Disclaimer: I would like to confirm that I do not own the movie "Groundhog Day" as it is the property of Harold Ramis and Columbia Pictures. I also do not own "Fairy Tail" as well since that happens to be the property of Hiro Mashima.
Notice: This will be based off the movie itself, with some changes I plan to make to it. Be sure to like up my profile and check out my other stories I've written. Thank you for your support.
Chapter 1
Laxus Dreyar, was a local weatherman, with spiky blonde hair and a very muscular body. Ever since he was a kid, he always wanted to be a major news reporter. After graduating from high school, he spent 3 years in college, studying journalism to prepare himself for his career.
Unfortunately, life doesn't always turn out the way everyone plans them. Laxus had applied for a job as an anchorman and felt he met the qualifications for it. However, he was turned down for the job, but did offer him a position as a local weatherman. Disappointed, Laxus figured it was better than nothing and took the job.
After he spent a year reporting on the weather, he was finally given an opportunity to report some news. But once again, the kind of news he would be reporting was nothing major in particular. He was assigned to report entertainment news to the local "Groundhog Day" celebration. For the last six years he had been reporting this news. Laxus felt like his life could get nothing more pathetic than this.
He was in the middle of making his report on the weather, telling it in his own unique way.
"Some of you may ask, what would be the perfect place to travel in the middle of winter. My best bet would be Nevada, Vegas. After all, reports indicate that it will be sunny all week. Perfect time to be gambling, partying or painting the town red as some like to call it.
"Another state with perfect weather is California. The only thing you'd have to worry about in California are the gang wars and crazy overpriced merchandise. I mean, it's California after all.
"As for places like Washington and Oregon, nothing really special there, except for the tall trees.
"The rockies seem to be doing fine as the cold weather seems to be moving away. Which brings us back to where the cold weather seems to be heading. But according to the satellites, there's really nothing for us to worry about. While it seems the cold weather will be headed our way, it will change course and head towards Canada. Talk about a close call for us."
Laxus left the blank board where he was broadcasting the weather and went to sit down next to the anchorwoman, a young white-haired woman named Yukino Aguria. Not that Laxus couldn't stand her, he just couldn't understand how someone as young as her became a major news reporter.
Laxus continued on with the news. "While none of us have to be concerned about the weather, I won't be here to report for the 10 o'clock tomorrow. As you're all aware of, February 2 is Groundhog Day and I will be headed out to Punxsutawney, which is a town that actually celebrates the holiday about every year.
"Every single year?" Yukino said, surprised. "I've never heard of such a thing. It must be fun to celebrate to see a cute animal predict the weather. And I believe this is your 6th year reporting it, correct, Laxus?"
Laxus stared at Yukino annoyed and replied, "7th year, actually."
Yukino smiled. "I'm sorry, 7th." The cameraman gave the signal to Yukino that the news was going to commercial. Yukino faced the camera and reported: "When we come back, me and Miss Evergreen will be discussing this topic in entertainment on sex and violence in the movies. Stay with us."
"And we're clear," the cameraman told the crew.
