Last time, the kids were on their rescue mission to save their parents from the four Dark Masters. They found themselves within the Digital World and found a digimon known as Ranamon in trouble. When they saved her, she told them all about her mission to help her friend, Vajramon, bringing down the tyrannical Mercurymon. She plans to give a mysterious and powerful stone that holds the crest of hope to him. Before anything else, MetalSeadramon and Puppetmon attacked and desire the stone as well.

Two Birds, One Stone
Musuko and the kids found themselves faced with two of the Dark Masters, but they're already in trouble. All of their digimon are already hurt and they seem overpowered.
"Did you really think those five mere digimon could defeat the likes of us?" MetalSeadramon taunted. "Now just hand over that stone or prepare to swim with the fishes."
"We're not giving you jerks anything! Give us back our parents!" Musuko demanded.
"Musuko, it might not be a good idea to talk back to the giant sea serpent and the crazy puppet." Mason said as he and the others were scared. The digimon tried to get back to fight, but it didn't look good.
"Hey, MetalSeadramon... Do you think these brats look similar to our prisoners?" Puppetmon questioned.
"Who cares? Let's just get rid of them and get that stone." MetalSeadramon said.
"I won't let you." Ranamon said as she stepped forward and tried to fight back.
"Dark Vapor!" Ranamon unleashed a cloud of dark vapor and had it surround both of their faces.
"What is this?!" MetalSeadramon said.
"Yuck! It smells like rotten fish!" Puppetmon complained as they both tried to getaway from it.
"That's not going to hold them off for very long. You all better get out of here." Ranamon said.
"We will, but you're coming with us!" Musuko said as he grabbed Ranamon and they all tried to make a run for it. Each of their digimon got their partners and flew off while they still could. When the vapor finally cleared away, the two could see they were all gone.
"They got away, and they still have the stone!" Puppetmon claimed.
"I can see that. I thought capturing our old enemies would mean we wouldn't have any trouble, but it looks like we got a new bunch of brats to deal with." MetalSeadramon claimed. Their first encounter against the Dark Masters didn't go so well for them, but this fight is far from over.

The Digidestined
Musuko and the others were able to escape from the two Dark Masters, but their digimon were injured. Once they found a safe spot for them to rest, they took the time to try and recover.
"Are you guys going to be okay?" Koji asked
"Those guys hit rather hard, but I think we should be okay." Gatomon said.
"But what were we thinking? Those two are both megas. We should have become Seraphimon and UkforceVeedramon." Veemon figured. "We could have taken him easily if we did that."
"I doubt it would have been easy." Gatomon said. Those two are powerful. They won't be easy to beat. Not to mention that we have two others to deal with."
"How are we going to beat them and get our parents back?" Natalie questioned as it wasn't looking good for them.
"Ranamon, thank you for helping us." Benson said
"Of course. It's the least I could have done after what you kind kids did for me." Ranamon said.
"That being said, they're after that stone you have." Benson said. "That means they'll be after you. They want that stone for themselves."
"You really think so?" Ranamon said as she didn't like the sound of that with her holding the bag tightly. "Even so, I can't give this up. It might be our only chance to defeat the likes of Mercurymon."
"But maybe there's a way we can help each other." Benson said.
"What are you thinking, cousin?" Natalie questioned.
"Those guys know that Ranamon has that stone they want." Benson said. "That means they'll come after her and she can't fight them alone. So if we help Ranamon, Mercurymon can go down."
"You mean you're going to help me get to Vajramon and end Mercurymon's reign?" Ranamon asked.
"We will, but I do hate to ask. If we help you defeat this Mercurymon, you need to give us the stone." Benson said. "Maybe we can use it to get our parents back."
"I get it now. Helping Ranamon could help us." Natalie said.
"Also, I don't like that we have to turn away from Ranamon and all those digimon that need help." Koji said.
"Wow. You're all brave for some small and young children." Ranamon said as she was touched by their bravery and commitment. "I also would want you to get your parents back. It's a deal. Once Mercurymon is defeated, the stone is yours. We'll defeat Mercurymon and save your parents." It sounds like they might be able to kill two birds with one stone by doing this, and that's what they plan to do.
...
The Dark Masters
"You had it and then you lost it?" Piedmon questioned. MetalSeadramon and Puppetmon returned to their base and they told Piedmon and Machinedramon all about what happened.
"We know who has it now, but we didn't expect to meet some resistance from other digimon...and humans." MetalSeadramon claimed.
"What was that? More humans to get in our way?" Machinedramon questioned. "But the fools that got in our way before are now our prisoners."
"Well, that's what happened. It looks like we got another group of brats that want to ruin everything for us." MetalSeadramon claimed.
"Well, it sounds like we have a new cast of characters in this little act of ours." Piedmon said as he found amusement in this. "That's quite fine. It makes things much more interesting this way."
