I do not own…
It wasn't until sunset that Will and the FBI came with the forensic squad behind them. Richard was able to get Kagome out of the cavern before they arrived. Her ankle was sprained thanks to the fall but she was able to walk around. Jack was stunned and disguised by the pile of bones of missing children no one was able to find in years. Their anthropologist was able to analyze all of them and the oldest bones they were able to date were 1801.
"How did you and Detective Jackson find this place?" He asked
"When Will came to me about this case it reminded me of another case that Richard and I have been working on. I did some digging and I was able to find a similar murder with the same profile that happen a month ago." Kagome said
"Who were the victims?" Jack asked
"The Buller family. The father was killed, mother skinned alive and their 7 year old son, Sam went missing. The only survivor was their 15 year old son Jacob." Richard said
"Jacob was the reason the killer changed their killing area. He burned down her lair of death." Kagome said as she looked at the bones. "She had nowhere to hide her victims anymore."
"Wait? You're saying that a woman did all the killings?" Zeller asked
"Yes…and no." Kagome said "I'll explain the rest when we're not overheard by others. And after Jacob Buller is released from the institute he was placed in."
She stood to leave but Jack held out a hand to stop.
"Where are you going?" He asked
"I need to find two bodies that I promised to look for." Kagome said and went off.
Without looking back she continued on walking towards the bones. The children's bones were all laid out in rows. Will tried to stop her when he noticed limping but she wouldn't listen. She closed her eyes for a moment and when she opened them all the childrens' spirits stood by their bones. Her heart ached at the sight of them.
"What is she doing?" Kat asked
"Its' her way of seeing their spirits." Richard said
"You actually believe in that Hocus Pocus crap?" Zeller scoffed
"I've been on the force for ten years and I've seen things myself that I couldn't explain. I have learned to accept the Supernatural world." Richard said "If you want to stop this killer…I suggest that you all should too."
Richard walked away and followed Kagome. They walked down the rows of bodies for a while until Kagome pointed out the Buller son's body. After a few rows she was able to find Emilys' corpse. Not only because her spirit was there but she still had the silver bracelet her sister, Meghan, gave her on her wrist.
"Kagome, I don't know how open minded these people will be." Richard whispered "I know how the FBI works…they believe in logic and facts, not the supernatural."
"We just have to show them the facts we have." She said
Feeling fully drained and believing that her work is done for now, she decided it was time to go home. Richard agreed and took her home.

The next day, Kagome had to go back to work as she did have her own patients to care for. She knew Robert could handle the case and if he needed any help he would call her. Sindy still had a few tests to do as each hour she has new symptoms. So she and her team has to figure it out before she gets worse. She started vomiting this morning, a conduction abnormality when they scan her heart later and her left eye started to roll back in her head around 11. Around her break time Will had called her about the dental work and verified that the two bodies she was looking at were Emily and Sam. When it was her lunch time she was feeling stressed as was reading some Lores about the Skin-Hag that she brought over. Robert had sent some pictures of symbols that were still on the tree and inside the cavern. She tried her best to multitask with each case that she didn't notice Hannibal by the door. He knocked on the door and spoke her name at first but she was still absorbed with her work. It's when Bear barked that she finally looked up.
"Oh, hello Dr. Lecter." She said, closing the lore book. "Sorry about that I was…"
"Doing research?" He asked
He saw the two boards that were either on the other side of her office and another in front of her desk. One about Sindys' case and the other of the Black Creek killer.
"I haven't done this much multitasking since I was 15 as I was trying to study for school exams and doing my priestess training in the woods." She muttered.
He raised a brow when she said that.
""My grandfather was very old fashioned and thought my priestess training was more important than my school grades." She said as she rubbed her eyes. "Besides, why are you here?"
"I came to see how you were doing. And if you want to have lunch with me." He said
He gestures to his large lunch bag. Normally she wouldn't but she was both tired and hungry. She had forgotten to make her own lunch and would have gone to the caferitra.
"That was kind of you. Let me just…clean off my desk." She said
She placed her medical and lore books and papers away as he took out containers from his bag.
"Chicken Liver Fettuccine Alfredo with some stuffed mushroom and pan-seared Asparagus on the side ." He said
"Did you say chicken liver?" She asked, wondering if she was hearing things.
"Don't worry the liver is liquefied." He smiled before pulling out large thermos. "And some homemade lemon-iced tea."
