanna smiles.
"We believe in you." Silver Claw said.
Hearing this Wonder Woman smiles looking back to the game.
As the game went on both players moved their pieces trying to outmaneuver the other and weaken the other by taking their pieces.
Finally Wonder Woman was down to a rook, knight, a bishop and one pawn but her opponent had her Queen, a few pawns and a bishop leftover.
Looking at the board Wonder Woman knew these next moves would decide it.
Moving her knight it was in striking distance of the King.
"Check." Wonder Woman said hoping it would work.
Smirking the Strategist moves her Queen in and takes the knight.
"Valiant effort Diana but not enough." She said but Wonder Woman smiles seeing something.
"Wrong. That sacrifice led me to victory." Grabbing her bishop, Wonder Woman slid it across the board. "Checkmate."
Eyes widening the strategist looks to the board and gasps. "What a comeback."
"I believe you mean a Miraculous comeback." Wonder Woman smiles causing the others to cringe.
"Yeah not your best Princess." Batgirl said.
"Great job Diana, we're halfway there." Silver Claw smiles patting her on the back.
"Oh uhm thank you." Wonder Woman giggles softly at the praise.
"And now that we are at the halfway mark we now go into the team events. The next event is about focus and support." Hippolyta said.
We find Batgirl and Green Lantern in a large tower filled with over 3 dozen owls.
"Attached to the leg of one owl in this tower is a key. It is Batgirl's job to try and locate the key, but while Batgirl is searching my amazons will try to stop her. It is Green Lantern's job to fight them off to give Batgirl the chance she needs to find the key." Hippolyta explains.
"What? No I don't believe in violence." Green Lantern said.
"Then you will fail. And neither you cannot switch positions." Hippolyta said causing Green Lantern to gulp and turn to her friends.
"Guys I can't do this." Green Lantern said.
"Jess you have to, if you don't fight Sam and I are done." Ladybug said.
"But I—" Green Lantern starts.
"Jess, look I respect your choice but remember something we're willing to give our lives to protect you if something happens. Don't you think it's only right you do the same for us?" Silver Claw asks.
Hearing this Green Lantern slowly walks back to Batgirl.
"Ha don't worry I bet I can find that owl in no time flat." Batgirl said nudging her.
However, Hippolyta smashes some glass causing all the owls to get startled and fly around the room in a wild random fashion.
"Me and my big mouth." Batgirl cringed before running around to try and find the one with the key. "Come on, which one is it? Which one?"
Batgirl tried to figure out which one had it when two Amazon Warriors leaped in from the top and surrounded her.
"Uh Green Lantern little help here!" Batgirl said.
Acting quickly Green Lantern made a trampoline under her allowing Batgirl to leap to the upper level.
"Leave her alone!" Green Lantern said.
Looking to her, the two amazons draw a sword and an axe before attacking her.
Creating a shield, Green Lantern tries blocking the attacks but the two amazons start to overpower her.
As Batgirl leaped up to the next level she looked around. "Come on focus, focus." Batgirl said trying to figure out which one it was when she saw a small shine.
Gasping she leaps to it only for it to see the shine from a piece of glass.
"Aw man, not it." Batgirl said.
Creating a suit of armor, Green Lantern tries to protect herself as the two amazons ganged up on her.
Creating a rug under one, Green Lantern pulls it causing her to fall over.
Smiling she thought she was fine when suddenly the other amazon broke through her armor and punched Green Lantern sending her crashing down a few levels and landing across from her team.
Up above, Batgirl was struggling as she tried to find the real one.
She was about to leap to the next level when an amazon grabs her cape and yanks her down.
Pinning her to the ground Batgirl looks to see both amazons looking down at her.
"Uh see ya!" Slamming her smoke bomb down, Batgirl tried to escape them.
"Green Lantern! Help!" Batgirl yells as she was struggling to fight off the amazons while figuring out where the owl was.
