"It's not going to happen, Bennett magic brought back Damon, Stefan and Lexi, Bennett magic helped bring back Bastien, that's a whole line of witches that can help find other ways to balance the natural order of things. It's stable and protected, and as you know now, I cut off all access to my line and I doubt I have many of them rooting for me at the moment to help if I do disrupt nature in that way" Bonnie continued.
"You could do it though?" Caroline carefully asked.
"There's a lot I can do yes, but there are consequences for these things, and she knows I wouldn't do it anyway" Bonnie bit her lip in thought.
"A fight then, she would be dumb to go up against you, she wouldn't survive it." Caroline placed a finger to her lips in thought.
"Caroline, when we knew we weren't strong enough to go head-to-head with Klaus, we cut off his resources, and made him weak in other ways, a fight between me and her would be too easy...for me. Reach out to our allies and the alumni of this school, and remind them of their loyalties. Let them know about Damon and Stefan and let them know it was Bennett magic that brought them back, not mine. make that clear." Bonnie took another look at her strong, confident friend, and was thankful to have her as her closest ally.
"Bonnie, this also means, you and Bastien have to show a united front for now, you know what that means" Caroline warned.
"I know, I'll be careful –" Before Bonnie could complete her sentence she vanished in front of Caroline's eyes.
"Bonnie!" Caroline exclaimed as she grasped -at thin air.
Damon got to Caroline's office first with Stefan, Lexi, and Lana rushing behind.
Damon, leading the pack, burst through the door, only to find Caroline with a look of bewilderment, staring at Bonnie, who stood with her back to them. Caroline quickly brought her eyes up to Damon's in horror which confused Damon.
"Bonnie, remember, for now, you and Bastien need to present a unified front," Caroline cautioned with an undertone of urgency. "I understand, I'll be on guard—" Bonnie's words were abruptly cut off as she vanished from sight, leaving Caroline grasping at nothing but air.
"Bonnie!" Caroline's voice echoed with a mix of shock and disbelief.
Damon, Stefan, Lexi, and Lana arrived at Caroline's office in a flurry of movement. Damon, leading the pack, burst through the door, only to find Caroline with a look of bewilderment, staring at Bonnie, who stood with her back to them.
Caroline's eyes, wide with alarm, locked onto Damon's, deepening his confusion. "What happened? We heard your scream—" Stefan's inquiry was left hanging as Bonnie turned, causing a visible jolt of surprise.
"Where am I? Why are—" Bonnie's words faltered as she observed the subtle aging in Damon and Stefan's features.
"Is this a dream?" she murmured, her gaze flitting over the puzzled faces of her friends. "Am I..dreaming?" Bonnie asked as she took in her familiar friend's confused faces.
Before Caroline could explain the bizarre sequence of events, Damon interjected with a smirk, "You certainly weren't dressed like that when we last saw you—"
"Bonnie," Stefan interjected with a firm tone, capturing her attention. "What year is it?"
"2010," Bonnie replied defensively, her arms crossing as she pondered the possibility of a trap related to the mysterious coffin her mother had helped open.
Lana looked at Lexi and mouthed "2010? Wtf", Lexi raised her eyebrows in equal shock.
Damon and Stefan shared a weary glance before Stefan revealed the startling truth. "Bonnie, this is going to sound unbelievable, but it's actually 2091, almost 2092. Let me explain."
As Caroline saw panic start to grip Bonnie, she steadied her with a reassuring touch. "Bonnie, you vanished and reappeared in an instant. Can you tell us what you were doing right before this happened?"
"I…you.." Bonnie looked up at Damon who was staring intently at the slightly younger-looking Bennett witch. "You brought me to my bed after something from the coffin magically knocked Abby and me out, you took off my leather jacket and murmured something about creasing it if I slept in it" Bonnie continued, Damon rose his eyebrows and smirked at the memory as he and Stefan both remembered what night she was talking about.
"Esther, it was Esther Mikaelson that was in the coffin" Stefan stated which turned Bonnie's attention from Damon to Stefan.
"That doesn't make sense, this didn't happen back then, why would it be happening now?" Caroline looked up at Damon and Stefan.
"What do you mean back then? If this is truly not a dream and I am in a year 80 years from now, how am I still alive? I know witches can grow into old age but I would hope I would be resting after a long day in a garden, not..this" Bonnie's eyes roved over the unfamiliar faces of Lexi and Lana, her mind racing with questions.
"Let's take her down to the lab and see what may be happening magically, we can get Ash's help, time travel would be more her deal, and, we have to tell Emeline and Bastien, they're going to wonder where Bonnie went," Lana explained as everyone in the room nodded except for Damon who was still watching his witch intently.
