Chapter 17: Frozen Out
Hey everyone I'm back with a new chapter. Now I know I'm a little early but I wanted to get this special holiday chapter out in time for the holidays and my 2 year anniversary of when I first created this story. It's Christmas time in Metropolis, as snow as falling from the sky and school was just letting out.
"Whoo! Oh yeah Winter Break!" Kara cheers.
In the hallway, all of them were loading up their backpacks.
"Those midterms were not easy." Karen said.
"I'll say but now I can enjoy nothing but holiday fun. I've already been invited to quite a few parties." Zee smiles.
"Ooh I hope my dad got me that new Batman accessory I've been dropping hints for." Babs squeals.
"I am confused, what is this Christ-Mas?" Diana asks pronouncing it wrong.
"It's Christmas, Diana. It's a holiday where you spend time with your loved ones." Jessica lists.
"Get tons of presents." Babs smiles.
"Eat tons of food." Kara smiles.
"Go to tons of events." Zee smiles.
"Or even just stay alone by the fire and enjoy some holiday quiet." Karen said.
"Sounds nice. I wonder what activities Asteria and I will do together?" Diana asks.
At their lockers, Sam and Marinette couldn't help but wonder what they would do since they weren't with their families anymore.
"Hey Sam! Marinette!" Looking down the hall, they saw Virgil waving at them as he walked over.
"Hey Virgil what's up?" Sam asks.
"Listen I need a favor. There's a big event at the homeless shelter for Christmas and since you two are staying at that bakery I was wondering if you guys would be willing to volunteer and help with the food?" Virgil asks.
"Sure we'll ask if they can help." Marinette said.
"Call me if they say yes." Virigil said walking away.
"You know that's real nice of Virgil, wanting to do all that for others." Tikki said popping her head out.
"Man has my respect." Faang nods.
That night at the bakery, Tikki and Faang were watching Sam and Marinette in the kitchen.
"Okay Sam now roll the cake like this." Marinette said rolling it all the way and making a Yule Log.
Slowly Sam copied her and it came out just like hers.
"Nailed it." Sam smiles proudly.
"Well look at you, you're becoming quite the baker." Marinette giggles.
"I have a pretty good teacher." Sam said.
"Well time for the fun part." Marinette said taking out frosting and powdered sugar.
As they both started decorating Marinette hit the powdered sugar making some go on Sam's arm.
"Hey." Sam smirks.
"Oops sorry." Marinette said when she sees Sam grabbing a scrapper with frosting on it. "No Sam don't you dare! No!"
Before Marinette could finish Sam flicks it at her and the frosting hit her in the face.
"Payback she is truly is a bitch." Sam laughs.
"Oh it's on." Marinette said grabbing her own frosting scrapper and flings it nailing him.
As the two engaged in a little frosting duel, Tikki and Faang were watching this and laughing.
"Boy those two are really having fun." Faang chuckles.
"Yeah Sam and Marinette really look cute together." Tikki said.
"I'll admit when I was with Marinette she seemed to talk about Sam quite a bit." Faang said.
"So did Sam when I was with him. Maybe we should help them?" Tikki suggests.
"You really think so?" Faang asks.
"It's the holidays Faang, something like this is just what they need." Tikki assures when they heard footsteps.
Quickly hiding behind some furniture, they see Miranda and Vincent walk in.
"Hey you two know you're cleaning that up!" Miranda said making them stop.
"Sorry we uh we got a little carried away." Sam stutters.
"We made this for you." Marinette said as they held out the Yule Log.
"Oh wow, that looks delicious." Vincent smiles.
"My parents and I would make these every year." Marinette said.
"Well we're very grateful we're getting one." Miranda giggles.
"Sam you have any holiday traditions with your family?" Marinette asks.
"Just the normal stuff, although we loved singing songs around this time of year." Sam admits.
"No way, me too." Marinette said.
"Ooh maybe I should join in the singing." Vincent smiles.
"Oh no you won't. You can't sing." His wife teases.
"Honey not in front of Sam and Marinette." He groans when suddenly the lights shut off startling them.
Yelping Marinette and Sam briefly hugged before letting go blushing.
"Uh what happened?" Sam asks.
"I paid the bill this month." Miranda said as Marinette looked out the window.
