Chapter 1: Ruby Rose and Lana O'Hara

Narrator: "Legends. Stories scattered through time. Mankind has grown quite fond of for counting the exploits of heroes and villains. Forgetting so easily that we are remnants byproducts of a forgotten past. Man, born from dust, was strong, wise, and resorcful. But he was born into an unforgiving world. And inevitable darkness- creatures of destruction, The creatures of Grimm set their sites on man and all of his creations. These forces clashed, and it seemed the darkness was intent on returning man's brief existence to the void.

"However, even the smallest spark of hope is enough to ignite change. And in time, man's passion, resourcefulness, and ingenuity led them to the tools that would help even the odds. This power was appropriately named dust. Nature's wrath in hand, man lit their way through the darkness. And in the shadow's absence, came strength, civilization, and most importantly, life. But even the most brilliant lights eventually flicker and die. And when they are gone, darkness will return.

"So you may prepare your guardians, build your monuments to a so-called "free world". But take heed. There will be no victory in strength."

Man: "But perhaps, victory is in the simpler things that you've long forgotten. Things that require a smaller, more honest soul."

Hi, my name is Lana, and this is my story in the world of RWBY. Before we go on, let me introduce myself and explain how I got here.

My name is Lana as I mentioned before. I have long brown curly hair, hazel eyes, and a white-toned skin color. I have a visible scar on my right eye and the top half of my left ear cut off from when I was abused. For my style of clothing, I like to wear graphic T-shirts and leggings. I wear turtlenecks and hoodies in the wintertime.

I am also a 14-year-old girl.

I live in a mansion in Brooklyn New York with my family. I have a big family. My biological parents are Miles and Gwen. I am happily married to my wife, Margo but the same can't be said for my husband, Miguel though. A while back, Miguel kidnapped me and Miles when he was trying to stop a canon event from happening. He then forced me to marry him. He forced Miles to marry him as well to ensure we wouldn't go try and change the canon event timeline.

Miguel abuses me and Miles. He has strict rules for us to follow. If we don't follow the rules, we get whipped. If we did anything to piss him off, he would beat us. He uses us for his own sexual desires which is sick. He would often come into our room and rape us or make us have sex with him until he is satisfied.

For the rest of my family, I have grandparents, Rio and Jefferson, who are Miles' parents. I have another grandparent, George Stacy who is Gwen's father but isn't around now. Gwen doesn't have a good relationship with her dad, so she doesn't see him often.

My best friends are Hobie and Pavitr. My uncle is Peter B. Parker who is Miles' best friend. My mentor is Jessica Drew.

Now that I have introduced myself and my family, let's get back to the story.

I am wandering the streets, not having any idea where I am. If your wondering why, I ran away from home. I ran away because I was tired of being abused by my husband, Miguel. I feel bad for leaving my family behind but I had to for my own safety because of Miguel's threats.

I kept wandering until I saw a girl in the Dust Till Dawn shop not far from me. She had short red and black hair, silver eyes, and wore a black dress consisting of a long-sleeved blouse with a high collar and red trim on the sleeves, over which is a black waist cincher with red lacing up the front, and a matching skirt with red lining and a red petticoat. She also wears a pair of thick black tights that fade to red near the bottom, and black combat boots with red laces, red trims around the top, and red soles. Her outfit is topped by a red hooded cloak fastened to her shoulders by cross-shaped pins. Her emblem appears as a large silver buckle on her wide black belt, which is slung around her hips at an angle. Attached to her belt are a pocket and a row of bullets.

I walked inside the shop. I wanted to call out to her to ask her where I was but she seemed preoccupied reading her magazine with her headphones over her head. I slowly approached her.

"Excuse me?" I asked the girl. The girl took off her headphones and looked at me.

"Hm?" She said.

"Do you know where I am? I am lost." I said.

"Oh, you're in the city of Vale. My name is Ruby." The red-haired girl said.

"Nice to meet you. I am Lana." I said. I looked at Ruby's outfit and noticed a weapon tucked behind her back.

"Is that a weapon?" I asked her.

"Yes!" Ruby said excitedly. Ruby took out her weapon to show me. "This is my sweet baby Cresent Rose. It's a scythe too."

"Wow," I said, looking at the weapon with admiration. Ruby looks at my web shooters that are on my wrists.

"Ooh, what are those?" Ruby asks me with curiosity.

"They are my web shooters. In my world, I'm Spider-Woman, like my parents." I said. Ruby seemed fascinated when I mentioned I was a superhero.