Bonnie, absorbing Lana's words, suddenly cast a spell, causing the chandelier to crash down before she bolted from the room.
"Luna! Don't let her leave" Caroline yelled as she slowly got up from the ground, Damon had already vamp-sped after Bonnie.
Bonnie recognized the interior of the place she was in but did not recognize the furniture nor the rooms as she remembered them but still tried to run to the nearest exit she knew of before Bonnie made it to the kitchen door Damon grabbed her and pinned her up against the wall.
Bonnie angrily gave him an aneurysm before Damon could say anything else and ran through the kitchen doors to the backdoor before she was captured in a glass tube by Luna and apparated into the lab.
Stefan and Lexi ran to Damon while Caroline and Lana ran down to the lab.
"Now that's the Bonnie I heard so much about" Lexi gloated as Damon rubbed the side of his hand.
Damon growled as walked past both Stefan and Lexi to make his way down to the lab.
"Caroline, Let me out!" Bonnie yelled as she hit the reinforced glass cell walls.
"Bonnie, for your own good I can't, you are extremely vulnerable without the level of magic you have in this year, we have to figure out what happened, and why" Caroline calmly explained, feeling bad for her friend.
"Caroline, please! You all are depending on me, Abby is depending on me, help me help you send me back or wake me up..please" A defeated Bonnie pleaded as she realized her magic was not strong enough to break the barriers as she tried to incant another spell.
"Those walls are re-enforced by the strongest glass this world has to offer as well as Mikaelson, Bennet-Archambeau, Saltzman magic..not that you would know what half of that even means" Caroline said with a frown.
Bonnie turned her back to Caroline and slid down the wall in defeat to sit on the ground.
Damon, Stefan, and Lexi finally made it down to the lab.
"How is she? She better not be hurt," Damon asked in a stern tone.
"I would never harm my best friend in any year we have known each other" Caroline retorted, offended that Damon would ever imply that she could hurt Bonnie.
"Damon, we need to get Bastien and Emeline here" Stefan calmly stated.
"NO!" Damon yelled in response.
"Give me an hour, just an hour and then maybe we can think about bringing in re-enforcements. I need you all to leave" Damon continued.
Caroline scoffed. "No, absolutely not, Damon, if you don't remember correctly, you are probably one of the last people she would want to be alone with right now, I'm staying" Caroline stood up to face Damon who snarled back at Caroline's statement.
"Damon, she's probably right, she wasn't your biggest fan around this time" Stefan tried to reason.
"Do any of you in this year ever ask me what I would want? Or do you still continue to only address me when my magic is needed to save you or Elena" Bonnie asked still not facing them.
Caroline frowned and let out a sigh.
"No Bonnie, you're right, someone has to be in here to help watch you and see how we can fix this, who would you like to stay for..an hour" Caroline looked up at Damon and rolled her eyes before focusing back on Bonnie.
Bonnie stood up and turned around to place her eyes on Lana.
"You" Bonnie said to a shocked Lana.
"Me? Oh no I..-" Lana anxiously began.
"No…you, there's something about you, and I don't know you, but I feel like I can trust you the most" Bonnie quickly glanced at an upset Damon before glancing back at Lana.
"Deal, one hour..before we come back in" Caroline quickly stated.
"No way! I'm staying, I've already made it clear this time around, that I'm not letting her go and I'll gladly challenge another Gilbert to keep my promise" Damon widened his eyes at Lana, annoyed that it was yet again, Jeremey's bloodline getting in his way.
Bonnie cocked her head to the side as she took in what Damon was saying and his body language as he was saying it. The only times she would see him this worked up was about Elena or Katherine.
"Yeah, definitely her, let her get me up to speed and I'll gladly be on board to get me back where I need to be," Bonnie said sternly to the four vampires.
"Damon" Caroline pleaded as she could tell Damon didn't want to listen to anyone in the room.
Bonnie's green eyes turned to look into Damon's familiar blue eyes, quickly admiring how handsome and manlier he looked in whatever world or time she was in, but also feeling a little exposed to the intensity Damon was displaying regarding her.
Damon finally surrendered as he looked into Bonnie's eyes, respecting her decision, and knowing that this was someone, at any age, who was never going to back down from a challenge between them which is why Damon respected her so much to begin with.
Damon gave Bonnie a warm smile before nodding to himself and walking out the door with Caroline, Stefan, and Lexi following him.
BBBB
Bonnie's gaze swept across the once-beloved bedroom, a wave of nostalgia and disorientation washing over her. She sat up, her heart pounding with a mixture of disbelief and yearning. She knew exactly where she was but was confused about how and when she got there as the room she was in, did not exist anymore.