"The whole block is black." Marinette said.
"This isn't good, if the powers out this will be a cold night." Vincent said worried.
Looking to each other, Sam and Marinette knew they better look into this.
A few minutes later, Silver Claw and Ladybug were running across the rooftops and saw dozens of houses were without power.
"This snow isn't near strong enough to cause all this." Ladybug said.
"Hey Silver Claw!" Looking up they saw Static flying towards them.
"Static, long time man." Silver Claw said.
"You hear to investigate the power outage?" Ladybug asks.
"I heard the radio waves apparently the substation is buried under ice." Static said.
"Well that explains a lot." Supergirl said flying in.
"Supergirl?" Ladybug said surprised.
"I was about to dig in when all the lights went out. Let's get this over with so I can get home." Supergirl said not wasting any time.
At the substation they arrive to see multiple workers in front of the station that was covered in ice.
"Whoa how did this happen?" Silver Claw asks worried.
"We don't know. It just came out of nowhere. Unless we get a sudden heat wave it'll take us a week to hack through this." A worker said.
"A week? Ha I can get it done in way less." Supergirl said.
"With me we can cut that time in half." Static said cracking his knuckles.
"Give them some room everyone." Ladybug said as she and Silver Claw moved everyone back.
Using this electric powers and heat vision, the two heroes got to work melting all the ice in no time.
"Phew stick a fork in me. I'm done." Static said tired.
"Whoa what's with you?" Supergirl asks.
"I need to recharge." Static said when giant blocks of ice began raining down.
"Look out!" Swinging his sword, Silver Claw leaps up and slashes the ice away.
"Supergirl grab Static and get him out of here!" Ladybug yells as the two heroes used their weapons to slash the ice away.
"Come on Sparky." Supergirl said helping him up.
Leading him to a generator Static touched it and managed to get his powers back.
"Oh yeah!" Static grins as they helped destroy all the ice that came down.
"Alright villain! Come out where we can see you!" Supergirl calls out.
"Hey." A voice calls out. Turning to it they saw a homeless girl in worn out winter wear. "Got any change."
"That poor girl." Ladybug mumbles.
"Sorry but we're kinda busy. Now isn't a good time." Supergirl said flying away.
Frowning the three other heroes took off to make sure the villain didn't get away.
"Not a good time, no. Never a good time." The homeless girl frowns walking away.
The next day, Sam and Marinette were at a café getting drinks.
Sitting down at a booth, both of them looked out the window.
"That was a bit of a scare yesterday." Sam said as Marinette just seemed to stare. "Marinette? Hey Marinette you okay?"
"Huh? Oh yeah sorry. I was just thinking about that girl we saw. She looked younger than us." Marinette frowns.
"How do you think something like that happens?" Tikki asks popping her head out.
"When I grew up in New York we saw quite a few homeless. There's a lot of reasons, all sad." Sam frowns.
"Just think, if we hadn't met our friends and they didn't find us some foster parents we could have been like that girl." Marinette realized.
"Yeah, you're right." Sam realized.
"Maybe that girl just needs the right help then." Tikki said getting their attention.
"What do you mean Tikki?" Marinette asks.
"Well it's like you said you had friends to help you and Sam maybe that's exactly what that girl needs. People there to help her." Tikki said.
"Yeah like Virgil's homeless shelter thing." Faang recalls.
"You're right Tikki." Marinette said.
"Maybe we can help after all." Sam smiles seeing where they were going with this.
Suddenly their phone rang revealing Kara.
"Hey Kara what's up?" Sam asks.
"Guys stop what you're doing and get down to the mall right now. I'm gonna be helping light the Christmas Tree today!" Kara cheers.
"Whoa you mean right now?" Sam said surprised as Zee took the phone.
"Sorta, they wanted Superman but he had plans so they asked Supergirl. Can you guys come?" Zee asks.
Looking to Marinette they both knew how big this was for Kara to be taken seriously.
"Alright we'll be right there." Sam said hanging up.
"Come on we better hurry." Marinette said as they took their drinks to go.
But just before they stood up Tikki nudged inside Marinette's purse making her hand move on top of Sam's making them touch.
Pausing both looked at each other and blushed softly.