"Jess you gotta get up." Bumblebee said as Green Lantern cringed in pain.
"I can't do it. I can't fight okay. It's not who I am." Green Lantern said.
"Jess!" Asteria yells getting her attention. "Think about when you saw me pick up Sam and Marinette's hurt and unconscious bodies! Think about it, do you really want to see the rest of your friends end up like that?!"
Pausing Green Lantern remembers how bruised and beaten Sam and Marinette were, how helpless she felt.
Sam and Marinette always gave it everything they had to protect them and others. Jessica Cruz may not believe in violence but Green Lantern was a hero…and heroes fight to protect others.
A look of determination filled her eyes. Getting up Green Lantern sees Batgirl being corned by the amazons.
"In brightest day, in blackest night, no evil shall escape my sight. Let those who worship evil's might, beware my power Green Lantern's Light!" She roars as her ring reacted to her willpower and she launched herself up towards the fight.
Creating a giant green fist, Green Lanter punches both Amazons knocking them away.
"Get away from her!" Green Lantern said charging in.
Creating a cage, Green Lantern traps them inside.
"Green Lantern, you're really fighting." Batgirl smiles.
"Yes but not because of violence; this is protecting my friends." Green Lantern smiles helping her up. "Now get that key."
"You got it." Batgirl said taking out her grapple gun and launching herself back up.
Looking around at the scattering owls, Batgirl kept her eyes open. She couldn't afford to be distracted to had to focus.
Creating giant chains, Green Lantern ties up the amazons and clamps them down.
"Come on Bats." Green Lantern said holding them both down.
Up above, Batgirl closed her eyes and listened.
As she focused through the flapping of wings she heard a metal jingle.
Opening her eyes she spots it. A White owl with the key tied to its legs.
"Gotcha!" Batgirl grins swinging in and grabbing the key off it.
"I got it!" Batgirl smiles before doing her victory dance. "Uh huh. Oh yeah! We did it! We did it!"
Undoing her chains, Green Lantern and Batgirl walk out only to be immediately hugged by everyone.
"You guys did it." Zatanna smiles.
"Jess you gave up your pacifist thing for us." Silver Claw said.
"No, like you said Silver Claw. Heroes have to fight, so I just need to find balance. Jessica Cruz can be a pacifist but Green Lantern is a hero." She smiles.
Smiling Silver Claw gives her a big hug.
"Aw thanks." She smiles.
The next event had Zatanna and Ladybug working together against another duo of Amazons.
"This trial is about cooperation. You two must race my amazons through those tunnels to the top of that mountain where the flag is. First team to grab it wins." Hippolyta said pointing to a flag atop the mountain. "But be warned one path is the right path the other is a long way. If you miss your chance you'll have to go that way. You are allowed to use any powers or abilities to fight to the flag but no flying or transportation."
"Ugh a race. Not really my thing." Zatanna said.
"Well, we need this win." Ladybug said.
"Wish me luck guys." Zatanna said.
"Good luck." Silver Claw said.
"I wish you were my partner for this." Zatanna said causing Ladybug to glare at her as Zatanna walked next to her.
"Ready…go!" Hippolyta said as both teams ran to the mountain.
"Come on Zatanna keep up!" Ladybug said as she and the amazons were neck and neck while Zatanna was struggling to catch up.
"Go Ladybug!" Silver Claw cheers.
"Come on Zatanna!" Green Lantern cheers.
"Well she said we could slow them down. Nrut eht doar to dnas!" Zatanna said firing a blast of magic but at the last second the Amazons turn causing the road under Ladybug to turn into sand making her trip and fall. "Whoops sorry."
"What were you thinking?" Ladybug asks as Zatanna helped her up and they ran after them.
"I was trying to slow them down." Zatanna said.
"Well you slowed someone down." Ladybug said.
Turning a corner both Ladybug and Zatanna tried to gain on them.
Spinning her yoyo Ladybug throws it and it latches onto a rock above them.
