31. Beep
"Rei, can you feed Zero?"
"Sure can!" She scoots herself over to the desk, where Taichi's phone is beeping. She swipes the password in and works on the app. Zero waves his gauntlet- covered hands. It's too bad the form of UlforceV-dramon can't smile with the visor. He looks so happy.
He's probably enjoying peacetime with Gabo. She hopes so anyway.
Taichi is working on lunch while she does this. He waves the meal over and sits beside her.
Zero beeps again from his smart phone. "Relax old man," Taichi teases. "We gotta eat too."
Beep number three.
"Don't tease our son," Rei jokes. "He's getting ready to leave the house."
The phone vibrates and Taichi laughs. "We love you, Zero. Don't worry."
The vibrating stops. Rei touches his hand and Taichi squeezes it.
"Ready?"
"Always."
They eat together until Neo comes by with the van. Then real life awaited them once again.