"Uh sorry, c-clumsy me." Marinette stutters.
"It's cool." Sam said as they made their way out.
Running down one direction they didn't notice Blue Lantern flying through the air holding a Christmas gift.
"Oh man I can't believe I got the last one." Blue Lantern smiles when from across the sky Star Sapphire had her own wrapped gift.
"I hope this is the one they meant." She grins when the two lanterns stopped across. "Blue Lantern." She glares.
"Oh great, it's Green Lantern's stalker, the Lovesick Lantern." Blue Lantern glares.
"It's Star Sapphire and you know it!" She points.
"Look it's Christmas and I have a lot on my plate so why don't we just skip the part where I kick your butt and you go back to trying to enjoy Christmas all alone." Blue Lantern said.
"Hardly, for your information I was invited to Christmas morning. There's a new man in my life." Star Sapphire said.
"Oh really? Is he blind, deaf and desperate?" Blue Lantern said.
Growling Star Sapphire puts her gift in a safe she made with her ring and Blue Lantern does the same with his gift.
"Get ready because I'm dreaming of a red Christmas." Star Sapphire said creating a bow and arrow.
"Let me guess, with your imaginary date?" Blue Lantern mocks making a brick wall to deflect them.
Making an opening Blue Lantern creates a machine gun and fires making her dodge.
"Wow you are such a gentleman. I feel sorry for whatever dumb girl would go out with you!" She counters.
As the two fired multiple bullets and arrows one attack bounced off each other and hit their safes causing the barriers around their gifts to disappear.
"My gift!" Yelping both dived down but ended up catching the other's present.
Locking eyes, both saw they were in a lock.
"You give me mine, I'll give you yours." Blue Lantern said.
"Don't try anything funny." Star Sapphire glares.
"That's my line and you know it." Blue Lantern said as they slowly exchanged presents.
Both were about to attack when they heard the bell ring meaning it was noon.
"What? Already? Ugh I don't have time for this!" Both groaned before turning to each other.
"You got lucky today." Star Sapphire said as they flew off in opposite directions.
"Man I gotta get this home before getting to the mall." Blue Lantern mumbles.
An hour later, Sam and Marinette arrive at the mall to see Zee and Kara nearby with Zee waving to them.
"You guys made it." Zee smiles.
"Of course we would." Sam smiles.
"Hey Kara, I thought you hated shopping." Marinette recalls.
"I do, but I love watching the idiots who put off all their shopping to the last minute." Kara said watching a man struggle with his huge stack of boxes. "I'm so in the Christmas Spirit right now I'm not even gonna call him out on it."
"Wow who are you and what have you done with Kara Danvers?" Turning around they saw Virgil and Aaron walking over.
"Hey Aaron, Merry Christmas." Marinette said.
"Thanks Marinette and FYI Kara I had to do some last-minute shopping myself. I had to get this toy for my little brother." Aaron said.
"Hey if you guys have time Zee's helping with the tree lighting soon." Sam said.
"Sure sounds fun." Virgil nods when Aaron sees something.
"Oh man look at that." Aaron said spotting that homeless girl from last night.
"She's so young." Zee frowns.
'Wait a second.' Sam, Marinette, Kara and Virgil, all instantly recognized her.
"Uh hey Aaron maybe you can help me with something first." Vigril said pulling him away.
Seeing this chance, the 4 heroes looked to each other.
In the store, the homeless girl was looking at a glass Christmas Angel.
"Please don't touch." A store clerk said.
"It's so beautiful." She said pulling her hand back.
"Yes it is. Now run along, I don't think you belong here." The man touches her shoulder but almost instantly ice covers his hand making him and the other shoppers panic.
"N-No I-I I don't belong. I don't belong anywhere!" She yells creating a giant blizzard.
As she ran through the mall she ended up freezing everything around her.
Freezing the Christmas tree, it wobbled towards the civilians.
Flying in Supergirl punched it making the ice shatter.
"This is not how I pictured holiday shopping." Zatanna said using her magic to blast the ice before it hit the ground or people.
Flying in, Static and Blue Lantern bring all the civilians to the upper floors.
"Man does evil ever take a holiday?" Blue Lantern asks.
"This isn't evil, buddy. This is something worse." Static said.