"Hang on." Ladybug said as Zatanna grabbed her and they swing in.
Looking up one Amazon sees them gaining.
Grabbing her mace, she throws it breaking the rock the yoyo was attached to causing both heroes to fall and tumble.
Racing across a rope bridge the amazons made to the shortcut.
As Ladybug and Zatanna scrambled to catch up the other Amazon team swings their sword cutting the rope to the shortcut forcing them to stop.
"Oh no." Ladybug said before seeing the long way. "Come on if we hurry we can catch them."
As they entered the other tunnel their teammates lost sight of them.
"Oh man not the best start." Bumblebee said.
"What happened back there?" Green Lantern asks.
"I don't know but I hope they can figure things out." Silver Claw said worried.
In the tunnel, Ladybug and Zatanna were running through it.
"Ugh thanks a lot Ladybug thanks to you we're stuck taking the long path." Zatanna said.
"Excuse me, but I wasn't the one whose magic attack fell short." Ladybug said.
"Look I get you and Sam's futures as heroes are on the line here but you can actually try to listen to me." Zatanna said.
"Try to listen? I offer to help and all you think about is how you wished you were paired with Sam for this." Ladybug said.
"Well excuse me if I like working with someone I have good chemistry with." Zatanna said getting angry.
"Well excuse me Princess sorry I'm not like all your servants in your penthouse who have been waiting on you hand and foot since you were born." Ladybug glares.
"I wasn't born rich alright! For a long time, my dad and I lived out of an RV!" Zatanna snapped surprising her.
"Wait what?" Ladybug said as Zatanna sighs.
"Look Marinette, when my dad and I were traveling the country trying to get our magic act off the ground every day was a struggle. Sometimes we didn't even have a stage. The only reason we have our life now is because we got lucky and a talent scout saw us at a Showcase." Zatanna admits.
"So why do you always act snobbish and braggy about your magic skills?" Ladybug asks.
"I guess because when a girl spends her whole life struggling to step out of her dad's shadow she gets a little angry when people don't appreciate her talents." Zatanna said.
"Well I appreciate you." Ladybug said as Zatanna looks over. "I'm sorry I was a jerk to you. To be honest there was a girl in my world who had this attitude and she made my life miserable for years just because I was a baker's daughter."
"What's wrong with that? I would love it if me and my dad could do something like that together." Zatanna said. "I'm sorry I was so bossy."
"And I'm sorry I was so snippy." Ladybug said.
"Friends?" Zatanna smiles holding out her hand.
"Friends." Ladybug smiles as they exit the tunnel.
Looking around they spot the flag right above them at the top of the mountain.
"There's the Flag!" Ladybug said when Zatanna noticed the other team closing in on it.
"And there's the Amazons! We gotta get up there before they do!" Zatanna points.
"Lucky Charm!" Ladybug throws her yoyo into the air and from it a bungee cord appears. "A bungee cord?"
"But we don't need to go up not down." Zatanna said as Ladybug looks around for clues before seeing it.
"I got an idea, but we're gonna need a real show stopper." Ladybug said causing Zatanna to grin.
Across the mountain, Silver Claw, Batgirl and Green Lantern were looking for any sign of them.
"Any sign of them?" Wonder Woman asks.
"Nothing." Green Lantern said.
"Uh oh, other closing in on the flag and fast." Supergirl said as the amazons reached the top and were running towards it.
Suddenly a yoyo flies in and latches into a nearby rock.
Swinging up Ladybug throws Zatanna into the air above the amazons.
Spinning like a ballerina Zatanna fires multiple magical blasts forcing the Amazons to leap back.
Using this opening Zatanna throws the bungee cord so it wraps around both their feet allowing Ladybug to throw her yoyo and yank them to the edge where she hooks the cord to the rock causing the amazons to scream as they bungeed down to near the bottom before coming to a stop.
Dropping down by the flag, Zatanna and Ladybug grab it winning the match for them.
