Chapter 15: Mister Bug and Lady Claw

At school, Sam opened his locker and put his books inside. Reaching up he touched his earrings trying to get used to it.
"You okay Sam?" Tikki asks popping her head out of his jacket pocket.
"Sorry Tikki, just feels weird wearing these." Sam said.
"Don't worry, for the next week I have got your back." Tikki said.
"Thanks, I appreciate it." Sam said closing his locker.
As he turned to walk away Hal noticed him and immediately burst into laughter.
"Hey Sam nice earrings, does your sister know you're wearing her jewelry?" Hal mocks.
"I don't have a sister." Sam said.
"Oh well uh…why don't go give them back to the girls before they realize you stole them." Hal said making up a new one.
"At least girls like hanging out with me." Sam rolls his eyes and walking away leaving Hal speechless and humiliated.
As he turned a corner someone bumped him and walked away.
"Move it." A familiar voice said.
"Huh?" Turning around Sam saw Felix walking down the hall causing his eyes to widen seeing someone else.
"Tikki am I seeing things?" Sam asks.
"He looks like Adrien but a lot more formal." Tikki said equally surprised.
Nearby Marinette was at her locker with Faang popping his head out of her little purse.
"Gotta say this is a lot roomier than Sam's jacket. I should have him buy something like this for me." Faang said making Marinette giggle.
"Yeah most boys don't carry purses. I think you're out of luck." Marinette said.
Entering class, Selina Kyle sat down with a devilish grin on her face.
"Alright class we have some new students joining our school. Come on in." The teacher said.
Eyes widening in shock Sam and Marinette look to see Chloe walk in first.
"You've got to be kidding me." Marinette said.
"Not her, anyone but her." Sam cringed when Felix walked in behind her.
"Adrien?" Marinette gasps.
"Meet Chloe Bourgois and Felix Graham De Vanily. You two have anything you want to say?" The teacher asks.
"Hello, guess what your lives just got so much better." Chloe said.
"Felix do you have anything you want to say?" The teacher asks.
"No." Felix said.
Walking over, they sat near Selina in the back.
"So nice of you two to join me." Selina said.
"Oh shut it, you said you had an idea for recruits where are they?" Felix glares.
"Good things come to those who wait. I have some candidates in mind but I need to find more." Selina said.
"You better or else." Chloe glares.
At lunch, they were sitting together as Sam and Marinette told their friends what they knew.
"Wait so the spoiled rich girl you thought I was like is her?" Zee asks.
"Yep, she made my life a nightmare at school." Marinette groans holding her head. "And now she's gonna make this school a nightmare for me too."
"Yikes, talk about a spoiled brat." Kara said.
"But that guy Felix, he looks just like Adrien." Sam said.
"Yeah. He really does." Marinette sighs.
"Uh Marinette what is wrong?" Diana asks.
"Wait, Marinette do you have a crush on Felix?" Jessica asks.
"What? No not Felix I barely know him." Marinette recovers.
"Oh really?" Zee smirks.
"It's Adrien she likes." Faang said popping his head out.
"Marinette had a not-so-secret crush on Adrien back in our world." Sam said surprising her.
"Wait you knew?" Marinette asks.
"Literally everyone but Adrien knew you had a crush on him." Sam said.
"Wha?! How?" Marinette asks.
"You didn't hide it very well." Tikki said.
"You really didn't." Sam shook his head.
"Oh great." Marinette groans holding her head.
"Ooh Marinette if you like this Adrien guy maybe you should try going to Felix maybe he's our world's version of him." Babs suggests.
"What? No I can't do that." Marinette said.
"Babs she barely knows the guy." Jessica said.
"I remember my first crush. It was brutal." Karen said.
"Guys come on, if Marinette likes a boy she should go to him when she's ready." Zee said.
"Thanks Zee." Marinette asks.
"Just don't bring up the whole parallel world thing, he might thing you're crazy." Zee said.