Swinging in, Ladybug grabs some shoppers and Silver Claw smashes the ice opening the door.
"Attention Shoppers it's time to go!" Silver Claw calls out.
In the back, the homeless girl heard his call and flinched.
"I won't go. I can't. I won't!" The girl yells.
"Mommy." Turning around the girl saw a young girl and her mother huddled nearby. "What's gonna happen?"
"It's okay. I won't let anything hurt you." Her mother assures.
Gasping a memory came back to the homeless girl.
Flashback:
In it we see a younger version of her with her mother who looked very sick.
As she was decorating the tree, her mother pulled out a glass angel.
However that happy moment was ruined as a dark silhouette of a man entered the room.
Growling he walks past her and instantly her mother started to cough a lot.
"Mama!" The girl gasps.
Soon an ambulance came and the girl watched her mom get taken away.
"I'm with child services." A woman in a suit said approaching her.
"No!" Instantly the girl tried to run but she slipped and the angel broke upon hitting the ground.
Flashback End:
Seeing the sad mother and daughter, the homeless girl made a run for it, leaving.
As the 6 heroes cleared out the last of the civilians they see the ice had stopped and everyone was gone, even her.
"This is why I do my shopping online." Static groans.
"So what did the Little Ice Girl take?" Blue Lantern asks.
"That's the thing, she didn't take anything. She just came in, made some ice and ran." Silver Claw noticed.
"But why? What's the point of all this?" Zatanna asks.
"I don't know but I think we might need to find her and fast." Ladybug said.
"Say no more." Supergirl flew out and on the highway she spotted the girl running through it creating a huge snowstorm blinding everyone.
"Man this girl is really making these holidays a pain." Static said as they raced after Supergirl.
On the highway, the homeless girl was mumbling to herself.
"Not my fault. Not my fault." She mumbles.
"Hey!" Racing after her, the 6 teens catch up with the girl.
"You got a name?" Silver Claw asks.
"The voices in the dark, they call me something. Permafrost." She declares.
"Well Permafrost, you need to stop this now." Blue Lantern said.
"Please just come with us." Static offers a hand but instantly Perma saw the Child Service lady in her place.
"No!" She yells making a run for it.
"Stop wait!" Zatanna yells but Permafrost uses her powers to race through the highway and keep them away.
"Please we just want to help!" Ladybug yells.
"Then leave me alone!" Perma yells.
As Silver Claw followed close she fires icicles making him stagger back.
They were about to gain on her when a gas truck blocked their path.
Supergirl was about to fly over when a large shadow appeared over them.
Coming to a stop the 6 heroes see a giant tidal wave of snow come down on top of them.
"Man I hate this." Supergirl groans as they were all buried alive.
As Permafrost made her escape, there was glow where she froze the heroes.
Seconds later, Supergirl blasted them a way out with her heat vision but they were all freezing cold.
"S-Some weather we're having." Static shivers.
"I am g-gonna get that kid." Supergirl shivers.
"I-Is everyone alright?" Blue Lantern asks.
Behind them Silver Claw, Ladybug and Zatanna were huddled behind them
"You girls okay?" Silver Claw asks.
"I'll live." Ladybug said getting up. "Which way did Permafrost go?"
"I saw her go in that direction." Silver Claw points to an old worn down building.
Making their way to it, they saw it was an old car repair depot.
"Wow this place looks like it's seen better days." Zatanna cringed as Static and Blue Lantern made lights.
Entering they saw it was filled with garbage and trash fires.
As Silver Claw walked forward he stepped on a pile of newspapers when a homeless man emerged from it.
"Go away! Leave me alone!" He snaps startling them.
"It's alright we're just looking for someone." Silver Claw said.
"Everyone here keeps to themselves." The man said going back to his pile.
"Everyone?" Ladybug asks.
"Get out!"
"Leave us alone!" Emerging out of piles of garbage the 6 heroes gasped seeing all the homeless people.
"Oh man." Supergirl cringed not expecting this.
"We're trying to find a girl, Permafrost. About this tall, light blue skin." Zatanna explains.
"It's not that hard to miss." Static said but they all looked away.
"I know her." Walking up to them was a homeless woman who had a baby tied to her back with a shirt and a young girl holding her hand. "Follow me."
