25. A Comfy Couch
Ami, realistically, should go sleep in the loft.
The couches down here are very nice, for sure. But the agency is closed for the night. Kyoko had always closed it at 7 PM on the dot, even if Ami or herself was still out. No sneaky cases for them.
Even if she was gone, Ami kept up her routine. Kyoko had to return to things as usual after all. Except well, once things closed, Ami never went upstairs for long like Kyoko did. She had the money to order takeout and the time to eat it.
And she liked the couch.
She wanted to see Kyoko's face when she walked in and found Ami and Pete napping on her couch. She wanted to record that reaction like Kyoko threatening to with all her coffee.
The blanket smelled like coffee beans and wasabi.
It lulled her to sleep every time.
Kyoko still did not come home. So Ami opened up the detective agency as usual. As usual.