"Noted." Marinette said.
"I don't get it; how can a boy make a girl so nervous?" Diana asks.
"It's part of having a crush Diana." Karen said.
"Yeah sooner or later you'll find a boy who makes you do stupid things." Kara chuckles.
"No boy will ever cast his spell on me and make me look ridiculous." Diana declares standing up.
"Diana sit down before someone sees us." Sam reached out and when he touched her hand Diana pulls back and bumps into her chair nearly stumbling.
"S-Sorry I-I guess I was startled." Diana said.
"Uh okay." Sam said raising an eyebrow.
As the school day came to an end, the sun was setting on Metropolis as Sam and Marinette were working at the bakery.
"All right I think I got it." Sam starts kneading the dough but ends up spilling flour all over him causing Marinette to giggle.
"Too much flour." Marinette said as Sam coughed some up.
"You make this look easy." Sam said.
"Lots of practice." Marinette said walking up to him. "Here watch me."
As Marinette showed Sam how to knead the dough he slowly started to copy her until the batch was finished.
"There you're getting it." Marinette said.
"Alright you two, quitting time." Miranda calls out.
"Time to close up for today." Victor said.
"Finally." Sam smiles taking off his apron.
As he walked to the front, he swiped a cookie for Tikki.
"So how did things go back here?" Miranda asks as Marinette walked out.
"I think Sam is more suited to giving away pastries than making them." Marinette teases.
"Yeah I stink." Sam cringed.
Chuckling the baking couple couldn't help but smile.
"Well then I guess I'll have to show you a few things." Victor said.
"Oh that won't be necessary. Marinette's right I can just work the counter." Sam said.
"Don't talk like that Sam. I'll teach you how to bake. Trust me, the ladies love a guy who knows his way around the kitchen." He chuckles.
"You don't say." Sam cringed seeing he was gonna be stuck in the back for a while causing Marinette to giggle.
"You two head upstairs and get ready for school tomorrow, we need to do some prepping of our own tonight." Miranda gestures.
"Night." Both smile as they walked up.
In Sam's room, he sat at his desk while Tikki ate the cookie he swiped.
"Man first that Felix guy and Chloe? I really hoped we wouldn't run into her." Tikki said.
"Tell me about it, but that Felix guy…you think there's a version of him in our world?" Sam asks.
"I don't know, but Marinette seems happy." Tikki said.
"Yeah…happy." Sam said with a hint of jealousy in his voice.
"What's wrong Sam? You don't seem to like that Felix is here." Tikki said.
"He hangs out with Chloe, that's a red flag right there." Sam said.
"So did Adrien. What could be different now?" Tikki asks.
"Well…this place is different than back home. I gotta look out for Marinette or it effects the team." Sam said.
"And becayse you care for her?" Tikki asks making him blush.
"What? No I-I…stop messing with me Tikki." Sam glares making her giggle.
"Alright, alright but Sam, I'm gonna tell you the same thing I told Marinette about Adrien. You can't just wait around and expect things to go well. You gotta be willing to make the first move." Tikki said.
"First move huh?" Sam said lost in thought.
In Marinette's room, she was doing some design sketches.
"Wow, Marinette you're good." Faang said.
"Thanks Faang, at least I'm able to hang onto some things I enjoyed from my old life." Marinette said when Faang noticed one sketch looked familiar.
"Is that...Adrien?" Faang asks.
"Is it? Oh uh wow what a coincidence." Marinette said nervously.
"Hey Marinette, I know it's not any of my business but how did you get a crush on Adrien?" Faang asks.
"Do you promise not to tell?" Marinette asks.
"I promise." Faang nods.
"When I first met Adrien I thought he was some snotty rich kid like Chloe but one rainy day he and I talked and I realized he was just as nervous as I was about starting school. I realized Adrien was actually really nice to be around. And when he gave me his umbrella I guess I saw him in a whole new light." Marinette sighs.