Looking at the little girl, Silver Claw couldn't help but frown.
"She's not bad, she just has problems. In here." The mother said pointing to her head.
Making their way to the back they all froze in their tracks.
"Oh my god." Ladybug mumbles.
Walking in they saw an entire area covered in ice. Beds, a dresser, even items all made out of ice, all but one thing.
Making his way to an ice angel, Silver Claw noticed a picture frame with half a picture in it.
"What's this?" Picking up the frame it immediately broke upon touch leaving him with only the picture.
"What'cha got there?" Static asks as they looked at it.
"Possibly a way to help Permafrost." Silver Claw said.
As they made their way out Zatanna looks at the mother and chanted a spell turning the shirt into a baby carrier.
"Think of this as our way of saying thank you for helping us." Zatanna said.
"Thank you, if only more people were like you kids." She smiles as they left the depot.
Looking at the picture, Silver Claw tucked it away before heading to the tree lighting.
Little did they know Permafrost was hiding behind some ice and was glaring daggers at the Wolf Hero.
On the roofs, the heroes were on a video chat with Batgirl, Green Lantern, Bumblebee and Wonder Woman in open windows so Blue Lantern and Static didn't know their identities.
"Thanks for helping on such short notice girls" Static said.
"No prob, but I don't have much time." Batgirl said
"Alright have any of you seen this girl before?" Silver Claw asks showing them the picture.
"Wait I have." Green Lantern gasps. "That's Maureen Conner. She used to come to the shelter where I volunteered at for a meal, but I haven't seen her in a year."
"Hang on a second." Using this Bumblebee and Batgirl looked into the name and gasped.
"What's up?" Static asks.
"Says here her mom died a few years but her stepfather wanted nothing to do with her." Bumblebee starts.
"Eventually she ended up on the streets." Batgirl finished.
"Oh my hera." Wonder Woman gasps along with the rest of them.
"To lose a parent at such a young age." Blue Lantern frowns along with the other 5.
"No wonder she's like this." Supergirl said.
"Unfortunately, lots of police reports have similar notes. This stuff is happening all over the city Probably all over the country." Batgirl said.
"What kind of parent pushes away their own family?" Silver Claw asks.
"Horrible kinds." Zatanna mumbles.
"But how do we deal with her?" Static asks.
"She's not a villain, she's just a scared little girl. We need to be smart about this." Ladybug said.
"But how are we even gonna get close to her? She'll freeze us." Silver Claw reminds.
"Wonder Woman, can you see if Protector can help us in anyway?" Ladybug asks.
"I am on it." Wonder Woman nods logging off.
In her apartment, Diana looked to see Asteria hard at work.
"Can you get this done for them in time?" Diana asks.
"Don't worry, I've been studying this book for centuries." Asteria said mixing tons of ingredients into a pot. "Besides, I've been meaning to make these Miraculous Power-Ups anyway. This'll be like my Christmas gift to them."
Filling two small beakers, Asteria handed them to Wayzz.
"Fly to the main tree as fast as you can." Asteria instructs.
"Right away." Wayzz nods flying out.
"Wait why didn't you send me?" Diana asks.
"If what they said is true Diana your armor is not meant for the cold. Nor would the rest of your friends be of any help." Asteria said.
"I suppose." Diana frowns.
"A good warrior knows when to fight but also when to stand down. Besides we have a much urgent assignment now." Asteria said getting Diana's attention.
"What?" Diana asks.
"We have to make sure this girl and the people like her get the help they need." Asteria said.
At the town square, Sam and Marinette were given the beakers by Wayzz as Faang and Tikki floated nearby.
"These forms will help you both fight the cold." Wayzz said.
"Thanks Wayzz." Marinette said taking them.
"Bottoms up you two." Sam said as both kwamis drank the potions.
When they did Tikki and Faang transformed and as Faang's tail turned to ice Tikki's wings turned to stalagmites.
"FrostFaang!"
"StalagTikki!"
"Okay we make it through this, we are talking to Asteria about these." Sam points making Marinette giggle.
"Agreed. But for now time to transform. StalacTikki, Spots on!" Marinette said as her earrings glowed. Transforming into Ice Ladybug she got a tiara, her suit grew multiple snowflake designs and ice skates appeared on her feet.
