In order to find the treasure that everyone wanted, the children had to solve a series of riddles to find where the treasure was hiding. What they weren't aware of was that they were being followed by two of the Dark Masters. As they made their way through the island, they soon found themselves at the last riddle. Once they cleared that, they could get the treasure, but the Dark Masters intend to steal that treasure right from under them.

The Golden Pirate
"Come and get it! Lunch is ready!" Yolei called as she was serving her family. Since none of the Ichijojis were missing, they could go on with their lives like everything was normal.
"Thanks, Mom." Her kids said as they were all eating.
"Thanks, Yolei. Looks great." Ken said.
"I try. Ken, could you give me a hand with something." Yolei said. Ken got up from his seat and went into the kitchen.
"You worried about those kids or our friends?" Ken questioned as he knew what this was about.
"Both." Yolei said. She looked to her own children and is grateful they weren't mixed up in any of this. "I can't believe those kids. They have some nerve."
"Maybe, but we were about the same more or less. I'm sure they'll all be back soon." Ken said.
"You're right. After all, they have their digimon. They'll protect them." Yolei said. They tried to put on brave faces, but they still couldn't stop worrying. Those might not be their kids out there, but it's still their family.
...
The Digital World
Musuko and the others succeeded in finding the location of where the treasure might be. Just when they did, they ran into trouble with MetalSeadramon and Puppetmon.
"How did they get here? I thought they couldn't find this place without the map?" Patamon questioned.
"You creeps followed us!" Natalie claimed.
"We sure did. Thanks for finding it for us." Puppetmon mocked.
"Now get out of our way! That treasure is ours!" MetalSeadramon said.
"Make us!" Musuko challenged.
"I'm glad you said that." MetalSeadramon claimed.
"River of Power!" MetalSeadramon fired right at them with all of them trying to move out of the way of the blast. When the blast connected, the impact blew them all around and left a clear opening for those two.
"Puppetmon, go get the treasure. I'll stay and finish these brats off once and for all." MetalSeadramon said.
"Sounds good to me." Puppetmon said. He hurried right into the cave and was on his way of getting the treasure.
"Puppetmon's going for the treasure!" Mason called
"Not if I can help it! Let's go, Patamon!" Benson said as he hurried to the cave to stop Puppetmon.
"Oh no you don't!" MetalSeadramon called as he dived right at Benson to stop him.
"That's close enough!" Olegmon called as he jumped in the way and stopped MetalSeadramon. "Hookmon, go with the boy and secure the treasure!"
"I'm on it!" Hookmon said as he hurried inside and went with Benson.
"No one is going anywhere!" MetalSeadramon said as he made another attempt to stop them, but Olegmon gave him a powerful strike and knocked him back.
"That treasure be mine!" Olegmon said.
"Let's go, Veemon!" Musuko said as he was joining in the fight.
"Yeah! Time to slay a serpent!" Veemon said.
"Veemon warp digivolve to...UlforceVeedramon!"
"We can't stand around and do nothing!" Biyomon said.
"Yeah! Let's join in the fight!" Palmon said as they were both willing to fight.
"Biyomon digivolve to...Birdramon!"
"Birdramon digivolve to...Garudamon!"
"Palmon digivolve to...Togemon!"
"Togemon digivolve to... Lillymon!"
All three of the digimon stood with Olegmon and was ready to fight.
"Koji, let's join in!" Gatomon said.
"Right." Koji said as he grabbed his digivice. Just before they could do anything, a set of sparkles came around Gatomon. They glittered around Gatomon until she passed out. "Gatomon!" He called as he hurried to her and tried to help her.
"What happened?!" Musuko questioned.
"I don't know." Koji said as this was rather strange.
"No worries." Olegmon said as he pulled out his twin axes. "The four of us will have him swimming in Davey Jones' locker!" He charged right in to attack.
...
Puppetmon
Puppetmon made his way down the cave and soon found what he was looking for. He found himself in a cavern with a waterfall and water in the area, but right in the middle was a huge pile of gold coins and other treasure.
"Ooh! Pretty, but there's on only thing I need." Puppetmon said as he jumped right over to the pile and landed on took just one chest. "Got it!"
"Stop!" He looked towards the entrance and saw Hookmon and Benson there. "You're not leaving with anything!" Hookmon said as he fired right at Puppetmon, but he easily jumped out of the way.
"Time to break that freaky toy, Patamon." Benson said as he got his digivice.
"Patamon warp digivolve to...Seraphimon!"
Seraphimon flew straight at Puppetmon and tried to stop him, but Puppetmon pulled out his hammer and knocked Seraphimon away with it.
"You can the rest. This is the only one I really need." Puppetmon claimed.
"Why would he take just that one chest?" Benson questioned.
"That might be the most valuable piece here! I won't let him have it!" Hookmon said as he jumped straight at Puppetmon.
"No! Stop!" Benson said as he knew Hookmon can't beat Puppetmon, but it was too late. When Hookmon made a brave attempt to try and stop Puppetmon, Puppetmon swung his hammer and easily swatted Hookmon like a fly. Hookmon hit the cave wall and fell into the water.
"You lose and I win!" Puppetmon cheered as he tried making a run for it, but Seraphimon got in the way.