"Pound it." Ladybug and Zatanna fist bump.
"We make a pretty good team." Ladybug smiles.
"Yeah we do, but just FYI Ladybug I don't plan on losing our real competition." Zatanna smirks.
"Uh wha?" Ladybug said confused.
"We're friends but don't think that means I'll let you have him." Zatanna said walking away.
"Him?" Ladybug said not liking the sound of that.
"One more win and the box is ours." Bumblebee said.
"Alright Silver Claw, you're all that's left. We're counting on you." Wonder Woman said.
"You can count on me." Silver Claw nods.
That night as the clouds were covering the night sky, torches were being lit as all the amazons filled the colosseum.
Walking out, Silver Claw finds Hippolyta waiting in the middle of the arena.
"Silver Claw, for the final challenge you must compete in the trial of resolve. You have all showed tremendous potential but none of that matters if you don't have the resolve to fight." Hippolyta said.
"I'm ready. What do I have to do?" Silver Claw asks as Hippolyta draws her sword.
"For your challenge you must defeat me in battle." Hippolyta declares shocking the Miraculous Heroes.
"What?!" Zatanna panics.
"Sam has to fight your mom?!" Batgirl panics.
"Uh Wonder Woman be honest does Sam have any sort of chance of winning?" Ladybug gulps.
"Uh…not that I know of." Wonder Woman cringed.
"I've fought by Hippolyta when she was Ladybug, and she is fierce." Asteria admits.
"So you mean there's no way Sam can beat her?" Supergirl asks.
"Well…" Pausing Asteria looks up at the cloudy night sky. "A small one."
As Silver Claw drew his swords many of the amazons cheered for their queen while the others booed him.
"He is not popular." Green Lantern cringed.
"Yeah kinda glad I didn't get this one." Bumblebee gulps.
"Come on, Sam needs us to have his back." Zatanna said.
"Go Silver Claw!" Batgirl cheers.
Pausing both stared each other down.
Making the first move, Silver Claw charged in but Hippolyta blocks his strike and pushes him back with ease.
Leaping back Silver Claw lunges forward but just as Hippolyta was about to strike Silver Claw leaps over her and attacks from behind.
Spinning around Hippolyta kicks Silver Claw in the face making him stumble back.
Trying to shake off the attack Silver Claw looks up to see Hippolyta swing her sword at him.
Acting quickly he rolls out of the way dodging the attack and delivering a kick to the stomach making Hippolyta skid back allowing him to get up.
"You show spirit, but that's not enough. You have to want it. Your resolve must be strong. Not just for this fight but for every fight you're in. Otherwise, you're not worthy of the Miraculous." Hippolyta said going on the attack.
Raising his sword, Silver Claw tries to defend but Hippolyta's attacks were too much as she pounded her sword against his forcing Silver Claw down onto his knees.
"Come on Silver Claw! Push back!" Wonder Woman calls out.
"Beat him into the ground, your majesty!" An amazon yells as many cheer in agreement.
Bringing her sword down, Hippolyta knocks Silver Claw to the ground and his sword out of his hand.
As it skidded across the arena, Silver Claw looks to it and then to her.
Scrambling he runs to try and grab it but Hippolyta saw right through his strategy and the second he grabbed it Hippolyta nailed him with a powerful strike sending him flying.
Crashing into the wall, Silver Claw hits the ground hard and groans in pain.
"Oh no." They all look in horror while the Amazons cheered for their queen.
Little did they know on the cliffs behind the arena, Jason and the other Pegasi were looking down watching the battle and the little foal was watching Silver Claw worried about him.
"Stay down." Hippolyta said as Silver Claw struggles to get up.
Looking at the stands, Silver Claw saw all of his teammates. Each one had their own struggles. Bumblebee found the courage to pull the Hydra's scales, Supergirl learned to control her strength and outmaneuver the amazons with two urns of water, Wonder Woman bested the Master Strategist at her own game, Batgirl managed to focus through the distractions and find the key, Green Lantern was able to put the needs of others before her own, and Ladybug and Zatanna managed to work together and become an amazing team.