"Awesome," Ruby said. "Hey, I'm gonna look around for a bit more. You are welcome to stay with me, after I am done here, I can show you around."

"Okay, thanks!" I said. I looked around the shop while I waited for Ruby to finish. The Dust Shop had many cool things. I studied each Dust color. I saw some weapons on display too.

Then, a group of men walked inside the shop. The leader's henchmen walked behind him. The leader looked like he meant business.

The leader had orange hair, green eyes, and wore a red-lined white suit with long black pants and black shoes. His accessories included a small gray scarf, black gloves with buckled sleeves, and a black bowler hat with a small feather tucked into its red band.

"Do you have any idea how hard it is to find a Dust Shop open this late?" The man said. One of his henchmen points his gun at the shopkeeper.

"Please! Just take my Lien and leave!" The Shopkeeper pleaded.

"Shh Shh Shh... Calm down. We're not here for your money." The man said. He turns to his henchmen. "Grab the Dust."

Oh no! They are going to rob this place! I ran over to Ruby. "Ruby!" I cried.

A henchman opens his case and removes one of the several cylinders, which the group uses to take the Dust from the tube containers on the wall. Another henchman places another open case on display to the shopkeeper.

"Crystals. Burn. Uncut." The henchmen said. The shopkeeper proceeds to fill up the case. As another henchman goes to open the tube, he notices Ruby listening to her music. He walks over towards us.

"Ruby!" I cried, shaking her again. But Ruby still didn't seem to listen. The henchmen draws out his sword.

"Alright kid, put your hands where I can see them!" The henchmen shouted. There was still no response. How does this girl not know she is literally being robbed? The henchmen grows impatient.

"Hey! I said hands in the air! You got a deathwish or something?!" The henchmen yelled. He goes over to her and turns her around. The hood dropped. Ruby turned around, looking surprised.

"Leave her alone!" I yelled. But the henchmen ignored me. He motioned to Ruby to take her headphones off. Ruby does so and looks at the henchmen.

"Yes?" Ruby said.

"I said, put your hands in the air! Now!" The henchmen shouted.

"Are you... robbing me?" Ruby questioned.

"Yes!" The henchmen shouted.

"Ruby, I think we should probably listen to him," I said nervously.

"Don't worry Lana, I got this," Ruby said. Ruby then turns to the henchmen.

"Oooh." She said. The leader is waiting for his men to finish the heist when a "hey" and a "Hyah!" are heard and the henchmen fly past him. The leader calmy motions for another henchman to finish Ruby.

"Freeze!" The henchmen shouted, pointing his gun at Ruby.

"Watch out!" I cried. The henchmen and Ruby crash through the window. The other men looked outside as Ruby got up and unfolded her Cresent Rose into its scythe form. The leader scowls but Ruby smiles back at them before twirling the weapon around, striking it to the ground, and turning off her headphones.

"Okayyy..." The leader said before turning to his henchmen. "Get her!"

The henchmen run out of the shop and run at Ruby, who spins around on top of her scythe and kicks the first approaching henchmen in his face. She gets Cresent Rose out of the ground and fires it off to hit another one with the butt of her weapon, sending them flying. I decided to help Ruby out. After all, I couldn't let her have all the fun. I got out my web shooters and shot my webs at the oncoming henchmen. I gave out a battle cry and punched one of them hard in the face.

Ruby slams a henchmen into the ground before firing again and brings the side down on one attacker and dodges the next gunfire with the rifle's speed, getting close enough to knock him in the air and following him upwards so she can beat him to the leader's feet.

As a few more oncoming henchmen approached me, I charged up my electricity powers. I gave out a battle cry and shot my electricity at the men, sending them flying into the walls.

"You were worth every cent, truly you were." The leader said. The leader drops his cigar and crushes it with his cane. Approaching police sirens could be heard in the distance.

"Well Red, Spider-Girl, I think we can all say it's been an eventful evening. And as much as I'd love to stick around..." The leader raises his cane and opens the bottom to reveal a rifle with a cross grid. "I'm afraid this is where we part ways."

The leader unleashes a red blast at us. The red blast fires at the ground. Ruby and I quickly leap over it. I took a moment to catch my breath. When we landed and looked up, we saw that the leader wasn't there. We saw him climbing up a nearby building.

"You okay if I go after him?" Ruby asks.

"Uh-huh." The shopkeeper said, nodding his head. With that, Ruby and I set off.