As she looked around the room her eyes landed on her old cell phone resting on the nightstand. With a flicker of her magic, the phone levitated towards her, an action as instinctive as breathing.
"2010?" she whispered to herself, her voice a mix of awe and confusion. How had she been cast back to this point in time? Why here, why now? The numbers on the phone's screen seemed to mock her with their simplicity, offering no clues to the complex mystery she found herself ensnared in.
Bonnie regarded her cell phone with a mix of irritation and curiosity as Damon's name flashed across the screen. The message, succinct and to the point, read: "Abby is safe, she's in your guest room. Call me when you wake up." The words jolted her back to reality, reminding her of the events of the evening: the release of Esther Mikaelson, a pivotal moment in her life.
A sardonic thought, 'Lucky me,' flitted through Bonnie's mind. The presence of an experienced witch like Esther was serendipitous, given the situation she now faced. She was keenly aware of Adonis's magical signature at the spell's conclusion, but it was the presence of two or three other formidable witches that gnawed at her. Their identities were a mystery, shrouded in uncertainty, leaving Bonnie wary of jumping to dire conclusions. Bonnie knew exactly what she needed to do, and if her memory was correct there was a Mikaelson ball happening the next evening.
The night stretched on, filled with Bonnie's attempts to dissect the spell that had ensnared her. Each foray into deep meditation was thwarted, leaving her increasingly frustrated. Eventually, she succumbed to the need for rest, half-hoping this bizarre experience was merely an elaborate dream.
Bonnie had woken up to missed calls from Stefan, Damon, Caroline, and Elena. A strategic decision took root in her mind – she would not respond. Bonnie understood the delicacy of her situation; any interaction could ripple through time with unforeseen consequences. Her recollection of the original day was filled with minimal contact, a pattern she was determined to maintain. Her resolve was clear: she would navigate this temporal maze and seek out Esther Mikaelson, but only when the time was right, and only alone.
Bonnie delved into the depths of her old teenage closet, searching for attire that could bridge the eighty-year gap to her present-day style. After a thoughtful rummage, she chose a flowing maxi dress paired with an oversized sweater. This ensemble gracefully accommodated her more mature, curvaceous frame, a gentle contrast to her slender eighteen-year-old self. The idea of squeezing into jeans or some of her old tops seemed utterly impractical now.
Turning to her makeup, Bonnie sifted through the nostalgic array of products. She was searching not just for the right shades, but also for a connection to something familiar, something that belonged to her current life. She was determined to avoid using magic for such mundane tasks, wary of attracting any unnecessary attention.
Bonnie opted for a minimalist approach: a dab of light foundation, a swipe of mascara to accentuate her eyes, and a touch of lip gloss for a subtle shine. Running her fingers through her long, soft curls, she teased them into a fuller, more voluminous style.
In a moment of absent-mindedness, Bonnie's magic instinctively responded to a knock at the door. The door swung open without a touch, revealing her mother, Abby. Bonnie inwardly chastised herself for this inadvertent use of magic. She had been so cautious, refusing even to cast a simple glamour spell, fearing that any display of her powers might signal her presence to those she wished to avoid. This small slip was a reminder of the delicate balance she needed to maintain in this unexpected journey through time.
Abby lingered tentatively in the doorway, her eyes widening with a mix of recognition and uncertainty as they fell upon Bonnie. It was unmistakably her daughter sitting there, yet altered. The maturity in Bonnie's features, the slight but distinct nuances that age bestows, rendered her more akin to someone in their mid-twenties rather than the teenager she had been. The transformation was subtle but unmistakable, from her hairstyle to the air of experience that seemed to cloak her.
Bonnie's voice was calm, yet there was an undercurrent of urgency as she began to explain. "I need to be brief. I am Bonnie, your daughter, yet not the Bonnie you know. I believe I've come from the future, or perhaps an alternate timeline. Everything feels off here—the air, the environment. It's subtly different. I've experimented with time travel before, and the Earth's essence always remained familiar. But this," she gestured faintly in the air, her fingers tracing the contours of unseen particles, "this is not the same." Mid-gesture, she halted, a sudden reminder to herself that she needed to curb her magical impulses.
Abby's expression shifted to one of bewildered concern. "Excuse me?" she stammered, a hint of fear creeping into her voice. Was this truly Bonnie, or someone, or something, else entirely?
In response, Bonnie rose from her chair, her movements deliberate yet gentle, as she began to walk towards Abby. Her intention was clear: to bridge the gap of disbelief and uncertainty, to connect with her mother in this strange and unexpected moment that defied the boundaries of time and reality.