"This looks delicious as always, Hannibal." She said
"Thank you." He said
He watched her take her first bite with pleasure in his eyes. They talked for a while until he asked about the boards, asking if she needed any help. He did have a perfect memory for his days when he was studying in medical school. Now that she had food in her Kagome was able to concentrate more. Since he did still have his medical license he was still a medical doctor so she asked for his opinion on Sindys' new symptoms that keep popping up. They got interrupted when her office phone rang. Sindy was being rushed to the cardiac ICU. Kagome apologized to Hannibal as she had to head off. He understood and started back when she left. Bear stayed in the room and kept an eye on the man as he looked around the office. Hannibal knew of the dog's watchful eyes so didn't dare take anything. He just looked at the photos of her family and friends. There were children's pictures she had also framed on one part of the office. He knew they were from her patients but there were a few that were a bit strange. There was one with a female figure (that knew it had to be Kagome) with a bow, a cape and standing over a dark figure with a monstrous face. When he was done he packed up his stuff and left but not before leaving a purple Lily on her desk.

Kagome and her team were able to save Sindy and they gave her some time to rest. Afterwards Kagome left to handle some of her other patients. When her shift was done she headed home but not before getting some take-out. Feeling too tired to cook and decided to eat some Chinese Food at one of her favorite places. She decided to get her usual: peking duck, with beef fried rice, chow mein and Shrimp Wonton soup for her lunch tomorrow. When she got home she was surprised to see Will wanting by her door with food himself.
"Sorry, I should have called? I thought you would be hungry." He said
"It's alright, we can split. I hope you don't mind peking duck?" She smiled
She went to lock the door and let Bear first before going in herself and unsetting her alarm. Will shut and locked the door before the two place their foods on the table. Before he left to the Gilled Fish place Will had asked Richard what Kagome would like and he got her catfish. Bear sniffed at the food and was giving Will the sad eyes, whimpering.
"Bear, no." Kagome said, pulling him away. "Come on, you, I'll give you your food first."
"Is it okay if I split everything?" Will asked
Kagome nodded as she started preparing Bear's food. When he got the plates and started splitting the food while Kagome was making Bears' food. Will smiled at the fact that she does homemade dog food instead of buying canned dog food.
"You don't use canned food either." He said
"Yeah, I don't trust those banned names." She said "Dogs are descendents of the wolf after all. They deserve real protein and veggies."
She took out the chicken bag for him and mixed it with carrots, peas and celery in his bowl. When she was done mixing it she placed the bowl in his area. Bear quickly went for it quickly and Kagome just washed her hands before sitting down with Will.
"How was your day?" He asked
"Very eventful, I guess." She said "Yours?"
"Well…I had to work with Richard today." He said "And he told me something interesting. About how you two became partners?"
She paused from taking a bite from the chow mein.
"He was working on the Henry Martin case and you helped him with it. He said that you two caught something that I never heard of." He said "That the real killer for those girls wasn't even human."
"Did he tell you everything?" She said
"No. He thought it would be better that you tell me." He said
"Of course, the little scary-cat." she muttered before asking. "Do you want to know the story?"
He nodded.
"If you don't mind telling me." He said
"Well before I tell you…I need to show you something first so that you might have an open mind. Emily." She said
Will nearly jumped when Emily spirit appeared in the room. He had seen a photo of Emily so didn't know if she was real or this was all in his head. When she disappeared and appeared right next to Will, he jumped out of his seat.
"Will, its' okay." Kagome said "She won't hurt you. You have seen her before but that was before you knew she was dead."
Emily smiled at Kagome before disappearing again. Bear got up from his bed when one of his toys floated up and chased after it when it was tossed into the hallway. A girlish giggle was heard but Will saw no one.
"Emily's family used to live in this building before the devorce. That's why she feels connected to this place and doesn't want to leave." Kagome said "I've been trying to help her crossover but she won't. I thought she would if she saw her family again, or when her body was found. Now I see…she and the others can't, until the one that did this to them is stopped."
She took another few bites of her duck before starting her story.
"That's how most ghosts are. Henry Martin wasn't the killer but it was a setup to make it like he was." She said
Twin girls (Beverly and Katherin) age 12 were found dead in the woods by a man and his dog. They were beaten, parts of their bodies were eaten off and looked to be raped with a tree branch. The police were able to gather a lot of evidence and witnesses that pointed to Henry Martin. The man was a local baker that helped coach the girls softball team.
The police arrested the man but he pleaded not guilty as he had an alibi. A very hard proof one too. He and his wife were at his brother's wedding in Phoenix, Arizona as was the best man. There were photos and video footage of him at the wedding when murder was happening. Not to mention he was thousands of miles and hours away from the crime.
