Idea popped in my head and I needed to write it. I don't know if I want to keep this as a one-shot or not, so please let me know if you'd like me to continue it.
"It's different with her." Andy started."She makes me feel like I've never felt before." Andy smiled."She makes me smile and laugh, and it's just so easy with her. " Andy looks at Michelle."I used to say that."I confuse lust for love," but oh my god, I've never loved someone like this."
"Loved who like what?" Travis walked into the beanery where Andy thought it would be safe to talk to Michelle since no one else was there.
"No one." Andy was quick to reply, looking at Michelle with wide eyes.
"Uh huh. Sure, cap." Travis rolled his eyes.
"It's none of your business right now, Trav." Andy told him.
"What's none of his business?" Vic came in asking and Andy blushed.
"I- Uh. Nothing." Andy looks at her cousin, begging for her help.
"We were just talking about dating-" Michelle started but got cut off by Travis.
"Apparently our captain is in love with someone." Travis told Vic in a gossipy tone.
"Oh really?" Vic looks into Andy's eyes and decides to go along with Travis' teasing even though Andy's eyes were pleading with her to change the subject but Vic ignored Andy's look. "do we know this someone?"
"Yeah. Do we? Do we?" Travis asked Andy like a hyper child. "Who is he? Is he a firefighter?"
Andy looks down at the beanery table, not knowing what to say, but feeling backed into a corner.
"Vic, Travis, I think Andy-" Michelle got cut off but this time by Vic.
"Come on! Tell us? Who do you love?" Vic tried. Giving Andy a knowing look.
"Who loves who?" The group of four heard Maya ask, followed by Jack, Robert, Theo and Kate.
"No one. Guys I think I'm gonna head out. Walk me out, Andy?" Michelle stands up and holds her hand out for Andy to grab.
"NO. Andy doesn't get to leave until she tells us who she loves." Travis said.
"Andy loves someone?" Robert asked "I thought she was incapable of loving anyone. I mean just look at her history. Jack, Ryan-" Andy teared up at mention of her childhood best friend, but no one noticed "-me, I mean this new guy is probably gonna end up hurt as well. Because you "confuse lust for love" right?" Robert said, surprising Michelle by how hurtful that was. Michelle looked at Andy and knew she had to get 19s captain away from her team before she broke down.
"Guys, I really have to leave-" Michelle once again got interrupted.
"Come on. We're your family, Andy. Just tell us who he is" Maya tried.
Andy was still just looking down at the table, eyes watery, thinking about Robert's harsh words.
What if I end up hurting her? What if I ruin what we had before we started dating? What if I lose her entirely? Andy's thoughts continued to run wild when she felt a hand on her shoulder, shaking her.
"Andy," Michelle moved down to look her in the eyes. "Just walk me out"
"NO! We want to know why she's hiding him." Travis said.
Andy stands up and faces the group. "Who I love is no one's business but my own and who I'm in a relationship with." She sees Travis and Maya's mouths about to open and puts a hand up, silencing them. "I need to walk Michelle out so everyone get back to their damn chores before I make you run drills." Andy told them, starting to walk out when she gets blocked by Jack and Robert.
"Tell us who is he and we'll let you leave." Jack told the pair.
Andy looks them in the eyes "Captain's orders. Move out of the way. Now." Andy said with a tone in her voice that no one had heard before and they were shocked and it had shut them up, except for Robert.
"Why are you so scared of telling people about your relationship?" Robert pauses and chuckles "Well I guess it's actually a common trend. First Jack, then you kept Ryan a secret from Jack, and then there's me.-" Robert was going to keep going when Andy cut him off.
"You know why we had to keep us dating a secret, Robert!" Andy shouted "I don't think you really get an opinion after you and Ross hid your relationship." Andy told him.
"Just tell us who he is, Andy!" Jack tried
"It isn't a "he" it's a "HER" Okay?" Andy let out. "Everyone happy now?" Andy asked rhetorically and ran out of the room. Michelle just shook her head at the A shift members and chased after her cousin, leaving the beanery full of shocked firefighters.
