Ethan and Jayne got home around the same time. They both went inside and saw their parents and Seana fast asleep.
"You know I kind of envy her." Jayne lovingly looked at her parents and niece.
"I know what you mean. Having these two in your life from this young of an age has to be pretty awesome." Ethan smiled at his parents and daughter.
"We should have had that. They should have. Why does life have to be so unfair?" Jayne had a defeated look on her face.
"Hey, we have them now. it could have been worse. We could have never found them." Ethan reminded her. He knew how much it sucked thinking about what was taking from them but also knew they were very lucky.
Holly was having a dream about what their life would have been like.
Robert and Holly in Australia, not long after the twins would have been born.
"Oh this one goes down and this one wakes up, huh?" Robert's face lit up, he loved being a dad, especially to his and Holly's babies.
"That's how they seem to go." Holly looked at a sleeping Ethan. He was the fussiest of the two, Jayne was more calm. It was wonderful seeing their personalities as they got older.
"You know this one is gonna be trouble like you." Robert teased Holly as he walked around with Jayne, trying to get her to fall asleep.
"Me? My darling are you forgetting what a playboy you were?" She asked him.
"Shh, I don't need little ears hearing that." Robert turned his attention to Jayne. "Mummy was just teasing, daddy was never a playboy."
Holly snorted, trying so hard not to laugh.
"Did you just snort?" Robert asked as he sat down next to her.
"Not on purpose, but what do you expect after hearing that load, my darling?" Holly looked into Robert's eyes, both of their eyes sparkling.
Robert leaned and kissed her. "I love you, I love our life."
End of dream.
Holly mumbled in her sleep. "I love you too Robert."
Jayne smiled as she looked back at Ethan. "I hope one day to have a love like theirs."
"Do you think you can with that detective?" Ethan asked as he went over to take a seat.
Jayne sat down and shook her head. "He has someone and I'm not about to be someone who breaks up a relationship."
Ethan nodded, he saw the way the two of them were looking at each other but respected and admired her stance on it.
"What about you and Annie? You two seem to have gotten closer." Jayne loved getting to talk to Ethan about this, it felt nice to have a sibling after thinking she was an only child for years.
Ethan didn't really know what to say. "We are figuring it out but she is wonderful, a fantastic mother and someone I just love talking to. I'm taking my time though. I know that sounds silly because we have Seana..."
"Not at all." Jayne smiled at him.
Holly started to stir and looked over to see Jayne and Ethan. "When did you two get home?" She asked as she carefully got up.
"Not too long ago. You three looked too comfortable to disturb." Ethan stood up and gave his mother a hug.
"We had such a fun time, very much needed." Holly gave Jayne a hug.
Robert woke up next and carefully got up with Seana. "Hello you two." He gave Seana to Ethan.
"Thank you two for watching her, she's crazy about you both." Ethan kissed his daughter's head.
"As we are her." Robert wrapped an arm around Holly. "If you don't mind I think your mum and I are going to go upstairs and try to relax, if that is okay with her."
"Sounds great." Holly replied.
"Go on, enjoy each others company." Jayne smiled and hugged both of her parents.
Robert and Holly both hugged Ethan as well before going upstairs.
