I do not own…

Will woke up by the smell of bacon. He glanced up and saw Kagome in the kitchen, cooking. The man blinked a few times to make sure he wasn't seeing things but once his eyes were clear and that she was still there he knew this was real. When he got up Kagome looked his way with a smile.

"Morning, Will." She said

"Morning." He said

He looked at the dogs and thought about taking them out.

"I already let them out when I took Bear." She said

"Oh...thank you." He said

He walked in the kitchen and saw that she made them pancakes, bacon, eggs, potatoes and toast.

"I hope you don't mind but I wanted to thank you for letting me stay here last night." She said

"Wow...you didn't have to do this, Kagome." He said

He made a plate for himself before sitting down and when she was done cleaning the pans she used she made her own plate.

"It's no problem." She said and sat down with him."Besides, I need to keep my mind busy."

Knowing what she was talking about, Will tried to change the subject.

"When do you have to head off to work?" He asked "I can drop you off…"

"No. I called my boss early about the break-in and he was understanding, he let me have the next two days off." She said "I have a lot to do. I need to talk to my landlord about changing and adding locks to my door. Need to find a security alarm in my budget. I can't believe I no longer have the safety of my own home."

"I can help you with that. Not to mention I think Jack and the others might have identified the victim. They would want to see if you knew them." Will said

"Like last time." She sighed "Why me? What did I do to get his attention?"

"People like these, it could be the smallest thing that makes them think you two have something special." Will said

"Richard told me that he was some kind of a Psychopath. I thought they can't love or feel emotions like that." She said

"Some believe they mixed it up with obsession." He said

"Lovely, I have my own Psychopath obsessed with me." She muttered

They stopped when someone rang the doorbell and the dogs started barking. Will went to check who it was unsurpised to him it was Hannibal.

"Dr. Lecter." He greeted

"Good morning, Will." Hannibal said

Hearing his voice made Kagome tense a little but didn't move or made the knowledge that she was there. When they were done talking Will let him in and they entered the kitchen where he saw her.

"Hannibal, this is Kagome Higurashi. Kagome, this is Dr. Hannibal Lecter." Will introduced

"Yes, we met before. Hello, Dr. Lecter." Kagome nodded

"Good morning, Ms. Higurashi. Good to see again. Jack told me what happened last night, I'm glad you are safe." Hannibal said and looked at Will. "That is why I am here. Jack wants us at the lab, they were able to I.D who the arm belonged to."

Understanding, Kagome finished up her plate and cleaned it before heading upstairs to take a shower. She didn't take long as this wasn't her house and just wanted to get this over with. When she was done she got dressed and started doing her hair and makeup while Will took a shower next. Once Will was done and ready they headed to Quantico. They were about to head to the lab until Jack caught them and took them to his office. In his office there were three chairs placed in front of his desk. Jack sat in his chair and Will sat on the right while Hannibal took the one on the left. That just left Kagome to sit in the middle. Jack picked up a tablet and slid it towards Will. Kagome noticed the hate in his eyes when he looked at what was on it.

"Damn Freddie Lounds." He muttered

"She didn't get inside the building thankfully. And none of the neighbors talked." Jack said

"Freddie Lounds, the journalist of that tacy TattleCrime website for serial killers?" Kagome asked

She never read her articles but Roger, who is a journalist, had warned her about this lady. The woman enjoyed turning the truth into lies or twist words around to sell her stories.

"Unfortunately yes, that's her." Will said "Looks like she tried to take a picture of us when we left but something went wrong."

He handed her the tablet to show her. She scrolled through the screen and saw what he ment. There were three photos of her and Will and there was a blur covering them. After looking at them carefully Kagome did her best to not smile as knew what happened. Emily was following them out the whole time. The priestess explained to the ghost girl that she had to leave just for a day. The little girl was sad but was able to understand and stayed with her until they left. She had noticed that Emily had walked away and towards someone else but thought nothing of it. Now she knows why. She had a feeling that Emily tried to scare Lounds and the lady might have a few photos of her ghost form. Kagome looked through but didn't see any.

"I guess it's a good thing I'm on good terms with my neighbors. Safe from the public for now I guess." She said, placing the tablet down.

"Indeed. Now for why you are here. The arm belonged to a, Steve Wright." Jack said

He lifted a photo of the man and showed it to Kagome.

"This is the tow-truck driver that towed my car to my mechanic." She said "He was a bit of a creep. I was kind of glad Hannibal was there to drive me. If I took a ride from him, I might have hit him for sexual harassment."

"He was truly vulgar. He didn't even try to hide it in front of us." Hannibal said as took a look at the picture. "Even tried to touch her inapprobly in one point."