When Kagome heard about this on the news she started looking into it herself. She went to the area where the girls were found. The priestess placed her hand on the ground and summoned the girl's spirits to come forward but something else happened. Her eyes glowed white and the event that happened. She saw the girls being dragged into the woods screaming and trying to get out of the man's grip. The man looked like Henry Martin but the moment it threw the girls to ground his form changed. Claw like hands, yellow eyes, a huge demonic sharp smile and demonic hard reptilian face. The girls froze and cried in fear as it leaped forward and feast upon them.
"It was a shapeshifter. But not one that I've come across before." Kagome said before taking a piece of fish that he brought. "This one preyed upon children. I did some research myself but I was coming with the same one that didn't match. So I called on someone that was an old friend of dads. He's a hunter. His type hunts monsters and other supernatural things. He told me that it was El Cucuy. A latin boogeyman that devours children that misbehave."
"How did Richard take to this?" Will asked
"Pretty much how anyone else would. He didn't believe it was something supernatural but with the other evidence he was starting to think that Martin didn't do it." She said "So we worked together. We found out that the girls have gotten into trouble in the past. They smoked, fought and acted out towards their parents and teachers. Then we found a trail. In another city from us they had the same case. A boy around the same age and a man named Samual Bearrit, that everyone knew, was blamed for it. But his alibi wasn't as strong as Martins. He was at his mothers place who only lived three hours away when the murder happened. The same happened in a few other places but there's' always a two month gap."
"Why wait that long?" He asked
"Unlike other shapeshifters the Cucuy takes them that long to transform into who they chose to be. After they feed they go into this short hibernation so they can transform and when they are finished they go off to feed again." She explained
"If this thing can transformed into anyone, how did you two find it?" He asked
"It's another pattern of his. It makes sure it has a lot of witnesses but it also looks for its next victims to transform. And for that it needs the victim's blood. In Samual form he ended up bumping into Martin and managed to cut him without him noticing. The same happened with one of the witnesses that saw the imposter Martin at the Red Dive bar that he works at, Mark Holden. An ex-convent that was trying to turn his life around to support his disable sister. She lived in West Virginia. I knew we had to find him before another innocent man was punished for another child's death." She said
"How did you find him?" He asked
"It's one of my other abilities. I can sense everyone's auras. Humans, monsters and demons are different from each other. That's what helps me find him." She said "I was able to find him hiding out in an abandoned warehouse. It had barely transformed. Parts of him were Mark's face while some parts were still Henry."
"I guess that was enough for Richard to believe." Will muttered
He took another bite of his meal but stopped when the dog toy was thrown in the room. Bear came in to get it and headed back to the hall.
"Well it transformed into its true form when it attacked us. That there is enough to have the supernatural branded into your mind." She said
El Cucuy had smelled what Kagome was and hissed in fear. It let out a roar before transforming into his true form and went into attack mode. The creature went after Richard first and bit into his shoulder. It would have chewed it off but Kagome grabbed a pole that was near her, poured her miko powers on to it and pierced its' heart with it. The creature let out a painful scream before turning into ash.
"After killing the Cucuy we were able to set Martin free and clear his name." She said
"So this slip-skin hag…is she the same as this Cucuy?" He asked
"Yes and No. Like the Cucuy, the hag has to feed on children's flesh and blood to live long. She uses her magic to hide herself. But I think you know why she's called the slip-skin hag." She said
"She possesses the mother's skin." He said
"I hope you haven't tried to get inside her mind. Something like that will mess you up more than the human crazy." She said
"No. Jack wanted me to before but even I knew these kills couldn't have been done by humans." He sighed
After they were done eating they talked a little bit more till it was time for Will to head back. He would have liked to stay the night but he needed to care for the dogs.

Sindy was laying down in her medical room with her dad sleeping in the chair next to her. She couldn't sleep so she watched "The Witches" on her tablet, the 90s' version. It was the only way to help her fall asleep. She had no idea where her mother was. Her dad told her and the doctors that she had business in another country and is having a hard time getting a flight back.
Outside the hospital a dark figure was hiding in the trees. It moved around until it stopped in one area of the building. Once it saw that there wasn't anyone around the being crawled swiftling and fast into the lot. It crawled up the building until it reached the fifth floor and peeked through the window. The blinds covered the window a little but it still could see what was in the room. The hag spotted the main target it was after. Normally she would have walked the place to gain its prize but the girl was protected. The hag knew this because the moment she placed a hand on the window burned it away. She bit in the hiss and growl that wanted to come out.
She had sensed the Priestess the moment the hag had came to her new hunting grounds. The hag knew that the Priestess was very powerful and would be an annoyance if she sensed her. She knew that she should leave but she needed to feed before she could. The girl was already marked so she couldn't switch. She looked around the room and noticed Scared Sutras hanging on the wall. The hag let out a little growl before leaving.
