"What's the situation Megumi?"

The sorcerer and the witch looked behind them to see the strongest sorcerer had suddenly appeared from seemingly nowhere. Melinoe was relieved to have some help because whatever was inhabiting Yuji's body made Melinoe for the first time in a while fear for her life despite her immortality. She's used to dying and coming back as it was a part of the quest to slay the titan but whatever this was… it had her afraid.

"Sensei Gojo what are you doing here?" Melinoe asked her new teacher with her nocturnal arms still held up ready to fight Itadori.

"Yo! I wasn't gonna show up but it seems like you kids got pretty roughed up! I'm gonna show the second years, say cheese!" Gojo said, pulling out his phone and taking various pictures of the two with the flash on as both Melinoe and Megumi shielded their eyes from the flashes. "I got an earful from the higher ups because the special grade object is still missing so I decided to do a little sightseeing and stop by. You two find it yet?"

Megumi didn't say a word and looked to Melinoe for an answer as she didn't really know what to say either in fear for their sensei being angry "Well you see sensei Gojo…"

Yuji, watching the three with a blank face, spoke up and said to Satoru Gojo "Uh… sorry but I kinda ate that thing."

The three were silent for a moment as Gojo needed a second to process what he said "For real?"

"I did."

"He did."

"The whole thing."

The three of them replied to gojo at the same time. Gojo walked up to Yuji to examine if what they said really was true as he bent over to get a better look. Melinoe still doesn't understand how he can even do that wearing a blindfold…

"No kidding you two really did combine, that's hilarious! So feeling anything weird going on with your body?" Gojo asked Yuji.

"Nah, I feel pretty normal." Yuji replied.

"Can you swap with Sukuna at will?"

"Sukuna?"

"The curse you ate?"

"Oh that's his name? Oh yeah I can do that."

"Alright give us ten seconds and change right back into yourself" Gojo told Yuji as he began to stretch for the incoming fight.

"Sensei Gojo, I don't mean to doubt your abilities but are you sure it will be safe for you to fight this Sukuna curse that is possessing Yuji?" Melinoe asked her new teacher.

"Don't worry Mel, I'm way too strong for him anyway." Gojo said, giving a cocky smile to assure Melinoe everything will be fine. He tossed the bag he had with him over to Megumi and told him "Hold onto this for me won't ya Megumi?"

"What's in this?" The spiky haired sorcerer asked.

"Kikufuku mochi, I know you're a goddess and everything Mel and you probably don't need to eat but you gotta try this stuff. It's a Sandai specialty and it's super good!" Gojo said as both Megumi and Melinoe had the same thoughts that this man was buying snacks while people were out here dying. Melinoe was starting to regret her choices of having this man as a mentor.

"You were buying snacks… while mortals were dying…?" Melinoe asked her teacher as he responded "It's not just any snack, trust me it's gonna change your world Kikufuku is just the best-"

The three of them were too distracted by their conversation to notice Itadori had changed into Sukuna as the curse leapt into the air prepared to strike Gojo as Megumi shouted "Gojo look out!"

A cloud of dust was created by the attack from Sukuna as both Megumi and Melinoe shielded themselves from the attack as Melinoe was worried for her teacher's safety "Sensei Gojo are you okay?!"

As the cloud subsided Melinoe was met by the eyes of the curse itself as it made her spine shiver from fear, only to then see that her teacher was sitting on his back still talking about the mochi "I think it's the whipped cream inside that really makes the difference."

This curse was mad that he was being toyed with like this and turned to slash Gojo only to get it's arm caught and tossed aside. Sukuna attempted to hit Gojo but every strike was met with just air as Gojo kept teleporting around the rooftop further frustrating the curse "My student's are watching so I think I'll show off a little yeah?"

Sukuna attempted to backhand Gojo but once again missed as he dodged and stuck him across the face making Sukuna spin and land away from Gojo. Sukuna couldn't believe what he was fighting and neither could Melinoe, was he just unbelievably fast? No there had to be more, Gojo threw a punch at the air as the pressure of the air began to crack the rooftop sending ribble everywhere as Sukuna was shot backwards into the railing. "No matter what era I'm in you Jujutsu Sorcerers are always a pain in the ass!"

Sukuna ran up to the strongest sorcerer and with a clawed hand he swung up creating a blast that destroyed most of the building behind them with a large amount of dust being left behind from the impact. "But time doesn't really have much meaning for me- what?"

The dust subsided and Sukuna was shocked to see that Gojo didn't even have a scratch on him as he kept that smug smile on his face. Melinoe was brought off her feet from that attack but she and Megumi were unharmed from that attack and Melinoe assumes it was from that power Gojo had that during their first encounter couldn't allow Melinoe to hit him.

"7…8…9… and that's that." Gojo counted down as Sukuna froze, feeling Itadori begin to take back the body and in disbelief wondering how this kid could even resist the influence of The King of Curses. The black markings of Ryomen Sukuna faded from Itadori's body as he came back and asked Gojo "Hey, how did it go?"

"Look at that, you really can control that guy." Gojo said as rubble that was being kept around him suspended in air fell to the floor.