"And neither of you saw anyone that could be watching you?" Jack asked

"My car stopped in a nearby wood area of the highway. And the only car that stopped was Hannibal." She explained "I'm not sure even when we got to the mechanic I was more focused on my car. I don't get how this person is following me around or knows these things about me."

"Will has already told us about surprise flower deliveries. That's our only lead for now. Until then we need to keep surveillance on you, Miss Higurashi."

She knew that this would come up soon or later. It took some convincing for them to not locate her somewhere cause she wasn't moving out of her apartment. Both Hannibal and Will suggested that she stay with one of them but she still wasn't leaving her home. So Jack decided to have an agent be placed in one of the apartments to keep an eye on her. When they were able to leave, Kagome was able to get her landlord to change and install locks. Will even helped her install the latest security system in her home.

With everything happening she almost forgot about the dinner date at Hannibals'. She wore a purple long dress with short sleeves with some black heels. The priestess didn't want to look dolled up for him and give off the wrong impression. When she arrived at his house it was just like she thought it was, large and luxurious. After taking a deep breath, she rang the doorbell. Hannibal opened the door a few seconds and greeted her with a smile. After he let her inside he offered to take her coat. When she turned around she looked at the inside of his house. It was beautiful with all the art work and the decor all around. This just shows how wealthy he was.

"Please, come this way." He said, as he gestured her down the hall.

He led her into the dining area where an enormous table adorned with a large centrepiece dominated the room. At the end of the table there was a setting for two. He pulled up a chair for her and she thanked him with a smile as she sat down.

"Dinner will be done in a few minutes. I am glad you could make it." He said as he sat down across from her. "After what has been happening I was worried we would have to reschedule."

"I'm not the type to get scared so easily. If that's what this guy is hoping I have seen scarier and more dangerous people than him." She said

She noticed the amusement in his eyes but decided to set it aside. They talked for a bit till the timer rang and he went to get the food. Kagome took the opportunity to glance around. Like the other rooms it was all grand with beautiful decor and art. On one of the walls she noticed a pair of tusks that looked pretty real to her. She didn't doubt that they were fake. Hannibal looked like the type to buy the finest things in life. Which means real, expensive and rare. Everything looked nice and all, but she noticed that there weren't any pictures of family or friends. She knew that he was living the bachelor life but it didn't look like he had anyone.

When he came back with two ornamented plates he walked behind her and placed the plate in front of her. Looking at the meal she could see why Carl and Roger praise Hannibals' cooking. It was beautiful.

"Tonight's meal is Leg of Lamb with garlic and rosemary, roasted carrots with za'atar and hasselback potatoes." He told her.

He stepped back to his seat before placing down his own plate. Then he picked up a bottle of wine from an icy bowl that was between them to open it. He then poured her a good amount before pouring one for himself.

"This is amazing, lamb is actually one of my favorite meals." She said

"A wonderful coincidence." He smiled

He took his glass of wine and inhaled the smell before glancing at her as she took a bite of lamb. The man smirked a little but she didn't notice it as he took a sip of his wine. The meal tasted amazing. When she got to the meat it tasted a bit different. It was delicious and tasty like everything else but it was different from lamb.

They talked for a bit more till he came to the subject about her abilities and how she uses it to find the living and the dead.

"Well, I grew up in a shrine and was raised to be a priestess. I was the only one in my family to inherit spiritual abilities. When I was a child I used to get teased because my name was a nursery song. 'Kagome Kagome.' One player is chosen as the Oni and has to sit while being blindfolded. The other children join hands and walk in circles around the Oni while chanting the song." She explained "When the song stops the Oni has to guess who is behind them. I always knew who it was. No matter what. I didn't know at the time but it was because of their auras. It would scare them and they would no longer ask me to play. Which I didn't mind, I always hated it. When I turned 15 it got stronger and that's when I was able to see things no one else could."

"How were you able to control it?" He asked

"I met an older priestess that knew more than my grandfather and a monk that was half my age. They were able to help guide me and taught me how to control everything. That's how I'm able to find the living when they are missing or when the feds are looking for someone. I'm able to find them by their aura." She said

"And the dead?" He asked

"I don't know. You might not believe me at first." She said

"I believed your first answer. Try me. Like I said, I am very open minded." He said

"The first ghost I saw was around the summertime. I was 15. I didn't know she was one as she looked so solid. But I did notice a few things that were off. She had no shoes and she was wearing a heavy winter coat in the middle of the summer." She explained "She played a prank with the fireworks that scared a few kids and I tried to stop her. She was surprised that I could see her. Before I could do anything, fire surrounded us and she disappeared along with the fire. The next day I found out that she was the late sister of one of my brother's friends. Her name was Mayu. She died in a fire a year ago and was turning into a vengeful spirit. She wanted to hurt her mother and brother as she didn't believe her mother loved her. The fire happened by accident. They had an argument and her mother thought she went to the neighbors when she left to get stuff from the store. Mayu returned and hung her scarf over the inner heater that was in her and brothers room. She wanted to make her mom worried so she hid in the closet."