"I remember this day, and yesterday, we opened the tomb, I helped you use your magic, it all happened in my world or timeline I don't know..okay, let me start over. I am from far into the future, in my world or this one I'm not sure, I was talking to Caroline, we were preparing for something big and I have to get back, I do not know how much time has passed already, I have to get to the person who we released, Esther Mikaelson and I need you to help buy me a dress, I can't be seen by my friends like this, not yet anyway, I don't want to disrupt anything…I know you can trust me, I can sense it, so please, just get me a dress and don't try to think about it too hard, I'll get your Bonnie back." Bonnie said quickly not wanting to waste too much time talking about all the logistics, especially to Abby.
Through the years, Bonnie and Abby's relationship had strengthened, especially during Bonnie's pregnancy with Emeline. Yet, it never reached the ideal Abby might have hoped for. Bonnie, reflecting on her own role as a mother, had reestablished a certain distance, driven by her inability to fathom, subjecting Emeline to the hardships she had endured.
Abby, sensing the earnestness and gravity in Bonnie's plea, chose to trust her instincts. "I'm trusting you... What kind of dress do you need?" she asked, her voice steady, recognizing the urgency of the situation and her role in aiding Bonnie. Her determination was clear, she wouldn't fail her daughter again, not in this critical moment that defied time and reality.
BBBB
Bonnie spent most of the day meditating and offering her friends in that world brief responses and phone conversations and made sure to have Abby deliver flowers for Caroline as well due to the death of her father.
As the Mikaelson ball approached, Bonnie found herself immersed in the familiar yet distant ritual of makeup, using the limited tools at her disposal. She mused over the irony of it all – wishing she had embraced her timeless beauty in her youth, attended more dances and balls, the kinds of events she'd come to relish in later years.
Bonnie was pleased with what Abby had gotten for her and even let her assist in getting ready for the ball.
"You look... breathtaking. It's hard to believe you're mine," Abby remarked, her eyes sparkling as they added jeweled bobby pins and a delicate golden headband adorned with small flowers to Bonnie's hair.
"Yeah, well..you should see my daughter" Bonnie replied with a wistful smile, carefully arranging her long, thick, curls to frame her face, the unbound tresses cascading forward.
At the mention of her granddaughter, Abby's eyes brimmed with tears. Bonnie, half-jokingly, implored, "Oh, please don't cry. The setting spray from this era can't handle the tears I'll shed. But yes, she's pretty phenomenal." Bonnie's voice held a mix of pride and a tender effort to stave off her own tears.
"Let's get you into your dress, shall we?" Abby proposed, wiping away her tears, to which Bonnie nodded.
Bonnie placed her hand over her necklace and immediately felt a pang of guilt for getting a bit distracted at the need to get back to her time.
Bonnie quickly stepped into her dress when Abby left the bedroom and called her back in to help her tie it up.
"You did good Abby, I don't even want to know how much it cost" Bonnie admired the ethereal champagne tulle dress that had a corseted lacy bodice and drop-down sleeves making the dress off-shoulder with the perfect-sized slit in the front to show Bonnie's champagne colored, satin, tied up heels that tied up to her ankles with bows in the back.
"If your Bonnie ever sees this dress, I think she'll be excited that one day she'll have the boobs to fill them" Bonnie joked as the dress perfectly held up her breasts.
Abby, sensing her daughter's readiness to face the evening's challenges, reassured her, "You're going to make quite the impression. Let me know how I can help further. I know you can't share much, but remember, you can trust me."
"I know," Bonnie replied with a light laugh. "So, are you ready to be my ride? I can't quite recall what we had back then – taxis, Ubers?" Her laughter reflected the ease of their current interaction, a reminder for Bonnie to involve her own Abby more in her life once she returned to her time. This moment, fleeting yet filled with a rare connection, was a reminder of what could be.

As Abby and Bonnie arrived at the grand Mikaelson estate, Bonnie's eyes caught a glimpse of Elena just stepping in. A knot of complex emotions tightened in Bonnie's chest. She knew that facing Elena again would be challenging, especially with the knowledge that only a day ago in her world, she had been with Damon. Now, Bonnie was acutely aware of the strong and intensely growing connection between herself and Damon, a realization that sent ripples of nervous anticipation through her.
Pushing her tumultuous feelings aside, Bonnie stepped out of the car, bidding Abby a brief goodbye. She turned to face the opulent house, each step towards it stirring different memories. Her heart fluttered with the thought of encountering old friends and foes alike, and the intricate web of relationships she had woven with some of them, especially one.
Upon entering, Bonnie immediately felt the weight of numerous gazes upon her. The Archambeau blood in her veins, enhancing her abilities, made her acutely aware of the supernatural energy that permeated the room. She longed, just for a moment, to be less attuned to these sensations. Her heart instinctively sought out a familiar presence, one she had come to cherish and yearn for. Despite trying to resist, she felt his shock and curiosity pull at her.
