I'm sorry this is so long!

Chapter 4

.....

His fingers couldn't help but open the subsection of the blinds yet again, letting a tiny speckle of the bright sunlight inside. Giant brown kitty eyes and his own ravaged the roads and entrance of the building across for-

"How many damn times are you going to do that?"

Laxus had gruff voice that always made him hesitate but this time he jumped forward in surprise, smushing his full face into the window. The fleeting view helped him make sure the monstress wasn't there, but he pulled a scowl and turned back to an irritated Laxus.

Happy fled the scene and jumped to a nearby table, out of the crossfire but watched the two with curiosity.

Natsu couldn't help but whine," You don't get ittt~ She thinks I'm some kind of perv just waiting to jump on her. She's the type to just murder me in broad daylight, I can't risk it."

Laxus huffed back at him," Why the fuck. Are you backing up over a damn girl like that. She ain't no Erza, you'll be fine. Get to work already!" with that Laxus crossed the living room with Natsu in hand, as if he were nothing but a trash bag waiting to be thrown out.

After chucking the pyromaniac into the hallway and watching a blue ball of fur tumble with him as if he was also thrown, Laxus let his frustrations spew out of him," She's not a target you gotta monitor the minute you wake up, she's not gonna attack you and if she did- I bet it's for a reason. This is that broad you wanna to fuck right?"

"I DID NOT SAY THAT- "Poor Natsu couldn't even finish his sentence when he saw Laxus's fist, a literal weapon of mass destruction, rise up in a promise. He let out a whimper because it was almost as if there were sparks flying off Laxus, energizing more from his rage.

Laxus's stature was barely contained by the doorframe while intimidating him "AND I DON'T GIVE A FUCK. STOP MOPING AND GET TO WORK ALREADY." With that, he slammed the door on Natsu's defeated form.

Pushing himself off the ground with a sigh, Natsu agreed with the lightning head (Hot head just doesn't suit him). He couldn't keep living in this schedule, and he creeped himself out too. He was almost like a stalker, actually, no he was behaving like a stalker. Maybe 'Luigi' was onto something or maybe she was turning him into one.

'Luigi' was someone he can't keep off his mind no matter how hard he tried. After their horrific second incident, he tried to redeem himself by focusing on jobs with Gray and Erza, but the problem was he kept looking over his shoulder. His own nose betrayed him and would sniff out her scent, or rather where she was. His eyes would hyperfocus anytime he saw even the slightest golden tinge on someone's head. He was terrified she would show up and he'd turn into the pervert she thinks he is. Or he suddenly becomes. No, wait, that she thinks he is.

His 'wrongdoings' to her chest have been plaguing his mind and he's begun to question himself with things he never thought about.

Am I a pervert?

Boobs.

Is this gonna make me stronger cause Gildartz is definitely a pervert too.

'Luigi's' boobs.

Will I ever stop doing the wrong thing? Did I get infected by that pervert? What if I start taking off my clothes too?!

'Luigi's' enormous boobs.

It all came back to them, the things that trapped him in their omnipotence.

It wasn't as though Natsu wasn't a health young man. Of course, he noticed when someone was pretty or curvaceous and frankly, he's seen plenty of the combination at Fairy Tail and in general. He could throw a rock into a crowd, and it'd probably skip over a dozen of those types. He's even had tiny crushes when he was younger, one of them being his own primary school teacher. Actually…he barely remembered what Anna sensei looked like, but he could've sworn 'Luigi' reminded him of her. Maybe that's why!

Nah, even with that correlation he knew his odd fascination with 'Luigi' was bizarre to him. He never felt the need to know someone, especially when he didn't even know anything about them. Not even her name?!

If Natsu took an initiative or interest to know someone, it was usually because he wanted to absorb their abilities, not because she looked like a marshmallow in her last dress.

A marshmallow he'd roast over an open fire and chow down on.