"FrostFaang, Teeth Out!" Sam said as his ring glowed. Transforming into Ice Silver Claw a large snowflake design appeared on his back, light blue patterns ran down his suit towards his skates and his sword had changed to an ice lance.
At the Tree Lighting, Supergirl was up front ready to light it with Zatanna, Static and Blue Lantern nearby.
"Where are they?" Static asks.
"And where's Permafrost?" Blue Lantern asks when both heroes leaped in wearing their new forms.
"Whoa, looks like you guys came prepared." Static whistles.
"Gotta say darling ice is a good look for you." Zatanna said checking Silver Claw out.
"Thanks." Silver Claw said.
"This should help us in case Permafrost shows up." Ladybug said.
"As we come together in this time of year of peace, family and joy we come to the family of our city's hero to help us light the tree." The mayor said gesturing to Supergirl.
"Let's do this thing." Supergirl said cracking her knuckles.
But before she could light the tree a terrible blizzard blew in sending chairs flying everywhere.
As the freezing cold hit the heroes, thanks to their new forms Ladybug and Silver Claw managed to take it while the others had to cringe.
Emerging from the blizzard, Permafrost was glaring them down with glowing eyes.
Roaring Permafrost fires a barrage of stalagmites but Ladybug spins her yoyo knocking them away.
Skating across the ice, Silver Claw swings his lance like a hockey stick as Permafrost makes an ice wall to block him the lance smashes through it.
Flying in Supergirl uses her heat vision but Permafrost counters with an ice blast making a cloud of steam.
Using his ring, Blue Lantern created a giant fan to blow away the steam making Permafrost come out of hiding.
"Niartser reh!" Zatanna said as holiday lights wrapped around her legs.
Spinning her yoyo, Ladybug tries to help hold her down.
"Let me go!" Permafrost yells as icicles rained down on Zatanna forcing her to run for cover as Permafrost breaks free.
Turning to Ladybug she makes a giant ice pillar shoot up under her sending Ladybug tumbling back.
Looking around she spotted Silver Claw and glares.
"You!" Firing a powerful blast of icy wind, it hit Silver Claw making him tumble backwards.
Moving in Permafrost releases another gust but this time Static gets in the way and made an electric barrier around Silver Claw and himself.
"You alright man?" Static asks as Silver Claw stood up.
"Been better." Silver Claw groans as Permafrost approaches tehm.
"Please can we just talk?" Static asks.
"No! He has it! Give it back! It's mine!" Permafrost yells.
"Give what back?" Supergirl asks when Silver Claw gasps.
"Wait are you talking about the photo?" Silver Claw asks when a snow blast hits him in the face. "Maureen stop it! I'll give it back!"
Hearing her name Permafrost gasps stopping her attack.
"Y-You know my name?" She asks.
"We found out from some friends." Zatanna said.
"And they found people who care about you." Blue Lantern said.
"Nobody cares about me!" Permafrost snaps.
"We do. And we wanna help you." Static said.
"Please, we know what you're going through." Silver Claw said.
"How could any of you know what I'm going through?" Permafrost asks.
"Because I lost my mom too." Static frowns.
"Me too." Blue Lantern admits. "Mine died when I was very little."
"Yeah and I lost both my parents a while ago. Along with my whole planet." Supergirl admits.
And even though she couldn't admit it, Zatanna knew what her pain was like. "Look parents can do bad things, and your stepdad h-he was a jerk for not wanting you in his life."
"Because this is my first Christmas without my family." Silver Claw confesses. "Ladybug and I, we're all alone."
"But we found nice people who were there for us. But the pain never goes away. We know that." Ladybug admits.
"Is this why you've been doing all this?" Silver Claw asks handing her the photo back.
"Those families, all happy and warm in their houses. They have no idea how it is out here." Permafrost sniffles. "When you're homeless people look right through you. It's like you're not even there."
"Yeah…we've been guilty of that." Static admits.
"I thought when I got these powers things would be different. They're not." Permafrost said breaking into tears. "I'm more alone than ever."
"Y-You don't have to be." Silver Claw said getting down on his knees to look her in the eyes. "Come with us, Maureen."