"You're not going anywhere, especially with that." Seraphimon claimed.
"Who's going to stop me?" Puppetmon taunted.
...
Outside
"Flower Cannon!"
"Wing Blade!" Garudamon and Lillymon attempted to fight back against MetalSeadramon, but their attacks just bounced right off him. He just charged right in and smashed against the both of them.
"Is that the best you can do?!" MetalSeadramon mocked. UlforceVeedramon attempted an attack with his sword, but MetalSeadramon used his armor to block his attack. When that happened, he swatted UlforceVeedramon away with his tail.
"I got him!" Olegmon said as he made his own attempt at an attack, but MetalSeadramon just slithered around him. "He might be made of metal, but he's as slippery as an eel." As the digimon were fighting, the kids were tending to Gatomon and getting her to wake up.
"Gatomon, wake up! Please!" Koji pleaded as he was worried something was really wrong with her.
"How's she doing?" Musuko questioned.
"It doesn't look good, and we could sure use her help." Natalie said. Something was going on with Gatomon and it wasn't natural. Gatomon was in a dream-like state at the moment. Inside that dream, it was like something was trying to tell her about what she needs to know.
"Looks like we'll have to handle this without her." Mason said.
"We're down a crew mate? No worries." Olegmon claimed as he stood with him ready to protect the kids if he needs to. "A captain knows how to protect his crew."
"I find it weird that a pirate would protect anyone other than himself and his treasure." MetalSeadramon claimed.
"Shows what you know. Some pirates do pillage and steal, but not all are like that." Olegmon claimed. "This pirate has a heart of gold."
"Let's see if it's as strong as gold." MetalSeadramon said as he powered up another attack.
"River of Power!" MetalSeadramon fired another blast, but Olegmon crossed his axes and tried to hold his own against the attack.
"Hurry! Strike now!" Olegmon called. All three of the digimon attacked together while MetalSeadramon was keeping his attack going. All three of them landed a stroke of their own, but they barley managed to strike him.
"He barely felt it!" Lillymon said.
"His body is coated in chrome digizoid, a powerful metal of the Digital World. It's not going to be easy to break through." Garudamon said.
"But it will be easy for me to beat you!" MetalSeadramon claimed as he fired another blast that blew through them. The force of the attack caused Lillymon and Garudamon to turn back into Palmon and Biyomon. "You brats don't stand a chance against me. Now you're finished!" MetalSeadramon dived at them again, but Olegmon knocked him away.
"Didn't I make it clear that a captain protects his crew?" Olegmon said. He attacked again with his axes, but MetalSeadramon slithered out of the way again.
"Lets just see how big that heart of gold you have really is!" MetalSeadramon claimed as he was aiming for the kids again.
"No!" Olegmon called as he tried to get in the way. MetalSeadramon fired another blast, but Olegmon got in the way of the blast and took it, but he didn't have a chance to protect himself.
"Olegmon!" Musuko called as he looked really hurt.
"You'll pay for that!" UlforceVeedramon claimed as he was ready to finish this fight.
"Go ahead and try." MetalSeadramon said as he was ready himself.
"MetalSeadramon!" All of them looked to the cave and saw Puppetmon running out with the chest.
"Puppetmon! Did you get it?!" MetalSeadramon said.
"I sure did." Puppetmon said.
"Wait! Stop!" Seraphimon called as he and Benson came out and tried helping Hookmon out.
"Too late. We win and you lose." Puppetmon said as he opened up the chest and showed what was in it: a shining blue stone.
"It looks just like the stone Ranamon had, but it's blue." Natalie said. The kids almost couldn't believe it.
"That's not all! The symbol is different!" Benson said as he could see it. "I think that's another one of the crests."
"That's right. We got the one of friendship." Puppetmon teased.
"Thee crest of friendship? Dad told me that belongs to Uncle Matt." Benson said.
"My dad's crest?" Natalie questioned.
"And now it's ours. Bye." Puppetmon claimed as he and MetalSeadramon teleported out of there.
"Wait!" Musuko called, but it did no good. "They got away again!"
"And now they took another stone. What do they want with those?" Mason questioned.
"We'll deal with that later. Let's make sure everyone is okay." Natalie said as they do have some injured digimon.
...
Later
Even though they weren't able to stop the Dark Masters from taking one piece of treasure, the others were free to grab what they could and take care of the injured. Luckily, Hookmon and Olegmon were going to be okay and recover.
"Grab every piece you can." Olegmon said as his crew was taking all the gold.
"Is it really okay to take all of this?" Biyomon asked.
"Finders keepers. That's the life of treasure hunting." Olegmon claimed.
"But the Dark Masters took what might have been the most valuable." Natalie said.
"That's fine. The treasure itself is the reward for a great adventure." Olegmon claimed as he wasn't doing this for money. He really does have a heart of gold.
"Gatomon, please wake up." Koji pleaded as Gatomon still want awake. Gatomon was still dreaming, but something happened in that dream. It was like she was talking to something or someone, telling her what she needs to know. She finally woke up with Koji glad to see that. "You're awake! Are you okay?!"
"I know what we have to do." Gatomon said.
...
In the next adventure, the children learn what their true mission is. At the same time, they have another digimon they must rescue from the likes of Machinedramon.