"EURGH. NO! NOT AGAIN! STOP THINKING THAT! NO. MARSHMALLOWS!" The Magnolia populace that was bustling by and enjoying the bright, sunny and calm day all leapt at the pink-haired man's outburst and his pained war cries. They held their breath as he crumpled and held onto the railing of the sidewalk, his little blue cat pawing at his face in encouragement to get up.

"Mommy, why does Salamander hate marshmallows?" The little boy from the last chapter, now donning a complete hat to shoes outfit in Fairy Tail merchandise, looked up to ask his mother. She shook her head and yanked her son further along their path and away from 'Salamander'.

Meanwhile, Natsu willed himself to continue walking and blissfully ignored the wandering eyes of the townspeople. They were all ready for him to turn into a mini-Gildartz and destroy everything he touched.

Actually, to make up for a single mini-Gildartz it would take hundreds of mini-Natsu's. However, for now they knew that Natsu just… burned everything he touched.

Collectively, they decided any amount of mini-Natsu are much worse for their wellbeing.

Natsu barely avoided a wooden chair being thrown near his head, dodging it as if one would a fly.

As per usual, Fairy Tail was engaging in yet another full house brawl. Normally Natsu would join in, using any excuse to throw the chair back at someone. Instead, he trudged his way towards the bar and hung his head in his hands.

"Awe~ What happened Natsu? Did Laxus bully you again?" Mirajane couldn't help but giggle, she always found the older man's antics and aggressive ways comical especially when he flipped from zero to fight and only fight modes.

Natsu let his face fall onto the counter as he cried out," He did! But that's not why~" Mirajane's simple smile widened in curiosity.

"Then how come?" Natsu finally lifted his head to face her but couldn't as an unexpected fist made contact with his jaw.

"Prolly, something to do with Lucy!" Gray said with a grunt and gloated as Natsu's body trampled through the crowd from the force.

It was as if a switch turned off, Mirajane's eyes began to glow almost…demonically. She felt an ancient desire in her began to unfold. In unadulterated desperation, she almost begged," Who is-!"

Natsu came back and leapt with both legs aiming at Gray, but latter grabbed both legs and began to twirl Natsu at a dizzy pace. Natsu then latched onto his neck and the two began to wrestle the other before he exclaimed,

"Who the hell is Lucy, you damn stripper!?" Gray groaned in annoyance before pushing Natsu off him.

He then lightly chuckled under his strained breath," I'm not surprised you don't even have the brains to remember the girl you harassed. TWICE."

Natsu slapped him and didn't even pretend he knew what he was talking about, they were going to continue their usual clash until they were torn apart by another force.

Their bodies began shivering before they looked up, only one person was able to separate them like they were nothing but an ice cream sandwich and it was-

Oh, Mirajane?

It's Mirajane.

Actually, there's a handful of people that can but they just thought it was going to be Erza again.

A dark shadow fell on the beautiful barmaid's face, and eerie mist almost spread around them and they resumed to shivering.

"Mi-Mira! Did we cross the line today? We're very sorry and we-"

The two squealed and held onto each other as she took slow steps towards them, the entire guild became silent and watched the spectacle. Even a red-head enjoying her strawberry cake was curiously watching as her normal spot was taken over.

Natsu and Gray interlocked each other's hands and hugged, before they began shivering again as Mira's shadow engulfed them.

"We promise to be good boys!" Teeth clattering, bodies trembling, and eyes watering. They didn't know what to expect.

Instead, with a sickly-sweet smile, Mira tilted her head and asked.

"Who is Lucy?"

Gray released a sigh of relief and turned towards Natsu to resolve them from this situation.

Natsu, instead, was looking back at him with furrowed brows.

Silence fell for the first time in a while at Fairy Tail.

Irritated at the moment that passed, Natsu breathed out," Well, tell her. Who's Lucy?"

Gray's face crumpled but regained full rage as he yelled," Who else you fucking moron?! The blonde chick, Juvia's friend, the girl you keep trying to fuck!" a unanimous astonished gasp broke out amongst the onlookers.