Not being able to hold it anymore Maureen hugs Silver Claw close crying into his shoulder.
"We're gonna make sure you'll be okay Maureen." Silver Claw vows.
"All of us." Static nods.
The next morning on Christmas, Vincent and Miranda awoke for breakfast when they saw a note telling them to come down to the bakery.
As they walked in the lights turned on revealing Sam and Marinette with Santa hats on and a decorated bakery filled with garland, treats, streamers and even a little fake tree.
"Merry Christmas!" They both declared.
"W-What is this?" Miranda gasps.
"Well we wanted to say, that we appreciate that you opened your doors to us and we're very grateful for all the help, time, and effort you two have put into helping us live here and feel welcome." Marinette said.
"You've made this bakery a second home for us and we thought it was time we showed you both how much it means to us to be in a nice home with caring people." Sam smiles.
Hearing this, the baker couple couldn't help but tear up slightly and smile.
"Oh come here you two." Vincent said yanking them into a big group hug.
"We love having you both here as well." Miranda smiles.
"Well what are we waiting for? It's Christmas! We have a lot to do!" Vincent declares as he and Miranda went to get ready.
"I hope Maureen's doing well." Marinette said.
"We'll find out when we got volunteer tonight." Sam said.
Little did they know Tikki and Faang had set up the final stage of their plan.
Up above them, Tikki tied a string around a mistletoe before handing it to Faang wrapped it around a thumb tack and jammed it into the wall making the plant drop down right above them.
As Vincent and Miranda walk in fully dressed they giggle.
"Uh oh look who's under the mistletoe." Miranda points.
"Huh?" Looking up both teens saw the mistletoe hanging above them.
"Uh Sam? Did you put that up there?" Marinette asks.
"No, did you?" Sam asks.
"Nope." As both of them looked down at each other both were unsure what to do.
As both kwamis flew down behind the counter, they decided to give their owners the final push. Literally.
Nudging their owners from behind both teens moved in and their lips touched.
Eyes widening both separate with blushes on their faces.
"Wow uh…M-Merry Christmas Marinette." Sam said.
"Y-You too." Marinette said.
"Come on you two lovebirds. We have presents." Vincent teases.
Hearing that title both couldn't deny they kinda liked that.
All over Metropolis, Christmas was happening everywhere.
At Aaron's house, Aaron was nervously waiting as his little brother was eager to open his gifts.
"Jack take it easy, we have to wait for everyone." Aaron's dad said picking him up.
"But why?" Jack asks when they heard the doorbell ring.
"I'll get it." Aaron said going to get it.
Opening the door, Aaron saw Carol in a winter coat and Santa hat.
"Merry Christmas." She smiles.
"Please tell me you found it." Aaron said.
"Yep right here." Carol said holding the gift they were fighting over last night.
"Oh you are the best." Aaron smiles opening the door.
Putting the present down next to Aaron's gift, we reveal both were labeled: To Jack From Santa.
"Who's this young lady?" Aaron's grandmother asked.
"Everyone, this is Carol." Aaron introduced.
"Thanks for inviting me." She smiles.
At Barbara's house, we see Babs hold out a present for her dad.
Opening it, Commissioner Gordon smiles seeing it was a trophy labeled Best Cop/ Dad Ever.
Smiling he handed Babs her gift and when she opened it she gasps seeing it was a new Batman action figure.
Squealing Babs tackles her dad into a big hug.
At Karen's house, we see Karen and her folks building a snowman out back before taking a picture with it.
At Jessica's house, we see Jessica and her moms on the couch watching It's a Wonderful Life.
At Zee's penthouse, we see Giovanni admiring his new Top Hat while Zee was looking at a new dress she got in the mirror and squeals in delight.
At Asteria's house, we see Asteria and Diana sitting by a fire with Wayzz sipping hot chocolate as Asteria showed Diana something.
On it was a young Asteria in her Protector form standing next to a young woman with red hair, armor, and a black and red polka dotted armor. (Google Miraculous Ladybug Ancestor Intervention)
"Is that?" Diana gasps.
"That's your mother when she was Ladybug. She was right about your age when she got those earrings." Asteria said.
"And let me tell you she was much different from the queen you know now." Wayzz said.