"You are amazing Ruby!" I shouted.

"Thank you, so are you!" Ruby said. I smiled. The leader makes it to the roof. Ruby and I follow after him, high-flying onto the building and landing right behind him.

"Hey!" Ruby shouts.

"You won't get away with this!" I yelled. I took my fighting stance. The leader stops at the edge.

"Persistent..." The leader said. Ruby readies to fight him too, but a getaway ship rises up and opens the hatch to allow the leader inside. The leader climbs in and turns to us. He holds up a red Dust gem.

"End of the line Red and Spider-Girl!" The leader shouted. He throws it at our feet and fires at us, resulting in a large explosion.

"Whoa-ho-ho-!" He stops laughing when he sees something on the roof. A woman in a purple cape is now in front of me and Ruby, casting a circle of protection over us with her wand. As Ruby and I look on, the woman in the purple cape waves her weapon and summons several streaks of purple at the craft. The leader is thrown around in the back until he goes to the cockpit where a woman in red, her face unseen, struggling with the controls.

"We got a Huntress!" The leader shouted. The woman in red gets up and heads towards the back as the leader takes over the controls.

The woman in the purple cape glows purple for a moment and aims another blast at the craft, resulting in a dark storm cloud right over the jet.

"The hell...?" The leader said.

With a flick of her wand, large, jagged hail starts falling that pummels the jet and even breaks through the window nearly missing the leader's head.

The woman reaches the back and her arm and chest light up like fire, aiming a burst of energy at the woman in the purple cape. The huntress blocks it, but the flame splatters behind her and glows hot with the enemy's raised hand. The woman in the purple cape backflips out of the explosion, which destroys part of the roof, and magically gathers the shards to create a large arrow, which she throws at the craft. The fiery woman shatters the arrow with several blasts, but it reforms just in time to hit the side of the jet due to the leader's quick aerial lean. The wreckage separates and reshapes into more arrows that encircle the jet, but the woman summons several glowing rings around herself that expand and destroy the shards.

Ruby, finally acting, reverts her scythe into its rifle form to fire at the woman, who blocks each shot and creates several blazing circles around us. I decided to act too and shot my webs at the woman. More blazing circles appeared around me.

"Woah!" I cried. The woman in the purple cape telekinetically pushes me and Ruby and rolles herself out of the explosion's radius. We looked up to see the hatch close and the aircraft fly away.

"Damn it they got away," I said. Ruby looks at the Huntress with amazement. I couldn't help but admire her too.

"You're a huntress? Can I have your autograph?!" Ruby cried.

The woman led us to an office room. She introduced herself as Glynda Goodwitch but she was not happy with me and Ruby for causing a fight with the bad guys. Ruby's amazed face turned to shame as Glynda, with a tablet computer, paced around the table we sat at. My head also hung low.

"I hope you two realize that your actions tonight will not be taken lightly, young ladies. You two have put yourself and others in great danger." Glynda said.

"They started it!" Ruby shouted.

"Yeah! We had no choice!" I shouted.

"If it were up to me, you two would be sent home... With a pat on the back... and a slap on the wrist!" Glynda shouted. Ruby and I narrowly avoided her riding crop when she attempted to hit us with it. We both gave out yelps of surprise. Glynda's face softened. "But... there is someone here who would like to meet you."

She moves out of the way. My face turned from shock to surprise when I saw a man in green come through the doorway. He held a mug and a plate of cookies.

"Ruby Rose..." The man said. He leans into Ruby's face. "You... have silver eyes."

"Uh, um..." Ruby said nervously.

"What is your name, young lady?" The man asked me, turning his attention towards me.

"I'm Lana O'Hara," I said.

"Hmm. So where did you two learn to do this?" The man asked us. He gestures with his head at the tablet showing mine and Ruby's fighting. I was shocked that they got footage of that.

"S-Signal Acadamy," Ruby said nervously.

"My parents taught me," I said.

"They taught you to use one of the most dangerous weapons ever designed?" The man said.

"Well, one teacher in particular," Ruby said.

"And your parents taught you those fighting moves?" The man said to me.

"Yes. I was born with the powers." I said.

"I see..." The man said. He puts the cookies on the table in front of us. She tentatively picks one up, eats it in a single bite, and then not seeing any rebuttal, shoves the rest into her mouth.

"Hey, where's my share?" I whined. Ruby stops eating and passes the cookies to me.

"Oops, sorry," Ruby said. I quickly ate the cookies before Ruby could eat any more.