They all struggled but they didn't give up.
Panting heavily, Silver Claw stared her down as he slowly got up.
"No…none of my teammates gave up and guess what? Neither am I! I don't care how many times you knock me to the ground because I am not giving up until I get that box!" Silver Claw declares standing tall.
"Come on Silver Claw!" The Miraculous Heroes cheer.
Looking up Asteria sees the clouds begin to part revealing a full moon causing her to smile.
"Girls…this match is ours." Asteria declares.
"What do you mean?" Ladybug asks as Asteria points down.
As the full moon shined down on him, Silver Claw's Miraculous started to glow as a silver aura envelops him.
"Oh no." Hippolyta gasps as Silver Claw felt stronger than ever.
"What's going on?" Zatanna asks.
"When the wolf Miraculous is under the full moon it's full powers are unlocked. That's why I suggested we have Sam go last. I knew his would be right at the end of the day." Asteria smiles.
"A wise choice, Asteria." Wayzz smiles.
Taking a stance, Silver Claw charges in and thanks to the full moon he raced towards her and as he clashes swords with her a powerful shockwave.
"Such power." Wonder Woman said in awe.
Swinging his swords multiple times Silver Claw pushes Hippolyta back as he started to overpower her.
Pushing back Hippolyta goes on the attack but Silver Claw blocks it and slides in nailing Hippolyta with a kick sending her tumbling back.
Swinging his sword with all his might, Silver Claw and Hippolyta clash weapons trying to overpower the other but even with the full moon boost, Hippolyta was not giving up.
As Silver Claw delivers a powerful strike, Hippolyta whacks him back causing him to skid across the ground.
Panting heavily, Silver Claw moves his fist in a taunting gesture.
"He's actually asking for more?" Bumblebee gasps.
Moving in Hippolyta attacks with a series of quick and powerful strikes causing Silver Claw to put up his guard.
"What's he doing?" Green Lantern asks.
"He needs to attack." Ladybug said when Asteria sees his plan.
"Not yet, he's waiting." Asteria realized.
As Hippolyta kept up her assault Silver Claw did his best to remain strong and block her attacks.
"Come on wait her out! Wait her out! Not yet." Supergirl said as Silver Claw was taking her attacks.
"Silver Claw! Silver Claw! Silver Claw! Silver Claw!" The Miraculous Heroes chanted as Hippolyta strikes started to slow down meaning she was getting tired.
Seeing this Silver Claw grinned. "Now."
"NOW!" Asteria yells as Silver Claw swings up knocking Hippolyta back surprising everyone.
"Come on get in there! Don't let her breathe!" Wonder Woman yells as Silver Claw goes on the attack pushing Hippolyta back.
"Knock that stupid queen off her throne!" Zatanna yells as Silver Claw kicks her but Hippolyta blocks it and swings back.
"Get her! Get her! Get her!" Batgirl and Bumblebee yell.
"Work the body get inside!" Supergirl yells.
"Get her Silver Claw!" Ladybug yells.
As Hippolyta slams her sword down, Silver Claw spins out of the way and punches her making her stagger back.
"Moon Call!" Silver Claw took a deep breath and released a sonic howl with glowing silver blades alongside it as it.
Hippolyta tried raising her sword to deflect it but the attacks were too much slicing it in half before Silver Claw charged in with a glowing sword and slashes Hippolyta causing her to smash into the wall shocking everyone.
When the dust clears, Hippolyta was panting heavily with a few bruises when she sees Silver Claw with his sword inches from her face.
Seeing the look of determination in his eyes a soft smile appears on her face.
"I surrender. You have bested me." Hippolyta declares.
Hearing this a brief silence fills the air as Ladybug was the first to smile.
