Chapter 14: Meeting the Kwamis

In Asteria's place, Asteria opens the front door walking in with some boxes.
"Well Diana what do you think? It's not a palace, but it's home." Asteria said as Diana walks in behind her and sees all the artifacts, weapons and furniture.
"It's perfect." Diana smiles when Kara comes in holding the rest of Diana's gear.
"Geez Diana I can't believe you had all this stuff up a tree." Kara said.
"Thanks for helping me move in, Kara." Diana said.
"And don't worry I am familiar with the human tradition of assisting with moving means I must reward you with Pizza." Asteria said taking out a cellphone. "What kind would you like?"
"Meat Lovers please." Kara smiles as she was about to lean against the wall.
"Uh Ms. Kara please not there." Wayzz said gesturing the weapons above them. "Those are from the Ming Dynasty."
"Ming Dynasty?" Kara said surprised sitting down in a chair.
"I've been living here for thousands of years. I've gotten around." Asteria said taking a box to Diana's room.
"Every couple of decades we've had to change towns and occupations to avoid suspicion." Wayzz said.
"Wow must be annoying." Kara said.
"Hardly, if I stayed in the same town for over hundreds people would question me and draw too much attention. Plus I don't mind it. Each time it gives me a chance to reinvent myself and meet new people." Asteria smiles.
"It must have been lonely being stranded in the world of man all by yourself." Diana said.
"While I did always have Wayzz, I eventually found some company whether they be good friends or even some men in my life." Asteria giggles surprising her.
"Wait what?" Diana asks.
"She has quite a few wedding rings and other engagement items stashed here." Wayzz said.
"But Amazons hate men because they enslaved us." Diana said.
"The world of man isn't amazing but even in this place I found a few decent men who made living here amazing. Warriors, explorers, doctors, I even dated a rock star once." Asteria said.
"That's unbelievable." Diana said.
"I'll say, which rock star?" Kara asks leaning in interested.
"That is not the point. Mick Jagger." Asteria said emphasizing that last part in a bragging tone.
"Oh man! Lady you're my hero!" Kara smiles blown away.
"But wait if you married some of these men doesn't that mean you outlived them all?" Diana asks concerned causing Asteria to frown slightly.
"Sadly yes, I fell in love but eventually they all died while I lived. It's always painful being separated from a loved one but I learned that with love comes loss and every relationship I've been in has made me so happy. Happier than I've ever been. So I've learned I have to accept the bad with the good." Asteria said.
"Wise words." Diana smiles.
"Diana I hope someday you can find a man to love who makes you happy." Asteria said.
Pausing Diana thought back to when she saw Sam bonding with the Pegasi back on Themyscria.
"Maybe." Diana said.
The next day, at Asteria's Warrior Spirit Dojo, Sam and Marinette placed the Miracle Box down on the floor as they surrounded it.
"Alright young heroes after all the trials you went through it's finally time to meet the rest of our allies and forces that will help you on your journey." Asteria said.
"Oh yeah with these new powers those dumb Dork Miraculous won't know what hit them." Kara said.
"Come on Mari open it up! I wanna see all those adorable kwamis!" Babs said bouncing up and down excited.
"Easy Babs take it easy." Marinette giggles.
"Oh wow, I can't wait to see all our old friends again." Tikki said.
"They may not be our versions but I'm happy either way." Faang said before pausing. "Well except maybe one."
"Who?" Sam asks.
"Plagg, the kwami of Destruction." Faang said causing Karen to get nervous.
"Destruction?" She asks hiding behind Jessica.
"Karen it's just a kwami how bad can he be?" Jessica asks.
"Well let's see: he sank Atlantis, he's the reason the leaning tower of Pisa is the way it is, he destroyed the Sphinx's nose in Egypt." Faang lists.
"He also the reason the Dragons and Dinosaurs went extinct." Tikki adds.
"Wait what?!" Marinette gasps.
"Okay didn't see that coming." Sam admits.
"Such amazing power in such little creatures." Diana said amazed.
"That is why kwamis must always have an owner. It helps suppress their powers. If they don't their powers can get out of control." Asteria explains.
"You don't say." Sam gulps as they looked at the three kwamis in the room.
"Kwamis sound a lot like Kara." Barbara said.