"It's just that I've only seen one scythe-wielder of that skill before. A dusty, old crow..." The man said.

"Oh! That's my uncle!" Ruby mumbles with her mouth full.

"What?" I said. I couldn't quite understand her when she had her mouth full. Ruby swallows and wipes her mouth, embarrassed.

"Sorry. That's my Uncle Qrow! He's a teacher at Signal. I was complete garbage before he took me under his wing and now I'm all like- Hooowaaah! Witchaaaa!" Ruby proceeds to make some karate-style poses and noises.

"So I've noticed." The man said. He places his cup on the table and leans in, then sits down on the opposite of Ruby and I. "And what is an adorable girl such as yourself doing at a school designed to train warriors?"

"Well... I want to be a Huntress." Ruby said.

"You want to slay monsters?" The man asked.

"Yeah! I only have two more years of training left at Signal! And then I'm going to apply to Beacon! You see, my sister's starting there this year, and she's trying to become a Huntress, and I'm trying to become a Huntress 'Cause I wanna help people. My parents always taught us to help others so I thought, hey, I might as well make a career out of it. I mean, the police are all right but Huntsmen and Huntresses are just so much more romantic and exciting and cool and really, gosh, you know!" Ruby shouted with enthusiasm.

"Wow, you are quite a talker huh?" I said to Ruby. Ruby smiles at me in response.

"Do you know who I am?" The man asked.

"Your Professor Ozpin. The Headmaster at Beacon." Ruby said. Professor Ozpin? I've never heard of him before.

"Hello." Professor Ozpin said with a smile.

"Nice to meet you," Ruby said.

"You want to come to my school?" Professor Ozpin asked.

"More than anything," Ruby said.

"Well, okay." Professor Ozpin said. Ruby's eyes lit up in excitement. Beacon Acadamy? I was curious to know more about that school.

"Excuse me, Professor. How do I sign up for Beacon Acadamy?" I asked. Professor Ozpin looks at me.

"Tell me, Lana. Why do you want to come to my school?" Professor Ozpin asked me.

"Well, I want to learn how to become a better fighter. I want to defend myself and maybe Beacon will help me reunite with my family again." I said.

"Hmm. And what are those on your wrists?" Professor Ozpin asked.

"They are my web shooters," I said. I showed Professor Ozpin my web shooters.

"Pretty cool. I guess if you want to come along with Ms. Ruby Rose you are welcome too." Professor Ozpin said. My smile grew big. Ruby and I squealed with delight.

"I'd recommend you build stronger weapons. Web shooters are great but for this level of combat you're gonna need something much stronger." Professor Ozpin said.

"Okay," I said.

I looked at Ruby who is now my new best friend. Ruby and I hugged each other tightly. "We get to go to Beacon together!" I said happily.

"I know! Best day ever!" Ruby said excitedly.

A week later I finally get to go to Beacon Acadamy with Ruby. I have been looking forward to this day since Professor Ozpin accepted me into the school. Even though I didn't have any training at Signal Academy, Professor Ozpin accepted me because I was a skilled fighter.

I told him I was lost and was trying to get back to my family, so he accepted me for that reason too. I hoped Beacon Acadamy would help me reunite with my family. I also got to design my new weapons and Huntress outfit.

I made a replica of the God Killer sword from my favorite movie Wonder Woman for my weapon. I made the shield and her lasso from the movie. The lasso works the same as Wonder Woman's. It takes the truth from people.

For my Huntress outfit, I made the same one as Wonder Woman's. I have her red top, her blue skirt divided into pieces, and the long red boots she wears in battle. For my accessories, I have her golden eagle chest plate, and the W symbol on the bottom of the skirt. I wore the tiara on top of my head with the gauntlets on my arms along with brown woven sleeveless gloves. I have a golden wristband on the top of my left arm.

I made my way to the ship with Ruby. Ruby introduced me to her sister, Yang Xion Long.

Yang has long curly yellow hair and purple eyes. She wears a tan jacket that bares her midriff, with golden brown piping and short, puffy sleeves with black cuffs that feature two gold buttons. Underneath this, she wears a low-cut yellow crop top with her emblem on the left breast in black. She also wears a brown belt covered by a pleated brown piece of material reaching from hip to hip around the back of her waist, with her emblem emblazoned on the right-most pleat in gold. Underneath this is a long, white, asymmetrical piece of material reaching to her knee on the right side, as well as a pair of tight black spandex compression shorts that reach her upper thighs. She wears a pair of brown, knee-high boots and orange over-the-knee socks, with the right sock pushed down just below the knee. A gray bandanna is tied around her left knee. She wears a purple bandanna around the same knee. An orange infinity scarf and black fingerless gloves complete her outfit.