"He did it!" Ladybug cheers as the Miraculous Heroes bounced up and down with joy.
"We get the box! We get the box! We get the box!" Batgirl dances.
"And you guys get to keep your kwamis too." Supergirl smiles.
"Amazing…he actually beat my mother." Wonder Woman said in awe.
Up on the cliffs, Jason and the other Peagsi were neighing happily for him.
Soon Hippolyta was walking up to Sam and Marinette holding out the Miracle Box.
"You two proved me wrong today, and I proud to present you with this box. Use it wisely and may you both become great Miraculous wielders." Hippolyta smiles.
"Thank you, your majesty." Marinette smiles.
"We won't let you down." Sam smiles as they both take the box causing it to glow bright.
When the light died down the box had changed to a red and silver box with black spots indicating each Miraculous spot.
"We did it Marinette." Sam smiles.
"You take it from here Asteria." Hippolyta said.
"I'll make sure they're ready." Asteria nods.
"Excellent. Amazons present arms!" Hippolyta calls out as all the Amazons raise their spears in respect, even to Sam.
"Now this is more like it." Zee smiles as they walked out.
"I could get used to this." Kara smiles.
"I must say Diana, your allies are something else." Hippolyta smiles.
"Yes mother, yes they are." Diana smiles when Hippolyta leans in.
"And just between you and me. Not many men can best me like that one did. I approve." Hippolyta said causing Diana to blush.
"Wait what?" Diana said.
"I'm just saying. A man like that is rare." Hippolyta giggles causing Diana to shake it off.
"Mother!" Diana said walking away.
At the docks, everyone was preparing to head back home.
"Diana, I was wondering, how are your living arrangements?" Asteria asks looking to her.
"I have a suitable camp." Diana said.
"Well I was just wondering. I mean if you're comfortable you don't have to but I have guest room at my place and having another Amazon living with me would be very nice." Asteria hints causing Diana to gasp.
"You…I can live with you?" Diana asks.
"If you'd like." Asteria smiles.
"Nothing would make me happier." Diana smiles.
As they approached the boat to head back Sam looked to see the Pegasi nearby.
"Hey uh you guys hold on a second I'll be right back." Sam said walking away.
"What's he doing?" Kara asks.
"I don't know." Marinette said when Diana sees where he's going.
"I might have an idea." Diana smiles.
Looking over they see Sam walk up to the Pegasi.
"Hey guys, it's time for me to go." Sam said.
Frowning Jason walks up to him sad.
"Hey don't be like that. You gotta be strong, brave little guys like you don't cry." Sam smiles stroking his mane.
"I don't believe it." Asteria said impressed.
"He's bonded to the Peagsi." Hippolyta said equally impressed.
Neighing Jason nuzzles Sam causing him to chuckle.
"There's that brave face." Sam smiles.
Needless to say Marinette, Zee and Diana really enjoyed this.
"Your majesty." Sam said looking to her. "This little guy here is a brave one. Who knows he could grow up to be quite the Pegasus. Can you keep an eye on him for me?" Sam asks.
"I don't see why not." Hippolyta smiles.
"I named him Jason, like the Argonaut. Who knows maybe someday he could be quite the brave adventurer." Sam smiles.
"A strong name. I'll allow it." Hippolyta nods.
"Bye Jason, hope I can see you soon." Sam smiles giving him one last hug.
Neighing Jason tried flapping his wings and he briefly got off the ground before leaving with his herd.
Slowly walking back to the boat, they watched as Themyscria got further and further away.
"Well girls, this was by far the craziest challenge of our lives." Sam said.
"But we all pulled through." Tikki said.
"Yep and now we're a much better team than ever before." Marinette smiles.
"Those Dark Miraculous clowns won't know what hit them." Kara said.
"You guys always have our backs now it's our turn." Jess smiles.
Each of them grew a little stronger from this island and now that they had the Miracle Box they knew they had a chance to get stronger than ever before.