It all suddenly clicked.

"Oh…You mean Luigi."

Gray facepalmed at his stupid companion's statement, "No you idiot, it's-oh. Oh Mavis."

Natsu was so intrigued at what he was saying, he prodded him "What? That's her name? Lucy? That girl I keep running into? How did you know her name before me? I'm not trying to do anything to her, she keeps beating me up." Despite his curiosity, he kept asking questions, too distracted to wonder why Gray kept more and more panicked suddenly and why he began sweating profusely but frozen in fear.

"Natsu."

Erza stood as a beast behind him, a scowl painted heavily on her face while she watched his head slowly turn towards her unnerving eyes.

"Was this the young maiden you offended with your male-oriented vulgarity?" Natsu meekly turned away and decided to weigh his options on the matter.

No, he didn't actually. Instead, he decided to let go of Gray, and got up without answering the question. He then screamed," ERZA! FIGHT ME!"

Hours later, when he finally woke up, he nursed his head, body, feet and soul in an ice pile with the other guild members caught in the daily fight. He never stood a chance against Erza, but he couldn't help it. He had an impulsive nature that superseded his common sense.

Gray groaned above him in another higher ice pile, and began scooping up chips in his hands before laying them on himself like a blanket. "You damn idiot. You did this" he muttered in pain towards Natsu.

The other bodies around them groaned in agreement, having been innocent bystanders turned to casualties simply by being in the path of Erza's wrath.

Mustering his remaining strength, Natsu turned his form on its side. His cheek sizzled in the mini-glacier but he couldn't stop himself from asking his ice cold companion," How do you know her?"

Gray knew what he was talking about and debated not saying anything to get on the idiot's nerves but knowing him he'd probably restart a fight just to beat the information out of him. Even he noticed after deciphering Natsu's daily ramblings that the idiot was interested in her and had no idea what to do.

"She's Juvia's friend, they hang out a lot. She thinks you're gross." He said curtly.

Natsu's eyes held an interested glint," So…she thinks about me."

Gray groaned," No flame brain, she wants nothing to do with you."

A moment of silence passed, and Gray peered over and was surprised at the downcast look in on Natsu's bruised face. He didn't want to be nice to the moron but even Gray had to admit that since meeting the blonde, Natsu was a little different for the better. Maybe? Even he held a miniscule-scale torch for them.

He knew that their interactions weren't the right scenarios for Natsu's character, and maybe Lucy too since the former describe her as a 'raging spirit with no mercy'.

But how do you get two people who are in different ways scared of the other to meet organically and work things out? He couldn't just ask Juvia for her number because:

A. She would declare Lucy a love rival and most likely murder her, he wasn't sure why he felt dead sure that someone as loving as her would kill their closest friend but that's his first thought.

B. That's just an obstruction of privacy.

He let out a groan he didn't know he was holding in for his friend's situation, but one more look at Natsu's somewhat sad eyes made him rev up his mind again. How do you make something like this the one right type of-Oh!

"THAT'S IT!"

Gray's sudden leap up caused the ice beneath them to rumble and fall apart, taking everyone that was lying on top of it to fall beneath it.

A pink-haired head bobbed out of the small pile of water near only him and scowled," HEY! What's the big idea!"

A lacrima screen was put right in front of his eyes, he watched a moving mesh of iridescent glittering sphere as an icon on the screen before turning into Bisca Mulan.

He and the other disgruntled men became confused before muttering what they saw on the screen. Some of the men began to put the pieces together of their single and looking to mingle fellow Fairy Tail member.

"Bisca…twenty-five…interests are anything with guns? What are you even showing me? Why are you showing me Bisca, I already know that stuff about her."

As the other men around them began to scuttle about and scan around the area for her, a green-haired girl at a table in the hall began to sneeze.

Gray sighed for what felt like the thousandth time that day, "Figures you wouldn't know what it is, it's called 'The One Magic'. It connects to people near you, and you can talk to them or meet them in person."