It was Elijah who graciously approached her first, his demeanor the epitome of charm and politeness. "My, my, my, it is a pleasure. My mother will be most pleased to see you," he greeted, delicately kissing Bonnie's hand.
Bonnie, masking the slight edge in her voice with a smile, replied, "I didn't think I was invited. I assumed my invitation got lost in the mail."
Elijah, with a keen observer's eye, noted, "Something is very…different about you," his gaze briefly scanning her, eliciting a faint blush from Bonnie.
Their exchange did not go unnoticed. Damon watched with a mixture of irritation and intrigue, while Elena, predictably, felt a twinge of jealousy. Even Stefan, usually more reserved, couldn't help but be captivated by Bonnie's transformation. Her entrance into the atrium was nothing short of ethereal, as if she had descended from the celestial realms to mingle among mortals.
Elena was the first to approach Bonnie, her tone a mix of surprise and barely concealed envy. "Bonnie, you came," she exclaimed, reaching out to grasp Bonnie's arm. But as Bonnie turned to face her, Elena's expression faltered, almost taking a step back, confronted by the undeniable, radiant change in her friend.

"Bonnie, you look like a literal goddess, and I need to borrow whatever bra you have on" Elena let out a light laugh, as she dragged Bonnie from Elijah toward Stefan and Damon.
As Bonnie approached, her gaze interlocked with Damon's, eliciting a startled reaction from him. He looked at her as if seeing her for the very first time, a mixture of awe and surprise etched on his face.
Elena, seizing the moment, began, "Since you're finally here and you've been ghosting our calls, we have so much to catch up on—" She paused, noticing Damon's transfixed stare.
Caroline's voice suddenly pierced the air, "BONNIE SHEILA BENNETT!" The sheer enthusiasm in her tone drew Klaus' attention towards Bonnie, his interest visibly piqued by her stunning transformation.
"Caroline," Bonnie greeted with a warm smile.
"Okay, listen, I really need to step away for a moment, there's someone important I have to meet," Bonnie said, just as Matt started to approach.
Damon, with a hint of intrigue, began, "No, hold on, something's definitely different about you, witchy, it's not just your—"
Stefan, ever the gentleman, quickly interjected, "What Damon is trying to say, in his own way, is that you look absolutely breathtaking tonight."
Bonnie, sensing Klaus about to chime in, quickly found her opportunity to slip away
"Excuse me, I need to visit the ladies' room. Not the best timing with a champagne-colored dress, if you know what I mean," she said with a nervous laugh, immediately regretting her words as she remembered the keen senses of the vampires around her would be able to tell she was lying.
Without waiting for a response, Bonnie hastily made her exit, snatching a glass of champagne en route to the restroom. As she walked away, her mind raced with thoughts about the potential impact of her interactions on the timeline.
Bonnie made it to the bathroom and looked at herself in the mirror. She couldn't help but think that a glamour spell to maintain her teenage appearance might have been wise. As a teenager, she was already strikingly beautiful, but the years had transformed her into someone even more captivating – a realization that would certainly be startling for those who had only seen her as a younger self just a day ago.
As she emerged, the door was suddenly blocked by an unexpected figure: Damon, who swiftly entered and shut the door behind them.
"Seriously? Even for you, this is wildly inappropriate," Bonnie retorted, her voice dripping with sarcasm. She struggled to mask the involuntary reactions of her body, which frustratingly seemed to respond to Damon's proximity despite her better judgment.
"Vampire hearing witchy, and right now, that's the least of your problems. You're different, radically so, and you didn't even give us a heads-up about showing up. Start talking... now," he demanded, his eyes widening with a mix of curiosity and urgency.
With a mischievous glint in her eye, Bonnie leaned in, closing the distance between herself and Damon. "Mmm, but it's so much more fun," she teased, her voice a playful purr.
"To fuck with you," she continued, her smirk broadening into a confident, almost challenging grin. In a swift, fluid motion, she brushed past Damon with a casual shoulder check, her exit as dramatic as it was deliberate.
"Wtf," Damon mouthed silently, a mix of bewilderment and intrigue flashing across his face. He stood there for a moment, processing the encounter, before shaking off the surprise and heading back out to find Bonnie. His mind was racing with questions, each more pressing than the last, as he prepared to delve deeper into the mystery that Bonnie had become.

In the rhythmic pulse of the Mikaelson ball's music, Bonnie seized the opportunity to seek out Esther, her quest surprisingly straightforward. Ascending the grand staircase, she noticed Damon stealthily trailing her. Reluctant to use magic but left with no choice, Bonnie swiftly conjured an invisible barrier, halting Damon in his tracks as he collided with the unseen wall, which immediately frustrated the curious vampire. Bonnie opened the doors with her magic and stood in front of Esther and Finn who did not seem surprised to see her there.
