Gabriel watched with his eyes the young woman whom he had seen near Lucas Bouchard. Julie Thatcher's eyes met his. She smiled in greeting. Then boarded the train. Lucas had watched her board and then came down from the balcony. Gabriel watched him come out the front door.

"Sorry, to keep you waiting, I was checking on the train," Lucas said as he joined them.

"No need to apologize," Lillian said.

"But we do need to go," Gabriel added. He ushered towards the train door where there was a queue to enter the train. Everyone joined the line. Gabriel watched as Lucas put his hand out to help his mother step into the train. Noticing every detail on how he walked, talked, looked, dressed–hoping that this person would give something away about his true identity. Gabriel helped the two children up into the train, before holding his hand out for Lillian to take.

Once on the train, Gabriel led the group to their group of seats in the car. The two children were going to sit between him and Lillian. The Bouchards sat across from them in facing chairs so that they could converse easily. Mrs. Bouchard was sitting in the window seat. Lucas was sitting in the aisle seat. They got comfortable and settled while waiting for the final boarding call.

Gabriel did a quick look around the cabin and memorized faces in their cabin. Julie Thatcher was not in this one, which he supposed was a good thing.

"Final Boarding call!"

The train workers were loading the stepping stools into the carriages. The train eventually was all shut. The whistle was on time and the train started slowly moving towards their destination. Lucas pulled out a book to read, but Gabriel couldn't figure out the title from where he sat. Mrs. Bouchard closed her eyes, being gently lolled to sleep by the soft rocking of the train. Lillian smiled at her husband. She took out her knitting and continued making a scarf as a welcome present. Gabriel started to play with the two children sitting next to him. They both smiled at him.

The ticket man came through the cabin in about 15 minutes.

"Tickets please, tickets please," the man said as he clicked his hole puncher. Gabriel reached into his coat pocket and grabbed all the tickets for the group. When the ticket man turned to Gabriel, he handed over theirs. The man hole-punched each one, then handed them back.

Lucas ended up helping his mother to walk the train about two hours into their ride. He denied Gabriel's company for the two claiming that there was not much space that they could be attacked in. Gabriel just nodded and sat back down. Lillian looked at the pair and also nodded.

"So, what is he reading?" Gabriel asked his wife.

Lillian sighed heavily and shook her head in disgust before answering.

"Dangerous Liaisons," she said.

Gabriel gave a long stare at his wife.

"The way he reacts to what is happening is too happy. Any normal person would be shocked and horrified," Lillian added.

"I think I heard that it is his favorite," Gabriel said as he leaned back and crossed his arms.

"That only makes him worse," Lillian protested, "Gabriel, you cannot believe anything he is saying? My gut is telling me he is bad."

"Mine too, but until they say or do anything suspicious we have to pretend that we believe they are who they say they are," Gabriel reminded his wife.

Lillian shook her head and put away her knitting.

Elizabeth was looking at Helen Bouchard trying to figure out how to respond to the question.

"No, he hasn't. We don't discuss anything that doesn't include work," Elizabeth replied. "Which brings me back to my book, you must have suggestions on how to improve the first chapter at least?"

Helen Bouchard looked at Elizabeth, obviously thinking about how to answer her question when this woman hadn't read the first chapter and was trying to make it seem like she knew what she talked about.

"I mean do you think that I should have Elsa be so bold as to wear a revealing dress on her first date?" Elizabeth asked.

"I don't think there is a problem with that," Helen said.

Elizabeth nodded in surprise, "what about when she uses a pistol to kill a bear?"

"I think your first chapter is perfect," Helen said with a smile.

"Really?" Elizabeth asked back. Elizabeth was blinking her eyes at Helen in confusion.

"Yes, in fact. Lucas has said that you don't believe any writing is perfect, but your feedback has made some almost perfect. So, be honest, what do I need to do?" Elizabeth asked.

Bill was waiting patiently to hear what the imposter's news was.

Helen looked around the room, not meeting Elizabeth's eyes.

"The truth is I…I…I…," Helen stuttered.

"YOU haven't read my chapter have you?" Elizabeth asked.

"No, I haven't, I came here to get to know you," Helen said.

"But then who has been giving me revisions? I am working on the third round of revisions that have been coming for me," Elizabeth asked with skepticism.

The imposter Helen had a flicker of fear, knowing that she had misstepped with this piece.

"Mrs. Bouchard?" Nathan finally came around the screen.

"Yes?" she turned to look around.

"You're under arrest for identity theft," Nathan said as he grabbed an elbow.

"This is ridiculous! Who's identity?"

"Helen Bouchard's," Nathan replied evenly. He then led her out of the cafe. "Elizabeth, bring your revisions, we need to see if they match this woman's handwriting."

Elizabeth nodded as she stood up from the table, Bill looked at her.

"What?" she asked.

"Hard of hearing?" he grumbled.

"Well, I thought it was brilliant," Elizabeth said.

"Uh, huh," Bill replied with a headshake. "You're just lucky you're too important in the case, or else I would smack you for cheek!"

Elizabeth just smiled brightly back and giggled her amusement, before Bill escorted her to her row house to get the edits she had been sent from the real Helen Bouchard.

Nathan was starting his paperwork when Elizabeth and Bill came back. Elizabeth handed them over to Nathan.

"Thank you," he replied, then he asked Elizabeth to leave. Bill sat down at Nathan's desk as Nathan sat down across from the imposter Helen.

"Please sign your name," Nathan instructed. She did. Nathan compared the handwriting to the samples from Elizabeth. "We know you aren't Helen Bouchard. So, why are you pretending to be her?"

The imposter Helen knew her rights because all she said to them was, "I want my lawyer."

Lillian struck up a conversation with Mrs. Bouchard when she returned.

"Lucas is in the dining car," she said when she returned without him. Gabriel had decided to join him.

"How long have you been married?" Lillian asked.

"37 years," Helen replied.

Lillian smiled.

"How about yourself?" Helen asked in a polite response.

"Almost 2," Lillian replied.

"Were you or the constable married before? Your children…" Helen explained.

"Oh, I run an orphanage with my sister. Gabriel is helping pick up two more for our care," Lillian explained.

"He doesn't mind you working in such a way?" Helen asked.

Lillian shook her head 'no.'

"Gabriel is a wonderful man," Lillian explained.

"My husband would most certainly not be okay with other people's children being in and out of our lives. No, I knew I needed to do something productive while married that also kept me traveling. This is why I have a publishing job," Helen explained.

Lillian nodded in understanding and gave her a look of sorrow. She knew that what Helen Bouchard had told her was 100% the truth.

"Lucas, I tried to protect him from his father, but I wasn't always successful," Helen admitted.

Lillian reached out to squeeze the mother's hand. Helen Bouchard knew that she had not been able to protect her son from his father. Lillian believed that this woman was Lucas' mother. She also believed that she was caught in some elaborate scheme to not be able to tell the full truth. Helen returned her squeezed hand.

"I need to tell you something about Lucas, something only a mother would know," Helen said.

Lillian looked at her in surprise then sat next to Helen Bouchard. Helen whispered into Lillian's ear and Lillian looked at her in shock.

"Lucas doesn't even know about this," Helen admitted. Lillian nodded before going back to her seat.

Gabriel and Lucas returned to their seats.

"The real Lucas has a birthmark on his left bottom," Lillian whispered into Gabriel's ear when he sat down.

Gabriel, well trained as he was, didn't react and just acted like Lillian said something mushy and romantic.

"I love you, too hunny bunny," Gabriel said before kissing her soundly. But he was already thinking about ways to get this information to Nathan in Hope Valley.