"There's one other thing I think you should know." Puppetmon claimed. "Those kids looked pretty similar to our prisoners."
"What? What do you mean they looked similar to our old enemies?" Piedmon questioned.
"We'll, there was one that looked just like my old playmate, T.K. There was also one that looked like that little girl from all those years ago, but was a boy." Puppetmon claimed. "Other than the blue dragon, they even have the same partners. They were also saying how they want their parents back."
"Parents?" Piedmon questioned. He took in what he was just told and smirked. He knows what this all means and took pleasure in it. "Fate certainly has quite the sense of humor. This makes things a lot more amusing."
...
Mercurymon
Meanwhile, things were happening at a coliseum in the middle of the woods. It was the home away from home for this Mercurymon. In this arena, he watched from the stands like a Roman emperor. He watched with delight as digimon were forced to fight each other for his own amusement.
"Okay. That's enough." Mercurymon said as he managed to stop the fighting by just saying so. "I've had my enjoyment for now. Very well done, Vajramon." Vajramon was Ranamon's friend, but he stood over fallen digimon. "You are quite the fighter."
"Enjoy it while you can, Mercurymon! Your time will come to an end soon enough!" Vajramon called.
"Is that a threat to your ruler? Vajramon, the sooner you accept that this is your fate, the easier this will get for you." Mercurymon claimed, but Vajramon refused to accept that. "Perhaps some time locked away will help persuade you." Mercurymon snapped his fingers and had his Knightmon grab Vajramon and took him away. Mercurymon really is a tyrant, but Vajramon is doing his best to try and keep his composure. The Knightmon took him away and threw him in a cage. As Vajramon stood in there, he looked around to the other unfortunate digimon being forced to fight.
"Forgive me for all of this." Vajramon said as he felt bad for all of this and forced to fight his fellow prisoners. 'Ranamon, I hope you don't get caught in this.' He thought, but he doesn't know hope is coming to him.
...
The Digidestined
The kids and the digimon still continued to rest to get all of their strength back. If they're going up against some powerful forces with their small group, they're going to need all of their strength. As they were all resting, Musuko looked up to the sky and was in deep thought.
"You okay?" Natalie asked. "Are you worried about your mom?"
"What makes you ask that?" Musuko asked.
"Because we're all worried about them." Natalie said. "At least you still have your dad. Those creeps got both of my parents."
"I'm not all that worried because we're going to get them back." Musuko said. "We're going to make those four creeps pay for taking them and we're going to get them back."
"Yeah, but these four are enemies our parents have faced before, and now they somehow came back." Natalie said. "I'm sure they're a lot stronger, and our parents probably had a hard time against them when they were kids."
"What is this? The Natalie Ishida I know doesn't worry about losing." Musuko said. "When she does worry, she works even harder to make sure we win. This is just like a soccer game. We're in the playoffs and we have to work even harder to make it to the final game and be the champs."
"Wow. Who knew you could talk like that?" Natalie joked, but it did help her feel better. Just then, they heard footsteps heading their way.
"You going to the big event?"
"And miss that possible carnage? I don't think so." They both took a look and saw two Knightmon walking by, and it seemed like they haven't noticed them yet.
"More Knightmon." Natalie said. "Maybe if we take them prisoner, we can get them to talk."
"But how do we get those big tin cans?" Musuko questioned.
"You can leave that part to me." Both of them saw Ranamon stepping forward and doing something to help.
"Who do you think is going to take the gold?"
"Who cares? I'm just excited to see an amusing show." As the two of them kept walking and talking, rain started to pour down on them. "Was it suppose to rain today?" Just then, they were both feeling rather week and collapsed. By the time they woke up, they found themselves tied up and were now taken prisoner by children and Ranamon.
"What is the meaning of this?"
"Do you not know who we work for?"
"Yeah. Some jerk named Mercurymon." Veemon said.
"You guys are going to tell us where we can find him so that we can take him down." Musuko claimed.
"Preposterous."
"You dare defy Mercurymon? He shall punish all of you."
"You talk like he's important, but he sounds like a big metal heard to me." Musuko said.
"What were you talking about earlier?" Natalie questioned. "What's this big event?"
"It will be the ultimate showdown for our prisoners."
"They will fight each other until only one is left standing. It will be a fight to the very finish for them. It will be so amusing." That's what they think, but they all hated how that sounded.
"Vajramon..." Ranamon said as she was deeply worried for him now.
"Why would you do that?" Koji said.
"We need some way to make room for new prisoners." They claimed with it sounding so cynical. "It all starts tomorrow."
"That means we don't have a lot of time." Musuko said. "We've got to save Vajramon and save all the other prisoners. Mercurymon is going down." All of them were in full agreement with that. First, Musuko and the others will take down this Mercurymon, and then the Dark Masters are next.
...
Next time, the children decide to take it to Mercurymon by storm. As they do, the Dark Masters join in as well. It's a battle for survival and for the stone.