Natsu stared in confusion up at the man in his boxers, the puddle around him getting bigger and now drenching his undershirt and casual vest. He paid no heed and waited for Gray to continue.

Gray pointed at the screen and then pointed at Natsu," You. Download this, use it at home. Swipe right on her and then tell her what really happened, and maybe she'd be okay not ripping your head off if you see each other in public."

Natsu still looked unconvinced and took the device out of Gray's hands and began to swipe rapidly to which Gray began sputtering," NO! Your own phone, dumbass. You set up what you like and then it'll just try to find someone like that. You live right across from her, and she's bound to have this." He finished and grabbed the phone out of Natsu's hands.

Meanwhile, Natsu had a sketched-out look on his face before asking," …Hey, aren't you like a thing with that Juvia chick? Should you even have this?" Gray rolled his eyes before telling him to mind his own business and walked away.

That night, as Happy's tiny snores vibrated right into his ear canal, he was up.

But Natsu didn't really care about the noise, instead his eyes were wide awake by the screen illuminating his face.

'The One Magic' app had a lot of features. You could set up a distance range for people, an age range, even a height range? He was trying to figure out how he could set it to her, but he wasn't sure how to put lives across the street, probably younger, and tiny for her.

This could also be for naught if she doesn't have it though.

He could see that a lot of people, girls and boys, had liked him. Their profiles were blurred out as he hadn't selected anyone yet, but the number increased with every passing moment since he created the account. He didn't really care since he was only on this thing for one reason.

He swiped a few times to the left at some random names like Jenny, Minerva…Kagura…This was so boring.

But he chuckled when Lisanna's pictures popped up and her interests being Happy and animals. There were pictures of her at Fairy Tail, with her siblings, with Happy, and an interesting picture in a baby blue bikini from what he recognized as her bedroom. Why was she on the floor?

His own profile included only two pictures of himself, the first one being from a boxing match he won against Laxus which no one expected. He could see his eyes breathing fire and relived that day for a moment, and then stopped when he was about to remember that Laxus beat him up the next day as per usual. The second one on a little boat with Happy holding a fish in his mouth and Natsu staring at him with mirth. He didn't really take many pictures, but he wrote in his bio that his interests include setting things on fire and Happy. No further explanation necessary.

He dropped the gadget on his blanket and stared up the ceiling. Why was he even doing this? Natsu never downloaded something like this or even thought to because this was out of his scope. His interest in fixing the situation with the girl next door almost began to wane but he knew the moment he wakes up tomorrow, he's going to check the streets again out of habit.

Popping his neck a bit, he brought the phone close to his face and funnily swiped right on Lisanna. Maybe he could make fun of her for it tomorrow. Then the next profile showed a-

Wait.

He didn't realize how bleak he thought this solution was going to be until he got what he wanted.

That's her.

Lucy.

Less than 0.03 km from you.

Twenty years old.

170 cm.

His eyes were laser focusing on each one of the seven pictures she uploaded. The first one was of her smiling at a bookstore with her looking somewhat down at the camera. The second was of her in a business suit, it looked like a professional picture. The third was of her in pajamas, the symbol he recognized from Erza's wardrobe. The fourth was with an angry giant lady…with a plastic mermaids tail in a pool? She looked a bit younger in that picture. The fifth was with a weird animal that had almost a cone shaped snout. It almost looked like it was shivering in the still picture. The sixth had Levy! His fellow Fairy Tail member who unfolded codes with Freed. The last picture…

He recognized it from nearly a year ago.

It was her in the same white dress, in the same ocean, with the same look that he kept replaying in his mind.

He didn't even realize that his fingers were firmly pressing down the screen the whole time, so he didn't lift them when he swiped right with absolute assuredness.

That's how he found out there was another feature to the application, because a notification appeared right when he did it.

'Congratulations on your first super-liiike. You liiiiiiiiike her!'

The next chapter will be in someone else's POV!