"Hey! I'm not that bad." Kara glares.
"Well…" All of them paused remembering how many times they had to fix her messes.
"Alright team time for the moment of truth." Zee said as Sam and Marinette bent down and when they opened the box 12 bright lights shot out and from it a dozen kwamis appeared: a black cat, a fox, a bee, a mouse, a dragon, a tiger, a snake, a rabbit, a monkey, a pig, a horse, and a dog.
"Whoa where are we?" The Pig kwami asks.
"This isn't Themyscria." The tiger kwami said.
"Wait a minute." The cat kwami looks and sees Tikki floating in the air nearby. "Sugarcube! You're alive!" He smiles flying in and hugging her.
"Plagg?" Tikki said surprised.
"If this is a dream never wake me up." Plagg smiles when he noticed Faang and deadpans. "Oh yaay, Dogbreath is here too." Plagg said with a hint o disappointment in his voice.
"Nice to see you too Plagg." Faang narrows his eyes.
"Faang!" The fox kwami flies in and hugs him. "I thought I'd never see you again."
"Hi Trixx." Faang smiles.
"That must be Cat Noir's kwami." Marinette said.
"Wait a second, this little guy wiped out the dinosaurs?" Kara asks surprised.
"Dinosaurs? Please, those guys were a bunch of wusses." Plagg said when Zee lets out a scream.
"Oh my gosh a bunny kwami and you are so cute." Zee smiles holding the bunny one in her hands.
"Hi, I'm Fluff, nice to meet you. You sure are sparkly are you famous?" Fluff asks.
"Why yes I am, I'm Zee Zatara but you can also call me the Great and Amazing Zatanna." Zee declares.
"A popular girl huh? Interesting." The horse kwami said. "She would make a fine owner."
"Kaalki don't underestimate the other children they might not meet your expectations but they sure were worthy after passing on the amazon's trials." Wayzz points out.
"Whatever you say Wayzz." Kaalki said brushing it off. "Always the goodie two shoes, this one."
"Wow a bee kwami." Karen said as the bee floated in front of her.
"Greetings I'm Pollen the bee kwami I hope I can be a great service for you my queen." Pollen bows.
"Oh uh I'm not a queen, but uh Diana is a princess." Karen said uncomfortably.
"Karen that's just Pollen polite, I think she just wants to be friendly." Diana giggles.
"Oh uh thank you." Karen smiles.
"Wow you're a cool one." Jess said looking at the snake.
"I am Sass, a pleasure to meet you." He nods.
"Hi Sass, I'm Jessica Cruz. I look forward to getting to know you." Jess smiles.
"As do I." Sass smiles.
"Aw you're not a bat kwami." Babs said looking at the monkey kwami.
"I'm no dumb bat! I'm Xuppu you nitwit!" He said offended before blowing raspberries at her.
"Bats aren't dumb! You are!" Barbara said sticking her tongue out at him.
Growling the two made dumb funny faces at each other mocking the other.
"Well those two clearly think alike." Marinette cringed.
"Greetings, I am Longg." The dragon introduced floating towards Diana.
"Longg, I hope you will help us become fine warriors." Diana smiles.
"I will certainly try." Longg nods.
"Hey you're a cool one." Kara said looking at the tiger kwami.
"I am Roaar." It said.
"Roaar, sounds like a tough guy name. You a tough guy?" Kara asks.
"Oh yeah." Roaar nods.
"Hi there, so you're Tikki's master huh?" The mouse kwami asks.
"Yep nice to meet you." Marinette smiles.
"I'm Mullo."
"Hi Mullo, I'm Marinette." Marinette smiles.
Looking around Sam saw the Pig and Dog kwami observing.
"Ooh I hope that one is my holder." The pig said looking at Diana.
"No way, I want her to be my wielder." The dog kwami said.
"Uh hate to burst your bubble but Diana isn't anyone's holder just yet." Sam said.
"She's not?" Both groaned.
"Sorry but as of right now, the only ones using Miraculous are Asteria, Marinette and me. I'm Sam by the way." Sam introduces.
"I'm Daizzi." The pig smiles.
"Call me Barkk." The dog said.
"It's nice to meet you all." Sam said.
As Karen looks around she notices some empty spaces in the Miracle Box with no items in them at all.