"Wow, and here I thought you just had a crush on him because he was cute." Faang said.
Before Marinette could respond her phone rang and the caller ID showed it was Diana.
"Hey Diana what's up?" Marinette asks.
"What is up is that there is a supervillain attacking the city. Mr. Freeze is causing trouble. Alert Sam to the news and hurry." Diana said on the other line.
Gasping Marinette got up and ran to Sam's room.
"We got trouble." Marinette said.
"How bad?" Sam asks when they heard a noise echo from the window.
Running to the window they saw a building with ice spreading all over it.
Cringing the two humans and kwamis were not liking this.
"That bad." Marinette points.
"Oh man I really wish we had Asteria prep for our ice transformation." Faang said.
"You guys can do what?" Sam asks looking at them.
"It's a special kind of kwami transformation." Tikki said.
"You're just telling us this now?" Marinette said.
"We didn't have a guardian before. Kwamis are forbidden to know how to do it on their own." Tikki said.
Quickly putting dummies in the beds, both of them made their way to the roof.
"Alright now or never. Tikki, Spots on!" Sam said as his earrings glowed.
As he transformed into Mister Bug, a red mask appeared on his face, a red and black spotted headband came around his head, a black super suit jumpsuit with red and black spotted pads for his chest, arms, legs and the yoyo appeared around his waist.
"Faang, Teeth Out!" Marinette said as her bracelet glowed.
A silver mask appeared on her face as her hair hung down like a ponytail, a tight silver bodysuit with black highlights, silver bangles and her sword strapped to her back.
"Whoa, I feel wild." Lady Claw said looking at herself.
"This is a different feeling than Faang." Mister Bug said looking at himself.
"I hope we can pull this off." Lady Claw said.
"Right. In the meantime, we better go meet up with the others." Mister Bug said.
Leaping off the roof, they ran along the rooftops.
On the roofs alongside them they saw Wonder Woman, Green Lantern, Bumble Bee, Supergirl and Zatana running to the same destination.
"There they are!" Lady Claw said as they leaped over.
"Hey girls glad to see we could make it." Mister Bug said surprising them.
"Wait…Sam? Y-You're Ladybug?" Green Lantern said.
"It's Mister Bug actually." He corrects.
"And that would make you." Supergirl turns to Lady Claw.
"Lady Claw." She declares.
"Wow, gotta say guys you really pull them off." Zatanna said impressed. "Seriously love it."
"Where's Batgirl?" Mister Bug asks.
"She had to wait for her dad to fall asleep, she says she'll meet us there. Hopefully." Wonder Woman said.
"You two gonna be able to keep up? I mean do you even know how to use these Miraculous?" Bumblebee asks.
"I think I can figure it out. Check it out." Reaching an edge, Mister Bug unclips his yoyo.
Spinning it around like Ladybug did he pulled back to throw it but the string went around Lady Claw's sword handle.
When he threw it Lady Claw was thrown into him as both heroes screamed plummeting to the ground.
Yelping Supergirl grabbed the yoyo before they hit the ground.
"I gotcha!" Supergirl said.
"Are you both okay?!" Green Lantern calls out.
Looking down they saw Lady Claw and Mister Bug tied up together in the yoyo with their faces inches from each other.
"Shoulda practiced." Lady Claw glared.
"You make throwing this thing look easy." Mister Bug cringed.
"Next time try aiming before throwing." Lady Claw said.
"Noted. Sorry." Mister Bug said as Supergirl pulled them both up.
"You two sure you wanna do this. Babs has told us many times how dangerous these Gotham villians are." Zatanna asks.
"Asteria told us to train with the others Miraculous. We have to try." Lady Claw said.
"Besides, you guys can't bench your team leaders." Mister Bug points out.
Drawing her sword, Lady Claw grips it tight.
"I've always wondered how I would do with one of these." Lady Claw said.
"Hopefully you'll figure it out." Mister Bug said as ice spread from the bottom level almost all the way to the top. "And fast."