Entering the room with Esther and Finn, Bonnie was met with their unflinching gazes, neither showing surprise at her presence. Esther's voice was calm, yet probing, "You're not the Bonnie who freed me. What brings you here?"
Bonnie, poised yet urgent, explained her predicament. "One moment I was in my time, and the next, here, after your release. I need your help to return my Bonnie and myself to our respective times before any more damage is done."
Esther, her expression contemplative, invited Bonnie to sit. "What have you attempted so far?"
"I've tried tracing the spell. It's potent, crafted by someone powerful, yet not strong enough to have brought me here. Each attempt to delve deeper is thwarted," Bonnie detailed her efforts.
Esther's skepticism was evident. "Why should I trust you?"
Bonnie's response was firm, her eyes darkening. "You have no reason not to. But know this – I'm asking politely. I'd prefer not to force your assistance."
Esther weighed her options, aware of her plan to use Elena's blood against her children and the natural affront it posed. "I'll aid you, Bonnie Bennett, if you allow me to complete my task without interference," she proposed, assessing the extraordinary magical aura enveloping Bonnie, reminiscent of the power she had once sensed in Dahlia. Bonnie thought about it for a moment and realized everything that came with what happened after Esther's deal with Elena.
"No, delay it, delay it for when I leave, I don't want to change anything, nor do I want to sit back and watch the things that will happen because of what you're going to do. I can help protect this town from your children if you help me, I honestly may need your children to get the help of some witches in New Orleans, I promise my ancestors are probably throwing a fit about me being here already, probably wondering why they can't reach me and once they realize why they can't, they will gladly support whatever extended time you have here to help fix this" Bonnie continued as she crossed her legs and sat back into the chair.
Finn, observing the exchange, directed Bonnie, "Remove your barrier, Elena is here."
Bonnie addressed Esther earnestly, "I can ensure you will get all the doppelgänger blood you will need, just don't use it tonight. Please, delay."
Esther, holding Bonnie's gaze, acquiesced, "You bear responsibility for any harm they cause."
"Deal. Keeping them in check will be effortless," Bonnie assured with a confident smirk.
"24 hours, I'll meet you back here," Bonnie stated. With a nod from Esther and Finn, Bonnie effortlessly dissolved the barrier, surprising Esther with her silent command. Elena's knock sounded just as Bonnie vanished, reappearing in a different corridor.
Bonnie was back in a different hall about to make her way downstairs to at least enjoy some of the party and see some long-lost faces. Bonnie's senses led her to a room housing the Salvatore brothers. She entered to find Stefan standing over a temporarily incapacitated Damon.
"He's very persistent that one" Bonnie remarked, as Stefan nodded and eyed her curiously.
"Which is why he deserves it…every time" Stefan replied, attempting to exit only to find the door spellbound by Bonnie.
"Bonnie let me go, I don't want to be near him for the moment if I don't have to be" Stefan implored, tension evident in his stance.
"Stefan," Bonnie's voice was gentle, coaxing him to turn. "You'll both get through this. All of it."
Stefan, unsure of her full meaning, offered a grateful smile before Bonnie released the spell, allowing him to depart.
Turning to Damon, who was slowly regaining consciousness, Bonnie sat beside him. "Wake up, dummy," she teased, watching him come to.
Damon's gaze met Bonnie's, his eyes locking with hers, taking in her striking appearance. "I'll find you later," Bonnie said quickly, leaving as Damon gathered himself, her departure leaving a trail of intrigue and unanswered questions.
After a tumultuous night marked by frustration, confessions of unrequited love, and a sense of rejection, Damon found himself gravitating towards the bar. There, Matt and Rebekah were indulging in their own forms of escapism. As Damon settled in with a drink, his gaze involuntarily drifted to the door, where Bonnie made a captivating entrance. Clad in tight black jeans and a sleek square-neck bodysuit, paired with boots, her hair was effortlessly styled into a messy bun that paradoxically enhanced her allure, stealing Damon's breath away.
"Ever notice how Bonnie seems to have gone through a second round of puberty?" Damon quipped, his eyes fixated on Bonnie, who sent him a knowing smile before taking a seat at a nearby table, clearly expecting him to follow.
Matt, nursing broken fingers from an earlier encounter with Kol, interjected with a hint of weariness, "Yeah, and I've had more than my share of company tonight. I'd appreciate to end this night not surrounded by any of you," indicating his desire to drink alone.
Damon, barely acknowledging Matt's discomfort, rolled his eyes and sauntered over to Bonnie's booth.