"Hey Asteria, what's going on here? There's a few empty spaces in this box." Karen asks.
"Yes, well that means the remaining Miraculous are still out there in the world waiting to be discovered." Asteria said.
"Wait? There's more out there?" Marinette asks.
"Many." Asteria nods. "And we might have to go looking for them."
"Wow." Both Sam and Marinette said.
"Alright young heroes we finally obtained the box and now I think it's time for you to learn more secrets about the Miraculous." Asteria said.
"Uh isn't just only saying magical words and suit it up?" Kara asks.
"Wrong young Danvers the miraculous are more just the saying magical words but there is a huge responsibility in wear it." Asteria said.
"So if what you say is true then how can a miraculous gets more powerful?" Barbara asks.
"Excellent question young Barbara and to answer it the kwamis can get powered up by magical potions here I'll show you." Taking out the grimoire, Asteria showed them the special abilities and powers of the kwamis.
"Hey Marinette, it's you!" Zee said looking at the picture of Ladybug.
"Wow, so that was a previous owner." Marinette said.
"And there's Cat Noir." Sam said looking at an image of their old partner.
But when Asteria turned the page, both Marinette and Sam gasp seeing Hawk Moth in the book.
"HAWK MOTH?!" They said in horror.
"What's he doing in a book for superheroes?!" Marinette asks.
"I don't know!" Sam panics.
"Wait, that's the Hawk Moth that gave you guys so much trouble in your world?" Jess asks.
"That's the wielder of the Butterfly Miraculous." Asteria said.
"Yeah and he also is the reason Sam and I are even in this world." Marinette said as both of them frowned.
Cringing everyone knew them being stranded in this world was always a sensitive issue for Marinette and Sam.
"Alright everyone I guess that's enough for everyone first reunion. Now we'll talk about your training. A good warrior always trains both body and mind. So while you children are in your civilian attire you will come to my dojo and train. But now we need to find somewhere else to train your superhero personas." Asteria said pondering.
"I know we can train in the junkyard when we first get started in our superhero quest." Diana said.
"The junkyard? Ugh no thanks." Zee groans.
"Well Zee do you have a better idea?" Marinette smirks.
"As a matter of fact. I do. It's a huge place where we can train to the best of our abilities and not worry about harming others." Zee said.
"A place I can go all out?" Kara asks interested.
"Very well, Zee please enlighten us on this location." Asteria said.
Grinning Zee places her magic hat down.
"I call it Z's Realm. A magical location where the only ones inside will be the ones sucked inside the hat and we can come and go as often as we please. Whether as teams or even by ourselves." Zee explains.
"Why didn't you tell us this when we first started training?" Diana asks.
"I didn't know if I could trust you guys when we first met." Zee shrugs.
"Good point." Kara admits.
"Way to pull through for us Zee." Sam smiles.
"Well before we leave, I have last one thing to say. Sam, Marinette I want to give you your first Miraculous training assignment." Asteria said.
"Sure what is it?" Marinette asks.
"Will we be learning about potions and other abilities?" Sam asks.
"Not yet, first I want you two to trade Miraculous." Asteria said confusing them.
"What? I have to give Tikki to Sam." Marinette asks.
"And Marinette gets Faang?" Sam asks not sure about this.
"You two may be decent with your current kwamis but you understand all the kwamis even each others. So for the next week Sam will be the wielder of the Ladybug Miraculous and Marinette will wield the Wolf Miraculous." Asteria said.
Pausing, Sam and Marinette slowly take off their bracelet and earrings.
"Take good care of him for me." Sam said handing Marinette his bracelet.
"I will and please look after Tikki." Marinette said giving him her earrings.
Putting the bracelet on her arm, Marinette looks to see Faang appear at her side.
"Hello Marinette, it appears we're a team now." Faang said.
"I guess so." Marinette nods as Sam looks at the earrings.
"I've never really worn earrings before. You girls mind helping me?" Sam asks a little embarrassed.
Hearing this Marinette giggles. "You take off the pin and push it through your ear before putting the pin back on."
"Oh uh got it." Slowly Sam reaches up and puts the earrings on but struggles.
Giggling Zee walks up to him. "Here hold still." Reaching up Zee takes the earrings and put them into his ears but as she leaned in Sam saw Zee's face and chest were inches from him and he had to admit, he couldn't help but steal a few glances. "There all set." Zee said as Tikki appeared next to him.