"He's kind of annoying though to tell the truth, I keep hearing his voice, can I turn it off or something?" Itadori asked, hitting his head to make the curse shut up.

"It's a miracle that's all he's doing to you." Gojo remarked as he came up to Itadori and with a tap of the teen's forehead Itadori was knocked clean out and falling into Gojo's arms.

"Is he…"

"I just knocked him out Mel, if Sukuna isn't possessing him when he wakes up then he might have the potential to be a vessel. Okay Megumi, what do you think we should do with him?" Gojo asked, turning to his spiky haired student for his take on the whole thing.

"Under Jujutsu regulation Itadori is to be executed… but I don't want him to die." Megumi responded.

"If it matters at all my answer then I wish to see Itadori live as well, there's no reason for him to perish at such a young age, he seems like a good kid and I don't wish for any harm to be put upon the innocent." Melinoe said to her teacher.

"So are these personal opinions?" Gojo asked as both of his students gave a nod.

"Can you save him?"

"A request from a good student? Leave it to me!" Gojo said with a thumbs up as Melinoe was relieved that the boy would be okay.

The commute back to Jujutsu Tech was uneventful but they needed a break from everything that had happened in one night. The two students had to drag Itadori back in Gojo's words "Like a drunk friend who passed out". Melinoe did get to try that Kikufuku Mochi Gojo told her about and you would not believe her if she said… she really didn't like it. Way too sweet for her tastes, how do mortals even eat this stuff? It's way too much for her tastebuds to the disappointment of her mentor who said she was probably the type to like black coffee whatever that's supposed to be.

Upon arriving back to Jujutsu Tech Gojo handled Itadori from there and let both Megumi and Melinoe get some rest for their long day despite the Goddess not needing to sleep that often. Melinoe tried to return Megumi's clothes despite the bottom of the boots being seared from Melinoe's burning feet but Megumi told her she could keep them because they didn't fit him anyways. The Goddess bid him a good night and left her little dorm room to find some way to pass the time, upon arriving to her room she immediately noticed a long box on her bed that had a little not on it. The goddess picked up the note and read the contents "Hey it's Gojo, someone left this at the front and it's addressed to you? Kinda weird but it's not my problem so have fun."

Strange… who would deliver a package to her especially when almost no one even knows about her besides Megumi and Gojo. Melinoe opened the long box and poured out the continents, which included something wrapped in paper. Upon tearing off all of the paper from the real package Melinoe's eyes widened and she audibly gasped as she took a step back from shock. What had been delivered to her was one of the Nocturnal Arms Descura. But how? Who managed to get their hands on one of the Nocturnal Arms? And kept in such pristine condition too, its condition being as well kept as the last time she used it.

Melinoe took the weapon and stepped outside to test if it really was the real deal. "Just as the Headmistress taught her, channel your magic into the staff… let it accept you… then strike." Melinoe tested out The Witch's Staff sending blasts of magic with every swing of the staff, she shot out a volley of projectiles, she even used her omega casts and in conclusion. Yes this was the real deal, it really was Descura…

She thought about it for a minute trying to come to a conclusion on who brought her her old Witch's Staff but really it wasn't too hard to figure out. Who other than the fastest of the gods and the one who is always in a hurry to make deliveries? None other than Hermes of course, the gods must still be in this world but whatever happened to them? Did they fight back against Chronos or did they lose the war? Melinoe did not have an answer but at least she might not be that alone after all…

"Lord Hermes if you are out there, thank you for all that you have done… I'm sorry I left in my family's time of need, may moonlight guide you." Melinoe said to the sky hoping that somehow the God of speed would somehow be able to listen to her as she went back inside and rested both the sister blades and the Witch's staff on her desk as she sat on her new bed. She didn't want to sleep but there was not much else to do other than ponder the fate of everyone she had met during her quest to slay the titan…

Melinoe opened up her codex and saw that there had been new entries placed in the book as she quickly turned to them. The codex always seemed to fill itself out but it was always Melinoe's honest feelings and observations about whoever was put into the pages of the codex. She flipped to one of the new pages and saw it was about Satoru Gojo as the Codex gave a near perfect drawing of the strongest sorcerer.

The codex read out

The Strongest as he claims himself to be…

You have seen his power first hand and it's more than you can ever hope to achieve. He seems to have an ego to rival that of a god's but it seems to be well deserved. You hope to learn more from him and discover a new strength in the form of cursed energy.

He may claim to be the strongest but Hecate could definitely beat him… right?

Flipping to another page the Goddess would find Megumi's entry with the codex reading.

One of the students of Satoru Gojo, you can never tell what he's feeling at any given time due to his expression only being one of perpetual annoyance. You can only hope that he doesn't despise you. He seems to have a good heart at least from what you gathered in your limited time being around him.

You really want to keep his Toad Shikigami.

Authors Notes

Shorter Chapter this time so I can transition to the next one better.

The gods still exist in the modern day world of Jujutsu Kaisen and someone delivered her witch's staff.

Honestly not much to say right now so thanks for reading, tell me your thoughts because I like reading them.