Yang tackles her sister into a hug. "Oh, I can't believe that my baby sister is going to Beacon with me! This is the best day ever!" Yang said excitedly.

"Please stop," Ruby said, gasping for breath. Yang released her sister.

"But I'm so proud of you!" Yang cooed.

"What do you mean? It was incredible! Everyone at Beacon is going to think you're the bee's knees." Yang said.

"I don't want to be the "bee's knees", okay? I don't want to be any kind of knees! I just want to be a normal girl with normal knees." Ruby said.

"What's with you? Aren't you excited?" Yang said.

"Of course I'm excited... I just..." Ruby stopped and sighed. "I got moved ahead two years. I don't want people to think I'm special or anything."

Yang goes over to her sister to give her a one-armed hug. "But you are special," Yang said. I put my arm around Ruby.

"It's okay, Ruby. I got moved ahead too." I said. "Besides, look on the bright side! We get to go to Beacon together!"

Ruby's frown turned into a smile. "Yeah!" Ruby said excitedly.

our attention is drawn to the 2-D animated newscast on Vale News Network playing nearby, talking about the robbery and showing a criminal's mug shot. It looked like the same guy who attacked us a week ago.

"The robbery was led by nefarious criminal Roman Torchwick, who continues to evade authorities. If you have any information on his whereabouts, please contact the Vale Police Department. Back to you, Lisa."

So, Roman Torchwick huh? "That's the same guy who attacked me and Ruby!" I said.

"Wait what?" Yang said.

The mugshot changes to Lisa Lavender, with a photo of animal-eared demonstrators holding signs saying "WE ARE NOT ANIMALS!" followed by an image of the logo of a growling red wolf's head with three scratch marks.

"Thank you, Cyril. In other news, this Saturday's Faunus Civil Rights protest turned dark when members of the White Fang disrupted the ceremony. The once peaceful organization has now disrupted..."

The news feed is cut off as a hologram of Glynda replaces it.

"Hello and welcome to Beacon!" Glynda said.

"Who's that?" Yang asked.

"My name is Glynda Goodwitch," Glynda said.

"Oh," Yang said, shrugging her shoulders.

"You are among the privileged few who have received the honor of being selected to attend this prestigious academy! Our world is experiencing an incredible time of peace, and as future Huntsmen and Huntresses, it is your duty to uphold it. You have demonstrated the courage needed for such a task, and now it is our turn to provide you with the knowledge and the training to protect our world." Glynda explained. The hologram of Glynda disappeared, revealing the view to the outside world.

Ruby, along with several other students gave out cries of surprise, including me. "Oh, wow!" Ruby exclaimed.

"This is so cool!" I shouted. Me, Ruby, and other students look through the glass walls at the town below.

"Look, you can see Signal from up here!" Ruby cried. "I guess home isn't too far after all."

We then heard a passenger groaning and hunched over nearby, running to the back of the ship.

"Well... I guess the view isn't for everyone." Yang said, rolling her eyes.

"I'll say," I said.

"It was a nice moment while it lasted," Ruby said. The ship approaches Beacon over the large body of water.

"I wonder who we're gonna meet," Yang said.

"I just hope they're better than vomit boy. Oh, Yang gross! You have puke on your shoe!" Ruby cried.

"Ew!" I screamed. I backed away from Yang.

"Gross, gross, gross, gross, gross, gross, gross, gross!" Yang cried. Yang kicks the vomit towards me to try to get it off her shoe.

"Don't kick it at me!" I cried.

"Get-Get away! Get away from me! Get away from me! Get away from me! Get away from me!" Ruby screamed.

As the girls were distracted fighting over the puke, I took this moment to myself to look out the window. I am looking forward to this journey ahead.

Beacon, here I come!

A/N:

Hello readers!

Here is the final draft for RWBY chapter 1. I'm sorry it took me a while to write it out and that I kept re-writing it I just had trouble finding the right storyline and the right crossover. Anyways, now that I have everything figured out I should be good to go with this fanfic. If you could please leave a review it would make me really happy if you did.

Also, another important thing to note, I do not own any RWBY or Spider-Verse characters. The only character I own here is Lana.

That's all for now, until next time!