"We got into some crazy battles together." Asteria giggles.
"Thank you, I love it." Diana smiles seeing the confident look on her mother's face.
Later that day at the homeless shelter, Maureen slowly walked in but she was different. Her skin was normal and she was wearing warm clothes.
"Maureen." A woman said walking in with a gift. "This was left for you."
"Who's it from?" Maureen asks.
"We don't know." She said handing it to her.
Slowly opening it, Maureen gasps seeing a light blue superhero mask with a note attached to it.
'Incase you ever want to be Permafrost again.' Maureen smiles knowing exactly who it was from.
"Come and get it!" Two voices called out.
As Maureen tucked the mask into her pocket she entered to see Sam, Marinette, Vincent, and Miranda handing out tons of baked goods.
"Slow down, slow down there's enough for everybody." Miranda said.
"No one is leaving this place with an empty stomach." Vincent calls out.
Turning his head, when Sam spots Maureen he smiles.
"Hey you want some?" Sam asks holding out a big piece of cake.
"F-For me?" Maureen asks.
"Who else?" Sam gestures.
Maureen was about to take it when Marinette holds out a mug of hot chocolate.
"I'd recommend having this with it. Tastes really good." Marinette smiles putting tons of whipped cream and marshmallows on.
As Maureen looks at the two of them she felt all warm and fuzzy inside. Like she met them before.
"Thank you." Maureen smiles as she went to enjoy her treats.
"This is nice, the 4 of us should do this every year." Miranda said.
"The 4 of us?" Marinette asks.
"Well you two are going to be here a while aren't you? We thought it might be nice to do this together?" Vincent asks.
"We'd love to." They both said when door opens revealing Virgil who was carrying some boxes.
"Hey you guys made it." Virgil smiles.
"Virgil hey." Marinette smiles.
"What took you?" Sam asks.
"Sorry but I ran into some of our friends who wanted to help out." Virigil said as the sound of carols entered the room.
Entering the first, Karen, Aaron, his little brother Jack and Carol walked in holding a new heater and some warm winter clothes.
"Oh jingle bells, jingle bells jingle all the way. Oh, what fun it is to ride in a one horse open sleigh. Jingle bells, jingle bells. Jingle all the way. Oh, what fun it is to ride in a one horse open sleigh." They sang setting it up.
Near the front of the door a wreath hung above everyone when, Babs leaps in popping her head through the hole. "Deck the halls with boughs of holly." Babs sang holding a cake.
"Fa la la la la, la la la la." Commissioner Gordon said bringing in multiple boxes of doughnuts.
"Tis the season to be jolly." Kara said carrying a whole Christmas Ham and Turkey in her hands.
"Fa la la la la, la la la la." The three of them sang when Kara's Aunt and Uncle popped in behind her carrying lots of sides.
"Don we now our gay apparel." Uncle John and Aunt Martha said putting a Santa hat on Kara making her chuckle. "Fa la la la la, la la la la."
Smiling the homeless watched as they helped set up the dinner table. "Troll the ancient Yuletide carol Fa la la la la, la la la la."
Suddenly multiple puffs of smoke went off and on stage, Zee and her father Giovanni appeared in their magician and assistant outfits.
"It's the most wonderful time of the year with the kids jingle belling." Giovanni waved his wand and multiple chairs lined up for them to sit down and watch.
"And everyone telling you be of good cheer." Zee sang putting a cloth down and when she pulled it back Giovanni's magic trick chest appeared.
"It's the most wonderful time of the year!" They both sang setting off confetti making the homeless and Perma smile.
Entering next Jessica, Diana and Asteria were carrying tons of presents in wagons.
"We wish you a Merry Christmas." Jessica sang.
"We wish you a Merry Christmas." Diana sang.
"We wish you a Merry Christmas and a happy new year." Asteria sang.
Smiling Sam and Marinette shrug as them, Miranda and Victor join in the fun.
"Good tidings we bring to you and your kin. We wish you a merry Christmas and a happy new year." Everyone sang.
From this crazy holiday, the heroes learned that sometimes being a real hero is about being there for people who need it and not looking the other way. Sometimes all it takes is a little time, thought, hard work and care and you can make anyone's holidays Miraculous.