"Hello Sam, I hope we make a good team." Tikki said.
"Yeah, me too Tikki." Sam said. "Thanks Zee, I've never really been one for jewelry before." Sam admits.
"You should try, those actually look pretty good on you." Zee smiles causing Sam to reach up and touch his ears.
"Alright young warriors, let's call it a day and head home. I'm sure Sam and Marinette would like some time to get used to their new kwamis." Asteria assumes.
That night, Sam was lying in his bed with Tikki nearby.
"Here you go Tikki." Sam said handing her a chocolate chip cookie.
"Thanks Sam." Tikki said eating it.
"Guess I better switch from Beef Jerky to sweets for the next week." Sam said
"You know we've hung out quite a bit, but this might be the first time it's just been the two of us." Tikki said.
"Yeah I guess you're right." Sam realized sitting up. "We've always had Marinette or Faang with us."
"You know believe it or not I've never had a boy wear my Miraculous before. You're the first." Tikki said.
"Well you can't really call yourself Ladybug when you're a guy, can you?" Sam chuckles causing Tikki to giggle.
"Probably not." Tikki shook her head.
"How about Mister Bug?" Sam suggests.
"Mister Bug? I like it." Tikki smiles.
"You know I can really see why you and Marinette get along so well. You're both really fun to be around." Sam smiles.
"Yeah, I'm really lucky Marinette's my owner. She's a great Ladybug and a great friend." Tikki said.
"Yeah she is. I'm really glad she's here with me. Marinette's one of a kind." Sam sighs.
Pausing Tikki looks to Sam. 'Wait does Sam like Marinette?'
In Marinette's room, Marinette was sitting at her desk with Faang sitting nearby eating some beef jerky.
"So Faang, guess we're a team for the next week." Marinette said uncomfortably.
"Let me guess, you'd rather still have Tikki." Faang assumes.
"What? No I mean I like you Faang, but Tikki's been there for me since Day one." Marinette said quickly.
"Hey I get it, Sam and I are like that. We're partners, but right now I'm your partner Marinette and I got your back." Faang smiles making her feel better.
"Thanks Faang." Marinette said carrying him over to her bed. "So what do you think? Think I have what it takes to be Silver Claw?"
"I think so, if I'm being honest when Sam started out, he wasn't the Silver Claw he is now." Faang said causing her to giggle.
"Well luckily he's come a long way." Marinette said laying down. "Still Silver Claw is his name. How about for mine…Lady Claw? How's that sound?"
"Lady Claw, I like it. It's really you." Faang smiles.
"Thanks Faang, I can see why Sam likes having you as his kwami." Marinette said.
"Yeah don't worry about Tikki, she's in good hands." Faang assures.
"I know she is, Sam's a great guy. I'm really lucky he's here with me. He's one of a kind." Marinette smiles.
Pausing Faang looks to Marinette. 'Wait does Marinette like Sam?'
As both Sam and Marinette went to bed, their new kwamis went to bed next to them.
Back at Asteria's place, Diana was laying in her new bed reading a book when Asteria pop her head in and knocks on the wall.
"Time for light's out Diana." Asteria said.
"Already?" Diana asks.
"You have to get your rest for school and I have my dojo to open up tomorrow." Asteria said walking in. "A warrior needs her rest to conquer the battlefield that is tomorrow."
"Yes, Asteria." Diana said closing her book and climbing into bed. "Thank you again for letting me stay here."
"It's my pleasure." Asteria said walking to the light. "I look forward to training you and your friends Diana. Night." Turning off the lights, Asteria goes back to her room while Diana lays in her new bed and falls asleep with a smile on her face.
In the main room, Asteria opens the grimoire and looks at the book.
"Guess I better break out the beakers and get to mixing. Who knows when Sam and Marinette might need to change forms?" Asteria asks.
"Good thing you once were a Chemistry Professor back in England." Wayzz said.
"We're going to have our work cut out for us. How long before we tell them about Unification?" Wayzz asks.
"Let's first see if they can master the other's kwamis before they begin learning how to master more." Asteria smirks as she goes to the back room and opens it revealing beakers and boxes of special herbs and ingredients.