Nearby Batgirl was scrambling to get there as well.
Firing a zipline, she zips across the roof tops and smashes in through a window taking a fighting stance.
"What did I miss?" Batgirl asks looking around to see no one else was there. "Did I get here first?"
Suddenly a cold chill enterd the room as ice appeared around her.
Entering the room, Mr. Freeze aimed his freeze ray at her.
"Why the cold reception?" Mr. Freeze glares.
"What are you doing in Metropolis, Freeze?" Batgirl asks.
"Metropolis has something I needed." Reaching into his coat, Mr. Freeze pulled out a chip and attached it to his freeze ray. "I'd like to see you take me on all by yourself now."
"What makes you think she's by herself?"
Bursting into the room, Mister Bug, Lady Claw, Wonder Woman, Supergirl, Green Lantern, Zatanna, and Bumblebee stood alongside Batgirl.
"What took you so long?" Batgirl smiles.
"Sorry new suits take some time to adjust." Lady Claw said.
"All right Freeze. We're giving you one chance. Turn yourself in or else." Mister Bug threatens.
"Such a cold attitude. I think you need to chill out." Aiming his freeze ray, Mr. Freeze fires forcing them to jump out of the way.
"Batgirl you're from Gotham, what do you know about this guy?" Lady Claw asks.
"Mr. Freeze is one of Batman's biggest enemies. All his ice gear comes from his suit and if he wanted tech here, I bet it's a lot better." Batgirl said.
"Don't you mean colder?" Supergirl jokes.
"Not the time Supergirl." Wonder Woman said.
Swinging her lasso, Wonder Woman wraps it around Mr. Freeze's arm and yanks him in, but Mr. Freeze counters with a blast of ice making a wall appear in between them.
Leaping over it, Lady Claw slams her sword down but Freeze dodges and punches her in the face.
Growling Lady Claw swings again but Mr. Freeze dodges making her overdo it and fall backwards.
"You call that using a sword?" Mr. Freeze mocks.
Aiming his freeze ray at her Lady Claw gulps when Zatanna made a portal under her and falls through just before the attack hit making Lady Claw end up next to her.
"That was close." Zatanna said.
"Too close." Lady Claw agrees turning to Mister Bug. "How do you use this thing?"
"A sword is more than just swinging it around. You gotta make your attacks count." Mister Bug said.
Flying in, Bumblebee fires multiple shots at Mr. Freeze.
Cringing he swings his arm trying to swat her away when Batgirl throws Batarrangs hitting his glass helmet making it crack.
Swinging his arm, Freeze swats Bumblebee away making her hit the ground.
Firing a blast of ice at them, Supergirl jumps in and uses her heat vision melting it in a cloud of steam.
"Oh no." Freeze gasps.
"Ha! Looks like I just turned up the heat on your plans Freeze." Supergirl mocks.
"A momentary setback." Freeze said adjusting the buttons.
Throwing his yoyo, Mister Bug wraps it around his arm and yanks Mr. Freeze to the opposite side of the room resulting in ice being fired everywhere.
Yelping Green Lantern made a wall in front of them to block the attack, but the attack was so uncontrolled it pierced through and froze Bumblebee.
"Bumblebee!" Green Lantern gasps catching her before she hit the ground.
"How dare you turn one of our own into ice! You shall suffer for this cruelty!" Wonder Woman draws her sword.
Acting quickly, Freeze made a wall of ice forcing Wonder Woman to smash through it.
He continued his fire, but Green Lantern made a shield around Wonder Woman to protect her.
"You'll have to do better than that." Green Lantern said.
Leaping in, Lady Claw and Zatanna attacked Freeze with a double kick making him tumble into the next room.
"After him!" Lady Claw said as they ran out.
Looking around the building they noticed Freeze jump down to the lobby where a giant fountain was.
"You cannot escape us Mr. Freeze!" Wonder Woman said.