"You're definitely not my Bon-Bon. Not a chance," Damon declared, his words tinged with alcohol-fueled bluntness.
Bonnie, amused, prodded, "Really? Why's that?"
"This, this whole scenario is off and you look the same but even your hips are different, and clearly, the lack of a bra and the coldness of this room, it's not just Victoria's Secret it's 'Bonnie's Secret', and you wouldn't be caught dead attending a Mikaelson ball..plus, your mom got the invite for you and threw it away before you even woke up," Damon retorted as he took another drink of his beer.
Bonnie's expression shifted, the revelation about her mother's actions causing her brow to furrow. She hadn't realized the invite had been intercepted.
"Well, maybe I've always been this way, and you just never bothered to notice," Bonnie countered with raised eyebrows, a playful challenge in her voice. If she was going to be stuck here longer than planned, she mused, she might as well have some fun – and she could always resort to a little magical amnesia for Damon if necessary.
"No..and since we're playing this game and I am incredibly bored with the night, I have eye fucked you in every which way since I've met your judgey ass and my oh my, what an ass" Damon wagged his brows and took another sip of his beer. Bonnie widened her eyes and smiled as she stifled a laugh.
"You're disgusting Damon" Bonnie teased.
"Maybe you are my Bon-bon" Damon furrowed his brows at Bonnie who quickly swiped his beer to take a sip.
As Damon studied Bonnie more intently, his expression shifted from playful curiosity to a more sober focus. He was genuinely trying to decipher the enigma sitting before him.
"You're right, I'm not your Bonnie. I'm Bonnie from the future, though perhaps not from your future. It's complicated, and I'm still figuring it out," Bonnie admitted, watching as Damon processed this revelation, his usual sharp wit momentarily replaced by intrigue.
"We're going to need more drinks for this conversation," Damon declared, his face etched with a mix of confusion and fascination.
"Agreed. I'll grab a bottle and another glass on your tab," Bonnie said with a mischievous smile, feeling Damon's gaze follow her as she walked to the bar.
Damon tried to put the pieces of the disastrous night together and realized that what was happening with Bonnie but not his Bonnie was far more entertaining and thrilling than dealing with whatever Elena or Stefan had to say about his actions and revelations. Damon couldn't help to think about the small but growing part of his heart he held for Bonnie but never in a million years he thought would he ever be able to even have a solid friendship with the witch let alone any possibilities of a relationship.
Damon mulled over the night's chaotic events, realizing that this unexpected turn with Bonnie – a future Bonnie, no less – was far more captivating than dealing with the fallout of his actions with Elena and Stefan. He contemplated the subtle yet undeniable affection he harbored for Bonnie, a sentiment he had never imagined could evolve beyond a deep friendship, let alone into something more.
When Bonnie returned, placing the bottle between them, Damon found himself unusually at ease.
"Okay, hit me with your questions. You won't remember this anyway, and I'm bored," Bonnie said, her smile radiant in a way Damon seldom saw from her.
"Wait, why won't I remember? These must be some heavy revelations," Damon said, his curiosity piqued.
"If you ask the right questions, you'll understand why," Bonnie replied, pouring herself a glass of bourbon.
Damon watched her take a sip, a smirk playing on his lips. "So, when did you start swiping my bourbon?"
Bonnie laughed lightly. "You and I sort of become best friends. It grew on me."
Damon feigned disappointment, hoping for a more juicier revelation. "Are we the last two people on earth or something?"
"Actually, we kind of end up in a prison world together for months. And no, nothing happened between us, if that's what you're thinking." Bonnie rolled her eyes, amused yet serious.
Damon's interest was clearly piqued. "So, we were forced into friendship? I still don't see why I need to forget this. You're lucky your face is the only thing holding my attention right now" he said, his words slightly slurred.
Bonnie's smile lingered, comforted by Damon's presence, yet she couldn't shake the realization that, in during this time, Damon was deeply entangled with Elena.
Her expression must have shifted, because Damon quickly noticed. "What's on your mind? If you don't spill, I might have to share my thoughts, and trust me, you don't want to go there," he teased with a smirk.
"Maybe it's best we call it a night, you should call Becks" Bonnie suggested, finishing her drink and standing up, a whirlwind of emotions clouding her thoughts.
As she walked past, Damon impulsively reached out, pulling her into his lap. "Damon—" Bonnie started, caught off guard.
"No, you're not just walking away, and you're clearly hiding something. Your heart's racing, Bonnie. I've heard it before – those rare moments when you remember you're a girl who likes hot vampires," Damon teased, the proximity of their faces igniting a spark he had long suppressed.
"Damon," Bonnie said, taking a deep breath, her resolve wavering.