"Inner heaters back then were a bit harzorness, I assumed the scarf started the fire." He said

Kagome nodded.

"Her mother didn't know she was inside and saved her son before the fire burned the whole apartment. She didn't know until the fire was out. Mayu didn't remember that part and that is why she was so angry. She wanted to hurt them so much that it was destroying herself." She said "That's when I saw something else. I didn't know what it was there at the time but I saw that it was following the girl."

"Another spirit?" He asked

She shook her head and took a sip of her wine.

"It was a Tatarimokke. Known as the Soul Piper demon. I didn't believe it before but after looking it up I knew if ghosts were real then maybe supernatural beings were real too. It plays a flute to entertain the children's spirits until they are ready to go to the afterlife." She explained "It is known that if the child's spirit stays happy the Piper's eyes stay close and the spirits go to heaven. But when the spirit turns to anger and rage the eyes open wide and sends the spirits to hell. I knew that I had to help her. I knew if she knew the truth she wouldn't be angry. I nearly died but I was able to save her. She was able to rest in peace."

"Even in their death you still try to save others, that's very honorable of you." He said

"I come from a long line of Priests and Priestesses. It's in my blood. I'm supposed to help those in need." She said

"Even at the cost of your life though, truly selfless." He said "Really rare in this day of age."

Now she saw something else in her eyes but she couldn't tell if it was sadness or worry.

"So you believe in my story?" She asked

"I see no reason for you to lie." He said "All I see in your eyes is the truth."

When they were done with the main course it was time for dessert. Chocolate souffle, another favorite of hers. A part of her mind was a bit weirded out but pushed it aside as a lot of love chocolate desserts.

When it was near 10 pm Kagome was ready to head home.

"Thank you for dinner Dr. Lecter…" She said as she placed her coat on.

"Please, call me Hannibal." He said

"Then you can call me Kagome. Again thank you for dinner. You really are an amazing cook." She said

"Thank you. I will be hosting a dinner party next weekend. I will love it if you can come." He said

"Uh...I would love to. Who else would be coming?" She asked

He told her that Carl, Roger, some people from the art museum and other people from his social circle. With that said, he showed Kagome to her car and kissed her hand before she entered. With a final goodbye Kagome headed off and made it home before 11. She parked her car in the garage before heading to the apartment building. Before she got to the door she felt she since that someone was following. The aura was female, in her mid-thirties. Kagome didn't sense that the woman had the intention to harm but the priestess didn't trust her. It was when the woman got close that Kagome turned around.

"Can I help you?" She asked

When she saw who it was her face turned annoyed. It was Freddie Lounds. Rogar had shown her a photo of what she looked like a few days ago just in case. The woman was a bit shocked and tried to look embarrassed but Kagome wasn't buying it.

"Hi I'm Kathy Bates...I work for Channel 24 News and…" Freddie started

"I know who you are, Freddie Lounds." Kagome said, before walking back to the door. "And I have nothing to say."

Freddie tried to ask her a few questions but Kagome was fast on her feet. She pressed the code for the door on the padlock and closed it behind her. Seeing that the woman didn't know the code Kagome let out a sigh and just headed to the apartment, put on her P.J's and fall asleep in her comfy bed.

Hannibal had stayed outside until her car was gone before heading back inside and started cleaning the dishes. When he was done he was about to head upstairs to start getting ready for bed but stopped. He looked over at the cellar room where he kept fresh herbs, wine and another freezer. Unknown to the outside world there was a secret door to his underground basement where kept his victims. Inside, strapped to the table, is Steven Wright with both of his legs missing and his arm. In truth, Hannibal wanted to send Steven's eyes as he did leer at her with more than trying to touch her but he thought the arm was a better message. He was willing to do anything for her. Protect and defend her when no one else will. Yes, he knew she could handle herself but he truly wanted to. She was too pure for this dark world and he wanted to keep her safe from it. He was in love with her. Has been since he first saw her. The man was still alive but tomorrow Hannibal planned on killing him. With that in mind he continued on and headed upstairs. His first stop was a room that was well hidden behind a closet. He created this room when he first saw Kagome and day by day he made it look like her own bedroom. Now the only problem is...when to bring her to her new home.