"Who said I was escaping?" Mr. Freeze asks aiming his freeze ray up at them.
When he fired, they all jumped down to the lower level but the blast ended up freezing the stairs above them making them crumble.
"Look out!" Green Lantern yells as they struggle to dodge the falling debris.
Using this chance, Freeze fired another blast hitting Green Lantern freezing her into a statue.
"No!" Batgirl gasps.
Leaping in Wonder Woman caught her and Batgirl caught the still frozen Bumblebee.
Firing multiple blasts Freeze froze Wonder Woman and Batgirl while they were preoccupied making half the team out of commission.
As the ceiling above began to crumble more came down towards the frozen heroes.
"Supergirl, Zatanna save them!" Mister Bug yells.
Flying in Supergirl catches the rubble before it came down on their frozen friends while Zatanna uses her powers to make a barrier around them, but as the rubble piles up the two girls found themselves unable to save her friends and stop the rubble at the same time.
"G-Guys! I'm stuck!" Supergirl cringed.
"We can't move!" Zatanna cringed.
"Girls!" Lady Claw gasps seeing it was down to just them. "Any ideas?"
"Just one. Lucky charm!" Mister Bug throws his yoyo into the air and from it, a hairdryer appeared. "A hairdryer?"
"Uh I think we're gonna need more warmth than that in order to melt all this ice." Lady Claw gestures.
Looking around Mister Bug tried to find a way to win when he saw it.
"I got an idea. Use Moon Call." Mister Bug said pointing up. "Aim it right at Supergirl."
Not sure what he was doing Lady Claw nodded.
"Moon Call!" As her bracelet glowed Lady Claw took a deep breath before pointing her head up.
Releasing the sonic howl, it blasted the rubble off Supergirl and Zatanna allowing Supergirl to grab their frozen friends and fly out before the rubble came down towards them.
"Zatanna I need you!" Mister Bug yells causing her to grin.
Crashing to the ground the impact created a cloud of dust knocking Freeze to the ground and his Freeze Ray out of his hands.
As the dust began to clear, Freeze looked everywhere for his weapon when he noticed it on the ground.
Leaping at it, Freeze aimed it at Lady Claw and Mister Bug.
"Not bad, but not good enough." Freeze said.
Flicking the switch he expected them to freeze but nothing happened.
"Huh?" Looking at his weapon he gasps seeing it wasn't his freeze ray but Mister Bug's hairdryer.
"Looking for this?" Mister Bug asks holding the Freeze Ray in his hands.
"What? How?" Freeze gasps.
"Swapped in the middle of that confusion." Zatanna said revealing a small portal above her hand meaning she used her magic to swap the weapons.
Using this opening Mister Bug throws his yoyo tying Mr. Freeze up.
Yanking him in, Mister Bug nails him in the gut knocking the wind out of him.
"All yours Lady Claw." Mister Bug grins jumping back.
Grinning Lady Claw draws her sword and charges in.
Swinging it with all her might Lady Claw slashes Mr. Freeze destroying a chunk of his suit.
Holding out her hands, Zatanna blasts Mr. Freeze destroying more of it.
"Did you really think something like that could stop me?" Mr. Freeze asks.
"No, but this might. Now Supergirl!" Lady Claw yells.
Flying in from behind her, Supergirl punches Mr. Freeze sending him smashing through the walls before collapsing in a pile of rubble.
"Ha! Nailed him." Supergirl smiles.
"He was so focused on us he didn't even notice you." Mister Bug said.
"Hey uh, you might want to do that Miraculous thing. This place looks like it's seen better days." Supergirl gestures.
"Miraculous Mister Bug!" Mister Bug threw the hairdryer into the air and undid all the damages and thaws their friends from their ice prisons.
"Pound it." Lady Claw, Supergirl, Zatanna and Mister Bug said fist-bumping.
"H-H-Hey…don't leave us hanging." Bumblebee said.