Damon looked at her, his gaze drifting from her heart-shaped lips to her captivating green eyes. "Yeah?"
"Good night," Bonnie managed to say, gathering every ounce of willpower to stand up from his lap, leaving Damon in a state of bewilderment and unspoken desire.
Damon realized after she had gotten up from his lap his body was reacting to the proximity of Bonnie being on his lap, which caused him not to go after her as she quickly left the bar.
After it was safe for Damon to leave the bar, he ended up calling Rebekah to finish what Bonnie, or future Bonnie had started. Damon could not get Bonnie off her mind, so much so that he called Rebekah her name during their second round, which quickly killed the mood and confused the hell out of Rebekah.
The next morning, he realized Elena had been calling him but couldn't be bothered to see why. He was, however, shocked to see Rebekah still in his bed and shrugged at the sight before getting up to put pants on.
"Are we going to discuss how you called me not by my name, nor Elena's, but Bonnie Bennett's name?" Rebekah asked as she sat up and stretched out her arms.
Damon scrunched his face at the question.
"No, in fact, it might be time to head back to Mother Dearest and the lost boys," Damon said as he threw her, her dress.
Rebekah rolled her eyes, put her dress back on, and walked down the stairs with Damon.
"Let's not make a big deal about this" Rebekah said to Damon before they opened the front door.
"Agreed, my thoughts exactly" Damon responded.
"You'll come crawling back soon enough" Rebekah continued.
"Let's not hold our breath on that one" Damon retorted before opening the door and seeing Elena standing there. Rebekah was extremely amused as she looked between Damon and Elena and quickly made her way past the doppelganger.
Damon had already heard her heartbeat halfway down the stairs but was still amused at the timing of it all.
"You ignored my calls, Damon, if this is you lashing out at me, sleeping with someone who tried to kill me days ago then you have got to get over it" Elena didn't want to admit that it bugged her to see that they had slept together.
"I was.. busy and what's that saying? Bygones and all" Damon smirked as Elena scoffed.
"Have you stopped taking vervain?" Elena asked as if she didn't already know the answer.
"You think she compelled me to sleep with her? I promise you don't want to know the real answer Detective Gilbert" Damon widened his eyes.
"Damon, Esther has a plan on how to kill all of the Originals not just Klaus, she said she may have to wait for another celestial event but she took my blood to stay ready, I just think In the meantime we need to find a way to save Elijah" Elena continued, trying to make sense of Damon's demeanor.
"Do you think I care about Elijah?" Damon asked as he poured himself a drink.
"You should care about Rebekah" Elena retorted which made Damon laugh.
"You should be happy, that's a lot of birds, one stake in the heart" Damon continued.
Elena took a deep breath and turned around when she heard Stefan walk into the room.
"He's right Elena, Klaus needs to die," Stefan said observing the interaction between the two.
Elena looked at Stefan and continued to walk out the door before Damon quickly vamp-sped to her and widened his eyes "Don't mess this up Elena" Damon ordered.
Elena paused at the doorway, turning back to face Damon with a stern expression. "And Damon, whatever you were doing with Bonnie last night, you better not hurt her. If you do, I'll never forgive you," she warned with a seriousness that brooked no argument.
Damon feigned ignorance, hoping his poker face was convincing. "I have no idea what you're talking about," he replied, though his evasive eyes might have betrayed him.
"Matt saw you with her before he left, Damon. Just leave her alone," Elena insisted, her tone final, before she walked out the front door.
Stefan, who had been quietly observing the exchange, raised an eyebrow in curiosity. "What was that all about?"
"We've got another situation brewing while we're tangled up in our 'Operation Kill Klaus and the Mikaleson 5,'" Damon started, a hint of mischief in his tone.
Stefan caught on quickly. "Bonnie?"
"Yeah, but she's not our Bonnie. And we can't let the rest of the Scooby gang in on this," Damon said as he handed Stefan a glass of bourbon.
"And?" Stefan pressed, knowing well that Damon was holding back.
Damon grimaced slightly before confessing, "She gave me a boner."
Stefan sighed, a mix of exasperation and concern in his voice. "Damon, do you even understand the concept of boundaries? Whether she's our Bonnie or not, she's off limits."
Damon's response was tinged with defiance. "And why do you care? Shouldn't you be happy I'm moving on to someone else?"
Stefan's expression darkened. "What happens when our Bonnie comes back, Damon? Do you think your feelings for this other Bonnie will just disappear? This ends now," he said, stepping closer to Damon, his tone laced with a brotherly command.
But Damon wasn't swayed. "No, I think I'll go see her. Alone," he countered, his words sparking a flicker of anger in Stefan's eyes.