Turning around they saw the other Miraculous Heroes hugging each other for warmth.
"I can't b-b-believe you saved the day without me." Batgirl shivers.
"Sorry Batgirl, I know you wanted to beat Freeze but we were kinda pressed for time." Lady Claw said.
"Let's get you girls something warm, shall we?" Mister Bug suggests.
Nodding their heads vigorously they made their way out.
The next day, Marinette was looking at Felix down the hall with interest.
"I shouldn't do this. It's too weird." Marinette said.
"Come on Marinette, you'll never know until you try." Faang said.
"Yeah…you're right." Marinette said.
Taking a deep breath, she walks over to him.
"Hey uh Felix was it?" Marinette said getting his attention.
"Yeah, what's it to you?" Felix asks.
"Well I was the new kid earlier so I know what it's like. So if you wanted to hang out you know." Marinette said nervously.
"That's cute, you think I actually need help." Felix said surprising her. "Maybe I would need help if I was a pathetic lonely loser. Which I'm guessing you were."
"What well I uh…" Marinette stutters when Chloe sees her and smirks.
"Oh my god were you actually trying to hang out with Felix?" Chloe mocks before laughing.
"Yeah no offense but not a chance." Felix smirks making Marinette feel so embarrassed and humiliated.
Not being able to take it anymore Sam slams his locker and storms over.
"Hey!" Sam said getting their attention. "What's your problem? She was trying to be nice."
"Nice more like desperate. Honestly, I've seen this kind of girl all over the place. Taken in by a cute face and turned into pathetic stuttering messes. It's hilarious." Felix said.
"You'd be lucky to meet a girl like Marinette." Sam said surprising her. "She's amazing and frankly if you can't see that you're an idiot Felix and so the rest of the company you keep."
"Is that right?" Felix glares.
"You bet it is, so watch your step." Sam glares.
As Sam and Marinette walk away Felix and Chloe glare at them.

Leading her outside, Marinette and Sam sit on a bench.
"He may look like Adrien but he sure doesn't act like him." Marinette sighs.
"Yeah Adrien is WAY better than that guy." Sam said.
Looking over, Sam sees Marinette still frowning.
"Hey don't frown like that." Sam said.
"I messed up with Felix just like I messed up around Adrien." Marinette said.
"Felix is the idiot. You're great." Sam said.
"You're just saying that." Marinette said.
"I mean it, look Marinette you've had my back since we showed up here and all the back to when I moved. You're a great person and any guy would be lucky to date you. You're nice, sweet, loyal to the end, I don't know if you'll find Adrien here but I know you'll meet someone." Sam smiles making her blush.
"Thanks Sam." Marinette smiles.
"He's not the only one who thinks that." Faang said. "You're an awesome partner Marinette."
"I can second that." Tikki smiles.
"See? You're amazing and we all think it." Sam said.
Giggling Marinette felt a million times better. "Thanks guys."
"In fact I know a whole team of people who also think that." Sam said.
"Okay, okay I think I'm good in the cheering up department." Marinette smiles.
"So Marinette, we still have a few days left of this swap. Think you can give me some yoyo tricks?" Sam asks.
"As long as you show me some sword moves." Marinette offers.
"Deal." Sam said as they shook hands.
"Hey Sam. Thanks." Marinette smiles.
"No problem." Sam said.
Suddenly the clouds around them started to darken and raindrops came down.
"Oh no, I forgot my umbrella." Marinette groans.
"Uh well. If you don't mind." Sam took out his. "You can share with me."
Smiling Marinette moves close to him but when she did the umbrella closed down on them.
Lifting it up both Sam and Marinette couldn't help but laugh.
"Hey how about we hit Sweet Justice on the way home? The sky's the limit as long as it's under 7 bucks." Sam suggests.
"Yes, I would love that." Marinette smiles as they head back.
Marinette may not have gotten the boy she wanted but she certainly got someone looking at her now.
